On august 24, 2001, a fire spontaneously began under the hood of my 1991 ford f150 pickup truck while it was turned off and parked in the driveway at night.the fire caused expensive damage to the vehicle and would have probably caught my house on fire had the truck been parked in the garage.i checked with the local ford dealership (centroplex ford in killeen, texas, which is now automax ford) about ford's liability and they said repairs would not be covered because the factory warranty had long expired.i therefore sought compensation through my insurance company.i paid for the ford dealership to perform repairs, which were not done satisfactorily.i am reporting this now because the incident is very similar to recent occurrences that have caused deaths and resulted in a major recall.my vehicle is not covered under that recall and should have been.therefore, i am requesting that the recall be extended to 1991 ford f150 pickups and that i receive satisfactory compensation and repairs.

While the engine is running, the dual tanks cross-flow into one another.one tank has over-filled the other tank and visa versa to include spillage.i have contacted the local dealer and ford about it but they say they can't do anything for me as far as a recall is concerned even though this issue was a safety recall issue in the past.i do not know if the previous owner addressed the recall but it is a problem right now.when i purchased the truck, i didn't know it had a cross-flow problem until someone told me something was leaking from under my truck. Since then, i have noticed that the fuel gauge goes down quicker than it should and when i switch tanks, the other tank has more fuel than it did.this issue happens regardless if in motion or standing still.if the track was fixed via a recall, they obviously didn't do it right or the "fix" didn't fix the problem.i can not afford to fix this issue even though it should have been fixed through the recall already.

I have a 1991 ford f-150 supercab truck which i purchased new. I was not involved in any kinda of accident or product failure so i cannot report and kinda of damage estimates or injury information because there are none. I was looking through the nhtsa safety regulations webpage because i was baffled at the fact that my1991 pickup did not have any kind of head restraints. I found that under standard 202 that all cars, multipassenger vehicles, trucks, and buses with a gvwr of 10,000 lbs or less are required to have head restraints effective 1-1-69. This surprised me that my truck along with many others were produced without headrestraints. In fact, the bench seat in my truck only goes up to the level of my shoulder blades. I have not contacted ford motor company on this issue since i wanted to reseach this safety standard to make certain it applies my my vehicle. I have already contacted a representative on your hotline who told me to fill out this voq and also refered my to another rep who then refered me to your compliance engineer [xxx] who i spoke with and explained my case. He was very helpful and has refered this case to a [xxx] defect engineer. I am awaiting his reply still and i just wanted to enter this as a more detailed explaination of my complaint. What instigated this was a string of multiple incidents where i was nearly rear-ended and got to thinking about the danger of not having head restraints. Now that i am under the impression that my truck does not meet federal safety guidelines i am wanting action to correct the problem and i felt that nhtsa was the best route to get the ball moving. I thank you all very much for hearing my complaint and i must comment on how curtious and helpful everyone i have spoken with has been. Thank you, [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Throttle position sensor failed.
