Chrysler customer relations was notified that the air bag did not deploy upon a frontal impact and agreed to send a special investigations crew to look at the vehicle. There conclusion was that the impact was not in the direct center of the vehicle and that the air bag system still showed to be functional and ready.none of the people who have seen this vehicle could believe that the air bag did not deploy, especially with the damaged incurred! this includes the insurance claims adjuster and the body shop who repaired the vehicle ! in my opinion this is false advertisement by the vehicle manufacturer that states the air bag will deploy in a frontal impact over 20 mph. It doesnt state that the impact has to be dead center of the vehicle !

Consumer feels that since it is a safety defect recall done by manufacturer and not by the consumer, dealer must honor it. Because of dealer'srefusal, consumer must travel into another town to the next closet dealer,which is 35 miles one way.work has been performed.*ml

Dealer refuses to do recall 00v135000 repairs on ignition wiring because consumer had a security system installed, this was done at time of purchase at dealership.

There was an ignition fire, took vehicle to dealer, and dealer replaced ignition switch and other parts.afterwards whenstarting vehicle starter stayed engaged, and unable to shut off vehicle when turning key in off position. Consumer has taken vehicle to dealer but dealer could not duplicate the problem.

The ignition switch melted the plastic shroud under the steering column. The air conditioner was running when this occurred.the radio was on also.after this occurred,the radio no longer works right either. The dealer said there is a replacement switch,but did not cover it under the warranty.the dealer said they were having problems with the switch,that's why there was a new replacement switch.cost over $350, including installation.this does not include replacing the radio.they did not know why the radio went bad.the dealer was fred beans in doylestown, pa.the original ball joints and front axle were never greased at the factory.there are no grease fittings to add grease.the dealer would not cover it under warranty.the mechanic said he could tell that they were bone dry & never greased at the factory.

Vehicle was being used to plow snow.vehicle was moving forward at a very slow rate ( approx 1 mph) and vehicle erupted in flames.driver had to exit through a wall of flame and within less than a minute, cab was completely engulfed in fire.vehicle completely destroyed in less than five minutes.fire appeared to originate from beneath the cab,exact origin unknown.vehicle will be kept on the premises until we hear from you.our insurance adjuster has inspected the vehicle for insurance purposes but we have major safety concerns about this vehicle and would like to know what caused the fire.there was no service recently performed on the vehicle other than routine oil changes etc.the vehicle seemed to be running normally right up to the time that the vehicle caught fire.

While truck is idling or moving..if the horns are used , the fuse under the hood blows. This is also prevalent while the a/c is running. The a/c shuts down at this point, the compressor doesn't work until the fuse is replaced. The circiuit from the horns and the a/c are two different circuits under hood <relay box>cannot use the horns to alert others fuses keep blowing.safety issue will not pass nh state inspection this way.

Cylinder head's are cracked, causing truck to damage head gaskets. Overdrive on the truck went out so truck wouldn't shift.

Air condition works off and on the paint on the truck is blue .it has been coming off for some time .first in small areas and now longer. Looks like a bad sun burn.don't think it was done right at the manufactors.

The brakes have not been 100% since i purchased this vehicle.i took the vehicle to the dealer at41,000 miles and complained about low pedal .i was told that the pads and shoes were fine.at about 50,000 miles, the brake booster failed and the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer.squealing noise from under the hood was found to be the water pump.

Freeze plugs are leaking and after repairs they are still leaking. Was told by dealer that it was caused by sand left in the block after casting and the plugs are corroding. Last time in they put a stop leak in the system and it has slowed down the coolant consumption to about a pint every 3 months. I feel they have not corrected the problem but delayed it until there is a problem at a future date.

While driving, consumer discovered that crankshaft was misaligned and knockedbearings out of the rods. Dealer installed remanufactured engine in truck at 54,000 miles, the remanufactured engine had a knock in it from day one of installation, consumer took truck back to dealer, dealer replaced pan and bearings.

The oil light came on and oil pressure droppped to zero.the oil pump was replaced under warranty.then, on jan 21, 1999 the same scenario happened again.this time the oil pump, connecting rod,crankshaft and gaskets were replaced at my expense as the vehicle was no longer under warranty nor were the parts that had been replaced.finally, on february 14, 2000 the entire scenario took place again.the oil light came on and oil pressure dropped to zero.it appears that the oil pump will agin need to be replaced.at this point, the dealership is trying to say it is a lack of maintenance and should be repaired at my expense.my concern is that the vehicle has been maintained and that after 3 failures there is a definite problem with the vehicle.the vehicle is currently at the previously mentioned dealership awaiting repairs and the response from chrysler corp as to whether or not they will do so at their expense.any help you can provide would be greatly a

Outer ring of balancer came apart, causing water pump/water hose to break and blow out front left tire.

There are 2 extra pieces on camshaft on engine. No plate (lifter keeper). This causes the engine to sound/run like a diesel. Rockale assembly rods cut into camshaft, leaving 1/2 groove. Taken to dealer for repairs.the mechanic change oil &filter which was full of shaving 3 times but the engine not right..et.

Initial transmission problem started @ 38000 just out of warranty.dealer said they couldn't help. I never thought of contacting manufacturer. Trans. Diagnosis complete at 72500 mis, dealer say rebuild,r+r at 89300mis.brake mastercylinder lid was leaking causing insufficiet fluid level lead to pad and shoe failure.transmission failure led to lifter failure in the engine.trans would long shift putiing strain on engine causing a higher rev.ultimately weakening 2lifters.i am now hearing a noise and feelingjolts on the steering wheel turning left . Problem is unknown at this time.

The engine oil pan had burned due to a lack of oil. Vehicle had stopped running. Took to dealer. Mechanic had to replace old engine bearings with new engine bearings.

I am a mechanic and have talked to other mechanics about my problem. The motor in my truck is 3 years old and is rusting from the insideout. I am told that chrysler has had previous problems like this for many years. I know that many other people like me are having to fix there problems out of our own pockets. My problem is only fixed temporaly it can not be fixed. The next solution would be a new motor . I feel that this is a problem that chrysler should attend to.

Spent$1200 to rebuild entire front end of car due to excessive clunking and looseness after only 40,000 miles of lite street use. Factory installed componants obvoiusly inferior quality or defective. Dailmer chrysler was willing to assist in the costs of the repair until the bills came in. Daimler chrysler walked away from the issue. Rear window water leak - suggest other owners to look on passenger side for water ponding adjacent to sill plate at rear of seat. Rear factory sliding window defective. Must replace with alternate selection. Headliner will not fit properly on alternate selection - beware. Dodge ram owners beware. This owner jumping ship from dodge/chrysler products. Only owned this vehical for 11 months.

No compression in the #6 cylinder may have caused the vehicle to loose power when going up grades.

Within the first 1000 feet of driving engine is very sluggish, usually after vehicle has sat overnight.(qcaw)

Canister solenoid failure and sensor loose causing engine light to stay on.

After trying to change foward oxygen sensor four times i find out i have 1995 sensors in my 1996 truck. The connectors on the 1996 sensors for the forward and aft oxygen sensors are opposite on 1995. How many other componets on this wiring harness will be affected? a 1996 forward sensor lists for $75.00 while a 1995 sensor lists for $130.00.

While the truck was parked it caught on fire near exhaust pipe. Owner had just driven truck about 3/4 of a mile. Owner was able to put out the fire. The dealer was notified about the fire. The truck has not been repaired.

Consumer called manufacturer in reference torecall # 97v084000. Recall only involved v10 engines, not diesel engines.therefore, this vehicle wasnot included due to vin., andexhaust pipe located on the other side of transmission. Even though dealer refused to perform the recall, they still recommended that the upgrade be performed at the owner's expense. *ml

Engine completely fell apart and was replaced by northe star dodge in san antonio.air conditioner has relay problems. Transmission found to have clutch pieces in it by independant used car tester.all windows and doors have air leaks and rain leaks.vehicle leaks water up throught he floor board when driving in rain.vehicle also shudders dramatically when going over 40 mph. Carberator has choke problems and is hard to start.most if not all of these problems were reported to dodge within 10,000 miles of purchase but due to stalling techiches by fiesta dodge nothing has ever been remedied.

My main complaint is the transmission.the pressure seal for second gear has been replaced 3 times. It lasts for about 30,000 miles and then goes.i've had to pay for the repair 2 out of 3 times.approx 1400.00.. The last time i had parts put in that were not chrysler products.

The air conditioner was running when this occurred.the radio was on also.after this occurred,the radio no longer works right either. The dealer said there is a replacement switch,but did not cover it under the warranty.the dealer said they were having problems with the switch,that's why there was a new replacement switch.cost over $350, including installation.this does not include replacing the radio.they did not know why the radio went bad.the dealer was fred beans in doylestown, pa.the original ball joints and front axle were never greased at the factory.there are no grease fittings to add grease.the dealer would not cover it under warranty.the mechanic said he could tell that they were bone dry & never greased at the factory.

Dt:consumer states:the headlight switch keeps burning up in his 1996 dodge ram truck.it is burning the wire harness that goes to the headlight switch.it could go out at any time. He had it replaced about 3-4 months ago and it is out again. He has talked to the dealer and they have made a special wire harness to splice into the wiring on the truck.they have had a lot of problems with this same thing. The dealer said chrysler was aware of the problem.he can be going down the road, and the lights will just go out.you can park it for a while, when you come back to start the car and switch on the headlights the headlights will not work. The last time he had it replaced, the wiring had melted the insulation.

Spent$1200 to rebuild entire front end of car due to excessive clunking and looseness after only 40,000 miles of lite street use. Factory installed componants obvoiusly inferior quality or defective. Dailmer chrysler was willing to assist in the costs of the repair until the bills came in. Daimler chrysler walked away from the issue. Rear window water leak - suggest other owners to look on passenger side for water ponding adjacent to sill plate at rear of seat. Rear factory sliding window defective. Must replace with alternate selection. Headliner will not fit properly on alternate selection - beware. Dodge ram owners beware. This owner jumping ship from dodge/chrysler products. Only owned this vehical for 11 months.

And the fact that dealer personnel (mechanic) said they've seen this before but have had no problems with replacement switches.no response from dodge.called 1-800 number 06/26/01 and was told there was only one message in file, customer service rep (derek) would not acknowledge 2nd msg inspite of fact i have automated response confirmation of receipt on 6/11/01.derek? said if its part of a recall, i am contacting the wrong department and if its not part of recall, "its a five year old truck, its customer responsibility".there is a recall (#819) on dodge ram 3500 for exactly the failure i experienced (eg overheat headlamp switch can cause fire and or cause sudden loss of headlights...).cust omer service rep (derek) refused to discuss further...its a customer responsibility..help

The truck smelled of fuel and gradually became difficult to start.although the smell of diesel fuelis common with these trucks it was gradually covering the underside and the back of the truck with diesel mist.a very difficult inspection determined that the fuel return hose was leaking large amounts of fuel but a split or crack could not be found.when i inquired to the dealer, the mechanic knew right away what it was but suggested that i do the replacement myself since it was not difficult but very time consuming which would be very expensive..a section of new hose was obtained and the old piece replaced.the original hose had totally come apart and in many places the reinforcing cord was easily visible. After the replacement the truck again started easily and the fuel leakage was eliminated.i believe i have retained the section of hose if needed.in talking with the dealer (oyster point dodge in newport news, virginia) the problem is not uncommon with these dodge trucks but since the owners are advised to do the replacement, the dealers are not required to report the problem.

While driving the truck applied the brakes and the abs brakes failed. On 4-3-98, driver applied the brakes and the entire brake system went out,leaving the driver with no brakes. And rough vibration in the front end even after a tire change and balance, and front end alignment... Gas milage is 230 miles to a 26 gallon tank of gas( dot number: tire size: p225/75r16 )

Was driving on e-way going 70 miles per hour which is the speed limit when hood flew up and smashed into windshield the hood has not been open since nov. 21st ,2000 when i had the oil changed and this happened on feb. 1st, 2001 there was no indication that the hood had been released and when we pulled on the release lever inside truck the latch under the hood does not move there are no broken parts on the latch either.

Paint is coming off in huge spots. Starts as a small faded area then starts peeling. Transmission stalls in second gear and takes a while to shift to third.

Driving up hill, stopped at top of hill and started again. Noticed transmission would not shift out of first gear, pulled over to side observed transmission fluid leaking from disconnected lines, recall 97v084000 does not relate to the deisels vehicles

We experienced a complete transmission failure and had to be towed.the dealer had to replace the transmission with a factory rebuilt unit because this transmission is no longer manufactured.we can only assume this is because the transmission was under designed and not suitable for use in this truck.we feel that the entire cost of the repair and replacement should be borne by the vehicle manufacturer.

Vehicle will lose power when going up a hill. Dealer has rebuilt transmission, but defect has reoccurred.

The automatic transmission failed the first time when it was under warranty at about 20,000 miles.the dealer said that a forward seal had been "rolled" when it was installed at the factory.the transmission was taken out and the seal replaced.the exact same problem occurred again at about 70,000 miles.symptoms:when starting out with the engine cold, the transmission will not upshift past second gear.the engine speed will not affect the change, only warming the engine by driving approximately two miles will cause the transmission to operate normally.however, even during warmed driving, the problem returns intermittently, which causes the vehicle to slow down considerably and has caused problems with traffic on freeway systems where higher speed is required.top speed during this problem is 35 mph.

This is the second time we've had the transmission replaced. Once at 43,832 miles, now at 71,750 miles. Almost caused an accident when we pulled into traffic and the transmission slipped out of gear.

I was not able to enter the vin # here it is: [xxx]. I was traveling @ 75 mph in the fast lane of interstate 95 in heavy traffic. Felt sudden loss of power & decline of speed, narrowly escaped major accident. Found that transmission lost 5th gear. Researched and found manufacturer published service bulletin (#21-10-98a) sept. 98. I was never made aware of this known problem. Dodge does not consider this a safety concern - i wish they were in the vehicle when this happened instead of my two sons & i.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The transmission failed at 31, 700 mi. It required a major overhaul to return it to operation. Labor costs were $1100 dollars and parts $800. After discussions with the dealer the labor charges were paid by the dealer. Investigation into continuing problems with dodge ram transmissions prompted owner to call chrysler 800 number to complain about $800 payment. Owner was told that since the $800 was paid, no refund could be provided. Owner was told that this determination was final and no appeal to higher authority was possible. Rear axle recently started making an audible gear whine/moan when going any speed. The truck has 68,000 miles currently. I have accounts of other people that have owned '96 ram 1500 trucks that have had similar, if not the same problem that i have experienced. Suspension failure, the rear axle broke while driving, causing loss of control.

The vehicle had just been repaired by sandusky chrysler dealership, sandusky, oh, for the previous axle failure. Traveling east on the ohio turnpike, the vehicle suddenly slowed, like someone just jammed-on my brakes. Within a minute, there were two very loud screetches. My wife, traveling in a rental vehicle behind me, even hear the screetches. Given our previous experience, i immediately stopped at the side of the road. While trying to see what happened, we were informed by construction crews that we could not stay, there, on the side of the highway. They directed us a couple miles up the road, to the next exit. Once off the highway, we stopped to find the driver's side rear wheel sticking out from the fender by a couple inches. On closer inspection, there was smoke coming from between the wheel and the backing plate. The wheel assembly was starting to separate from the axle housing, again. We called for a tow truck, to return the vehicle to the repairing dealership. Upon their inspection, the wheel bearings were again burned. And, yes, the wheel assembly and axle shaft were leaving the vehicle.

The tire, rim, brake drum and axle shaft separated from the axle housing. The assembly wedged under vehicle. When it popped out, it flew up and landed directly in front of another vehicle. When the assembly separated, apparently the other (remaining) drive wheel became disconnected from the engine; our exhaust brake could not slow us down. Additionally, the brakes were spongy, and apparently not working. We slid to a stop on what remained of the axle housing. When we exited the vehicle, there was a flame shooting from the end of the axle housing, where the axle shaft would normally be. This flame was approx. 1.5-2 feet from the fuel filler tube. Immediately prior to the accident, there was a very loud screetch sound. Within a minute, the wheel assembly came apart.after repairs were made, the same axle problems reappeared.

There are two recalls for this problems #828 & #838.they do not include the 1996 two wheel drive, the clutch hydraulic is the same and we had the same problems.they fixed it at 98,000 miles and the same thing happened 15,000 miles later.their fix did not fix the problem.they installed a shield but the plastic clutch line runs next to the shield and touches.plastic next to metal melts and the line burst causing or can cause a fire.they will not fix it again.the recall also need to be expanded..

The seat belts in the rear cab of the truck have failed. They do not lock when the two pieces are attached. I can put the latch in and it will not stay locked. It unsnapps and the children cannot use the belts. These are located in the middle and passanger side of the truck in the rear. This is a safety concern and would like to have it checked out.

While driving on interstate 75 (with the cruise control set)the driver side seat back broke completly off of the seat bottom causing me to fall backward into the rear of the vehicle and momentarily lose control of the vehicle. Diagnosis complete at 72500 mis, dealer say rebuild,r+r at 89300mis.brake mastercylinder lid was leaking causing insufficiet fluid level lead to pad and shoe failure.transmission failure led to lifter failure in the engine.trans would long shift putiing strain on engine causing a higher rev.ultimately weakening 2lifters.i am now hearing a noise and feelingjolts on the steering wheel turning left . The abs and the brake light illuminated.the vehicle brakes even when not in motion.the service writer says consumers vehicle needs a cabs computer module. The front rotors needed replacing because of what the dealer claims to be pitting. A friend in formed consumer that it was because of air bubbles in the casting when the rotors were made.*jg

Vehicle's abs braking system has extreme premature wear and tear,had pads/rotors and other parts changed 9 times.

Took vehicle to dealer and he said that the rear brakes are not working that's why the front brake need to have brake rotors and pads replacedevery 10-1200 miles. Vehicle went through 3 sets of front pads. The non-functioning rear brakes,causing front brakes to work harder.

Consumer states the rubber vacuum fitting on line between pump and brake booster dislodged vacuum, oil fumes reacted to rubber and became unstable, this occurred after recall, all fittings have been replaced with better rubber fittings.

The vehicle vacuum system became contaminated with oil.this effected the vehicle's hav system, brake booster and deteriorated all the vacuum hoses which caused the brakes to fail intermittently. *pha recall was initiated for this problem but the consumer's vehicle was not included due to vin.the dealer recommended that the consumer install an external brake booster check valve and hose, replace vent and defroster actuator.the customer declined the repairs.

Recall work done on the abs check valve, however loss of brakes and problems with system after recall work..

During vehicle operation at 5 mph, the brackets which hold the steering column disconnected, causing it to come apart. Consumer states the steering column fell in his lap and the bolts hit his feet.

Consumer's brother was driving 55-70 mph on state hwy 72 when steering made a full circle then a clicking noise, the passenger said that they then realized that steering wheel had locked up following loss of control. The truck then flipped over back end over front then rolled over on side,loosing both left wheels, brakes/drums/pads and tires. The driver was thrown from truck after the 2nd flip forward, he was revived on scene, thenlater died in flight to hospital. Passenger survived with minor upper body injuries.

Steering gear box has to be replaced again by an independent repair shop.

Intermittently vehicle would shake/ wobble while driving at approx. 40 or more mph once it started it continued until speed come down to 25 mph. Vehicle been in / out of repair shop on four occasions, and condition remained unresolved. Manufacturer notified and informed consumer that a correction can be made. When replacing ball joints on front end, replactment ball joints may not fit properly in upper or lower control arms, parts department told me to weld the ball joint to the control arms.

Loud clunking noise and sensation in steering linkage while braking and turning corners. Dealer had same problem with another ram pickup. Dealer replaced upper and lower ball joints. Fixed problem. However, after additional 10,000 miles problem is re-occurring. Also, three of original five tires had defects including significant bulging and ply separation. Resulted in poor traction, excelerated wear, and bouncing. Owner replaced two tires. When third tire failed, owner replaced all the tires. Dealer stated they receive many tire complaints from new vehicle owners with goodyear tires.( dot number: tire size: p245 75r16 )

1996 dodge ram left rear tire came off of vehicle while driving.

I carry a heavy camper, although in spec for the tires, about 25% of the time.two tires failed by tread separation at about 13000 miles, no more than 5000 miles loaded.i paid for replacements.there was lots of tread left.two more had failed by about 25000 miles, with about 5000 miles of loaded operation.these miles were at greatly reduced speed because of fear of failure.again i replaced the tires, they were not given to me.goodyear says the truck is at fault, dodge says the tires are bad.no one laughed out loud.in all cases the tires had lots of tread left and the failure was delamination around the tread area.the tires did not lose air and therefore no accident vehicle damage resulted.i went thru the customer arbitration board at dodge, claiming they selected inappropriate tires, to no avail.a concensus of tire people was that the engine had too much torque for the tires even though no overloaded.i became concerned that, since no assurances were given that the problem would not recur, the next failure might produce a accident.i threw away 4 virtually new tires and replaced them with cooper tires at my own expense.good tire wear and no problems have been encountered with the cooper tires in almost 20000 miles.i would be happy to provide more information if requested. Front right tire separated at 65mph almost causing a major accident and possible death. Dealer was notified at 2,410 mileage about front end vibration/shimmy. No cause found. Vibration in front end reported numerous times to dealer without problem being found since it continued. Was told "normal ride" for truck. Truck experienced numerous problems with front end suspension, rattles in dash from vibration, steering column excessive play etc, etc, etc. Remaining tires show signs of bluging and cracking. Tire was defective from begining in my opinion and put me at risk! dealer rebalanced/rotated tires many times and simply concluded the vibration/shimmy was normal for truck and stated i might have a better ride when loaded. Loud clunking noise and sensation in steering linkage while braking and turning corners. Dealer had same problem with another ram pickup. Dealer replaced upper and lower ball joints. Fixed problem. However, after additional 10,000 miles problem is re-occurring. Also, three of original five tires had defects including significant bulging and ply separation. Resulted in poor traction, excelerated wear, and bouncing. Owner replaced two tires. When third tire failed, owner replaced all the tires. Goodyear dealer found 2nd tire with bubble in tread area. They refused to prorate but did give me $10.00 discount on each of two replacement tires. They tried to keep defective tire but after a big argument let me keep tire so my insurance adjuster could take pictures of it. I still have tire. While driving at approximately 65 mphleft rear tire tread peeled off, but the tire is still inflated, causing approximately $1700 worth of damage to the rearend panel.there were three incidents of tire tread separation while traveling.one of them came of the vehicle and struck another vehicle causing no damage.the tire incident caused a significant damage to this vehicle and the customer wants reimbursment for repair cost.

Radial tread separated from tire. This part of the tire damaged the left rear quarter panel and wheel well. Wrapped around rear axil. Goodyear claimed it was due to underinflated tires. Trailor hitch has broken off. Consumer claimed it was same defect as mentioned inrecall 00v107000.but, this vehicle was not included due to vin.

Gauge indicator failed.

Original failure took place on nov 26, 1997. The oil light came on and oil pressure droppped to zero.the oil pump was replaced under warranty.then, on jan 21, 1999 the same scenario happened again.this time the oil pump, connecting rod,crankshaft and gaskets were replaced at my expense as the vehicle was no longer under warranty nor were the parts that had been replaced.finally, on february 14, 2000 the entire scenario took place again.the oil light came on and oil pressure dropped to zero.it appears that the oil pump will agin need to be replaced.at this point, the dealership is trying to say it is a lack of maintenance and should be repaired at my expense.my concern is that the vehicle has been maintained and that after 3 failures there is a definite problem with the vehicle.the vehicle is currently at the previously mentioned dealership awaiting repairs and the response from chrysler corp as to whether or not they will do so at their expense.any help you can provide would be greatly a

Paint is coming off in huge spots. Starts as a small faded area then starts peeling. Transmission stalls in second gear and takes a while to shift to third.

Consumer was sent a recall notice (01v037000) for the throttle sticking on the vehicle.consumer made an appointment under the assurance the parts would be in.they were not in so they were ordered.consumer brought vehicle back and the repair was completed.the vehicle now idles high and the throttle is worse.consumer oiled the linkages and the problem was better.consumer brought vehicle back to the repair shop and was informed the throttle rod was bad and would cost for replacement.consumer feels no charge should accompany the added work because the recall failed to remedy the problem.*jg

Shifted from park to reverse.engine idled fast, truck took off in reverse and could not be stopped by pressing on the brake.speed probably accelerated to 20 mph before hit 3 other vehicles.witnesses said the rear tires were spinning and the engine noise was high pitched and oscillating.

On january 26, 2001 during an inspection, i noticed several frayed strands on the accelerator cable where it emerges from the sheath near the injector pump.i bought a new cable that same day and noticed it is of a different design than the original.if there was enough of a problem to cause a redesign of the part, it seems dc corp. Should have notified the owners.with the powerful torque of this engine, this is a definate safety concern as it would be hard to bring it to a stop should the cable fail at highway speeds.

Recall 01 v 037 000/throttle cable: dealer / manufactureris telling consumer that this recall does not exist; asking nhtsa help in this matter.

While driving on the freeway and towing a trailer the throttle linkage jammed all the way on. I had to turn the ignition off to stop. The throttle cable had become frayed inside of a sheath on the linkage cable and jammed inside the sheath.

Shifted into reverse, vehicle surged about fifty feet. Hit car and tree dual air bags did not deploy.

The throttle cable failed, causing abs and brake lights to be illuminated, also caused cruise control to hunt, consumer tapped to disengage cruise control and the accelerator stuck.

Airbag light came on after being hit on back end of vehicle.dealer found internal wiring problem, airbag sensor had to replaced.

Front brakes wearing out prematurely because rear brakes are not self adjusting. Very unsafe when braking at higher speeds. The left rear axle seal was leaking.water collects near the passenger door underneath the carpet.

Spent$1200 to rebuild entire front end of car due to excessive clunking and looseness after only 40,000 miles of lite street use. Factory installed componants obvoiusly inferior quality or defective. Dailmer chrysler was willing to assist in the costs of the repair until the bills came in. Daimler chrysler walked away from the issue. Rear window water leak - suggest other owners to look on passenger side for water ponding adjacent to sill plate at rear of seat. Rear factory sliding window defective. Must replace with alternate selection. Headliner will not fit properly on alternate selection - beware. Dodge ram owners beware. This owner jumping ship from dodge/chrysler products. Only owned this vehical for 11 months.

A/c motor fan worked intermittently.also,passenger's side window doesn't come down.

When traveling at speeds higher than 55, the two rearview mirrors on both sides of vehicle will gradually turn inward and consumer can't see whats behind him.also,wind moves windows inward.

When the tires have to be rotated & the lugs: nuts need to be removed. Theywould break off. Contacted dealer & was informed the lugs: nuts were torqued too tight. Not using a 4 way wrench to torque lugs: nuts.

Wheel lug bolts broke, on the left front tire while driving.

Rear driver's side wheel rim cracked in half, causing the tire to blowout while driving which could have caused a crash.
