This is a general comment that i hope will be given some consideration.my car and many others suffer from major headlight dimming caused by leakage and discoloration of the newer plastic covered headlamps.replacement is difficult and expensive, but the alternative is severely reduced visibility at night.as i have aged, i find reduced lighting to be a major issue in night time driving.the older "sealed beam" headlights were easily replaced if damaged - not so with the modular designs.the solution is not simple, but some accountability by the manufacturer or forced replacement at nominal cost to the car owner may be possible solutions.i'm sure you have many other issues to investigate, but believe me, any of your "older" employees driving mid-90's or older cars will confirm the problem, and simple math makes it a significant issue.

A recall is in effect for a driveshaft yoke/seal related to the transfer case of the vehicle.this defect causes the fluid to leak from the transfer case.which run on low amounts of fluid due to this leak, damage can occur to the transfer case mechanicals.all of this has been discussed with the nhtsa, chrysler, & mitsubishi.however, due to the subjective wording of the recall and lack of protocol(and dealer knowledge), there is nothing to obligate the dealerships to inspect or replace the transfer case under recall.i have a very substantial collection of information regarding this serious issue. Dealers are promoting budgets over safety.
Transmission failed in third gear only as i can tell since i cant get to fourth gear.also, door will open and rub fender, taking off the plastic mouldng and chipping the paint off.
Transmission failed.
The contact owns a 1992 eagle talon.the contact received a safety recall notice regarding the automatic transmission.she notified the dealer and they confirmed that her vin was included in the recall, however, they would not perform the repair.they stated that the vehicle was too old and was no longer a ford product.three weeks after she learned of the recall, the vehicle had 151,000 miles.while driving 5 mph, the contact heard a clunking noise and the rear engine locked up.the transfer case caused the engine to stall.the vehicle was towed to her residence and the dealer was notified.the dealer advised her to call chrysler, but they refused her claim.two weeks after speaking with chrysler, they referred her to another dealer.she went to the dealer and dropped off the vehicle, however, chrysler denied her claim and would not repair the vehicle.the vehicle is currently still at the dealer.the recall number was unknown.the current mileage was 151,000 and failure mileage was 150,000.

I own a 1992 eagle talon tsi awd. I have learned of a transfer case recall on this car. Mainly because mine just blew up. This car has already been in for the recall, but chrysler (dealership, hudson, wi 54016)has said to me that at the time there was no sign of a problem. There is now a problem. I called chrysler and they said it was up to the dealership weather or not to replace for free. I have been reading and have found places to say "the recall is for the lifetime of the car". Is this true? i would like a letter or something stating one way or the other that this recall is for the life of the car, because what if the problem isn't fixed the first time and i'm going 70, then my t-case decides to lock up cause all the oil leaked out, i'd be dead. I'm sort of mad at chrysler right now, but i would like to make sure my fact are straight about this being a "safety recall", and that it is for the "life time of the car". Thank you. *nlm
