My husband had a car accident on 2/22/2019 with a dodge tam. The ram hit my husbands expedition and non of the airbags deployed. The accident happened at about 40 mph while my husband was sitting at a turn site. The other driver was driving towards my husband and hit him with his truck. My husband estimates the other driver was going about 40 mph. The other driver smashed into my husband as he was idle waiting to turn.my kids are hurt and my husband is hurt as well. The airbags did not deploy at all!

Frontal crash with considerable damage to the vehicle. Appears air bags attempted to deploy as cab filled with gas at impact, and deployment sites appear damaged (melted, burned, etc), but no bag deployment. This was the result of vehicle 1 crossing path of 2 while both traveling in the same direction at 65+ mph on i-285 in atlanta,ga, until driver 1 fell asleep failing to maintain their lane crossing in front of and impacting vehicle 2.

Vehicle in motion on highway when vehicle collided with vehicle in from airbag did not deploy and seatbelt did not retract

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that while at a complete stop at a red light, a vehicle driving at 60 mph failed to yield at the red light and crashed into the rear of the vehicle. Pushing the contacts vehicle into the vehicle in front. The driver's and front passenger air bag failed to deploy. The contact also advised that the driver's and the front passenger seat moved back wards independently when the contacts vehicle crashed into the vehicle in front.the contacts head hit the steering wheel caused injury to head, right cheek bone, neck, elbow, and back. The front passenger suffered injuries to the shoulder, neck, elbow, right arm, and back.the police department was present and the fire department was also present. A police report was filed.the vehicle was towed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted.the failure mileage was 102,057. *dt

I was turning left in an intersection going about 5-10 mph, a car ran a light and hit the passenger side at a speed of approximately 50 mph. The back door, front door, and front panel were affected. The front wheel fell off.my vehicle was moved sideways about 10+ feet. No airbags deployed. I would expect the passenger side airbags to have been deployed even though no one was in that seat. Please provide information. Thank you.

I hit a deer going 65 mph and the airbags did not deploy.

Rear-view cameras it is available for inspection. It has been reproduced by gullo ford dealership in conroe, tx. They finally replaced it in 2020 but it continues to black out monthly for periods of time.as far as i know only the dealer has looked at it. No warning it just goes black or distorted. Invoices, letter to ford, etc. Availablebut i don't know how to upload. Continuing problems we have had with the [xxx] back-up camera and why its not covered now by warranty. Over the 42 months from basically inception we have had the truck up there at least 6 times to have it looked at and repaired, it still goes off for weeks at a time even though they said they replaced it the last time. Well it still doesn't work. The rear-view cameras have been out of service probably 25% of the time we have owned it (42 months). To me, this is a major safety issue. We are grandparents with alot of kids in neighborhood. You can't see out the back of an expedition clearly without the camera. We also see ford has recalled your 2020 similar models for the same problem. The rear-cameras are not working now.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Rear widow defroster terminal fell off of right side of rear glass, crest ford of flatrock michigan replaced rear glass on 12/26/2017 under warranty. On 01/28/2019 the rear window defroster terminal fell of the right side of that rear glass after13 months of use, at that time i was over my 36,000 mile warranty and contacted crest ford looking for some help with this issue. Crest ford contacted me about a week later and stated ford motor would not cover the repair. On 03/01/2019 i appealed this directly to the ford motor co. Customer service and was told they would not replace the glass again. On 03/05/2015 i had a local glass shop replace the rear window at a cost of $262.00. I feel that this is a safety issue and want to know if this is common with this vehicle and is there any complaints about this with ford vehicles. Also i would like ford motor company to reimburse me the $262.00 dollars i spent on the new rear glass.was driving vehicle both times when the terminal fell off the glass, first time the defroster had just turned off and the second time it was on.

Car will downshift to 1st gear, engine rpm will go to 8000,and loss of power.this is a major concern with winter coming on, when one travels on ice or snow and car decides to downshift, guess what, one will wreck!!has been to two dealerships for a total of 23 days and they cant find anything.no codes are stored. Also from time to time when starting all electrical power will come on but no start.take key out wait a few minutes then key works.

Two weeks after purchasing my car i attempted to start it one morning. I got in the car and proceeded to put my foot on the break pedal and push to start. When doing that the engine did not start and the lights were flickering. I got out of the car took the key with me and the lights still flickered on and off. I had to get it jumped to take it to sun stare ford. Who stated nothing was wrong with the car. I also have issues with the parking aide. I will just be driving (steets or highways)and all of a sudden the parking aide will go off. I am no where near any cars. It does it speratically. It scares me and now i am not sure if when the sensors on the side view mirrors are on if they are correct when attempting to switch lanes. I can't trust that when i am backing up or parking what the sensors are beeping at. This happens almost every time i drive the vehicle. Again i took the care to sun stare ford and again no resolution and no explanation. Just laughed and said i don't know.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that the electronic touch screen monitor failed to operate. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

09-10-19my 2017 ford expedition has shut down multiple times while driving down the road. The dashboard lights go black and all power is lost, engine, power steering etc. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer on 09-08-19. While it was being towed, the engine compartment caught on fire and the tow truck driver had to put out the fire with an extinguisher. Fortunately, i decided to have the vehicle towed as this entire experience is a life safety matter.

Vehicle was 18 months old, manufactured in july 2017, issue arose is december 2019.the power steering went out.we were told it was due to a corroded positive battery cable.we bought a warranty but the repairs were not covered by the warranty because it is considered a "maintenance issue." the repairs cost about $1,000.

Started vehicle 2017 ford expedition el limited in morning 9/19/20 idle very heavy engine shook violently no throttle at all placed gas pedal to floor nothing. Ran diagnostics came back as p2112 throttle actuator control stuck closed. Unplugged wiring erased code. And worked fine. I drove it 4 miles throttle stuck closed while driving through busy intersection. Pulled offto side. Unplugged sensor again and car limped back home top speed 40mph.no warning signs previous to this and my warranty just expired 2,000 miles ago.vehicle has 102,000 miles on it. This is a manufacturer's defect and could have ended very badly. Vehicle dash now has check engine light with a wrench also.

Vehicle lost power while driving (in motion) on highway. No engine power, loss of steering control. Only 1,400 miles on vehicle from new. Dealer service indicated ground wire broke to pcm power control module. Caused fuse 77 to short open.

While driving the 2017 expedition el on a local street, the engine suffered an extreme reduction in power and limited speed to only 5 mph.after taking the vehicle into the dealer, it was determined the it was a failure of the throttle body.

Ticking noise in cyclinder

Truck has smelled like exhaust during hard acceleration numerous times. I have had to lower my windows to allow it to escape.

Without warning engine quickly slows to idle, runs rough, and / or dies. Wrench is displayed on dash & note to see manual / dealer. Code = p2112 = throttle body stuck. Turning off engine and then back on again - it works again. Happened 4 times in past week in various places while driving so stopped driving car until fixed. Very scary!

Truck started turning off while driving not marking anything in dashboard for 3 days. Then days after it turned off again but the engine light turned on. Now it's sitting in my garage because i took some parts apart to see the problem. My dashboard now marks 'check engine ' 'p2112'.

While driving highway speed ~65mph on a straight highway vehicle showed wrench light and loss engine power. Driver had to the side of the highway without speed control. Ignition switch was turned off and back on and the wrench light was gone and the vehicle drove normally. The wrench light turned on again at ~40mph on a city street going straight a few days later. The driver again had to pull to the side and reset the ignition to regain accelerator control. Vehicle diagnostic was run and no codes were stored.

2017 ford expedition.car was running normal, cruising at 45mph on city street, then unexpected loss of throttle, causing immediate deceleration.accelerator no longer responding to input. Wrench light came on; had to coast to a stop with traffic coming fast behind me.shut off car and restarted it, and was able to drive it to the dealership.dealer replaced faulty electronic throttle body.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact pulled over, waited for a while, restarted the engine, and was able to drive off safely. Later during the trip, the vehicle stalled again. The most recent failure occurred on june 26, 2019 and the service vehicle warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to marty franage ford (550 auto center dr, watsonville, ca 95076,(831) 722-4181) to be diagnosed, but no failure code was found.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made awareof the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle suddenly slowed from 35mph to 4mph and wrench light went on.limped 1 miles to nearest ford dealer whose svc dept was closed on sat.while waiting for a ride home(60 miles) i restarted vehicle and hour later and drove for 2 miles. All seemed fine but after reading multiple reports of people that attempted to drive in the same circumstances, only to be stranded,i decided to leave it at the dealer.they got to it on tuesday, and told me no error codes were available, therefore they could not do anything. They drove a 38 mile test with no issues. Since the throttle body problem is well documented on 3.5l engines i believe this is a matter of dealer not being able to get paid from ford rather than not being able to fix the problem.60k emission warranty applies vehicle mileage 53k.reported to ford customer complaint dept(india) and i have a case #.there has been no recall but there are a lot of cases reported on line on this issue. I believe it is a dangerous conditon that should be taken care of by ford immediately.service mgr at another dealership told me it happened to him in the left lane of thefreeway- also "we do a lot of them, but ford won't pay for the repairs without a trouble code.i am picking the vehicle up today and am very concerned about its reliability. I live in reno nv and drive in remote areas frequently, often will no cell service.

My 2017 ford expedition with 60,000 miles, loses power randomly, without any warning when driving. I have to pull over immediately, shut it off and turn it back on. Ford dealership service department said it's the throttle body and gasket.

Front blower motor working intermittently while in motion as well as stationary. Wire was hot to touch.

Problem occurred when vehicle was in motion and stopped.a/c blower motor stopped working after 2.5-3 years.when going to check, area was extremely hot to the touch.took to dealer and they replaced the blower motor.seems to me that this shouldn't occur on such a young vehicle (under 55k).could have started a fire.additionally, the rear a/c unit over the 3rd row seat went bad.total cost to repair $1300.

Electrical fire under the glove box.car was destroyed

The low beam headlights only reach out about two vehicle lengths. I've had it back to ford on four different occasions but they say they can't do anything about it. I've replaced the bulbs with ones that are supposed to reach out an additional 120 feet but they are just as bad.

The headlights are not bright enough to light up the road, you have to use the brights which is unkind for oncoming traffic.

On two separate occasions (10/22/17 and 10/27/17) vehicle lost power while driving on freeway, and "check service manual" warning appeared on dash. Vehicle had to be stopped on freeway and then restarted in order to proceed. Serviced by dealer; electonic throttle body determined to be defective, and replaced.

When driving at different speeds the throttle body randomly and immediately closes to idle without warning. This happened 4 times before it was replaced.it has been fine since.

I was driving the suv and all of a sudden the engine seemed to shake, the rpm's went up and the car would not accelerate. This was on a busy road and thank god i was able to pull over safety. The suv was not able to move and was towed to the ford dealer. I was told the throttle body physically looked good but the electronic in it was dysfunctional and it would need to be replaced. The cost was 755.93. This is 2017 ford expedition. Crazy and unsafe, what interesting was the service tech asked if i cleared the code p2112 from the obc. I said no i don't know how to do this. He told me then the car cleared the code so maybe that why it can happen over and over again. The was a history of p2112 but no active code. Interesting - safety problem

I was driving to a scheduled appointment with our local ford dealership for another issue which needed correcting when all of a sudden the vehicle would not accelerate.the cars engine was still running but no acceleration. I managed to get off the road, without being hit, and continued to the dealership. I let them know what had happened but they blamed the incident on a bad battery and i thought the issue was fixed.this is where the issue becomes catastrophic in my opinion. On november 1, 2020 my wife and two friends were in the vehicle and heading out of town. We live in a mountainous part of arizona. Fortunately we were on a fairly level stretch and in the right lane. The vehicle's accelerator again failed to function. We pulled off the road to the shoulder. Turned off the engine, restarted the car and turned around and went back home, about a 120 mile detour.we called the dealership to have them do a diagnostic. They determined it to be a failed throttle body sensor. This incident could have turned out much worse. Had we been passing a truck, caught in the left lane and on a steep grade with no acceleration, who knows the outcome. I contacted ford for them to reimburse me for the cost of the throttle body repair/replacement. They did cover that cost, but i also asked them to give me an assurance the replacement part would not do the same failure after so many miles.by the way our vehicle only had 55k miles when this happened.i have since learned from the dealership that this failure (bad sensor) occurs with frequency in similar vehicles. If the failure occurred in the scenario i mentioned above, who would know it was the throttle body sensor that failed, rather than a driver error. It is a failure that could be catastrophic, and probably has been without consequences. I asked ford why this wasn't a recall action, no response.where is the nhtsa?

Car stops accelerating at various speeds on numerous occasions, and cannot get vehicle to propel.no propulsion occurs. Must bring vehicle to complete stop, turn off, and turn back before it will accelerate. Large wrench appears on screen, but disappears after the car is restarted.safety issue because you cannot maintain speed or accelerate, was almost rear-ended and created potential accident trying to pull vehicle over.took two visits to the authorized dealer to diagnose the problem as their was no "code" apparent to dealer, and was almost rear ended in between those visits.vehicle owner quickly googled problem and noticed that n. Carolina consumers council had successfully petitioned nhtsa for this issue on other fords, but that recall appears not to have included these expeditions.dealer replaced the throttle body.

Vehicle started running rough going up a highway on ramp, check engine light came on, pulled over and shut off engine.restarted engine and it continued to run rough.a couple days later the vehicle stalled while accelerating into an intersection and again the check engine light came on.the electronic throttle body etb assembly has been replaced by the dealer.i feel this is a safety issue, and it should be covered under a recall!

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that the driver's door frequently opened without warning. The contact took the vehicle to thurby's riverside ford (4497 national pike, markleysburg, pa 15459, (800) 531-3303) where it was repaired, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 17v652000 (latches/locks/linkages), which applied to the 2015 ford f-150. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 5,000.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that while he and his wife were driving, the vehicle stalled. The wrench icon illuminated just before the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted after the vehicle was turned off. The failure recurred. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty and referred the contact to the nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owned a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that the vehicle would automatically downshift and stall when travelling on the highway at 70 mph.the dealer diagnosed that the issue was due to the transmission lead frame and recommended a replacement.the sudden downshift causes the contact's body to slam into the steering wheel and console. There are currently no recalls on the vehicle.the contact would be taking the vehicle to the shop for repairs. Manufacturer has not yet been contacted. The failure mileage was 80,000. The vin was not available.

While driving the transmission cooler line failed and broke in half causing all the fluid to pump out of transmission immediately and caused the vehicle to stop moving on a very busy fast moving road.vehicle has only 34000 miles on it and has been serviced only by ford.ford tells us the transmission now needs to be replaced at our cost and is not coved under their powertrain warranty.after inspecting the transmission line the entire dealership agrees that it was a defective part.

During acceleration towards 60mph- 70mph the truck will begin to vibrate a little, then the wrench light comes on. As you settle on a speed the vibration stops unless you have to slow down to speed back up. Once you pull over and turn the truck off for a bit and turn it on the wrench disappears.

When driving my ford expedition would automatically downshift with no warning at high speeds. When doing 55mph it downshifted, and threw me the driver almost into the stirring wheel. At another time it threw my 11 year old son into the dash. It felt like you was getting rear ended with a bad case of whiplash.

Vehicle lost power while driving (in motion) on highway. No engine power, loss of steering control. Only 1,400 miles on vehicle from new. Dealer service indicated ground wire broke to pcm power control module. Caused fuse 77 to short open.

Below please find my account of a very frightening event that took place when my 2017 ford expedition malfunctioned. In late august, 2018 we were on vacation in seattle, wa., visiting my son and his family.five of us were in my expedition and my son was driving.we pulled up to park by his house on a steep road.he put the vehicle into park, applied the parking brake, removed the keys, and proceeded to get out.there were three adults and two children (ages 7 and 4).all three adults got out and were helping the children out when the car rolled forward on its own.i was out of the vehicle on the passenger side.i tried to hold the door handle to stop the vehicle from rolling but it took off.my son who was outside of the vehicle also realized what was happening, jumped back in, and applied the brakes to stop the car.it rolled about 12 feet downhill before he could stop it.the two children were still in it.the street was on a very steep incline that i would guess to be about 25 degrees.if my son had not stopped the car it could have rolled about 100 yards through two intersections and into a house with the two children in it. I don't even want to think about what could have happened to them.we took the expedition to a ford dealership in seattle (ford of kirkland) to get it checked out.they stated that they could not find anything wrong.after returning home from vacation, we took it to the local dealership (bolton ford, lake charles, la. Where it was purchased new) and they said that they could find nothing wrong.what do i do now?can ford explain what happened and reassure me that it will not happen again?

Vehicle was pulled 3/4 into the garage with the back wheels on the approach of the driveway.vehicle was put into park and shut off.i returned to the garage 10 minutes later to find the vehicle had rolled down the driveway, striking a tree causing significant damage.vehicle was found to be in park and started up without any problems.in the last couple of days i have noticed inconsistency with the vehicle's shifter when placing it in park.i have seen it get hung up between reverse and park. This is a brand new fleet vehicle with 1049 current miles. It just went into service on july 5th.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden when i pressed the gas it was not working and so i used the brake to pull over. The wrench light came on. When parked car started shaking/grambling sound. Everything else working but the gas pedal did not go when pressed. Turned car back on and wrench light appear and car drives.

Vehicle in motion on highway when vehicle collided with vehicle in from airbag did not deploy and seatbelt did not retract

The passenger side seating position doesn't have a seating belt warning system.a concern for my 85 year old in-laws who are currently leasing the vehicle and assumed this feature existed on the vehicle.according to title 49 cfr 571.208 section 4.1.1.2 (b) vehicles should have front seat warning systems.ford has been contacted but don't seem concerned and said the vehicle just doesn't come with it.

Both front seats have reclined by themselves when getting in the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that while at a complete stop at a red light, a vehicle driving at 60 mph failed to yield at the red light and crashed into the rear of the vehicle. *dt

Middle row passenger seat that can fold and flip forward is loose. Bracket that attaches to floor of vehicle appears to be loose causing seat to rock significantly. Dealership claims nothing wrong with the mounting system.

Exiting the 215 northbound, we stopped and parked at a store.while parked the indicator light came on for low tire pressure.i did not pay that much attention because the car indicator light has come on before and the car had recently had its routine maintenance check.when driving was resumed the car began to wobble.assuming we had a flat, we attempted to drive to a more illuminatedarea to inspect the car and call road side services.thecar at this point was beginning to decelerate almost to a stop so i inched car onto an unpaved area.i assumed the car's slowing and stopping on its own was a safetyfeature.as i pulled to the side of an unpaved city road, i had my foot on the brake but not in the parking gear.the car was stationary as my sister exited the car and to inspect the tires. The right rear passenger tire was fully deflated. My two daughters were about to get out of the car so had unfastened their seatbelts.this is when the car made a quick sudden jerk forward, i pressed my foot on brake to make sure the car was at a complete stop and that was when it felt like a force had pushed the car to top speed, an sudden unintended and forceful acceleration.i attempted to brake but i had no control.i was tryingto avoid hitting the pole, but also had no control over the steering wheel.the car collided with a water valve/pole and chain link fence at top speed.

The brakes went out suddenly. After taking to a mechanic we were informed that the master cylinder had a catastrophic failure which resulted in leaking brake fluid corroding the brake booster. Research has led me to believe that this is a common problem found in these vehicles. Thankfully my wife was only backing out of the driveway when it happened so she did not have an accident.

Wife started car. Pushed on the brake to put it in gear. Brake pedal went to floor. Checked master cylinder. Cylinder was completely empty. Brake fluid leaked past seals in master cylinder into the brake booster, then got sucked into engine and burned. No warning lights came on at all.. Luckily wife was at the pool down the road from our house when it happened. She drove 5 mph back to the house.a four year car should not have a faulty brake master cylinder. Master cylinders should last for at least 10 years. Ford has a major problem brewing.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that while in the drive way the contact started the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal to place the gear shifter into drive and without warning the brake pedal went to the floor. The vehicle was towed to sarasota ford located at (707 s washington blvd, sarasota, fl 34236, (941) 366-3673, where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The repair was still pending. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000. The vin was not available.

The brake system went out while driving my 2017 ford expedition. The warning light came on indicating low brake fluid. I called ford about the issue to which they told the issue was not covered under the warranty. After some research there is a recall on the master brake cylinder and brake booster system on the f150 ecoboost.nhtsa campaign number: 20v-332. Ford's reference number for this recall is 20s31.the my expedition has they same issue . The f150 and expedition are the same under the hood.the vehicle is safety hazard due to this issue.

Started car, apply brake to shift into gear. All of the sudden, the brake pedal went straight to the floor and the low brake fluid light came on and the car started to roll so i applied the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. And put back into park.

Brake failed in parking lot and vehicle crashed into another car. A low brake fluid light came on and very shortly (1 minute) after the brake failed completed. Vehicle was serviced at dealer two months ago. Contacted ford corporate and ford dealer. Ford corporate said there is nothing they can do. Ford dealer unresponsive. This is a major safety issue. I have never heard of real issues with complete brake failure on a newer car. Very dangerous.

After driving in moderate rain for 15 miles and then braking in moderate rain, a loud grinding noise was heard, brake pedal became hard and no braking action was available.i was able to safely get the vehicle to the shoulder and come to a top usinguphill grade of the road way.the vehicle was taken to the woodhouse ford dealership in blair, ne.brake message light was on.the service technician wrote the following:"usind ids found code c109d-20 as the only code stored.performed vacuum system checks.checked for leaks through lines, passed.tested vacuum supply from intake at idle, about 19".tested vacuum from vacuum pump, found vacuum pump to intermit fail to produce vacuum.hoisted vehicle, removed and replaced vacuum pump.reassembled vacuum lines and roa tested vehicle to verify repair.post road test vehicle brake system functions properly at this time with normal pedal feel."

Total brake failure while backing up , almost hit another vehicle, shifted to forward to avoid accident, loss of brake fluid in master cylinder to brake booster. Exact symptoms as recall 20s31 with 2014 to 2017 f150. The expedition is on af150 chassis . According to dealer not under recall but probably should be. Out of warranty. Repaired on my dime. Replaced master cylinder and cleaned booster. Vehicle was in motion at time of incident. Just glad i wasn't on the boat ramp or highway

Breakfast fluid leaking, brake fluid light on. Found brake master cylinder leaking inside of brake booster.

The brake system went out while driving my 2017 ford expedition on the freeway. The warning light came on indicating low brake fluid. Was able to slowly make it to the nearest service station, as brakes completely failed, pedal to the floor. After some research there is a recall on the master brake cylinder and brake booster system on the f150 ecoboost. Nhtsa campaign number: 20v-332. Ford's reference number for this recall is 20s31. Brake master cylinder failed causing brake fluid in the brake booster and little to no breaking at freeway speeds. There is a current recall on same model year f150 with the same 3.5l eco boost engine manufactured out of the same plant as our expedition. Took off the master cylinder and the brake booster was filled with brake fluid. Suv has aprox 67k miles.

Total brake failure while backing up , almost hit another vehicle, shifted to forward to avoid accident, loss of brake fluid in master cylinder to brake booster. Brakes failed while driving. Mechanics found all brake fluid leaked internally from master cylinder into the brake booster. I have another ford vehicle that was recalled for this exact problem in 2017.

At times when making a left turn the left front wheellocksup in the turning position for several seconds and trying to steer out of the left turn is impossible until the wheel releases on it's own. Vehicle is in motion at the time of all incidents, on city streets, in parking lots, driveways. Reason unknown.

Vehicle will counter steer causing lane changes, increased steering effort, random changes in direction of travel.drifts to both left and right with no warning or notice.this appears more noticeable at lower to mid speeds 25-60. Its as if it's compensating for a drift or irregular road surface but it occurs on flat level surfaces.this is an ongoing problem that the dealership cannot seem to remedy after three visits.

Steering wheel is extremely loose and is almost detachable from steering column while in motion. The steering wheel can freely move up, down and side to side even when vehicle is in stationary and not turned off.concerned about steering wheel fully detaching while driving which could potentially cause collision and/or death.

Vehicle lost power while driving (in motion) on highway. No engine power, loss of steering control. Only 1,400 miles on vehicle from new. Dealer service indicated ground wire broke to pcm power control module. Caused fuse 77 to short open.

While driving without warning a steering assist fault popped up and i was un able to steer my expedition at 70 miles an hour now i am stuck and have get it towed after it almost caused me to wreck i've looked it up and it's a very common problem so was shock to find that it is not a recall it's going to kill someone

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that moisture would leak into all four doors of his vehicle after inclement. Due to the failure, the doors were unable to unlock or open during the winter as moisture would freeze in between the doors. The dealer was initially notified of the failure and referred him to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred him to nhtsa to file a complaint. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000

The rear shocks/struts have each failed twice so far. I have had both replaced once, and the rear passenger side replaced through ford. I am being told by el cajon ford the rear driver's side needs to be replaced again (and the passenger side also because they are supposed to be changed at the same time. I have the platinum warranty for ford, which covers the macpherson strut (which is what my vehicle has on the rear, it does not have individual shocks). I have had the vehicle less than 4 years, and am looking at putting the 5th set of shocks on the vehicle. For clarification, the macpherson strut has a shock as part of its assembly. It is not a separate unit, it is a component of the macpherson strut.

Ticking noise in cyclinder

Automatic running boards came down when door open, as usual. They then went right back up and pinned my dogs front paws, legs between running board and car frame. Vehiclewas stationary, in my driveway. I had to pull my dogs paws/legs out physically. Obviously painful. On the ring video that captured this you can hear my dog whining and struggling. I was told they see this consistently and the manual states owner is responsible.this malfunction is dangerous and cased injury, yet it is seen consistently per auto service tech at dealership. What if it had been my 88 year old mother? this could very well lead to her death at her age, had she been the one injured. Never made aware of issue at time of sale. I believe this malfunction is dangerous. And to be told they see this consistently, why is not made a more important issue? in this case the injury was to an animal. It could have been a child or as stated, my 88 year old mother. The undercarriage is cleaned every time it is washed.

Powered running board closed on my 5 year old's foot as he was entering from the passenger side rear door with both doors open on passenger side.i had to stand on the partially closed board and apply pressure to extract my son's foot.vehicle was parked in a parking lot with engine idling.

Battery bleed started on november 8th and has happened every 7 or 8 days since. This will be the 6th battery that has been installed without isolating the problem. This is a 1 year old vehicle. It ran perfectly for 1 year and 1 month. Had the oil changed at the dealership on november 1st and the problem started on november 8th. Jones motor company of savannah, tn. Has yet to find the problem. Researching the internet, i find that lots of fords have the same problem.

Merging onto a freeway, no other vehicles ahead, behind or beside, the driver side rear window spontaneously shattered.was going 60-65mph at the time.no outside factors around to cause the glass break.no foreign object found in vehicle.ford refusing to investigate root cause.ford's stance is an external factor caused the break unless more people come forward with same complaint.would not inspect tilting hinge mechanism for the broken window, inspect other intact windows or do any other inspection that i requested.was told that the only thing they did was take photos and determined that because glass was in the vehicle that it was not their problem.both dealership and ford's customer care hotline will entertain the idea of inspecting the vehicle or researching the batch of the glass manufacturer for root cause.i had only owned the vehicle for 6 days at the time.vehicle had 738 miles when purchased.approximately 1000 total miles on the vehicle at the time of the window break.photos were taken once vehicle could be stopped in a safe spot.drove approx 27 miles on the highway after the break before stopping.photo 3826 shows glass before having to make a sharp left u-turn that allowed much of the glass sitting on the side ledge to fall inside the cargo area of the vehicle.other pictures taken after taking the u-turn.

The contact leased a 2017 ford expedition. While attempting to park the vehicle with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle began to accelerate independently and crashed into a tree. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a concussion, lacerations to the left shin, and bad bruises to the right side of the neck and shoulder. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 25,600.

Last week, my 2017 ford expedition experienced a situation where whiledriving the vehicle suddenly stopped running. I was forced to coast overto the side of the road when this happened, as the engine was running butmy accelerator pedal was not operating and the vehicle would not move.fortunately, after shutting the vehicle off, i was able to restart it andcontinue driving. In the space of 24 hours this happened six (6) times.after the sixth occurrence, i drove to the ford dealership and theydiagnosed the issue as a throttle body and motor.

Vehicle suddenly looses engine power while driving and goes into safe (or limp) mode. Stepping on the accelerator does nothing, it doesn't even rev the engine, it's similar to being in neutral. It has occurred on 3 separate occasions, months between events - first, while attempting to accelerate onto an interstate highway, we suddenly lose engine power while attempting to merge into the right lane of traffic.we forced to slide over onto the right shoulder and stop. Second occurrence happened while driving down a city street.we suddenly lose engine power and are forced to turn onto a neighborhood street and come to a complete stop. Third time, again driving down a city street, suddenly lose engine power but there was no where to pullover or side street to turn onto.we forced to stop the vehicle in the middle road.luckily no one was directly behind us.in all cases, turning the engine off, waiting a minute, and then restarting the vehicle "fixed" or cleared the issue and we were able to continue driving. Noobd-ii codes thrown after the event. Ford dealer replaced the electronic throttle body and so far we haven't seen the issue.

Sitting at drive up atm vehicle in park engine running, after business transaction placed right foot on brake and moved vehicle from park to drive and instant independent full acceleration occurred. Brakes had no effect in slowing vehicle. Approximately eight seconds later crashed into vehicle on busy highway my vehicle front end totaled. Steering column collapsed, steering wheel bent, left area of firewall pushed in.. No airbags deployed..put seat and shoulder belts kept injures to minor contusions and bruises.

The electronic throttle body gets stuck closed.the engine stalls or goes into limp mode.at highway speed i then have to try and navigate a dead car to the shoulder or am stuck in the middle lane with cars going past at 70+ mph.this is a known defect in fords engine and other years/models are recalled.2017 ford expedition needs to be added immediately.this is dangerous.

While driving the 2017 expedition el on a local street, the engine suffered an extreme reduction in power and limited speed to only 5 mph.after taking the vehicle into the dealer, it was determined the it was a failure of the throttle body.

When driving at different speeds the throttle body randomly and immediately closes to idle without warning. This happened 4 times before it was replaced.it has been fine since.

While getting on interstate my 2017 expedition el 4x4 was shifting and coming up to highway speed , when it seemed to run rough and felt like it missed a shift.i let off gas pedal, engine roughness temporarily went away.now i'm getting closer to getting on highway , applied gas again and engine got rough running again and tool symbol appeared on dash .i lost all acceleration and power to wheels while trying to enter an interstate.very dangerous and life threatening if i did not have a long shoulder to pull off on.pulled over stopped engine.let sit for 5 or so mins.started up and tool symbol was gone.got on highway up to speed this time then same thing happened again. Rough running , lost all power to wheels, tool symbol appeared again but got the check engine light this time.luckily i was passing an exit and had time to get off interstate 77 before i got run over from behind. Stopped n restarted.got truck to my mechanic and they pulled a throttle body code on the truck.i had them reset code to see if it happens again because i have an ally extended warranty which we'll see how using that goes.i am driving truck with less issues trying to get code to appear again to take to dealer for a fix.have gotten the tool light to come on 2x but no check engine yet.

As i was driving down i-29 at 5:00 sunday morning with my wife and 4 children a truck passed me. It was 4 degrees outside, but the salt that the state had put on the road was melting the snow along the road causing the road to be wet with salty water. As the semi passed us, it sprayed the salt mixture onto our front windshield. I lost vision of the interstate, so i hit the wiper fluid lever. Nothing came out, so i tried it again. Again nothing happened. I could hear the motor running but nothing was coming out. Without being able to see, ihad to slow my vehicle and pull off the road without being sure what i was pulling on. I couldn't see anything out of the front window. We had 2 hours left to drive and the road didn't look to be any dryer ahead of us. We had to stop at several gas stations along the route just to wash the dirt from our front window, but if we were passed by anything we had to make sure to be aware of the fact that i could loose complete vision of the roadway ahead of us. Our rear wiper fluid wouldn't work either. The temp got to 10 that day. My wiper fluid never did work. Only after it sat in the garage for 2 hours would it even work. So i decided to go drive and see how long it would work for, 20 minutes before it stopped. It was 10 degrees when i tested it.so today i called my dealership, sioux city ford. I was told that i would have to go buy different washer fluid. I asked them if they used to different washer fluidin the system and that i would have to drain out the old stuff and put new stuff in it. I just had my car in for an oil change and they used the cheep stuff. The lady on the phone said that is all they have, and that if i request them to use anything different, we would have to buy our own and either bring it in, or fill it ourselves. We were going 75 when i lost complete vision of the road with no way to clean my window.

During a recent routine mileage based tire rotation and balance at an independent service center , the technician had difficulty placing the socket onto the lug nuts to remove them. He had to tap the socket wrench with a hammer to get the socket onto the nut. Techillustrated where the lug nuts had swollen and he had seen this on other ford vehicles. This factory lug nut is a 2-part assembly and swells over time to the point where a standard and factory supplied socket on the vehicle would not work properly if there was a situation where the tire needed to be changed .ie.. A flat on the side of the highway. This vehicle is less than 5 yrs. Old... I purchased a complete new set of 24 lug nuts before leaving. A true safety issue of one being able to use the vehicle equipment to safely remove and replace a tire without concern over whether the socket will fit the lug nuts and removing the lug nuts from the socket. I have opened a case with ford.

The contact owns a 2017 ford expedition. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to for maintenance however, it was difficult to remove the lug nuts. The contact stated that the lug nuts were swollen. The lug nuts were removed and replaced with a new improved set of lug nuts. Green ford (3800 w wendover ave, greensboro, nc 27407, (336) 292-8310) was contacted and the contact was informed that the lug nuts were not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

The contact owned a 2017 ford expedition. While the contact's spouse was driving 40 mph, the front driver's side rim exploded without warning. The explosion caused fragments to perforate the air bag sensors. The driver and passenger in the vehicle were struck by flying debris, which came up from under the hood of the vehicle. The driver was rendered unconscious from the impact. The vehicle then veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The driver and four other passengers in the vehicle sustained concussions that required medical attention. The contact was unsure if a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed destroyed. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000.
