I am trying to find out if this vehicle was used as a taxi/police vehicle and if any recall services were performed on it. Hyannis ford inc. Stated there were no recalls on this vehicle, but i saw many listed on this site, i have questions in regards to the suspension/airbags/torque converter, etc. Could you please tell me how i can find out if this vehicle has recalls on it and if i can get the work done. I had immediate problems with the vehicle when i bought it, and i don't think the dealer will give me straight answers. Thanks for any help or informationyou can give me.

Air bag deployment was violent during accident, causing injuries to both driver and passenger.*skd

Steering wheel is loose, feels like it could come. Air bag light is on, cruise controlnot working correctly. All these things are safety related and should be fixed. I think steering wheel should be repaired free of charge, since it's a major problem.

Air bag warning light remains illuminated, indicating a malfunction within the system.dealer replaced the clock spring within the steering column which has not corrected the problem.

Airbag did not inflate fully causing consumers chest to hit the steering wheel.the violent deployment of the airbag caused injury to the victims arm and also caused the seatbelt to cut her stomach.

Passenger air bag emitted burst of intesnse heat into glove box during deployment, melting plastic contents - concern arises because vehicle was a police cruiser with ammunition (none discharged during accident) stored in the glove box.

A sudden stop caused the a head-on collisionand the air bags deployed and consumer's wife lost her hearing.

Frontal collision, impact 12:00, speed 50 mph, passenger's air bag failed to deploy.

Frontal collision, impact 12:00, speed 50 mph, driver's air bag did not deploy .tt

While driving 35 mph on a straight road vehicle swerved to avoid hitting an object. The front tires collided with normal size cement curb, causing the air bag to deploy. Driver lost control, resulting in a clash.

Drivers airbag did not deploy upon impact; airbags deployed after officer existed vehicle; driver's shoulder/seat belt did not hold; hit a tractor trailer

Passengers airbag did not deploy upon impact; airbags deployed after officer existed vehicle; driver's shoulder/seat belt did not hold; hit a tractor trailer

The contact owns a 1995 ford crown victoria.while the vehicle was parked in the carport, the middle of the steering wheel melted from the air bag module inside of the steering wheel.as a result, the air bag is hanging from the steering wheel and there is a strong smell present from the air bag melting the steering wheel.the contact received a recall notice for the cruise control, however, the dealer and manufacturer stated that there were no recalls for this defect.the vehicle has not been repaired.the nhtsa campaign id number and powertrain were unknown.the failure and current mileages were 147,000.

The contact owns a 1995 ford crown victoria. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the cruise control failed. In addition, the horn failed. The vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the incident. The vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 08v051000 (vehicle speed control). The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.

Dt: contact states on 7-26-05 1995 crown victoria caught on fire.smoke and fire came from the hazard switch and the directional signal switches. On 1-16-04 signals would not work so she had a multi-functional switch put on.the covering on the steering column were destroyed and all of the wiring inside had to be replaced. The fire department. Was not called.

The alternator gauge, alternator and the window couldn't roll up, there is a popping noise in the front end .ttconsumer states the front end collapsed because of the dealerships reuse of a neoprene nut, also there is a popping noise in front end, fuel tank was replaced, alternator replaced, fuel guage on instrument panel replaced, rear passenger window would not roll all the way up, gas lid fills with water, replaced both arm bushings and correct toe end, cassette player does not work properly, and a malfunctioing head light switch.

Horn buttons difficult to access while driving without taking eyes off road.

Headlight lenses constantly turn yellow and cloudy, power window regulator cables constantly snap, excessive play in steering wheel, horn buttons too small and inconvienient and pop out at times, egr chamber always clogs every 40k miles and causes stalling condition.

Horn is not loud enough and the horn buton is to small and hard to find when needed. In 1996 i noticed the button was changed by ford,so they knew it was a problem too. I think it should be replaced with a 1996 stering wheel or horn buttom assembly and thehorn needs to be much louder.

Consumer can't locate the horn button to blow the horn.took vehicle to the dealer and they said it was a faulty design made by the manufacturer.

Design/location of the horn button causes difficulty accessing horn in emergency situations.

Size and location of horn button prevents easy access during emergency situations.*skd

Horn blew intermittently without anyone being in/around vehicle.*skd

Ford crown victoria has hesitated on numerous ocassions.

Replaced wiring assembly.

When it is raining outside (moist air /dew) when running the wipers for a period of time when you go to turn off the wipers they may stop in the center of the windsheild or all the way towards the outsideof the (a pillar) you then have to either attempt to turn the switch on and off fromhigh to low to off or low to off to attempt to retract them into there normal position

The front suspension ball joints were replaced at my cost. They had started squeakingand were worn badly. My mechanic suggests that the entire front suspension be rebuilt for safety because ford does not have grease joints on any these parts. When the horn button was pushed for longer than a few seconds, it used to blow the fuse. The last time it did this, it also disabled the cruise control. I was told by my mechanic the only fix was to replace the steering column where these wires were shorting together internally.

Recall # 95s24. Dealer does not have parts.tt

The vehicle started to burn from under the dashboard. It burned itself out. Please describe.

Ford crown victoria rusted oil pan and brake failure. Customer states the brakes failed while backing out of a parking space. The oil pan rusted and was removed and replaced on a maintenance service. Intermittent stalling.

Engine failed/stalled.

Car was hit head-on and fire broke out in the engine compartment.

Engine failed to start after several repair attempts.

While driving down the interstate, i noticed a noise and strange feeling in the steering wheel.it felt like the car's engine had shut off.i pulled over, but the car was still running.however, the alternator light was on and there was no response from the power steering.upon examination, the serpentine belt had come off due to an apparent seizure of the tensioner pulley.it had melted and fallen off.the heat was great enough to leave drops of molten aluminum on the shroud underneath and the pulley itself was melted into it as well.my whole family was in the car at the time and we beleive that under other driving conditions or circumstances this could have caused a deadly crash.thank you for your time, lemuel justice.

Catalytic converter odor.

My engine checklight keeps going on.we have changed the pfe sensor, installed new egr sensor, and installed a new egr selenoid, along with changing the second sensor.still the "check engine" light goes on.i knowwhenthe light goes on because i can feel in wheni excelerate. Now i will be bring it to the mechanic for the 5 time next week.this egr has something to do with the air pollution, and it also effects my gas mileage.thank you for your time.

I own a vehicle driven by law enforcement. To date nothing has been done for the single owner. Is this saying we are not going to have a similar condition occur?? attourny general sent a letter to the ford people. As yet no decision has been made. Is the public to assume that another person has to loselife in order for this problem to be resolved.

Four aluminum rivets that hold my hood to the latch striker plate broke causing the hood to fly up and break windshield and blinding driver, recall component on heavier suspension models, vehicle denied due to suspension design.

The hood came up and blinded me on the freeway at 60mph. I beleive i am lucky to be alive and not injured.nhtsa campaign id number: 97v024000, describes what happened to my car.i believe the same hood latch striker defect exists on 1995 crown victoria's without the police option, but it just takes longer to show up.this defect showed up on my car with 96625 miles of mostly freeway driving.i suspect in time many other standard 1995 crown victoria's will be having this problem.the four aluminium rivets that hold the hood striker plate to the hood fatigued with the stress of freeway driving, and came out when i was traveling 60mph on the freeway, releasing the hood which came up and smashed my windshield and blinded me.i am luck to be alive and not in injured.

While coming to a stop the emergency brake and the hydraulic brake went out and the owner could not stop the car.

First related symptom:few years ago brake lines rusted under the hood.original remedy: i have painted them to protect them from further rust.current issue:12/26/2008 brake light switched on during drive to work.12/26/2008 brake pedal got soft on the way back to home.12/27/2008 i have checked the brake fluid.it was low.i have bought and add more fluid (car was not moved this day).while fluid was added i started the engine and in park gear i have pumped the brake pedal.it remained soft.fluid got low again...there was a fluid on the pavement between rear axle and the fuel tank in the middle of the car.speed of break deterioration and speed at which car is loosing fluid might lead to an accident.this is definitely a safety issue.vehicle: crown victoria 1995, with abs and traction assist.break lines have corroded several years ago, now first has developed large leak.i will have to repair the car in the next few days, this is first time i will repair the lines.the vehicle has 130k miles.i have never seen other vehicle with such brake line corrosion.

Abs light sensor keeps coming on. Vehicle has been in/out of dealer's shop, and the condition would return within a day or as much as four days.dealer keeps charging consumer every time he brings the vehicle back.

The brake fluid in my 1995 ford crown victoria had to be topped off last week. The red brake light came on indicating the fluid was low. After filling the fluid and driving the car, the pedal felt a little on the soft side, but no light. On my way to work today, i was 2 miles from home and went to apply the brakes. I had no brakes whatsoever. The pedal did have some feel to it, but there was absolutely no brakes. Luckily, i veered off the road avoiding a collision with a car, and had to downshift the car to get it to slow down. After getting the car to 5 or so mph, i shifted into reverse to stop the car, then park. The red brake light never came on and i had no warning of the failed brakes. After inspection, i found both brake lines to be rusted out on the drivers side frame rail. All brake lines on the car were inspected and are extremely rusty. The car is inoperable and has not been repaired as of yet.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving the vehicle at 8 mph, the brake light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal. There were no brakes; the vehicle was driven home without any brakes. Upon inspection of the master cylinder the brake fluid was 3/4 empty.the vehicle was inspected further and the problem was the tubing that holds the brake fluid was corroded and cracked, causing the fluid to leak out.the manufacturer was alerted.updated 2/13/2006 -

Consumer applied brakes at 35 mph and the pedal went to the floor, no braking action. Mechanic (friesmill auto repair) determined that the rear brake line had ruptured.rear brake lines were repaired.*sccreferenced in rq03-004

While the vehicle was in the repair shop to have its tires rotated the mechanic informed and showed the consumer that all the metal brake lines were corroded, and needed to be replaced.

1995 crown victoria right rear brake line failed and resulted influid leakage because of corrosion on line and line fitting.(12/01/05)*sc

Brake line rusted through causing rear brakes to fail.the brake line piping should either be made of stainless steel, or coated with a rust preventative, or shielded in some way so water/snow/road salt can not get between it and the frame of the car, causing it to rust through.this isn't rocket science !!!!!!!!

Ford crown victoria rusted oil pan and brake failure. Customer states the brakes failed while backing out of a parking space. The oil pan rusted and was removed and replaced on a maintenance service. Updated 12/12/07 when the brakes failed, fluid was dripping from under the left/center body. I have a 1995 ford crown victoria with 83,000 miles on it. The control arm dropped and hit the road, causing loss of steering. Lucky for us we were going slow turning into a place of business, if we were going fast it could have been bad news. This car started a squeak on the front a little while ago, i guess it had something to do with it. I have noticed alot of 90's and some 2000's model fords have this same squeak. I contacted ford, and they said there was no recall on my model, i told them there should be.

1.i had just backed out of a parking spot, finished turning the car around to face forward and began approaching exit out of parking lot.i estimate speed at the moment of failure was less than five (5) mph.it is very fortunate that i was not going faster or i could have lost control of the crown vic, been killed, or killed someone else.as i began to approach the exit, i heard a sound of metal dragging on the street.i thought i accidentally ran over a metal shopping cart or someone on a bicycle.this is the type of metallic, dragging sound i heard.2.right-front wheel fell off of car whileapproaching exit.i looked under my car just after the incident occurred, within approximately one or two minutes as it was then disabled in the lot.i observed ball joint had popped out.3.ford replaced the following parts: arm asy fmc xw1z 3078 ba, kit-ste fmc f8az 3050 aa, joint asy fmcf7az 3049 aa, link fmc* f6az 5k484 aa, shield fmc* f5az 2k004 a, kit-sho fmc f8az 18124 ha, link spo* f6az 5k484 aa.i do not personally have any of the old parts that were replaced, perhaps ford does.

1995 crown victoria had a blow out on the expressway at 55 mph at about midnight after picking up our grandson from the airport don't know for sure if ball joint broke first or tire did my husband managed to get the car to the side of the road without hitting any thing. This happened may 24th 2009 the other ball joint just broke today august 16 2010car was going about 5mph when it happened today. What are the odds this was just a coincidences or this was a defect in manufacturing someone could have been killed. We were lucky.

Lower left control arm replaced. (2nd vehicle on 511309)

While driving the right lower control arm fell off the vehicle.

Both lower control arms of this vehicle have failed and require replacement for safety. Ford sates they have recalled 1997-1999 fords for the same defect and are unsure about extending the sefect recall to 1995. Ford admits that both arms should not fail or need replacement.

Severe front end noise is caused by the lower arms and the steering is off. Rubber booty is torn and the front end makes loud "pop" when steering to the left or right turns. This problem has been with the car since purchased and has been to the dealer on 3 occasions were they say there is no problem. I had a garage look at it and they informed me that the ball joints and or thr arms needed to be replaced. The dealership tells me that there is no problem. My warranty ends soon and am wondering if there are other complaints like this.

First of all i am not sure of the month we bought the car but it was in 1996. This is what happened.my daughter was over at the oregon coast andhad just pulled out of a parking lot when the left front lower ball joint came apart and the front wheel collapsed inward.luckily no one was injured and there was no body damaged.i called the dealership to find out if there was a recall notice for the vehicle.they said that there was not.on your web site i found two (2) recalls summarys: nhtsa campaign id numbers :98v322000 and 96v135000.these deal with the lower control arm ball joints and the pitman arms on the 1995 ford crown victoria. I asked the dealers in newport, or. And junction city, or and they claimed no knowledge of either one.in addition i was given an number for the main customer service office for ford back east.they didn't acknowledge the recalls either.both dealers i talked to suggested replacing all four of the ball joints (upper and lower) which i did.it cost $561.63.i had a towing bill of $142.00 and a cab bill of $57.75.i asked the dealer to be reimbursed at least of the repair and towing bills.they refused.if my daughter had been driving along at 55 mph and the ball joint came apart she could have been killed.if i had been driving the car and it came apart, i could have been killed. I have talked to several mechanics and they claim that this shouldn't have happened given the year of the car and miles driven. I feel that ford motor company should pay the repair bill at least.if this happened to me, it could happen to other owners of the 1995 crown victoria's, and it seems to have already since you have recalls summarys concerning them.
