At 68,450 miles, several issues occurred:1) oil pressure switch blew out of the housing, 2) oil was visible in coolant, 3) oil was leaking from engine, 4) idle vacillated up and down w/o any action on part of the user. Took van to dealer, who claimed to have repaired these items.inspection of the "repaired vehicle" revealed oil still dripping off engine onto ground.was told that this was "normal" and would disappear. However, this did not happen.engine has continued to leak and oil continues to mix with coolant fluid, even after flushing system twice since repair.despite numerous calls to dealer, problem has not been fixed.engine has less than 13k additional miles on it since "repair" and oil is still leaking.leak continues to get worse with time.i believe this is a manufacturer's defect and since the engine has far less than 100k miles on it, should be repaired as a warranty item. Mixing of oil and coolant is a safety hazard and needs to be programmatically addressed by ford.

I have a ford e-350 super duty van that has had drivable problems since it was new. After many trips to dealerships i was told that there was no fix at this time and ford should come out with a fix in the future. The engine dies when hot at times causing hard braking and loss of steering. At 100699 miles, just 699 miles out of warranty the engine quite running when hot. If it sits for 6 or more hours it will restart and run for only 20 minutes. Ford told me it was no longer under warranty and would provide no assistance.

Adiagnosticstest was performed on the vehicle about fifteen times.the contact has talked to fordnumerous times.he invested$96,000 in the vehicle and would like to be able to drive it. This i happened at all times of the day. The contact was living out of the vehicle and was having thousands of dollars in towing expenses. Also, therewere rental car and medical expenses as a result of the failure.

Vehicle was purchased on or around september 2003. On may of 2005we began to have multiple problems concerning this vehicle. The most significant of these problemsis air conditioning compressors locking up and breaking the drive belt.this vehicle is an ambulance so a failure could contribute to the death of a patient. We have tried various repairs to this vehicle as it has fallen out of warranty at this time. First we replaced the compressor, accumulator and orifice tube and the belts then flushed the system.the 2nd occurrence we replaced the compressor, accumulator and orifice tube then flushed the system, the 3rd occurrence we replaced the compressor, condenser, accumulator and orifice tube then flushed the system. At this time we tried placing external fans to help lower the head pressures then replaced the fan clutch with a snow plow fan clutch as directed by our ford dealer. The 4th incident we replaced the compressor then extended the evacuation period for fear of a possible oil overcharge. The 5th occurance on 10/25/2006 we replaced the compressor, condenser, accumulator and orifice tube then flushed the system. We are now in the process of trying a better grade refrigeration oil in place of the usual pag oil. We have been trying everything we can think of to combat this problem with no success.

Van stopped running in freeway 2004 ford e-350 diesel problem with tank delamanation 4 vans same thing all came to a stop in the roadway.

I am the original owner of a 2004 ford e 350 diesel,it has been in the shop many of times for the same problem truck stops running in middle of intersections, highways etc does not start and needs to be towed.ford dealership has no idea what is wrong with truck, i get truck back same thing happens. Repeatedly. Now that the truck is out of warranty same thing happens result: delaminating fuel tank, little slivers of paint clogging fuel lines, pumps and injectors.

I own 4 diesel powered ford e350 vans. In 2008 i have had a fuel tank replaced in a 2000 and 2004 van. I decided to have my 2007 checked and found that the fuel filters were clogged. I have spent over $7000.00 so far. Although ford did not replace the tank in my 2007 i am starting to wonder when i will have to have this done. I have one other 2000 that just started having problems. I don't need to spend another $7000.00. I asked for about delamination but they said its the fuel i'm using. I saw the fuel filters that came out of the vehicles and it was a gray/ silver material.

The contact owns a 2004 ford e-350. The contact stated that the vehicle would lose power when accelerating and then stall. The contact would have to wait thirty minutes before the vehicle was able to be restarted. The contact stated the failure would occur without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but there was no solution to the problem. The contact did research and feels the problem is caused by the fuel tank delaminating. The failure mileage was 50,800 and the current mileage was 120,000.

Fuel tank delamination in my 2004 ford e-350 has cause a need for an expensive total fuel system replacement. Obviously it is a huge problem as there are many complaints online of the exact same problem all over the country. Ford says its the bio diesel that is causing the problem, but its funny how dodge and chevy aren't having any problems...

Vehicle lost power 4 different times. Fuel pump excess noise, fuel pump clogged. Dealer contacted ford motor corp who blamed condition on diesel fuel.fuel pump was replaced as well as fuel filters and fuel tank.we are out $3000.00 for the repairs.

Fuel tank liner is separating causing corrosion and rust in the fuel tank.ford refuses to warranty the problem.they are blaming it on the diesel fuel, which is inaccurate.i have one confirmation from a customer that they finally covered his repair, however, he had to lodge complaints with both the nhtsa and the bbb. So i am officially lodging a complaint against ford motor company, steven's ford (the dealer), and the warranty company.the safety aspect of this is the truck stalls while driving and does not restart.the truck also experienced a loss of power when going uphill. Both of which can cause a dangerous situation when in heavy traffic.this is a chronic problem that ford is aware of and is denying responsibility.i personally know of at least 5 people who have had similar problems with their e350 vans due to corrosion in the fuel tank.this is not an isolated incident and should be covered under the warranty. (please note there is less than 36,000 miles on this, but ford is not taking responsibility, neither is the warranty company from which an extended warranty was purchased) . Ford is trying to blame the reason on use of more than 5% mixture of biodiesel and is saying that the reason they are not covering the problem is that there is rust in the fuel tank.the rust is a reaction from the fuel in a poorly designed fuel tank.if it were a diesel fuel problem this would occur in different makes of trucks, not just ford.there is a huge problem, that is not only a safety, but an environmental one as well.

From the very first day we owned our brand new ford e-350 diesel cube van we have had an ongoing drivabilty problem. The engine cuts out while driving almost coming to a stall and spits black or blue smoke out of the tail pipe. We have had the vehicle to the dealership five times to date to have this problem fixed. The dealership cannot find the problem. We have tried to take the truck to a different dealer, but they say they cannot fix it because another dealer has already worked on the truck and got paid, so we have to take it back to them. We use this truck for business and have had to rent a truck several times to take the truck in and find the next day that it is still not fixed. We are out $400.05 that we believe either the dealership or ford should reimburse us for. I called the ford customer service line and was basically told that rental reimbursements are not covered in the warranty. Should we be resposible for having to pay these fees? we bought a brand new truck so we would not have this problem.it is also not our fault the dealership cannot find the problem. We have been more than patient and feel we should get our truck fixed properly and be reimbursed for our losses. We see there has been a recall on our vehicle and still have not been notified. Which only means once again we have to pay to rent a truck while ours goes in for repairs, with no guarentee that it will get fixed that time either.

The contact owns a 2004 ford e350 econoline with 79800 miles. The contact notice that the warning light on his instrument panel came on stating that there was water in the fuel. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who stated that the lining in the fuel tank had delaminated. The contact was told that his fuel system needed to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2004 ford e350 sd. The fuel tank deteriorated and the particles that comes off of the tank clogged the fuel injectors. The failure prevented fuel from getting into the engine which made the vehicle drive 15 mph to include a rough start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they stated that it would cost of $4500 to seal the fuel tank. The repairs were not covered under warranty or recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 113,000.

Vehicle lost power 3 different times, once on interstate, twice in highway traffic, and in one case the engine died.turns out cause was failure of tank lining clogging up the fuel system.each of the 3 times i replace fuel filters before finally cleaning out the tank and determining actual problem.ford knows there is a problem with the tank lining, as shown on ford technical service bulletins 19728, but has done and will do nothing about the problem except tell me to replace my tank at almost $600 + labor.

Gas fill line closes and can only fill at a ridiculously slow rate or not at all with some of the faster gas pumps.

2004 ford f350this ford truck wanders, there is play in the steering wheel.truck does not go straight down the road.wanders back and forth, have to keep minding the wheel.cruise control decreases 10-12 mph for no reason. Both of these problems are serious safety defects.there is a driveline vibration that is continuing to get worse.ford is unwilling and unable to repair these problems.

- the contact stated that the passenger side seat belt latch on the 2004 ford e350 will not stay latched.the failure mileage was 60000. The seat belt latchwould pop out of the buckle without warning. The contact took the vehicle to the dealership, and they informed him he should replace the seat belt latch assembly. The vehicle currently had 82000 miles. Updated 03/30/07.

5-2-06. 2004 econoline rear seat belts and seat belt extenders are poorly designed.the receiving end of the seat belts are attached to the end of the strap, the other end is bolted to the floor.with use the receiving end tends to fall back through the hole and has to be reinserted often.the manufacturer provided seat belt extenders for the front two buckets seat, but not for the rear seats.

This unit is a small motorhome with six seat belts besides the pilot/copilot seats.the curb side belts are ok as they are sixteen inches longer than the street side.the street side are so short that a small child could hardly use them.the seat belts are used in conjunction with two couches in the living area.this was brought to the attention of the manufacturer but was just shrugged off as inconsequential. It is a safety issue and the manufacturer should be made to rectify it.there are numerous units beside the one i have and i suspect they are all similar where two couches are in the living area.*la

I was a passenger in a 15 passenger van coming to transport me from the airport. It was a white ford club wagon (year unknown). We were going at 70 miles per hour on cruise control. The rear tire blew out and we began to swerve and then started to do 360 degree turns and then hit a guardrail and flipped 1.5 times. One person was killed and several more were injured severely. The front passenger had to have the jaws of life to remove her from the vehicle.
