This problem has been confirmed to exist in both a 2011 and a 2014 ford edge.with a passenger weighting 72-75 lbs in the front passenger seat, the air bag turns on and off depending on how the passenger is sitting on the seat.this same passenger has traveled almost 50,000 miles in a 2011 mustang which has a similar sensor system and has never had the air bag turn on.we are able to reproduce this problem at will.this information suggests a problem in the ford edge with the software that monitors the front passenger seat sensors and determines when to turn on the front passenger air bag.this was reported to ford on 07/22 and we checked on it on 09/23 and there was no update, indicating that they have not taken any action on this.

The first episode was hitting a deer head on at 45mph the airbags never went off. The second episode was another direct hit head on from rear ending someone who cut infront of me. The airbags did not deploy either time and the police officers and everyone involved were surprised they didn't.

Backup camera intermittently goes black and blank.it gives a warning that the camera is not available.took it to the dealer when it first started happening in 2019, but they wanted over$1000 to fix it.there is a recall for the 2020 with this problem due to an electrical issue.why is the 2014 not included?

Rear backup camera can show distorted images or suddenly go dark when engine is running and put into reverse when backing up. Camera image is sporadic. It will sometimes flicker and go out or not engage at all showing either a black or blue screen and saying "rear camera not available". Happens w/o warning. Warmer weather effects it more often than in cold or when foot is applied to the brake. I purchased car brand new from ford dealership and this started happening after warranty was up. Took to ford dealership to diagnosecost estimate over $800 to fix. Took to local repair shop and was told it was electrical and needed a code that they couldn't access. There's a recallfor 2020 ford edge vehicles on this matter as this should be grandfathered in in the recall. It does the same exact thing! i have video that shows much more how this happens.

The driver side door sensor/ latch is failing. Door is closed or slammed multiple times and sensor shows errors of: door ajar, transmission not in park, engine on because it doesn't sense the door being shut. Therefore the overhead light stays on and can potentially drain battery. If continuing to drive with warning it will beep every few seconds. The doors will not automatically lock. When getting out of car and locking. It needs to be shut multiple times so light doesn't stay on and or alarm will not set.

Door ajar / transmission not in park sensor is not working properly.unsafe condition not knowing if door lock system is working properly.have to stop numerous time while driving to check if door is actually closed and locked.also will not allow interior lights to go off, and is safety issue when trying to drive at night. Extremely difficult to see due to lost of night vision. Ford motor knows of the issues for years but refuses to correct issue via a recall.the vehicle only has 31,000 miles on it.

Window master switchand door wire harness on drivers door does not operate.can not open any windows on the vehicle.rear windows will not open from rear door switches also. In case of accident windows can not be opened for exit purposes.can not open windows if stopped by a police officer, whereas, they may feel threatened by occupant in vehicle.is this a safety feature to be able to open windows. Ford dealer performed a vehicle check on may 20, 2021 and indicated the door harness may need replacement and the window master switch. Ford indicated the vehicle is 7 years old and the part is likely not made by ford anymore. Ford has no way to correct the issue. There were no warning lights, messages, regarding the stoppage on may 20, 2021

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving 40 mph, the wrench icon illuminated and the vehicle immediately started to lose power, which caused the speed to decrease. The failure occurred twice. The contact took the vehicle to north brothers ford inc (33300 ford rd, westland, mi 48185) where they replaced the electronic throttle body. The manufacturer was contacted and unable to assist. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 76,000.

Driver door ajar warning won't go out.doors won't lock.battery drains.transmission not in park warning.these warnings come on while parked and while the vehicle is moving.

Touchscreen stopped working.it controls hands-free phone, navigation, temperature, and radio.ford extended warranty on system, but did not include touchscreen itself, and is charging $1,000 to replace.touchscreen itself should be recalled.dangerous if need to make phone call and have to use cell phone rather than hands -free unit, or if relying on system to give navigation directions and it suddenly stops working.

Switch for park. Ar rolled and said not in park, kept warning.cost us $332.48, repaired july 18, 2018

Door ajar light strays on although door is completely closer, not allowing for door to lock and causing a distracting dinging sound with trying to drive, this also causes the other doors not to lock, as well as kills the battery leaving people stranded.

Intermittent door ajar warning and cannot lock doors and dome light stays on. Ford has a customer satisfaction program (19n09) for this issue but the dealer told me that my vin number does not qualify for this even though the door parts are the same part number from 2011 through 2014.

Power transfer unit leaking after 80,000 miles, had the vehicle serviced to replace ptu and new ptu is also leaking.other driving issues have occurred since including losing power steer capability on while driving at low speeds on uneven roads, unable to accurately recreate the issue as it is very intermittent.all check engine lights, wrench, and advancetrac dashboard warnings flash when electrical and propulsion systems malfunction.

Door ajar alert comes on after closing driver door causing interior dome light to stay on and external locking mechanism does not work such as lock code buttons and hand sensor causing the vehicle not to lock. This happens when exiting the vehicle. Concern fir battery drain, unsecured vehicle and extra lighting when driving. Have had an intermittent issue with back hatch door stating same thing. Noted this is ay known problem with previous year ford edge products and many comments out in the internet by other ford edge owners. This has been happening over the last several months

'when this condition occurs, the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) or wrench light will illuminate and the vehicle may enter a limited limp home mode,' federal officials said. 'in this mode, engine power and vehicle speed are reduced, while full function of the power steering, power braking, lighting, and climate control systems are maintained.

Driver side door latch/sensor malfunction.due to manufacture date of october 2014 my vehicle is not eligible under current recall for the latch (19n09) however my vehicle is currently at the dealership having the part replaced with out of pocket expense.

While trying to make a hands free call my sync quit working and the call had to be done manually using the in dash touchscreen.

Door ajar light comes on with driver's side door, even though door is closed.this in turn causes the lights to remain on inside, causing the battery to drain if not noticed.the door ajar light keeps the doors from locking, and can be a safety issue.this has happened many times now.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not able to restart and was towed to darcars ford (9020 lanham severn rd, lanham, md 20706, (301) 459-1100). Our edge currently has problems with the passenger compartment ac/heating. When you turn the ac on the drivers side blows hot air and the passenger side blows cold. When you turn the heater on the drivers side blows hot and the passenger side blows cold no matter where the controls are set. This started on 9-24-2018 and our vehicle only has a little over 42,000 miles on it. Very annoying.

Driver side front door ajar sensor failure. Sensor reads door ajar when door is closed that which keeps interior lighting on, dash alarm/warning stays on and drains the battery and could potentially leave you stranded. Found many people with this same issue on the same door, other door or multiple doors on the internet and many youtube videos showing this failure with most ford suv style vehicles in this model and year range. Called several mechanics and was quoted $400 + dollars to replace sensor with same version sensor that which will soon fail again according to mechanics and others that have replaced the sensor from internet and youtube source.

Door ajar message appeared when door is securely shut, also says shift to park, doors don't lock when they should, dome lights remain onlonger than they should, it also bings like when the seat belts aren't fastened, constantly have to push the ok button on steering wheel controls to stop the noise, continues to do this throughout ea time i drive the car.it started at about 45,000 miles, currently have 46,000 miles and it continues ea time the car is started and throughout the entire trip.i do not have the extended warranty and there should be a recall for this issue, the ford dealership told me they have had to replace numerous sensors that is causing this issue.it will cost several hundred dollars for repair, that i don't have to cover this repair.ford should not be allowed to install defective sensors.my car was purchased new in 2014.

My back up camera is projecting the image upside down when shown on the audio screen in the vehicle. I was backing up when the camera image changed from right side up to upside down.

Our ford edge will intermittently loose power and drops to a rough idle, engine light comes on. This can happen at hwy speeds or accelerating from a stop. The error code given is p2111 tac system-actuator stuck open. I can turn the switch off then restart it and it might run okay for awhile or not. Throttle body is clean and all connectors seem to look good, no corrosion.

My car has completely shut off while driving 70 mph on the highway!! a wrench icon lights up on the dash board. I can barely coast to the side of the road before car comes to a complete stop. I was sooo afraid of being killed! the mechanic checked and says there is nothing wrong with my car. It has happened 4 more times. The car starts up after i can put it in park and drives like nothing happened until the next incident. Who will have to die before ford finds the problem?

The back-up camera is not working, when the vehicle is only 5 years old. The vehicle hasn't been involved in any accident and the dealer asked $1000 to fix it. It apparently a manufacture defeat.

The vehicle is showing a "driver door ajar" indicator when the door is closed. Attempted to open and close the door but indicator still wont turn off. Alarm wont activate and all lighting stay on in the vehicle.

The rear window of vehicle shattered simultaneous to turning the ignition switch.there was no impact to the window; it just shattered.nothing dropped from the sky; the vehicle was parked in the driveway well away from traffic both vehicle and pedestrian.i repeat it just spontaneously shattered. There is only two thousand miles on this vehicle. This should not have happened.

1.press or loosing off brakes pedal gives a knocking noise. 2. Rear view camera flickers & shut off with a warning message. 3. Rearview side mirrors do not work. 4. Lighter plug located by middle compact towards back row does not work.

Vehicle displayed warning 'service advancetrac' and braked in an extremely rough and unsafe manner. Vehicle would not accelerate then after over 2000 rpms. Dealership identified as potential issue with steering angle sensor.

Random stalling. Usually when slowing down.dashboard lights up all kinds of warnings.no codes.shift is locked in park and can not move vehicle.always able to restart without issue after some delay.seems to help to unconnect positive battery terminal and drain charge.

The door ajar light comes on when i shut the driver side door. The door is latched and is shut properly but the light still comes on. Every time i brake it dings and it displaysthe door is ajar and transmission is not in park light. This issue is sporadic.

Advancetraclight continues to stay on

On april 3, 2018, my wife was driving our 2014 ford edge.as she was entering a curve at 35 mph, the 'low oil pressure light came on' and she immediately lost the capability to easily turn the steering wheel, and the car began to slow down rapidly.fortunately, she was not on a freeway or she could have been seriously injured or killed. She realized that even though the engine was still running, the gas pedal would not work.i called planet ford in houston where we purchased the car and i routinely have the car maintained. Anthony, the quick lane manager, told me to bring the car in. By then, we had checked the internet for similar occurrences and we had found that there had been thousands of similar reports and millions of dollars paid by ford in lawsuits. Anthony told me that he would fix the car at no cost after i explained the details and told him that this should have been a 'recall issue'. They had serviced the car less one month earlier. On tuesday, april 10th, i called and found that the car had been moved to the regular service area. It still was not fixed. Brad zook, the service manager, told me that i was going to have to pay for the repair even though i told him that anthony said it would be free.later that day, it was 'repaired' and we picked up the car. They had to replace the 'etb' which is exactly what the internet referred to. I called brad on wednesday and asked how they diagnosed the problem. He said it was a combination of codes (strange) and my description of the problem.how do i know that this won't happen again, or some other malfunction that wasn't a recall, will happen next!?

When driving at highway speeds (65 mph+) with cruise control enabled, if i pass an 18 wheeler, the car will suddenly jam on the brakes and decelerate from my current speed down below 55 mph. This happens in less then 3 seconds. There is no one in front of me - it is a clear straightaway.if i step on the gas the car will speed up and i'll pass the truck. At that point the cruise control will operate normally - until i pass another truck. This doesn't happen all then time. Maybe 20%. It seems to happen with tall tractor trailers more then normal trucks. Aside from the sudden stopping issue, the real problem is that cars behind me see that i am stopping for no apparent reason and if they're not paying attention they'll run right into the back of my car. This has been a day 1 problem - i bought the car new in 2014. I am adding my complaint to others who have reported this same issue. Fords response - pay $3000 to have your car fixed. This is a safety issue and there ought to be a recall to get it fixed.

I was driving my vehicle in rush hour traffic and it displayed a wrench symbol and went into limp mode. Due to the car slowing down, i had issues getting to the side of the highway.i had it towed to the dealer after 8 days they said it was the electrical signal to the throttle body. The manufacture has issued a recall on some models but not all and refuse to cover the repair even though it is a known issue. If the is a mandatory recall, they will have to cover this dangerous issue.please consider issuing a full recall.

Vehicle while moving lost all power while engine still running almostgot me and my daughter killed onstate highway by 2 vehicles today 3 12 2017

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not able to restart and was towed to darcars ford (9020 lanham severn rd, lanham, md 20706, (301) 459-1100). The dealer diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced and the battery needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Ford edge with 58,000 miles was being driven by wife. While traveling at 50-55 miles per hour, the vehicle showed a wrench icon and decelerated immediatly to 5mph in the middle of rush hour traffic in the left lane. The loss of power put the car into limp mode where my wife had to try to get to the side of the road. The ignition was turned off, then back on and the car drove fine afterwards. The sudden loss of propulsion is very scary espically right after dropping your 1 year old off at daycare who could have been in the car. We have researched this and found many other vehicles with this defect possibly throttle body. After turning the car off, all codes were erased so the only way to get the car checked for the issue would be to straight from ford "drive until the error happens again".

Oil was changed 06/15/2019 less than one week later on 06/20/2019 while turning from one city street onto another vehicle lost all power, oil pressure low warning and oil pressure light were displayed.vehicle had no power and began rolling backward.depressed brake and turned off ignition, restarted vehicle and all lights were extinguished.moved vehicle out of traffic and checked oil level which was full.took vehicle to local repair shop who stated that the oil pressure sensor was damaged.replaced oil pressure sensor on 06/20/2019, 2 days later while driving straight on city street, vehicle lost all power again and oil pressure low warning and oil pressure light came on again. Vehicle lost all power.turned off vehicle and restarted, all lights extinguished again.rear brake lights no longer function (upper on one side, lower on other) bulbs are not blown and fuse appears functional.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle's throttle failed and the accelerator pedal ceased to operate. The wrench warning icon illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. Once the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle resumed normal driving. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently and the check engine warning indicator steadily illuminated. Russ milne ford (24777 hall rd, macomb, mi 48042, 888-875-0668) was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. The manufacturer was also notified and did not assist. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 54,000.

It will not run over 5 miles per hour, it cranks ups and idles. I have researched this and the guy at the ford dealership said it may be the throttle body.

While driving, the speed was around 50mps the vehicle made a notice on the dash that said "low oil pressure" . It then at the same moment slowed down from 50 to 0 within about 50 feet and completely lost power steering almost causing a fatal crash with a child in the car. The vehicle is back at the dealership where it was purchased at and has been evaluated for malfunctions. Although the dealership service has not said anything about what happen or what the problem was and i feel extremely uncomfortable even going somewhere with my family knowing this has happen once. I need to have this problem rectified before a fatal crash takes me and my family out. What can we do about getting a recall on this?

Every time i accelerate hard to reach highway speeds, the exhaust leaks into the cabin causing breathing problems and drowsiness. This is a common issue and the ford dealership does not seem to want to cover the costs of this safety issue.

While driving 55 mph on the highway, accelerator suddenly stopped working, wrench light came on, and engine went into limp home mode.it was very unsafe trying to cross lanes to get off of highway as car slowed very rapidly.this is the same action associated with the well documented throttle body problem ford has had with other models.once off the road, motor was shut off and restarted which made the problem go away but unfortunately erased any error codes that may have been generated.

Car stopped running in the middle of a red light and when pushing the gas would not do anything and when put into park the whole car shook really bad. Had to get out of the middle of the road so that i would not be hit from behind.

Purchased new 2014 edge in august 2014. Incident occurred on october 18, 2015 at 19,900 miles.on a clear, sunny, sunday drove from 9:00 am northwest of austin, texas about 250 miles with several stops along the way to 3:00 pm. Entering galveston, texas. No problems of any kind along the way. Entering town, driving straight and level along road in clear weather, dry smooth road about 30 mph. Engine suddenly quit - dead. Coasted into (fortunate) parking lot. Noted bright red oil pressure light came on while coasting - other lights also but could not read them due to stressful situation. Checked oil level in parking lot - full and normal. Tried starting engine - started right up with no problem. Started and stopped engine several times - all with no problem. Cautiously continued driving in galveston and returned back to dealership near home. No further problems with engine. Dealership service could find no problem and had no real idea what caused engine to suddenly die while driving. Problem has not repeated - yet.

Vehicle abruptlyslowed down while going 35-40 mph. Error message on display said see owners manual with the wrench symbol which is a loss to the power train. Vehicle had a rough idle and gas pedal was not responding and i had to be coast to side of road after which it was turned off. After about 3-5 minutes i restarted the vehicle and everything was fine. I was going straight and up a small incline. Vehicle would not go forward and i had to coast backwards down hill.

Driving in normal conditions vehicle will loose power and the wrench light will come on pull over turn vehicle off and back on it drives with no issues

Car lost all driving function while in motion on a city street. It basically died. The shifter always shows an error of "not in park" when the car is in fact in park.

My car has completely shut off while driving 70 mph on the highway!! a wrench icon lights up on the dash board. I can barely coast to the side of the road before car comes to a complete stop. Vehicle losses power while traveling on highway and city street. Must pulll over and restart the vehicle. No set speed. Press the accelerator pedal vehicle creeps along.very concerned with the safwty of the vehicle traveling along the highway. Have spoken with the dealer and twehy are looking into it.

Random stalling. Usually when slowing down.dashboard lights up all kinds of warnings.no codes.shift is locked in park and can not move vehicle.always able to restart without issue after some delay.seems to help to unconnect positive battery terminal and drain charge.

While driving at approx 35-40 mph, car suddenly lost power, the yellow wrench light lit up and i was unable to accelerate nor maintain speed. I barely managed to get to side of road due to heavy traffic; the engine was running very rough and wouldn't smooth out. I turned the engine off, waited a minute before restarting, the wrench light went off and engine ran normally for the next few days.however, within the week, the same thing happened again.

Driving my vehicle in traffic and it displayed a wrench symbol and start shaking lost power, had to drift to the side of the road in traffic. I had it towed to the dealer same day after 3 hours of being on side of the road they said it was the oil cap had came off, but you could not go but 20 mph. Would like to know whys hasn't anyone issued an recall on this year model. To cover the cost of this issue, could have lost my life. Please consider issuing a full recall.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle lost power and slowed to a stop. There were unknown warning indicators illuminated when the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to wehr ford (11311 us-60 bus, mountain grove, mo 65711, (417) 926-3192) and repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was submitted; however, the contact was informed that ford could not offer assistance. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Driving down the hwy, lost all acceleration. Engine still alive, had power, radio, air etchad to coast to the side of the road. Restarted car after a few minutes and problem resolved. Took to dealer but they could not find a code. Suggested replacing throttle body as possible solution based on how often they see this.

Vehicle repeatedly has stalled while driving.also will sometimes start with a rough idle and check engine light.problem is resolved if vehicle is turned off and restarted.

Under hard acceleration a strong odor of exhaust is smelled inside the cabin. Windows up and makes no difference if a/c is on or off or in the recirculation mode.

I was driving my car down a side street when all of a sudden the dashboard flashed "low engine oil pressure" and i lost control of the steering, brakes, and gas.the car essentially just stalled out and just started rolling until i hit the emergency brake.i had the car towed to the dealership and after looking at it for two days they couldn't replicate the error and couldn't find anything wrong with the car.the computer registered no errors and i was told there was nothing they could do.

On 9-27-14, using adaptive cruise control on straight, 4-lane divided highway with no traffic in lane ahead or behind.vehicle's brakes suddenly activated dropping speed from 74 to 50 mph.taken to dealership 10-7-14 and issue could not be duplicated.happened again on 11-11-14with same roadway & traffic conditions, this time 55 to 50 mph drop.taken to dealer on 11-20-14 and again no issues were detected with the vehicle.contacted ford customer service who said to take it back again to generate a "hot line" complaint for an engineer to look at the vehicle.took vehicle back 12-3-14 and left it so they could drive it for a few days and try to duplicate the issue (they supplied a rental).called after 2 days and said an engineer "happened to be there looking at another vehicle so they looked at mine".no issue found, but they did a reset of the system.the entire time they had the vehicle, it was driven a total 6 (six) miles.also, adaptive cruise is set as a default and cannot be changed.if you turn the "adaptive" feature off, it goes back when you start the vehicle again.

2014 ford edge w/ 100000 miles. Driving in town and headlights went off. All other lights still on; tail, dash, parking, t/s, flashers and accessory. Retired ford mechanic. Started activating all light related switches. All things normal except no headlight &/or high beam. Wiggled and pulled all fuses and relays in the under hood fuse panel. Wiggled and pulled all electrical looms and connectors. Checked headlight plugs and connectors. Nothing!!slammed hood and lights returned. Has not re-occurred yet.

I purchased this vehicle used and have had it for one year. The head lights are the worst headlights i have ever experienced on a vehicle. Headlights do not project adequately down the road on either high or low beam. Both high and low beams are not bright enough. Poor illumination above the road and to the sides. There are blind spots when going up a hill or turning a corner. I live in a rural area and it is very hazardous to drive this vehicle at night.

Whoever thought these ece headlights are great needs to get off the drugs. Just bought a new 2014 ford edge. 2 nights ago was driving on a very hilly road. As i was coming up from the bottom, the cutoff line of these things kept me from seeing two people walking in my lane. When they came into the beam, i slammed on the brakes and scared the crap out of them and me. If i end up killing anyone because i couldn't see them because of these cutoff pos's, i'll be seeing you guys in court. I highly suggest you "build american" and get these cutoff things off american cars. Give someone who wears glasses a pair that have the top half of the lenses blacked out and see how they like it. This is just a very unsafe idea. Let the europeans worry about their problems.[xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Headlights are projector beam style with a very distinctive cutoff at the top of the beam which makes impossible to see any distance when traveling on hilly roads.also, the headlight beams are extremely narrowly focused directly ahead making it very hard to see anything to the sides when needing to make a turn.high beams are very weak.

I am writing to complain of the poor visibility from the headlights on this vehicle. With low beam on there is a black out line about 30 to 40 feet in front of the vehicle which changes with elevation of the road. I drive in rural areas 80% of the time and have difficulty seeing far enough in front to drive safely. When on high beam it is difficult to see to the sides far enough to see any objects possibly entering the roadway. I am wondering if anything can be done to resolve this issue.thanks for your time.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving various speeds, the headlights were not bright enough and the contact could not see the road. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000. The vin was not available.

Halogen headlights on low beam do not project very far down the road and do not illuminate at all above approximately 40 inches above ground level so it is impossible to readstreet signs when not in areas with street lights. They are aligned according to ford specifications. Very hazardous. Aaa has conducted studies on this problem and it affectsmultiplemanafacture'svehicles that use halogen headlights. This has been a problem since vehicle was new and dealer has no remedy.

The ford edge was bought new in december 2014, and this was the first time i drove the car at night. I live in a rural area in northeastern pa. With no street lights. The vehicle has "projection beam headlights" and on high beam, the light is so focused to the front, that you lose sight of any road you may be trying to turn onto. You can very easily run off the road since you loose the relationship of where you are driving on the dark road. With the lights on low beam it is as if a black shade covers the top 2/3 of the windshield making it even more difficult to see the road, turning or not. It is bad enough on a somewhat level area and impossible to see more than 10 yards ahead when going downhill so that if another vehicle is approaching and you change to low beam too soon, you can't see the road or anything standing in it between yourself and the other vehicle. I can only imagine what happens in the fog and you try to drive with low beams. I returned to the dealer, explained the problem i was having, they "adjusted the headlights" ( there was little to no change in the dark). I have since taken several people for a ride in the vehicle at night to demonstrate the headlights and have been told that my description doesn't do the problem justice. I have also taken pictures from the drivers seat out the windshield to show to anyone interested. This is the most dangerous vehicle i have ever driven at night. I had aftermarket fog lights installed that help somewhat but doesn't solve the problem. I would be willing to bet that a number of single vehicle accidents at night are caused by these headlights.i did contact ford motor company, explained the problem and was politely told "this is the way the lights work". I find it hard to believe that more owners living in rural areas haven't complained.

Driver side head lights do not come on when lights are first turned on. Checked bulbs and ok. Then when high beam is turned on the light will come on and both low and high beam will work. Ok for a couple days then same process. In checking online blogs see a lot of owners complain of same or similar problem. . suggestions to replace relay but when going to dealer suggest replacing complete assembly which is very expensive. Also relays make like almost a transmission shifting noise when going from low to high beam and back. Because of lack of dependability feel compelled to have to check lights every time you go someplace.

Bought vehicle approx 1.5 years ago from a chrysler dealer with 28000 miles. Presently about 46000 miles. While driving at city speed, came to a red light and started smelling this odor of burnt differential fluid or rotten egg smell. Immediately called dealer and made appt, for following day. We were told it was not the catalytic converter (which we thought it wasand under warranty), but it was the cpu unit.we were also told it would cost us $3000.00 . The warranty on the unit is 5 years or 60000 miles. Whichever comes first. How could this happen on a unit that normally lasts a lifetime.especially at 46000 miles. We did some research because dealer said they cannot warranty or even check with manufacture on warranty. We found that this is a common defect with the 2014 ford edge anf ford knows the issye and will not do anything to recall or repair any of these issues. We dont have $3000 dollars to repair the issue but am disappointed that we have to make a known repair on a vehicle boutght a year and a half ago that should not happen. There have been news reports on tv about this particular issue on its safety . Https://bc.ctvnews.ca/mobile/ford-owner-fears-for-her-safety-after-serious-car-malfunction-1.3139692 . Noticed steady stream of fuel leaking, from fuel line behind rear wheel weal, while vehicle was stationary during refueling process. Fuel continued to leak, from the fuel line at alarming rate, while the vehicle was in motion to be dropped off to be serviced at the dealership. From gas station to dealership is less than 5 miles, however fuel gauge went from 3/4 tank to half way above 1/2 tank. In addition, the miles to empty gauge dropped almost 50 miles over this time frame (about a mile every 10th of a mile driven).

I bought the vehicle new, and have slightly over 42,000 miles on it. In november 2018, when driving on a 2 lane road in the city, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration and the wrench light on the dashboard came on. I had to quickly maneuver to the side of the road as the vehicle lost speed and came to a stop. Pushing down on the accelerator would not do anything. I had to have the car towed to a dealer, where they diagnosed that the throttle body was binding due to carbon build-up. The dealer replaced the throttle body and cleaned the fuel injection system and fuel metering system.as the vehicle was no longer under warranty, i had to pay over $650 for the repairs.

I had been driving for about 40 minutes around 35 miles per hr, on a street. I slowed down to change lanes to enter the freeway ramp.then while the vehicle was in motion, it would began to slow down and lose power. The wrench icon appeared, but was able to steer, around a few feet, into a service station . The vehicle came to a complete stop. I kept the engine running but there was no acceleration. When pressing the accelerator there was no activity. I placed the vehicle in park and turned off the ignition. Maybe one minute later, i restarted the engine. The vehicle started right up.the accelerator worked properly. Instead of entering the freeway i took another route home, which was about 15 miles away. I had the vehicle taken to a ford dealership the next day which was 4/11/2019. After inspecting it,ford stated they could not identify any problems. I have around 76,000 miles on the vehicle. I am very much afraid to drive this vehicle, because of the safety danger that it pose. I am returning it back to ford for further inspection. I did not receive any warning before the vehicle loss acceleration. I would not have been able to avoid a crash,if there would have been the usual traffic or if i would have entered the freeway as planned.

Vehicle lost engine power in traffic on a city street with speed limit of 35 mph. I coasted to a stop as i could not accelerate. I had to pull to side of road and turn off the engine and restart it. I was only able to go about 1 block before it happened again. Same issue. Loss of engine power - no acceleration. This issue happened on more time before i could get to a nearby parking lot. I let the vehicle sit for about 5 hours. I tied to drive it again and the same thing (loss of acceleration, had to shut of engine and restart) happened 3 more times in a 4 block drive.

While driving on town street the car started slowing down and the wrench light came on and the car felt like it it just lost all power - not electrical but it slowed down to a crawl.i was able to pull the car over to the side of the road, shut off the wrench and shut off the car.i let it sit for a minute then turned it on and it was fine.i took it to the dealership today 10/20 and they identified that it was the throttle body.this was a very unsafe event and my car has only 34,614 miles on it.it could have caused a serious accident if i hadn't pulled the car over as it just stopped in the middle of this very busy street.

I drove my 2014 ford edge up about two blocks to a busy street, and attempted to make a left turn when it was clear / safe.midway across a 5 lane street, my car stalled.as much as i pushed the gas pedal, nothing happened.the wrench symbol appeared on the dash, and the car was shaking.i had my two babies in the car with me, and we're lucky we weren't t-boned by traffic coming at us from both directions.i was somehow able to coast across the intersection in time to pull over safely.once i was stopped the car for about 10 minutes to call road side assistance, i started the engine again, and everything seemed normal.i tried to drive it further, but after about 20 miles, it stalled again the same way.again, i pulled over and turned it off, and it seemed to work when i turned it back on.once it stalled for a third time, i had to pull over and have it towed.upon further research, this seems to be a problem other drivers are facing with this make and model, and it is a very dangerous safety issue.the vehicle gave no warning that something was wrong (like an indicator light in advance or even a strange noise) before it stalled, and i have received no communication from ford about this safety issue of which ford seems to be aware.

The fuel stops going to the engine while driving on a country road. This has happened on 3 occasion since i purchased the car in 2014. Dates of occurrence 12/24/15, 8/5/16, and 8/12/16.

I see that some 2014 ford edge vehicles have a fuel pump recall. Why is my 2014 ford edge not included. I have had to replace the fuel pump.

It will not run over 5 miles per hour, it cranks ups and idles. I have researched this and the guy at the ford dealership said it may be the throttle body.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph, the vehicle experienced an excessive fuel leak. The contact stated that there was a mild fuel odor entering through the a/c vents inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to tate dodge chrysler jeep ram (7429 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061) to be diagnosed which was still pending. The vehicle was not repaired. I keep getting this code p1450 on my car for check engine light i've already paid at firestone to have a piece switched out once which was not even broken. The light keeps coming on. When you search it appears many people have this problem with many fords.

On saturday oct. 6 at approx. 9 p.m. With mild weather/temp. At 70 mph on left lane of highway in a construction zone with no emergency shoulder, wrench symbol appeared and it would not keep up to speed. Because of the sudden slow down, we were almost hit several times trying to get to the right. The speed dropped suddenly.limped it along to what we "thought was a safe exit" and called state police.while waiting i kept the car on with hazard lights.then two vehicles appeared tried to block us in and we believe rob us.i was able to hit the gas and get 1/4 mile before it did it again. Would not move, chugged and cut off. The suspicious people took off but it was terrifying to be so vulnerable and not be able to get away.it was towed by state police to closest dealer of the auto group we purchased from as a certified pre-owned vehicle.after reading online that this has happened to many, many people and how dangerous it is, i wanted to report it.this issue is going to kill people. It is the throttle body.the forums are loaded with people that faced this sudden dangerous situation.

'when this condition occurs, the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) or wrench light will illuminate and the vehicle may enter a limited limp home mode,' federal officials said. 'in this mode, engine power and vehicle speed are reduced, while full function of the power steering, power braking, lighting, and climate control systems are maintained.

After driving and placing the vehicle in park, then turning off the engine; which is done by "pushing button control," the indicator reads " transmission not in park". Although the gear handle is fully engaged in the park position. Only after pushing the gear handle with a little force to ensure it's in the "park", position, doesthe dash indicator changes to "park". And it's safe to exit the vehicle.

The following happens roughly a few times a month but cannot be reproduced intentionallyā€¦.i pull into my garage, or a parking space, etc and put the car in park, the dashboard shows a p for park but it also shows a message that says car needs to be in park in order to shut off (something a long these linesā€¦) so i have to jiggle it for a few seconds for it to register that itā€™s in park. It also starts paddle shifting by itself while i am driving!!! i believe what is happening is related to the existing recalls (20v692000 & 14v393000) onedgeā€™s, but does not include my vin. Please help!

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While attempting to park the vehicle, the "transmission not in park" warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (beyers ford located at 170 ridgedale ave morristown, nj 07960) where it was diagnosed that the shifter assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 62,788. Updated 10/05/17*lj

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transfer case exploded. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 14v393000 (power train) however, the vin was not included. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the power train warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred twice, but the vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to crain ford of little rock (4601 colonel glenn plaza dr., little rock, ar 72210) where a diagnostic test was not performed; however, the contact was informed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,450.

Car lost all driving function while in motion on a city street. It basically died. The shifter always shows an error of "not in park" when the car is in fact in park.

I've noticed over the course of the past 2 years that the transmission slams into gear between 1st and 2nd causing the car to jerk.this has happened approx. 12 times that i can recall. It usually occurs between 10 mph and 20 mph.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While idling, the vehicle stalled and the wrench warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that there was a loud abnormal noise coming from the transmission. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions where it was diagnosed that the main computer needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,500.

When i put the vehicle in park it displays the "transmission not in park" light. When this displays you cannot lock doors properly. The only way to adjust this is to either tap the gear shift button for standard drive or restart and kill the car. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.this has been happening off and on since 30,000 miles but out of the 3 year warranty. I am being told they have to replace the shifter to correct the problem . They also tell me it is a common problem with this car.

When putting the vehicle in park it does not register the park position. After turning it off it pulled forward, but normally it will stay parked. I have a video of the park not engaging, but it is bigger than 5 mb. It has been happening for about 2-3 weeks, will be taking it to the dealership.

Right front axle failurewarning of transmission not in park

I noticed oil on my garage floor from my wife's ford edge. I took it in to my local ford dealer and was told i need a new p t u.this suv only has 64,000 and some miles.i had the part replaced to the tune of $2100.00 plus. I have since found out that this is a common part to go bad on the ford edge.i feel this part is defective in design or defective because the parts are not built strong enough to do the job.ford knows there is a problem with the p t ubut will not offer any help to the consumer.

Please advise and check this news report. Right now this vehicle we spent $22000 thousand is parked and cannot be driven because it's too dangerous

From a stop or at low speeds the suv lunges forward without warning.this has happened several times over the past few months.when suv was purchased new; the transmission failed and i was without a car for theee weeks.i have maintained the suv and all issued recalls have been fixed.this is a major issue and anytime i take it to ford dealership they find no issue.let me tell you; this is an issue!my last three vehicles have been fords and would appriciate this issue be solved

I was parked with the car on for about 15 minutes when out of no where the power train malfunction/reduced power light came on. The suv has a loud clunk sounds when i try to move it. This is the second time this has happened within 2 years. The first time i was driving and get stranded on the road.

Vehicle was in motion, i was driving down the highway at 60 mph, i went to change lanes and the vehicle suddenly loses power, goes into limp home mode, the wrench appears on the dash and i must pull off to the emergency shoulder. The vehicle was towed in to ford, where they explained my throttle body was bad and needed to be replaced.

The power train malfunction light came on while driving. I was on the interstate going around 75 mph and on 3 lanes of heavy morning commute traffic. When the power train light came on, i lost the ability to use the gas and could not accelerate. I did have the ability to brake. I had to get to the side of the road quickly despite the heavy traffic. I stopped on the side of the road, turned the car off and back on. Once turning off and on, the power train light was no longer illuminated and i was able to drive again. The cause of the fault in unknown.

Car stopped running in the middle of a red light and when pushing the gas would not do anything and when put into park the whole car shook really bad. Had to get out of the middle of the road so that i would not be hit from behind.

Driving in normal conditions vehicle will loose power and the wrench light will come on pull over turn vehicle off and back on it drives with no issues

Power take off assembly failed according to the service department this is a major problem with this particular vehicle and they can randomly fail regardless of mileage and can actually explode and wipe the transmission out and if that was to happen while driving could be disastrous on the highway but fortunately that did not happen but could have ford needs to recall and fix this issue

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. When making a turn, the vehicle would not accelerate and the service advancetrac warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the same failure as listed in nhtsa campaign number: 14v393000 (power train). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 65 mph, the vehicle loss motive power and decelerated. The contact's husband pulled over to an exit ramp where the vehicle stalled. The contact and her husband exited the vehicle and pushed the vehicle to a rest stop. The contact's husband waited for a moment to restart the vehicle and continued driving to his residence. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband took vehicle to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed which was still pending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

After stopping and putting the transmission shift lever in park, a message will appear on the dash that says the transmission is not in park. But it is. You can click the shift switch and the message will go out within 5-10 seconds. Every once in a while it will stay on for close to 30 seconds. The message doesn't come up constantly. Usually about every couple of times you stop and park. You never know if the transmission is really in park. You have to assume that it is. One of these times it really will not be and someone will get hurt. The dealer doesn't want to fix it until it comes on constantly. Now it is only intermittent.ford has a tsb on the problem. But they want the customer to pay for the repair. It covers several ford models over several years. To me this is a safety issue. The owner never really knows if the transmission is in park or not.this has been happening on my vehicle for over a year now.

When shifted into park light comes saying not in park. Transmission fluid leaks when in park.no leaking in neutral.

My vehicle lost power. A wrench icon appeared on the dash. I was enteringa gas station sothe car was in motion and i was able to park. I looked it up and found out it was a throttle body failure.. I had it towed to a ford dealer. I didnt trust to drive it. Ford could not duplicatethe issue but the code was retained.p2111. The issue was not covered under the recall which was disappointing.if it's a known issue it shouldnt matter the yr and vin#. It's a dangerous issue. It was coveredunder my extended warrantyluckily and was repaired.

I have infrequent linkage concerns while traveling at slower speeds usually in parking lot type traffic where braking and light acceleration are constant.after coasting, in drive, there is a slight hesitation when the accelerator is pressed, then a noticeable, sometimes hard, engagement of the transmission.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle decelerated and the wrench icon indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was taken to mac haik ford (972-223-8050, located at 515 s interstate 35 east service rd, desoto, tx 75115) where the technician stated that there was no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Pulled into a parking stop at the grocery store; went to put my car in park, shifter went into park, on the dash it was saying i was in reverse. The car was definitely in reverse. Was not able to push in the shifter button to change gears or move the shifter at all. You were able to manually change the gears within the engine, but not with the shifter.

I was out of town on the by pass went over a rr track slowly then took back off and heard a popping noise, went about 4 more miles and turned off as soon as i straighten my steering wheel out to head on down the road a big pop and my car stopped hard and jerked us and motor rev up. Got out to see what happened. My front tire was sideways. Iā€™m so glad i had just turned off the by pass (60 mph) and was going slow.the axle and ball joint broke.it scared me to think what could have happenedto us.

When accelerating, the driver's seat rocked upward and i almost lost control of the car.the rear of the seat remained attached to the rail. The diagnosis per the ford dealer was that the seat rails were faulty and needed to be replaced.this is a 2014 model car, and i have never had such an issue after over 40 years of driving.

When lowering the drivers power seat the mechanism clicks loudly the whole time lowering. When coming to a stop the seat juts forward. When accelerating from a stop the seat juts backwards making it difficult to control gas and brake pedal..

Drivers side seat and passenger seat appear to be loose and rock back and forth when starting and stopping quick and it has been reported to the dealership several times at service and nothing seems to be done to fix it and it has been that way since the vehicle was purchased and it had warranty left at that time and also extended warranty was purchased in 2016

Driver door ajar light remains on when door is completely closed and interior lights remain on. Safety hazard when driving at night also a drain on the battery. Vehicle was stationary when problem occurred but could not resolve and had to drive with interior lights on at night.

Power seat assembly is broken and it looks to be a common problem and it needs addressed asap before someone get killed.my family and i were driving on the interstate and the seat made a very fast "zip" or "ratcheting" noise and immediately tilted backwards several inches causing me to swerve all over the road but gained control of the vehicle.in my search of this problem, i found it was a very common problem and a very expensive fix all the while ford knowing about it, but not fixing the weak problems causing this.this is 100% a safety factor for everyone on the roadways and it needs addressed now before it becomes a statistic with injuries or worse gravestones.the part at first glance and educated guess is to be the motor drive gears or what ford is calling "rails". They expect you to purchase the whole "seat adjuster"bt4z-7861711-d for what is 100% a road safety hazard.

The car salesman was demonstrating how the rear seat backs fold down.he was on one side of the car, i on the other. We both returned the seat backs to their upright positions. He returned his seat back slightly beyond vertical. My wife sat in the seat, leaned forward, and pulled the lever to move the seat back to its vertical position. The seat back sprung forward. It forcefully hit my wife's back and neck, causing her to nearly lose her breath. It hurt her. The salesman then said she should have been leaning against the back when she pulled the lever to keep it from springing forward. The problem is not with the salesman and his instructions, it is with the force of the seat back springing forward.

When you are driving and braking, the pedal is very strong and the car hardly stops

When the vehicle sits overnight in the garage and i first back out the rear brakes make a grinding noise like the pads are sticking. When i start forward in drive it stops. The rear rotors are being grooved with this marks. The vehicle only has 23,000 miles on it. When i contacted ford i was told that the brakes are only covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles

1.press or loosing off brakes pedal gives a knocking noise. 2. Rear view camera flickers & shut off with a warning message. 3. Rearview side mirrors do not work. 4. Lighter plug located by middle compact towards back row does not work.

While driving the vehicle on a city street came to a stop light went to push the brake pedal and it felt like the vehicle had no brakes and was not stopping.pushed the pedal all the way to the floor and the vehicle finally came to a stop.the brake pedal felt extremely hard to push to get the brakes to stop the vehicle.took the vehicle to the ford dealership and they found the brake booster failed.the vehicle only has 33,874 miles currently on it.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the brakes failed to engage and was difficult to depress. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving various low speeds, the abs failed without warning. The contact stated that the brake pedal became stuck to the floorboard on several occasions while attempting to come to a complete stop. Velde ford (488 us-1, vero beach, florida 32962, (772) 569-3400) was made aware of the failure via telephone and stated that either the master cylinder, the brake booster, or the brake module may have been faulty. The vehicle was not formally diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving at 70 mph, the brakes automatically engaged. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Ma 07/30/15 updated 10/19/2017

Hard break when breaking, have to step on break with full force in a long distance to get a stop.

Bought the 2014 ford edge brand new. In march 2015.(january 23, 2017) @ 21680 miles: had to replace the rear brake pads/rotors and serviced calipers (parts & labor cost: $385.05). (april 2, 2018) @ 32000 miles: had to replace the front brake pads/rotors and serviced calipers (parts/labor cost: $400).my dealer says "it's due to the harsh central new york winters andits normal wear & tear;therefore not covered under the 3 yr 36 month warranty". I just don't understand why both rear and front brakes systems have had problems and had to be replaced.i would at least expect the brake system to perform at exceptional level greater than the my miles driven to date of 32000 miles.in the past, i have driven toyota's and jeep's and never experienced brake issues and/or repairs in less than 45000 miles.ford should really pay more attention to the quality or their product and attention to detail as the "braking system" stinks and is unacceptable.

On several occasions while driving and moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, my shoe has gotten hung up on the open space by the gas pedal. There is a open gap between the side panel near the gas pedal on the right. Unlike other cars i looked at it is not one continuous piece of molding. When moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake my shoe got caught in the open area. In 2 instances it caught and pulled off my sandal delaying my ability to get to the brake pedal. In other instances it caught my shoe and delayed my braking time.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undetermined speed, the brake pedal was depressed however, the pedal was hard to depress to the floorboard. Additionally, while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal squealing sound detected. While driving up hill with the cruise control engaged, the brake pedal was hard to depress and the cruise control failed to disengage. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.

With slightly over 70,000 miles on my 2014 ford edge the brake booster is bad and i am having to replace it.

30 days ago the transmission had trouble going into park, has gotten worse, is now parked in garage with block of wood behind wheels

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge.while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact experienced hard braking when the brake pedal was depressed.there were no indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.the dealer stated that there was a glitch and would not repair the vehicle.the manufacturer was notified.the approximate failure mileage was 9,000.updated 08/19/14*ljthe consumer stated when the cruise control wa activated and driving on a straight road, the brakes would activate. Updated 08/21/14

My brakes make a hissing sound and it's very hard to brake. The brake pedal hardly moves when i go to use the brakes.

While exiting a parking lot into the main thoroughfare the brakes suddenly became hard and unresponsive.additionally we have noted a squealing and hissing sound coming from the brakes when the pedal is depressed.we took the car to a ford dealership and determined there is an issue with the brake booster system. Research showed the ford had issued a safety notice (13n02) and extended the warranty on the ford edge and the lincole mkx vehicles for the model years2010 - 2013.i contacted ford customer service and requested that the safety notice be extended to cover 2014 as well as it is apparent the issue is ongoing and not isolated to the model years currently covered.ford has declined to cover the issue.

Brake booster issue.brake pedal feels spongy/soft when trying to stop.vehicle makes a whirring/hissing noise when letting off the brake pedal.the car feels like it won't stop in time for a stop sign or stop light while going as slow as 25 mph.there is an extended warranty on this make/model, but ford refuses to honor it and fix it.i have a vehicle with less than 65,000 miles that is undriveable.no warning lights came on the dashboard at all.the brakes got spongy out of no where.no warning.ford has confirmed the issue.no accidents in the vehicle because i refuse to drive it now.

While driving on a highway at aprox 50mph my car ran out of brakes completely. The car, a 2014 edge, is around 56000miles with all services uptodated performed by a ford dealer. In the latest service the change the rear brake pads

When you are driving and braking, the pedal is very strong and the car hardly stops

At 60,000 miles my 2014 ford edge master cylinder failed while driving at around 10 mph on my street as i was getting ready to park which effected braking. This caused me to hit the high concrete curb in front of my house and mess up my front bumper. I ended up having to pull the lower bumper cover off to keep it from dragging the ground. The master doesn't completely fail though, it works for about a dozen stops and then the pedal gets soft for one stop. Upon calling ford this is one of the vin numbers that is not covered under the recall. I don't understand how there are so many failures of the brake booster and master cylinder with a lot of ford models that have the same engine, buti'm suppose to believe they got the problem fixed before my vehicles...i have a feeling that as vehicles start to hit the same mileage around my year there will be a lot more of these issues popping up.

Brake booster needed to be replaced at 20,239 miles. Less than 2 years later the replacement brake booster failed and had to be replaced at 42,480 miles. It seems every 2 years or 20,000 miles the brake booster fails. Fortunately when the brakes failed, it was right after start up and backing out of parking spaces. The pedal became stiff with no stopping power. I had the booster replaced in both instances immediately after the first symptoms of failure occurred. Fortunately the failures did not occur while on city streets or highways. There was a recall on the 2011 thru 2013 ford edge models. You may consider including the 2014 edge for a recall as well.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the service engine warning light illuminated, and the wrench was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed a brake booster and vacuum leak. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,495.

Car lost all driving function while in motion on a city street. It basically died. The shifter always shows an error of "not in park" when the car is in fact in park.

Power steering went out while driving on the street. Approx 35 mph. Vehicle had 20,596 miles on it. Location southern california where the car is not exposed to cold weather.similar to 15v250000.

I was driving in an alley way and something sounded like it broke and or came loose from the passenger side front suspension area. Which looks like it was a half shaft or steering component which in turn caused me to loose steering control and hit a curb and do further damage to my vehicle . Seeing if there have been any issues or reports with half shafts or steering components breaking or coming loose on suspension on 2014 ford edge's

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving 25 mph, the steering wheel seized and was difficult to steer left or right. Angela krause ford lincoln in alpharetta, georgia was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the steering was likely to fail while driving 25 mph or less. Originally, the shaft and the pump assembly were replaced in the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure could not be duplicated and that the vehicle was performing normally. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to friendly ford of las vegas (660 n. Decatur blvd, las vegas, nv 89107), but was not diagnosed. Previously, the vehicle experienced a power steering fluid leak and, when turning the steering wheel in either direction, a whining noise was present. The power steering pressure hose was replaced, but the whining noise continued. Also, while operating the vehicle, a fuel odor was present inside the cabin. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 23,333.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While operating the vehicle, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (friendly ford located in las vegas, nv), but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The contact retrieved the vehicle and the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and no assistance was offered. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 6,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle veered to the right without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times where the wheels were aligned and the tires were replaced, but the failure persisted. The dealer informed that the steering was functioning as normal due to the torque steering characteristics of the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.

While driving on highway, panoramic glass roof exploded into pieces. Roof was not open or been used i. More than 2 years. Screen was luckily closed or i would have been covered in glass. Loud bang and rush of air causing me to jerk steering wheel and enter next lane of traffic

Was driving on a sunny day on the highway w/ an outside temperature of 53 degrees. Heard a very load noise and thought i may have blown a tire. Pulled over and checked the tires and noticed there was shattered glass all over the top of my car. Turns out that my panoramic sunroof literally exploded!! no trucks were in front of me nor any viaducts that i went under. $900.00 in damage!! seen many forums with the same issue as well as consumer report complaints about this. Also a few class action suits. Not sure why this happened and who's responsible, but thank god that i had my retractable sun visor closed at the time otherwise i'm confident that all that glass would have hit me with serious injuries.the noise was deafening when it exploded. Wish someone would fess up to this defect before someone gets seriously injured!!

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 55 mph, a loud popping noise occurred. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the sun roof glass had shattered. The sun roof was closed at the time of the failure. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer (billingsley ford, 2502 nw quanah parker trailway, lawton, ok) were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. *dtupdated 11/29/18

Complaint on my 2014 ford edge: when ignition on and the front driver's door is closed, the dashboard light indicates door ajar & bell keeps ringing but door is not ajar! it is closed properly! while car is parked the parking lights blink on and off by themselves also. Weikert ford in lake wales fl has replaced the door latch to correct the problem. My cost is $371.88. I believe the ford automobile company should do a recall and reimburse me my cost. I've done research about other 2014 ford edge's with this same problem. Will email ford and see if they will reimburse me my cost! my car mileage 49,996.3. Hope ford will reimburse my cost! i have my itemize cost receipt by doesn't up to this form.

Driver door ajar light remains on when door is completely closed and interior lights remain on. Safety hazard when driving at night also a drain on the battery. Vehicle was stationary when problem occurred but could not resolve and had to drive with interior lights on at night.

Door ajar light on but door is shut.

The door ajar indicator will not turn off. It is frustrating because my children ride in the cr and i am constantly checking to ensure it is actually closed.my auto door locks do not automatically engage. The lights stay on much longer than necessary.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. When the vehicle was started, the door ajar warning light and dome light remained illuminated. On several occasions, the battery was drained and the vehicle was unable to be started. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the door sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred for the rear passenger door. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving 55 mph, the driver side door opened independently without warning. The contact stated that the door ajar light illuminated intermittently on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The cause of the failure had yet to be determined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Door ajar light strays on although door is completely closer, not allowing for door to lock and causing a distracting dinging sound with trying to drive, this also causes the other doors not to lock, as well as kills the battery leaving people stranded.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving at various speeds, the door ajar and interior lighting illuminated constantly. In addition, the doors would not lock. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the door ajar sensor needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired three times, but the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the battery had to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,153.

The a/c system does not respond to temperature control.it stays ice cold.the suspension squawks and clanks when brakes are applied and the steering wheel turns.

Driver door ajar warning won't go out.doors won't lock.battery drains.transmission not in park warning.these warnings come on while parked and while the vehicle is moving.

While driving on busy road the vehicle went on limp mode, almost had rear end collision.!this is the second time this has happened.

Vehicle was being driven and without any warning went into a 'limp home mode', which is a total loss of acceleration, that is only enough power to give the driver speed between 35-40 mph.if on a freeway in the fast lane this would place a driver in a unsafe situation.ford motor co . States there is no recall, but back in 2015 there was a customer satisfaction program where they corrected this problem at no charge to the customer.

Car hesitates 4 or 5 seconds when going from reverse to drivewhen increasing speed on highway to change lanes or after coasting then try to accelerate ford says tough live with it tried several times to have it repaired they say cant be done

Smell exhaust gas inside the car while driving on highway

When i close my driver door, it tells me that my door is ajar. I know my door is closed so i put my car in drive and it tells me that my transmission is not in park. I know that there was an issue with the 2013 ford edge door latch on the driver door. I do not believe that ford has corrected the problem. I have to close my door 3 to 4 times every time i get in my car just to make the indicator stop dinging.

The driver door ajar light will not turn off when door is closed.this also causes the dome lights to stay on and trigger the alarm system occasionally.this is the second time it is happening, the first being 1.5 years ago where ford did clean the sensors and fixed the problem until now.last month the problem started reocurring.

My horn does not work neither on the collium or when i lock the doors with remote to alert me that it is locked.

On july 31, 2017 in my 2014 ford edge i slowed down to turn right into a parking space at an elementary school, and all of a sudden thecar took flight over the curb and sped into the woods. Scared and shaken i was trapped in the car with trees blocking the front doors.i was able to get out of the car by climbing into the backseat where i was able to open the door. The car was not drivable and had to be towed.this acceleration is very scary and i will not feel comfortable driving this car again!what if children would have been in the way?

While driving the vehicle on the highway between 65 and 75 mph, strong exhaust smell in the cabin, through ac vents. This happens also upon acceleration. This happens on long road trips. This carbon monoxide inside the vehicle. Have taken vehicle to the dealership three times and they are not able to fix the problem. The first time was shortly after purchase of the vehicle. It has happened a total nine times so far. First time we went to dealership, they stated the had just got a technical service bulletin about this issue. No notification to consumers. As everyone knows, no notification to consumers if not a recall. Ford knows about this problem and we feel that they are ignoring the obvious. It's pass due for an investigation. We have started the necessary protocol for a repurchase. We do not want to drive a vehicle that is toxic to our health.

Edge's "door ajar" warning light remains on, even when the doors are closed and latched.while it's certainly annoying to be confronted with a stubborn warning on an instrument cluster, nhtsa also points out that, as long as the light is illuminated, there's no way for drivers to know for sure that the vehicle's doors are properly closed.as a result, owners may spend a great deal of time checking and re-checking to ensure that the edge's doors are really, truly latched. Over time, owners may become so accustomed to seeing the warning light crying wolf that they begin to ignore it--which could, of course, cause problems if a door truly isn't closed.https://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1106519_2011-2013-ford-edge-investigated-for-persistent-door-ajar-warning

Issue started late last year, door ajar warning light/audio warning comes on even though the door is completely closed. Doesn't allow the door to lock while driving and the audio warner consistently comes on during the drive. The warning comes on immediately once the car is started and the warning continues when the car comes to a stop and when it begins to accelerate. We've taken the car while it was under warrantly to have the problem addressed. The dealer looked at it and communicated that they've had this issue before. The problem was resolved but now it's back again after maybe 4 months.

Driver "door ajar" light remains on.doors will not lock while car is in drive.warning lights such as "engine on" and "transmission not in park" are also posted. Warning lights reappear when vehicle comes to a stop.silence warnings by pushing the ok button on the left of the steering wheel. Dome lights remain on when car is parked.problem seems to be intermittent.seems to be related to the locking mechanism or switch on the door.

When you accelerate to pass or enter a freeway you get strong exhaust fumes inside the car.so strong you have to put the windows down to clear them out. Have had this vehicle back to dealership 4 times for this problem. They have done what ford said do and that did not solve the problem. Ford said " well don't accelerate hard." tell me how you can get on a busy freeway in houston, texas without accelerating hard. This has convinced me that ford does not care about consumers,so i will never purchase another ford.

We are experiencing high levels of exhaust gases inside the passenger cabin of a 2014 ford edge.the exhaust fumes are noticeable when idling for extended periods and are most pronounced when accelerating at highway speed.exhaust gases can reach high levels so uncomfortable that windows must be rolled down to flush the passenger cabin.this condition has been reported to a ford service department which indicated that a method of repair exists but no manufacturer recall has been issued to date.the condition is similar to that in the ford explorer that resulted in repairs to law enforcement vehicles.

Rear hatch window burst.

Exhaust odors enter vehicle cabin after heavier acceleration.it is more prevalent when air conditioning it turned on.this odor can vary in intensity from mild to so overwhelming that you cough, gag, eyes water and sinuses will drain.it irritates my throat.i drive this vehicle a lot each day and while at first i thought the smell was entering the vehicle from other vehicles exhaust in front of me, i have finally realized it is coming from the vehicle i am driving.smell intensity seems related to how hard the acceleration was.for example, when entering a highway on an acceleration ramp during heavy traffic, the situation could require heavy acceleration to get up to speed.the car gets a very heavy odor of exhaust inside the cabin in this situation with air conditioning on.when this intensity happens you must roll down the windows to clear the smell from the interior.the smell is less intense during easier accelerations.i notice myself feeling drowsy sometimes during the summer months, with air conditioning on, after i have been driving the car for maybe an hour or so.rolling the windows down seems to make the sensation go away as does getting out of the vehicle.i am concerned carbon monoxide is present with the odor that enters the vehicle interior.i do not notice the smell much during the cooler months when air conditioning is not used.the intensity of the odor, under heavier acceleration, is virtually breathtaking.it is very difficult to breath inside the interior during this kind of intensity.we purchased this used vehicle used in early 2016 with 10,000 miles on it and drive it daily.it has over 30,000 miles now.i have read and researched many comments and complaints about this vehicle and ford explorers with the same described issue.i have not been able to research a fix.

Throttle body!!!i was driving down a very busy back road with a number of sharp turns throughout when a yellow wrench appeared on my dashboard and the car went into a full and immediate "limp mode." my car initiated limp mode on a very sharp turn with an inclining hill and i had nowhere to pull off to address the problem. I was finally able to restart my car and drove approximately 10 miles to work and my car would again go into "limp mode" 4 additional times throughout the duration of this trip. I'm lucky i wasn't killed. Please recall before someone gets seriously hurt or killed!

1.press or loosing off brakes pedal gives a knocking noise. 2. Rear view camera flickers & shut off with a warning message. 3. Rearview side mirrors do not work. 4. Lighter plug located by middle compact towards back row does not work.

My car has been at ford service for the past 7 days waiting for parts.this is the second time it's been in for service in the past month.i initially reported exhaust smell in the cabin coming from the air vents. There was a problem with the shifter which they replaced but they told me they couldn't detect the smell or a cause for any smell.i took the car back last week when the exhaust/rotten egg odor continued and the car was making a low drone noise and faltering on acceleration.i was just told this monday (two days ago) that the exhaust smell is part of the problem being reported on the news.i was not aware of what was on the news at all.my car is a 2014 edge.

The rear backup camera failed after 5 years.it would not present a proper image on the screen in the dashboard, rather it showed an image that was upside down or it was just blank.dealer said it was form normal wear and tear (?) and it was over $1k to repair.since it is relied upon when backing up the vehicle, it presented a significant safety issue to not have it operate properly.

While my wife was driving home from work, our 2014 ford edge completely shut down. She had no control of anything. Luckily she was able to coast onto the side of the road without being hit from the rear. In the dash, the "wrench" icon displayed with a message alerting her to see manual. It has been 3yrs to the date since we've purchased the car and nothing like this has ever happened. This seems to be an issue that was happening to other ford edge's in 2013. As ford is about safety, i'm personally outraged that this issue is still happening with no resolve. What if she had gotten hurt; what if she had hurt someone else due to this issue.

The driver said door won't register as closed so the door ajar light stays on. This then won't allow the doors to lock and keeps the dome light on. How do you know if the door is really shut or not ? it makes the car almost useless since it thinks the door is not shut and how do you know if it is or not.

While driving the wrench light will come on, vehicle will lose all power and vehicle becomes difficult to steer and brake. Once the vehicle stops vehicle needs to shut down, wait several minutes and then restarted. Once vehicle is on again the light goes out

"door ajar" alert stays on even though the door is fully shut. The alarm will keep going off while driving. It therefore leaves the interior dome lights on which can lead to the battery draining over night. Unable to lock the doors when the vehicle is in motion.safety issue if you have kids or for a woman driving alone. The key fob won't be able to lock the doors when you leave the car parked.

Panoramic moonroof just shattered sitting still.nothing hit it and car was not moving.was on a residential street and owner was standing right by the vehicle.

Put the car in park mode, turned off key, removed key, was exiting the vehicle and it started indicating the car was not in park.this has happened twice and both times the vehicle started moving as it was in neutral even though the key was removed and it showed in park

I parked my car on my driveway and took the key out of the ignition. I step out of the car and was playing with my daughter by the side of the car. My car started rolling down the driveway. I opened the door and saw the car came out of gear. I reached in and shifted back to park. Car continued to roll down driveway. I tried stopping it by trying to jump in but car continue to roll almost pinning me. I jumped out and car hit my neighbors car. The whole time this was happening i had the key in my hand. Reported it ford and bought it to the dealer to be inspected. They couldn't find a problem. Ford mc nor the ford dealer want to take responsibility. Nor can they find a problem with my car.

Right front axle failurewarning of transmission not in park

My sun roof exploded for no reason while i was driving the car on the highway.

My wife and i stopped for lunch, and parked on a city street.(85 i remember looking at my phone when i stopped and shut off the car using the push button on the dash.we walked to the food stand and someone tapped me on the shoulder to inform me that my car rolled down the street.i attached a picture below.i crawled to the driver side through the passenger door.the car came to a stop by hitting a small tree, and just missed a large tree.i was also informed that the car rolled slow enough the cars and people were able to avoid contact.there was a crowd, but thankfully no one called the police.the car only had a small scratch on the bumper.i also remember a bing..bing..bing noise when we exited the vehicle prior to it rolling away.it made the same noise then i leave my headlights on, but they auto shut-off in the past.you may have figured out that i forgot to put the car in park.yes i made an error, but ford could have the car make a loud noise if the driver door is opened before or after the engine is shut off and the car is not in park.i am a 29 year emt, and i can assure you that safety is always on my mind, but just not on this day.i am 63 years old, and all my previous cars were unable to remove the keys if the car was not in park.so it's all about the push button start/stop button.thanks for reading, and maybe you can suggest a fix to ford.

Advancetraclight continues to stay on

2 issues:1. Door latch sending signal that the car door is not closed. Takes multiple times of closing the door for the door ajar message to go away. Many ford edge owners modifying their vehicles in unsafe to get around this problem. Ford wants $600+ to fix.2. The vista moon roof. The roof does not open and close properly. Many ford edge owners with this issue. Ford wants $3000 to fix this. People who have had it fixed had the problem return after a year. Please help

I was driving down i-25 with my spouse doing apprx. 75mph when my sunroof exploded.we are fortunate no one was injured.glass did fall on my head as i was taking it to the dealership.ford refuses to cover it under warranty even though the dealership states it exploded from the inside.ford does not know what caused the problem but just states it is not covered under warranty.if the covering was opened someone would have been seriously injured.this is a huge safety concern and has happened to several vehicles but ford refuses to do a recall.it is going to take someone getting seriously injured before ford recognizes the problem as a manufacturer defect.

After closing the passenger's side front door, the rear window exploded/shattered.

Panoramic sunroof shattered while driving on a clear day on an open road.

Carbon monoxide coming throughheater system into the cab of the vehicle

I have a faulty door latch issue. When i turn my car on and start driving, the driver door ajar light won't go off and i can open my doors while driving.when i shut the car off, the lights won't go off inside the car and the car continues to ding like the door is open. This will cause my battery to go dead.

When putting vehicle in park it won't go in most of the time we have to restart vehicle and take it from park to another gear sometimes 5-6 times before park will engage and sometimes we can just press and release button on shifter to get it to engage park. We have even had a problem with trying to use remote start after it's in park and it won't start due to it saying that transmissions not in park but it was when we exited the vehicle.

Driver side door latch/sensor malfunction.due to manufacture date of october 2014 my vehicle is not eligible under current recall for the latch (19n09) however my vehicle is currently at the dealership having the part replaced with out of pocket expense.

Door ajar light stays on even when door closed causing bell to chime car is not in park. Took to dealership - they changed the latch. I rolled my window down on the way home and window would not roll back up. They said the cable just happened to break. Had to pay for that as well.

The vehicle instrument cluster displays a "driver door ajar" warning...despite the door being fully closed.the dome lights stay on, and an "engine on" alert appears, as well.to clear it, the driver's door must be closed several times.it is occurring more and more often.the vehicle is stationary during this problem.it seems this is a rampant problem from what my research indicates...and should seemingly dictate a factory recall.

When i put the vehicle in park it displays the "transmission not in park" light. When this displays you cannot lock doors properly. The only way to adjust this is to either tap the gear shift button for standard drive or restart and kill the car. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not able to restart and was towed to darcars ford (9020 lanham severn rd, lanham, md 20706, (301) 459-1100). The dealer diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced and the battery needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,580.

I leased a 2014 ford edge from antelope valley ford. After taking possession, the vehicle had turbo lag problems.i reported this to antelope valley ford and they took the car in for repair.i was told there was no problem.the problem continues to this day. This problem occurs when vehicle is in motion.

1st occurrence was when i was driving on the interstate and the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and went into limp mode (a wrench was displayed on the dashboard). I was not able to accelerate at all and had to pull off the interstate. Turned off the vehicle and turned it back on and the wrench and check engine light was off. This now occurs every day and is a safety issue, it happened when i was making a turn at a busy intersection and almost ended up in another driver hitting me as i had no power to accelerate out of the way. In researching the issue i believe it is due to a faulty throttle body control but am unable to diagnose it since the check engine light and thus error code goes away with every restart...at the very least it should tell me what the last error code was.

Car was in garage with garage door open.outside temperature was 29 degrees and garage temperature was 54 degrees.passenger door was closed normally and rear window shattered.

When outdoor temperature drops below freezing as you drive the vehicle the interior windows and windshield will fog up to the point of not being able to see out of them.defrost mode does not completely clear windshield.only gives about a quarter of the windshield at bottom to half clearance at best.this has happened four times now and i had no problems until after my dealer did a recall for heater unit efficiency.i have had it to them three times in the last three weeks and they continue to tell me that everything is functioning properly.their suggestions have been review my manual on proper heater functions, roll down the windows, do not park the car in my garage, carry a towel with me in the car to wipe off windshield and turn on the air conditioning.this is a major safety concern as my view is extremely obstructed and i would appreciate some assistance as ford is telling me that it is a minor problem.i don't see it as minor but major as clear visibility is a necessity when driving.

Saturday morning was cool and car in garage.pulled car out of garage and noticed a "line" slowly coming up from the seal at the drivers side windshield.sat in driveway and watched this "line" go from bottom of the windshield up and to the passenger side.nothing hit my car and this "line" came up from beneath the rubber seal on the windshield.called the salesman the followiing monday and was told not covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.my edge is only 2 months old!!!salesman said he would call me back - never did.i have always bought ford vehicles brand new.my last brand new vehicle, 03 explorer had a small rock hit it when it was 2 weeks old, shattered the windshield.no more ford for me!

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. The contact stated that there was excessive fog on all of the windows and the windshield during inclement weather, causing an obstruction to the contact's visibility. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer more than five times and they were not able to diagnose the failure. The contact continued to experience the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000. Updated 3/13/15

The contact owns a 2014 ford edge. While attempting to drive the vehicle, the driver noticed that a lot of water leaked through the sun roof. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and in the process of being repaired. In addition, the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the sun roof assembly track was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

Five days after taking delivery of my 2014 ford edge i got into the vehicle and noticed a hairline crack in the windshield starting roughly in the center from the base of the windshield going upward in a sinuous direction. The car had 295 miles on it at the time. No stones or rocks hit the windshield. I immediately called my sales person to report the crack as i felt it was a manufacture defect rather than driver negligence fixed by an insurance claim. Sales person talked to a manager who said if i hadn't purchased the incidental insurance "complete titanium plus", then it would have to be reported to my insurance.the next day i went into the dealership with my brother, talked to the salesman who said this isn't covered under the 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty (which it isn't).however, in ford's owner manual there is a 12,000 mile 12 month warranty against manufacture defects. Sales person brought out the used car sales manager who tried to tell us this was not my fault, not his fault and this is why a person carries insurance. We told him this is unacceptable on a brand new car which i had less than a week with only 295 miles on it. We told him this is a manufacturers defect and he needs to work with ford to fix it. He tried to play it off as he thought i bought a used car (appeared to be a gimmick) and told sales person to be more clear on new vs. Used (again, appeared to be a gimmick). His tune changed and the service department looked at the crack and snapped photos of windshield to submit to ford. Turns out, ford is going to fix the windshield with no cost to me. The dealer is also giving me a loaner car while the work is being done.

Went to dealer for oil change / tire rotation - also to check loss of air in right rear tire - serviceman pulled a nail and fixed tire - but said there was a crack on the wheel ( 22 inch powdered aluminum) and should b replaced - cr used for very light driving only has 23,000 miles since 2014.

I had been driving (traveling nurse) back and forth 3 x weekly to a nursing job.the low tire light.i aired the tire for several days until i could carry it to a tire shop. I was told it was the rim.the rim was repaired.six months later the low tire light comes on again.i carry it to the ford dealership and the rim is cracked again.once again it is sent off for repair.february the low tire light comes on again with the air losing 3 - 15 pounds of air a day (i'm a traveling nurse) and my car goes back to the dealership and the guy tells me it is a fracture in the very same rim.he tells me that the only way it is fractured is if i hit something but i haven't hit something.he tells me that the back tire is prone to being fractured and i tell him i only had the tires rotated 4 days earlier.he tells me it will cost me $1400.00 plus a new tire and i tell him i don't have that.i've seen them on amazon for $400.he tells me he will have to charge me for a new tire.i tell him my tires have road hazard somewhere else.all 4 rims have been on my car since the day i bought it.this rim has now been fractured twice and ford will not honor it's own warranty.they have no problem with a nearly 60 year old nurse driving 100 miles to care for someone dying walking out to a flat tire every single day.

Turning right out of parking lot touched curbplastic wheel covering just rippled like a coke can crushed. Had to replace whole wheel. Should either be able to replace plastic partby itself or do not use plastic covering. Ridiculous for what we paid for the car. Cost $1,100 to fit a piece of plastic on a new car. Had to buy new wheel.

I was driving on barnsville road in dickerson maryland. I felt that my car dropped down and heard a scrapping sound and the car veered to the right on to a field. I got out and found the aluminum wheel on the grass with the tire off the wheel . When the tow truck came i saw that the core of the wheel had totally sheared off from the exterior of the wheel. The tire had no sign of puncture. I did not hit any objects or pothole. There was no warning before the event. The ford dealer blamed the aluminum wheel failure on a dent in the wheel, which does not explain the symmetrical total separation of the core of the wheel from the exterior as if some one had taken a saw and separated the wheel. It was that clean of a cut. I have the wheel and the tire for further investigation.
