While driving 45 mph, the driver collided with the vehicle in front of her.both frontal air bags failed to deploy. This caused the driver and passenger to sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection. Please provide further details.

I bought a 2002 ford explorer sport trac new. Shortly after have electric window problems drivers door back passenger window and now the passenger door window, bad body mounts, and idles bad when in park or stopped at a red light. Rpm's 500 to 1000 back down to 500-400. 2002 had a baby girl 1 1/2 years and another on the way needed a 4 door and also for work. I kick my self every day that i have owned it but had no choice money was tight and still is could not afford every time getting things fixed so i lived with it!!!! until i found this web page i am fed up i have always owned ford but after this im not so sure anymore! and reading other peoples with the same problems the sport trac is one big lemon!!!!!!

Left rear blinker and brake light quit working. Bulbs and fuses were changed but did not correct the problem.problem was found in tilt steering column.a wire pulled itself free of the wire connection harness due to usage of the tilt steering feature.this problem could have led to a very serious traffic accident since drivers behind the vehicle had no idea the vehicle was preparing to make an left hand turn and it compounded the problem because only one brake light worked. My husband took the steering column off and reinserted the wire into the harness and applied epoxy to secure it.

There was not warning lights on dash, truck slowed down then engine raced up all on its own turned i turned off road shifted to nutral and sat until the racing stopped continued on to auto part store where they plugged into engine it read strange codes..

Part # e6db-14489-da. I've googled the issue and found numerous other people with same issue. Faulty connector causing the rear brake lights and turn signals not to work. The wiring comes out of the connector (it's in the steering column).

The radio in my truck began to change stations without the button being pressed. Next it would not release cd's and would switch from am to fm to cd and not allow me to power it off. Now the display is completely gone, two cd's are stuck inside, and the radio doesn't work more than 5 minutes without going crazy. My passenger side lights in the rear don't work most of the time but the bulb has been changed. When you move the wire a little it works but then stops again. I believe the wiring is also responsible for the radio problems. I can't remember however, if this has started before or after the truck was taken in for a recall for something else.

Part # e6db-14489-da. This is a wiring harness connector located in the steering column that becomes unplugged when you tilt steering downward. Result is brakes lights and turn signals no longer function. ** my sister-in-law was nearly rear-ended while waiting to make a turn. This is a major safety issue.many other people with same issue.also, have seen similar complaints for other ford vehicles (taurus). Serious accidents will happen if public is not notified. Dealers charging $200+ to fix.

No left turn single or brake lights, when the steering wheel is tilited down we found the turn singles do not work or brake lights.

I purchased my 2002 explorer sport trac in march last year(2003).i had to wait and extra week to pick up my vehicle due to electrical problem that they swore to me was taken care of.in january 2004 my check engine light came on so i called my closest ford dealership and they told me it would take 2 weeks for me to get an appointment to have my truck checked.three days later my transmission blew.i called ford customer relations and they said that it was not a problem and that i would have to pay to have my truck fixed.three weeks and $2600.00 later i got my truck back.now the check engine light is still on and my 4 wheel drive does not work.i called aamco(the place ford referred me too), and they told me that it was not the transmission but now an electrical problem that i would need to take to the dealership to have fixed but i would have to pay to have that fixed as well.my truck had 39,000 miles and was less than 2 years old and ford is stating that they are refusing to fix anything for free.i have seen all kinds of reports of electrical and engine problems with this year and model truck and i do not agree with this.

Driving one day the od off light began flashing now it shifts hard and clinks and clacks going down road

I come to realize in the automotive industry vehicles do not a transmission gauge.transmission sensory light to let you know when your transmission fluid is getting low. This is a problem for me and many more americans. My ford explorer sporttrac do not have a transmission sensory light or a gauge. The transmission is slipping and not shipping out gears right. Someone is responsible for this problem.we have all other fluid gauges except a transmission gauge.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac.the contact stated that the speedometer displays 10 mph, even if the vehicle is traveling at higher speeds.the dealer stated that the components were operating normally and they may be able to place a speedometercluster on the vehicle.the vehicle was purchased from a private party.the speed was unknown.the current mileage was 99,679 and the failure mileage was unknown.

Rattle or thumming sound from rear of instrument panel sounds like spedometer cable not lubricated. Sound changes in frequency and volume with speed of vehicle.

Ford explorer sport trac, 2002.at 4,122 mi battery light flashed three times, and truck nearly stalled.

All four tires were slightly cupping, and the brakes made a thumping noise when they were depressed. Dealership replaced the pads, lubed the front caliper slide pin, and replaced rotors. Vehicle experiencing problems with tires cupping. The following repairs were performed on the vehicle: engine replaced, brakes, replaced, alignment, battery wiring assembly repaired, dpfe sensor replaced.consumer asked dealer for a full refund on vehicle.*mr

Consumer called complaining about stalling problems. Vehiclecompletely shut down more than a dozen times while drivingat more than 40 mph. Manufacturer was contacted and stated that this was the first time that they heard ofthis problem. Dealer was contacted, andvehicle had been at the dealer four different times, and they still couldn't find what was wrong with the vehicle.

Dt*:the contact stated there is a short in the wiring system causing the vehicle to continually blow fuses.this causes the vehicle taillights and dashboard lights to be inoperable.the dealership was unable to find the source of the problem. Updated 03/03/06.

There is a problem in the steering column wiring that after a while causes not only your turn signal and brake light to stop working but in some cases causes problem with air bag as well. A lot of cases can be seen by going to http://www.mysporttrac.com/mysporttrac/ and doing a search of turn signals. On my particular vehicle. My turn signal or brake light on the passenger side will not work when the tilt steering is engaged. If i leave the steering wheel all the way up everything works. I attribute my air bag indicator light coming on to this same issue. Most people are saying the wires are too short and some come unplugged and others break their pins off.

Vehicle is a 2002 ford sport trac with approx 42k miles. Began with rapid flashing of left turn signal. Rear turn and brake lamp were inoperable. Replacing bulb had no effect. Found positioning steering column to a higher tilt position corrected malfunction.removed steering column cover and found 4 wires pulled out of connector on multi-function (turn signal switch). Wires move in and out as column is moved through tilt range. Wires out at bottom of tilt and in at top of tilt range. Removed connector part # e6db-14489-da. 3 connector pin retainers fell out and were recovered. A fourth was found to be in the connector but not retaining it's pin. Connector must be replaced to correct problem. Also the wiring harness is secured above the tilt pivot point of the steering column. I believe the harness is secured with insufficient slack to prevent excessive stress on the connector at the lower positions of the steering column tilt range. I base this on the fact that the 3 pins with broken retainers are on the top row of the connector and would be the most stressed in a lower position of the steering wheel. Also i have over 20 years of aircraft electronics experience as an avionics technician and fully understand proper wire routing procedures.digital pictures of the connector are available.

While being parked vehicle caught on fire. The cause of this was still undetermined.

Ford recall#05s28 (speed control deactivation switch). Possible underhood fire if not repaired.notified in aug. 2007 it is now jan. 2008 and the condition has not been corrected.

While driving at various speeds black smoke would came from the tail pipe. Consumer could smell gas fumes inside the vehicle. . drivers rear door will not open from the inside. Drivers side seat molding is falling off. Center duct loose on dash. Drivers seat cushion lost its form.

While driving my 2002 ford sport trac at about 40 mph, engine shut off without any warning, just a shaking feeling, then completely shut off, while in motion. Very dangerous situation! no check engine light came on and no codes were present. I was able to get out of traffic and avoid being hit. Had to crank for about half a minute and it restarted. Have driven on a daily basis about 200 miles since and problem has not recurred as of yet.vehicle is well maintained and up to date on filters,etc...

While driving at any speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The cause has yet to be determined. Please provide additional information.*la

While merging onto a freeway, couldn't get over 2,000 rpm and thus couldn't get enough speed to merge on at over 25mph.vehicle stalled several times while trying to get off the freeway.new vehicle has 10812 miles.ford maintenance dept stated they couldn't find anything wrong, it ran fine for them.my husband went to pick up the vehicle and in drive it ran, in neutral couldn't get more than 2,000 rpm, mechanic said it was the governor, needless to say, my husband said fixthe car.they still have my truck.

Problems with vehicle engine stalling while driving. *mr this was an intermittent problem.there would be no warning. *sc

While driving vehicle stalled. The consumer pulled over and restarted the vehicle. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

The body mounts on the vehicle are desintegrating. I touched it with my hand and it fell apart. Body mounts should last much longer.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an automotive repair shop where a mechanic performed a diagnostic test and detected a malfunction in the emissions control system.the manufacturer had issued a voluntary recall for the emissions control system however, the contact's vehicle was not included in the recall campaign.the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 161,673.

I purchased a ford explorer sport trac in dec. 2002.i have been in and out of the service department a number of times.the following is a list of items that i've had repaired under warranty:1.) front brakes: a loud rubbing/griding sound became increasingly louder.the first time the service dept. Folks said that it was normal.the next time i brought the car in, they could deny the noise and they subsequently replace one rotor and resurfaced the other.2.) rear axle:a broken seal allowed hydroulic fluid to cover inside of the rear wheel causing difficulty in braking.the service dept. Repaired under warranty3.) the transfer case for the 4-wheel drive was leaking fluid.the service dept. Repaired under warranty.4.) the vehicle stalls a numerous amounts of times (10-15 times) since i've owned it.it stalls while i'm driving at 35 miles per hour, in reverse, day or night.when i go for an errand and park, the vehicle will not start.an hour later, when the tow truck is there, the vehicle start.it drives me crazy!!the service dept. Says they cannot do anything because nothing registers on the computer and they cannot simulate the problem.the last time it happened (08-04-04) merging on to the freeway it stalled.upon start-up, black smoke poured out of the exhaust and idling was extremely rough. I had it towed to a ford dealership.the service dept replaced a mass airflow meter under warrenty.the vehicle runs...i'll cross my fingers!!my current problem is that the front tires are severly cupping and the front end viberates at 60 mph and over.the vehicle has 25k miles and the tires have been rotated 5 times about every 5k miles.i had the wheels checked for alignment and balance and it is to specifications.the service dept says its normal and to continue with the rotations.the tires are wearing unevenly and prematurely.the tire shop recommends that the shocks and struts be replaced.the service dept does not.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac.while driving 40 mph, the oxygen sensor caused the check engine light to illuminate and the cruise control failed at 40,000 miles.the dealer promised over the phone to repair both the recall and the engine light, but later denied service because the vehicle was 24,000 miles over the limit to repair the oxygen sensor.the technician disconnected the cruise control switch to prevent a fire from occurring until the parts for the recall were available.a year has passed and the dealer still does not have the parts for the repair.the recall number was unknown.the current mileage was 56,000 and failure mileage was 40,000.

While driving at any speed vehicleintermittently stalled. Consumermade contact with the dealership. The cause of failure was not identified at this time.however, floor manager suggestedthat for another $125.00consumer couldhave a nice and decent new car".

I have experienced the same problem with gas spewing out of tank when refueling.this is my second sport trac. Ford bought back my first one because they couldn't fix ongoing engine problems that started off as a rough idle problem.they even replaced the engine, and surprisingly that made things worse.i have had my new vehicle since the end of july and have experienced similar rough idle problems recently.

My 2002 ford explorer sport trac stalls when going down the road.it's like you're taking your foot off the gas and back on it again except that isn't what i'm doing.today it did that and then went dead while driving down the road.i took it to the ford place but they said with no lights on it wouldn't do any good to hook it up to a machine.they said it could be anything from electronics, fuel pump, etc.my warranty runs out in about 4,500 miles.this has been going on for about a year with the stalling out but this was the first time it actually went dead while driving down the road.i would estimate that over the past year that it has stalled at least 25 separate occasions but only 1 time so far did it go dead.

4405 miles, 9:05 a.m., september 1, 2002, car stalled again.

Engine stalled at 4683 miles on the odometer.date:7 october 2002.i noted that it now idles at 600 rpm.i don't know what that means.

Consumer complained about astalling problem. Vehicle was taken to dealer. However, the problem had not been corrected. Also, right rear door locks malfunctioned, and door couldn't be opened except from the outside.

Body mounts on left front of vehicle keep coming loose. Vehicle taken to dealer numerous times, dealer will tighten the body mounts. Ford is buying vehicle back.

I bought this truck on february 20th, 2004 with a little over 20,000 miles.on february 24th, 2004, after leaving the dealership my truck died on a busy street on two separate occasions.the salesman told me that the truck had flooded.on june 10th, august 12th, november 19th, and again on december 2nd, 2004 (the only ones i wrote down it does happen more often) my truck also died while driving down the road.these have all been very serious incidents where i felt lucky to not only be alive but that i hadnt hit anything or anyone else.the technicians from the dealership have looked at my truck on all these occasions and gave me little or no excuse for the truck to die.at this time ive asked for a reasonable refund with no success&&im at a loss&&&please help!!!!

I bought a ford explorer sport trac in aug. Of 2002.ever since it was a year old i have had nothing but problems with it.i had it 6 times for the same issue, they replaced the same part 4 times, that did not help.they finally called the ford help line and found out they needed to replace the whole gas tank.my truck the first time lost all power while driving down the road, i shut it off and it restarted fine.i took into the dealership and they had to re-program the main computer chip.next, my truck wouldn't start unless holding down the gas pedal then finally it would start and there would be a black smoke cloud that would come out of the tail pipe each time.the new gas tank finally fixed this problem!now i have other issues with a noise in the engine and when i first start it up and back out of the garage or parking space it sputters then once in drive it is ok, also when shifting after 40mph it has a hard shift instead of a smooth one.still trying to get it fixed.

The vehicle must be driven with the windows down because chemicalfumesenter into the passenger's compartment.the dealerinspected the vehicle several times, and could not duplicate or correct the problem. The catalytic converter was replaced and reset but the problem remained the same. *scc

While driving 65 and attempting to pass another vehicle consumer'svehicle failed to go into passing gear. Engine stalled andconsumer had to coast to the side of the highway. Once off the road consumer restarted the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but the technician couldn't find anything wrong.the vehicle was taken back tot he dealer where they replaced the fuel pump, gas tank and air flow sensor.so far the vehicle has been running as it should.the heat shield under the vehicle rattled.the dealer adjusted it.the multifunction switch would not lock in place when using the turn signals.

While driving at various speeds black smoke would came from the tail pipe. Consumer could smell gas fumes inside the vehicle. . drivers rear door will not open from the inside. Drivers side seat molding is falling off. Center duct loose on dash. Drivers seat cushion lost its form.

The paint is bubbling and peeling for the center instrument panel.also noticed driver seat feels loose. Now todayno a/c. Does not get cool.*la

My left turn signal went out. Replaced bulb...no change. Went to dealership. They repaired steering wheel harness issue. Worked until i drove my aunt to det. Metro for a flight to dallas. Spent the whole drive trying to make other drivers remember hand signals from there to center line, mi on freeways. This time the dealership claimed the wires needed to be covered with a melt-wrap to stop the tilt wheel from pinching the wires. I think it should have been right from day 1 and ford's should pay us back for both the brakes and the lights. Recall and fix this! i have never had to put this much into brakes/lights before. I've been driving for 44 years. All ford products. What's the problem with this one????? i neglected to say that my rotors went at 12000 miles. Car turned into a death trap shortly after. Kept taking it to dealership complaining that it took off and pulled right when i braked. They replaced everything they could talk me into paying for to the tune of $1100 and when it didn't fix it they still claimed that their charge was taking care of "other" problems. I made the tech. Drive with me and repeat what caused the problem (slow braking as if at a stop sign/traffic light) and he actually yelped when the truck took off again and turned right on him. Turns out it was a bad right front anti-lock sensor that cost me a fortune. Too bad ford doesn't have more capable tech's to find the problem. Also too bad that the sensor wasn't working well in the first place. Brake module replacement, rotors, pads...still under 30000 and have no confidence. All my other cars/trucks went way beyond 70000 miles without rotor problems. I'm a "light" braker. This is the first time i ever had to do the brakes like this. I'm beginning to think it's a cheap-down, more work for the dealers issue. Shame on somebody!

The headlights continues to go on and off. Most of the time it is the passenger side light but the drivers side also does the same thing. I have replaced the passenger side pigtale but the problem is still there.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac.the contact stated that the light switch that controls the headlights has been replaced four times.the failure occurred once while driving 25 mph.he feels that the vehicle is unsafe to drive because the light switch may not work while driving at night.the current and failure mileages were 22,000.updated 01/06/09. *ljupdated 01/06/09.

2002 ford explorer sport trac fuel fill problem.tank will not fill and splashes out every time i try to get gas covering me with gas and spraying out every where. Forums show this is vary common problem with the sport trac. Vary unsafe.

2002 ford explorer sport trac-during fueling gas spits out of the filler. Service manager said to me that lots of sport tracs have this problem and ford can't find the answer to it. They are not letting this out to the public or on a technical service bulletin. This is very dangerous and someone should look into it! my sport trac has been in their for over a month and they haven't resolved this yet!!!!!!!

Spits out gas when i start to fill it up. It has been in the shop 7 times between 8/02-2/03 for a cumlative total of 35 days! it's running now, but for how long before it goes back in the shop is anybody's guess. I asked one of the service advisors if there were any other sport tracs with the same problem, he said no. If that was the case, why was the part he needed to fix my truck on national backorder? this needs to be brought to everyones attention that has a sport trac. Gas spitting out is a major safety concern that needs to be looked in to before someone is seriously hurt or killed!

To whom it may concern:i just read the article on the ford escape (4/13/04) recall at consumeraffairs.com.i bought my truck in september 2002.this engine stalling/stuttering and dying is exactly what my ford explorer sport trac has been doing since the 2nd day (30 miles) of ownership.i have taken my vehicle in to the dealership numerous times, with documentation, and they say they can find nothing wrong.i have sent several letters to the fords dispute settlement board.they stated in their summary that i could not be helped because i have not been inconvenienced enough.i hope i can get some assistance with this.ford has refused to assist me.my vehicle, just today, again hesitated and chugged for some time.it is like the fuel is not getting to the carburetor.this vehicle is dangerous.lucius (bud) angell

I drive a 2002 ford sport trac with following problems that can not be corrected by the dealership.1) the fuel tank is not properly vented, because the last 3-4 gallons could take 3-4 minutes to accomplish while refueling. 2) while drivingbeteen 60-65 mph on the interstate and following the dealership's instructions, the best that can be accomplish is 15-16 mpg. 3) the over-head temperature can not be calibrated, it remains 4-5 degrees off.

The problem is with the design of the fuel tank/vapor recovery system.i was told by the dealer that when the fuel tank is full fuel splashes into the vapor recovery canister and causes the car to stall.there is no fix for the problem.ford engineers have been contacted and are working on the problem.i was told it would be 60-90 days for a solution.in the meantime i was told to keep the tank 3/4 full or less.the problem is that i was not told of this design problem when i purchased the vehicle.if it is a design problem then every sport trac should be effected.it is a safety problem because the 4 times the vehicle stalled on me three of them were in the middle of a turn.all of a sudden i had no power steering or brakes.even for myself , a large male, i had trouble completing the turn.i shudder to think bout what would have happened if my 105 pound daughter had been driving the car and it had stalled during a turn.if this is a design problem, then people need to be warned when they purchase the vehicle.not filling the gas tank completely doeswork, no stalls occur.thank you.tim cole.*nlm *nlm**dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis*768014

This discrepancy applies to a explorer sport trac new from a dealership in sept 2001.the vehicle "check engine" light illuminated just before the vehicle reached 15,000 miles. The owners manualstated that if the light did not go out after 3 consecutive cold starts to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was in the window for servicing at its 15,000 mile check-up anyway, so i took it to the dealer and showed them the "check engine" light.i expected the vehicle would be finished with its regular maintenance and the check engine light problem fixed in a day or two.i was wrong, and from reading similar problems reported by other owners, it appears this could be a trend for the sport trac model- if not for the entire explorer genre. The dealer informed me that the fuel pump was leaking and it was what was causing the check engine light to illuminate.then i remembered that i had often noticed drops of fluid on the driveway each time i backed out.at the time i thought it was condensation from the air conditioning system.i didn't care what it took to fix it because it was covered by the warranty.the dealer had to order a whole new gas tank, because as it was explained to me, the fuel pump was integral to the fuel tank.the fuel tank and pump assembly was not in stock and had to be ordered from the factory.the dealer supplied a rental car while the sport trac was being repaired. It took 2 weeks for the dealer to receive the fuel tank and pump.after they received it, it only took took a couple of hours for the technician to install it and check it out.the vehicle was properly repaired and i no longer see any droplets on the driveway, nor is the check engine light illuminated.most of the two weeks the vehicle was at the dealership was due to awaiting parts. Any fuel leak should be considered critical for obvious reasons.i asked the dealer's representative if the tank/pump problem was a common problem for the model and they denied it.

While drivingvehicle dies out, butwill restart. Tookvehicle to dealer, and the dealer reprogrammed the fuel system.the first two failure, the vehicle started up in 3 to 5 min. The third failure, the most serious, it took approx. 10 min. To start in heavy traffic. Consumer took to dealer. Two months later, vehicle quit running at 45 mph. Consumer limped home at 5 mph, let idle for 10 min. Then it ran fine again.*ph

While driving vehicle stalled. The consumer pulled over and restarted the vehicle. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

I purchased this 2002 ford explorer sporttrac in october of 2003, with 25,000 miles on the odometer. There have been four occasions that my vehicle has run out of gas, with the gasoline gauge reading between 1/4 and 1/2 tank reading on the gauge. I took the vehicle to donley ford in galion, ohio and they stated that there was nothing wrong with the computer. I was wondering why this item wasn't covered under the warranty. And i need to know what i must do to get this problem resolved? thank you for your consideration and i will hopefully hear from you.

When i would make a sharp left hand turn and use the brakes the brakes would pulsate and would not stop the truck right away. It would act like it had hit ice and its was the middle of summer. It would still move about a foot. I took it to a shop to have it looked at and was told he gets alot of ford's that do this and they don't have a recall on this. The shop replaced the part in the hub or wheel not sure and now its fine but it cost me over 500.00 and i only have 50,000 miles on it. I know that parts wear bout but this was a failure of a part that should not have gone bad. Also the electric door lock button in the truck stops working, the open section works but not the lock button.

2002 ford sport trac 8 year old child broke door handle when trying to open door with child lock on. 5 year old child broke the other door handlethe same way. Something needs to be done about this. These handles are not heavy dty enough for the weight that is forced on them when trying to open even with the child lock off. These automakers should be forced to stop using the public as guinea pigs to find out what problems they have and then never issue recalls. They just modify it on the next model and blow off prior owners. The handles actually cut my daughters hand when it broke. It is utterly ridiculous. Also the brakes on the same vehicle. I have had to replace the caliper on the pass side twice and they eat brake pads up like mad. It is not driving habits that caused this it is a design flaw. No wonder they went to 4 wheel disc brakes(another wait and modify routine) i'm sure this was their fix for that problem and they avoided another recall. We pay thousand of dollars for these vehicles they should pay the thousands of dollars to fix their engineering and qc departments lack of detail when testing these vehicles. Thank you for anyone caring.

Rear inside door handles snapped off when pulled by 2 year old while child safety lock was on.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. The contact stated that the door latches stopped working and the contact could only get in and out of the vehicle by using the outside door latch on all doors. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the main door module for the front driver side door needed to be replaced. It was unknown if the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was not available.updated04/13/15*ljthe consumer stated it is not possible to enter the vehicle using the outside door handles. 3 out of 4 handle failed. 2 out of 4 inside door handles failed.updated 6/29/2015

The rear automatic doors will not open from the inside the consumer has checked the child locks, and they are not on.the manufacture and dealer states not covered under warranty.consumer purchased new inside rear door handles from the dealer and replaced them.

Passenger side rear door will not open except for from the outside.

Back seat door handle were in child lock positions and broke when pulled to open. First the passenger side and then the driver side. The one on the driver side was broken by the dealer when they were doing the front driver side bolt recall. Of course they say they didn't break it. The seat back adjustment was also broken during the bolt installation. I only had 37,000 miles on the truck but the warranty had expired. They want $300 per door handle. This is a "death trap', as you cannot exit the back seat if the power is not working ,as you can't even put down a window to open the door from the outside if the electric is off. I am sure that i am not the first person to have the plastic handle break! i need to know if any recalls are out regarding both these problems. Ford says "no"

Consumer complained about astalling problem. Vehicle was taken to dealer. However, the problem had not been corrected. Also, right rear door locks malfunctioned, and door couldn't be opened except from the outside.

No decernable events led up to the total failure of the vehicle's keyless entry system. The remotes ceased to function. Replacing batteries did not help. Remote capability to lock doors from outside or inside ceased at approximately 45k miles. Keypad ceased to dunction at same time. Dealer wants $75/hr to 'look and see; what problem might be. I suspect abrasion in the wiring harness contained within driver's door.

Manual transmission and parking brake 2002 ford explorer sport trac 39800 slave and master cylinders replaced at 700.00 in january 2008.first incidence occurred december 24, 2007. I was actually pulling into grandma's drive on christmas eve and tried to back up into a space when the vehicle was stuck in place blocking everyone in. It did finally work. Then at a shopping center it would not move forward when stopping for pedestrians to cross and then going through an intersection when shifting it just stopped between 2nd and 3rd wouldn't move into any gear. It was stuck between gears and would not move.i was blocking an intersection when i now had a red light.eventually, i did get it moving to my home, but had it towed to the mechanic since it just would not move at all once restarted. I wonder if the abs failure in august 2007 caused this problem.the malfunction of the abs would cause stress on the transmission with the abs coming on randomly at any speed.please see my brake failure complaint and also defective caliper complaint(caliper occurred at only a few thousand miles).the parking brake release is still a problem.you must put your foot under the foot pedal of the parking brake to get it to release completely. The light may go off but the emergency brake is still engaged.

Transmission problem. O/d light blinking. Transmission instantly started to slip in 3rd gear under acceleration. Over 8,000 complaints listed but ford says that is not enough for recall. This transmission has a history of problems, that can cause major problems while driving. Biggest one is lose of acceleration in traffic. This transmission has a lengthy bad history. It is the 5r55 series transmission, starting with the faulty solenoid pack. If you look at this transmissions history, you will find the same complaints about it over and over again, slipping while in gear failure to shift, o/d light blinks then goes out, trans failing at 50,000m, 60,000m. I am on my second pair of tires and the transmission is failing. I drive less than 8700 miles per year and maintain my vehicle very well. This type of failure should not have occurred. I think ford is aware of the problem but refuses to do anything about it till they will be forced to do something.

Driving one day the od off light began flashing now it shifts hard and clinks and clacks going down road

On feb.12 2016 still no dash warning lights my ford trac..i left my home in drive moved onto highway 66, the truck would not shift as i tried to increase my speed up onto the 66 highway the rpm ran up only, i had to shift into second gear to get off road drove back home. Now the truck will not move when shifted into drive or reverse. I only had in 2nd gear this is a automatic transmission.fluid is still okay. What is wrong with this truck?.milage is 123242

Od light flashing, rebuildstransmision and nothing change, i see a lot of complains about this problems on explorers, rangers and mustangs

The body mounts have deteriorated to a point that they are crumbling and are not supporting the frame to the body and need to be replaced for safety reasons.the transmission failed without any warning and had to be rebuilt.neither of these problems should exist on a vehicle that is well maintained and has only 52,000 miles.these problems appear to be common with this vehicle and need to be addressed by ford.

After making abrupt stop half mile before incident to avoid accident, i came to a stop at a stop sign. When i went to enter a main highway, my transmission slipped and left me non mobile in the intersection, almost causing me to get hit broadside. Had to get out in traffic to push my vehicle off highway. Many exact transmissionproblems for this vehicle already posted on internet i see. Very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. While attempting to shift into park, the gear shifter fractured behind the cluster. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

There was not warning lights on dash, truck slowed down then engine raced up all on its own turned i turned off road shifted to nutral and sat until the racing stopped continued on to auto part store where they plugged into engine it read strange codes..

Malfunction with 4x4 high and low settings.it initiates itself from auto setting causing difficulty making turns and may ultimately cause significant transfer case/transmission damage (as i am told).

I own a 2002 sport trac, at about 46000 miles mi transmission started to miss shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear, it took about 3 to 4 seconds for the transmission to get into the next gear, so i took it to the dealer where i usually have the truck serviced thinking that it just needed a fluid check due to the fact they performed a transmission fluid change at about 30000. When i went back to the dealer i was advised that the transmission had a problem on the fluid lines and the transmission had to be taken out to be rebuilt, so i asked why was this happening and they stated that there was a problem with the gaskets been worn out inside the transmission.but they couldn't specify if this was a factory problem or a owner abuse problem, so when i asked if there was a transmission recall by the manufacturer (ford) on this type of trucks the answer was no. Then i was advised that my truck was out of factory warranty which is 3 years or 36000 miles and if i wanted to have the job done it had to be self financed, so i asked for an estimate which was about 18 hours labor @ $100 p/h and $500 in parts totaling $2300 and finally after calling ford and complaining about this$30000 truck having a faulty transmission and getting a "your truck is out of warranty, and we don't have any other trucks with the same problem" i finally paid the repairs out of my pocket which i personally think should not be happening on a almost brand new truck.

2002 ford explorer sport trac with just 51,000 miles had continuous problems with breaks, rear-end seals and finally needed a new transmission.since it was out of warranty by mileage, we had to replace it ourselves.in talking with several mechanics, both at dealerships and independent, they made comments in reference to the fact that they were seeing this frequently.we emailed the ford corporation and they still have not responded.

I never have any warning before my transmission slips while driving my 2002 ford explorer sport trac. My transmission slips when it shifts from 2nd gear into 3rd gear, after the transmission slips my od dash light begins flashing; this problem has been happening since the first month i that i have owned (april 2007, with 77,000 miles). I have attempted to get the dealership to diagnose the problem, but they will not touch it unless i paid $195. I cannot afford to have that done unless the cost goes towards a repair. I have researched this problem on the internet and i found numerous complaints about this transmission issue happening.

I am very concerned about my 2002 ford explorer sporttrac. I bought it with 1600 miles on it already in march 2002. On 9/6/03, i had it towed in for a continuous reving between 1&2 and black smoke coming out of the tail pipe. The truck had already been stalling during the previous months whenever i wanted to speed up. Ford had my truck for about 2 1/2 weeks, replaced my transmission from the factory. The service man told me they had to send for yet another transmission - that even ford was stumped with the problem so just sent them another transmission. I got my truck back and it worked fine. Then, the stalling started happening periodically again and again. I took it in again - they said they could not find a problem. I complain about it every time i take it in for servicing. I also complain about the constant front passenger wind noise; they initially said there were leaks and even though i still complain, they now say there isn't a problem. I asked about the lemon law and the salesman who sold me the truck (i bought it in another city) told me the same exact problem has to happen 5 times.i am not happy with this situation. What can i do? i have now read other instances in this web site that other people have experienced the same thing. My truck now has almost 32,856 miles on it. I responded '0' to 'number of failures' - i don't know what is meant by this question. Yes, my transmission failed.

O/d light flashing on my 2002 ford explorer sport trac.

Multiple defects with the transmission and the drive train cause the vehicle to stop operating causing a huge safety risk to the driver and passengers.i have read online that this is a huge issue with this make and model and ford refuses to issue a recall.

While pulling onto a busy hwy. In eastern utah my transmission without warning just started slipping and i had to quickly manually down shift the automatic and hope that it would go to avoid getting broad sided by a semi that was bearing down on me. When i got to a place that was safe i stopped and found that 1st and reverse gears were gone.

I am having problems with my 2002 ford explorer sport trac transmission and am being told that it needs to be replace at a cost of 3200.00 of which i can not afford right now as i live on a fixed income, there is a known problem with this transmission that ford motor company will not address.... Please make ford fix this problem i need my car to get to work.

Vehicle hangs up in park almost every time it is used; very difficult to get it into a drive or reverse gear; generally must be turned off and restarted in n to get moving again.

Transmission fails to act on acceleration into traffic, there is a delay in speed pick up whichcan cause a near rear end collision with other vehicles. Not sure if it is the on board computer or a failure of the low pressure seals as discussed with car dealership.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac.while driving 45 mph, the contact noticed that the transmission switched to a lower gear.in addition, the overdrive light illuminated.the contact noticed that the vehicle would lose control slightly when the failure occurred.the failure occurs everytime the vehicle is driven.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the vin was unknown.the current mileage was 150,000 and failure mileage was 148,000.

Vehicle stalls mostly when shifting from 3rd to 2nd gear.vehicle has stalled at least 20 times, taken to dealer 8 times. Dealer could not remedy, fordwas buying vehicle back.

Bought from dealer, used with 15000 miles.after 300 miles had to have transmission rebuilt (tranny warning light and vibration under acceleration, upshift 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd).only happened occasionally.three weeks after rebuild noticed vibration at slow speeds, but could not replicate on demand.dealer could not repeat vibration and returned it with no action.one week later transmission warning light illuminated on 2 different days.taken to dealer for evaluation today.i'm concerned that there may be an inherent problem with the transmission

O/d light flashing. Now i have to fix the transmission. Read all the comp. And looks like everyone is having this problem. I totally agree that ford should recall the explorers. It has cause a lot of trouble and money to a lot of people.please help. If transm. Locks it could cause a major accident.

The last few months the vehicle has been sluggish in power and shifting at the wrong times.we brought it into the ford dealership.we had them do a transmission flush since it was time, the vehicle had 37,000 miles.the dealership didn't know what was wrong with the transmission.they could hear and feel the problem but could not give us any answers.i picked up the vehicle after having the flush done.on the way home the overdrive light started flashing.this was new.i turned it around and brought it right back.after 2 weeks of going around with them, they finally find metal shavings inside the transmission and tell us we need a new transmission!this is a weekend car with only 37,000 miles on it.this is unacceptable!i contacted ford directly they said they would look into if there was any program out there for us.now again 2 week later i spoke to the ford service manager and he said that he is unaware of any program that can help us. He said there was a program where ford was repairing the transmissions as a good faith repair but that ended last year.now i am stuck having to pay $4000 to replace my transmission on a practically new vehicle.

Bought my 02 sport trac in 04.it had transmission fluid leak repaired by original owner at (20,000 miles) in 03.in 05, at 55,000 miles, transmission fluid leaking in original location plus another.repaired by ford and i was allowed a po5 payment program.after 15,000 miles from this repair, transmission fluid again leaking.torque converter replaced, along with repair to seals.ford district manager refused telephone contact to discuss.ford refused accepting responsibility, including financial assistance.transmission on this trac now has been pulled three times after four fluid leaks.i am still making payments on last repair.local ford dealer, upset with my agitation, informed me that at now 70,000 miles, i should expect the need for repairs! ha!

Clutch pressure plate blew out the entire clutch, transmission and deployed the airbags.the truck has less then 25,000 miles and at the time was less then 2 years old.i was informed that this normally happens in race cars and that i was lucky it did not blow up thru the floor board causing injury.i was informed by the ford service center in anchorage that due to the bluing of the metal (which indicates overheating) that is normal wear and tear.i am still in the process of trying to get them to honor the warranty.i have been given a rough estimate of $4000.00 to 5000.00 for parts and labor.i was informed by ford that i needed to contact my insurance carrier after they originally said that since it was the clutch pressure plate that it would be covered by my esp warranty plan.

My ford explorer sports tac had approximately 50,000 miles on it when i starting hearing some winding noise in the rear end.so i decided to remove the differential cover to pull the axles to see if the axle bearings were bad and come to find out that both carrier bearings and pinion bearing were shot!i can't believe that after 57,000 miles on a truck that i had to spend $600.00 dollars in parts and labor to replace these parts on a ford truck "built ford tough"!the mechanic could not believe he was replacing theses parts at 57,000 miles when it should be more like 200,000 miles!

Seat belts difficult to disengage and secure.nar 1/21/2002

The body mount insulators deteriorated and the body could come loosefrom the chassis. Ford wants over 3000 dollars for this repairwhich is an obvious material flaw.

Re: 2002 ford explorer sport trac.it appears that the upper bolt on the driver's side high back seat, that attaches the seat recliner mechanism to the seat back frame, has fractured and the seat back is permanently in the reclined position. This makes driving very cumbersome since i have no back seat support while i am driving. I was driving on a highway when this happened. Luckily, an accident was avoided. I just discovered that a recall exists for this problem so i contacted ford at 1-800-392-3673 and entered the recall id 03s04 and the response was that the recall id did not exist. Can i still get my seat fixed via this recall? note that the date submitted for the incident is an approximate estimate.

While driving at various speeds black smoke would came from the tail pipe. Consumer could smell gas fumes inside the vehicle. . drivers rear door will not open from the inside. Drivers side seat molding is falling off. Center duct loose on dash. Drivers seat cushion lost its form.

While driving, the drivers seat reclined into theback seating area causing loss of control of the vehicle. After pulling off the road and inspecting the seat, the frame of the drivers seat fractured causing the backrest to separate from lower portion of the seat and override therecliner handle.

1 at approximately 45 mph vehicle went into a slide right rear axel broke off causing a rollover this occurred on wet pavement !2 drivers seat went into the reclining position, ejecting the driver into the rear seat causing his head to go through the passenger side rear door glass , braking bones in his left hand ,contusions and severe trauma to head and neck medical records and pictures available !3 the vehicle was a total loss .i am in possession of the failed seat it was repaired prior to the accident because of a factory defect ford motor co notified there has been no personal contact by their rep.

Driver 's sideseat recliner bolt broke. The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact noticed that the brake pedal was pulsating, accompanied by an abnormal grinding noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician advised the contact that the front and rear brakes would have to be repaired. After the repair, the contact noticed that the brake pedal would feel spongy when depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician advised that two of the abs sensors were faulty and were overriding the brakes. The mechanic disconnected the abs sensors. The contact did not experience any failures after the sensors were disconnected.the approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

In the morning or whenever damp my front brakes lock up when driving, then stopping..

Defective brake caliper 2002 ford explorer sport trac with less than 6000 miles at time of incidence approximately november 2002.a brake caliper was stuck on after putting on the brakes while in motion. The vehicle had to be towed to a garage. The caliper was replaced and the rotor was damaged but still usable. I also had problems with the abs malfunctioning where the brakes would not stop the vehicle(summer, dry roads).the manual transmission slave and master cylinders were replaced (do have these parts). The abs and transmission problems occurred between aug 2007 and december 2007.the vehicle had 38000-40000 miles and lightly driven.currently the vehicle has less than 470000 miles and has been driven 6.5 years.the vehicle was never used for towing.it was used primarily for taking children to school, activities, and family vacations.

The ford recall for cruise control switch is a joke.i just had the dealership perform the repair on my 2002 ford explorer sport trac and was surprised to find they only installed a fused jumper instead of replacing the failing switch.this is a safety issue not only because of the potential for fire but also the switch failure could cause a loss of brake fluid pressure.with the jumper installed a failure would blow the fuse and remove the switch from overheating but the switch could still leak brake fluid onto the hot exhaust manifold.i talked with the service rep and asked why ford doesn't replace the switch.he stated " good question, probably because the jumper is cheaper " .after spending $30,000.00 for a vehicle you would think replacement of the switch would be a minimal cost to the ford motor company.i was considering getting a new ford sport trac but will look to another manufacturer for my next vehicle.fords safety awareness and responsibility sucks.

While applying the brakes at approximate speed of 3 to 5 mph, anti lock brakes activate. Ford dealership had the vehicle for7 days, replaced the anti lock brake sensor and advised me that the vehicle was fixed. As soon as i left the dealership, i noticed the same problem. To date, ford has not fixed the problem, or refunded my money for the repair that was not necessary (anti lock brake sensor.)

Brake failure 2002 ford explorer sport traconly 38000 mi when this occurred in aug 07. I almost hit the back of a school bus when dropping my children off at school.the brakes would grind and not stop the vehicle and sometimes pulsation would occur at any speed.it was like the antilock braking system was coming on when it shouldn't(summer dry roads) and then getting stuck in the brake release state. So when trying to stop the vehicle with the foot pedal, the antilock braking system was working against your braking action. This causes a very scary feeling when you have your foot to the floor and the vehicle still remains in motion. The brake pads and rotors were replaced, but not the problem. The next incidence occurred in a busy intersection when we were almost hit by oncoming traffic because the vehicle wouldn't stop at a red light.when taking the vehicle to the mechanic i almost hit 2 pedestrians in a crosswalk at a stop sign. The vehicle just kept on going and i quickly beeped the horn for a near miss of a man and his little boy. The mechanic told me there is something wrong with the antilock braking system which causes the brakes to malfunction. He sent us to another mechanic and he said this is a defect in certain ford explorer models. The antilock braking sensors, along with the location of them is the problem.he said to fix this it would cost anywhere between 300-600 depending on what else was damaged, but he stressed driving the vehicle like this is an extreme safety hazard. I was upset because of the low miles on this vehicle. It was only over warranty miles by 2000 but 5 yrs old. I could not afford to fix this so i was instructed to pull the fuse on the abs because it was unsafe to drive with the abs. I have three children and this is my only transportation. With the abs fuse pulled i do not have the problem, but lacking abs. Ford needs to stand by there product and offer a recall on this completely unsafe malfunction of the antilock braking system.

I've had two incidents where the left rear brakes has locked up: first, after entering parking garage from snow covered streets 02/21/03.second, making a left turn from a complete stop while raining.loses traction over bumpy road ares and dips.

2002 ford explorer sport trac premature front brake pad wear, particularly the front inside pad wore down to rotor.had 30,000 ford inspection and was only 50% worn on front, at 34,000 miles the pads was worn out and the local dealer bill alexander ford said thats nominal.

I purchased this vehicle used at 22,000 miles from local ford dealer.at 27,380 ford dealer furnished multi-pointinspection,showed no brake issues. The vehicle hada difficult time slowing down when the brakes were applied. Taken to dealer for repair of the brake pads four times, but the problem recurred. Manufacturer was contacted by owner.

2002 ford sport trac- vehicle has less than 40,000 miles on it. Had to have brakes and rotors replaced. Brakes were replaced and rotors turned first time at 21,532 miles on 01-19-04. Complained several times about excessive brake dust, rotors were turned again at 26,885 on 08-27-05.on august 23, 2005 while driving, vehicle just stopped, had towed to ford dealership and was told it was the air flow valve. Asked ford to fix and also change oil, service called back to say i needed new brakes and rotors needed to be turned. Gave permission to fix. Received another phone call shortly after saying rotors could not be turned they needed to be replaced. Called ford customer service in michigan as was told that brakes were only under warranty for 12,000 miles. Having had the rotors turned twice and then replaced and having less than 40,000 miles on vehicle seemed excessive.

Dealer fixed them the first time. Caller said yesterday she heard a noise and took it in and was told it was the rotor. Today bell tire co. Is fixing the second mishap. Manufacturer has not been contacted yet. Caller does not remember when the first time was.

The contact owns a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, there sudden acceleration and a jerking movement when the gear was shifted. The steering wheel began to move erratically from side to side. The contact crashed into another vehicle from the passenger side before crashing into a retainer wall. Body mount cab bushings are deteriorating so badly they flake off in your hand if you touch them.

Severe deterioration of the body mount bushings to the point where they crumble when touched. Inferior material.

Ford explorer sport-trac 2001-2005 thebody mounts are crumbling, known defect on all these vehicles, inferior rubber - causing exposure of body to frame. Potential safety issue - could very likely can cause roll-overs as the rubber disintegrates there is no support between the body and the frame. Ford is aware of this defect but has not done anything to rectify the problem.

Body mount bushings have deteriorated.the car is only 8 yrs old.i looked today after hearing a cracking/popping noise and the drivers' side front bushing (there are two on each so, technically, bushings) are almost completely gone.the passenger side and 2 middle mount bushings are also cracked and deteriorating.i have confirmed that this is exceedingly premature and essentially unheard of in cars this age.in fact, i've been told in cars 20 yrs old that often the bushings are still fine.early deterioration is unsafe and, apparently, not uncommon in these trucks.thus, i wanted to report it.

I am experiencing a loud clanking and crashing sound emitting from under vehicle while driving on public highways with minimal bumps at various speeds with increased roll movement while cornering. After investigation, i found the body mounts to be crumbling apart, body mounts missing large chunks of material and other body mounts are soft and jelly like when touched. These ford body mounts have been engineered improperly and have reached a premature failed state. This affects the roll of the vehicle and may pose grave danger to vehicle passengers when performing a lane change or any vehicle roll maneuver and affects vehicle control. This is a major safety issue and needs to be addressed immediately. After a internet search, i have discovered this to be an issue with thousands of ford explorer sport trac owners and other ford trucks as well. I am the original owner of the vehicle. This vehicle has been in florida from 2002-2010, and in georgia from 2011-present and has never been exposed to salt, snow or any abnormal environment to cause this failure. This vehicle has not been modified in any way.

There is extreme deterioration of the rubber body mount bushings...these are what holds the cab to the frame. The ones on my 2002 ford explorer sport trac are so badly deteriorated that what rubber is left will crumble in my fingers.

The body mount insulators deteriorated and the body could come loosefrom the chassis. Ford wants over 3000 dollars for this repairwhich is an obvious material flaw.

Body/chassis mounts are deteriorating and crumbling.body is now loose on the frame and has slight movement.these mounts are not rubber like most; they are some sort of urethane composite.internet research and truck owner sites confirm this to be a common problem.ford does not see this as a safety/recall issue and has directed owners of suspect vehicles to your department.this particular vehicle has never been in salt or snow and has always been in north carolina.the cab shaking and rattling is causing movement that will undoubtedly effect the brake lines and steering column as they are attached to both the body and the chassis.ford is now using another compound for the mounts apparently in response to complaints.

The consumer was involved in an accident, the vehicle rolled over and the entire roof collapsed.the consumer stated the vehicles body was weak.

There is a hole in front bumper without a frill or guard which allows debris to enter directly into vehicle's radiator.

The engineering of the suspension is such that the truck is unsafe to drive on anything but a straight perfectly smooth road. Any dips, bumps, or curves may cause loss of control.

I currently own a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. During the thanksgiving holiday, while my vehicle was stationary, there was a spark, then a fire under my hood. The flame ignited and melted the speed control switch. Afterspeaking to my regular mechanic he mentioned that there is a recall on this piece and we should have it looked at by ford. Upon having it towed to a ford dealership they told me my vin was not included in the recall list and therefore would not be covered. I spoke to a representative with ford customer service who confirmed what the dealership service department had stated. When i asked how my vehicle could have the same issue as recall #09s09 (speed control deactivation switch recall) but not be included, all the representative would repeat is that the recalls are vin specific and there was nothing else she could do. My question is that if this is the same item/issue as the recall, then why isn't my vehicle covered in the recall? can you please provide me any assistance on resolving this issue? the vehicle is currently awaiting an estimate and being repaired at ancira ford in floresville, tx.

Received a letter dated 8/07 that the speed control of my vehicle,2002 ford explorer sport track, could cause a fire even when engine turned off.a month passes or two before i was able to take my truck to have the speed control disconnected.at this time the grubbs shop manager informed me that currently no parts were available to fix the speed control.i should think that since 8/07 there has been time for the ford motor company to get these problems taken care of, and since i used to use my speed control heavily i'm tired of this waiting without any notification from the parent company so i' complaining.

The driver then pulled off the road and had the truck towed to a dealership.this occurred because the gas pedal cable had broken at the connections.

Recall on ford cruise control for 2002 sport trac truck. I received a letter from ford to have it disconnected last aug 2007. To this date they still have not received any to the dealers to repair the problem. Looks like ford is dragging their feet.

Ford safety recall notice received approx 6 months ago.apparently the cruise control system likes to start fires.i continue to be told by the dealer the parts necessary to prevent the failure are 'not available'.this is incredible.how is ford allowed to get away with thousands of vehicles on the road that can catch fire at any time?obviously, given how much time has gone by, ford is thumbing their nose at both the consumer and the government.

I received in the mail a letter from ford motor company to install a fused wiring harness into the speed control system of my vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). I have called my local service dealer several times, since august of 2007. The service manager has always told me that parts are not available and to call back. I have called 5 times, including today, 07 april 2008. I do have a 2002 explorer sports trax. I am having a difficult time getting my vehicle repaired in a reasonable time and without charge.

I received a recall on my ford vehicle for the speed control. It may leak causing an underhood fire. I need to have a fused wiring harness installed into the speed control system. According to ford dealerships the part is not available at this time. This is a safety issue with me due to the fact that i park my truck in my garage that is attached to my home. I do not want my home to burn down and do not want a fire to start under my hood while driving either. Please help it has been 6 months since i received the recall.

Ford recall august 2007, faulty cruise control, 2002 explorer sport trac. Vehicle taken to dealer.parts not available.dealer made temporary repair by disabling the cruise control.as of 2/5/2008 vehicle is still without cruise control.dealer claims parts not provided by ford.

There is a "line of separation" between headliner along the top offront windshield.can feel air coming into interior cabin.consumer is concerned glass may enter interior if hit.
