This vehicle developed cracks on both brake rotors thru to the fins. I have both in my possession. I have been in contact with ford motor co. And they deny any responsibility as my warranty had expired in may of 2000. I had a wobble in the steering wheel for sometime prior to may of 2000 but did not realize what it was. It became inceasingly worse, when i spoke with the local ford dealer they referred me to automotive & rv specialists as the dealer could not work on a large vehicle. The rotors were replaced with napa rotors as rv specialists owner mr. Dallas shark said ford was having problems with casting in their rotors and it would not make sense to replace with two more ford rotors. Ford hasdenied reinbursement for this reason. Mr shark stated that this was a serious safety issue as the rotors could have exploded at anytime leaving me with no braking capability at all. He will be happy to answer any questions on my behalf. He can be contacted at 520-532-0086 or 800 n. 16th st. Show low, az 85901. I have documention from the ford motor co. Available if needed in this investigation.thank you

Owner has a fleet of 22 1994-1995 vehicles that are starting to show a high rate of failures of the upper brake shoe anchor is breaking out of the backing plate, this causes the brake shoes to contact the outboard face of the brake drum, which can also cause damage to the wheel cylinder and cause brake failure.

Toms river schools vehicle maint. Dept maintains 17 ford e-350 mini school buses, 1995 and 1998 model years. This brake hose failure was due to a rusted portion of the hose assembly . The area that rusted away is the crimped connection which joins the rubber hose to the steel fitting end of the hose assembly. This rust is not visible while doing a routine inspection of the brake system because it is covered by a rubber sleeve!. Apparantly water/moisture is collecting under this rubber sleeve and corroding the steel crimped area of the fitting until there is no more of a secure connection of the rubber hose to the steel , then when the brakes are applied and the fluid is pressurized in the brake system the rubber hose will blow away from the steel fitting!...i believe this is a serious problem as it is sudden brake loss, multiplied by the fact that a routine prevetive maintenance check of the brake hoses does not reveal the rusted/faulty connection because of the rubber sleeve covering it.

Has this tire been recalled? i was very lucky this time!! (dot number: vd1l1xb026tiresize: lt22575r16)

No summary listed for above vehicle.

Right rear tire had massive failure while driving on interstate. Moved car to side of road and changed out tire. Prior to failure noticed thumping noise from rear of vehicle that shook vehicle. There were no road hazards struck to cause this incident. There was no accident, injury or loss of life. I suspected something was wrong prior to the failure when the thumping noise became noticable, however i thought the tires might need balancing. Now there are more thumping noises so i am going to have to changeout the the remaining three tires. I tried to contact firestone but the wait time to speak with someone was too long. I still have the tire and would be happy to bring it in for your analysis since i am in the washington dc area. (dot number: v6ttbtatiresize: 245/75r16)
