Saterday feb 12, 2005 was driving to visit family member about 9:30 - 10:00 amwhen dash board displayed "check gauges" i noticed oil gauge dropped down andengine started making noise i pulled over checked oil stick made oil in it. I called the dodge service dept i was told to bring in. That monday i brote in to dealer.i received a call saying that it was metal in the engine and the bearings was blackand it needed a engine and it would cost about $5100.00. My pressure went up.

During the past five years i have had the belts, on my 2000 dodge caravan, replaced, six times. Four of those times the van had to be towed. The van only has 29,000 miles. Since it is a "handicapped" van it makes the situation even more serious.

The contact owns a 2000 dodge ram van. While attempting to place the vehicle into the park position, the vehicle independently shifted into the reverse position without warning. In addition, the ignition key failed to disengage from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v555000 (power train). The failure mileage was 140,432. Updated 06/29/16*ljupdated 06/30/16.

This discription is for the undercarrige: the van keeps squeeking when you go over bumps, the dealer saids that the rubber gouments between the frame and the body were not supportive enough for all the weight of the van and the weight of all the passengers. I'm a single parent with kids and i do not have the money to replace all the rubber grouments between the frame and the body that the repair shop suggest i do or i can just keep paying them to lube them. As for the transmission thats another story apparently all my internal seals are leaking and it is causing the transmission to slip. For a brand new 2000 dodge van this is ridiculous. They want between $3500 and $5000 to replace. I've e mailed dodge concerning these problems and of course no response from them. Like it goes in one ear and out the other to say. This will defintly be the last dodge i will ever look at again because for this being my ever first new car i've ever own i've been very disappointed with them. And i've talked to other dodge owners and they say the same thing transmission problems rubber seals and lights.

When traveling up a hillvehicle will start to downshift by itself, but this usually happens at 60 mph or above.

The contact owns a 2000 dodge ram van. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but only the front brakes functioned. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The brake warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the computer needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000. The vin was not available.

Year 2000 dodge ram van driver side front brake line rubs on chassisand eventually ruptures under hard stopping condition. Has happened to two yr 2000 dodge ram vans in our fleet, one a 1500 model, one a 2500 model. Interesting the replacement brake lines we purchased had a different bend to clear the chassis but no recall has been issued.

In march 03- had just bought the van and had to return to chrysler dealer to have passenger side rotor and bearing set replaced.mileage only 30,700.now in february 05- just had both sides of bearings replaced along with driver side rotor with mileage only at 67,800.

2000 dodge full size vani believe that the small and crowded floorcaused me to have an accident. I was in a drive-through line.when i went to move ahead my foot covered both the brake and accelerator.the harder i pressed on the brake the faster the vehicle went.the vehicle became uncontrollable for a while and i hit the vehicle in front of me.

Urgent safety issue:driving down the road vehicle loses complete steer ability!!!had towed to dealership and found frame rusted through (due to factory routing of a/c water drainage) and caused steering mechanism to separate where the steering connection is!!!dealership is not acknowledging a recall nor resolution and based on the number of these vehicles still on the road (now primarily as low budget work vans) i fully expect to see injury and deaths if this is not addressed immediately!!!i have done all i know to do (including searching the web where i see multiple alerts to similar incidents) so any injury or death due to further inaction is on the conscious of the recipient of this urgent warning!!!!!!!!!!!

The frame horns {left and right} developed cracks on all four sides ahead of the front wheels leading to the detachment of the steering arm and stabilizer bar resulting in little to no control of the vehicle.while the detachment is not fully complete it only through the extremely weakened connections that remain that an accident was avoided.the vehicle was brought to a stop as soon the loss of control was experienced and has been parked since.it is cannot be operated safely in the this condition.the failed frame is the source of the driveability and safety issues.the vehicle was traveling northbound on a 4 lane divided road when the loss of control manifested.

Severe problems with steering since purchase.vehicle is difficult to control, goes all overroad. Dealer cannot find anything wrong.consumer states there are tracking problems due to rear axle being more narrow than the front axle, rear end sways constantly.

Consumer states that the seal on her vehicle's windshield was broken which caused the rain to leak into the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the mechanic who replaced the seal.the consumer was told that this was a manufacturer's defect.

Hvac dripping into right frame horn causing severe rust affecting steering linkage, and loss of vehicle control. No appropriate drain tube to route moisture away from frame was installed at the factory. Very dangerous!

I have not had an incident, but i am concerned with my vehicle.i have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 van conversion.my concern is that, with the con versions with large bay windows.i feel that the passengers have no protection whatsoever with side impact accidents.could your organization investigate these before reports of fatalities start coming in.

While coming back from some errands as i pulled into my driveway i heard a big snap on my front end and bang and scrapping on pavement as soon as i stopped to look the whole piece of the stabilizer bar fell offthe front end chassis and as i looked on front end i noticed heavy corrosion on drivers side where steering box is located as of now vehicle is very unsafe to drive any where there is heavy corrosion this vehicle"sfront end. I just recently bought this car from town and country used auto dealer in abington massachusettsi need van because it is handicap edition i have a handicap son who is wheel chair bond and now stuck with a corrosion problem on the front end of vehicle need pictures or video i will send to you thank you

The front ball bearings failed on a 200 dodge van. I also saw other vans with similar miles(40,000) with the same problem and with ball joint problems too. This was prompted by a tv report on dodge durango ball joint problems. I think chrysler is making bad front end parts for all its light duty trucks.

Front end/bearing problems in (2) 2000 dodge ram 2500 vans. Problem has been reoccuring and dodge fails to admit the problem. They also refuse to replace parts that they replaced 11,000 miles ago. Bearings dissintegrate and cause damage to hub spindles.

Severe problems with steering since purchase.vehicle is difficult to control, goes all overroad. Dealer cannot find anything wrong.consumer states there are tracking problems due to rear axle being more narrow than the front axle, rear end sways constantly.

Consumer states that the tires are prematurely wearing. Consumer also states that the tires are the wrong size and can not handled the weight of the vehicle.please give any further details concerning the tires.

Tires on conversion van were not the correct ones per goodyear.chrysler did not upgrade tires for conversion van.it was something about the diameter of the tires that were not correct.dealer indicated tires were okay.the consumer states that the tires were wearing with less than 20k miles, and experienced a blowout with one tire.the consumer was told that dodge did not install the proper tires as to the added weight of the conversion-which adds weight to the stock van.the standard size tires aren't heavy duty enough for the conversion.*scc
