Alternator (stator) failed 3x in 2000 miles of vehicle operation - causes battery to discharge and engine to stop abruptly - repaired by dealer each time, other associated parts replaced also still the defect remains. Certainly seems to be design defect!

I purchased a 1998 ducati st2 in may 2008 with 3946 miles on the odometer.i checked your site and found there was a recall notice for the fuel system hoses(99v048000).the original owner did not have any recall work performed.i made an appointment with my local ducati dealer to have the recall work done.their backlog was 6 weeks.the bike needed a new clutch so i took it to my local mechanic.while working on the bike he noticed it had drivable issues.he found the hoses inside the tank and those connecting to the fuel pump had literally disintegrated.pieces of the delaminated hose found their way into the fuel pump.had i been driving the bike, this could have led to the fire due to leaky hoses.now the hoses & fuel pump need replacement.i contacted the dealer who called the ducati rep to see if they would replace the hoses/fuel pump.the service manager gave up due to a lack of response.he told me to call the ducati rep which i did.i am not getting any response.i wanted to know if your recall covered the fuel pump as well as the hoses since the fuel pump malfunction was a direct result of the faulty hoses.i also contacted the nhsta because i have gotten no response from ducati.
