I believe ineffective repairs are being done and only the symptoms are being treated.i have two failed oil pumps, three failed water pumps, a failed alternator...and three attempts to fix various oil leaks....all within the last year.the exhaust bolts that were put on in may, 2003 weren't even on in august, a cover that goes under the radiator flew off on the highway...i am now wondering what else...in addition...there needs to be a cause to the constantly failing water pumps.the battery, alternator, ac, etc. Failures are minor in comparison.

The russell family trust----i had a recall on my 1999 econolinemotorhome.i took it this morning to the forddealer in purvis ms to get it checked.he said it did not have the master cylinder on it that they usually checked, and had me sign a work order. I want to know what to do now.

Fuses keeps blowing out, causes problem with brakes, turn signals & shifting capabilities. Owner feels electrical problem. Dealership working on vehicle but cause not found as of yet.

I was driving from new york to philadelphia when i almost got home the car caught on fire on the back of the car where the wheel are, on my passenger side.

While braking at low speed vehicle stalled.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

My ford e3501999 made a loud flapping noise as i was leaving my home.i pulled right back into the driveway and shut off the engine. I found out that the #2 spark plug had completely blown out of the cylinder head.this has never happened on any vehicle i have ever owned. I take good care of my vehicles.i am a mechanic, and former jet engine mechanic also. My obdii confirmed a misfire on cylinder #2 that is how i located which plug it was.ford said it would cost $260 to look at it, and up to $1700 if they could repair it. Plus towing.i asked how much a new engine would cost since the van is in excellent condition.ford said it would cost $7,200 for a new engine.this van has cost more for repairs than any vehicle i have owned in my life.i am 62.air conditioning compressor $700.00coil on spark plug $130abs brake sensor $138.00flex plate and flywheel $700.(caused by loose ignition switch)egr black box $400 replacement.ford wanted $100.00 to change my fuel filter.i went to the store and bought the special wrench for $16 ,did it myself in 15 minutes.recall for wiring near the master cylinder that could catch fire, 1/2 days wages lost.it took me 4 hours to change spark plugs. It was the worst design i have ever seen. A nightmare to get to the spark plugs.i sold the van for $500 tonight. Glad the nightmare is over.

Have a ford 1999 econoline van with a triton engine, have so far blown x3 sparkplugs, all fixed.

The spark plug ejected for the second time in two weeks and this time had a small fire that was put out right away that could have been real trouble as we had 9 people in the motorhome at the time.

1999 ford econoline 250 spark plug blew out. Consumer states that this is not a normal wear item. He has had all work done by ford. Ford will not cover the repair cost. He states that if something is wrong it is ford's fault.

Well it goes like this, new plugs and coil packs where installed at dean arbour ford in pinconning michigan in my 1999 e350 econoline van. So the issue at hand from what i have read about was improper installation of said plug or plugs from what i have read in answers.com from what ford motor company has said that it is improper installation or over tightening, not torqued properly. Well if this was the issue at hand then they are not properly training their tech's, which i do not see that being the issue at hand. It is as i see, poorly designed as to the same issue happening to so many others. Which i see they should be held accountable for the design flaw. My experience with my problem at hand was not under heavy load, i was at a stop sign and went to proceed. What happened after that was stepping on the gas slowly to move forward and bang, and i mean (bang). It keep popping until i shut it down igniting as that cylinder in rotation came to that firing order for that cylinder. Everything that i have read indicates that the cylinder on the passenger side of a 5.4 triton head 2nd one from the back forward is the one that is famous for ejecting from the head. Right above the plug is the coil pack and above that is the fuel rail which intern when the plug ejected itself could have been very hazardous. The popping was the plug sparking, which was igniting the fuel pumped into the cylinder by the injector. This could have been a very explosive situation meaning (fire). With the luck of the draw i was not like some of the unlucky ones that have caused a fire from the ejection of the spark plug. With the complaints that have arised from this issue the ford motor company should be held accountable for this known problem, before someone looses their life from this known issue. You would think that ford would want to address this known issue for liability reasons, before the unknown happens. Loss oflife, you can't replace it, but you can replace or address the issue.

Ford triton 5.4l blew out #2 spark plug. Requiringcyl. Head to be replaced at a cost of $2680.61.

Rizzo ford refused to repair it and threw me out since i reported them to ford 3 times for insubordination and the service manager calling me a [xxx]. This is also a conversion van that i purchased at rizzo, and i still cannot find anyone to work on it. It finally got "repaired" by colony ford truck center, but with major difficulty with employees. They also took me off the road for 6 days. Needless to say, it still whines and makes noise, but started again after it was out of warranty, and this is a paratransit vehicle which cannot lose time. Brake pads "burned" and rotors warped on a 1999 ford econoline.vehicle has 14930 miles on it of which over 12000 miles has been freeway long distance with minimal brake useage.the vehicle which is rated for 8 passengers with luggage, and for heavy duty trailer towing has never been driven with any heavy loads.all long distance driving with 1 or 2 passengers and light luggage only.nonetheless ford customer service and the ford dealer insist this is normal and does not represent a safety hazard and that ford has no responsibility in this regard.i believe that ford has the responsibility to at replace the shoddy parts that they used initially, to forewarn customers that they will very likely require costly brake work at very short intervals, and that even careful drivers can not make it to the first scheduled maintenance without seriouslydamaging the original equipment brakes.i shudder to think of the danger to occupants of fully loaded econolines used on a daily heavy duty basis. The brakes under those circumstances would seem unlikely to last more than a few thousand miles.

From a speed of 45 mph these units with rear disc brakes require an additional 14 feet to stop when tested against an older unit that is identical in every way except it has drum brakes on the rear. We also see this same problem on the 2000 models.

Several times we have complained to the dealer that it was difficult to get into the passenger seat as there is nothing to grab onto when climbing in.we purchased 2 vehicles at the same time.the other vehicle is a taurus which has handles everywhere to assist climbing into the car.finally we are putting on running boards at our expense.the dealer referred us to vantastiks which is a company that could alter our vehicle.at vantastiks we were told about the motorists mobility assistance program that ford has.we were never told about this program initially.today i was told that the is not the first thing they think of.i would think that the safety of their passengers should be primary and anything that can insure this is most important.the handles are on the pillars in an f150.these should also be on the e150.we recently returned from california where we had a chevrolet astro mini van.the step on that vehicle was much lower and there was a handle to assist climbing into the vehicle.the steps on the ford e 150 are much higher and there is nothing to grab to hold while climbing into the vehicle.

Whenevervehicle is driven it appeared that something underneath was about to break apart.vehicle in dealer shop, and dealer is unable to locate the problem. Please provide further details.

The radius rod to the right wheel fell off, separated, whatever, which allowed the right front wheel to go its own way.the ability to steer the vehicle was totally lost.we were fortunate in that it did not separate while driving on the freeway shortly before.this vs a conversion van, sold by ford, to be converted for handicapped accessibility.however, the problem could apply to all manufacturers vehicles that use the similar steering.which is just about every vehicle on the road.

Two of the vehicle's firestone steeltex tires blewout.consumer had two blowouts the same day.vehicle was damaged as a result of the blowout.*tc

Noticed 2 seperate cracks or splits on the front left tire of my vehicle. The cracks are on the sidewall of the tire about 1/2 inch each.they are seperate and about a 1 inch space betwween them. But a very fine line or crack can be seen conecting the two from one end to the other.i've taken the vehicle to the firestone dealer at bustleton and street rd. In feasterville,pa 19053 iwas told my tires were not on the recall list, i mentioned that these tires were on the news for blow outs and tire seperation.the dealer then said if the cracks get worse to bring them back and he would reinpspect them but for now it looked minor.also i pointed out that very small cracks surrounding the diameter of the tires below the tread on the side wall could be seen on all the tires. The dealer said it looked like dry-rot, i then commented that the tires were new with vehicle and purchased 11-98 and only had 11,700 miles on them. The dealer said to just keep an eye on them and if it worsens to come back.after that i took the vehicle to john kennedy ford where the vehicle was purchased from and told them about the tires. I was told they were not on the recall list and there was nothing they could do and they reccommened to take them to the tire manufacter for inspection. The tire appeared to hold air pressure.upon arriving home we took pictures of the tire and returned it to our firestone dealer who pro-rated it.yesterday (6/17/01 we experienced the same problem with the right side inside duel.this time the tire would not hold any air pressure.our mileage on this tire was 19,126.we find it odd that we have not experienced this kind of problem with other rigs we have owned.we are very concerned about the other 4 tires since we are planning an extended long distance vacation in july.we have not been able to find these tires on any recall list.
