Air bag failure in 1993 eagle vision tsi.after full frontal impact with guardrail that probably should have deployed airbags, the airbag warning light was on but airbags had failed to deploy.occupant was bruised by seatbelt but otherwise uninjured.
Whileconsumerwas driving on the highwayair bag deployed, and broke her left hand.
Daughter driving, weather rainy, pavement slick, slid into guardrail head on, air bag did not deploy upon impact, towed to auto yard, insurance adjuster looking into it, have police report.
Traveling at 30-35mph , had a frontal collision, neither air bags deployed on impact, driver received injury to abdomen and back.
While driving airbags suddenly and unexpectedly deployed, resulting in minor injuries.dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

The engine cuts off for a few seconds while driving at high speeds (60 mph).the vehicle lurches as a result.luckily, the engine starts up again without needing to crank and the vehicle proceeds.on one occasion, when driving at slower speed (25 mph), the vehicle stalled.i lost the power steering, and had to stop and restart the ignition using the key.
Computer's electrical system malfunction caused the horn to blow inadvertently and door locks to unlock and trunk lid to open by themselves.engine can be either started or off.

The car is fairly new and we take very good care of the vehicle, since we have owned the car we have put 6,098 dollars into it, it would seem to me that when you buy a car for 12,000 dollars it should run very well for at least 5 years. Thank you ed russell. No safety defect mentione din summary.

Air conditioner o rings had to be replaced because ofleakage.tt
Had to replace water pump twice, transmission was a big problem for a while, also spark plug wires had to be replaced, caused car to perform very poorly

A/c system failure, the condenser had to be replaced. Condensor developed a leak and had to be replaced for h.v.ac system to work properly.
Fuel injection failed, emitted odor. Also air conditioner malfunctioned/transmission failure.
Front brakes squeak and grind due to the design. This is the third replacement. Consumer stats front brakes were replaced by dealer under warranty, at about 20,000miles they started squealing and pulsating when applied dealer would not repair, so consumer took vehicle to a local mechanic, at about 5,000 miles later they started squealing again, local mechanic replaced them but the brakes continued to squeal and also vibrate under frim pressure, consumer also experienced electrical problems , the heater.defroster shorted out, the power window switch for the driver's side window was replaced once and has shorted out again, the a/c condensor fan has shorted out, and also had to replace a vacuum valve int he a/c there is a ad rattle in the front stabilizer bars.
Transmission failure.
Headlight assemblies on both sides ofvehicle are allowing moisture in.thisis causingheadlights to fog up, and is preventing proper performance of this system. Dealership has not examined vehicle.please provide any additional information/attachments.
Headlights do not provide adequate illumination on the road while driving, especially during wet rainy weather, impairs driver's vision, headlights adjusted few times by dealer.

Driver took vehicle in after receiving recall letter 98v130 concerning fuel injection o-ring leak.driver was smelling gas inside vehicle.upon picking up vehicle two days later, vehicle stalled, and was hit by another car.white smoke and gas were pouring out of exhaust. Towed to a mechanic. Mechanic stated that vehicle could have caught on fire. Also, dealer may have pinched a gas line during the recall, and that caused stalling and gas shooting out. Consumer stated it is not a gas line that may not have been pinched, but maybe the o-ring, when the vehicle was taken to the mechanic, consumer was informed that the vehicle was out of gas and the problem was the intake gasket, oxygen inserts, egr valve and plugs, consumer stated that the vehicle contained gas, the mechanic informed consumer that the gas gauge was wrong, consumer states the vehicle was running fine until the recall was performed.

Recall nhtsa# 98v184000.fuel injection delivery system can leak fuel from some of the sealing o-rings or from hair line cracks in the thermostat fuel injection rail. The consumers vehicle had the same problem. Dealer notified.the dealership stated that the car was not in good condition to drive. The consumer wants to get this safety problem taken care of as soon as possible.
Fuel injection delivery system is leaking fuel from both sides of the sealing "o" ring, or hair lines which cracked and the fuel is coming out of the rails.recall should cover both sides, since both sides need to be repaired to be safe from fire..

Recall 98v130000//787; smelled gasoline , found a leak, o-rings were worn out and leaking gas over the motor. Fire started. Consumer stopped the fire with very minimum damage. Dealer contacted, and repair work was done by the consumer at consumer expense.
Fuel rails spraying gas onto engine. The fuel rails were a national recall last year. Ourfuel rails were replaced by firkins chrysler plymouth. Since that time we replaced the engine with another1993 eagel vision engine. The fuel rails began spraying gas on the engine in a large stream. Firkins states they are not responsible for replacing the rails since they replaced them once. I do not understand why chrysler is not reponsible for a defective part that is the orginal part that came on the engine and is on recall. Please assist me in this issue, we were charged $310.69 for a part that was defective from chrysler and clearly documented by the national recall. Thank you.

Amendment to nhtsa odi complaint number 10066149. Fuelrail/injection system fuel line o-ring leak. Reference nhtsa 98v184000/chrysler recall 790.1) 1 incident of recall notice and attempted recall service.after recall service performed on march 18 1999 there were 2 incidents of fuel rail/o-ring leak confirmed as follows: 2) right (passenger) side fuel rail cracked and leaked (october 17 2002)3) left (driver) side fuel inlet line o-ring failed and leaked (april 13 2004). Customer was made to pay for repairs of 3rd incident for $583.00 to replace entire fuel rail assembly chrysler part number 5015231aa.inspection of parts returned to customer show that fuel inlet o-ring is defective (hardened and shrunken) and is black in color (recall replacement o-ring is supposed to be blue in color).it has been confirmed that 2nd incident of fuel leak was due to recall service repair of march 18 1999 not properly performed as fuel inlet o-ring was never replaced (village motors chelsea mi-mechanic mistake). It should also be noted that recall service procedure to "reinforce right (passenger) side fuel rail did not prevent fuel leak incident of october 17 2002.customer is seeking reimbursement for $583.00 from chrysler due toimproper recall service of defective o-ring.nhtsa assistance would be appreciated.
Campaigns 98v184000 and 98v130000 concern fuel leakage on the 1993 eagle vision.on may 13, 1999 the o rings were replaced on my eagle by the previous owner.on march 31, 2000, after purchasing the car i had to take my care in to a garage due to the strong smell of gasoline.the repair shop found a gas leak.they replaced the fuel rail gasket which cost a total of $214.02.i believe the cause of this problem was caused by the leakage of the o rings.the replacement of the fuel rail gasket should be covered under campaign no.98v130000.i am requesting reimbursement for the $214.02.also, i would like to know if there is anything alse i should do to make the car safer such as having the engine fuel rail replaced, which it appears wasn't done when the o rings were replaced by the previous owner.

Dealer indicates entire passngr pwr seat track ass'y must be replaced to correct loose seat problem & properly resecure seat @ approx cost of $900. Failure due to plastic glide rails cracked/broke, resulting in excessive movement of seat due to the loss of proper tolerances that glide rails maintain within upper(inner) to lower(outer) seat track rails. Plastic weak - glide rails not available as separate replacement part (s) from manufacturer.
Drivers seat support failed causing seat to fall back.

Consumer stats front brakes were replaced by dealer under warranty, at about 20,000miles they started squealing and pulsating when applied dealer would not repair, so consumer took vehicle to a local mechanic, at about 5,000 miles later they started squealing again, local mechanic replaced them but the brakes continued to squeal and also vibrate under frim pressure, consumer also experienced electrical problems , the heater.defroster shorted out, the power window switch for the driver's side window was replaced once and has shorted out again, the a/c condensor fan has shorted out, and also had to replace a vacuum valve int he a/c there is a ad rattle in the front stabilizer bars.

Power steering locks up while making turns, nearly caused an accident, no warning.
I bought this car in 1998 and have had to fix it myself many times. I cannot afford to pay someone to fix it. But if there has ever been a lemon it is this car. I have to say the motor is a good one. But every thing surrounding it is junk. At this time it is in my moms garage and i'm still making payments on it and can't even drive it. Right now it needs:1.) timing belt2.) wiring problem under dash-dome lights on all the time, a/c controls won't work properly. 3.) inner tie rods need replaced again-(4th time) 4.) spark plug wires go bad in about 12 months.(the good ones).5.) tires are going bad every 6 months because of tierods. 6,) parking brake cable broke. 7.) catalytic converter. 8.) fuel rail o-rings need replaced. When it was running it was constantly dying on me while driving and while idling, and finally the other day (after replaceing the coil pack and an ignition relay) it died and wouln't restart at all.........................what can or will you do about this lemon that i have had to constantly fix for the whole 4 years that i have owned the car//????????????????

I receivedrecall 99v215000 notice in feb 2000 for engine cradle failure..i contacted the local dealership and was told i was on a waiting list to fix the problem.at that time they needed a special tool to fix the defect.after checking many times the tool is still not available and nothing has been done to fix the defect.i have called the daimler/chryler customer assistance telephone line numerous times and always receive a busy signal.i tried calling your hotline but no representatives are ever available.in looking up the recall on your website i noticed a previous recall for a very dangerous defect in this particular engine in that the o-rings leak gas and can cause an engine fire.we received no notice of this recall.after six months of trying to contact the proper person to handle this problem i am very frustrated.please inform me of my options.

The body and frame problem is that when it snows, snow is found inside my vehicle on the front passenger side.this vehicle has not been in any accidents.what can i do besides going to a body and frame shop?the second problem is that the clear coat on the vehicle is coming off.i have gone to 3 paint shops.all three have told me it is caused by a defect in the clear coat and have told me i should contact the manufacture.who do i contact since eagle was bought out in regards to this problem.

Support bracket came loose for a second time.this bracket could easily puncture my fuel tank.i reported this to chrysler and they said that parts break on older cars and i should have purchase an extended warranty.i think this is a defect in design that could cause me problems later even if i get if fixed again.
For many years i have been baffeld with a clunking noise in the front end of my car. I have replaced the entire front. These are the parts i have replaced both lower control arms, both iner and outer tierods, both upper strut mounts/struts, stabilizer bar links, both driveshafts, both font wheel bearings. Upon closer inspection as a last resort looked at the rack and pinion unit and discovered that the crossmember that the rack and pinion unit is mounted to is moving when i turn the steering wheel to the left and the right. It's my greatast fear that the crossmember that the rack and pinion is mounted to will break away from the body of the car, resulting in a loss of steering causing a potential accident or worse a loss of life. The crossmember is the foundation point or platform where the rack and pinion is mounted to. This crossmember should be a reliable and safe mounting point for the life of the car.

Dt:consumer owns a 1993 eagle vision. Consumer received recall 99v215000 about a year ago concerning lower control arm. He took vehicle to dealer to get repairs done .dealer did notdo anything to vehicle and charged him $1020 for repairs.he took vehicle to another dealer on august3, 2005 because it started shaking again. They did not do any repairs. He contacted the manufacturer, and was told to take vehicle back to dealer.

Throttle body cracked.
Upon shifting from park to drive with foot applied to brake, engine suddenly surged, shot forward in garage, overpowering brakes, then shifted in reverse. Vehicle shot out of garage,hitting a flag pole.

Spot where automatic button is located to raise and close rear window is dangerous. A child was almost strangled by window when child's knee was pressed against button, and the child's head was out of the window.consumer tried to control window with driver's side control, finally child was instructed to move his/her knee off the controls, with some experimenting consumer found that window would not stop when the button is pressed and an object is in the window.
In all types of weather conditions the windows all around the vehicle fog up. Have to wipe the windows while driving to see the road.please describe details.
The consumer had an on going concern that every year when rotating the front tires, a broken stud has to be replaced. Dealer was contacted....not just when rotatin gtires. Nearly every time that fron ttires are removed, a stud breaks off. I m sure to inform the servic eprovider not to use an air wrench and to hand torque the lug nuts.
