After months of recall notices i finally had spare time to schedule appointment on this recall. It was over a month wait to get it done since there are so many recall for dodge. I had to schedule for 7am since i work for a living and need truck for work. I took off a few hours to get this repair done. Since i had to get up an hour early to be on time. Service dept was very adamant about being on time to get in and out i arrived 10 minutes early. The lady at the desk informs me that they don't have the parts to fix recall. Are you kidding me? this is totally unacceptable and has caused me to lose time at work because of dodge screw up. I demand a rental truck while this service is being done when dodge finally get the parts in.. Since dodge cares so much about the customer safety..bullsh*t.... If you really cared the parts would of been there this would of been handle professionally and it would be over. But hell no i have to wait till dodge calls me to let me know parts are in and wait a freakin month to get another appointment.. I am pissed... Extremely....

When my vehicle reached 50000 miles the abs light, the airbag light and brake light came on for no apparent reason. Dodge has two recalls related to this issue. But as expected my vehicle was not on the recall list. So their solution was for me to purchase the 500.00 dollar part to remedy their poor design and workmanship. This is clearly a huge safety issue and should be addressed promptly. I personally think these failures are by design to sell parts.
I totaled my dodge 3500 i was doing 37 mph on a main road and drove into a bunch of trees. My airbags did not deploy. My truck is smashed, suspension came out of truck, tire rod snapped in half, radiator burnt, my rim snapped in half, tire popped, hood severely damaged, transmission fell out, bumper and fender severely crunched. I hurt my head badly, airbags didn't deploy. Not impressed and i am now going after dodge as i have many witnesses and pictures of myself, truck and the accident.

Takata recall - i am unable to get this recall completed. I have been on a waiting list for over 6 months, and am still being told that the dealer is not being provided with an appropriate number of units to complete the recall. I have called dodge and was told that this is just how it is. I am understandably worried that in the event of an accident this will cause injury to me. I have now received at least 6 recall letters, but still cannot get the recall completed.

Driving in the rain at 40 mph and windsheald wipers stopped working "no wipers on any setting". Changed "parts from dodge dealer" the multi-switch $97 dollars no fix, changed the wiper motor assembaly $214 dollars no fix. Dodge dealer said it had to be the timp and it is $875 dollars just for the part. The dealer told me to just bypass the timp due to they go out all the time. My first issue is over a $1000 dollars to fix just wipers with the chance for some other electrical item to go out at anytime and have to replace the timp again for another $875 dollars. Second issue who designs a electrical control system that is not separating each electrical item!? it would be like one breaker going bad in your house but you can not change just the one break you have to change out the entire electrical panel.
Several days ago my turn-signal, windshield wiper switch startedmalfunctioning at times.for example i would activate the signal switch for a left turn and the right turn indicator light would go on.or, windshield wipers failed to work or did not perform the selected function.i consider this a safety hazard for obvious reasons and because this is the second switch i had in this truck.a year or so ago i had the switch replaced by dodge for the same complaint and now it is happening again.
2006 dodge 3500.consumer writes in regards to recall notice 14v-795.*ldthe consumer submitted invoices, proving the repairs were done, prior to the recall. Also, the outer and inner tie rods, fuel pump and blower motor were replaced
Left rear brake light doesn't work.i spent $200 at two different dealership trying to get the problem fixed and was told that it would cost me an additional $1500 to fix the problem.something called the tipm was blown and wiring was damaged.i have inspected the wiring and it is not damaged.
The rpm gauge goes completely out of sync of the actual rpm of the engine. This condition makes knowing manual shift points impossible to know rather driving a manual or automatic transmission equiped truck. Also causes excess emissions and a danger of losing control when taking out of gear for a downshift. This condition happens rather idleing or driving. There are several hundred compaints on the internet of this happening to 2006 dodge diesel trucks.

Discovered that there was a recall on the malfunction switch. I carried my vehicle to the dodge dealership. I was refused to have the switch replaced because i was told i was 700 miles over the warranty. I tried to explain that this was a recall to no avail. My switch is doing exactly as described, at intermittent times the switch will display the opposite direction chosen. Turn right blinker on and left comes on, etc. Also sometimes the switch will not turn headlights from dim to bright or bright to dim. This is a major safety concern as it gives the wrong intention on turns and also blinding oncoming traffic. These issues could possibly cause a crash.
Faulty total integrated power module creates a situation where the vehicle can change from 2wd to 4wd at anytime. A situation like this can create a hazard while driving at any significant speed. For example, trying to take a turn while the driver expects to be in 2wd but the vehicle is in 4wd will cause the vehicle to take wider turns than normal. This may lead to the vehicle entering into the path of entering oncoming traffic causing a head on collision.
Putting on the left directional will sometimes cause the right directional blinker to blink. Other times, it will start to blink left and then go back and forth i.e. Left, right, left, right, left etc. I first noticed it when a tractor trailer came within inches of pushing me off the road . After taking a minute to collect myself from a near disastrous collision on a 4 lane highway, i could not understand why he did not understand my intention. After this incident, i began hearing an odd click when i would put on my directional. Shortly after this, while sitting at a stop light, i was waiting to take a left turn. I happened to look down and notice that my right directional was blinking. I immediately check my directional lever and verified that i did in fact have the left directional on and the right one was blinking. I have had police cars flash their lights at me because i have the wrong blinker on. I contacted my local dodge dealer and explained the problem. They told me to check the 4 prong trailer hitch for corrosion. I did this. It in fact was corroded. I cleaned it up and still have had the problem. I was then told that the multifunction switch in the steering column needed replacing. I asked if chrysler was going to take care of the repair via recall. I was told "no" and it would be about $250 to fix it. I explained to them that i feel a near death experience should warrant them paying for it. Again they said nope. No matter the reason both of these components should be taken care of before someone dies. I have yet to fix it due to the cost and a feeling they should pay for it. I only regret that someone may get into a fatal accident due to this problem and never have the chance to say " i did have my left directional on", and the other party not being blamed for such an accident...i am sure you understand. I have since watched my dashboard every time i use my blinker. I was able to capture this on my camera on one occasion in a parking lot with narration.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the driver's side low beam headlight failed. The contact also mentioned that the gauges failed to function. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the integrated power module had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.
Abs brakes locked up driving on freeway. Intermittenttly blinking off and on @ instrumrnt panel.
Wiper blade electronics will stop intermittently causing loss of visibility especially in severe weather conditions. This has happened numerous times despite use of appropriate de-icer winter formula wiper fluid, replacement of the wiper motor, and multi-function switch assembly. The problem appears to be overload of the circuit when there is mild to moderate amount of ice on the windshield or when the steering wheel is readjusted downward causing the wiring harness to come loose. This has almost caused major accidents at least 2 and maybe even 3 times due to this issue. The problem occurred when driving straight at slow speed of about 20 mph due to severe weather and i was forced to stop when the wipers would stop working.
Driving down the road while itwas raining and windshield wiper just stop working had 30 mile to get home without windshield wipers . Had two kids in the car . I work for the fire dept and need my truck . Took it to the dealer to find out it was the tipm and there was no quick fix and that they fail all the time . Cost is over a 1000. Bucks.
I have a 2006 3500 single wheel with 30,000 km(19,000mi). I narrowly escaped a serious accident yesterday. I was turning left from a busy road and was being followed too closely by a fully loaded rig carrying steel coils. I put on my signal and began to slow down to allow the approaching traffic to clear before i continued to turn left. I watched the rig come up on me quickly and i realized he was not slowing down and was beginning to veer into the oncoming traffic lane. It was then that i noticed that although i had on my left turn signal the right turn signal was activated. Obviously the trucker thought i was turning right and was beginning to overtake me on my left figuring i would be, at any second, getting out of his way. If i was not watching my rear view and whipped the truck to the right out of his way, he would have smashed me into oncoming traffic and or put the rig into oncoming traffic.i called the dealer and said i would be right in. They were really good about it and showed genuine concern. The parts advisor informed me that the engineers in the detroit area were looking for a 2006 ram that had recently experienced this problem. Obviously they (chrysler) are getting reports from others that this is happening. The part is back ordered which also indicates that this may be a problem which is happening all over the place.it blows my mind that the design of the multifunction switch would allow in any circumstance the signal to cross and cause the opposite signal to work.symptoms that happened a week before hand were an erratic timing of the signal and a quick flash of the opposite signal light. I contacted the dealer right away and they began the order process on the multifunction switch. It never happened again after that until yesterday.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph and the entire instrument panel failed to operate. The failure occurred intermittently. In addition, the headlights would not illuminate whenever activated. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic, who stated that the driver's side battery fuse panel and the multifunction mechanism would need to be replaced. The trailer plug wiring harness was faulty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
On the night of apr 16, 2019 it same like everyday i went home from work back up my truck in the driveway turn off and got in the house forgot my ipad went back out and get it ,back in the house went to take the shower and then five minutes later the truck burn down, the fire truck came they put out the fire, and i got the report said engine area, running gear, wheel area.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the turn signals either don't work at all or if you're making a left turn the right turn signal will activate and the right turn signal activated the left turn signal. The windshield wipers would activateat times when the turn the turn signals were turned on.the windshield wipers at times would always operate very slowly and remained on whenever they were turned off. There was a delay when the headlights were turned on and when the hi beams were on they remained illuminated. The contact stated that chrysler was aware of the failure. The failure and current mileages were approximately 95,000.
As i was driving down the road to work i turned on the blinker and a bell went off, then the windshield wiper started spraying fluid on the windows and the wipers would not work. I was 2 blocks from my office and pulled in and turned the engine off. When i exited the vehicle a smelled what smelled like electrical fire. I opened the hood and noticed smoke coming from the fuse box. I went into my office and was getting ready to call for a tow truck when i heard the trucks horn started honking, i ran outside and the vehicleslights were flashing on and off and the truck was starting running andthen turningoffall on its own with out a key in the ignition. The smoke was really pouring out and the started kept trying to start. I disconnected the batteries and removed the fuse box. This is a serious safety issue and i have read numerous blogs regarding this problem this morning. Thank goodness i was stopped in my office parking lot when this happened as if i was going down the road this could have killed someone.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. The contact states that when he switches the turn signal to the left the right turn signalcomes on.however if the right turn signal is turned on then both left and right turn signals will switch on at the same time.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the tepim module needed to be replaced.he is still experiencing the failure. The contact did not notice any difference beforehand.the current mileage is 12000 and the failure mileage was 75000. Updated 12/01/10. *ljthe consumer stated the steering linkages were replaced under recall. However, as he was backing up to a trailer, it snapped in two. Updated 12/14/10
When using the turn indicator, either the opposite indicator comes on, or neither work.also, the windshield wipers don't work properly.they seem to operate randomly (e.g., work at high speed with the switch in the off position, or don't work at all with the switch in any position).it appears to me that the multi-function switch is defective.this problem nearly caused an accident while i was driving at highway speeds (60 mph)during a rainstorm and the wipers wouldn't operate.i had to drive to the side of the highway and shut off the ignition switch to resolve the problem.a less experienced driver may have had more severe consequences.
I first noticed the problem hooking up a trailer. My vehicles left turn signal does not operate. I also noticed the brake light on the left side does not operate. I decided to get my vehicle checked out by my local mechanic. I stated my problem to my mechanic, at once he stated, this is a common problem with 2006 dodge ram 3500?s. He said the integrated control module or tipm has failed. It fails on these trucks all the time. My question to him why does dodge not have a way to fix the problem correctly? this is a safety issue for me and other driver?s if it fails going down the road. Not to mention every time it fails it cost 800.00 to fix the problem.
Intermitten signal/brake light failure on 2006 dodge ram 3500.will blink right when i am making a left hand turn.
I have a 2006 dodge ram cummins 3500 4 door long bed 4x4. While i am driving in town, i will go to use the turn signals and the opposite side that i intended to use will come on, and often both blinkers will flash at the same time. This happens almost every time i try to use the blinkers, they rarely work correctly. We have never done any modifications or replaced anything, therefore i know i have not caused this problem. This started happening over a month ago. Since this has happend i have been in about four near vehicle accidents.
I turned left turn signal on prior to turning and a car behind me also had left turn signal on. The car behind me passed me on the left almost hitting me in the side as i began a left turn. I swerved off the road to the right and noticed that even though my left turn signal had been applied, the right flasher was blinking. I searched online and found : nhtsa action number : pe08059.dealer claims they are not aware of this, nor are they aware of this safety issue with other vehicles.
While driving i heard a popping sound followed by smoke, burning plastic electrical fire smell, pulled over and found the orange wire next to the 100 pin power distribution block under the dashboard smoking. Upon further investigation i found that the harness rests against the metal emergency brake cable holder and had chaffed through, as well as the blue wire next to it. This orange wire is a constant hot and had began to ground itself out on the bracket. I had electrical tape with me and i have taped it up as a temporary fix to keep the truck from catching fire.
Driver side brake and blinker for trailer light do not work. Seat belts do not retract.
Turning left onto farm to market...signaled left..rear vehicle began passing me on left i slammed on brakes as did they...although my turn signal lever was in left turn position...vehicle turn lamps were both signaling a right turn as was dash lamp...very dangerous..could have killed passing motorist are sent them to the ditch ..signal now malfunctions on a weekly basis..switch on backorder...tells us something...
Takata recall - when they replaced my driver's side airbag they broke the electrical substrate (in the airbag cover) that functions the horn.apparently this is happening on most of these as the part is on back order. I haven't had a horn since may 2016 and have almost been in a wreck as a result.
2006 dodge ram 3500. The directional will not indicate the proper turning direction at times. If the directional is pushed to turn left, the right directional lights come on. If the directional is placed for a right turn then no lights come on. If the hazard lights are place on, then only the left directional lights come on. At time if indicating a left turn, all the directional lights will alternateback and forth. Does not happen all the time and difficult to reproduce.
Bought the 3500 megacab cumminswith the g56 6 speed manual in nov 2005 and by the way this was the 3rd cummins i've owned and the worst, great motor but not happy with manufacture this time.so i bought in nov 05 and dec.25 started it up and check engine light stayed on, so i shut it off and called dealer next day. This was the start of it all. Every 3day this would happen and i had to drive 23 miles to dealer to have them plug it up to computer and still could not tell me what was wrong. This went on for 14 months ended up buying my own module to reset myself. During all this found the issue with vents and broken dampers in ductworkand started having problems with the power back window cable brokethen new one[s] leaked,3 of them and then the window stopper fell off so i have had 4 rear power windows installed. After all that at 68000 miles i lost 2,4 and 6th gear80 miles away from home and had to limp it home holding shifter in 6th gearwhole time, broken shift towerthat wasn't cheap.then i stared having problems with blowing white smoke on startupcome to find i have a injector acting up and the dealer said the fix was a 120.00 bottle of injector cleaner and dog the [xxx] out of it .at about 75,000 miles started having the turn signal switch problemturn left and the right signal flashed and the shake in the front end and have had 4 front end alignment and new set of tires now have 125,000 mile still get the shakeand past do to give up in this beast.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
When i use the switch to brighten or dim the headlights the windshield washer turns on and stays on for 3 to 5 seconds.lately when i try to use the windshield wipers they work only sporadically.when i pull a trailer the left blinker or brake light will not work.i drive a 2006 dodge ram dually with the cummins engine.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v795000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 167,000.
Every time i took it to the dealer, they said there was nothing they could do about the problem. The whole front end felt like it was loose. I could hardly keep it on the road.the dealer test drove it the several times i took it there, but they never fixed anything.i tried to fix it myself because it was a hazard.finally we got a recall on this exact problem, after i called chrysler for some help, which they told me they would get in touch with the dealer, but the dealer told me they never got any notice.i have a lot of receipts of all the parts i bought trying to fix the problem. But it still isn't right.i have had this truck for 10 years and love it, but am really getting tired of fixing it.also the computer has never shifted the transmission correctly, but again the dealer could not find any problem.i sure hope you can buy this vehicle back, or fix everything i have tried to get fixed for years on end.
I was driving down the street just about to make a left hand turn so i turned on my left signal when i did that my windshield wipers stopped working plus with my left signal on it wasn't blinking to the left it was blinking to the right. So without my windshield wipers i had to pullover because i couldn't see. I turned the truck off then back on and the windshield wipers started working again. But everytime i use my left signal my right one blinks and my windshield wipers stop working.

I have a 2006 dodge srw 3500, laramie package diesel with roughly 89k miles.i've had numerous problems with what the dealer calls the tipm or total integrated power module.apparently all the lights are computer controlled and the first problem i had was when my driverside signal light quit working all together after i had towed my 18' car hauler which i've owned for years and never had any issues with towing it with my 2 other trucks, well this just went away one day without a full diagnosis or repair.i thought that was a safety issue but things are now worst because now, periodically when i use my left signal light the right will flash as well practically at random, or both.of course me being an engineer i tried to troubleshoot the problem and it's obvious that the failure can only be duplicated while in motion or turning the steering wheel.of course the truck is out of warranty so the dealer is doing everything they can to prevent from covering the repairs or even the diagnosis at this point.
Runaway accelerationfirst time on onramp, hit cruise resume, once the speed hit setpoint - throttle went wide open.second time 7/5/2012 - not on cruise, doing about 65-70 on highway, passing - then throttle went wide open to 90 in next 3-4 seconds.to stop it - shifted to neutral, engine revved to 3500,pulled over and shut down the engine, waited a minute, restarted, then vehicle immediately returned to redline.shut down, 5 minutes, on restart, got normal idle ~700rpm.took to dodge dealer hw hunter in lancaster california on july 9.they kept the vehicle all of the 9th, 10th and half of the 11th.their ran diagnostics for 2 1/2 days to duplicate.they said they could do nothing else (ran all possible tests).drove to alaska from california without incident.now happened again.7/24/12 in alaska to stop, [xxx] left car in gear and turned off the engine) and slowed with the brakes (eilson afb)after 1 minute off - restart and redlined.after 5 minutes off, restarted and got normal operation.this is ridiculously dangerous, and there are numerous posts on forums with others experiencing the same problemhttp://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/2006-2500-diesel-speed-runaway-t288211.htmlhttp://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-non-powertrain/403179-2006-5-9-wants-run-away-throttle.html.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
My truck went in to dealer with fuel problems. They said there was contaminated fuel, water in fuel. I told them the water in fuel light never came on, but they denied my warranty claim. I noticed there was a recall on my truck for the defective water in fuel light. They still deny my claim and are charging me $9000.

Rear turn/hazards signals do not work, front turn signals are fine.all fuses, wiring to lights, bulbs are fine.trailer plug is fine.this problem is causing many other motorists to not know my intentions when changing lanes or turning.
I first noticed my headlights were hard to dim or change to bright. A few days later, my wipers would stop working. To get the wipers to work, i had to use the "wash" option. That would cause them to work for a while then they would go out again. About the same time, i noticed my blinkers were acting very strange. When i turned them on, they both would blink very fast. Now the problem has progressed to a point where turning the left blinker on only turns on the right blinker. It almost caused a wreck the other day. I was attempting to turn to the left but my right blinker was on. The car behind me passed me at the same time i started to turn left.
Truck began having troubles running, giving off black smoke intermittently, and sometimes an engine shutter would be present. The vehicle was a dodge ram 3500 1 ton dually, 5.9 deisel with automatic transmission.according to the dodge dealer, the computer recognized the truck key as an invalid key. We had the truck for a few months with no problem. The computer had rewritten a newkey code. The dodge dealer said that he had experienced 4 vechicles with the same problem within the last two weeks. All had the original key code rewritten with a new code(the same in all four vechicles). All were 2006 models although he didn't say what model. 2 of the four shutdown completely and the other two including my vechicle ran intermittently good/bad.although the dealer fix of reprogramming the correct key code has our vechicle working again, i am concerned about a factory installed virus that rewrites the key code. If it were a random occurance, how could all 4 vechicles get the same key code written.i am also concerned about timing of pulling a tailer of horses down the road and getting disabled in the middle of nowhere. If the motor is disabled while running, what happens to the power steering/brakes.i am highly concerned.
If you use your 2006 dodge ram truck for towing a trailer, there is a totally integrated power module (tpim) in the fuse box that is not protected by fuses.so, if you hook up your trailer to power your running lights and there happens to be a glitch, the tpim runs the risk of being fried.it happened to me with other 42k miles on my truck.the regular warranty does not cover it and many, many people with 2006 trucks have had this problem.the dealer had to replace mine.the part was $700 and labor was over $200.this set up is unacceptable in a vehicle that is built for towing.there is a software flash to up the amperage of the circuits but it doesn't completely fix the problem.dodge needs to provide a recall to install more protection between the trailer wiring and the tpim.
I was sold the above vehicle by goodrich auto works, llc, [xxx] [xxx], 7255 worth road, bath ny 14810 607-776-7777 and he did not disclose on any paperwork that it was a reconstructed vehicle nor that he had tampered with the odometer.i paid 10,500 and am told its value is $1000 due to this.i contacted him 5 times via phone and three times via fax requesting he refund me and he just hangs up on me and tells me to "f-off".information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
When purchased at the dealers driveway, idle dropped extremely low then surged, salesman said that was normal for diesels, drove from that dealership to home with same problems almost at every stop, took to dealership again, they changed fuel filter, no change, then changed fuel pump, no change, then said they think it might be injectors or fuel rails, i had enough asked for the keys they still made me pay $600 plus to remove the vehicle even though they couldn't find the problem, shortly after that i started getting alot of blow by from number 6 cylinder, the pcm stopped functioning normally so i had to replace that, shortly after that i had to replace the turbo charger. Recently i was driving it and it started smoking extremely bad and just quit, i opened the hood and there was oil everywhere, had to have it towed home where it still sits as of this day. I have heard so many bad things about this vehicle between the years of 2006 and 2007, i think it only fair the dealer should stand up for their product.
A young child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without the clutch depressed.the vehicle then moved forward striking another child and resulted in a fatality.the clutch interlock safety switch had not been tampered with and was in its original condition but did not function properly.the vehicle started without the clutch depressed.the switch has been tested and found to be defective....updated 01/07/15
The water pump split at the seam in the case. When the engine was running, the pump would spray out a powerful stream of hot radiator water. The radiator water would be completely drained from the system within 30 minutes if running the engine, but the water would only escape slowly if the engine was not running.

The flap that controls fresh air vs. Re-circulated air breaks and falls off. Even if replaced it quickly breaks again. Dodge charges $800 to fix this cheap plastic part only for it to quickly break again.i found the problem because of the numerous reports found on the web about dodge ac low air flow. When broke, the flap falls on top of the fan motor and blocks air circulation.my children have bad allergies and i have no way of turning off the outside air because of the defective design in the flap. After it breaks it blocks the air flow of the fan motor. I have 3 co-workers with the same model vehicle. They have all since checked their fresh air/re-circulate air flaps and they were all broke. This obviously is a design flaw not being acknowledged by dodge.it's hazardous to my children health (and mine) not being able to turn off the outside air when traveling through areas with bad air outside, exhaust fumes from other cars, etc....thank you for looking into this matter.

I have 2 2006 dodge diesel trucks one 2500 and one 3500. Both ac's went out within 3 months of each other both trucks had the same problems theystarted blowing less air then started making a loud noise and then stopped cooling all together. I took both trucks in and was told a door to the venting system had broken off and was hitting the ac fan motor. Both trucks had around 41,000miles i had to pay for this out of my pocket($744.00 each truck) i was told that this was a common problem but they didn't see a need to issue a recall. The dealership told me they repair about 10 of these a week. I can see it happening to one truck but not both. They need to recall this.

Backup light on one side went out. Tried replacing the bulb, but it turned out to be the whole mechanism that holds all three rear lights. Seems like a defect to me, my truck only has 40k on it. Wanted to see if anyone else had same problem. Please report on here to make it a recall and make the dealer pay for their faulty equipment.
Turn the left turn signal on, and every so often, the right one will flash at the same time. People behind me get confused and try to go around me on the left and almost hit me. Nov. 20th, 2006 is when problem started.

It has been several years now but after extensive research i have decided to take action.i was drivingmy pick-upin town when i lost my gauge lightsand i noticed at the same time i lost all my maker lights on the vehicle.i pulled over and found a blownfuse in the fuse boxand replaced it with a new one.right away it blew again only this time it also blew the cercit in the totally integrated power module, wichata left me no choice but to bypass the curcit and get power to my lights form another source.the next day i went to the dealer and was told it is a common problem and the tipm is $850 that don't include thecost of replacing it and then programing it ti the vehicle. So i decided i wasn't going to pay that much for something that i had already fixed by bypassing the problem. Then a few years later i was driving down the highway around 65 mph at night when i lost my high beam headlights upon further diagnosis i found it to be the tipm at fault again.i spoke with the dealer about it and they told me it too was a common problem.so i filed a complaint with chrysler about both issues and told them they needed to get it fixed and they told me they would look into it. So i let it go without pressing the issue any further.as to my knowledge nothing has been done.but after extensive research i have foundmore serious problems with the tipm, that dodge needs to acknowledge and bite the bullet and fix the problems.due to these issues being major safety problems.(i.e. Loss of wipers, loss of low beam headlights, and turn signal flashing the wrong way)
When using the turn indicator, either the opposite indicator comes on, or neither work.also, the windshield wipers don't work properly.they seem to operate randomly (e.g., work at high speed with the switch in the off position, or don't work at all with the switch in any position).it appears to me that the multi-function switch is defective.this problem nearly caused an accident while i was driving at highway speeds (60 mph)during a rainstorm and the wipers wouldn't operate.i had to drive to the side of the highway and shut off the ignition switch to resolve the problem.a less experienced driver may have had more severe consequences.
Rear turn/hazards signals do not work, front turn signals are fine.all fuses, wiring to lights, bulbs are fine.trailer plug is fine.this problem is causing many other motorists to not know my intentions when changing lanes or turning.

Turn signals flash erratically.left turn signal sometimes signals right and visa versa.phone interview update (6/26/2008): mr. Llarena said that he had noticed a total of about five occasions that the dash turn signal indicators have flashed in the opposite direction than he had intended. Two of the five occasions had occurred in the month since he reported the problem to nhtsa. The turn signals had also came on by themselves. When that happened, he jiggled the turn signal stalk to turn the signal off. He c0uld not think of any common thread or circumstance in all those occasions which may have triggered the turn signal anomolies. The problem has not been corrected because he couldn't dupicate it.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500 megacab.the contact stated that the turn signals were in operable.the manufacturer was contacted but denied any assistance with repairs to the defect.the dealer was aware of the defect, but the parts needed for repairs were on back order.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 68,000 and the current mileage was 73,000.
The turn signal switch malfunctions and the switch for a left turn is initiated, the right turn signal lights actually blink.
I was driving down a two lane road at 70mph when approaching my road. I turned on my left blinker to signal my upcoming turn and when i began to turn the car behind me went to pass thinking that i was turning right. To avoid hitting me he went off the road into the ditch. When i talked to him about what happened he said that my right blinker was on. I have noticed this problem before on my truck and have noticed it since so i know he was telling the truth. There needs to be a recall on this before someone gets hurt. I also have trouble switching my high beams off or on causing problems with oncoming traffic on a daily basis.
The wiper stopped working except for a very slow speed when the selector was in the "high" position. After several minutes, this also stopped working. The turn signal began to malfunction at the same time leading me to believe the column multifunction switch was at fault. When activating the left turn signal, the right signal would often turn on instead of the left. Auto parts stores informed me that the multifunction switch is not currently available at any price.
Erratic turn signal function. Turn on left blinker and the right signal started flashing on the dash and on the front and rear turn signals. I am almost sure it is the multifunction switch. This was the first time it happened on my truck. I found on a truck forum that this has happened several times and it was suggested that it needed to be reported here.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. In addition, the driver's side turn signal failed to function when activated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 77,540.
Headlights, on low beam, work intermittently. Occasionally fine, usually one is out. No rhyme or reason. Cannot locate fuse to change. Mechanic says fuse boxes faulty on dodge vehicles. Part is $800. Some on line discussions indicate this will not fix problem.
Left rear brake light doesn't work.i spent $200 at two different dealership trying to get the problem fixed and was told that it would cost me an additional $1500 to fix the problem.something called the tipm was blown and wiring was damaged.i have inspected the wiring and it is not damaged.
Steering wheel not center dealer wont fixed ask three times also turn signals the right comes on when you turn on the left one they fixed after fighting with them the wipers stop some times and then go slow then fast then stop the tipm is bad it runs all the electrical on truck had lots of concerns that it will stall because some time the head lights go bright then dim then bright the trailer light some time come on both then one goes out had trailer check out they said was the truck i drive in daylight hours if i can just had tipm replaced at dealer had to fight with them it cost me 1500.00 dollars they said their no recall it a safety thing i just think they should pay not me.

Unsure what caused the issue. The issue is the failure and or uncertain action of the turn signals as well as the hazard lights. The turn signals at times will not function at all or will signal in the opposite direction that the switch was indicated. The fault started to occur at around 60k miles. Truck has 107k miles now and failure has increased frequency as the miles have increased. I have found that if i leave the turn signal switch alone while it is malfunctioning and adjust the tilt steering the turn signal issue may or may not resolve itself.

Turn signal sometimes shows opposite of what is selected.phone interview update (8/26/2008): mr. Madison was on the left turn lane waiting to turn left with the turn signal on. The motorist behind him horned and told mr. Madison that his pickup had the right side turn signal flashing. Mr. Madison was puzzled because he had moved the turn signal stalk down to turn left. On that day and that day only, the turn signals were flashing in the opposite direction to what mr. Madison had selected. The turn signal errors appeared on the dash indicators as well as the exterior indicators.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram3500 quadcab. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and trying to use his turn signals they have malfunctioned by signaling the opposite of what it's suppose to(signal left it goes right and the opposite). Once the signals have failed it also affected the windshield wipers. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact they were unable to diagnose the failure, but they would replace the indicator. The indicator also failed six times in the past 2 years. The failure continued to recur. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

I was driving my 2006 dodge ram 3500 5.9 cummins turbo diesel pickup at approximately 60 m. P.h. When i started smelling diesel fuel fumes.i looked in my outside rear view mirrors and could see what appeared to be a mist spraying behind the vehicle.i began to look for a safe place to pull off the road as i was pulling a trailer behind me.just before i pulled off the road, the check engine light came on. When i stopped, i could see a mist coming from the engine compartment.i opened the hood and noticed there was diesel fuel sprayed under the engine compartment and also underneath the vehicle.there was fuel dripping from underneath the engine compartment where it sprayed heavily.upon looking further, i noticed there was a broken fuel line that caused raw fuel to be sprayed in the engine compartment including directly onto the engine and underneath the vehicle onto the exhaust system.it appears this is a common problem and is usually the #4 fuel line.i feel this is a fire hazard and could be very dangerous to the driver and/or passengers and other vehicles on the road.
Fuel line ruptured while driving on the interstate at 75 mph.check engine light came on, but because it was dark driver was unaware of fuel leak until smoke was observed coming from engine.diesel fuel was spraying all over engine and was leaking down exhaust.smoke was rolling out of vehicle.police and fire dept. Responded due to fuel leak.repair was covered under warranty, except for towing.parts were replaced by dealer.
My truck went in to dealer with fuel problems. They said there was contaminated fuel, water in fuel. I told them the water in fuel light never came on, but they denied my warranty claim. I noticed there was a recall on my truck for the defective water in fuel light. They still deny my claim and are charging me $9000.
Vehicle died on road with no warning. Dodge won't replace the fuel injectors under my warranty because i had sediment in my gas tank.
# 4 fuel line on dodge cummins 5.9 l diesels cracks forcing 5-6 gls. Of fuel in 5 miles onto engine. By me giving theauto dealers parts counter the type of engine (5.9 l diesel) and that it was a fuel line problem he already knew which line it was.
2006 ram 3500 with 5.9 cummins. Nearly the same as all the other reports here. 9pm, major highway, entire family in cars, kids asleep, start smelling raw diesel fumes. Big cloud of mist behind truck, about mile further "check engine" light came on. Nearly made it home, but died suddenly and only place to go was median in 4 lane highway. Huge cloud of steam out of engine compartment smelling like diesel. Several gallons of diesel pumped all over hot engine, exhaust, entire underside of truck, body of truck, highway, major mess. Vehicle just out of warranty. Towed it home after a harrowing ordeal getting a wrecker there and trying to not get hit by cars. Non-dealer mechanic diagnosed what appears to be a very common problem--cracked injector line-- despite only seeing a few complaints here (google "cracked #4 injector line). He agrees, atomized diesel touching a hot turbo could ignite, and we would have had a vehicle fire and become a flaming bomb with the entire family in the car. Dodge and cummins should be ashamed. They have ignored this, and it will take a death or serious injury before they get sued and fix things.consumers who bailed out dodge are left hanging with expensive repairs, and their families strandedin the middle of nowhere.
A possible mechanical malfunction in the front drive shaft/front suspension possibly caused the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic and cause a fatality crash. *dt*dt
I came to a stop light and the transmission raised the engine rpm and shook the vehicle.i had to put the transmission in neutral to keep from surging forward.it also surges in reverse as well, which is even more dangerous because i have to go in reverse and then to neutral to keep from surging backwards.there are no engine or transmission computer code read outs.

While at a complete stop, with foot on the brake, there was tremendous amount of power being transferred through the transmission to make the truck surge forward.i had to put both feet on the brake pedal and pull on the steering wheel to stop the vehicle.at one point, sitting at a four way intersection i released the brake pedal and i immediately slid sideways uncontrollably across the intersection.thankfully there were no other vehicles at the intersection otherwise there would have been a guaranteed collision.every stoplight or stop sign was like a hole shot with a transbrake.

While starting my vehicle i pushed on the clutch and the pedal went to the floor.upon inspection it was found that the rod connected to the hydraulic clutch diaphragm broke apart. The plastic pieces were discolored and brittle. I believe the clutch fluid started leaking past the diaphragm and came in contact with the plastic clip that connects the rod to the diaphragm. Because this plastic clip is not compatible with the brake fluid it became brittle and failed. The vehiclewas taken to local dodge dealer for inspection and quote for repair. Unit was not under warranty and i filed a complaint with a dodge service consumer representative. Dodge covered the repairs except the first $100.00. I am thankful this part failed in theparking lot and not moments later when i would have been engulfed in rush hour traffic. If this part failed while driving, braking distance would have dramatically increased which could have caused an accident leading to injury or possibly a fatality. Essentially, this failure in safety quality by chrysler corporation could have led to disastrous consequences had it not simply been for luck.

I was driving home started hearing what sounded like grinding and some vibration, i stopped and looked all over under the hood and under the truck and could not find anything, i continued a few miles and the noise disappeared, the next day i left and the noise started up again about 30 miles from home on the freeway, i was doing about 70 mph,, when i pulled off to side of the highway, the noise disappeared before i stopped to look it over again, i turned around and went home and heard nothing at all, got under the truck and didn't see nothing, the next day it happened again doing about 55mph,this time it was getting load, i made it back home, looked over and between the left front wheel and noticed something wrong with the front driveshaft, when i got under the truck ,i noticed the front shaft coming out of the front differential didn't look right, i looked closer and found that the front yoke coming out of the differential has around ring rock guard from what i havebeen told ispressed onto the yoke shaft to protect the seal, and it has weights on it also to balance the shaft, the ring or rock guard has come loose and was spinning on the shaft causing damage to the differential housing and to the oil seal, it did some pretty good grinding damage to the housing, i havetaken it to a driveshaft repair place, they said the will need to rebuild the front differential to check for other damage to the bearings and so, as it looks now the mechanic says he doesn't know if he can save the differential housing with all the damage, as for now i cant afford to fix it, the rng or rock guard for now is getting held back from the housing with electrical tape, i know it sounds bad but currently being cut from my job with no income, i have no other choice but to drive it the way it is ,it is my only means of transportation.

Intermittent problem. Truck (2006, 3500 quad cab dually) sometimes acts like the brakes are not releasing or the transmission is not engaging for a few seconds when accelerating from a complete stop. Took it to a local dealer (orange park dodge in jacksonville, fl. Who could not replicate the problem. I had someone tell me that they knew someone in la. Defective flywheel on cummins equipped trucks.flywheel will warp and cause the clutch and pressure plate assembly to fail.
My truck has 30,000 miles on it. The transmission had a vibration, i made an appointment at carmen dodge in delaware as the dealer i bought this from is out of business. I started out to take it there and the clutch went straight to the floor. I called roadside assistance they came and got it. They determined it was the clutch, but the clutch looks brand new with no signs of wear. The pressure plate broke in half creating a potentiallydangerous situation as it could have came through the body and killed someone. Anyway it clearly is a defect as the rivets that hold the plate togetherclearly sheared off, there is no wear anywhere and you can see it did not over neat or burn. They must have used inadequate soft rivets to cause it tocome apart like that.i called dodge several times they lied to me and said they came out to look at it. The dealership advised no one from dodge showed up.i have the parts, for review and testing and as proof that this is clearly a defect and dodge should pay for its repair.

This is a follow up to complaint number 10280337. Brake pedal instability has led to failure of hydro-boost pump. This resulted in brakes being applied with no brake pedal interaction by operator. This led to overheated brakes and loss of ability to stop vehicle.
Brake pedal has developed 3/4" lateral movement. Presents uncertainty during emergency braking, have had a couple of "close calls" where due to the lateral movement of the brake pedal braking was delayed. Local dealer briefly examined pedal and verified this lateral movement is abnormal and a problem exists with the mechanism in the adjustable brake pedal. Bought the truck with minor steering issues, does not drive straight, lots of "play" in the wheel, seems to "weave" from side to side.has continually gotten worse, when taken to a local mechanic they advised me that there was a recall on steering parts for my truck.contacted the dealer in january 2014, as advised.was put on a large waiting list and told that they were only being sent one part per week.it is now march 21, 2014.two months later, still not fixed.i called the dealer today in fact, to check on the progress and was told that chrysler!!!!!sent them malfunctioning replacement parts and they all had to be sent back.so no one has received a fix for this issue.mean while, my truck continues to drive worse and i am now having problems with my ball joints.my question is, when my steering linkage snaps causing me to "lose control of the vehicle" (as stated in the recall letter) what are my actions of recourse?eventually this is going to happen and probably before the vehicle is ever fixed at this rate.i would also like to know, what else is being damaged due to this specific part and the problems it may cause.if i get the replacement part, only to find out that several more items will need to be replaced, someone needs to take care of that.this is my only means of transportation and what i transport my children in.what does chrysler intend to do when i wreck my vehicle with them inside????there has got to be a quicker/better way to get these repairs done for the public.

Driving approx 50mph northbound; heard a loud "bang" - truck started uncontrollable shaking and steering veered into oncoming (southbound) traffic; hit brakes hard and pulled steering to right - did not respond at 1st and then was able to pull off to the right as oncoming traffic had to stop for me - had to then turn steering wheel all the way to left to get truck to quit going right.exited vehicle, looked under front of truck and right tie rod end was wedged up against inside of rht side tire..rht side front tie rod end came loose of socked and dropped causing loss of steering.dealer did not have parts on hand to repair at that time.personally went and bought parts and installed.took to local tire dealer for alignment - could not get steering wheel totally straight and truck now "drifted" while driving.never, ever, was steering loose on truck.always tracked straight and true.tires never wore to one side or other.said steering box was damaged and could not align within tolerance.rec'd recall notice in december and took to dealer.dealer was able to straighten steering wheel but said truck was still out of alignment due to steering box needing replacement and stated that steering box was not damaged because of tie rod end coming loose.i absolutely disagree.problem did not exist prior to tie rod end falling out of socket and creating a possible fatal injury due to lack of control of vehicle..

I've heard this called the "dodge death wobble". It's a violent uncontrolled front end shimmy or wobble that starts at highway speed when the vehicle hits a minor bump or depression. It doesn't stop shaking until slowing to near stop. Usually a panic stop on the freeway. Very dangerous.

Received notice of safety recall l16 in december of 2013 regarding the left tie rod.contacted the dealership and was told the parts were not available currently, but we would be notified as soon as they were.after several months, calls to the dealership, and complaints to chrysler - we are still awaiting parts to address this recall.we were told by chrysler on 5/29/14 they would be available "soon" with no definition of available of how long soon would be.the dealership has estimated an addition 3-8 weeks before they expect parts to be available.as this truck is a 3500, it is used frequently to pull trailers and heavy loads.should this part fail prior to replacement the consequences could be severe for both the driver, passengers and other motorists should steering control be impacted.

Truck has had extreme lane excursions since about 30,000 miles. Steering linkage was replace under a dodge recall, the wandering and lane excursions were not corrected. Upon inspection the steering gear pitman shaft and bushing has worn out. This is a defective component and has been well known by dodge for some time. They have designed and issued a heavier steering gear part number 68170214aa but have not offered any financial assistance. This may have caused accidents in the past but may not have been identified as the real cause. Consumers should be able to assume that such a critical component in a new vehicle has been appropriately engineered.

When the vehicle reaches 75 miles per hour and it hits a bump the vehicle can begin to wobble from side to side. This wobbling makes the front steering hard to control and creates a safety situation. This happens frequently if i am going the speed limit.
2006 ram 3500. Premature shoulder wear on driver front tire. Took to local mechanic and he states worn tie rod assembly to blame. Truck pulls to left and now tie rods, ball joints, u-joints, and front tires need to be replaced. Contacted dodge january 3rd 2014 and was told recalled left tie rod assembly had been placed on order for me. Had the truck inspected by local dealer and was told they were only getting 1 tie rod a month and that i was on the waiting list. It is now april and replacement piece is still not available. I need the tie rods replaced before i can by new tires because the truck will not align with the worn out pieces that are on the vehicle now. Dodge refuses to reimburse for aftermarket parts and the customer is left holding the bag. It is going to cost me over $1600 for repair work to be performed and at least another $600 new front tires at the very least. Was hung up on by dodge recall customer service line. No one can even tell me where i am on the waiting list. Horrid customer service. I guess dodge will wait until they kill someone before they truly get concerned with this issue.
While driving the right tire lower tie rod ball joint came a part. Had to replace the sterling linkage, tire rod, arm pitman.

2006 dodge mega cab 3500 (4) wheel drive dually started violently shaking while driving on the 215 in las vegas nevada. After hitting a slight bump the truck threw me and my wife side to side in our seats while going about 68mph for no apparent reason. My wife had hit her head against the trucks window due to the truck moving so violently. I later took truck to dealership and was told that these heavy duty dodge trucks have been having problems with its steering. My truck had past the warranty by 5000 miles and was told it would be $1000.00 dollars to replace with more heavy duty components. If this is a manufactures problem, then why are people paying for this? and is dodge waiting for someone to be killed before they categorize this as a recall? my truck which is brand new is currently in operable, and is sitting in my driveway until i can figure out how to give up a $1000.00 dollars to fix a manufactures design faults.
Tie rod broke while traveling down the road. Vehicle crashed in the ditch. Police report was made.
A/c - blower housing, keeps breaking so passenger side gets hot air, has been repaired every year until 2011. And needs it again this year. Happened so often that dodge put an extended warranty on the a/c unit, but as soon as that expired, housing broke again.blinkers- sometimes they come on and others they don't move the tilt or turn and miraculously they come on.drivers side seat belt will not latch, takes numerous attempts to get it to latch
I have been experiencing severe front end shaking/wobble when traveling at various speeds and afterthe most significant event occurs when traveling at highway speed and hitting a bump when steering left or right. This causes the front-end to shake violently and the steering wheel to rapidly jerk to the left/right. The only way for this to stop is to pull over and come to a complete stop and then resume driving.i have taken my truck to my personal mechanic who inspected everything and told me there was nothing noticeable that would cause the truck to do this. After some more occurrences, i took it to the dodge dealer to get their opinion. I was told that i needed to replace the steering damper and that would solve my problem. I thought this to be rather odd due to the fact that i just had it replace within the past year due to it leaking. I was assured this would take care of the front end wobble. Well, $144 later, it was still happening. I was told next that it could be an alignment issue, so they did an alignment on the truck. That too did not resolve the problem. I spoke directly to the service manager who, after a lengthy conversation, informed me that he has seen a large number of these trucks that have the same problem and the only way to fix it is to replace a number of front end parts that end up totaling $2,370.16. I was informed that these parts are new and not oem which i couldn't even obtain anymore. I have done some research and have determined that i am not the only one who has experienced the front-end shimmy/wobble. There is vast information regarding this problem on the internet.

Very lucky to be alive. Driving my 06 ram 3500 on a surface street next to a ups truck approx 25 mile per hour. Just gone through a traffic light and reached a bus stop area where people were waiting for a bus on curb. My truck right side tie rod snapped, and my truck starts to shake violently pulling me to the curb where the people were standing. I could not steer to the left very much because of the truck next to me. I had to brake very hard to keep me from going up onto curb and killing people. Luckily my truck just skinned the curb and bounced back on the road just missing the people and the back end of the ups truck next to me. I have had many problems with my truck shaking after hitting small pot holes or uneven roads at most speeds. I have had 4 alignments since i bought this truck. Gone through 2 sets of front tires before buying rear tires. Well i installed new steering linkage and bought a double steering dampening shocks to help with the shaking. Had truck realigned after accident. Well 3 months later truck started shaking again and my tires are wearing uneven again. Had alignment checked again and was out of alignment. I don't use truck for off road driving, just everyday driving to work and towing small items. Got a email the other day from chrysler saying my truck steering linkage was on recall. My repair shop thinks its more then the steering linkage, maybe the pit-man arm too. The repair shop told me that there is a lot of play in it also. He believes its a defect along with the steering linkage. Will bring truck in for inspection at dealer.

When driving vehicle if you hit a small bump or larg bump the truck starts to shake and you have to stop in the road. I have repaired all of the steering linkages, tie rod ends, stabilizer shock and even taken the truck to dealership for the recall but they told me my truck was not one in the recall.i would like for someone to tell me what is wrong with my truck before someone gets killed driving a defected vehicle.
My 2007 dodge ram 3500 shakes violently when driving over a bump, road seam, manhole or other road irregularity at speeds over 40 mph and does not stop shaking until i slow down significantly.the problem appears to occur regularly when driving over bumps on only one side of the truck, e.g. Driving over manhole covers that are on the right side of the lane in the road, etc.upon research this issue appears to have been named the "death wobble" and has happened to other dodge ram pickups.this incident happens frequently, almost once each time the vehicle is driven.it is a very dangerous issue, especially when driving on the highway in traffic; there is often no safe place to pull aside and slow down immediately and slowing down in highway speed traffic, especially in front of large semi trucks is not an option.although there was a recall on this vehicle for the steering linkage, i was told my vehicle did not have the steering linkage issue therefore did not have to be repaired.i have been told the possible causes for this "death wobble" issue is not a recall item, and i have yet to get the vehicle repaired as the dealerships cannot identify a specific solution and as the vehicle is out of warranty repairs for this issue are not covered by the manufacturer.

The cable holding the spare tire in place broke.the spare fell of the truck, the tire weights close to 90 to 100 lbs, while traveling around 60 mph. 2006 dodge ram 3500 mega cab. At speeds of 65 mph - 80 mph the truck shakes violently. This happens every time you reach these speeds. The shake is so bad that it causes you to leave your lane of the road. Chrysler says there is not a problem. But it is severe enough tocause a crash. When this happens it puts the driver out of control.

The nhtsa campaigns numbers: 09e001000 (steering), 13v528000 (steering) and two more that had nothing to do with the steering were open related to the vin. The failure mileage was 290,000.
A possible mechanical malfunction in the front drive shaft/front suspension possibly caused the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic and cause a fatality crash. *dt*dt
Over the past years, with first occurrence of the terrifying death wobble in approximately april 2009, such wobble occurs several times per year. I am able to avoid if i stay below 40mph, or at higher speeds avoid all bumps. Had not been aware others experiencing same problem. Will approach dealer as to fix, if that does not solve the problem, i intend to take what additional steps are deemed necessary.

I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 megacab 4x4. When driving at speeds of excess of 50 mph, if the truck hits a dip in the road, it shakes violently and looses all control.we had the steering stabilizers replaced 1 month into owning the vehicle, but the problem still remains.when calling dodge to ask about the problem they hang up on us and say they cannot talk to us about the problem.
My 2006 dodge 3500 truck experiences sudden, violent, uncontrollable front end shaking at speeds above 55 mph. This is brought on when i hit a bump, dip, frost heave, or cross a bridge overpass where the road surface is uneven with the overpass surface. When this occurs, it will not stop until the vehicle is slowed to below 25 mph. I have very little control with steering and can only stab the brakes and hold the steering wheel until i reach a lower speed and the shaking stops.this can happen at normal highway speed from 55 mph up to 75 mph. This shaking is not just mild wheelhop, it is quite "violent". Items on the seats are thrown around, my glove box shakes open, things stored in the dash pockets are tossed around. All you can do is grip the steering wheel tightly, hold on, and hope to keep the truck between the lines. I have narrowly avoided a collision on a number of occasions.this has been going on for sometime since around 60k miles, i now have 140k miles on the truck. New tires, shocks, alignments, nothing helps.the only response from the dodge dealer was check my tire pressure and steering stabilizer.me research on the internet has revealed that this problem spans several years of dodge trucks, not just 06 models. There are hundreds of comments and complaints on websites. All one has to do is google "dodge truck death wobble". I was not able to find one single dodge dealer provided remedy.it is only a matter of time before someone is killed in an accident because the vehicle is literally out of control. Please check into this.

Erratic windshield wiper performance followed by complete failure of the wipers. Wipers stalled in the center of the windshield in a thunderstorm while towing a 24,000 lb trailer on interstate 65 with semi truck/trailers on 3 sides.this was the 2nd incident of wiper failure.the first failure occurred about 6 months earlier. After leaving the truck parked overnite, the wiper operation returned to normal.i took the truck to my local dodge dealer after both occurrences.they could not find any problems with the wipers after the 1st occurrence while the truck wasunder warranty. After the 2nd occurrence i was told that the total integrated power module (tipm)had failed and needed to be replaced and since the truck was now out of warranty that i would have to pay for the replacement.i have not yet replaced the tipm.during both wiper failures, the driving situation was very dangerous because road spray covered the windshield and severely cut down visibility. Phone interview update (10/01/09): owner took the vehicle in for repairs after tipm (total integrated power module )was diagnosed to be the cause of the wiper failure mode. Owner states that the tipm was replaced and had multiple failure modes occur including : inoperable wipers, flipped turn signals, and inoperable cruise control. The owner took the vehicle back for repairs and the multifunction swithc was replaced. Owner states no further problems.

Having trouble obtaining a shifter cable, dodge will not help after several attempts to contact customer service.also, had had to replace the entire steering due to death wobble.
My 2006 dodge ram 3500 dually (diesel) truck shakes violently from 45 - 55 mph, so violently that it often takes me off the road and becomes nearly uncontrollable. I have taken it to numerous repair shops and no one can seem to find the problem. Thousands of dollars have been spent trying to fix this - i have replaced the dual stabilizer shocks, replaced ball joints, replaced traction bar, bought new tires, bought new rims, installed a new drive shaft, had the front end aligned several times, and have rotated/balanced tires 6 or 7 times. This problem started around 60,000 miles and the truck now has 100,000 miles - as you can see this problem has been ongoing for quite some time (at least a year and a half). After doing my research online i discovered that there are thousands of people who experience this exact problem with their dodge trucks and thousands who have also filed complaints with chrysler and ntsb. And dodge dealerships send person after person home after reviewingtheir vehicles and finding no problems. These dealerships only have continued excuses for what causes the problem, ranging from "out of round" tires to poorly installed lift kits to loose bearings. I find this absurd! how can so many vehicles have exactly the same problem with such a varying degree of causes?!? chrysler needs to own up to their faults and issue a recall before someone is killed.*ln
The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the cruise control activated independently with an unexpected increase of acceleration up to 106 mph. The vehicle failed to slow down even though the brake pedal was depressed repeatedly. The engine was turned off in order to stop.the failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and they were unable to locate the problem. The technician disabled the cruise control and the failure persisted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 128,800.

Multiple occurrences of mode door/blend door/ recirculation door failure. Diverts air to floor and will not allow for defrosting/ de-icing of windshield. Winshield will accumulate ice and cause wipers to cease function or fog without ability to remove or without warning. Chrysler corporation has a "revised blend door" design that addresses this problem, however, retrofit is noty covered by recall and early replacements sis not utilized revised door design. Door for recirculation will fall off and obstruct fan motor. If fan motor is on, obstruction can cause fan overheat and possible electrical fire/ or melting of housing causing smoke and noxious fumes. Mode door failure prohibits use of defrost/ defog of windshiel and can happen without warning.
2006 dodge 3500 dually.the air conditioner started blowing less air and eventually making a loud noise. Dealer stated the door to the venting system had broken off and was hitting the air conditioning fan. This happened at around 27,000 miles.
Put left turn signal on and truck signals alternates between left and right turn.

Blend door breakage in side of blower unit for heater/ac.i have had this happen two times and as a resulthave almost had an auto accident both times due to not being able to defrost-defog the windshield and side windows.
Bucks.
Noticed the problem in the warmer months, now that colder weather has set in i am unable to defrost the windshield while driving making the visibility low. I have researched the internet and there are hundreds of similar complaints with the heater doors on the pickups.

The contact stated that while driving during inclement weather with the air or heater activated during winter or during rain fall, the windshield became extremely foggy. The contact pulled over and manually cleaned the windshield in order to see out of the windshield. The contact stated that several unknown dealers were contacted and he was informed that the failure was due to the blend door in the hvac system ceasing in place. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned about the safety of himself and other vehicle operators. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 45,000.
Dt*: the contact stated the heating defrost door has become stuck, disallowing the ability to heat, defrost or cool the vehicle.the service dealer confirmed that this has been occurring in about one in every ten vehicles due to a vacuum operated system.
The contact owns a 2006 dodgeram 3500.the contact stated that the driver's side seat belt would not retract when released.the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the problem.the approximate failure mileage was 169,000. Updated 05/28/14 ma updated 05/30/2014
The recirculating door breaks without warning and occludes the airflow to the defroster.this is happening on dodge trucks and has been happening for quite awhile.mine is a 2006 3500 when the door breaks pieces of it get into the blower and causesa major vibration when turned on high, since your defroster does not work it is a driving hazarddodge should be made to fix this issue free of charge instead of charging people $500.00 + to fix a known defect.
Car maker produces an inferior product; dodge mega cab vehicles have inferior blower motors connected to the a/c and heating systems. Therefore, in the summer time it takes an inordinate amount of time to cool the vehicles interior. (southern states...north, south carolinas, georgia, florida, texas..etc)
Dt*:the contact stated while driving 60mph, the rear window was rolled down which caused back pressure in the cab of the vehicle.when back pressure occurred the cab of the vehicle shook violently.this caused tremendous amount of ear pain to the back passengers.the vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. The dealer determined the vehicle was manufactured and engineered this way and operates correctly.the contact installed air deflectors on all 4 windows; however that did not remedy the problem.
Windshield wipers do not work sometimes.
The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500.the contact stated after purchasing the vehicle the windshield wipers didnot work.the contact stated there are a lot of complaints on the internet regarding the windshield wipers for this year make and model.the contact called the manufacturer and they informed the contact they will not repair the vehicle because the vehicle was purchased under "as is" conditions.the contact stated the manufacturer should issue a recall for the windshield wipers because it's difficult to see in the rain and snow while driving.the contact also stated the lack of windshield wipers could lead to a crash in rainy conditions.the failure mileage was 104,000.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 3500. While driving approximately 25 mph and engaging the left turn signal it activated the right turn signal instead. Occasionally, the left and right turn signals completely failed to function. The windshield wipers also shut off when the wiper switch was engaged from high to medium speed. The failure mileage was 192000 and the current mileage was 194000.
Entered into295n (9a) frommerrill rd.heading toward dunn avenue.as i was approachingthe dames point bridge the trucks front axle began to shake and vibrateuncontrollably.also the truck started pulling to right very hard.i pulled off into the emergency lane, turned on flashers, and placed truck in park .after i pulled wheel off,i noticed the tire had shown the inside treads were raised higher than outside treads.this is due to tread and steel belt separating. Replaced with spare under truck. Kept defective tire, because i have seen many complaints same issue same tire, and i am searching for recalls relating to the general amentrac235/80r/17.
