Takata recall.nothing is happening with this recall, if they have the parts to put in new vehicles they should be putting them in vehicles on the road endangering me and my family's lives. If you stop them from selling trucks till they correct the recall it won't be another 5 or 10 years before they get to my truck. They are just waiting everyone out and you know it.

While driving through an intersection (west to east), i was struck on the left side of my vehicle, pushing me to the right into a traffic lane heading north where i then struck a vehicle head on causing front end damage. My air bags did not deploy on impact. This second vehicle was moving forward but slowing down at the time of impact to avoid the accident. I'm the original owner of my vehicle and have had no prior accidents.

"takata recall"i have attempted to get my airbag replaced and the dealership states that they cannot work on the vehicle because it has aftermarket wiring. The wiring is not attached to the airbag and should have no impact on the ability of a replacement airbag working. The current fix they desire is for me to find a shop of some kind that removes head units and have them remove at my cost, and then have the airbag installed and then have the head unit re-installed at my cost. I purchased the vehicle as is a little over a year ago. I just want my truck to be safe for my family to be in. My current case number with dodge customer service is 34528836. Please help me get this fixed.

2004 dodge ram 3500.consumer writes in regards to passenger airbag inflator recall lack of replacement parts.
I have a 2004 dodge 3500. The dash has two large cracks. One is above the airbag and i am concerned if the airbag comes out, will thedash come apart and hit the passenger.
My 2004 dodge ram 3500 will go out of park and into reverse on its own and i was not told that this is an ongoing problem with this particular truck my truck went on its own one day over 250 feet and drove into my neighbors yard. The truck parking pawlwas not completely in as i was toldand this truck has the ability to do it on its own i find this unacceptable and a hazard to my health as long with my neighbors. Could you please look into this because there was not a recall sent to me or anything told to me when i purchased this from the chrysler dodge at the dealer i believe that people need to know what they're getting into and possible hazards that are linked to this could you please email me back with any information on this problem.
The fix for the park/reverse issue on the dodge trucks is a joke. The lights blinking and horn blowing is not a fix at all. The transmission needs to be fixed right or some sort of audible alarm needs to be installed versus the horn blowing and waking up the whole neighborhood each time the door is opened when i need to back up.updated
Trailer turn signals & brake (left) not working on factory 7 prong trailer adapter, truck indicator is ok, no signal to "left" in the wiring loom from the pdc/fmc to the factory 7 prong trailer adapter. (0 voltage), right turn, right brake, running, trailer brake & battery charge are fine.dealer wants 1000$+ to fix/replace a defective pdc/fmc. Had not i done a walk around this could/would of caused an accident if i was making a "left" turn, merging or slowing down/stopping.. Bulbs are all good and independently checked with a 12v power source.
On a 2004dodge truck when you hook up a trailer you may not have brake or turn signals on trailer but truck works fine due to a intergraded fuse box assy yes there are fuses that show good but the fuse box internal will short out dodge hasseveral problems and some fires .
I was heading south on i-87 in new york state at 65 mph when a loud explosion sounding like a grenade going off occurred under the floorboards.my passenger and i thought the parts under the truck were going to explode through the floorboards under us.there was a lot of noise of exploding parts.i was barely able to cost to the side of the highway.there was a great deal of oil on the pavement, wires were hanging under the truck, fuel lines and brake lines were ripped, driveshaft damaged. I noticed then that the dashboard 4 wheel drive light had come on, the front hazard lights worked but not the rear.i believe that this was the result of one of two things...a factory defect in the transfer case clutch or a computer system glitch that caused the truck to switch into 4 wd at high speed. This was a life threatening situation and i was lucky not to be involved in a serious accident and that the parts did not burst through the bottom of the truck although they dented it.
When placing the turn signal in the lower position to make a left turn signal the right signal will come on.some times nether will come on when lever placed in the right turn position. Some times left turn lights come on when the lever is placed in the right signal position.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the right turn signal and the brake lights were inoperable however, the tail lights were functional. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was determined that the fuses were not defective however, the vehicle had a seven pull connecter for hauling a trailer and the dealer suggested that the fuse board be replaced. Driver's door lock actuator quit working, key would not open no entrance by key fob. Had to have it replaced.car was stationary when discovered.
I purchased my truck in may 2006, since i bought the truck it has had a vibration on start ie from stop when i start moving the truck has a vibration. I am now on the third rear drive shaft assembly in my truck at 65k miles. Also have had to replace a blown front hub that separated at 60k miles with no previous problems or warning. Have had over 3k worth of electrical work done at dealership including pcm, wiring harness, fca, injection pump and so forth and so on. Still have tons of electrical issues with truck. And now at 66k miles the fuel sending unit has gone out for the second time.
Have to use force to engage clutch to start vehicle.the vehicle was stationary with a trailer attached.unable to turn off vehicle when fueling due to probability that it would not start.tried jumper cables without success.after stomping clutch several times vehicle started.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph on normal road conditions when the heater system was activated; however, the blower fan failed without warning.the failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The failure was contributed to the steering column wiring harness. The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunction. The contact had concern of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was 172,000. Updated 01/29/10. *ljthe bad connection at the ignition switch was causing an arc and burning the installation at the end of the wire harness . The problem was causing the blower fan to fail intermittently.updated 01/29/10 updated 03/30/10updated09/28/10
Abs light came on. Air conditioner went off and on. Went to stop at an intersection, and heard a pop, and brakes went to the floor.finally stopped with emergency brake. A man came running saying get out that it was on fire. Called the fire dept. This is a new truck with 8,000 miles on it. We are waiting for a rep from chrysler to investigate.they would not even put us in a rental until they got to it. We could have been killed or killed someone else.we purchased this vehicle out of town at brubaker but had to have it towed to a local dealership. *la
I"m having problems, with the dodge ram 3500 truck , front suspension had to be repaired, fuel/propulsion system. Still having electrical problems, inside light stays on while vechicle is in motion. Looses power at timegoing up hills.
Removed key from ignition on 6 occasions over 2 days and engine continued to run.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the vehicle did not function after being started. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the oil filters were defective and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.
Consumer exited the vehicle while it was running and went into his place of business.when the consumer returned to the vehicle it rolled back about 300 feet and collided with another vehicle.there were no injuries , and the police did not arrive on the scene.on another occasion the vehicle rolled back, but the consumer was able to catch it before any damage was done.in all, the vehiclerolled back three times.the dealer examined the vehicle and could not find the cause of the problem.
The brakes locked at 35 mph, causing the vehicle to go throughan intersection into a ditch.there were several problems with the engine in which the mechanics have not been able to determine.the consumer hit a fence and the air bags did not deploy.the consumer stated the engine would just stall.
Exhaust smell from fresh air vents, mainly while idling my 2004 dodge ram 3500 4x4 with cummins engine.i noticed the smell within days of purchase, took it to several dealers, and was told they had never experienced this problem before.end suggestion was a citrus oil additive to make the exhaust smell like citrus.(no joke)fuel injector failure, filling crankcase with diesel, causing rough running and eventual oil pressure loss.dealer, upon advisment from "tech department" changed the oil, replaced the faulty injector and got me out the door.now i have experienced engine vibrations that are getting progressivly worse, higher engine rpm's increased fuel consumtion, a cloud of blue smoke upon startup after several hours of downtime, and the dealership thinks it may be a wiring harness.i spoke directly to cummins service dept. And was told that with oil pressure loss, they would have dropped the oil pan and checked the bearings.
Dodge ram 3500 customer purchased a motor and warranty and wantsdaimler to pay for repairs**ccthe consumer stated when the motor failed, it caused the starter, steering stabilizer, torque converter cooler, the #6 cap on the connection rod to fail. It also put a hole in the side of the block and broke the cam shaft in half. The truck was eventually fixed, however the consumer pick the vehicle up and put a 100 miles on the vehicle, the turbo failed. The consumer took the vehicle to his local dealership and the repair was covered under warranty.
Dt:the contact statedvehicle would not start on two occasions.the vehicle was taken to the dealership, andthe fuel injectors were repaired.the second time the vehicle would not start was due to the valve seat.the vehicle could not be repaired.a rebuilt engine was installed into the vehicle.the manufacturer has not been contacted about why a rebuilt engine was installed instead of a new engine.the vehicle was repaired under warranty.
There is an exhaust leak coming through the air vents when the hvac fan is turned on.i was a little dizzy & had a headache last night after a long drive back home from north florida.after talking to a physician about my condition, he felt that the cause was most certainly carbon monoxide poisoning.i have mentioned this problem to the dealership & they have been unresponsive.they say that they have never heard of this problem before & there is no fix.i've researched the internet & found many others that have experienced a similar problem so i know i'm not alone.there is even one gentlemen that believes he has the fix.apparently dodge didn't cover some of the holes between the engine compartment & were the hvac system draws fresh air for the cab.i will attempt this fix but still wanted to make an official report of this issue in the event something happens to me or the vehicle as a result of this problem.
The blend door that works the defroster for the windshield is faulty due to poor engineering. In cold weather this could cause serious accidents due to build up of snow and ice on the windshield. Dodge uses cheap parts for the blend door primarily plastic faulty parts. The mechanism that opens and closes the blend door wears out the two pieces that fit together. This causes either the plastic piece to break completely or just continue to rotate without opening or closing the blend door. Dodge willnotrecall this because in order to do it right they have to pull the whole ventilation box and heater core out of the vehicle. However they would like to charge customers upwards of $1000-1400 to fix it. Please look into this there are numerous complaints all over the internet about dodge and their faulty blend doors not working due to poor engineering and cheap parts.

Happened on both sides 2 month apart. Loud bang and rumble. Inside tire, tread came off of tire. Damaged inside of wheel well, running lights, fenders on the dually, metal supports on fender. Never had this happen in 30+ years of towing and driving trucks.

The dealer informed the contact that the headlights could not be aligned. The contact has noticed the problem when the vehicle was purchased. The current and failure mileages were 150167.

Conditions: 45*f +/- rain, tornado warning in effect. 3:30pm my vehicle had its headlights, driving lights and windshield wipers on. Vehicles involved:2004 dodge ram 3500 crew cab long bed 4x4 diesel (mine)mid 90's chevrolet lumina sedani was traveling northbound on yellowstone road behind a mid 90's chevrolet lumina. I was traveling behind them at or below the posted speed limit of 55mph when the lumina signaled to turn right and braked; as soon as they braked i began to brake just as a precaution. They then proceeded to pull all the way past the white line onto the right side of the road with their vehicle being completely situated on the shoulder with their right turn signal still on at which point they where approaching a driveway on their right side. I did not accelerate and then i saw the chevrolet's front wheels begin to turn left at which point i turned left as hard i as possible. They were making in illegal u-turn on a state hwy with double yellow lines. I turned as hard as possible but the accident was unavoidable and my dodge's passenger side front bumper made contact with the driver's side front door of the chevrolet when the front end of their car was halfway across the southbound lane of traffic. Upon impact my airbags deployed. I did not however touch them other than my left arm being brushed up against it upon deployment. At which point the buckle of my seatbelt came undone and the tensioner did not retract. I then proceeded to go down a small ravine, through a culvert with my passenger side and through a wood fence at the bottom of the ravine. All while being unbelted due to the seatbelt failing. I was able to self extricate from my vehicle. I have been treated for back, neck, and hip pain and will be beginning rehabilitation. The truck was totaled and is available for inspection upon request.
Turn signal not showing correct direction or not working at all. Wet weather may have something to do with it. Tilt steering wheel usually affects the situation.
I have a 2004 dodge ram 3500. I have had 4 #2 injection lines break on it since 10 nov 2009. I have called both dodge and cummins on the issue. Cummins said to call dodge, and dodge said it was "noted" and they would look into it. The problem that i have with it is that when it breaks it sprays desiel fuel onto the turbo charger. That reches temperaturesthat exceed the lower flamability rate of desiel fuel. But lucklily it has not caught fire yet. But 4 lines in six months seems to be excessive. I have seen a trend while trying to locate the part. Almost all of the parts dealers knows which injection line is broken before i tell them. So it has to be a common problem. And this particular injection is usually on back order. I think it is a severe saftey issue. And i would like to see it gget fixed or addresed before anyone gets burned up in a vehicle due to the fuel ignition.
2004 dodge 3500 cummins diesel injectors went out on it, died in the middle of the street, after starting hard for a few weeks. Mechanic replaced injectors, less than 2000 miles on new ones and they went out again. Cummins mechanic says whole engine is bad, there were 4 other trucks at mechanic with same problem.
Driving my diesel, 1 ton, 2004, 4x4 truck with 66,000 miles, turning left across traffic into a business.engine stops, no brakes, no steering, no warning, nothing. Never had a problem with this truck before this event.traffic is coming at us and i am headed into a ditch as i cannot turn vehicle. Frantically trying to get vehicle started, will not start, but able to roll forward and make it into business barely missing ditch.people come out to help push vehicle into safe spot.called tow truck, they get there about 1.5 hours later.he got truck started, said to drive it down the street that probably something clogged the diesel tank inlet, but ok now. Truck seemed ok, so we hooked up our boat that was in this business, proceeded home.got about 1 mile away on twisty mountain road, truck again dies, no brakes again, cannot hardly steer and cannot stop boat and truck and proceed down hill holding on trying to stay on road.i managed to get it stopped.had it towed to dealer this time.dodge dealer explains that the "lift pump" that pulls diesel fuel from tank to engine had gone out, they state "this is common problem that dodge knows about."they refuse to replace the "lift pump" that is fairly inexpensive saying that dodge knows there is a problem and the consumer has to pay to have a "fuel pump" put into the fuel tank as the fix.this cost is over $1400.upon hearing that i cannot have the "lift pump" just replaced, i went to the internet forums on cummings diesel "lift pumps" turns out there are lots of pages showing this is a common problem with the cummings diesel and most all will experience it.if dodge knows there is a problem and people can be killed due to how the truck suddenly dies, they should be responsible for addressing the problem!
While driving on the interstate 35 i noticed smoking coming from my vehicle, as i pulled over the smoke become thick and rolled out from under the hood of my truck. I immediately open the hood to find diesel fuel covering the complete engine compartment and noticed fuel spraying from the number four fuel injection line. I am a mechanic so called dodge dealer to get new line (part #5086874-ac) for my cummins 5.9 engine. After talking to the parts man he said this is a common problem and they have redesigned the clamping system on the line. I feel this is a very dangerous situation, when this line leaks it is under high pressure and sprays fuel all over the engine. I feel i was very lucky that the fuel did not ignite and burn up my truck. I would highly recommend owners are notified about the new line so they can replace it before it leaks.
We have had a fuel problem issue with this truck since april of 2005 it bucks so hard it bruises you.we have replace everything possible and it still happens. They say it is water in fuel but it is not that.we have had several high pressure injector lines break.one caused a fire, diesel was going everywhere.we had several break after that.they have no clue why these injectors are breaking but we owe to much to trade in. It is just ashamed that you can not go anywhere safe in a 42,000 truck.we have stressed our concerns with dodge they said not there problem .
Dt:vehicle stalled on highway due to badfuel pump.2004 dodge picked up and stalledon highway more than once.dealership could not replace the original fuel pump because daimler/chryslersaid the original fuelpump was defective, and they would like todo it in the fuel tank and rewire it. Feels this is a safety hazard.
Vehicle stalled inadvertently. Vehicle could be driven at any speed and this defect could occur.
Steering became loose and had 1-2inches of slack before guiding the vehicle properly. Replaced with new steering unit.transmission would not shift into low gear at busy intersection entering freeway.started in second or third required costly rebuild.fuel gauge reads empty required new unit in fuel tank.
Truck currently has 76,000 miles. Replaced all 4 ball joints at the same time, fewer than 40k. Had to replace an injector around the same time. Filters dodge came out with were too large, letting "junk" into the injectors. Not ong after that, we were driving and lost power. Pulled to side of road, saw belts hanging down. Popped the hood and the pulley(?) the belts attach to had snapped off! fortunately, we were on a county road, driving slowly. Then, at 76k, the front left wheel locked up, causing us to have to replace the entire front axle system. We were stopped at a stop sign, then proceeded to pull forward. About halfway across the intersection, left wheel locked up. We could go in reverse, but not forward. Injectors are clogging up as well and will most likely have to be replaced. We bought this new in 2005 for $42,000. It has had an 'easy' life with very little towing.

I have had a vibration and "death wobble" on my truck since i purchased it. It has been to two different chrysler dealers for a total of 5 or 6 times without resolution of the issue. The issue is two fold, one is when i hit a large bump at speeds greater than 45 mph the steering wheel shakes violently, and the other this speeds over 60 mph there is a vibration. I have spoken to chrysler about the issues about a year or so ago. They tried to offer buy back because the issue could not be resolved, but then told me i was not qualified because i was the second owner. I also had to have the steering gear box replaced under warranty, and theyreplaced all the tie-rod ends ect. The issues is still the same without resolution. Now my warranty is up, and the truck still has this potential dangers issues and i have no where to go. Anytime i have the truck looked at now it cost me a lot of money. My truck has recall 13v-528 and 09e-001 which relate to these issues. The truck was inspected, but they did not fix anything.
Consumer states he pulled up in his back yard after driving his vehicle, put his vehicle in park cut it off.he then got out of the vehicle walked around to the rear of the truck to open the tail gate and noticed the truck was moving backward.he states he tried to catch it, but was unsuccessful, it knocked him down.he then could do no more than just lie on the ground and watch the vehicle run into his gate.he says this has happened before with his son. He says he is just fortunate that he or his son was standing iin the way of the vehicle when it begin to roll.he states that the park pawl do not engage securely, causing it to just out of park and into reverse.he states he has looked on the internet and there are other complaints of the same nature.he says this incident happened 8/27/04.
The contact owns 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving 75 mph, the vehicle started vibrating violently and exhibited an abnormal noise. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal and it failed to engage. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The failure was not diagnosed. Both the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 137,000.
I bought this truck new and i believe code e17 is the transmission does not always go into park. It stays in reverse i have had close calls with this problem. It is a real concern. The dam signal horn to alert you is to slow to respond and fails when pulling into a parking spot. Also i lost my serpentine belt which caused braking and steering dangerously difficult this was on a city street. It caused me to drive on the wrong side of the road for quite a distance. Both of these issues i have complained shortly after buying new. Dealer denied problems until recalls

The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. Since 2005, the contact experienced difficulty shifting the gear into park. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v462000 (power train) in 2006. The vehicle was taken to naples dodge chrysler jeep (6381 airport pulling rd n, naples, fl 34109) where the technician informed the contact that the recall had been repaired once for a computer upgrade. Even though the recall failure recurred, there would be an out of pocket cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 2,000.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 05v462000 (air bags). While the vehicle was in park, it accelerated in reverse. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the contact did not know what component was diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired, but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 74,900.
I put my truck into park and was walking around the rear to check my mailbox and the truck started rolling forward and hit my main gate, which was closed and had a slide bolt closed.i ran around to the door to try to jump into the cab (thinking my gate had stopped the truck) when my gate crashed open (bending the heavy bolt and tearing one of the gates down and bending the other gate) and it kept moving toward a tree.like an idiot, i ran and grabbed the grab bar and jumped into the cab and hit the brakes.if i had fallen i would have been run over by the dually wheels or if headed out the gate, could have hit a car.this is the second time it happened - originally it happened back in 2005 and i thought i had just neglected to put the truck into park, but the second time it happened i realized there was a problem with the truck and not me.
Piece of crap, loss of power, drive train dont hold up to loads that it states that it could pull, clutch slips when accelerating vehicle.
New dodge ram 3500 with only 35 miles went into reverse on its own knocked me over then proceeded on its own out the driveway and acrossthe street before i was able to get back up and catch it. The truck will not go into park, and when the shift lever is in the park position and the indicator reads reverse. Drive and neutral seem to operate correctly but the dash indicator does not show it to be in neutral at times.

He stated that since the recall repair was completed on the vehicle he had problems with the horn.he has had a crash with the new recall repair.while backing up the vehicle to the trailer he opened the driver's side door to continue backing up and the horn inadvertently went off. The contact then jumped out of the vehicle and the truck crashed intothe trailer.the contact stated that if thevehicle was not in park and he opened the truck door the horn would go off startling him quite a bit, andmaking him nervous.the contact felt this wasa safety problem.he was a veteran and had issues with startlingwhile backing up. 2004 dodge ram 3500 transmission slipped from park to reverse.*mr*sc
I own a 2004 doge ram 3500 with an automatic transmission, i have found that on some occasions the transmission will not engauge in park even though it says it is in park. When this happens it will go back into reverse, usually when you have exited the truck and it starts going backwards.
When the vehicle was left idling in the park position, the transmission slipped into reverse and the vehicle rolled into a tree.*sc
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500.the contact stated that the gears shift from park to reverse, causing the vehicle to roll without warning.the first incident occurred when the parked vehicle suddenly rolled and struck a concrete pillar.the contact called the manufacturer about the failure and a representative inspected the vehicle.the representative was unable to find any failures.one year later, the contact received recall letter # 05v462000 (power train:automatic transmission).the dealer stated that many customers are removing the remedy because it does not help.the contact also stated that her husband was involved in a crash during one of the failures and injured his back.the vehicle has sustained damage during three out of the four failures.the current mileage is 90,000 and failure mileage was 300.
I purchased a 2004.5 dodge ram 3500 diesel new last year. About 4 months age i was getting fuel and was parked at a gas station with the truck in park and running. My wife was sitting in the vehicle. As i was about to fuel the truck suddenly went into reverse and struck a vehicle that was behind me also getting gas. No damage or injuries.on 05/02/05, i exited my truck to give mail to a letter carrier. I exited the truck and waited for the carrier to come out of a store. All of a sudden the truck went into reverse. I started to run after the truck and fell causing my shoulder to be dislocated. The truck ran into the parked mail truck that was behind me. I also injured my other arm (left), my two knees, and my forhead.
Consumer was under the impression that the vehicle was in park . After leaving the vehicle running vehicle slipped into reverse and rolled backwards, colliding with a vehicle behind it.when the gear shifter was put in park consumer was unaware that the shifter needed to be hooked over and seated to the right.there were no injuries involved. Policearrived, but,no one was cited.
Rm 3500 4x4 long bed quad cab. I have a stock truck. Tie rod ends are shot, steering gear box is shot, ball joints need to be replaced but now fall in the "limits" that dodge decided to extend the measurements. My truck is a 2004 with only 106,000 highway miles. My friend has the same truck but dually 05 and has 62,000 miles and has to replace the same thing other than his steering gear box for now.cost for me to repair with labor is $1300.00 how can parts go out this quick is beyond me. I have owned every truck and never had i needed to replace these kind of parts with low miles.
My brother was drving my 2004 dodge ram 3500 vehicle to pull my boat out of the water from the boat landing. We were both in the vehicle as we pulled up to a flat area to clean the boat off vehicle was placed in park with engine running. I the owner got out first to go talk to the people ahead of us while my brother was in truckfor about a minute before he exited the vehicle. We were talking with the other people for about 2-3 minutes when one of them noticed the truck going in reverse, we all turned and saw it going in reverse as it jackknifed the trailer and stopped. It caused damage to the bumper, fender, tailpipe of the vehicle and damage to the boat trailer in one area. No damage to boat.
The vehicle slipped out of the park gear and had gone into reverse, causing the vehicle to crash into a building.the manufacturer was contacted by the consumer.see also 10111596. *dsy *sc
Employee stopped vehicle and put in park, got out of truck and went inside the tool room and when he came out, he saw the truck moving backwards. He ran to get in it and the truck continued to move and hit a pole. The damage was done to the back left quarter panel, bumper, and tail gate. Needs all new parts for those and taillights. We still have all the old parts . Notification code e17. We received a letter from daimler chrysler about a recall for this same problem.
Dt: shifter moved from park to reverse while parked with the engine running.
My 2004.5 dodge 3500 truck while in park with engine running shifted into reverse, causing damage to three vehicles. Fortunately no one was hurt. This is the third time the transmission has jumped out of park, the first two i thought maybe i didn't have it all the way in park, so i became aware to check it, which i did before this last episode. Although i didn't have the parking brake on, i believe this poses a very serious safety problem, which others may be experiencing as well.
My 2004 dodge ram 3500,automatic with diesel engine went into reverse without notice on 06-01-2006.the vehicle was put into park before i opened the drivers door. I parked the truck, with the motor running and put the automatic transmission in park.i left the truck to mail some letters.i was gone less than a minute and when i returned to the truck, it was across the street and up against a large tree. I spoke with them in front of pickup to use the headlights to see.after 7 to 10 min we proceeded to walk through the barn and after we got half way we heard someone yell, then a loud crash!!.we came running only to find our truck 60 yards away from where i left it,stopped only by a tree.the damage was extensive to the right rear of the truck. When we notified dodge chrysler about the problem they sent someone out to investigate and there report said they had not heard about this happening before and deemed it to be human error. They stood there and blamed us when all along knowing there was a problem.3weeks later we received the a recall in the mail.i called chrysler right awayand they where unwilling to accept any responsibility for damages or there behavior.they only offered to install a parking alarm. It is to little and much to late for us now.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500.at 62,000 miles, an oil change was performed on the vehicle.as a result of the oil change, the front cv joint on the driveshaft failed and damaged the transmission, the transfer case, and the floor board.the bearings lacked the proper amount of grease.the dealer stated that the cross members needed to be able to catch the driveshaft.however, if the contact is driving at a high rate of speed, he could damage the cross members.the dealer also stated that they could and would not service the vehicle because it was driven too long after the component failed and the parts are no longer under warranty.general motors informed the dealer to no longer give the contact any further information due to the propriety issues associated with the defect.the contact stated that when the floor board gave in, it mildly injured his son's foot.also, the floor board severed several pipe lines.the current mileage is 66,000 and failure mileage was 62,000.

-the contact had the recall repair for 05v462000 (power train: automatic transmission) performed on his 2004 dodge ram 3500 and now wants the recall work undone.the reason he wanted it returned to the prior condition is that the vehicle keeps honking and the vehicle head lights are flashing every time he leaves the vehicle idling.in order for the vehicle to stop honking and the lights to stop flashing the contact would have to shut it off completely.the failure and current mileage were both 36000 miles.

Dodge ram 3500 with cummins diesel.i got out of the truck on an absolutely flat parking lot, believing it to be in park. Walked 30-40 feet and then vehicle began moving in reverse gear at idle and hit a car. Dodge personnel have told me that due to the high torque, it is physically impossible to exit the vehicle. As soon as the foot is removed from the break, if it is in gear it will move at a pace faster than a person can exit.
Park position on tranmission faulty. I shifted into park and it dropped into reverse and i had a runaway powered reverse incident.
For the last few days we have been having trouble getting the column shift to move.my wife put the truck in reverse according to the dial on the dash, however the truck would not move.had to wiggle the shifter to get it to go into reverse.today, the truck was parked on level ground with engine not running however the key was still in the ignition.approx. 5 minutes later the truck rolled backward eventually going down a hill, knocking down a small tree, continued across a street, jumped the curb, through a yard and hit an enclosed car trailer.extensive rearend damage and insurance/repair is in process.
2005 dodge 3500 extended cab4x4,i stopped with a passenger in truck on level ground and placed it in park w/engine running. Then, i removed my seat belt and exited the truck. I walked about 10 yards away and started to talk to a neighbor. I heard the passenger yell that the truck was rolling. I turned and ran to the truck as the passenger tried to exit the truck, but the shoulder harness tangled around her arm, and the truck was rolling in reverse. The door knocked her off her feet but she was still caught by the shoulder harness, and was being dragged as the truck continued to roll backwards. I caught up to the truck and dove in the open passenger door at the same time that she rolled under the cab. I got my hand on the brake and the truck came to a stop, but the front wheelrolled onto her hip and thigh. I put the truck in drive, it had dropped into reverse from park, pulling it forward, and she rolled free. She went by ambulance to thehospital and was later released.

2004 dodge 3500 truck front l/h wheel hub assy bearing came apart at 70 mph causing the truck to cross over 2 lanes of traffic and into oncoming traffic.dodge dealer told me this is a problem.but it cost me 350 dollars this to me is a safety issue and a customer should not have to pay the cost or die due to this.
1) my 1 ton 3500 dodge truck just came out of park on its own after about 5 minutes and backed into the side of another car. I was sitting in the drivers seat using the phone and in park and it decided to go into reverse after about 5 minutes2) the right front wheel bearing seized up from lack of grease at 52,200 miles. No damage or accident, it just sounded really bad and quit turning
Noticed a vibration when reaching speeds over 72 miles per hour. Contacted local dealer regarding problem. The first time the truck was in for service the local dealer decided to put in a new drive line and aligned it. After this service the vibration still existed. Soon after the truck stalled in the middle of a very busy highway due to a malfunctioning fuel injector pump. I believe this was caused by the ever present vibration. Second time local dealer saw the truck they replaced the fuel injector pump and tried to re-align to fix the vibration. This still didn't solve the vibration. A review of the complaints on this site it appears that this is a nation wide problem and defect in this truck. Ak
Vibration in the drivetrain at high speeds, starting at about 72 miles per hour.6 attempts of balancing drive train and wheels have not solved the problem.vibration is enough to numb hands and feet and distort the rear view mirror images.
Consumer complained about front driveshaft problem.it was causing the vehicle to vibrate while driving at highway speed.manufacturer was aware of the drive shaft problem. Manufacturer offered to repair the defect at a time which was not conducive to the consumer.*tc

My 2004 dodge 3500 4x4 has a front end problem...it shakes uncontrollably when it hits a series of bumps in the road at or above 45mph. I have replaced the steering stabilizer and the front shocks to only have it get worse. It happens enough now that i don't dare go above 60 mph for fear of crashing the truck or hitting somebody else. It gets even worse when i pull my trailer.

Traveling 55 mph, truck hit a small bump .truck started to shake violently left and right, could not control it. Started to pull off road when hit a wall due to steering.no way to control this truck.has been maintained form dodge always.stay away from these trucks. Very dangerous.
Truck started to have severe drivability problems with the front end.had received a recall notice for both the steering linkage and left ball joint.took into dealer who performed the physical inspection.was told that our vehicle was not part of the recall due to configuration but the whole front end need to be replaced and all parts needed where exactly the parts under the recall if our truck had the configuration covered by the recall.we were faced with paying for the repairs base on some technicality that somehow our configuration excluded us from the safety hazard which caused the recall.we do not feel it is a coincidence that the repair needed were exactly the now that were under the recall but our truck was not part of the recall.our opinion is the recall is too narrow and the safety issue is broader than how it is set up now.
Hit a pot hole and the entire steering system began to shake violently. Could not control vehicle steering while it was shaking.
Purchased used 2004 dodge 3500 and while driving homedoing 60 mph i experienced such a violent shacking of the front end i nearly loss control of my truck and struck another vehicle on the highway.my wife and i could have been killed.i later learned that this truck suffers from death wobble which dodge is aware of.as a retired police officer with 30 years i would have towed this truck as unsafe until proper repairs were made based on the violent shaking and loss of steering control the driver experiences.very dangerous situation that needs to be addressed.

Truck was purchased june 2,2009. Started having injector/lift pump problems. Scheduled appt for diagnostic for 6/5/2009. Did not fix that problem and the truck was still in warranty. Performed recall h46 for tie rod end and then the problems began. Demon shake periodically at 50+ mph . Was told nothing could be done about it. Brought truck back in for injector/ lift pump problem again, now the truck was out of warranty and surprisingly needed thousands of dollars in repair. We had to foot the bill.demon shake continues getting worse to this day. Has been looked at again and was told there is no fix. Fortunately , no one has yet been hurt. You never know when it is going to occur. Today, i see a buy back and my truck is not on it... I have had the same problem since purchase. Why should my safety not be as important as a newer truck owner?

This has happened before back in 2010 and i put an extra stabilizer on the front and upper and lower ball joints and a few more pieces all made by moog but the front end still shakes almost uncontrollable and i have to slow down real fast before i cause an accident i'm afraid it's going to make me wreck
In december 2009 i was involved in an accident in my 2004 3500 dodge ram while on my way to work. It was hit in the driver's side front tire which caused front suspension damage. The truck was not drivable. I called aaa and had it towed to telegraph chrysler jeep and that's where i had the repairs done. The damage was quite extensive and most (if not all) of the front steering components were replaced. The truck only had 63,285 miles on it at the time. On monday, may 30th 2011(memorial day) my wife was backing my truck into the driveway when the left outer tie rod broke and left the truck blocking the street. I was able to move the truck into my driveway by jacking it up and straightening the tire and continuing to do so every few feet until it was clear of the road. If this would have happened less than 24 hrs earlier it would have broke while i was towing a friends chevy van down i-75 at 70 mph!i had it towed to telegraph chrysler jeep because i knew that they had replaced that tie rod less than 3000 miles ago from the accident claim. They told me the part was out of warranty to call chrysler directly. They also told me that they couldn't sell me the part because chrysler's policy on this was they had to sell me the entire front steering component package and it would cost me over $600.00! after a dozen or two phone calls back and forth to my employer (yes i work for these ingrates!) they told me there was nothing they could do. After not being able to purchase the part i needed from the dealer and not able to find the part at a local parts store i done some research and found they replaced the 2004 steering parts with 2008 components and this was supposed to be an upgrade!? i finally found the part i needed and since aaa wouldn't tow it back home i had to fix it myself in their parking lot! my trucks extended warranty expired the week before the tie rod broke and they pretty much said tough[xxx]! that's how not to get your employees to' buy what you build"!information redacted pursuant to the freedom

I bought this 2004 dodge 3500 ram truck used in may 2011.i was driving my 2004 dodge 3500 ram truck in town when the left tie rod stud broke.i was stopped at a stop sign 1/2 block from my home and as i started out and turned right the tie rod stud broke.this occurred november 11, 2012.i had my vehicle towed to my home using my aaa wrecker service.there is no chrysler-dodge dealership in the town where i live, so i went to the local auto parts store to get the new left tie rod.the parts store did not have a tie rod for my vehicle and the counter person called the parts department at lithia chrysler dodge in billings, mt and ordered a new left tie rod, (mopar part no.68038054ad).i received the left tie rod on november 12, 2012 for which i paid $131.07 for which i have the receipt.i installed the new mopar tie rod and set the toe-in.i still have the broken left tie rod.on jan 15, 2014, i received the n62 recall notice for the left tie rod stud may fracture and the recall notice also stated my vehicle needed h46 done.i could find no history of the left tie rod being replaced, prior to the new one i put on myself, so i assume the tie rod was original from the factory.i did file a claim with chrysler (case #24530878), but they denied the claim because i could not prove the broken tie rod had been replaced with a mopar part.my concern is why the tie rod broke and if that means the factory tie rods are defective.i had recalls l16/h46/n62 completed on february 26, 2014.the dealership replaced all the steering linkage and the left tie rod assembly.

Since this truck was new it would shake violently in the front end when you hit a slight bump at 60 mph changed everything in front end and added steering dampener recommended by dealer. Does it more often now. We have named it the death rattle.

2005 dodge ram 3500 on a couple of occasions power steering fluid had come out the cap of the pump. Power steering pump replaced by jim doran dodge in mcminnville, or after complete failure of power assist. About 6000 miles after the replacement pump was installed, while making a corner the steering wheel froze and would not turn-upon hitting the brakes the brake pedal was solid and would not move or apply any braking action. After a couple of seconds it went back to normal and i proceeded into a service station cautiously, while turning around at the station the condition recurred for a couple more seconds. Upon returning to the dealership they assessed the vehicle. They had no clue about a intermittent loss of power assist and system freeze but said the power steering pump was bad but denied warranty to replace it. It has since done this on a number of occasions but with no regular frequency.upon taking the vehicle to another dodge dealership they said they couldn't do anything if it didn't happen when they test drove it.

My 2004 ram 3500 has had extreme road/wind noise through the front driver/passenger door seals.this instance, though not a safety hazard is very irritating while traveling longer distances at highway speeds.i have had a dealer repair to the driver's door and they made a mess of it.my old seal was removed and replaced.the old seal was cut down and a portion was glued to the door frame structure.couple of notes on this fix.it didn't fix the problem and it was poorly done.my door is now covered with ugly black sealant and a terrible looking cut portion of an old door seal.i complained to the dealership and they related that this was the only fix they had but would contact me when a better fix came out.i have never been contacted.i have a friend with the same truck and he just let me know that a new seal has been developed.he had it installed this week and it works great with no old seal use and no ugly black sealant all over. I wonder when my dealership plans to call me?my guess is never.
"tamara recall".driving down road hit a slight bump got the death wobble and had to slow down to 30mph or lower to get it back under control on the freeway.have had the front end rebuilt 3 times by professionals and now doing it again or still.
When driving on the highway i hit a series of bumps at 60 mph and my truck began to shake violently. I then had to slow down to 30mph to regain control.
This has happened before back in 2010 and i put an extra stabilizer on the front and upper and lower ball joints and a few more pieces all made by moog but the front end still shakes almost uncontrollable and i have to slow down real fast before i cause an accident i'm afraid it's going to make me wreck
I have been on the waiting list at the local dodge dealer (mccord in longview, wa.) for a couple of months to replace this tie rod ball. Now i have been told that it is a restrictive part and chrysler corp. Is only sending one tie rod per seven days. Looking at where i am at in the stack of recalls, there could be several hundred ahead of me and that suggest to me that my truck could be sitting for almost a year. This is unacceptable. To issue a large recall such as this and not have parts available is irresponsible. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. The recall is : n62 / nhtsa 13v-528[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Since this truck was new it would shake violently in the front end when you hit a slight bump at 60 mph changed everything in front end and added steering dampener recommended by dealer. Does it more often now. We have named it the death rattle.
While driving 75 mph vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
Dodge 2004 3500 pickup. 100,000 miles has developed "death wobble". Front end shakes extremely violently when truck hits a bump above 65 mph> have replaced ball joints, tie rod ends and steering dampener with no success.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500.the contact was driving 65 mph when the contact drove over a pothole and the front end of the vehicle began shaking violently.the contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer for a diagnostic test.the contact stated the vehicle was unsafe to drive, especially while pulling a fifth wheel. The failure mileage was 87,100.
I"m having problems, with the dodge ram 3500 truck , front suspension had to be repaired, fuel/propulsion system. Still having electrical problems, inside light stays on while vechicle is in motion. Looses power at timegoing up hills.
My dodge trucks violently wobbling out of control at highway speeds.while driving at about 60 mph, i hit a minor bump in the roadway and the truck started shaking violently. The only way it stopped was i had to reduce my speed to 10 mph, the problem was i was in the express lane, i was in front of a semi truck
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph over an uneven road surface, the front end of the vehicle began shaking violently. The dealer was contacted and was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Have a 2004 dodge 3500 ramit has the death wobble and every thing is tight under the truckbut when you hit that bump in the road the front end goes crazy till you slow down to about 20mph try that on the freeway.
Dodge ram 3500 4x4 2004 front end has violent front shake called death wobble happens when truck hits uneven road surface . Dodge dealership says they cannot find anything wrong .
The front end shakes whenreaching 60 mph. Consumer was thrown from the highway, and the vehicle could not be controlled.the dealer stated was made with the manufacturer.however, they have not made contact with the consumer.

I was reversing from my drive way and then put my truck on drive to go up the drive way and then turned the gear shift counter clock wise to put it on park. Got out of my truck and walked in front of it and then ran inside the house to grab what i forgot. When i came back outside, my truck was moving foward by itself, the truck shifted by itself from park to drive. I ran to the passenger side and turned the knob back to park to stop the truck. The truckhit the corner of the house and damaged my house and truck. I waslucky enough to stop it before it went all the way inside the house. Thank god i'm here to tell the story and not under the tire. I tried reporting to chryseler and they said it was my fault for not putting the parking break on and i stepped out and left the truck runnning. I explained to them that its not a manual transmission and it wasnt parked downhill. Got nothing out of them!
Automatic trans.-when placed in park, cannot get it out of park it seems as though the solenoid that releases the parking pawl does not always release.
2004 dodge ram 3500. Consumer writes in regards to numerous repairs made to vehicle. *ldthe consumer stated the dealer has held the vehicle without making any repairs, or predictions on when the repairs would be completed.
The rivets holding the hinges to the udercover tonneau ( http://www.undercoverinfo.com/products/classic )cover come loose often ad have to be replaced this has happened about 5 times fortunately the cover has not flow off killing somebody behind me on the freeway i keep a ratchet strap with me to tie secure it to the bed i would say that this is hazard, i was told by undercover that they designed it this way so that the rivets would give way without breaking the cover itself. I think there should be a reall for this product i am very displeasedhttp://www.autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/undercover-reviews?kc=googadw&k_clickid=bfb44c1d-8745-4e06-b28b-985400d9ee34&adgroupid=212106&k_trackingid=139x3994903&gclid=ckd72dbss8gcfqrufgodx-cdzq this has happended while i was on the freewy moving and when stationary and i open the cover
Engine revving to 3000 rpm and not idle down. Had to ride brakes put trans in neutral or park to stop. Breaks would not stop truck only slow it.shop found cod p0606 ecm/pcm communication failure.why did this not put the truck in limp mode or prevent it from starting. Replaced ecm/pcm control module truck runs fine. Very expensive 3400 dollars.
While driving on a busy interstate highway recentally and pulling a car trailer, i was returning home from a vacation when the throttle position sensor (tps) failed.this results in a "dead pedal" situation, where the engine falls to idle, and there is no 'drive' to the wheels.this situation is very serious as sometimes there is no where to pull off the interstate, due to traffic lane narrowing.my personal situation was that i was able to coast to the side of the road.to re-set the tps, you must stop, put in park, turn the ignition off, wait approx. 10-15 seconds, and then re-start.it should re-set and you can drive away, although a 'check engine' light appears.in my case, the tps failed a second time, a short distance away, and i had to repeat the steps.the second time it "worked" and i was able to drive home. This failure of the tps had a profound effect on me personally.there is no warning that this is about to happen.when it does happen, you have no throttle input and you must get off the road.all i could think about during those moments of panic, was being smashed into from the rear!i am aware this is an issue with my type of vehicle as i have done some follow up research on the internet following my incident.i want to inform you, that i purchased the vehicle new in 2004.this vehicle is immaculate, and all maintenance is performed at the local dealer.in car guys terms, this vehicle would be considered a "garage queen" and there would be no contributing factors such as lack of maintaince, dirt, road grime, or abuse. I am convinced this situation will lead to a serious accident, if not to me, then to someone else, and i want to inform you of this potential serious issue.i have spoken to the dealer/mechanic and the solution is a tps replacement, but in my opinion, this should never happen in the first place.
2004 dodge ram 3500 pickupcummins 5.9 liter diesel engine. 1/17/2009under/over acceleration.vehicle is a "drive by wire" design.problem happened very sporadically. Would only happen when vehicle and outside air temp was 20 degrees f or lower. Problem happened about 4 times during the winter of 2007-2008. Problem at that time was only under acceleration. I would be driving down the highway at between 55 and 70 mph. The tuck would suddenly not maintain speed and would not accelerate. Pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor would produce no response from the engine. Check engine light comes on. After a few seconds truck drives normally again. This scenario has happened 8 to 10 times.over acceleration. This happened twice on 1/13/09.again truck had been sitting outside all day. Started truck and all was normal for the first 5 or 10 minutes of driving. I was driving down the highway at a steady speed of 60 mph. With no input from me suddenly the truck accelerated very rapidly. The transmission down shifted and the engine rpm jumped up considerably. In my panic i stabbed the brake pedal and was able to slow the truck somewhat. After accelerating wildly for about 1 to 2 seconds the truck then went into the under acceleration mode. Now pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor would get zero response from the engine. This sudden over acceleration happened again about ten miles further down the road. Luckily the roads were dry and there were no vehicles close enough to me to cause any crash.i replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor and so far the problem has not returned.this is a great concern because of what might have happened during the over acceleration. If the road was snow covered or icy the outcome could have been very serious or even deadly.
Consumer noticed that the vehicle shifted gears on it own.while the vehicle wasparked itshifted into reverse. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Also, while applying the accelerator pedal vehicle failed to accelerate.after applying the accelerator pedal numerous times vehicle accelerated uncontrollably. However, consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic could not duplicate the problem.the consumer parked the vehicle and was walking behind the vehicle and it started rolling backwards catching the consumer between the bumper and the car 8-10 feet behind it.the consumer was injured.*tc
Started truck up let warm and defrost windows.snowing and freezing cold temps. After warming up truck left house about 1/2 mile windows frozen over and could not see out.pulled off road defroster was not switching to blow air on window.just bought truck used. Local dealer informed me did 2-3 repairs a week for this but no recalls yet. Wanted 750.00 to fix.dodge ram trucks all series.
Wipers fail to go into high speed or function on interval during periods of high humidity or rain.
Message: i drive a 3500 dodge ram pick up truck. Recently i was beginning to have difficulty seeing due to windshieldfogging up. I turned on the defroster on and there was no helpin the visibility through the windshield. My visibility went to zero veryquickly. I veered off the highway and into a ditch before i could get my vehicle stopped. Upon investigation of the problem, i discovered that the blend door in the hvac system had broken. The blend door directs the air to the appropriate vents as directed by the vehicle operator. The door being broken would prevent the direction of air to anywhere except the default location which in this case would be the dash vents. This is a major safety problem in this vehicle. The default location of this door should with out a doubt be the defrost location.after having this near miss i have investigated other reports of thisvehicle and found that they are numerous. My determination of thissafety issue is that chrysler should immediately have a safety recall to address this issue.
Heater control door failure. 2 occurrences. First (aug 2012 ) was the a door which did not allow air flow to any vents as it should. Second was a mode control door (12/31/2012), only allowing air to the dash vents, none to the defroster. Potential to restrict visibility in winter conditions due to inability to defrost/melt accumulations on the windshield.this seems to be a fairly prevalent issue on these vehicles.
Vehicle had faulty wiper motor.replaced with remanufactred unit from oreilys auto parts. After replacement wipers will stop working during heavy rainfall. The wipers will not work again until you stop and tug on the wiper arms.
My dodge has had a problem with the blend doors for quite some time in my truck. It will not go to defrost so when i drive my windshield fogs up and this relates to me having to pull over so that i do not get into an accident. It is a safety issue that needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. They use a plastic piece for the blend door that breaks and wont let the vents open or close. It is ridiculous and cheap part. The prongs are not even matched up you have a 5 prong on the actuator switch that goes into a 3 prong. The friction causes it to break. A dealer will charge the customer upwards of $1200 to fix because they have to pull the whole vent box out. There are numerous dodge forums that address this issue as well. In order to get the word out to you guys i'm making this complaint. Deaths can happen because of this cheap engineering that needs to be fixed and my truck is 2004. I do notbelieve dodge has addressed the issue as of yet they are still using the same cheap parts even thought 1000's of people have complained, but possibly not to you guys.
The contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 3500. While driving various speeds and towing a trailer, the flip up tow mirrors vibrated abnormally. The contact stated that it was impossible to use the tow mirrors due to the vibration. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The contact was informed that the mirrors needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned that there was no way to tighten the mirrors. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,419.
This complaint is for wiper motor sudden failure on a remanufactured part supplied from oreily auto parts. I replace my wiper motor when the originals wiper park function became finicky. I installed the rebuild motor to factory spec and it functioned properly for about 3 months and proceeded to fail in a major rain storm the wipers would be running full speed then just stop and would resume after about 20 seconds this problem only occurred in heavy rainfall on the hi setting. When it first happened my vehicle partially left the roadway because i misjudged the shoulder width from poor visibility. I exchanged the faulty motor at oreilys for another rebuild motor which lasted about 6 months and it also failed in the high setting in heavy rain in this case it went from working just fine to making a large screeching noise on one wipe and it quit completely this unit did not come back to life. I again exchanged it for another rebuilt unit for oreilysand the new unit lasted about a month and also has failed. It will work fine but just stop working at random until you jerk the wiper arms then it will start working again. This unit was returned to oreilys and i purchased a new unit from dodge. The fact the quality of the parts are so poor it put myself and others in the public at risk due to a high rate of failure from a essential safety component to allow me to see where i am going. The failures occurred on the highways city streets while in motion and at times turning
The vents on my 2004 dodge 3500 diesel stay on the front vents and will not change with the knob. After reading about this problem it appears to be the blend doors as well as the hvac component. There are numerous complaints on dodge websites about this. The cost is over $600 dollars due to the labor of pulling the entire dash out of the truck and replacing the parts. The parts are around $50 dollars.they used cheap plastic that wears out.
There is an exhaust leak coming through the air vents when the hvac fan is turned on. I was a little dizzy & had a headache after a long drive back home from san antonio. After talking to a physician about my condition, he felt that the cause was most certainly carbon monoxide poisoning. I have mentioned this problem to the dealership & they have been unresponsive. They say that they have never heard of this problem before & there is no fix. I've researched the internet & found many others that have experienced a similar problem so i know i'm not alone. There is even one gentlemen that believes he has the fix. Apparently dodge didn't cover some of the holes between the engine compartment & were the hvac system draws fresh air for the cab. This needs to be fixed as this may injure someone terribly.
The windshield wipers fail to operate properly on my 2004 dodge ram 3500 in the intermittent or delay settings.sometimes while in intermittent settings, the wiper quit working altogether.i can get them to work again by playing with the wiper switch and placing it in the high speed mode.however, this causes me to be distracted while driving down the road in the rain, with no functioning wipers.this has been happening for 6 months, with 11 repair attempts by anchorage chrysler.to date there has been no resolution to the problem.the problem seems to occur more frequently with more moisture and more heat (ie. The longer it been exposed to rain and the longer the engine has been running).
Happened on both sides 2 month apart. Loud bang and rumble. Inside tire, tread came off of tire. Damaged inside of wheel well, running lights, fenders on the dually, metal supports on fender. Never had this happen in 30+ years of towing and driving trucks.
Since this truck was new it would shake violently in the front end when you hit a slight bump at 60 mph changed everything in front end and added steering dampener recommended by dealer. Does it more often now. We have named it the death rattle.
