Truck does not detect specifically silver ford cars when auto parking. It will try to park in the same spot as them on sunny days.
Phantom dead battery truck died
Vehicle intruder alarm activates for no reason. Has happened 5 nights across 83 days of ownership. Vehicle has less than 3500 miles and local ford service cannot find root cause.
Intrusion alarm going off in the middle of the night for no reason. Vehicle is parked and locked in the drive way, happens every night. Must disable motion sensors prior to parking over night every time.
If the truck sits for more than 2 days the battery will be dead and unable to be jumpstarted with jump packs. Had to have the battery replaced it was so dead already.
I purchased a new hybtid 2021 platinum ford f-150 in march. On wednesday, august 5th, i reported to ford i received a warning light ā€your charging system required service soon.ā€¯ since i had the truck serviced one week before, i contacted the dealer and the earliest they could see me was next tuesday. ( specialist has to work on the truck). Since i was out of town located in boone, nc, i went to their local ford dealer and reported my problem. The earliest they could see me was one week from now. I drove the truck for two days with no additional warning lights. I stopped the truck under a shade tree with the truck running (in electrical mode) to have lunch with my wife.i left the ac on and my dog in the truck. For safety reasons, i opened the passenger door to keep an eye on the dog since he had heart disease. About 20 minutes later i noticed my dog panting. I went into the truck and the ac was blowing hot air. The carā€™s battery charging system light was on and the battery light was on. I turned off the truck and put my dog in a cool location. Since the dog has end stage heart disease, i am confident my dog would not had survived in this hot weather if i did not catch this problem early. I restarted the truck, drove the truck around, the warning lights did not turn in and the ac worked fine. Since ev hybrid trucks can run indefinitely beyond 30 minutes with the user option to turn the generator pack turned on, there is absolutely no warning this type of issue can occur. I am sure users feel safe with having ev in a truck and confident of no failures, however, i did not see this ever happening.i believe animal and children can be at risk if left alone for a short period of time in this type of failure. In my case, i was only three feet away. Also, ford specialist are hard to see and my dealer had no solution until the truck could be seen.

The contact owns a 2021 ford f-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the digital instrument cluster would inadvertently turn off and on, causing the speedometer and warning lights to become inoperable. The trailer braking system on my new 2021 f150 powerboost malfunctions every once in a while.while towing my 27 ft airstream trailer the brakes will often stop working.they always work when i begin a trip, but then the brakes fail during the trip.i receive a notice when attempting to manually apply trailer brakes from inside the cab that the trailer is not recognized.several other new f150 powerboost owners are experiencing the same issue and their experiences can be found on thef150gen14.com user forum.i have included a link to the forum thread.https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/trailer-brake-not-working.3039/so far none of us have any success working with ford dealers.i have tried several and they are not helpful.i also called ford customer service but they could not find anything in their database indicating there is a problem.the only clue i've found so far, for my truck, has to do with the seven pin plug.we have tried two different testing devices and both show there is about a 6 second delay sending a signal to the ebrake pin.the other pins for lights fire immediately, but the ebrake pin has a delay.others are looking at the brake module in the truck and other programming issues.as you can see from the user forum there are many theories and no solid solutions yet.i have had my airstream brakes inspected twice and they have not found anything out of the ordinary.this is a serious safety issue because a 7k lb trailer pushing you down a steep mountain with no brakes is terrifying.someone is going to have a serious accident if ford does not take the issue seriously and find the cause.
Trailer brakes although operational at start of journey intermittently fail to operate some time thereafter at which point they stay failed. This happens without any warning or notice to the driver. All indications are that trailer is attached correctly e.g. Vehicle self diagnosis of trailer lights shows lights operational and trailer connected. Operating the trailer brake via. Dash brake controller either shows normal but no trailer braking occurs or will show an error message "no trailer attached" but trailer attachment is verified through trailer lights shown (by truck) as operational.safety implications of this should be obvious - no trailer brakes will force truck to stop truck+trailer combo using only the truck brakes, leading to drastically increased stopping distance or possibility of brake failure e.g. On long downhill stretch of road.dealer is unable to reproduce the problem, has suggested changing brake controller (but really for lack of other ideas) and agrees that the physical fit/dimensions of the trailer plug itself seem poor quality compared to other trucks - possible cause?other instances of owners experiencing this problem are documented in this forum thread: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/trailer-brake-not-working.3039
When towing a trailer with trailer brakes, the trailer brakes are tested and confirmed to be working at the beginning of the journey, but at some point during the journey, the trailer brakes will stop working with no indication compromising my stopping ability. This issues has occurred multiple time and can confirm there are no problems with the trailer brakes themselves. This same issue is being reported by multiple other 2021 f150 owners.
I purchased the truck early 2021. After about 6500 miles, upon starting the vehicle a warning message to the effect of "oil level low, add oil" appeared. After manually checking my oil dipstick, i found the oil level to be below the safe oil line. I promptly took the truck to the ford dealership in which i purchased it. The service technician informed me of one other case he has personally experienced where the pcv system was defective, allowing an excessive amount of oil to be consumed. Ford was unable to receive my vehicle for service for 1-2 weeks due to a full service schedule. It was at this point i attempted to go to a 3rd party vendor for an oil change. That vendor checked my oil level and confirmed the reading was below the safe oil line. They advised i return to ford. Concern for my safety and the continued safe operation of the vehicle, i requested the 3rd party vendor to add a quart of oil. In the end, it took 2 quarts of oil to return the oil level to a safe operating zone.i then promptly returned to ford and spoke to the service department manager. They will accomplish and oil change and return the vehicle to me to perform an oil consumption test over the course of approximately 1,000-1,500 miles, before returning to ford for further evaluation.

Transmission in truck shudders and does not down shift in maneuvers required to avoid some near miss situations.
On june 23rd while driving my 2021 xl supercrew with the 3.5l ecoboost engine, the engine quit while i was driving about 30mph.i pushed the accelerator slightly intending to accelerate to 35mph and when the truck downshifted, the engine stalled, and i think the transmission tried to move to park. I got a notification of parking brake error on the dash and started hearing a ticking/clicking noise while still rolling, now down a hill. I moved the column shifter to neutral and it didn't do anything to stop the ticking. I pulled onto the shoulder and slowed down and, and as i neared stopping, the truck finished shifting into park and it jolted to a stop. I then saw a bunch of other errors like engine coolant too hot, stability control disabled, and forward collision warning disabled. There may have been others but i don't recall. The tachometer was frozen showing roughly 2000 rpm until i turned the key to off. Then the dash said to be careful exiting because the parking brake wasn't on.after turning the key to off, i restarted it, the lights on the dash cleared, and i was able to shift to drive, and make it home 3 min later.there are no lights on the dash, so i'm hoping this can still diagnosed at this point. The truck has 793 miles on it as it sits now. The soonest service appointment i have been able to make is for july 8th, but the dealer won't guarantee that it will be seen then.

While attempting to drive the vehicle out of the driveway the brake pedal and went all the way to the floor and the vehicle would not stop. Then, after approximately 10 to 15 feet the brakes locked up completely. The abs fault light, hill descent control not available light, and pre-collision assist not available light all were flashing on the dash. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. The dealership was able to confirm the issue and has determined that there was an issue with the brake booster.
I bought a new 2021 f-150 powerboost exactly 60 days ago, drove approximately 1500 miles until i completely lost brakes on the car almost causing an accident. I brought the car over to the dealer cross-roads ford of apex and after one day with my truck, they diagnosed the issue, made software updates to all modules, and returned the car. I got the car and within 5 minutes from the dealer, lost brakes again and had to manage to stop the vehicle... Returned to the dealer and it's in for diagnosis again but they asked me to contact ford. This is not acceptable, i put my family at risk twice and possibly others in the road with this truck. Opened a case with ford cas-32036511-y0w3w4.
The contact owns a 2021 ford f-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floor while attempting to stop the vehicle. During the failure, the front brakes failed to activate and the rear brakes were delayed in activating, causing the stopping distance to be extended. The abs warning light was illuminated. Several messages displayed on the instrument panel alerted the driver that the hill assist, collision avoidance, and drive mode functions were inoperable. The vehicle was towed to jim burke ford located at 2001 oak st, bakersfield, ca 93301 to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the electronic brake booster was faulty. The brake booster was replaced, the brake module was updated, and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was660.
The contact owns a 2021 ford f-150. The contact stated that the brakes failed on two separate occasions. The first failure occurred while the contact was driving at an undisclosed speed on the highway. Several unknown warning lights were flashing however, the warning lights self-adjusted. The second time the failure recurred, the vehicle was parked. While attempting to start-up the vehicle, several unknown warning lights illuminated. After the failure, while driving 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The abs activated and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the trailer brake module had failed. The vehicle was repaired but remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,900.
The 2021 f150 active air dam does not function properly. The top stationary piece becomes lodged inside of the bottom retractable part every time it opens and closes. It's becoming weaker and loosely attached to the vehicle. I'm afraid one day driving it will completely fall off and fly into another vehicle's line of sight causing damage or a wreck. The dealer i went to service advisor called it a "wrinkle" like it was a joke to him and i should just deal with it. He supposedly put in a "tsb" but never calls me back when i ask about it. I need it replaced or repaired. It makes me extremely nervous. There are multiple threads complaining about it so it's not just a one truck issue.
Vehiclewas purchased new 06/08/2021. Since that time it has been back to the dealer 4 times with 3 being for repairs to the problem. There is a crunching / clanging sound every time a turn is made on an incline or decline. The vehicle has been inspected and gone over with body bolts loosened and re-tightened to factory specs to no solution. It was taken back again and now the dealer thinks it is something with the springs. The truck has been with the dealer a total or 27 days as of this date. ( 08-21-2021 ) and repair attempted 3 times. The dealer is not sure if springs are the problem, just chasing possibilities down.i have a loaner which myself and my wife heard the same noise starting. We feel unsafe with this vehicle and ford seems to be passing the buck although the dealer rep believes it is time for a buy back.

My backup camera display on the dash is hazy and grey, similar to the issue ford has with the 2020 model year.
Intrusion alarm going off in the middle of the night for no reason. Vehicle is parked and locked in the drive way, happens every night. Must disable motion sensors prior to parking over night every time.
The vehicle has a stutter at idle. Vehicle has shown this characteristic since driven out of the lot. Current mileage is 1,800 miles. This does not seem 'normal'.
This vehicle doesn't appear to have sat in a holding yard for 30 days after being exported from canada.it was serviced 03/24/21 in alberta canada and then offered for sale 04/14/21 in the usa.attached is the carfax to show the timeline and history
2021 ford f150. Consumer writes in regards to windshield safety recall. The consumer referenced recall 21s28/nhtsa recall 21v407. The consumer stated the parts necessary to complete the recall repair were unavailable and it was unknown when the vehicle would become available. The consumer stated the dealer did not have rental vehicle available.
At random times the idle is very rough and the truck has stalled out 2 times at traffic lights. (auto start) was disabled so it should not have turned off at all. If i give it just 100 more rpm it seems to be issue free.
When slowing down the truck lurches forward when going back into electric and/or gas mode, and has nearly caused my truck to collide with the vehicle in front of me. The truck will pick up speed when slowing down, as when downshifting and switching out/in electric to gas mode it propels the truck forward even while firmly pressing the brake.
The rear window shattered after closing a door on my 2021 f-15 xlt. It was 68 degrees, 11am and the truck was parked in the shade. There's approximately 3800 miles on the odometer. There was no one in the truck. The window blew out onto the tonneau cover. I have a call into my insurance and have yet to have it inspected by either the insurance or the ford dealer, as it happened on a saturday.
This vehicle was purchased new from the dealer with this open safety recall. This is a violation of 49 usc 30120(i) sale and delivery of un-remedied, recalled vehicles. The dealership told us in person on the date of purchase that there were no open recalls on the vehicle, safety or otherwise. In the event of an accident this defect could pose harm not only to the occupants but innocent bystanders.this new vehicle was purchased for its safety and reliability, not to be exposed to risk and neglect. This dealership needs to be investigated for breaking federal regulations and exposing me,my family, as well as others, to unnecessary risk.there were at least two other customers whom the dealership was contacting to inform them of the recall after they purchased their new vehicle.it is my opinion that there are likely many others as well. I have all the sale documentation for my vehicle ready to add to this complaint.
The back up camera works intermittently.
The front wipers failed to work properly. It is available for inspection, but scheduled to be fixed. We have actual video of it not working properly before it stopped working completely.our safety was put at risk.we were driving on 94e in montana when it started raining. The wipers were working and then suddenly stopped. We were doing 64mph and were passed by trucks which splashed more water on the windshield. Once it stopped raining we drove to the nearest ford dealer - all american ford - glendive montana where a tech tried to help but was unable to resolve the issue. We had to stop driving for the night and wait for the storm to pass. We had 2 kids in the car and were trailering a 21ft camper. We nearly crashed after the trucks splashed water all over the windshield.
Tow mirrors were provided by ford oem ml3z17696cathe side marker lights will not function on the new 2021 models due to inability to program them.ford dealerships do not know how to program them.they said there is no official documentation on how to do this.this is a safety concern as these are large tow mirrors that extend far out on the sides of the vehicle.at night they require side marker lights.
