The contact owns a 2000 ford e-350.the contact received a recall notice in august of 2007 for the electrical system.the vehicle was taken to a local authorized dealer for repair in november of 2007, but the mechanic stated that there was no recall replacement part available.the contact was consistently calling the dealer to see if the part had arrived, but was informed again that the part had not been manufactured and to call back later. The contact has become very discouraged and does not know if the recall part will ever be manufactured by ford.he was under the assumption that all the vehicles included in the recall needed the part to warrant the repair service.there had been no failure to date. Updated 6/16/08

Electrical fire under the hood while parked in my driveway.

The spark plug no.7 blow out with the ignition coil.

The contact owns a 2000 ford e-350. The contact heard a loud, booming noise from the front of the vehicle. The contact discovered that a spark plug exploded and dislodged from the engine, which shattered the engine coil pack. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (tom holzer ford, 39300 w. 10 mile rd, farmington hills, mi) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 151,000.

2000 ford v8 triton engine spark plug popped out and engine misfirehad the coil replaced and had mechanic tap out the spark plug hole and re set the plug and then it happened again on saturday july 3rd 2010.

I have a 200 ford e-350. At 130,000 miles the spark plug blew out of number 8 cylinder. And broke the coil pack. Then blew out again at 155,000 mile and now has taken the threads with it. The engine must be pulled, in which will result in a huge bill for me.ford should be made to recall this problem they have with many of there engines.

E350 driving on hwy spark plug blew out.i own 3 fords, it has happened to two of them.this van @100,000 miles and my 2001 excursion @ 51000 miles traveling @ 25 mph.

Spark plug blowout.

2000-ford e-350spark plug blew right out of the aluminum head.

My fuel tank interior flaked so severely it caused the engine to buck violently and dramatically loose power. This was caused by the almost complete blockage of the fuel tank pickup screen/filter.since that time i have had to disassemble and thoroughly clean the fuel pickup of the flakes 4 times including today. Each time the pickup was packed with silver flakes from the deteriorating lining of the fuel tank.the problem occurred each time while trailering my rv down the interstate. It is extremely scary and the almost complete loss of power makes it very difficult to get to the next exit.the problem is so persistent that i have put a door in the floor of my van so that i no longer have to drop the tank for access. I purchased this ford e-350 diesel new in 2000.

The design of the trucks diesel fuel/water separator lever makes it difficult to know when the lever is in the shut off position.as a result diesel fuel spilled after attempting to shut it off.*nlmconsumer started engine and let idle for 2 minutes. Smelled fuel and cut it off. He then noticed a large puddle of fuel in the driveway. When he checked the lever he realized it wasn't closed all the way. *ph

Ford e350 7.3 liter diesel van - having intermittent problems with power and bogging down and at times dying.dropped the fuel tank and fond paint flakes from the tank delaminating.having to replace the tank and hoping there is no further damage already done.

I was driving a ford diesel van north on highway 31 towards pennington, nj, when the truck started acting up. Ultimately, it stalled - right there on the highway; 4 lanes, semi trucks coming around a bend @ 40 + mph, and no shoulder. I told my helper to leave the truck because i was sure we were going to get hit. No way a tractor trailer, at those speeds, could stop in time. Several semi's had to cut off cars in the left lane to avoid us. I thought for sure i was dead. After sweating it out, i finally got the truck started and got to a side street, at about 5 mph. That's when i called aaa & got the truck towed to my ford dealer, where they want $2500 to repair what they call " fuel tank delamination". I never heard of such a thing and neither did anyone i spoke with in the auto repair industry so i googled it: ford diesel fuel tank problems, and as it turns out, there are thousands of vehicles out there with the exact same problem. I"m surprised no one has died yet, but i guess that's what it will take, maybe when a couple of kids die, ford will do something about it, if it doesn't cost too much- of course. To alleviate this "problem," the ford dealer is, in effect, going to replace the entire fuel delivery system, at the consumers cost. New fuel tank, new fuel transfer pump, clean out the fuel lines, replace fuel filter, clean injectors, so, bend over.ps really hope nobody has to die - but that's your call.

2000 ford e-350 econoline diesel serial [xxx] was subject to recall due to leaking diesel fuel from 35 gal. Tank.ford claims recall was performed for previous owner.tank is leaking again.repair was not suffecient to elimiate failure. Mileage at second leakage 99,000 to present.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

While driving on the freeway my van lost almost all power, dropping from 65 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour.i had to immediately try and move over to the slow lane. I quickly lost all power and my stopped running.part of my left rear was slightly out in the traffic lane.i called a tow truck to have my van towed to the ford dealership that maintains my van.the dealer informed me my fuel tank had "delaminated", the inside coating had deteriorated and had clogged the entire fule system and that the tank, filters, pumps and all lines had to be replaced.i understand moving parts failing, but i have never heard of a fuel tank failing except through puncture or exterior deterioration through rusting.repairs will cost several thousands of dollars.the dealership mechanics say this has occured on a number of occasions with ford diesels, ranging in mileage from 30,000 to 200,000. The ford motor company knows of the problem but has said the cause is from using additives or from the fuel.i do not use additives and have used only proper fuel from reputable companies.i approached ford motor company for assistance in covering the cost of repairs but was told they are not responsible.this is a known problem caused by either a poorly engineered or incorrectly applied interior tank lining that fails with no warning and causes either total or near total loss of power.if this occurs on a crowded, fast moving freeway, the danger is obvious.i was lucky to have been driving at a time of day when there was little traffic. Ford motor company refuses to admit there is a dangerous situation with their diesel fuel tank lining material.i now am having a new tank being put into my van, but what is there to ensure me that the same situation will not happen again?it is not mileage dependent according to those who should know, the ford mechanics.such a situation is not only unsatisfactory, but extremely unsafe for both myself and others on the road.

7.3 liter diesel engine stalling. Fuel pump and fuel filter replaced;fuel tank removed and cleaned; silver paint flakes were found blocking the fuel pickup. Tank was re-installed and problem re-occurred within 100 miles. Van was taken to local ford dealership and tank was removed again. Silver paint flakes were found blocking the fuel pickup line again. The service technician determined that the fuel tank liner was de-laminating, and the fuel tank needed replacing. I have the defective tank in my possession. This was a dangerous defect that caused engine stalling in heavy traffic, endangering myself and other motorists behind and beside me. This was also an expensive and time consuming repair, resulting in loss of use and rental expenses.

Consumer's vehicleexperienced the same problem asstated in recall 01v110000.however,consumer contactedford, andwas told that this vehicle was not included in the recall.would have to get the vehicle repaired atconsumer's expense.

While inspecting the vehicle mechanic found that there were no grease fittings which could causefront end to detach.alsovehicle appeared to leak fuel only when full.there had not been a determination of the cause for this problem.

I have a 2000 ford e350 that started running rough and eventually lost power on the freeway when it was needed i did'nt know what happening to the vehicle it just started sputtering and spewing thick smoke out of the tail pipe. I limped the van to the dealetship and after all diagnosis and replacement of certain fuel parts was said and done it was a clogged fuel sending unit due to a rusty fuel tank caused by delamination of the lining inside the tank. These particals of delamination and the rust of the exposed metal of the tank caused the sending unit to be clogged to the point of replacement, the sending unit alone was over $600.00 of the $1600.00 bill, it was explained to me that the problem of the clogged fuel sending unit will happening again in about a year due to the tank failing. I am very concerned with losing power again and not being able to get off the road on a major freeway and spewing the big cloud smoke out the tail pipe when this happens again and possibly blinding the drivers behind me. I spoke with the dealer, i was advised that the tanks are made of plastic now to avoid/fix this problem. I spoke with ford motor corp., they stated that my vehicle was out of warrany and they would not cover this unvoidable problem.i have taken very good care of this vehicle, it is a service vehicle for my company and when it is down i do not make any money. I do everything i can to perform the prevenitive maintenance, there is nothing i could have done to avoid this safety issue, ford knows the problem/safety issue is there and did not want to help out at all. After all the research that i have done since paying the bill at the dealership i am very disappointed to hear what others are going through and the routes they are taking to try to get the problem resolved, this why i have wriiten you this letter.

The contact owns a 2000 ford e-350. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to decelerate. The contact placed the gear shifter into neutral to stop the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine twice. When the vehicle was restarted, it operated normally and was driven to the contact's residence. In addition, while depressing the brake pedal, smoke appeared from the brake pedal. Driving south on i-25 from albequerque to el paso. Tire blew out & i made a controlled stop. Looking under the rear inside dual wheel i saw the tire was shredded. I exited almost at once to a small town named belen, n.m. This occurred almost noon on a saturday. I considered myself lucky to find a tire store open in such a small town. I'm almost 75 with a heart condition. No way i was going to attempt to change that tire on a hot interstate alone. Craig tire co. Explained the recall policy. They replaced the blown tire (in 2 pieces) and placed it in my rv motor home. I paid them $165.08 and have the receipt. I was lucky to have found a tire dealer on saturday in the middle of the new mexico desert. I have called ford, firestone, the rv dealer, the rv manufacturer, the local tv station, even the newspaper. I understand there have been many complaints. Thank god no one was injured or killed. Thence, news of no importance! wrong! i'm retired. Unexpectingly i purchased this vehicle to travel at my leisure. The price of almost $69,000.00 is not primarily important. Someone selling me something that could have ended my wife's and my lives is my major concern. How many other unexpecting buyers may not be as fortunate? i used to drive a semi; i owned 12 trucks. Good thing i had experience with blowouts. Perhaps the next person won't know how to handle the blowout. Luckily, this was not a front tire, but an inside dual rear tire. I don't want the firestone i have. No one is interested in my problem nor reimbursement. Additiionally, on closer examination i found another tire, same size, on the right rear outside dual has a 2" crack in the sidewall, which i deem unsafe to drive on. I also own a 1998 ford ranger equipped with firestone wilderness ht tires, p225/70r15 m/s 1005. This vehicle has only 5,281 miles, purchased new. I'm told wildreness ht's are not included in the recall. I would appreciate your clarification. (dot number: vd1l 1xdtiresize: 225/75r16e)
