I was in an accident and my air bags did not work i have damage to front end and rear end

Another consumer heard a noise in vehicle and reached in to turn vehicle off. Consumer restarted vehicle, and when consumer reached in to restart vehicle, airbag deployed in his face without reason. Consumer became uncounscious, contacted dealer and dealer stated nothing they could do because vehiclewarranty expired.

Driver side air bag failed to deploy and the seat belt failed during accident, the driver suffered serious injuries to face, head and teeth. (the driver was mike madrill) yh

The main problem with a vehicle of mine is the spark plug blowing out of the engine.this has happened twice, and the manufacturer has swept it off like nothing was wrong.the vehicle is a 1999 ford e350 super duty van with a triton v10 engine.while searching online as well as talking with other people, this engine was a big failure.i have heard of at least 122 of these engine has had the same problem.ford charges well over $3000 each to have this fixed!this is an outrage.to try and creat a class action suite, would be way to expensive.where is help?consumers need you to help us.i have tried contacting ford over the past year with no response from them.this is not the only problem with the van.i have had the transmission replaced twice, within a month of each other, the windshiled replaced for a bad gasket, fuel tank and pump replaced, mass air flow sensor and i can go on and on.i need help with this.the van cost me $25000.i have paid well over $5000 in repair costs.please help.i know other consumers have had the same problem and they need help also.

1999 ford e350 caught fire and burned to a total loss while sitting cold in my driveway. I bought the vehicle used on nov 8, 2010. Dec 12, 2010 i drove about 3 miles to the grocery around 20:30; i returned home and parked the vehicle in my driveway about 20:45.about 22:15 a passing car observed flames coming from the front of the vehicle and flaring to contact my house. The witness alerted me at my door. I immediately grabbed the garden hose and attempted to spray water into the front grill, left side to put out the fire. I could not see where the actual fire was as the hood was closed, i sprayed where the flames exited the grill. The wind was blowing about 20 mph and i could not extinguish the flames. The vehicle was facing north, the wind blowing from west to east. The flames began to shoot out from the passenger wheel well in a horizontal streak as the wind stoked the fire. Neighbors called 911 while i diverted the water spray from the vehicle to the house and garage since the van was parked within 2 feet of the garage door and the wind now had flames shooting 8-12' high and brushing the wood garage door. The firemen arrived, knocked the vehicle hood off with a tool and sprayed the engine compartment to extinguish the fire. Due to the wind, the van was completely fire gutted and a total loss. The fire inspector advised me of the ford cruise control recall and said he could find no other possible cause for the fire in the engine compartment as there were no leaks of any kind and no recent repairs in the engine compartment. Local ford dealers have declined to tell me if my vin had warranty work to repair the switch.

The spark plugs blew out.

Spark plugs for this v-10 engine were not properly installed.spark plug worked itself loose over time and stripped threads in engine block before coming completely loose.resulting thread damage forced a complete new motor head installation at considerable expense and inconvenience.

Last couple of months the dashboard lights will come on and stay on. Also, at times they blink on and off.sometimes they stay on for 3 days at a time.

The contact owns a 1999 ford e350. The contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle exhibited an abnormal pop. Immediately, fuel flooded into the vehicle cabin.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer advised the contact that they had to replace the spark plug. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 372,000 and the current mileage is 372,500updated 07/06/12 the cylinder heads were replaced as well. Updated 07/12/12

1999 ford e350. Consumer states that while driving he noticedsmoke in the cab and the engine started to die. Consumer pulled over the vehiclebecame engulfed with flames. *mcthe consumer believed the fire started in the engine.(ohio traffic crash report)

During normal town driving, a spark plug was blown from passenger-side engine head, second from closest to passenger compartment. No prior issues with engine. Plugs not recently replaced. No obvious tell-tale signs that failure was immanent.vast majority of vehicle's 140k mileage was long run on interstate.threads were stripped, ignition coil was destroyed.no information from ford regarding how to fix, other than a dealers suggestions to replace head or replace engine. No information on fords web site.

Dt: had an engine failure while towing a boat. Had brakes but no power brakes. This happened on july 30, 2005.the service engine light came on anda few second later the engine failed. Themodule that controlledthe fuel injection failed. There was a hole coin the back of it, and it affected the whole engine. Water dripped out of the part when the mechanic took it off.

I have a 1999 chinook class c with a forde-350 chassis powered by a triton v-10. Shortly after buying it used we had a spark plug pop out. It was an original plug. We had them changed and took a cross country trip. As we were coming up on memphis tn. Another plug blew out. We were on an interchange in a very dangerous place. We could not get out as there was a freeway on both sides. It took 3 1/2hours to get us out of harms way. Just last weekend it happened again though i drove off the freeway. I have since read that this could cause a fire as the gas is getting pushed out the plug hole and the plug is out and firing. I have done some research and ford says the plugs were not torqued to spec which caused it to happen. We had our original plugs when it 1st happened.i also read online where a dealer had a very low mileage v-10 with original plugs and it happened to him. I think these heads are defective and should be replaced. I cannot find aftermarket heads so i would feel safer. It has always happened going down the freeway. The mechanic at the shop where it is says he has a ford kit to repair the heads. He says it is the only kit for this he has ever seen yet ford denies there is a real problem. I just feel lucky i have been able to get off the road each time. These engines are in many rv's and larger trucks which are harder to maneuver i.e. More dangerous.

Discca owns eight e-250 & e-350 ford vans. Two have had fan selector switches overheat and fill the cab with smoke.one is a 1999 e-350 and the other is a 2001 e-250.

The contact owns a 1999 ford e-350.the contact stated that the spark plug has blown out of the head due to the lack of threading needing to keep it in place.the mechanic informed him that the failure has occurred three times within the last five weeks.there are no recalls available for this failure.the mechanic also stated that this could be due to a design flaw.the vin was invalid.the failure mileage was 139,000 and current mileage was 140,000.

Oil leaking from head gasket. After two failures of this possible factory defect, dealer is replacing my engine with a rebuilt engine. They initially told me it would be a brand new factory engine. This is totally unacceptable. I want a brand new factory engine. Ford is nottaking care of this problem in a manner consistent with its serious nature. To say "it's fixed" by putting in a rebuilt engine is ridiculous. Word at ford enthusiasts message boards is that 1999 5.4 liter engines have casting defects. Please help.

I was doing some city driving in my ford van and all of a sudden it started to sound rough and like my muffler fell off. I stopped had it towed and they told me the spark plug had blown out of the engine. When looking into itseems that it is a fairly common problem. My understanding is that if i had not turned the engine off quickly i could have had a fire in there as there still is gas and combustion going on(the other 9 plugs) now i don't know if or when the other plugs will go on me ands am afraid to drive the car more than a taxi cab ride home.

While drivingvehicle lost compression .the vehicle would not exceed speeds of 20 mph.the dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

Engine oil leaking into engine cooling system.

Spark plug popped out of engine.

The diesel fuel tank had rusted, as a result the fuel line clogged. The dealerreplaced the fuel tank and within one year later the tank rusted out again.please provide additional information.

My e- 350 super duty , 1999 burn up for no apparent reason.

Building excessive fuel pressure causing the seal for the fuel filter housing to fail, this causing large quantities of fuel to spray over the engine and exhaust.

Fuel tank developed cracks at bottom andcausing fuel leakages. Dealer notified, and done repairs at 30% off.the company operates fleet of 52 vehicles.eleven of these vehicles developed fuel tank cracs at low mileage.

Diesel fuel tank filler neck failure. When filling with fuel filler neck leaks fuel. This was initially diagnosed in 2000. Filler neck replaced. September 2001 tank mounts replaced in recall. This is the second failure of the fuel tank filler neck. Ford refuses to make repairs under warranty.

Recall 01v114000: possible fuel tank crack.i took my van in for brake work.it was discovered that there is a fuel tank crack.i received a recall report from my mechanic from alldate online stating that this is an issue that happens to my type of vehicle.it is a van that i use for work.*cw

The contact owns a 1999 ford e350 van. The contact stated that the diesel fuel tank developed corrosion. The corrosion had filtered into the engine and caused the engine to stall while the contact was driving 65 mph. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic who advised that the entire fuel system needed to be replaced due to the corrosion. The contact had the fuel tank and fuel injectors cleaned previously but the cleaning did not remedy the issue. The failure mileage was 285,000. The vin was not available.

The vehicle stalls on numerous occasions due to lack of fuel. Investigation proved that the interior paint of the gas tank peals blocking the fuel pump. Research shows that delamination of the gas tank is frequent in this model causing a very unsafe condition as the van can stop at anytime as it looses power and propulsiondue to the paint flakes blocking the fuel.

The contact owns a 1999 ford f350. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel tank was dangling from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated that the fuel tank support straps were rusted. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Driver side air bag failed to deploy and the seat belt failed during accident, the driver suffered serious injuries to face, head and teeth. (the driver was mike madrill) yh

Ford e-350 and e-250 vans, both are year,1999 the antilock and brake lights came on simultaneously at a 105k miles on each. There should be no reason for this and i also noticed many others with the same issues. It will impose a safety issue because i seen a web site mentioning how to disconnect dash lights for both. Please take this into consideration before auto owners start disconnecting wire harness.[xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

4wabs :brake pedal hard. Abs light on. No stoping force to brakes. Linings greater than 50%. Calipers and wheel cylinders fucntioning freely visual inspection. Front wheel sensors responding. This is a very dangerous cituation when an error occurs abs should turn off and brakes should work minus abs!

Brake failure.this has been reported previously and i have made numerous attempts to get it repaired at the dealer and to convey the problem to the manufacturer.the problem is intermittent and impossible to predict.one of the front wheels lock up and serve as the only braking force.in dry weather it will "pull" to one side and in wet weather it will skid resulting in no braking force.on 10/08/03 this occurred in a rain shower as i pulled into an interstate rest area (20-25mph).i first applied the brakes @ 100 - 125 feet from the rear of a tractor-trailer.with maximum pedal pressure nothing responded until i was 20 -25 ft from the trailer.the vehicle is a 1999 chinook conversion on a 1998 ford 350 motor home chasis.the unit is a death trap, a ticking time-bomb waiting to explode.i cannot sell the unit in good consience and had to buy another vehicle to supplement its use.it cannot be safely used in inclement weather or on unpaved surfaces.in the incedent above i did not expect rain and the shower began half way to my destination.*la

When appylingbrakesvehicle will tend to pull to the left. This usually happens. But, it happens stronger whenbrakes are being applied at high speeds. Contacted dealer, and the dealerwas not willing to do anything.

1999 ford e350 with only 48,000 miles has the brake lines so badly rusted that they are leaking brake fluid. The vehicle can't be driven until all the brake lines are replaced. Replacement parts are not available from ford. I must fabricate replacements from generic parts. It should be a requirement that brake lines be made from stainless steel so they can't rust out. This is a clear dangerous condition that could be eliminated if manufacturer were required to usestainlesssteel which will not rust.i almost drove through my garage door when the brake pedal went to the floor when the rusted brake line burst. I had to jam on the parking brake to stop the vehicle. This happens without warning one day the brakes work the next day they don't. Make brake lines from stainless steel so they won't rust!!

I recently purchased a used 24' 1999 winnebago itasca spirit with very low mileage and at that time i noticed a shaking or vibration problem possibly coming from the tires. I owned a motor home in the past and have some experience. This motor home sat for several years so i attributed the shaking to the memory in the rubber of flat spots on the bottom from sitting for a long time that usually smooth out when driven especially after 30 or 40 miles on a warm day, but after a 400 mile trip it didn't smooth out, in fact it seems to have worsened. Before purchasing it from a private party i ran an instavin and carfax report and only discovered an uncompleted nhtsa recall #05s28 on the speed control only. I then searched several forums and discovered many, many reports of the same problem with the shaking and learned it is due to faulty wheels and ford is not making good the problem but offered an expensive fix that i understand is also iffy. I am very concerned about my family's safety driving on these defective wheels and first looked into replacing the tires which i learned isn't the problem but the faulty wheels that were an oem ford part, so i want to add my complaint to the many you already have and maybe ford will fix this potentially serious safety problem.

While drivingconsumerhit a bumpandsteering became uncontrolable.steering wheelalmost jerked fromdriver's hands.a steering stabilizer was added to make vehicle driveable and it still is not normal.

Steering felt loose. Mechanic determined a nut onsteering column got loose. This has happened 2 more times.

The vehicle was going 20mph down a dirt road. The van hit a bump and loss control causing the vehicle to run off the road and hit a tree. The manufacturer was notified but the vehicle is being repaired by a collision shop. Consumer sustained eye injuries, passenger received injuries to neck and stomach, also having headaches.loss of steering also came about in accident.vehicle is gas powered, not diesel!!!

To much end play in steering box out put shaft. Dealership (gorno ford) has seen vehicle twice. In august 1999 and today 12/3/99 and tells me there is no problem. But yet i can feel the loosness in the steering wheel when manuvering in parking lots and/or driving down the freeway.

14 people in van at time of rollover. Only person thrown from vehicle did not have seatbelt on.

Consumer says the doors are of poor construction, and unsafe due to cheep quality. The panels structure (side) seems to be too thin, like there is no insulation, also if the panels of poor const. That is a big problem. Un safe.

Consumer operates twelve ambulances and seven wheelchair vans.the vehicles are experiencing premature failure/seperation of the driver and passenger door hinges.*jg

Vehicle sways and bottoms out. Box on the truck falls down and hits the tires. It is 1500lbs undergross weight.contacted dealer, they had called the region engineer.vehicle does not meet gvw standards.*ml

The problem presented as a "popping" noise as reported by the driver, whenever the brakes were applied. Upon investigation for brake system problem the repair station identified the broken spring. This coil spring is broken in several locations along the upper coil, with fragmentation in longitudinal and transverse body of the spring material. This could present a loss of suspension control if the breakage worsened, or occurred at multiple other locations in the course of degradation. The vehicle has been removed from service, and other units in the same order history for this fleet are being inspected.dt

Upon speeds in excess of 45mph, front end vibrates as if you are driving an orbital sander on gravel

Consumer states that the tires that failed were firestone steeltex lt225/75r16 r4s ii ld range d, no other information givenjg

While driving the vehicle pulled to the right.the vehicle was taken to ford and ford stated that all 4 tires were bad. *nlm

Tire size is lt225/75r16 m/s, i could not fit it in the box.the tire tread seperated while on the highway and the tread caused aporx $1000 damage to the wheel well and cabinet next to the wheel. (dot number: vd1l1xd348tiresize: lt225/75r1)

Vehicle experienced two blowout, one while in motion and one while parked. (goodyear lt 245 75r16)* nlm

After driving on pavement, air temp 71 degrees for 45 minutes - the tire just came apart.there is a gaping hole down the center. We had another steeltex on the same vehicle loose its tread 8 weeks ago, and reported it here.this is the second firestone steeltex orginal tire on the rv that has fallen apart.we even had it inspected three days ago, and the pressure checked.because it is an rv the weight is considerable.the original tires just can't seem to hold up. Now we are wondering if the vehicle is safe to drive.we had it inspected by a firestone dealer three days ago, and obviously they couldn't diagnose what was about to happen.this is very scary, a 12,000 pound vehicle loosing tires, twice in 8 weeks. (dot number: vd1l1xd279tiresize: lt25575r16)

Consumer stated the right rear tire experienced a blowout while driving at freeway speeds, there was some damage to fender of vehicle.245/75r16, original equipment, mounted on a 1999, ford e350, 47000 miles.. Consumer stated tires were under recall, goodyear replaced 4 tires, however they did not replaced the tire that failed.

Front passenger/ driver's passenger, and rear tires lost air. Consumerwas constantly putting air into the tires.

While traveling onhighwaydriver felt like he had been hit, felt wobbly and pulling. Then, heard an explosion, driver's rear tire blewout. No accident or injuries occurred lt225/75r16, under investigation, tires were original equipment.firestone steeltex tires.

The van was being driven when motioned by other motorist of a problem with the rear tire (goodyear wrangler radial lt 245/175/r16 4 plies), the inspection revealed a low tire, driver was going to another exit to have the tire looked at, however while driving the vehicle experienced tread separation/blow out which resulted in vehicle rollover, multiple injuries and one fatality due to tire failure.(ohio traffic crash report)*mjs

Goodyear, tire size lt245/75r16. Consumer has had two tires replaced due to tread separation.goodyear replaced 3 tires due to safety program. Would not replace other two. Original equipment on ford, e350, 1999.

While traveling on the highway without prior warning the rear tire tread separted.the tire is a good year rangler lt24575r16 low range.nlm

While being driven truck started to wobble.front tires had developed a bubble, and the tread was separating.owner took truck to dealership, whothen replaced the tires.later, owner received recall notice in whichdealership refused to do repairs because original tires were not on truck.no specific tire information given.

Pe00-040; consumer was traveling about 65mph onhighway and feltvibration inside of the bus. This was the second blowout this month. She was able to pull over andnoticed that internal passenger rear tire.no one was hurt, steeltex #r4s, 2257516. She has contacted firestone at this time.

We were driving north of philadelphia, pa on 08/10/00.the left front tire suddenly went flat.i immediately pulled over to the right shoulder.i observed that the tire needed to be replaced.jacobs towing was contacted to come to the roadside and provide a tire change.(cost $50)when we arrived in maryland, 08/12/00, i took the flat to firestone at 1492-94 annapolis rd., odenton, md.a man wearing a blue shirt with red letters "firestone"no id tag, assisted us.he gave the work order to jeremy to check the tire for any road hazard damage.there was none.jeremy found a leak near the valve stem.jeremy said the valve stem is split and also noticed a "bubble" on the outside of the tire approximately 4-6 inches from the valve stem.this was seperate from the damage that the tire sustained while the vehicle sat on the flat tire.jeremy removed the tire from the rim and inspected the entire tire.he observed a large patch of rubber missing from the inside of the tire in the exact location as the outside "bubble."jeremy said, "it looks like your tire exploded on the inside, but i need to let my manager see this."the manager said, "that's natural."the manager proceeded to try to find various reasons for the deformity inside the tire, none of which he could fully explain.he even went as far as to state that someone must have stood on the valve stem, thus causing the damage.he also tried to prove that the hubcap caused the damage, which i quickly disproved.the manager refused to exchange the tires and refused to give me his name upon request.i purchased a "spare" for $111.34.this is the second tire that has been replaced on the rv.the first had a defective tread.the firestone dealer in houston, tx exchanged it.it also had the same id information as this tire.all the tires on the rv are from the vdil plant.since there currently is a recall on passenger tires from this plant, i am greatly concerned about the safety of these tires.

The contact owns a 1999 ford e-350.the contact received a recall notice in august of 2007 for the vehicle speed control: cruise control.she called the dealer and they explained that the parts were on backorder, but they would disconnect the cruise control until the parts arrived.as of may 16, 2008, the parts are still unavailable.the contact believes that nearly a year is completely unreasonable to not have received the parts by now.there had been no failure to date; however, she wants her cruise control reconnected.the recall number was unknown.

Defroster/defogger had malfunctioned while driving; dealer was contacted.
