The contact owns a 2004 emergency one fire truck.the contact stated that he had to constantly replace the brake pads and rotors to prevent the service brake system from failing.on two occasions, a fire occurred in the brake system.a mechanic inspected the brakes and concluded that the pads were overheating, which eventually caused them to crack.the mechanic also stated that the way the pads were seated (metal rubbing against the pads and rotors) caused them to wear prematurely.the contact has copies of the repair history for the service brake assembly.the manufacturer would not assist nor will they send a technician to inspect the vehicle.the fire station in which he is employed owns four of the 2004 emergency one fire trucks.all of them are exhibiting the same failure.the failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 15,000.
