The fuel tank on my 2000 ford f150 fell off while i was driving @ 30 or 35 mph the friction with the pavement caused the tank to leak and i had a full tank. .the cost of repairs was over $ 750.

The contact owns 2000 ford e150 . The vehicle was parked when the contact first noticed a strong odor of gasoline coming from the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated there was a fracture in the fuel tank. The failure mileage was 63,000.

After filing up gas tank and parking vehicle - noticed gas leaking from gas tank - had a ford mechanic look at it and he said it looked like similar problem he had seen with other ford e-150s that had crack in 35 gallon mid-ship fuel tank where it [tank] contacts the frame cross member - he told me to look it up on line... I did and i called ford customer support - they said this recall applied to e-150s built at lorainne plaint between april 1996 and november 2000... They looked up my vin and said it was built in november 1999 at the loraine plaint and should be on list but was not -- wrote letter to ford and nhtsa - no response from ford.

Discovered ruptured fuel tank after being parked overnight.

The fuel tank on this ford e150 van leaks fuel during fill ups.the ford dealer (pacifico ford in broomall, pa) states that the vehicle needs a new gas tank.the fuel tank developed cracks and pin holes at the top of the tank.research online states that the same problem occured with other ford truck and vans and a recall was issued.the recall, namely 01v114000 covers ford vans manufactured between 04/09/1996- 11/14/2000.my vehicle certificate of origin from for is dated august 28, 2000 and therefore proves that the vehicle was manufactured within the specified dates.this vehicle is used as a work truck, so it operates near the gross vehicle weight.due to a lack of insulators seperating the tank and steel cross members, the constant rubbing caused the deteriation of the fuel tank.

Whiledriving about 45 mphconsumer applied brakes to slow down, and vehicle pulled to the right. Following that consumer was not able to make a left turn, vehicle would only go straight and to right. Took vehicleto dealer, who replaced frontbrake pads and grounded down front rotors. Since then, every time consumer applied brakebrakes squealed loudly. Back to dealer 5 times, cannot remedy squealing, dealer told consumer this squealing when applying brakes was normal for a econoline van.

Brakes vibrate real badly and it is very hard to stop vehicle.brakes have to be resurfaced every 9,000 miles. Vehicle hasbeenat dealer, but they have no remedy.

When brakes are applied van will occasionally veer to the left. In onesituation driver made an attempt to push brake pedal, and it was hard for a couple of seconds, and then descended. The dealer says the pulling to the left is normal.*jg

At 24075 miles the front brakes had to be replaced, the rotors also were turned but the pedal was not pulsing ford just turned them anyway, at 35735 i needed new upper ball joints with allignment , at 38571 i needed a new tie rod sleeve .there seems to be a verry low standard of quality in both the brakes and the front suspension components there are no grease fittings supplied from ford on the suspension components, this is a must if you want anything related to the front suspension to last especially when the vehicle is used for fleet purposses. Thank you greg.

Doormetal on driver's side is cracking which produces a squeaky noise.

When reaching the speed of 50 mph or more the vehicle vibrates/shakes, which pulls to the left or right making it hard to control the steering wheel, especially when it's very windy out. Also, when turning on the a/c there is a very strong odor, which causes headaches/nausea.we have been told it's glue from putting the wood in the interior and the dealer says it is harmless to me and my family.

Consumer states vehicle shakes really hard between 35 and 60 mph, took to dealer and they change front end parts.that didn't correct the problem. Please provide any further information.ts

Would be driving vehicle 50mph or so when vehicle started to shake/vibrate. It would then drift left or right. Vehicle was hard to control.steering wheel would shake at higher speeds. Had taken vehicle to dealership many times for problem, but mechanic could not resolve the drifting.

At 35,500 miles on my 2000 e-150 series van, the vehicle had a problem with pulling or "drifting hard" to the right. After requesting that the vehicle have a front end alignment check, the dealership found that the ball-joints were in need of replacement. Joints were replaced under manufacturers warranty on 07/2002, but alignment was charged to me. Now the vehicle was just in for the same problem with hard drift to right (at 55mph, the vehicle would make enough of drift to change one full lane in 5 seconds) was told by dealer that the ball joints were bad again, and were replaced under extended warranty plan. Was told by dealership that drifting was normal for vans.*la

While driving any speed consumer heard a rattling noise. Dealership repaired the front coil springs twice, but problem recurred.

While driving 25mph heard a popping noise in front end and felt vehicle was swaying, consumer took vehicle to dealership, and dealership indicated that bushings were broken, had bushings replaced, and they broke again within 3 days.also, indicated this will be a continuous problem.

Rear left leaf spring cracks, considered a major safety hazard by ford service techs.this failure was on a 2000 ford e-150 van.it was purchased new in jan. 2001 and only has 26,000 miles.i am a disabled driver and do not drive fast or any type of off rode, all city driving.in dec. 2006 i had ford perform a thorough safety inspection prior to my 6 year warranty end.this inspection included the suspension and it checked out fine. 9 months and only 2,000 miles later 3 of the steel bars are cracked on the left rear leaf spring. I was unaware of the cracks until it was caught during a routine maitainance visit at ford. I had no accidents prior to this failure, or hit any potholes, bumps etc.in fact, i had the ford service tech and twoindependant techs tell me that cracked leaf springs not resulting from an accident are almost unheard of.all the mechanics said it would have taken quite a jolt to have cracked the leaf spring.i would have remembered an extremely hard jolt as i drive from a whelchair and with hand controls, believe me, you are very aware of even the slightest bumps. There is no bent axle, tire, shock, or wheel rim damage, and each mechanic was left scratchin their head as to how the leaf spring could have cracked.the two non ford mechanics suggested the possibility of poor quality steel.ford replaced it, unfortunately 7 months after the warranty ended. I asked the ford dealer if they would send the part back to the ford engineers to see if it was defective, they said they would be required to if it was still under warranty.since it is 7 months out of warranty they wouldlook into sendding it back.anyway, its fixed, but i shudder to think what might have happened if it wasn't caught and cracked completely while driving.especially using full hand controls.

My 2000 ford van e150 is involved in the recall campaign due to a defective speed control deactivation switch (recall 05s28).i followed the steps contained in the recall letter, and made an appointment with my ford dealer (world ford in pembroke pines, fl) to have the repair accomplished.on the date of the appointment, i arrived to be told, rather rudely at that, that they did not have the parts to accomplish the repair, and did not know when they would receive any.no effort was made to disengage the defective part to protect against fire, and no promise of any future work on a date specific was made.apparently, ford is not taking this recall as seriously as it should.your assistance in needed in making certain that ford follows through on this recall.

The contact owns a 2000 ford e-150. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck and caused the vehicle to accelerate on its own. The contact had to shift the vehicle into the neutral position to slow it down. The contact stated that she did not have the cruise control activated or a mat on the floorboard. The failure had recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to a personal mechanic for diagnosis, however no failure could be found. The dealer and manufacturer were both notified, but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were 121,000.
