We purchased a 99 e250 cargo van in november 06, we are not sure if old owner had same problem, within 2 weeks we had problems with van starting. We only have the problem after the car is shut off. It does not stall while running. We can turn it off and try to start it right back up, it will not turn all the way over. We have replaced the fuel pump and had in the shop 3 times. They are unable to find anything wrong. It has been hooked up to a computer, when it is started it shows nothing wrong, when it won't start it won't read at all. With no rhyme or reason it will start on it's own. Sometimes it will be a few tries and sometimes it is days till it starts. Our mechanic is at a loss as to how to fix this. It has caused my husband to be stranded at jobs 4 times now.

Vehicle was traveling at 65 mph when all of a sudden the spark plug blew out, causing the vehicle to stall. Consumer will contact manufacturer.

Subject: ford v-8 truck engine spark plug blowout comments: i am a construction company business owner that uses ford vans for our work. This past week we had a spark plug blow out of the head of one of our vehicles this is the third time it has occurred on this particular vehicle each time we have to place it in the shop it costs nearly $300.00 to have it repaired. Not to mention the loss of use of the truck for 2 -3 days.while researching the problem online i have discovered that this has been a fairly common occurrence on many of these engines for several years. I wonder if their is some recourse thru ford other than a class action law suite to recover the expense? please respond yours truly[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My name is [xxx] . I am a small business owner in bartlett illinois. I own a ford econoline 250& a ford expedition. Both vehicles have been "ford serviced" since new.i recently had a spark plug blow out of the engine.i have had many a car in my days and i have never heard of this failure.ford insisted this was not an engine defect, and although they were the only service people that ever worked on the vehicle, i was still responsible for this repair.the cost around $750. Money is important, but principle is more important.after searching the web i found this: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/ford_spark.htmlhundreds of complaints with the same failure. It is my hope that you can do something to bring this to the public's attention and force ford into admitting fault.this is why people do not buy american any longer; to be honest i have always been a ford person; not any more. I am selling both vehicles and never buying another ford again.thanks in advance for any help you can give in this matter. Sincerely, [xxx]ces, inc. Spark plug blew out of rh head of ford e-250 van.

The head gasket failed, which caused oil to leak.

I returned to my truck after work to go home.when i started it, there was a loud popping noise from under the hood.after investigation, i found the #3 sparkplug on the passenger side gone.it was blown out.

Master cyclinder went out, side doors needed to be aligned, oil, leak, head gasket, brakes not operating properly, hard starting, back firing, trans shifting early into overdrive,

Begining in the year 2000, the 98 e150 went through the factory motor at 90,000 miles.coolant mixing with oil without ever overheating. Ford was going to fix until i told them that my my vehicle was repaired at a privately owned shop versus the dealership (my brother owns the shop and the local dealer sends him all of their difficult repairs). It took me approximately 16 months come up with the money to have the motor machined and repaired properly. Total cost $4000. I finally felt confident that the vehicle would serve me well, until two weeks ago, the transmission locked up . Overdrive messed up and caused other problems as well.nowi have no wheels until i come up with $1700 more. I'm in the construction industry, andif use inferior techniques or products i am held accountable. Shouldn't ford live by at leat the same standards as a lowlycarpenter.

After full acceleration, the throttle on my 1999 ford e250 stuck wide open.the vehicle did not shut off and there was no time to shift into neutral.the vehicle has adaptive controls making shifting more difficult than for a non-disabled driver.the adaptive equipment could be the cause, but most likely it was the ford throttle.

Very bad bump and clunking sound from steering when going over rough surfaces at slow speeds or when going down hill and putting on brakes especially in a turn.bounces over road and hard to control when going down hill and using brakes.the same part has been replaced in the steering column by dealer 7 times and only stays fixed for short time.it continually gets worse until it is unsafe to drive.i believe brakes and steering column are the problems.both have worn out excessively.i have hadproblems since buying the van new.ford gave me an extended warranty because they couldn't fix it.

Front springs and shocks are causing swaying, steering wheel pulling, extreme tire wear.van wants to travel all over road.tires are no good at 18000 miles.ford says theres nothing wrong.have seen this problem in other ford vans.have had 4 indepent automobile service stores tell me there is a problem with front springs and shocks but ford will not admitt to anything being wrong.was told that after market springs and shocks will solve problem of tire wear and steering. Replacement scheduled, will retain parts.know of two other low mileage, late model ford trucks with similar low mileage ball joint failures.ford does not believe they are responsible yet their own service people are telling me they see an inordinate number of these failures and wonder why there has been no recall.

My wife and i planned to take two of our grandchildren to the north carolina zoological society in asheboro, n.c..on the morning of july 7 we headed south from central virginia on route 29.we reached lynchburg within an hour and noticed that the ride was getting rougher.we pulled over to the side of the road to check the vehicle.i visually inspected the undercarriage, the suspension system and the wheels and did not see anything out of the ordinary.we were concerned about continuing our trip and decided to turn back and head home again.i drove 35 mph with the emergency blinkers on until we reached a gas station near the intersection of route 29 and 60.the vibration had turned into a steady thumping as i had proceeded to this point. I visually inspected the vehicle again and noticed a tear along the inside side wall of the passenger rear wheel. On closer inspection i noticed that the tear was along the edge of the tread and could be pulled away from the tire.we decided to call aaa and have them change out the tire for us.after arriving home from our attempted trip we decided to replace all four tires with goodyear tires for a total cost of $529.33.the attendant (mackenzie horn) at the goodyear service center, jenkins automotive, 1564 seminole trail, charlottesville, va 22901 (434) 974-6680 confirmed our belief that the tire was indeed defective.

The firestone steeltex tires (p225/75r16) and (p245/75r16) have experienced tread separation, the last experience caused the vehicle to go into a ditch which also caused body damage, the consumer owns 10 of these vehicles with these tires which have experienced the same tire problems.
