The inner workings of the keyhole within ignition is misaligned.the key cannot start the vehicle.have been stranded till after countless tries, all of a sudden it will move and the ignition finally unlock.i always have the beeping going on if the door is open, even with no key in ignition.this can only be silenced by wigglingthe ignition (without a key in it)i am very much afraid the ignition is going to separate from steering column and just fall out!that would leave me no way to start the vehicle and get home!nlm

I just want to know if these vans are having trouble. The ignition switch sometime would not turn off and i would have to work the key and also turn the steeing wheel back and for to get the key out.i took it to a authorized ford dealer to have repaired.they replaced the switch cylinder they said.one week later i was driving the van and when i turned the wheels to the left some time i would have to use force to get the wheels back to the right.the wheels locked up and i could not turn them while going to back up and also i could not get the transmission out of drive.again they said the cable to the transmision had broken and was replaced.my question what has to be disassembled to replace the switch cylinder and if the steering wheel has to be pulled to do soand if during reassembling that the rod that lock the steering wheel when the ignition is in place was disturbed and has to be lined up.and if not properly alined would this effect the steering of the vehicle when the key is in the on position.i am very curious do know.if you could would you please e-mail me with a answer.thank you in advancemiles

Ford recall 05s28 of the speed control deactivation switch. I was contacted by ford to bring my e-150 van in for a recall on my scds. I took the vehicle in question to wade ford in smyrna, ga. 30080. They disconnected the scds and said that they didn't have the parts to fix the problem and it would be oct. Before they were available. I have waited patiently while ford took their time to correct the problem. I have called every month to get my vehicle repaired and finally on feb. 29, 2008 i was told by dave chance a service advisor that they finally had the parts to make the necessary repairs. They assured me that they had the parts to make the repair and i set up an appointment to have the repair done and they told me that it would take 1 to 2 hours to do. My appointment was for march 4, 2008 at 8:00 am. I arrived at the service department at 7:45 am and was checked in and told that i could wait in their waiting room till they were done. At 8:55 am the service advisor dave chance came in to tell me that he was sorry that they didn't have the parts in to fix the scds and there was nothing that they could do.i was very upset with these people as i was given the impression and the notice that they could repair my scds at this time. I told them that my time was as important to me as their time was to them. They said that they were sorry for the inconvenience that it caused me, and when i told them that they should pay me the same hourly rate that they charge to work an my vehicle they said that they would change my oil for me free of charge. I felt that this was a slap in the face and that they could care less about my time.

Transformer that is used to power the neon light beam overheated and caught on fire. Vehicle was not included in recall# 94v128000.consumer also states this problem has created other problems within the electrical system.please give any further details.

Poor materials of external coolant pipes, which run under the van, have corroded due to exposure to water, road salts,etc.nlm

Our van was modified in december, 2000, with a raised roof and extended doors to allow accessability for our handicapped son.we discovered around july, 2002, that the company performing the modification had not installed a reinforced steel cage or used a raised fiberglass roof already reinforced.this is a major omission that could cause serious injury in the event of a rollover or other serious incident; a major safety issue.we have notified the company on july 29, 2002of our concerns but have not received a response as of this date.the company performing the modifcation is accessability specialists, inc., 1815 corporate square boulevard suite 200, jacksonville, florida 32216.the company president is west westmoreland.we have filed a formal complaint with nmeda (web site www.nmeda.org) of which the company is a member.

1993 ford e-150 van leaks fuel from tank (not filler neck) during fillup. Unable to completely fill tank because of this problem.

When filling fuel tank,before tank is filled , fuel runs out oftank.

A leak has developed where the gas tank hose connects to the filling /venting tube, it appears as though weather has created this problem, i feel that it is a design flaw because this areais not protected from the elements. Potentially very dangerous

I have a 1993 ford e150 conversion van with at, abs,ps, pw, pl, tv, vcr, and type n engine (v8 5.0).i went to fill up with gasoline and it appears that the vent pipe leaks.has this problem been identified by other owners?

The contact owns a 1993 ford e-150. While fueling the vehicle at a fuel station, the fuel would leak out from the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact was concerned for her safety and called firmin ford (located at 921 e main st, laurens, sc 29360, (864) 682-3111) to schedule a diagnostic appointment. The contact was informed that there was no recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 186,000.

The housing that holds the light bulbmelted . One of the rear map/courtesy lights got stuck in the on position, this caused the interior light housing to melt, consumer has themelted light housing.

Three times the left front inner wheelbearing has disintegrated allowing rotor to fall down on spindle, with no indication ofbearing failure, no noise whatsoever.this most recent incident tire wheel rotor came completely off spindle at 70 m.p.h. The outer bearing still full of grease . Indication that there is instantanious discenergration of inside bearing. I believe spindle was turned to small by a few thousands allowing race to break loose. I am blessed to have walked away from this engneering diaster called ford econoline. I am 53 years old @ have had more problems with this van than all of the other vehicles i have ever owned.

Transmission operates poorly when vehicle temperature is high, replacement transmission repeated behavior. Mjs

Front brakes jerk, vehicle pulls to right when applied. Happens constantly. Took to dealer 4 times for repairs & was unable to locate problem. Dealer had vehicle under warranty & tecnical service bulletin. Would not repair when vehicle out of warranty.

When applying the abs brakes at speeds of 30 to 40mph, the vehicle shakes.cause unknown.

While driving the vehicle one can hear the brakes dragging against the rotors.the rotors were replaced in 4/96with about 18,000 miles on vehicle because of warping. The rotors have become warped again and need replacing with about 28, 000 miles. Rotors have not bee replaced this time.

Steering is locking causing loss of control.

Driving home from shopping i backed out of a parking space and heard a loud popping sound upon inspection the 2 mounting bolts holding the gearbox to the frame rail had sheared off and the 3rd one had ripped through the frame rail completely and dropped the gearboxhad to have it towed home upon further inspection there are stress cracks around the mounting holes for the gearbox bolts.

Wife was driving van out of driveway heard a loud snapping sound and she lost steering and brakes went out she did not make it too the road i went out and looked at van and the steering box bolts had snapped off causing the steering box too hit brake linevanwas towed to repair shop repairs are pending.

Steeringlocks up when brakes are applied.

The three bolts that mount the steering box broke and the frame has multible cracks,the bolts show no sign of wear as if loose, but do look like they might have been over tightened. This happened suddenly and resulted in no control of the van.

I was driving east, just past monroe, la, on i-20 just prior to mile marker 126 when the right passenger tire came off my e150 1993 ford van. I was able to maintain control of the van to get it off the road.thankfully, the rim/tire, and brake caliper did not hit a vehicle; i found it about a half mile prior to where i was able to get the van stopped.i thought i a blowout had occurred but when i looked, there was no rim or tire on the van.i bought the van new in late 1992 and have maintained it well throughout its lifetime.how can this happen?just prior to getting to monroe, there was a wobble in the steering like a big gust of wind had hit it or i had struck a recap.i got out and checked but found nothing unusual.i drove on to monroe and ate lunch at chili's.shortly after getting back on i-20 is when this episode happened.a lot of people could have been injured or killed.weather was clear with light breeze and no rain.this is the first time this has happened to me.the van was towed by aaa by bears to hixson ford in monroe, la for repair where it is now waiting.the wheel well, passenger door and various trim items were also damage due to the wheel coming off and having it towed.

From the date the conversion van was purchase, the consumer was having an on going problem withthe steering.the van would not drive straight, it wandered all over the road.over the years in an attempt to correct this problem the ball joints and steering gear has been replaced. The problem still existed.

Hello,my name is ted and i currently own 1993 ford clubwagon, and i've had it for nearly 5 years.(please excuse my lack of knowledge about the car.i don't really know about parts of vehicle.... )anyway, i've never found any particular problem with my car, except for the fact it tends to lose the wheel alignment quite often, and heard really loud, dull "thumb" sound every time i turn the steering wheel all the way to counterclockwise.i've taken my vehicle to ford dealership for that specific problem but they couldn't resolve the problem.rather, they have suggested as if it was to be disregard. Few days ago, i pulled my car from the parking lot and again, as usual, i heard that "thump".but this time, there was a small metallic part flew out of the car.so i brought the car to the dealer service center and found out driver side front frame was cracked !!!!the crack ran all the way to gearbox.and of course, in order to replace the frame costs fortune, for it will be structural rebuild.(the estimate, sum of $6,000 or up,was made by ford dealership).so i called the manufacturer's customer relations department but unfortunately they weren't willing to do anything about it. I'm so perplexed about the fact that despite i have maintained the vehicle well over the years, the vehicle is practically a junk. To me, it's caused by manufacturer's defective part, for the vehicle was never involved in collision. Never. And as you well know, clubwagon isn't a cargo van, it's rather luxurious passenger van.i've never overloaded the vehicle with stuff nor put 20 people in it.therefore frame wasn't damaged due to misuse nor exceeding its capable limit, i believe.i've only seen or heard of incidents of broken frame or structural damage caused major accident, not just pulling out of parking lot. I'm positively convinced that the manufacturer is to blame, and as i submit the complaint, i would like to take an opportunity to thank you for your ti.

Whenvan was taken to the dealership for brake inspection, a mechanic found a cracked wheel bearing, which could have caused the left front tire to come off. Please provide any further informatoin.

Left memphis, tn for out of town trip on 4/12/01.all four tires rotated and balanced by local firestone dealer 5 days before trip (eric ph 901-323-2627).stayed murphreesboro, tn overnight. Started driving 9am 4/13/01, got to monteagle, tn going up hill, thump, thump, thump.looked - peach size bulge, inside right front tire, at point where side wall meets tread.put four new tires on at monteagle due to safety concerns.got back to memphis, local firestone dealer, eric, confirmed tread separation as did independent tire dealer, gateway tire.local dealer offered credit for unused tread toward purchase of one replacement tire.i declined offer.called firestone recall hotline, ph 800-465-1904, 04/16/01, explained problem, my tires p235/75r15 105s mts, dot # vdhl awr 447, wilderness ht, woman said nothing they could do because tire not on recall list.i asked if she wanted my name, address and information so they could contact me if needed or to report problem and she said no.please call, would like to know what to do next, would be happy to discuss in further detail. Tire tread came completely off tire.i was able to safely stop vehicle.firestone dealer in aurora colorado, store # 028924 told me that all four tires were manufactured at the decator plant.they treated this like a recall and replaced all four tires at no cost with general tires.the first tire to do exactly the same thing under identical circumstances lost its tread about 6 months ago, prior to problem identification at decator plant.second tire came apart in wyoming.i made this report thinking that the problems at decator might extend beyond the tires currently identified, as the affinity tires are not on the recall list.thanks.dave ashton( dot number: tire size: 235/75r15 )

One of the firestone steeltex r4s (p235/75r15) experienced tread separation and noise from the right rear tire, the consumer replaced all the tires and is requesting reimbursement.

The drivers side rear tire experienced tread separation, also the the passenger rear tire experienced tread separation the very next day, the tires were daytona f235/75r/15, however consumer was informed that the tires were made by firestone, consumer has since replaced all four tires.

Whenbrakes were applied to deactivate the speed control, vehicle accelerated suddenly and unexpectedly,resulting in a collision which caused minor injuries. Consumer has contacted the dealer.

The contacts owns a 1993 ford e150.while driving 45 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle failed to stop when the brake pedal was depressed.the contact stated that he had to shift the vehicle into neutral and then apply the brakes for the vehicle to stop.the dealer has not inspected the vehicle.the failure mileage was 127,000 and current mileage was 128,000.updated 01-16-08.the mechanic stated the problem was due to cruise control failure. The consumer has crashed intomailboxes causing damage to the vehicle. The consumer has since sold the vehicle. Updated

Ford recall #05s28 indicates a potential fire hazard in my "speed control deactivation switch" which may leak causing a underhood fire. Ford wants to put a fuse in the wiring harness to prevent this from happening. Why would ford not want to change the scds switch that might be leaking instead?

Started vehicle & shifted into reverse when vehicle accelerated backwards suddenly. Had foot on brakes at the time.brakes failed to stop vehicle. Went through neighbor's garage. No injuries.

Power mirror switch failed, resulting in fire.

The wire inside the windshield motor shorted out, causing the windshield wipers to operate intermittently,resulting in poor visibility.

Wheel could have popped off while driving - 2 other complaints in nhtsa database match this one.

Rim on the right front wheelis cracking from the valve stem and continues around the rim. The truck was converted by starcraft. Starcraft has been notified about the problem.

Purchase truck new the whole tire with the rim came off on two occasions consumer was driving when this happened .tt
