I bought this van new in april 2006. The van came with an e.o.m. Roof a/c which is the cause for the vehicle stalling when decelerating. The first time this happened was about 2 months after we bought the van. I reported this incident to the dealership and was told that dodge was aware of it and would issue a recall as soon as it has a fix - it never did. The current odometer reading is 35,125 miles. The van was mostly driven short distances as i use it mainly to transport my wheelchair bound daughter to and from doctors and hospitals visits.time went by until it happened again. It appeared that the stalling, the engine suddenly shut off when the roof a/c is running while the engine is at a certain temperature.i contacted dodge which told me that my warranty had expired. It would cost approximately $1000 to install the "rear a/c idle cutout module". After doing some researches, i found out that there was a dodge service bulletin # 24-001-2009 dated april 24, 2009 with subject: idle instability - rear a/c idle cutout module installation. In my opinionthe stalling was caused by a design flaw which the manufacturer should fix regardless of the warranty time limit. Could you help us with this issue?

The contact owns a 2006 dodge sprinter 2500. The contact stated that when he attempted to use the vehicle, he noticed a fire had taken place in the cabin of the around the instrument panel. The contact called the manufacturer and an investigator was sent out to look at the vehicle. The contact was informedthat the failure was an isolated incident and they did not know what caused the fire. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure and current mileages were approximately 30,000.

Repeated electrical problems.headlights taillights etc.dealer states it is fuses & bulbs.vehicle checked by automotive electrician and fuses bulbs etc ok.possible defective wiring. Have made numerous (5) attempts to correct.relative also owns similar vehicle with same problems.

Emissions recall. Manufacturer fca totally unresponsive. Hours on phone. Dealers too cannot get response, vehicle computer shuts engine off on highway as engine detects problem. Truck can then be restarted usually. Fumes beginning. Europe suing manufacturer over this and epa may be.fca recall # is t21

On more than 1 occasion, my vehicle died out while traveling on expressways.in all instances, the engine stopped working. Fortunately nobody was injured.the vehicle needs an engine replacement again and has less than 69,000 miles on it.

Faulty turbo resonator on a motorhome dodge sprinter 2006 the problem with the power resonator is that the speed is suddenly reduced and other vehicle behind must brake or change is short notice due to the reduced speed form an average of 65 miles to 20 miles in no time because of the power failure.this condition happened to me e times in the last 2 years, finally i changed the plastic faulty resonator for an aftermarket straight aluminum resonator , but with this change now i have more noise in the cabin.

My dodge sprinter, 2006, winnebago's turbo resonator has failed on me twice, 11-5-2007 and 5-28-2010. The failure is fast and the sprinter goes down to 10 to 40 mph which is very dangerous!chrysler has replaced the resonator both times but obviously it will fail again!

I was driving on a relatively flat road and heard a pop noise from the engine area and the vehicle lost approximately 40 to 60% engine power, i was able to get it to my home less than 5 miles distance, i got it into a shop for repairs and they were not an authorized warranty repair shop, which cost me $404. I then had the vehicle towed to an authorized repair facility approximately 35 miles away.

2006 dodge sprinter 2500 t1 extended passenger approx. 23k miles, 2 years old, under chrysler full warranty1. Vehicle stops running altogether while in drive, total engine cut-out, battery light comes on upon slowing at an intersection, turning a corner at slow rate of speed.you can put van in neutral and immediately re-start it and it runs fine. 2.this tends to happen in the heat of the day with the rear a/c running full blast.this has been happening randomly for 10 months or more, but never in the winter when not running the a/c.there is no way to predict it.it happened twice last weekend, many times off and on before that.the van will tend to be "sluggish" sometimes in the same circumstances without dying.3.we have been trying to correct this failure since this spring.we have been to 2 separate dealerships, in and out several times at northwest dodge in houston, and in once for this issue at allen samuels dodge in katy, tx.the van has had full tune up, replace turbo resonator, checking of battery and alternator issue, checking all codes, checked for wire chafing in particular areas.all to no avail.the dealers cannot fix because they can't "duplicate" the issue.allen samuels tried very hard for 4 days, looked closely, listened to online sprinter board troubleshooting.the other dealership doesn't care and won't try. This issue is not resolved, nor do we know where to take it.it is a safety hazard to our family as this is a huge passenger vehicle that dies without notice.

August 22, 2010,i was on i 25 in my winnebago itasca navion traveling at 60 to 70 mph and suddenly lost power.i stopped, got more diesel and started driving at lower speeds by still lost power and could barely climb hills.i was just limping along with my emergency flashers on hoping i wouldn't be rearended. The model is 2006 with a mercedes/benz 5 cylinder turbo engine with 19,500 miles on it.this is really dangerous.is there a recall on this engine?

I was attempting to pass a big slow moving truck going uphill when my van suddenly lost power.another 18 wheeled truck was behind me also trying to pass the same slow moving truck which was on the right lane. The truck behind me had to slam on his brakes to avoid rear-ending me.i had to wait until the truck which i was attempting to pass, passed me so i could go back to the right lane causing irate motorists behind me and causing a lot of safety concerns.it was extremely dangerous and i was traveling with wife and two kids.

We bought a brand new 2006 dodge sprinter and the engine just blew at 115,000 miles. This is unheard of in diesel engines. The vehicle was plagued from the start and the dealership clearly admitted it was "cursed" and we should have got more than 115,000 miles out of it, yet no one wants to assume responsibility for the defects.

Resonator failed at 15,200 miles causing a dangerous situation.my sprinter was purchased from maxwell dodge in austin tx on my behalf by sportsmobile in austin who did an rv conversion on it.the nearest authorized dealer from myhome is moss brothers dodge in san bernardino cathey replaced the resonator on 9/18/09 with mileage at l5,308.with reports of multiple failures, including failures of a newer revision, i am concerned for my safety and others.my van is used exclusively for camping, usually in remote mountain areas with narrow steep roads, often without guard rails which do not have areas to pull over or pass.this would endanger lives in the event of a resonator failure which makes the vehicle incapable of moving on an incline as well as dangerous on a freeway when it suddenly loses power.in my research i found an aluminum resonator which eliminates the problem.moss brothers dodge told me they have installed this resonator, however the customer has to provide it and sign a waiver because it does not have a filter.if a problem occurs with the turbo which is determined to be caused by particles that got through the system, it would not be covered by the warranty.please advise me on how to handle this dangerous situation. The contact owns a 2006 dodge sprinter 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle would independently decelerate from any speed without warning. The dealer replaced the turbo resonator yet the failure persisted. The dealer also replaced the air filter to no avail. The dealer acknowledged that the vehicle was losing power abnormally but could not provide an adequate repair. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge sprinter.the contact stated that there was a fuel leak in the fuel filter.the failure caused diesel fuel to leak onto the engine and the ground.the dealer attempted to repair the vehicle, but was unsuccessful.the contact stated that if the fuel filter were changed with o-rings supplied with the filter, the failure would still occur.the water sensor was changed with o-rings, which were slightly different.the contact stated that without this sensor, any o-rings would not be sufficient enough to remedy the failure.the failure mileage was 36,000. Updated 06/02/08 the consumer stated dodge must know about the defect because the sensor comes with a slightly tighter o-ring that stops the leak. Updated 06/02/08

Turbo charger resonator failed x 2 vehicle to go no faster than 30 mph . This on a super highway is very dangerous.

Turbo charger resonator failed x 2 vehicle to go no faster than 30 mph . This on a super highway is very dangerous.

I own a 2006 dodge sprinter (it's actually a winnebago view motor home mounted on the dodge sprinter (mercedes sprinter) chassis.the sprinter has a plastic part known as a turbo resonator to dampen the whine of the turbocharger. This part has failed three times in a little over 20,000 miles.i'm now parked and waiting for a replacement part so that i can continue driving home from a vacation. I've decided to try to replace the part myself, rather than drive with limited power and speed to a dodge sprinter dealer about 100 miles away. Not all dodge dealers service sprinters. The part has always been replaced under warranty. But to my knowledge dodge and mercedes have not corrected the weakness in this part.it fails unpredictably. When this happens, there's an immediate loss of power and speed. This would be extremely dangerous on an interstate highway.leaving jekyll island, ga., on monday, i had to climb a steep grade to cross a bridge. I could only drive 30 mph. On flat highway,i could only run 50 to 60 mph on a highway with a posted speed of 65.from everything i read on sprinter forums, this is a common problem that has been going on for years. Please insist that dodge and mercedes correct this problem before lives are lost. Frankly, the problem is so commonly known among sprinter owners, i'm surprised there already hasn't been a recall.the incident date is only the latest saga. I'm guessing that i've had other failures at about 10,000 miles, 15,000 miles and now about 23,000 miles.

2006 dodge sprinter 2500 diesel. Passenger vehicle. Purchased brand-new in 2007. Approximately 34,000 miles. Vehicle went into limp mode 2 times. Would not go out of second gear. After shut down and restart vehicle ran normal. On numerous other occasions rpms would rise but vehicle didn't seem to be moving enough to warrant all that rev. As if transmission slipping.

Gear shifter was able to be moved from park to neutral without the keys in the ignition or the "bypass" switch being pressed. A 5 year old was able to move the shifter into neutral without key in the ignition or pressing the bypass button which allowed the vehicle to roll down a hill.

Sudden slow down due to lost of power on winnebage view/dodge sprinter.this has happened four times resulting in hazard to other drivers from sudden reduction in speed with no brake lights.three repairs made by dealers for same problem (turbin resonator) in 24,000 miles.the vehicle will continue to run but barely.the first incident was at 7,000 miles.the last at 24,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge sprinter 2500. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate. The vehicle was maneuvered to the shoulder and shut off. Upon restart, the vehicle operated as normal. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,500.

The seat belt retractor and srs lockup assembly in the 2006 dodge/ mercedessprinter van is prone to complete failure in hot climates. The return spring and lockup housing is made of plastic which becomes disfiguredand is rendered inoperable and therefore unsafe, leaving the front occupants unknowingly unprotected. Many owners have replaced srs retractors with aftermarket belts. Unsuspecting owners must be notified of this impending failure.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge sprinter 2500. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v833000 (service brakes); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Complaint for a 2006 dodge sprinter diesel (mercedes built) engine turbo resonator.this part has failed and been replaced three times since 2006. It fails without warning resulting in a sharp and unsafe drop in uphill speed, particularly in interstate and mountainous travel.

Vehicle was recalled for an emission control devise issue.i phoned the dodge dealer where i had my van serviced a few times to schedule the recall work.the service manager said they no longer service the 2006dodge/mercedes sprinters.i went ahead and had my vehicle smog tested. It passed.i mailed my registration and payment. This is not a safety issue.my vehicle passed the strict ca smog requirements. There is no reason to recall my van or hold up my registration as an "incomplete renewal".

The left drivers side electric window has a broken piece of nylon/plastic that is about 11/2" x 1/2", that is held in place by a rivet that appears to look like a nail head on the metal window regulator arm. This flimsy plastic part broke into two pieces which allows the arm of the window regulator to pop out of the track below the window, and the window falls down and stays open.when this happens it creates noise, allowsbad weather to enter the vehicle, and creates a very distracting situation for driving, especially on the interstate highway system.there is no fix for this small part only a new regulator with the same flimsy piece of plastic. The window regulator costs between $219 and $224 plus tax and shipping.the cost to install it is another 200+ dollars. This regulator suffers from poor design and should not break on a vehicle (rv) that is not used like personal transportation vehicle.my window opened slowly at 70mph on the freeway.
