Air bag light keeps coming on and off while driving.dealer can only check if it is on at time brought in no luck yet but why is it faulty.ford will not cover to look at so frustrated laws need to change on airbags and warranties.im told it is only covered in the first 36000 miles anyway.

I was taking my daughter to a dr appointment and the airbag light came on.it has gone off and on since not at a specific time but it always occurs when the vehicle heats up.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 50 mph he veered off the road, crashed into a couple trees and a mail box before he came to a stop. The air bags did not deploy. The entire front end was severely damaged. He sustained injuries to his back and knees. He was not taken to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 61,000.

The first occurrence was the transmission slipping on acceleration and stopping or going up hill.its been to our ford dealer where we purchased it and at first they felt it and said they fixed it but now everytime i take it in for that or the ac blower going off and on they say they don't feel or see anything it gotten ridiculous.in the freeway i-10 me and my son were trying to accelerate on and almost got hit by a semi truck the vehicle would not go fast enough.i wont bother with the dealership here in town they don't care. It has happened many times and now the air bag light goes off and on in temperature change it seems like.our dealer fixed the door handle but now any rain the inside of our door fills with water and they say its not there fault and wont fix that either.very disappointed with ford.spoke to them about the air bag and they also say they wont fix.we have had nothing but problems with this 40000 suv very dangerous to drive and its suppose to be a family vehicle....right we get no update or recalls info and our dealership is the worst i've ever dealt with

Was pulling out onto the highway and road was clear when checked then a car came speeding down the highway without lights and i wasn't able to get out of the way in time and that car swerved in the same direction i was going and hit my front driver side of my car...my car is supposedly equipped with front and side airbags but with the impact, as bad as it was, did not deploy either sets of airbags.the impact caused me to hit my head on the window and end up with a concussion.my car is only a 2007.faulty airbags?!

The sliding car icon displays quite often, always on dry pavement. Usually for a short time during that time the brakes do not operate properly.they act as though the abs have engaged themselves and make it almost impossible to stop.it has happened over 10 times to me in the 15 months that i have owned the truck.the dealer checked the problem and reported that there was nothing wrong.

Driver side power window operates very slow , sometimes stops when trying to close. Both driver and passenger windows freeze shut wont operate till car is has been warmed for several miles.

As soon as you start the vehicle the battery symbol displays on the dash, it goes on and off chiming repeatedly, then switches from battery symbol to wrench symbol and then my entire gauge cluster starts.everylight goes on and off repeatedly, the rpm gauge and mph drops to zero and the engine clunks really loud (while driving), the ac or heat will completely turn off and on, the headlights flicker and dim on and off at night while driving, bad vibration, loud growl type idle sound, the radio shuts off, when you turn the heater on it repeatedly clunks in the rear of the vehicle until you turn ac on again or shut it off, rear air suspension light goes on and off while driving. This all happens whenever it wants. I shut off the car and restart and the problem will stay gone and drive normal until it cools again and then restart the vehicle. This vehicle has been tested at 3 shops and turned away by all because they don't know where to start as they are scanning the vehicle and 17 codes came up. They started testing each item with a code and all came back as functioning properly. So i believe it's either electrical or one of the brains/computers of the vehicle?. It is becoming a safety concern and i need help.

Car horn sounding repeatedly, lights flashing, dash electrical indicators flashing, etc. Car will not start. Unless car remains locked, these events occur over and over throughout the day and night.car is completely unusable.this is a known defect that ford will not acknowledge nor correct and it has continued to build vehicles with this design flaw.nhtsa closed this issue with no action.

Vehicle started to intermittently and then permanently stop allowing the vehicle to be shifted from park after the vehicle was turned off. Ford's assessment was the that full shifter needed replacement at 70 thousand km (40 thousand miles).

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle jerked, vibrated abnormally, and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to grindstaff ford (2224 w elk ave, elizabethton, tn 37643, 423-542-4136) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ecm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

My expedition just turned off while driving about 45 mph, i felt my seat go back and the lock out light was flashing on the dash. Thought would be a simple fix when the ford mechanic looked at it said a wire hit the frame and burnt out the entire fuse box . 4 grand out of pocket!

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that while the a/c activated, there was a fuel odor entering the vehicle. In addition, the contact noticed that there was fuel leaking and both rear doors did not open. The contact stated in order to open the doors, the driver unlock button would had to be depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 08v057000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,689.

The ac blower would work at times and other times it would not blow any cold air. I took it to the local ford dealer and was told the original blower motor had defects and a new motor was produced. It also required new wiring and a new blower control cell would be required. Cost over $300.00. With this type of problem i would think it should be a recall and repaired by ford.

I have had multiple power window failures on my 2007 ford expedition. The front passenger and driver side windows will not operate due to failed regulators. The drivers side window has now failed twice. It was repaired in 2009.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that the hazard lights illuminated independently and would not turn off. After parking and exiting the vehicle, the contact was alerted by people more than once that the hazard lights were illuminated. As the failure progressed, both turn signals failed to work. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Intensity of the lighting supplied to the electronic message center (which displays mileage, odometer, remaining fuel mileage, fuel economy, compass, etc.) is provided through a photo cell on the dashboard. It is wired incorrectly, so that high intensify light (as in daylight) reduces the amount of light displayed. This is backwards. It makes all functions of the electronic message center (odometer, etc.), impossible to read in normal daylight conditions. Local ford dealership tells me that this problem is common to a significant number of ford cars and trucks for several years, including and more recently than 2007. A letter to ford did not provide any suggestions for repair.in order to read anything on this display in normal light, it is necessary to duck your head down and stare at it for about ten or more seconds. If this action has not yet caused any fatalities, i can't imagine why.updated 10/24/2014

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the gauges on the dashboard failed to illuminate during the day.the dealer stated that this was a normal occurrence.the vin was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 420.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.during the daytime, the contact was unable to read the instrument panel gauges.the dealer stated that the vehicle was manufactured in that manner and would be unable to make the repair.as of november 29, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the failure mileage was 16 and current mileage was 12,600. Updated 01-11-08.updated 12/31/07

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the indicators on the dashboard are not visible when they are illuminated in the daytime.the dealer stated that there was no remedy for the failure.the current mileage was 7,200 and the failure mileage was unknown.updated 02-01-08.updated 02/01/08

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving at 25 mph,the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to anauthorized dealer where the main battery was replaced. The failure mileage was 37,142 and the current mileage was 37,280.

I was driving my 2007 ford expedition merging onto the freeway, the traction control light came on, the vehicle then started to shake and shutter, at that point the vehicle started to slow down and applied pressure to the brakes while it made a rattling sound, it lasted less than a minute but felt like an eternity. While i was afraid, i eased off the gas to let it slow down, then i tried to apply light pressure to the brakes to avoid being in a accident, then the vehicle picked up and responded as normal. This has happened on 3 occasions. Very frightening!!! my mileage is only at 44,900.00 when it first occurred my mileage was around 38,000 miles.

Ant-skid control light flashed three times, started to come to a stop. The 2007 ford expedition started toshake, truck speed up, and in a turn almost hit on coming car. Park the truck drive it for 30 miles nothing happen again. Looking on line for more people having this problem. Truck has 60,000 miles on it.

Out of the blue the vehicle starts braking really hard, making loud banging noise, and shaking. It used to be once in a great while but now it's everytime i drive my vehicle ,sometimes i can't stop my vehicle.this is very dangerous in traffic. I've taken to the ford dealership multiple times yet my problem persists.

While driving on dry pavement at approximately 25-35 mph the traction control light will start to illuminate randomly.eventually staying on constantly. Pushing the traction control button will not turn off the light.turning off the car and starting it again will make it go away.one time when this happened the abs brakes engaged and the brakes had significantly reduced stopping power.i took it straight to the dealer and they did not see any error codes in the system.

Dry payment, shuttering and pulsing in steering wheel.applied brakes and traction light stayed on until i turned truck off.

Cars traction control kicked on causing car to sputter and shake like it was trying to get out of deep snow or ice but incident happen on dry ground 76 degrees outside.

Leaving my neighborhood going 20-25 mph. Pavement was dry. Slight downhill incline. Put my foot on the brake. Brake started pulsating rapidly. Brake was resisting me pressing it by pushing my foot back up with pulsating action. Truck would not stop. Could have rear ended the car in front of me or went into a 4 lane highway. Pulled out onto the highway proceeded down another downhill incline about 45 mph. Put my foot on the brake to slow down again the brakes started pulsating and did not work. Had to stand on the brakes pushing against the brake rapid pulsation to get the truck slowed to turn into a parking lot. Traction control sliding car icon was flashing. Took to dealership 10/28/10. Dealer could not find any codes or malfunction. Dealer said the traction control system "rsc" resets itself periodically and will most likely do this again. This is a dangerous time for a bake or tracking control system to reset leaving one without brakes. Personally i don't believe their excuse. Ford has a seriously dangerous problem with the traction control system. Seems others have had this same problem reference to odi id # 10220899. Also other complaints under the tracking control system odi id# 10332619 and 10321582. Also from surfing the ford enthusiast web site, and other web sites, a lot more people are having this problem and are not being reported.

Abs light and esc light come on although there is no apparent problem.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that the spark plugs detached from the vehicle and had to be removed by the dealer using a special tool.the contact stated that the spark plugs had become stuck. The failure and the current mileage was 130,000.

Car has always bucked and truck and tried to catch up to it self. Now i have a ticking sound coming from under my hood. Ticking stays the same running low rpm or at a higher rpm.

My truck was purchased new and i have recently had more fuel gas waste quickly in the past year. I recently had the fuel line changed in june 2017 because a spark plug burnt out and caused it to have a leak that was dangerously close to the gas tank. I have 123k miles on it and the check engine line comes on every time after half a gas tank is done. I had the truck driving and it shuts off on its own. Sometimes it will have a strong shaking of the motor or no warning at all while driving on the road. I'm very concerned because we thought it was the camshaft which is what the error code pops up and the spark plugs and coils have been replaced. Every thing else has been maintained but i'm still have the engine and fuel problem. The gas goes so fast and this is a v8 where i usually drive a 6 mile to work now says it has been a 40 mile drive. Don't know what else to do and may take it back to trade for another vehicle brand. I had to park the truck after it shut off on me again on a side street before getting on the highway.

Engine started making noise.pulled it a partand found the common 5.4 liter problem.the cam lobs was eaten up roller had frozen up and eaten cam up and tapet has went bad also. Vech was in use when this started.

2007 ford expedition.began to spit and sputter going 45mph.engine light came on.took to auto shop for repair.cost was $1,100 to replace 8 spark plugs and wires.ford used a defective spark plug in this vehicle.the plug breaks off in the engine when removing them.ford knew of the issue and did nothing about it.this issue with these plugs began in early 2000's.ford should have recalled these plugs long ago.there are many class action lawsuits ongoing related directly to the faulty spark plug.if i had know about the plugs before i bought the truck, i would have had ford replace them before i even drove it.

Delevoped a ticking noise timing chains were replaced all rockers and lifters are in good shape the truck looses power it starts up rough at about 1800 rpm you can hear the ticking loud past 2000 rpm the ticking goes away i have recently been notified that these engines have cam phaser problems it recently developed a p0022 code which is int cam position timing over ret bank 2 i have replaced the vvt selonoids and still has the same problem vehicle lost power on highway speed dropped from 70and would not go past 30 very unsafe incedent on the interstate

I have the 5.4 engine in my 2007 ford expedition with only 70,000 miles which i purchased in 2007.i am now experiencing cam sensor problems, throttle body problems and need major repairs.i have visited many sites and understand that ford has been sued because of complaints with this particular engine and nothing came from this suit. This started around 2-3 weeks ago, i had been traveling for 2-1/2 hours and just pulled off the highway to enter into my housing plan, when my car lost rpms, became very rough, and then stalled.when the vehicle is on open it road it rides great until you slow down and the rpm falls, then it stumbles and stalls. I had at the dealership a couple of times, but until check engine light came on, i could not get it diagnosed.over the weekend the check engine light finally lite and as i stated it is the cam position senors and states that the systems too rich. I talked with a ford rep today and this will be about a $2000 repair bill, but until i can get it to them and they place on their computer, they cannot give me their final estimate if it can be repaired or i need a new engine. I have many misgivings about this since all that i have read on the internet about all the problems with this particular engine.ford should be held accountable for a faulty engine, and buyers should be made aware of this problem especially when they are buying a used vehicle from a ford dealership who is definitelyaware of this problem.

The engine has caused the vehicle to have complete loss of power. It is stalling out and will not drive at all.

I have a 2007 ford expedition will start up in the morning and be fine until it warms up then it will stall out in the middle of the road or at stop sighs or lights these motors are know to have problems from factory it is my only car i have to go to college i need help resolving this issue

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the abs warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pushed to the side of the road and towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that a sensor next to the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, while driving 60 mph, the abs warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 219,935.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving at various speeds, an abnormal noise was heard from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

I have to replace spark plugs every week. The engine either keeps making the plugs foul out, or it burns the tip right off the engine. I'm starting to see from the complaints this is a common issue.i don't feel safe driving the vehicle with my 6 kids because of how bad it keeps missing and trying to die. I change plugs then drives well for about a week.

I have had a lot of issues with the ignition coils with the vehicle, i have had to replace all the coils 3 times and the problem continues coming back, dealership recommended replacing the engine which we did and it did not fix the issue, having to take it to the shop for a 4th time to get them all replaced.power front seat have had issues as well, repaired the driver side power seat and now need to replace the passenger front seta, cannot be repaired, both front seats have been an issue.

I went to pick my son up from drivers ed and we were leaving the parking lot and the vehicle died. I waited a little and then restarted it and it started but it was rough. I then continued to drive my way back home and it was driving rough and no lights came on indicating i had a problem. I was driving down the road and it died again so i had to just let it coast to get off the street. Luckily i was able to coast into delon and son'ssecond driveway (repair shop). I waited for them to come help and when the repair man came out he was able to start it and told me he was going to run some test on it to see what would have caused it. After 2hrs he came and said that it indicated it was the fuel pump, but that it showed it fixed itself so he wanted to test drive it before i would go home......well not even two minutes after he left his coworker came in and said that he just broke down in my vehicle. So he bumped under the tank and it started back up. So this to him indicated that it was for sure the fuel pump. I left it for them to fix it and when it was done he called me and told me that.....i was very lucky that it didn't explode because the wires were melted on the fuel pump and he himself said that he was lucky since he test drove it as well. I doubt ford would pay for this fuel pump failure it seems to be a common problem when you look on-line. My total bill for this was $790.00 ouch :( considering we are in the process of adopting a child.

Millions of.complaints on. Internet about this vehicle and its backfiring engine and constantly replacing spark plugs.cr throttles.alot no matter how many times fixed.pulls no matter what problem you fix the next one emerge.typical vehicle problems for theses owners.so much money.

While driving on the interstate or fwy at about 55-60 mph - i start to increase in speed, while going with the flow of traffic my expedition eddie bauer model spurts/hesitates/loses power "but never cuts off" every time before the speed increases.we took it to the ford dealer several times an they are unable to determine what is wrong with the vehicle.the ford dealer told us they can't do not about it until the engine light comes on.we suggested to the ford dealer that it maybe the fuel filter or o2 sensor but they told us this model vehicle does not have a fuel filter and our o2 sensors are good.my issue is why should i have to wait till the vehicle breaks down when it does this all the time.

Dealer wants $800 to change spark plugs as they will break off in engine. Because a dis similar metal was used.exhaust manifold bolts break and cause loud exhaust leak at the rear of the exhaust manifold dealer wants $850 to fix.

I purchased a 2007 ford expedition with a 5.4 triton engine in february 2008 that was still under warranty. The car started here lately to misfire and jump and stall. I purchased spark plugs as i do with all my vehicles. Upon removal of the original plugs they break off in the motor or the head which then cost lots more money to replace. Upon speaking to and researching on the internet this plug design is a flaw with all the engines that ford has designed. Every person who has had to replace these plugs has encountered this awful and costly flaw which ford should be accountable for. As i will as well as many continue to pay for the poor workmanship and design that ford should be liable for. In these day and times and with the wide varieties of mass communications, i will never and encourage my friends to never buy a ford vehicle again. I have four kids and this is a cost that we cannot stand for. I will go to the houston texas media with this as well. As i am sure in the houston area many many many consumers have these same issues.

I had purchased a 2007 ford expedition el and have had multiple problems with being able to go in reverse while facing down on any kind of grade.i also have problems with the vehicle accelaration while coming from a stop into traffice.myself along with my two small children will no longer drive the vehicle.we were very close to being hit twice because of the defect in this ford vehicle.i had submitted for lemon law and so far i have not received my answer from arbitration.i can tell you that ford is covering this up because i know of serveral persons and businesses that have the same issues and ford stated that there are no issues.while on the phone with the ford representative in the arbitration they only showed a few visits to the dealership and told me that the ones that i received from the dealership were false.what a crock.i will make a complaint everywhere that i can before this vehicle kills someone.at this point i went and bought another vehicle and am stuck paying for two now that the one just sits and we refuse to drive it.my children are afraid to even drive in it because it actually goes in forward while in reverse also.

The vehicle began to idle real rough to the point of bouncing in an uncontrolled manner.a knocking noise started coming from the engine.when you tried to increase speed two cylinders missed.when the vehicle was manufactured incorrectly, it caused the oil to be distributed unevenly through the engine and the engine to heat unevenly.this starvation of oil over time to the engine allowed for metal to shred and contaminate the engine and the engine has to be replaced in a 5 year old car.if the engine is not replaced the conditions would continue to intensify and the outcome is unknown.after investigation into the problem i learned that ford had sent out a technical advisory bulletin to help service departments identify the problem so obviously this is not a one time based failure.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while driving 40 mph, the contact noticed flames coming from the hood of the vehicle.he pulled the vehicle over and it stalled and lost complete power.the contact then proceeded to remove all the passengers, including two children from the rear seat.within five minutes, the driver's side was completely engulfed in flames.the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.the vehicle was towed to a collision center.after speaking with the maintenance manager, ford stated that since the fire originated in the rear of the vehicle, they would not take responsibility for the fire.the fire report clearly stated that the flames originated from the hood of the vehicle.the vehicle is currently at the collision center.the current and failure mileages were 12,000.

The 5.4l engine has a tapping noise coming from the top half of the motor on the passenger side.it occurs when the engine is idling at a stand still.it happens randomly. Have been speaking with ford warranty and dealers trying to get fixed and because it is intermittent they do not want to work on.we have taken to 2 dealers a total of 3 times and spoken with ford warranty and they refuse to pay to have the motor opened up and looked at.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the vehicle shifts roughly and makes a loud sound when shifting from first to second gear or accelerating from a stop at 15 mph.the vehicle has been to the dealer numerous times.initially, the failure was diagnosed as the throttle cable.the second time, the dealer stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle.the third time, the vehicle made a popping noise and the rear axles were replaced.the fourth time, the dealer stated that the cause of failure was the transmission.they dealer would temporarily repair the vehicle, but the failure would recur days later.the failure has still not been corrected.the failure mileage was 2,800 and current mileage was 14,300.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while decelerating at 5 mph, the engine revved when the brake pedal was depressed.as a result, the contact rear ended another vehicle.a police report was filed.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure.the vehicle has not been repaired.the current and failure mileages were 1,000.

2007 ford expedition el front driver and front passenger window regulators broke at the same time. The suv is only three years old. After researching problem online this seems to be a recurring problem with many consumers driving fords.

The navigation system has been replaced 3 times so far with other partsthat were reused by ford. This vehicle has been deadlined(me not being able to drive it about 60days in the past year. It has been in the shop now for a week and they are going to try to replace the antenna on it. They(ford)not the dealership puts the blame on the maker of the unit., but with each new unit comes other problems. None of ford tech's send back the same response.what my next step?? please helpit has been in the shop to may times. The dealership is great but they can only do so much.

One month after the purchase of my 2007 expedition eddie bauer my air conditioneris working intermittently. I have received two service bulletins from the dealer from ford stating they know that there is a problem but are not sure how to fix. I live in florida its hot.

It seems that the headlight intensity of later model autos keeps getting brighter and brighter.their own visibility might be enhanced, but it is at the expense of all of the other drivers.i feel that the ford pickups and suvs are a major culprit, as well as any vehicle made by acura.i would support a law restricting the candle power and height of headlamps, and an absolute ban on xenon lights.

Backing out of my driveway, the truck died and would not restart. I had it towed to my mechanic and was told the fuel pump was bad. When he removed the pump from the gas tank, my mechanic noticed the electrical wires had burned up. He stated that he was surprised it didn't start a fire or explode. I cannot find another fuel pump anywhere. Ford says they don't know when any will be available, maybe november. I am stuck making payments and keeping insurance on a vehicle that may never run again.

The fuel pump burned up.we have been waiting for almost a month now for a replacement.the word on the internet is that ford is not even manufacutring the part now because there is a problem with it.

I was traveling down the highway and was coming up to a stop light and the vehicle died out.i was able to get the vehicle started and shortly after that, i was traveling down the highway again and while i was speeding up to about 55 mph the vehicle shut down again and i was barely able to get away from the traffic around me and get the vehicle pulled over to the side of the roadway. I attempted restarted the vehicle and it couldnot get the vehicle to restart, luckily i work on vehicles myself and determined that the problem was a fuel pump issue.i tapped on the fuel tank, got the vehicle started and was able to drive me and my family all the way back home, but the vehicle was driving rough and no lights came on indicating i had a problem, before or after.i will get the vehicle tested on to see what would have caused it. After reading a great number of these complaints, the problem seems to point at and is clearlyindicating it is the fuel pump!! we were very lucky that the vehicle didn't explode because the fuel pump wires have a tendency to melted on the fuel pump. I doubt ford would pay for this fuel pump failure it seems to be a common problem when you look on-line.

I have a 2007 ford expedition el . I lease a 4000 sq. Ft. Garage where i'm working to open my own dealership. On the morning of february 18, 2010 around 3am the expedition caught on fire all by itself. It started on the engine and worked its way back until the firefighters arrived and were able to put it down in a timely manner. The expedition is a total loss. The 2008 f350 crewcab dually i had parked next to it had some damage to the driver side and also extensive damage to the ceiling and insulation of the building. The police crime scene investigator mentioned right off the bet that these cars have a cruise control recall and it is common to many of them to catch on fire all by itself. I did some research online and found two major problem with these cars involving the risk of fire: a recall for the fuel rail assembly and a problem with the speed control deactivation switch being powered at all time and resulting in fire under certain conditions. Since my lease started on february 1st and i'm in the process of opening and registering the business, i had no insurance all the time. The insurance of the garage's owner will cover the damage on the building but none of my car and truck damage. On top of loosing my car, my business will be shut down for about two to four weeks until the insurance get all paperwork and claim settled and owner gets the place all fixed up. All that's left for me is to find a way of getting ford to acknowledge and take responsibility for the default vehicle - not only mine, but the tens of thousands - they have driving on the streets putting at risk many homes and lives. That is pretty scary taking into consideration that there's many people that lost everything due to this fire and i was lucky enough not to loose everything i had.

Our family drove our expedition el to hilton head island, sc.after stopping to rent some bikes we went to start our vehicle and it would not start.after having it towed to a local shop we were told that our fuel pump was burned up and that they would order a new pump.the next day they called back to inform us that there are no fuel pump's available for the expedition el 131" wheel base and they have no idea when they will be available and ford would not give them any information.we contacted ford and they would not help us unless we transferred the vehicle to a ford dealership.we did that and the ford dealership told us the exact same thing.after trying all week to find a fuel pump or try to use the shorter version there was no way to find one.we ended up having to rent a car and drive it back 1000 miles to michigan.when we got back to michigan and contacted ford they once again said it is not their fault, the car is not under warrantly and sorry for the inconvenience but they owe us nothing and they can't help us.when i asked when there would be fuel pumps available they never responded.i located a used fuel pump in canada and shipped it to the ford dealership.i then flew back to hilton head and drove it back.the first time we stopped the car to get something to eat the car would not start.i finally got it started and never shut the car off again from sc to michigan - even while pumping gas and never let the tank get beow 1/2 a tank.the car now jerks and the fuel pump is about to go again.every time i get in the car i am afraid it is just going to stop working and i will get in an accident.so far it has cost us over $2000.00 to just get the car back home after all the extra costs and ford will not tell us anything or when any will be available. They furthermore said they work closely with nhtsa and there are no issues with this part.

Fuel pump arced internally inside the fuel tank connector shows signs of open spark.

I was driving home from work and my ford expedition started hesitating. I was driving on winding west virginia road at the time. Vehicle stalled out after hesitations. I was able to restart and bring the vehicle back to speed. It hesitated several more times. In town when starting from a stop it stalled out twice more. Stalling occurred as i pressed on the gas pedal. I brought it in to the dealer. They changed the ignition coils. As i pulled out of the dealer it stalled out again. I was in the middle of the intersection when this occurred and was very lucky that this did not cause an accident. I brought it back to the dealer. They had to change out the fuel pump. The side the electrical wires on the pump had melted and were making intermittent contact causing the hesitation and stalling. This could have very easily caused an accident.

I was driving my 2007 ford expedition el on the highway and it started sputtering.as i started to change lanes to exit the freeway i lost all power.luckily right at the end of the freeway exit ramp was a shopping plaza.i coasted into the plaza then my husband, 3 kids and 2 strangers pushed me safely into a parking lot.i had the car towed to my local ford dealer on 6-10-13.the diagnosis was i needed a new fuel pump.after several days of telling me it was coming.the dealership confessed that the part was on national back order and expected delivery was some time after august 4th 2013. My warranty will only cover 8 days of a rental.my local dealer will not give me a car nor with ford corporate.my dealer also mentioned that other model fords have fuel pumps on backorder like the taurus and explorer.i am wondering if this is design flaw in general with the ford fuel pumps and they are trying to keep it from going to a recall.one post i saw the guy said his dealer told him there were 1286.00 expedition el fuel pumps on back order.this is not right.i will be without a car for 56 days.of those 56 i can only get a car for 8.what am i supposed to do?ford needs to fix this for free as well as give everyone a rental until their car is fixed.

Vehicle experienced a no start.was towed to ford dealership for repair; diagnosed as failed fuel pump.fuel pump was replaced and old pump returned to me.the old pump has a melted and scorched electrical connector where the wiring comes into the pump motor, which in the presence of gasoline vapors, had the potential to be disastrous.i noted several other similar nhtsa complaints regarding this vehicle in this model year. Pictures available upon request.

The fuel pump went out on our 2007 ford excursion while being operated.when examined, the mechanic stated that we were lucky the vehicle didn't catch fire or blow up since the wiring burned out on the fuel pump in the fuel tank.(i have pictures of the fuel pump that was removed).someone needs to investigate these fuel pumps and determine what caused the wiring to burn up.

2007 ford expedition 119 wb. My fuel pump stopped working. When i pulled it out of the gas tank i was shocked. One connection had been burned and melted away. I would think that anything getting that hot to melt the plastic and have burn marks on it inside a gas tank would be really bad. I have pictures.

This is my wife's vehicle and she was taking my kids and a few from the neighborhood as well as my disabled father to sonic to get some icecream.i was away for a baseball tournament with my 9 yr old and received a call that the car would not start.i had to leave and miss my sons game to make sure my wife was ok.well after trying everything i could and still could not get it started i had it towed to a garage.they dropped the tank and found that the connectors on the pump were melted and stated this could have caused a fire.now i was told by a ford dealer that the were remaking the pumps as they knew of this issue.so if you know of this issue and don't advise the public i feel they are liable for any damage or claims that this issue may cause.the worst part is when i tried to get a new fuel pumpfor this i was told they were on back order and would not be available until aug 5 2013.so that is 2 months without a second car, and makes it very hard to make it to work ontime.ford then stated that i dose not show that i ordered a part and they could not help unless i ordered the part and then they would see about the problem.now a recall should be looked into for this as melted wires in a secured gasoline tank.that sounds more like and ied waiting to happen.i would appreciate you looking into this.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Gas burps out of filler tube upon fueling. You must always hold fuel pump handle and manually pump fuel and listen for gas to be almost full to stop. Otherwise gas will spew out down side of vehicle and persons pumping gas. This happens on almost every fill up across all gas stations in central fl.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the engine stalled with the illumination of the warning indicator. The engine failed to restart and the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician stated that the failure was contributed to a faulty fuel pump. I started the vehicle and moved it from the back yard to front and left vehicle running while i loaded some items into it. While loading the vehicle shut off automatically. I attempted to start vehicle several time before finally having it towed. Mechanic advised fuel pump inside my tank was melted. Repair cost of $500. After seeing several of these complaints this should be a recall for safety issues how can an electrical problem become hot enough in a tank of gas to melt????? vin [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Ok, here is the story. A week ago the fuel pump went out on my wife's car. After just one google search i found out that this was an ongoing problem and that many people hadthis happen with the pump. Most people were finding that one of the leads going to the fuel pump was getting hot and melting... Melting inside the fuel tank!!! sound like a problem? so i have it towed to the local shop to have it repaired. One day later the guy from the shop calls me and says hey man we got a problem, the fuel pump is currently not available for your car, and that he had called ford and they had informed him that they found a problem with the pump and pulled it out of production until 7-22-13 but would not be available until 9-13.he said that he had scoured the web and found out that this was a problem showing up just now because the cars with the faulty fuel pump were now getting some miles on them. I called the big ford office and they basically told me tough luck. So a company that big has recognized that there is a problem with the fuel pump, pulled it out of production, have not issued a recall, and telling me tough luck! i need help, this is the only family car we have and we have 5 kids. This is beyond bad business and imo not acceptable. Any help would be much appreciated.i also have pictures of the unit if anybody would like to see them just shoot me a email @ [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I purchased a 2007 expedition a couple of years ago with 67000 miles. I've been having several issues with it but i figured it was just because it was a used vehicle. I maintain my car very well getting all of the service it needs done. On 4/12/15 i was in the car with my two daughters and it just stopped in the middle of the road without warning. This was an extremely dangerous situation and we all we very afraid. Luckily the car behind us was not too close and was able to prevent a very serious accident. I am being told that the problem is related to the fuel pump.i filed a complaint with ford on 4/15/15.all i was given was an apology and told that there was nothing that they could do at this time.little did i know that there would be a major recall just yesterday, 4/29, for the same issue with their newer vehicles.i also see an outstanding number of complaints about this with the same version of my 2007 vehicle.i guess that ford is waiting for someone to die before they recall this issue.i am extremely upset about this and will not stop over turning options until ford does something to fit my vehicle.

The vehicle would not start. After diagnosis we found the fuel pump which in located inside the fuel tank had burned and melted at the wire connectors. Had the fuel been lower and the wires exposed the fumes would have exploded. This is a very dangerous and a recall should be issued before someone dies from a fire. The fuel tank is also located directly under the left side seats.

While driving my 2007 ford expedition el limited home from a dentist appointment with my four children, my suv suddenly stopped with no warning. I tried several times to restart vehicle with no success, it just wouldn't turn over. I had suv towed to a local repair shop to determine what the problem was. I was told the fuel pump was shorted and had electrically burned inside my fuel tank. This really worried me since fire and gas do not mix very well! all i could think is if 28 gallons of fuel were to ignite, it would seem to me that this is serious issue. Tried to get my suv repaired and was told part was on back order till september or october. This tells me that there must be a serious issue with this part. This is my only vehicle at that. Read multiple stories of consumers with issues all most exactly like mine. I am a concerned consumer and parent, and do not want something unfortunate to happen do to a faulty part.

When fueling every time.the pump auto shut off clicks and about a quart of fuel burps out of the fill all over the ground, the side of the truck and whoever happens to be standing next to the fill. Truck turned on fine in the morning. I went to run an errand came back and gauge said 50 miles to empty and figured i would gas up later. We were about to go to dinner and the truck wouldn't turn on. Mechanic has said it is the fuel pump. For a week we can not locate a fuel pump. We contacted ford corporate and all they can say is "go pay $401 for a new one and then we can see what we can do to expedite". Yet dealer says they have a back order and do not know if its going to be late august or early september before part is even available. Now we are sitting and paying for a vehicle we can not drive! like spark plugs were a big enough problem!

I left to go grocery shopping around noon this march. About 15 min. Into my drive going up a hill on a highway and right after passing a car that was doing about 50 in a 70 mph zone, my car just died while topping the hill. I had no power steering, and no breaks. Thankfully i have had car with out power steering and knew it was going to be tough to get it on the shoulder before being hit by the semi that was behind me.it would not start or do anything after that so i popped the hood to check my fuses. And found out it was the fuel pump fuse. I had over a quarter tank of gas left and no warning as to any problem with my car. I check all my fluids on the regular and have oils changed when needed.when the fuel tank was pulled all the wires on the pump were melted.lucky it dudnt catch fire, and the part to replace this is ridiculously expensive.

Two weeks ago i was driving down the highway at 55 mph.all of a sudden the car just shut off.i had to coast to the side of the road.it was very hard to steer.had to have car towed since it wouldn't start.come to find out the fuel pump had melted.there is no fuel pump to be found!we have tried all the dearlships in the area and even contacted ford.they don't care that the truck is down and that we were told it would be august before a part would be available.i drive a big truck for a big family.

I have a 2007 ford expedition will start up in the morning and be fine until it warms up then it will stall out in the middle of the road or at stop sighs or lights these motors are know to have problems from factory it is my only car i have to go to college i need help resolving this issue

When you drive the vehicle and come to a stop, ie: (intersection) the vehicle will go into neutral while it's in drive and upon pressing the accelerator pedal, it enters a safety type mode with no indication and will remain in gear zero for approximately 1-2 seconds and then as it starts moving, it does so with very little power leaving the vehicle in danger of getting struck by another vehicle from cross traffic. At this time, i have no idea what is causing this issue but it seems to be common via the internet complaints on the 6r80 transmissions on ford vehicles. This has happened to me 4 times while trying to cross multi lane highways but the most recently came very close to what could have ended into a multiple fatal accident with a semi truck who was barely able to stop in time before i was able to cross a 3 lane highway. I have been able to have the vehicle go back to normal by simply shutting off the vehicle and restarting it. What makes this really dangerous, is the driver such as me being unaware that my vehicle is in a safety restricted power output when this happens. No warning until you commit into a deadly situation. People report this issue on the internet as the vehicle going into neutral by itself when coming to a stop. When they try to resume driving the vehicle rpms will increase and the vehicle might or might not pop into gear softly or forcefully. Sometimes with full acceleration authority and sometimes with a max attainable speed of 5 mph or less depending on the gradient and terrain until you can reach a safe spot and restart the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that while attempting to tow a boat out of the water, there was a sudden increase of engine rpms and the transmission failed to engage preventing the vehicle from moving. The contact mentioned that he had to turn off and restart the vehicle in order for it to resumed normal function. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 105,000 and the current mileage was 107,000.

2007 expedition 2 wd 5.4 6spd. Auto park lock device was not working. Car could be shifted from park without keys or applying the brake.car rolled down a hill across a street down another hill into a creek with 5yr old child and dog in car. Purchased certified pre owned less than 1 month ago.

It was 5/5/09, my wife was driving vehicle on a 'chip and sealed' street. She parked it on the shoulder and went to some yard sales. She return to the vehicle and was backing it, to turn around. The engine changed sound and began to rev up.[she was now half its length up a concrete driveway.] with her foot still on the brake peddle she immediately shift the transmission into a forward. The engine was really loud and revving up with the rear tires squealing, and spinning, the vehicle's front tires begin to slide on the gravel of the 'chip and seal' and then slide on the crushed rock of the next drive way. With her foot still firmly on the brake peddle and now both hands on the steering wheel, the vehicle lunges and scoots forward out of control on its own, plowing into a brick mail box. As the vehicle is plowing over the mail box, the engine suddenly idles down and the vehicle stops moving.my wife had never removed her foot from the brake peddle until after she shut the engine off.the brick mail box was totally destroyed costing and the expedition had damage to the grill and front fascia. The county sheriff was called to the scene and the vehicle was towed to the dealership. After 3 wks they found nothing wrong and declared it was safe to drive.

We have a 2007 ford expedition with a remote electric start installed in the truck.when you remote start the vehicle then get into the vehicle with the keys out of the ignition you are able to put your foot on the brake pedal and move the gear shift to any position...........this has been witnessed by the ford dealer who was shocked, but has told me its working the way it was designed...........if you test this,,,,,,, remote start the vehicle then sit in the drivers seat, put your foot on the pedal and move the shifter.the car will shut off as its suppose to and once the engine dies the shifter will not move.its just for the split of 3 to 10 seconds it takes for the engine to stop that shifter is free to move ..........if a child is to enter the vehicle and put their foot on the pedal they will have thatamount of time to move the shifter and once you move the shifter that car is free to roll at anytime and the shifter can still move ..............................................................the problem as i see it. If i remote start the vehicle and a child climbs into the vehicle and pretends to drive puts his foot on the brake and moves the shifter, the car is going to roll and it never had the keys in the ignition.....................i park on a hill and this good easily kill someone if the vehicle rolls...................the fix would be not allow the gear shift to move out of park with out the keys in the ignition.i was advised by ford not to remote start my vehicle with the doors unlocked and that's fine for me, but for the rest of the drivers of these trucks who knows. I have been told this must have been missed by ford.the ignition needs to see the key before it releases the shifter.just my thoughts.thank you.

The wiring harness from the transmission to the engine compartment crosses over the catalytic converter on the passenger side.there are a series of clips that are supposed to hold the wire harness close to the under body of the chassis.these clips prevent the wiring harness from touching the catalytic converter.during use, the catalytic converter gets hot and this heat degrades the plastic clips to the point where the are brittle and fail. This can result in the wire harness contacting the catalytic converter. The heat from the catalytic converter subsequently destroys the wiring and insulation to the point that the ecm receives erroneous indications from the transmission. If exposed for sufficient time the condition could cause an accident due to the transmission begin in limp mode, suddenly failing or a fire due to the wiring harness igniting.

Vehicle was traveling about 70 mph on the interstate.pressed accelerator to pass a tractor trailer.the vehicle downshifted to pass (automatic transmission), but then downshifted all the way down to 1st gear on its own, which immediately revved the engine up to red line (5000 rpm) and caused the rear tires to start to slow to less than vehicle speed.as a result, the tires started smoking and caused the vehicle to skid sideways to the right off the road and down the embankment.luckily, i was able to maintain some control of the vehicle down the grassy embankment and finally get the transmission slipped into neutral to regain control of the rear tires and narrowly avoid crashing.the only reason there was not a crash was due to that section of the interstate having a relatively shallow grassy downward embankment.1000 feet in either direction of that interstate would have caused a multi-car accident. Once the vehicle was stopped, i was able to get it back into gear and drive it up to the shoulder of the interstate.i was able to get the vehicle safely back to my home.once home, i was able to research that there is an existing ford recall for this issue, but it is only on 2012 expeditions and 2011-2012 ford f-150s with the 6r80 transmission.my vehicle has the 6r75 transmission, which was the predecessor to the recalled one above.

Vehicle often fails to move when on an incline, e.g., pulling boat out of water on launch ramp; backing vehicle up steep driveway.when the accelerator is depressed, engine does not respond and vehicle will not move.i have to turn engine off and after a few seconds, turn it on again before it will move. I have taken this vehicle to the dealer two or three times (unknown) and they have been unable to find problem and repair.i am now out of warranty and ford refuses to handle this complaint.i have written to ford and they do not care to respond.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.when coming to a complete stop, the vehicle lunges forward.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer on numerous occasions and they reset the rpm's.after the repair, the failure immediately recurred.the technician added that the transmission was designed to downshift and that there was no current remedy to repair the failure.as of october 10, 2008, the vehicle has not been properly repaired.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 23,400.

In the morning when first starting out driving the vehicle will lurch forward and then sometimes will become sluggish, then surge of power.dealer could not duplicate concern, but the found an update for the ecm, re-flashed the ecm and test drove, vehicle operated as designed.

This 2007 expedition will not hold while stopped on a hilleither in drive or reverse.when in either gear the car will drift noticeably.when attempting to back up while on a down grade hill the brake has to be held andgas must be applied so that the vehicle could safely back up without it spinning tire.

Since purchasing the vehicle in october of 2006, the transmission seemed sluggish at stops when accelerating, i have taking the vehicle into a ford dealership three or more times and now the transmission is still sluggish when moving from a stop. I took it back to a dealer and ford service said that a memo said not to work on my transmission until the update for software is issued sometime in november. This is at least a month away and the vehicle is not safe for my wife and family to drive in. I have a ford rep who we asked to supply us with a rental car and they are saying we can rent a car and they will review it when the vehicle is fixed and decide if they are going to pay for the rental. This is ridiculous to be treated this way by such a huge corporation.

2007 ford expedition mileage ~34,000i have taken my 2007 ford expedition into the shop now on 3 separate occasions for the same issue.the first and second time the problem was listed at un-found, and the 3rd time it was in the show they stated that they were aware of an issue but there is currently no fire available.the issue:*when slowing down to a stop, the vehicle seems to stay in a higher gear and then downshifts hard, and comes to a stop.*while accelerating from a stop the vehicle seems to hesitate very badly, then take off.this has been particularly scary when pulling out into traffic because you never know when it's going to "catch" and take off.i have basically started to leave myself 10x the room needed to pull out to avoid an injury.*at 35 miles per hour, when the accelerator is depressed to speed up a clunking noise is heard, and the vehicle hesitates then decides to move.it is almost as if the accelerator is not telling the truck to go!*this vehicle has been a very good vehicle, but ford has been covering this issue up for many months now!this is going to end up killing someone one day if it is not fixed! written by a corporate safety specialist.

Engines lugs on take off, we were at the freeway several times and the vehicle would hesitate before moving.this has happened several times over the last 9 monthstook vehicle in and they could not find a problem. They said the ecm has the most current updates. The vehicle has only been driven a few times since aug. 13th, 2008.we are currently also have problems with the sunroof, waiting on ford motor co. Regarding that issue.

Vehicle left parked on flat surface, i got back in after it had been parked for about 5 minutes.. As soon as i got in, the vehicle started rolling forward. I immediately applied the brake and checked that the shifter was fully in "park", which it was. As soon as i let off the brake, the vehicle rolled about another foot before stopping itself.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while making a turn at 15 mph, the seats rattled.the transmission also experienced failure.when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the transmission would pause and then the vehicle would drastically accelerate.the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The current mileage was 11,283 and failure mileage was approximately 8,000.updated 3/4/08

When putting the 2007 ford expedition el into reverse the transmission would slam into reverse. This has happened on several occasions.when taken to the dealer they couldn't duplicate the concern and then checked for updates. The ecm has the most correct updates.

- the contact stated that the 2007 ford expedition el had transmission problems from the day he drove the vehicle off the parking lot of the dealership. When coming to a stopand trying to accelerate the vehicle stayed in a high gear and the engine revved.the vehicle accelerated in the wrong gear. The transmission slipped when driving with the vehicle full of passengers.hetook the vehcile to the dealership on 02/07/07 which was the appointment date the dealership gave him, andthe dealership took the vehicle for a test ride with the contact, and the service mechanic informed him that theywere aware of the transmission problems on the 2007 ford expeditions, but they havd no remdey for the failure.the contact stated that during one incident he tried to accelerate after stopping in traffic and was concerned that another vehicle would hit him because the vehicle didn't accelorate properly.the contact noticed the problem with the transmisson slipping after driving the vehicle for twenty miles.he stated that he now had 1,600 miles on the vehcile, and felt that the manufacturer along with the dealership should have a solution for this safety problem .updated 03/30/07.

On two occasions in the last month, the vehicle while in park and the keys out ofthe ignition, the vehicle on its own rolled backwards at least 20 feet.

I purchased a 2007 expedition in oct. 06 and about 6 months ago, i noticed that when i came to a stop i felt a kick afterwards. Slowly it progressed to a harder push, where it actually feels like someone hit me from behind. I took it for service at my local ford dealer in october 07 and they had orders from ford to recalibrate the transmission for now until they found a fix for the problem in mid-november.the recalibration worked for 1 week and now the problem has returned. Again i contacted the local ford dealer and they claim not to have a fix yet. I need this fix .

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that the seat belt in the rear middle seat was worn. The contact noticed the failure shortly after purchasing the vehicle.the dealer advised the contact that the seatbelts were fine. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 35 mph, the front driver side seat belt unlatched without warning. Also, the third row passenger seat belt failed to latch correctly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was unknown.

Seat rocks back and forth (front and back) when accelerating and stopping. Adjusting seat does not help, rocks on the track up and down. Can rock seat when vehicle is stationary also.

We purchased a new 2007 inaugural model of the expedition el.our vehicle seats 8 and we are a family of 7.one middle seat is generally folded out of use, occasionally used for a child, rarely used for an adult.while on a day trip in march my average sized brother sat in the right side of the middle row seats. Throughout our trip the seat back would not hold to support him and was repeatedly flying backward.this is how we discovered the problem.were there to be an accident not only would the seat not hold to protect the passenger it could actually cause serious injury or death because of this defect. This vehicle is only a few years old and has been used with normal family wear and tear.it has not been abused in any way. We do not know if this is a failed/defective part affecting this one seat in our vehicle or if there is something structurally unsound in the seat design of the expedition.we have contacted ford regarding the issue and they tell us they are committed to safety and share our concern yet will do nothing about it because the new vehicle warranty is no longer in effect. This answer is unacceptable and they are using empty words.my father was killed in a car accident and i have 5 children that i drive around daily.safety is my number one priority in a vehicle.i am concerned primarily for the safety of my own family but also all those on the road.please help me resolve this issue with ford.it is a very expensive repair which i think ford is responsible for but furthermore they are showing a very careless attitude regarding a serious safety issue which may affect more than simply our own vehicle.thank you for your assistance with this matter and for all you do to ensure safety on the road.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While reversing out of the driveway, the brakes and both front wheels seized and would not turn. As a result, the vehicle remained stuck in the middle of the street. The contact shut off the engine and removed the keys from the ignition. The vehicle was restarted and the gear was placed in neutral. The contact's husband had to pull the vehicle back into the driveway via a rope. The contact sprayed the wheels with a type of seizure unlock spray and the vehicle was able to be driven a day later. In addition, the abs warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake calipers seized. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 151,000.

Abs light and esc light come on although there is no apparent problem.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that the traction control warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the abs module was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the brakes were applied and traveled to the floorboard abnormally. The contact mentioned that the brakes failed to respond immediately without warning. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 81,600.

First incident occurred when vehicle was traveling 45 mph. Brakes were applied to slow down before a curve. At the point the front wheels locked up and the vehicle began to rock back and forth and swerve on the roadway. To prevent a rollover the vehicle was steered off the road when it jumped an embankment and plowed through 25 feet mud and brush before coming to a complete stop. The brakes were completely inoperable. The vehicle was shut off and left until it could be towed out. After a few hours the calipers released. The second incident occurred when vehicle was stopped at a stop sign. When accelerated was pressed the front wheels were locked up and the back wheels were spinning. Vehicle was put in park, shut off, restarted after a few minutes and calipers were still locked up. Vehicle was towed home and calipers released after a few hours. Car had only been running for about 30 minutes when this happened. After diagnosis it was determined that the brackets that hold the brake lines on the front failed and wheel rotation were through the lines which caused the brake lines to intermittently collapse. All brake lines, calipers, tie rods, shock/struts, brakes, rotors, upper control arms and lower ball joints have been replaced on both front and rear. Vehicle had approximately 180,000 miles when both incidents occurred 3 months apart.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. When the failure occurred, the traction control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. When the vehicle was placed into reverse, the brakes and the steering failed without warning. The vehicle would not stop and continued to accelerate. The contact depressed the brake pedal all the way to the floorboard. The contact turned off the ignition. The vehicle crashed into a curb and a tree. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

I purchased this vehicle used on 04/15/2011.we normally drive approximately 35 mph around the island. In august of 2012, the brake master cylinder failed at 90,000miles and was replaced on 08/08/2012 by the service dept at mike shad ford/autonation, orange park, fl.on 04/12/2013, the brake master cylinder failed and again had to be replaced, this time by paul clark ford, yulee, fl.on 03/13/2014, while taking my daughter to school, the brakes failed. I was able to steer out of a collision. I took the vehicle to the nearest ford dealership; paul clark ford, yulee, fl. The master cylinder needs replaced a third time; however, the part is on back-order with no known repair date. I contacted ford customer relations on 03/14/2014 who stated there were no tsb on this part. I highly recommend that this be investigated before fatality occurs. 3rd brake master cylinder failure within year and a half.

Brakes were applied and the brake pedal went to the floor and slightly vibrated.after initial application of the brakes, upon next application of pressure on the brake pedal, the brakes then engaged.no code or any indication by the vehicles safety messages were given, no check brakes or anything.there is a recall for abs brakes on the 2008 model dated november of 2007 and this vehicle was a late production run of the '07's and delivered on 8/28/2007 so perhaps the same issue affected some models from '07.issue has been reported to corporate level @ ford motor company.

2007 ford expedition el, eddie bauer 4x4mileage - 35,800passenger front brake "dragging".caused extremely hot and smoking brake components.-- this could have caused serious brake failure due to brake fluid boiling; possible fire, possible locked/skidding tire and loss of steering control.full story:was towing a car on a trailer of about 5000 pounds total weight.typical driving, south of watkins glen on rt 14 toward interstate, speeds 30-60mph; trailer has fully operational electric brakes.smelled "hot brakes", pulled over, smoke pouring out of wheel.pyrometer could not measure rotor temperature - meaning rotor was hotter than 790 degrees f.(i believe the drivers front rotor was about 230f).i also can't say 100% there was not a fire.jacked it up, it was hard to turn the wheel.when it cooled, the wheel rotated without resistance.took caliper off, cleaned brake pad contact areas, pistons seemed to press back easily.did not need brakes on rest of way home and have not towed since -- no problems with brakes since (about 200 miles regular driving).so far stops straight without a shimmy.i plan to replace pads and bleed system unless i find something that suggest problems is more serious.other people have had identical problems and about same mileage:http://www.edmunds.com/ford/expeditionel/2007/consumerreview.html.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 45 mph she noticed a loud grinding noise coming from the front end of the vehicle, at the same time the brake pedal fell to the floor and supplied the contact with very little braking power. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership. The contact has experienced the identical failure 5 months prior. The current and failure mileages were 60800.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while driving between 10-15 mph on normal conditions, the contact heard a loud grinding noise when the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to stop.after several attempts, the vehicle finally came to a complete stop.immediately, the vehicle was parked in the contact's driveway.there were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.roadside assistance was called to the scene and the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for inspection.the technician was unable to duplicate the failure.the failure recurred, but could not be duplicated by the dealer again.the vehicle has currently been at the authorized dealer for over a week and is under investigation by the engineers.the contact refuses to drive the vehicle until the cause of the failure has been determined and repaired.the failure and current mileages were 14,000.

We have been having sporadic issues with a grating/grinding/scraping noise and a bucking/jerking with our 35,00mile 2007 ford expedition el.no one seems to be able to pinpoint the problem (dealership, of course).i'm sure at 36,001 miles they'll figure it(warranty up).help.i worry about the safety of my three children, as well as the expense of fixing it.when it occurs longterm (20+ seconds) , tapping the brakes seems to release the noise/hang up.you can also feel it in the pedals/floor when it happens.when the car bucks(not always occurring with the noise)- it really bucks.i have pulled over every time to check that i haven't blown a tire because i know i didn't hit a pothole or road debris and just to be safe. It is terrifying.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. While driving 35 mph making a right turn on a paved road, the steering wheel locked. She was unable to control the steering wheel and the brakes also locked. The advanced track light illuminated and there was a noise in the brake area. She tried to control the steering wheel by removing her foot from the accelerator pedal and the brakes also failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle speed began to accelerate and it suddenly came to a stop. The driver was able to drive to the dealer; however, the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure.the vehicle has not been repaired. She is aware of the safety risk including the crash that could have occurred. The current and failure mileages were 50,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while driving 45 mph on an incline, the brakes failed and the vehicle suddenly accelerated.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 27,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact statedhe was driving at speeds of 65 mph in heavy rains. He attempted to apply the brakes and the right passengers wheel locked, causing the vehicle to slide sideways. He removed his foot from the brake pedal and the wheel was unlocked. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and the contact advised that the failure would only occur when driving in rainy weather. The failure recurred while traveling at speeds of 25 mph in rainy weather. The dealer was able to duplicate the failure but was unable to provide a diagnosis. The dealer ran several tests and submitted them to the manufacturer who advised the vehicle was functioning as designed and would not provide any further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000 and the current mileage was 35,500.

Excessive ice build up (during winter months) under drivers side floor board. As ice releases, up to 15 lbs. Of ice will hang up cause tension on e-brake cable, vehicle will slide out in some cornering and premature rear pad wear.rear drives side brake failed @ 67k. Passenger side @ 40%,front @50-60%. No hauling.have knocked ice build up off numerous times.

Defective brake booster. Has there been any complaints about this.

My 2007 ford expedition eddie bauer edition has always had a pulse on the brake you come to a stop and it will stop and go at first it was not bad now it is extremely dangerous.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the brakes failed to operate properly while driving 30 mph.the vehicle did not slow down when the brake pedal was depressed.she had to tap the pedal for approximately 40 seconds in order to stop the vehicle.so far, the failure has only occurred once.the contact feels that this is a safety issue because a serious crash could occur.the current and failure mileages were 28,436.

On 7/5/10 my wife was driving the 2007 expedition el with less than 17,000 miles, across the paved parking lot at her work place. With her foot touching the brake pedal she drove forward approaching a parking position. As the vehicle approached the parking position she did not move her foot to increase or decrease brake pedal pressure.when she is about 10' to 14' away from the car in front of her, the engine begins to change sound, revs up, she immediately has to apply brake peddle pressure to slow and then enough pressure to prematurely stop the vehicle.it's rear tires begin to brake loose, squeal, and spin. She turns the key off, to kill the engine. The brakes held firm keeping the vehicle stationary as was evident in the front tires imprint on the parking lot. The rear tires had spun, eating through the sealed surface of the parking lot, depositing rubber and parking lot material behind them. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. Again the dealership said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle, and ford would not let them do anything to the vehicle unless they could find something. This is the second incident on this vehicle. The first was complaint odi # 10347250.the first incident had property damage and vehicle damage. The second incident did not. - ford has no record at the dealership of this vehicle being there for 3 weeks the first time and 2 weeks the second time. Ford rep also said not take this vehicle to another dealership.

Sliding car icon will display occassionaly and randomly on dry pavement for short periods of time during which the brakes do not work.this almost caused me to rear end a car recently.

My steering shaft locked up on the highway. I almost could not turn the vehicle. It took much force to break it free. Made it home and started to diagnose it. First, i thought the rack & pinion failed. But it turned out to be fine. It appears that the steering intermediate shaft is the failure. This is the parts between the steering column and the rack & pinion. I replaced it with ford part number 8l1z-3b676-a. This new part appears to be a redesigned shaft from ford. I researched the internet a little with similar problems. Their appears to be many associated with the same failure. I believe the u-joints in the shaft and its material selection on the original part to be the problem. The new shaft is a more robust design and appears to be of a different grade of metal. My concern is that it took much force for me to break the steering lock up. It could have been a very bad incident and after my research. It appears that ford is aware of an issue and redesigned a part for a fix. I know that my wife could not been able to break it free going down highway. I have the old part saved and would be glad to sent it to you for your review. I'm concerned that millions of these vehicles are on the road and could potentially lead to many unnecessary collisions. Effects 2004-2011 f-150's & expeditions.

My tires wont stay inflated, the air keeps coming out daily, there is no leaks or anything , also i almost caused a accident , i hit a curb

We purchased a 2007 expedition limited from don chalmers ford in santa fe new mexico on july 21, 2007.we had this suv for less than 2 weeks when the power steering and the rack and pinion failed. I was backing out of a tight parking space when i felt the suv sort of thump. Within 500 feet, as i was leaving the parking lot, the power steering was completely gone. After taking it to the nearest dealership, the service representative said that the rack and pinion was blown. This is our 2nd expedition (we owned a 2001 eddie bauer). I convinced my husband to trade in our 2007 tahoe ltz for the expedition limited because i missed many of the basic features such as the seats folding flat, the controls on the steering wheel, handle on drivers side. I cannot understand how a brand new expedition can have the power steering and rack and pinion fail with less than 500 miles and from just simply backing out of a tight parking space. I thought that the 20" tires had something to do with this. Some of our friends who are "car people" said that the hose to support the power steering was probably not installed properly and when i made the tight turn, it snapped it out of the socket. The service rep said that they probably made some mistakes during manufacturing that caused the entire rack and pinion to be defective.the failures occurred on august 3, 2007, and the car was brought to the don chalmers ford dealership located in rio rancho, new mexico. We have been given a loaner vehicle.we have not yet been contacted to inform us of what the exact problem is, or the corrective action required.we believe these issues are unacceptable on a $45k automobile. We either want a replacement expedition or we want our tahoe back.

We were loading up our 2007 ford expedition to go out. The vehicle had just been started to warm up, when ishut the rear hatch, the glass shattered causing a huge mess allover the rear of the truck. The 2 contacts were dangling from the truck, but the glass was completely shattered out.

My interior door handle springs out and has to be force back in place. I'm told there was a recall and it was fixed. I'm not arguing that some time has passed but if that's the case why is this happening exactly as the recall state.

Noticed the paint "bubbling" on the hood and lift gate of my 2007 ford expedition .i contacted ford to see if there was a recall or this would be covered under warranty and they said no to both inquiries. The problem has gotten worst and is continuing to grow .

We purchased a used 2007 ford expedition el with 40,000 miles on it from a certified ford dealership.after a few months we noticed that the paint on the hood and the liftgate was bubbling.we took it to the dealership and they said the paint was oxidizing, not rusting.the dealership tried to file a claim under warranty but it was denied.we have tried a second time and waiting to hear back.a vehicle with a $50,000 msrp that has the paint bubbling off after 2 and a half years is terrible.i will think twice before purchasing another ford product.

Electronic rear hatch make an awful noise when opening and closing. It has been to the dealer twice for repair. They can not figure out what the problem is. The noise is not consistent, will come and go. They did indicate that the motor is loud. The noise still continues to exist.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact heard a loud noise coming from the vehicle while it was parked and unoccupied. The liftgate hydraulic cylinder exploded into small pieces even though the liftgate was not engaged. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated that while the lift gate would open without warning, it shut with a lot of force.the contact has taken the vehicle to a dealer who informed the contact that the two arms on the lift gate needed to be replaced. The contact has not had the two arms replaced. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the lift gate and they informed the contact that a service representative would notify him. The contact has not received a call from the service representative. The contact is concerned that someone could be injured by the lift gate. The failure mileage was 45,000.updated 11/16/10. *lj

I bought a brand new 2007 ford expedition eddie bawer, the vehicle is still under warranty.last year the ford dealership changed the hood since it was rusting.now the tail gate is rusting and the paint bubbling, but ford has refused to replace the tailgate.i live in central florida and the vehicle has never been up north or near the coast.i have never had a vehicle rust like this.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.while braking from 50 or 65 mph, the vehicle pulls to the left into the next lane.the vehicle was taken to the dealer several timeshowever, they did not know how to make the repair.the manufacturer stated that this was a normal occurrence for the vehicle.the current mileage was 7,500 and failure mileage was 1,800.updated 01-15-08.numerous parts have been replaced on the vehicle, but to no avail. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer determined that the bearings were failing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 75,000.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition. The contact stated the rear of the vehicle would feel unstable and began to bounceexcessively while driving approximately 35 mph. The rear of the vehicle was sitting unusually low and there was a decrease in vehicle control while driving. The dealer stated that they were aware of this problem and that the rear module was the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000 and the current mileage was 68,000.

On september 4, 2008, i experienced a low tire pressure sensor warning on my 2007 ford expedition (vehicle was purchased new;all tires on the vehicle were the original factory installed tires.)i checked all tires and did not see an immediate loss of tire pressure and since i was in a rural area at the time i felt that it was in my best interest to get to a more populated area where i could have the tires checked.the tire quickly lost all air pressure and went flat causing me to take an evasive move to get off the road.the tire was changed and i took the failed tire into future ford of roseville where i purchased my vehicle.the tire had to be replaced.there was no evidence of a puncture or reason for the tire to fail.no compensation from the dealer was offered.on october 16, 2008, the low tire sensor light again activated.after checking all tires i found that one of the tire values was split and leaking (hissing).i was able to take the vehicle to a local tire company to have it repaired.upon inspection of the other tire values we found that all the values (except for the new tire that had been installed) were all split and would eventually start to leak.i had all the values replaced on all the tires.at the time the tire company, les schwab, informed me that there have been some reported issues with leaking tire valves on some ford vehicles.i did some research and found that consumer reports is recommending that all 2007 ford vehicle tire valves be inspected and replaced if found to be cracked. On 10/17/08, i reported this to future ford of roseville and they were unaware of any type of tire valve failures.seems that car dealers should be checking for this problem on dill valves.les schwab was able to recover 2 of the cracked valves from my expedition. All are tr414 valves which appear to be under investigation for failure and possible safety issues.my cost for this problem is now $250.00.

Have a 2007 ford expedition and had to replace one tire because of flat on the highway that ruined the tire. I've had two more flats that resulted in tire damage and have to replace them when i get the money. We could not find the problem of the first tire, until a friend of mine told me about ford having problems with valve stems. Called ford and dealerships where i bought vehicle and they do not want to help me at all . Tires have less than 10,000 miles on them. Im goingto be out over 600.00 dollars for there mistake. Im going ahead and replacing the other tire and stem for me and my family safety. Please help with this problem.

My 2007 ford expedition experienced an immediate loss of tire pressure on one tire while on the freeway on 27-july 2009 that resulted in the tire becoming immediately deflated and ruined.elder ford (troy, michigan) informed me of a faulty tire valve issue that ford motor company is aware of, but has not issued a recall.the dealer found all valves on my 2007 expedition were cracked and replaced all valves but the spare tire, which they stated they were not allowed to check or replace.a conversation with their customer service department on 31-july leads me to believe ford motor company has a very large and costly safety problem they do not want to deal with due to the economic times.remember the firestone/explorer fiasco?

Nhtsa said that there is not a safty concern that the valve stems on certin ford cars are splitting.they have closed the investigation april 9, 2009.that's great, except that on april 11, 2009 one of our valve stems blow out while we were driving on a mountain highway.there was no warning and the tire shredded.2 18 wheelers had to do all kinds of moves to avoid hitting us.the one nearly did.the tire was completely shredded and we could hardly get far enough off the highway to put on the spare.with three small kids inthe car, it was very scary.the on april 25th, 2009, it happened to the other front tire while we were on a trip.when inspecting the two back valves, they were barley holding on.we were in the middle of nowhere and nothing was opened for help.

On 7-21-08 my front pass. Tire went flat and had to be replaced. The valve stem was leaking. Ford replaced the tire under my warranty. On 10-02-08 my rear drivers side tire went flat due to the valve stem leaking, only the valve stem had to replaced, but ford would not fix it under my warranty, the repair cost was $21.00. On 10-06-08 my rear pass. Tire was low and the cause was again a leaking valve stem. Since ford stated that this was not under my warranty i went to allen tire and had all four valve stems replaced at a cost of $101.65.

Tire pressure light on. Dealer found cracks in tire stems on al four and replaced.

Clamp holding the pressure sensor broke in pieces ranging from 3 to 8 inches. This metal along with the pressure sensor rattled around loose in the tire causing excessive vibration at speeds over 40 mph. This happened on both front tires. Car had approx 49,000 miles when problem was found. Pieces were removed (which i still have) and new tires installed with out pressure sensor. I get error message on control panel every time i start the car.

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the vehicle's alarm sounded, which indicated that the tire pressure was low.he placed air in the tires, but the tire pressure did not increase.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they discovered that the tire valve stems (tr414) were also defective.the valve stems were replaced.the manufacturer stated that they would reimburse the contact for the replacement costs.the current and failure mileages were 183,000.

Driving my wife noticed the tire pressure light come on.once she was able to get over she noticed that air was leaking from the tire valve.upon further inspection, we noticed that all the valves were cracked and defective.

Cars traction control kicked on causing car to sputter and shake like it was trying to get out of deep snow or ice but incident happen on dry ground 76 degrees outside.

While exiting the bypass the traction assist came on for no reason causing the truck to shake and almost felt like the truck accelerated as i hit the break. It was on a turn but i was actually going under the speed limit on dry road. Starting to have more problems with this vehicle to the point it is troubling me to even drive or have my kids in or around the vehicle and wanted to get it on record. Will be posting other incidents that have occured since i have owned this vehicle which is only a month this week.

Traction control lamp lights, truck shutters.

Road conditions-wet; outside temp.-46deg.(march 23, 2010 mileage at incident occurance - 68659) upon driving the vehicle the traction control warning light(rsc) will sudden appear alternating with a wrench warning light, which then disables the ability to accelerate (even with the pedel depressed to the floor).when this occurs it forces me to have to immediately pull over to side of the road for safety.when this occurs the engine is still running as well as all the electronics and no check engine light appears.this issue has happened multiple times and has been brought to the ford dealership for invesitigation, they have been unable to reproduce the issue while in the shop, since there are no codes to check they are unable to fix the issue.no parts have been repair or replaced.i feel as though if this were to happen while in the high speed lane on the highway, this would cause a serious situation in which an accident may occur and i fear for the safety of my family or anyone that drives this vehicle.all service on this vehicle has been done at the ford dealership while under warranty (75k extended warranty).the last time this specific issue occurred was may 2009 mileage was 54494. In total this problem as occured6 times since i have owned the vehicle.

While driving the traction control light will come on..causing the car to shutter and shake, while this is happening, it is like the brakes do not work. I have taken it to the shop multiple times nothing can be done because they can not get a code because the check engine light is not on. I will not allow my children to drive this car because it is to dangerous...it has since had the traction control light on followed by a wrench and the check engine light came onnow it will not go over 30 mph, it is sitting at the ford dealer as we speak. I have been dealing with this for the last 3 years. This all may have been prevented had the problem been found sooner. At this point i amconsidering to surrender my car, i would rather have a hit on my credit than something happening to my family while in this vehicle!!!

The contact owns a 2007 ford expedition.the contact stated that the traction control light illuminated, causing the brakes to malfunction. The contact stated the vehicle would shutter abnormally, causing the transmission to surge. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 60,000.

I replaced the air compressor and it was working fine but then started blowing hot air, the mechanic checked all the lines and found that the emergency brake cable was not secured correctly and had rubbed a hole in the high side hose and was leaking refrigerant oil. Now my options are either doing away with the back air conditioner or replacing the hose which is $600.

Always when vehicle is in lower gear, with rpms between 1-2, the vehicle will suddenly begin to vibrate/shake and feels like you're riding off the road on an interstate (like the speed ridges in the pull-off lane. It idles great, seems to change gears smoothly (automatic). Sometimes the vibration is minimal but other times it's quite noticable, but usually lasts less than 15 seconds. If the rpms are over 1.5 it only does it less than 5 seconds. I wondered if it is faulty motor mounts or transmission mounts? i've had tires rotated, bought a new set of tires, shocks are fine. I've tried everything.

There's a gas smell inside the vehicle when the engine is on.also when heater or air conditioner is on.it's been happening since june 2015.

Throttle stuck wide open, power exceeded brakes ability to stop. Released by violently pressing accelerator repeatedly.

Our 2007 ford expedition was sitting in our driveway, when our neighbor heard a loud pop noise. When he looked, he saw that our back left window had shattered--for no reason. This is the 2nd window to shatter for no reason. Luckily our kids were not in it, or they could have been injured. We will now have to replace the 2nd window in our truck in less than a year for them spontaneously shattering.

We were loading up our 2007 ford expedition to go out. The vehicle had just been started to warm up, when ishut the rear hatch, the glass shattered causing a huge mess allover the rear of the truck. The 2 contacts were dangling from the truck, but the glass was completely shattered out.

The contact was unable to open the windows because they were frozen shut and in order to determine when to change lanes, the contact would have to open the driver's door while in transit. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 7,000 and the current mileage was 38,000.
