Problems electrically, shutting off while driving along and at idle. Some lights come on, but not all, doesn't always shut off, but has a major loss of power, then comes back, other times it shuts off and takes a few tries to come back on. *nlmproblem is worse when it is wet outside.has been checked for fuel injection and other problems. Have been told it is electrical and have been advised to make contact about possible defect.

Stalling occurred five times over 4.5 years time; dealer was unable to duplicate.the computer registerd no event; independent computer analysis turned up no problems.dealer replaced several sensors and components over the time but never ultimately corrected the problem.chrysler provided no assistance and no satisfaction.correspondence and phone calls with chrysler have been treated with condesention, derision and arrogance.car was returned to dealer in september and we purchased another vehicle for our own safety.car is still in circulation and chrysler does not seem to care.

Every year since i purchased this car new i 've had a/c failure. The evaporator was replaced , the condenser was replaced, the blend door was replaced, the compressor was replaced some twice. The last two summers i suffered through becaused the extended warranty had expired at 75,ooo miles and i refuse to continue to pay for something that the factory should fix once and for all.
For 5 years i've had problems with a/c in my. From leaky freon to parts replacement. The a/c has gone out again i haven't had a/c since 1997. I've inquired of others with same vehicle and find that they too are having a/c problems.

I had a recall performed on the vehicle last year at martin dodge in bowling green, ky. After getting the services rendered on the vehicle i noticed several problems. Onewas thatturn signals were no longer operable, andautomatic transmission would not shift past second gear and would miss gears repeatedly, also,abs brakefailed.in addition,my suspension was worse after they performed suspension recalls. I have tried on several occasions to contact the dealership , and they only suggested that i bring it in for a diagnostic at my cost, even though the problems existed after getting the recalls fixed. Long story short, i incurred court cost of $166.00 because of improper equipment and the buy, here, pay here lot is requesting $2,280 for a car that i had no choice but to junk out because of it not being able to pass inspection for the road. I would appreciate anything you can do to aid in me absorbing the cost of this situation.

Had parked vehicle in garage overnight. Noticed a gasoline smell. Called dealer & was informed vehicle passed warranty. Took vehicle in to a repair shop & had fuel injection tubes repaired. Was informed the front side of the crossover tube had a hole in it.consumer states that the fuel injector rail and springs were bad.
Vehicle wa swarming up in driveway when a strong smell was noticed inside/outside of vehicle. Upon inspection, gasoline wa sfound leaking from an area around fuel injector. The gasoline was spilling onto engine. To prevent a potential fire, engine was turnes off, and vehicle was taken to dealer for repairs.

Fuel leak at plastic fuel injector rail (seats fuel injector) which can result in possible engine fire.
The contact owns a 1994 eagle vision. The contact stated that fuel fumes were emitting into the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed fuel leaking onto the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact replaced the fuel regulator, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 98v184000 (fuel system, gasoline:fuel injection system). The failure mileage was unknown.
When owner raised hood he was unable to get it closed and latched. He notes that he had to drive to dealerwith hood unlatched,dealer replaced cable.

Failure on the emergency parking brake lever,when used the emergency parking brakelever slips to the floor. Consumer states when parking brake was engaged, vehicle rolled backwards without any brake resistance, to release the brake you must depress pedal even further to unlatch, however it was tight to the floor, consumer moved the vehicle to a level area and goot out to retract pedal by his hand, after two or three times of slipping to floor it started to work again, consumer did report this to dealer but has not had a chance to get there.

While traveling at 70mph with 2 passengers in car on a raining evening, the transmission had a catastrophic failure that locked it into "limp mode".the transmission downshifted from overdrive to 2nd gear at 70 mph on a wet highway.luckily no accident resulted in this case.chrysler was contacted and told us they will do nothing because it was past their warranty.we had a second transmission installed in the car, it failed after 15300 miles.this failure also occured on the highway, luckily at a much lower rate of speed while on the on ramp.we have talked to other people who have had their transmission fail on them on the same platform of car and also, your (nhtsa) database shows numerous problems/failures with the same exact platform transmission at much lower mileages.just for a note, there are several major system problems as pointed out by your database and other sources.these include air conditionin system, fuel rail system, strut system, transmission system, controll arm system and airbag system.it is painfully obvious that the manufacturer, chrysler, released a dangerously unsafe and substandard product to the public and should be held liable.do lives really have to be lost in order for a complaint to be considered valid?i would like a copy of this report if that is at all possible, it may be included in legal actions.thank you.sincerely, sam hiss.
As i was pulling out of a parking space my front right transmission half-shaft pulled out from the transaxle.

Torque converter and front pump have failed which would not allow the vehicle to shift out of 2nd gear. Dealer had to rebuilt transmission.

The contact owns a 1994 chrysler vision.in 2003, chrysler issued a voluntary recall for the seat assembly.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they claimed to have inspected the recall.on october 28, 2008, while driving 65 mph, the front driver's seat bracket failed and caused the backrest to fall backwards.she pulled over and returned the seat to the proper position.the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and they stated that the failure was not due to the recall, but rather wear and tear.a report was filed with the manufacturer and they investigated the failure.the manufacturer's investigation confirmed that the failure was not caused by the recall.the failure was due to the age of the vehicle; therefore, they would not assist with the repair.the vehicle has not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were 70,165.
Driver's seat loose due to defect.
Driver's seat broke and flew backwards while driving at 55 mph.*mrwhile driving 55 mph the power seat broke which caused the seat to collapse onto the rear seat.no injuries were sustained .the seat has not been repaired.the frontal passenger airbag cover has begun to raise up from the dashboard.*nlm
Driver's side bucket seat back broke resulting in seat back resting on rear passenger seat and throwing driver toward rear of vehicle.bolts holding the seat in place were broken off, (sheared), as reported by repairman.repairman states that bolts and seat frame totally failed due to poor welds and small seat bolts.
The front drivers seat gave out, while driving.. The seat went all the way down.1994 eagle vision. Almost lost control,, luckily was traveling only 25-30 mph in the city and not on a highway.the recline mechanism, is totally broken. The car is not drivable, it is friday and will have to wait till monday to call dealership.

Steering knuckle had to be replaced on driver's side. Consumer believedvehicle had a defective part because of low mileages, 50,000 mile of wear; dealer notified.
Inner tie rod bushing failed at firewall during acceleration. Engine torque to front end steering caused vehicle to swerve with little control to driver at time of bushing failure.
Outer tie rod had to be replaced prematurely due to defect in part. Vehicle only have 51,000 miles of wear. Dealer notified.

My father in laws 1994 eagle vision had complete steering failure only moments after my 16 year old son arrived home. Thankfully no one was hurt. I have just found out that this is a very common problem for eagle and intrepid models. It happened only yesterday and i have not had time to repair the car but the problem is in the steering assembly. The tie rod ends have sheared off and completely disabled the steering. Had this happened a few minutes sooner my son would have been on one of the most congested roads in our area and it could have been a disaster.

I own a 1994 eagle vision and have been in to the dealers and other repair shops about my steering problem since 1997.many told me that my problem was struts, but when they were replaced, the problem still existed.finally, the last shop that i went into (firestone) told me that it was my rack & pinion system that is failing.they informed me that the whole rack is shifting from side to side and it has excessive play in it.while driving it feels like the whole vehicle is about to collapse to the ground.my steering and ride is horrible!!!
The car was being backed up and it made a very loud noise. Upon investigation the weld for the right engine cradle/control arm had came apart. This caused the rack and pinion to come apart and all bearings and bushings and grease to come out onto the ground. The car would not move and had to be towed on a flat bed to the dealer from which it was purchased. The dealer will repair it, but at a cost to him and not me since i had only purchased the car two weeks before. I do not know if the car will be correct when i get it back from being fixed.
The bolts which held the steering links to the rack and pinion sheared off while driving. This resulted in lost of steering power, which almost resulted in an accident. The manufacturer and dealership has been contacted.

The streeing rack bushing fail prematurely leading to excessive play in the front steering linkages.this bushing wear is suspected to lead to compounded failure of the inner tie rod ends and maybe the transmission mounts.the first sign is cold weather front end squeeking sounds from the rubber rack bushings.when they fail enough to allow enough foward and back play, the tie rod ends are subjected to excessive stress and fail prematurely.i question that this excessive foward/rearward play allows excessive stress to the motor and transmission mounts with subsquent failure of these parts. Additionally, a couple of mechanics have told me that they see these problems with this vechicle every week. Thanks tom brown

Since i purchased the car in 1994, i have had persistent problems with the alignment.i took it back to the dealer about a week later and told them that the steering wheel was off center. They told me that was normal for that car.i have had several alignments done, rotated tires, it seems that the car cannot hold an alignment at all.the dealer changed two tires one year for me because the tires on the car were damaged so badly. This was several years ago, however, the problem still persists.
On wet pavementsand intermittently on dry pavements steering wheel will pull, resulting in unstable steering. The dealer has aligned the vehicle three times.
The car was being backed up and it made a very loud noise. Upon investigation the weld for the right engine cradle/control arm had came apart. This caused the rack and pinion to come apart and all bearings and bushings and grease to come out onto the ground. The car would not move and had to be towed on a flat bed to the dealer from which it was purchased. The dealer will repair it, but at a cost to him and not me since i had only purchased the car two weeks before. I do not know if the car will be correct when i get it back from being fixed.
1-put 1994 eagle vision into reverse to get out of driveway at my home. On turning wheel to left into street, car started violently shaking, would not move, and making this loud thick noise. Car is not exactly in middle of street.in fear of terrible sound, turned car off, thinking that may help what ever is the problem (didn't have any idea what to do). Concerned about being in the smack dab middle of street and being hit, turned car back on, in 'park' is ok, when i shift into any 'moving geari.e rev, drive, oor 3) it starts making noise, shaking again, car is lurching like it is in a earthquake. Turned off. I thought if i could turn it on,put in neutral and roll tocurb,i could get out of the street. As soon as i get to a 'rev', before neutral, starts the shaking, noise, etc. I go to neutral, it won't move. I am 126 lbs, alone, but my thought was to push it to start rolling to curb, won't budge, wheel against well. I get back in, put in park, turn off. Walked around, noticed the passr front tire against wheel well. Tried turn wheel, sharp left, it wouldn'trespond,wheel straight was hitting wheel well piece which was why the wheel would not turn. I call a tow truck to move the car. Tow truck driver arrives i tell him what happened, show the wheel position, stuck to wheel well.tow truck driver car said he saw control arm was torn/broken/apart from frame of car. Car towed back into driveway until husband arrived and discussed.2-lower control arm is torn away from sub frame. Consequences, disrupted traffic, possible loss of control, injury to self, injury to others, death if car went out of control at high speed or on busy street or in intersection.3-in progress. Car towed to dealer 09/14/04. 9/14/04 dealer says looks like sub frame cracked, asked if in a accident. No. Dealer says he called chrsyler, chrysler says don't do anything they want to have zone rep. Look at it, and will let me know how to proceed. 9/15/04 did not hear from dealer at all, no messages.

I had a recall performed on the vehicle last year at martin dodge in bowling green, ky. After getting the services rendered on the vehicle i noticed several problems. Onewas thatturn signals were no longer operable, andautomatic transmission would not shift past second gear and would miss gears repeatedly, also,abs brakefailed.in addition,my suspension was worse after they performed suspension recalls. I have tried on several occasions to contact the dealership , and they only suggested that i bring it in for a diagnostic at my cost, even though the problems existed after getting the recalls fixed. Long story short, i incurred court cost of $166.00 because of improper equipment and the buy, here, pay here lot is requesting $2,280 for a car that i had no choice but to junk out because of it not being able to pass inspection for the road. I would appreciate anything you can do to aid in me absorbing the cost of this situation.

While drivinghit a bump, and uponacceleratingvehicle moved from side to side,not beingable to hold the road.took it to local mechanic, and was told that the bushing on the driver's side upper tie rod was blown out.
Rear links, from rear end to body bracket, upper bolt galls in sleeve and breaks causing rear end to move.attached to the links are the abs sensor cables leading to the computer.when bolts snap, torque from the rear causes the links to move freely up and down. With this movement it also puts unusual strain on the abs cables.
