Driver's side heated seat went out; dealer says will cost $600 to replace/repair. Passenger side still works. This is one of the reasons we bought this vehicle. We have been long-time ford drivers -- buying new -- but may never buy a ford again.

On numerous occasions the car has accelerated when at a full stop, at a light in the drive thru at the bank, at a red light. It did this the first time i test drove it and i was told it was normal by the wanner ford dealership? it is not normal! yesterday june 4, 2016- i went to pick up something and i was backing out of a parking spot, slow all of a sudden it took off in reverse even with my foot on the break it continued for a few seconds almost like someone had their foot on the gas which i did not, i was pressing the brake for dear life, i hit my mouth on the steering wheel actually hurting my front tooth. This has gotten very dangerous and it a problem. I have a heart condition, i in no way want to be injured again or god forbid hit someone. This is a dangerous car!! and was sold to me by ford under false pretenses and lies when i asked about the problem!!!! i contacted ford for over 3 years and they never respond!!

The contact owns a 2007 ford 500. While the vehicle was stopped and the brake pedal was depressed, the rpms increased and the engine revved when the brake pedal was released. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Vehicle surges when you let off the brake.this started shortly after we purchased the car a couple years ago.they either serviced or replaced the throttle body and that worked for about 6 months or so.now the car shakes really bad anytime we have to stop and have to keep foot on the brake really hard, sometimes the car dies during this too as well as going from reverse to drive.as soon as you let off the brake the car accelerates, can make it up to almost 40 mph without even touching the gas.it runs horribly in the heat too.any temp over 70 it jerks into 2 or 3rd gear hard when stopping and going.

The contact owns a 2007 ford 500. While driving approximately 40-50 mph, the vehicle lost power. The vehicle restarted, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed. The mechanic recommended that the throttle body be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

After the last stunt of getting injured i was reluctant to take the car out, however i had a vet emergency with my pet which i have documents to prove appointment. The office is less then 5 miles away, as soon as i came to a stop assign the car accelerated into oncoming traffic then stahlled today??? this car is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!! im going to wind up getting killed in this car, its my only car, i purchased it under good faith, its just getting worse and worse? ford refuses to contact me back!!!!!!!!!!

When the car is stopped or coming out of a stop or parking situation the vehicle lurches forward.(or backward)i keep my foot firmly placed on the brake to keep from hitting other vehicles.i had the part cleaned in may of 2013 for free because of recall and now, the car is acting up again.the dealership is telling me it will cost me $800 to repair!

Noticed on a road trip that ac was not cooling well, very little out of passenger side vents. Took it in to dealer we purchased from at 52,000 miles; they say compressor is "going out" and also says hose is leaking. Said repair will cost $1,600.apparently from online forums this has been an ongoing issue with the 500's ac systems, even with lower mileage. Is not under warranty and ford's customer care hotline (800-392-3673) personnel said there was not recall, no warranty or customer service program to address this needed repair. We are long-time ford owners but will seriously consider never buying another one ever.

Cluster panel goes dark, affecting ability to see speed and defroster's ability to clear windows.

On a warm day the vehicle stalled unexpectedly three times while driving in town and once on the freeway i was able to get the vehicle restarted, but was nearly rear-ended on the freeway stall. We were able to drive the car home later in the evening when the outside temperature dropped..

While we were on a road trip in 2011 the vehicle lost power in small-city driving traffic and came to a complete stop; luckily we could steer it right to a parking lot. We reset fuel pump sensor on passenger floorboard area and it restarted. We had it looked at with our dealer (whom we had purchased car from), who told us it was the fuel pump "going out." we declined to repair it there (since vehicle was still starting, his analysis did not make sense). On another road trip a few months later, the vehicle suddenly stopped again after we had paid a toll and were resuming speed. We had to be towed. Fortunately, the ford dealer in stillwater, ok, bypassed the sensor and the vehicle immediately started, so it was not ever the fuel pump.sensor replaced and stillwater ford got us on the road to the wedding we were headed to. Vehicle runs fine on that level now but we have had two other major issues. Lewis ford in fayetteville, ar is incompetent in diagnosing issues or is intentionally gauging its customers.

The contact owns a 2007 ford 500. While driving at approximately 35 mph, the service warning indicator illuminated and the engine stalled. The vehicle was able to restart. Whenever i put the car into drive or reverse, the car jerks very violently. I have to keep my foot on the brake when i am shifting into drive or reverse in fear of jerking and hitting someone or another car. It launching forward too. I have taken it to capital ford before and they told me it is nothing wrong but i am not a fool something is definitely wrong. I have spoken to other people who have 500's and they have told me they experienced the same exact issue.

We experience the doors opening light coming on saying doors are a jar. Rpms rev up in the car will pull forward at a stop. Passenger seat belt will open. Transmission will show slowing in shifting gears. The ac will experience shutting off during hot temperature no cool air will flow through vents.

Input shaft bearing failed leading to total transmission failure which resulted in a nearly 4 month wait for ford to deliver a remanufactured transmission to the local ford dealer and at a cost of over $6,600. Only indication prior to failure was a slight whining from front of car .. Dealer diagnosed problem.i am submitting information for my daughter/ owner [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Just bought this car- on several occasions, have put car into gear, reverse or forward, there is a hesitation and then a lurch forward/reverse. If i did not have my foot on the brake, would have gone into my garage cabinets this is dangerous and should be corrected. Also, poor acceleration and loud.

When car is at a low rate of speed, pulling into parking space and correcting steering wheel car lunges forward! without foot being on gas pedal!!the same goes for reverse there is a extreme surge when the steering wheel is turned sharply to back up! once again foot is not on gas! if i don't have foot on brake there would have been numerous accidents in both situations ! what i have noticed is this only happens when the air conditioner is on. I have looked at other complaints on here and there seems to be at least one ore person who has the same issue!

Car starts surging when stopped at a light or when idle.rpm's jump up and down to one and below.if foot is not on the brake all the way car wants to lunge forward.even when letting off the brake to go forward you have to be careful that the car in front is far enough away.under previous recall ford cleaned the throttle body and it did not change a thing.this has been going on since july 2015.

At low speed, wile trying to park the car it will suddenly surge making parking risky even when my foot is on the brake. I almost hit another car several times. A valet once told me "you better get that car fixed" when i shift from park to reverse it sometimes acts like the rpm's increase without my pushing on the gas pedal.

Vehicle was stationary at a traffic signal and rear ended by another automobile which pushed it into the stopped vehicle in front. The drivers seat collapsed backward to a horizontal position in the accident leaving me laying down in the seat. My neck and legs were injured in the accident.

We went on vacation for 15 days and left our vehicle in the driveway.when we came home and drove it the brakes made a horrible noise. I took it back to the ford dealer where they had been totally replace 2000 miles earlier and found out that the brake shoes had rusted to the rotors and when i drove the car they broke loose and pitted each other. For over $700 ford redid the brakes.i found out that ford changed the brake pad design for this vehicle to include iron in them.....therefore this problem will occur with all fords with this design change.i filed a complaint with ford and they said ...."no warentee issue or recall issue....therefore not help to me.....".they even suggested i write to you.clearly a design flaw in my estimation!what do you think?how many ford vehicles now have this flaw?

The bolt that attaches the bottom of the left front wheel assembly to the suspension worked loose.it did not fall off, but the nut was easily turned by hand.we noticed this because on a right turn the car would sometimes decide to turn sharper.had the bolt fallen out it could have been fatal.i was driving a twisting mountain road at the time i noticed.crossing the center line and hitting opposing traffic could have been the outcome.this car has neverbeen in an accident or hit a curb or anything.other than this, it's been a great car.

While driving on a fresh snowy road at a low rate of speed i suddenly lost control of my vehicle almost crashing into several oncoming cars and finally turning 360 degrees and slamming into a parked car with the passenger side of my car.after the police came and left i attempted to drive the car and found it was difficult to impossible to control.i parked the car and when i came back with my husband the next day we found the traction control light on which meant the function was off after looking at the manual we found that you would almost never want to disengage this but the button is just above the cup holder where it could be easily touched.when we got the car back a month later we found that the light was still on and they later found that the traction control system had malfunctioned which caused my accident which could have been fatal.

The car surges when i take it out of park (reverse or drive).it also surges when slowing down or when i have the brakes on.a little old asian lady cussed me out one day because she was behind my car when i put it in reverse and it surged.i didn't hit her but it really scarred the heck out of her.it happens all the time.154,000 miles
