A recall was issued may 26, 2015 for the passenger side airbag to be replaced.according to dodge, "an inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupant(s)."a similar recall was issued february 10, 2016 for the driver side airbag.i'm very concerned that dodge has failed to address the passenger side airbag issue after nearly one year.i fear that there will be a similar delay on the driver side airbag.

"takata recall" - at this time nothing has happened.approximately 6-8 months ago we received notice of the recall.a couple of weeks ago i spoke with the service mgr. (kirk irvine) at jeep-chrysler of ontario regarding this recall.at that time we were notified that they were still awaiting parts to handle the recall.on 2/23/16 i spoke with william of nhtsa and was given a case number (10837780).on 3/2/16 i contacted with nick at at the chrysler recall assistance center and was told parts were not available.i then contacted nhtsa and was given the phone number to discuss having the airbag inflator removed or disengaged.i was given different criteria that this would be permissible.however, we don't seem to fall into any of these criteria.we live in so. Calif.we have a trip planned to several parts of texas in april of this year.but, with the safety issue of this vehicle (it is an rv converted by roadtrek), we don't feel safe driving it to texas or using it in any way here at home.based the fact that individuals have already lost their lives due to the part needed, i feel i should be able to have the device removed or disengaged at the manufacturers expense.i do not feel i am being unreasonable.i paid plenty of money for this vehicle and would like to feel safe when driving down the highway.a loner vehicle would be out of the question because it is an rv.of course, if chrysler or takata would like to pay for our airfare, rental car expense, etc. For texas, i would be happy to take them up on that.the bottom line is, i need this resolved by replacement parts installed or the defective parts removed.

Airbag recall, we have been told that the dealers can not get the parts to replace the defective air bag. We have been waiting for months and been told they will call us when part comes in. Still nothing and this is a fleet vehicle driven daily. How long does a recall replacement part usually take to get replaced?

Purchased car and cannot register car because of recall. I have called dodge and i am basically being told too bad and i have to wait. I have waited 2 months, the recall has been out for almost 6 months now. I am still being told that there is no part available or even made to fix this recall. I am not affected by the symptoms of the recall, i just can't register my car. Right now it's the worlds biggest paper weight.

I have been waiting over a year and parts are still not available.i would think a safety issue that puts my passengers at risk would be addressed in a more responsible manner.

Takata recall - i live in houston, tx, an area of high temperature and humidity.these are the areas that are more likely to have problems with the faulty air bags.i got my first recall notice in august of 2015 for the passenger air bag. Now, in april 2016, i get a recall notice for the driver's air bag.as of today, i still have not had the passenger air bag replaced! since i am in one of the areas most likely to have a problem with the air bags, one would think i would at least had the passenger's air bag replaced.i think i have waited much more than a reasonable time to have the passenger's air bag replaced. Can you do anything to speed up the process for my car repair?

Dodge sprinter 2500 converted to recreational vehicle by winnebago (2010 winnebago era).on may 11, 2018 after driving for ~4 hours, parked in campsite.immediately caught fire under driver's side floor in battery compartment.fire spread under dash, unable to extinguish with onboard fire extinguisher.fire department extinguished blaze after entire dash melted.

The esp dash light came on while leaving parking stall, the sprinter shifted hard down to first and would not shift. I turned the vehicle off and restarted now the vehicle was in high gear and would not shift driving on city street. I drove a short distance 1/2 mi. And turned the vehicle off, let it sit for a minute or so and restarted, the vehicle drove fine for a mile or so then the esp dash light came on again, no issues with shifting this time. The next day while driving on a residential street the esp light did not come on for a 1/4 mile when it did there was no shifting issue. I turned off the vehicle and restarted and the light did not come back on for several miles on city streets and one stop and restart at fuel station.

We purchased a 2008 dodge sprinter new in 2008.sprinter vans wereproduced when mercedes owned chrysler. These vans were imported by mercedes during this period because dodge did not have a van of its own.our complaint is that now that mercedes and dodge have split, dodge has told me that since dodge does not have a sprinter mechanic tech in montana (where we live) that they can not diagnose the problem and thus can not help with the problem-- thus effectively denying warranty coverage.i have taken the sprinter to a mercedes sprinter qualified repair show and they have diagnosed a faulty egr valve which does not allow the turbo to work thus greatly reducing power and potentially damaging the engine and exhaust.mercedes will naturally not honor dodge's warranty.there was a recall on this year egr valve however somehow we missed the recall and it has now ended however this should not effect our vehicle warranty.i have spoken twice to dodge's customer service center and have been told they can not help. I have e-mailed the center asking dodge to honor their warranty and received an e-automated response stating that dodge will respond within one working day however this has not happened and i have received no response in three days.

2008 dodge sprinter w/diesel engine has hesitation when accelerating.problem began after about 10000 miles of driving.because of the stalling when crossing intersections i've had several near collisions.also when accelerating from a stoplight i've almost had people rear end me.the problem was corrected when the egr valve was replaced due to soot build up.repairs were done under warranty.now the problem is starting again and the egr valve is going to have to be replaced again.there seems to be no pattern as to when the problem started again.problem always occurs at partial throttle, never full throttle.

Vehicle was parked in hospital parking lot for about 6 hours.left hospital and while trying to start vehicle the dashboard information center indicated a no start condition.the engine would not attempt to crank.thinking my key was faulty, i tried my wife's key.same result.no crank.dashboard displayed "start error".an attached device by garmin that reads the computer bus and communicates to the garmin gps had no illumination of it's communications established confidence light..since the vehicle was cold i activated the auxillary heater for warranty.my wife and i sat there for 15 minutes making phone calls and trying to get help.the cabin had warmed up some and i tried to start the vehicle again.i was successful.in trying to research this problem on the sprinter user forums, i found reference to a screem module having to do with vehicle security.other users attributed this condition to a "cold solder joint" in the module.replacing this module requires reprogramming the smart keys.a substantial cost.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge srpinter. The contact stated that the front driver's seat became extremely hot due to the heated seat feature. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the dealer stated that a conductor within the seat caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The contact later received a letter from the manufacturer stating that the failure was not a manufacturer's defect. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 41,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge sprinter 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the power steering would intermittently fail without warning. The vehicle would become increasingly difficult to control. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 89,000.

My sprinter developed a leak in the roof in 2011.water would collect in the oem roof mounted a/c unit, then leak into the cabin when i started to drive . The quantity of water that would flow through the unit back into the passenger cabin was approx 2-3 cups of water, depended on how much rain water accumulated.i had this repaired in sept 2012 by mercedes benz of chicago, for the cost of $1285.this was not under warranty.they said the seal was defective and was allowing water back into the cabin.most of the cost was for labor, the seal will eventually have to be replaced again, as the roof flexes causing it to eventually crack and break.this is an obvious manufacturing/engineering defect.

We have had both rear leaf springs fail on this vehicle in last 2 months. The centering pin on leaf spring shears off and axle shifts back to wheel well. This causes vehicle to track at askew on road. I feel this presents a major safety issue at freeway speeds. We have had the leaf fail on 2 of our five sprinters the other being a 2007 year. Other van has 120000 miles on it. We have never had this problem with other vans of different mfr.

Recalled tire, bf goodrich commercial t/a lt245/75r16, delaminated while i was driving 60 mph on a good surface, well maintained road. Luckily i maintained control and stopped on a wide paved shoulder. The dot number was be11jd115111.i was never informed in any manner of this recall from either the tire manufacturer or my local dealer. Both could have easily informed me, but did not. Why? my name, address, and phone number along with the dot number was on file with my local dealer.i checked with the owner of the business and was told he was not informed by bf goodrich.he did see the recall notice in a tire magazine but did not check his computer files as he did receive notice from bf goodrich. Had he received a recall notice, he would have checked his computer files. The known tire failurecould have caused my families death or serious injury.it did cause many thousands of dollars in damages to my vehicle. I would like to know why i was not informed. There certainly was negligence on the part of bf goodrich. There needs to be more diligence in pursuing owners of recalled tires or a better system put into place.
