Safety issue 1..interior dash board first cracked, then cracked all over, then finally fell apart. The safety issue is pieces of the dash made up of plastic is breaking up in large sharp chunks when a bump in the road is encountered or jarring occurs. When going over a rr track a 5" jagged piece broke off and a small shard hit me in the eye. This issue is way more than cosmetic. I am the original owner and the dealer will not take any responsibility for this defective product. Safety issue 2.. Air bag light has been on for several years and intermittent. I received an air bag recall and i took the truck to the dealer for corrective action. After so called fix, the warning light was off for 1 day then came back on. The dealer states the recall has nothing to do with the warning lights. Now i have a current 2nd air bag recall. I took the vehicle to the dealer, but they state they don't have the parts and will contact me. Its been months ago and still no part. Again they say air bag warning light is not related.safety issue 3... Brake light warning and abs warning stays on all the time. Paid $100 for them to troubleshoot and they say its a sensor on the rt front abs. I feel this is another safety issue.

The dash is completely fractured and broken into shards of sharp hard plastic that should the takata airbag ever deploy will be propelled like shrapnel through the passenger compartment at explosive speeds. It's like driving a car with broken class covering the dashboard. This issue, the dash fracturing and splitting into pieces as a result of sun exposure and age seems to be a known problem on almost all of the online forums i went to to discover if this was unique to me. I cannot understand how such an obvious and common hazard experienced by so many, is allowed to persist.

"takata recall" none repair from over a year agoon 3/12/2015 i first took my vehicle, 2003 dodge ram 3500, to sunland park dodge dealership on 950 crocket st el paso, tx 799222 (915) 584-9393 for the safety recall #p78 /nhtsa 14v-770, the passenger airbag inflator housing may rupture and was given a service #cbdzp403aa.i was advised that part needs to be ordered and i would be called for the repair.throughout the year of 2015, i called the dealership and the part did not come in.on 3/08/2016 i took in my vehicle for the same recall, of the passenger airbag inflator may rupture, but it now had a different recall #r26 /nhtsa 15v-312.this new recall number still indicated it was for the same problem of the passenger airbag inflator housing may rupture.i was advised by the service receptionist, catalina, that chrysler still has not made these parts.the service advisor, alex fernandez, confirmed only that they have not received the part.after bringing it to his attention that i first brought in the vehicle over 1 year ago for this recall of the passenger airbag inflator housing; he just shrugged his shoulders. My vehicle has been kept in excellent condition in both service and looks.i still plan on keeping this vehicle.this vehicle has been in the california coastal and texas coastal areas in exposure to high levels of humidity for several 6 to 8 months of the year.

On the date noted above i noticed a 10 inch long crack had developed on the passenger side front dashboard slightly to the right of center.in a collision where the front airbags are deployed, this will become razor sharp shrapnel causing severe injury or death.dodge refuses to do anything to mitigate this flaw, which they have acknowledged is due to dodge utilizing sub-standard materials when making the dashboards for the ram truck series.there are hundreds, if not thousands, of complaints regarding the cracked dashes in ram trucks from frustrated owners.its only a matter of time until someone is injured or killed when one of these dashes explodes like a grenade when the airbag goes off during a collision.

"takata recall"my vehicle has been recalled twice over this issue, each time the repair has been completed.the current problem with my vehicle relates to the air bag module.my air bag warning light came on about a month ago at which time i took it to my local dodge dealership thinking the airbags had gone bad again.i was advised the airbags were fine but the control module had failed.then i was told that chrysler dodge no longer makes the replacement module and they would have to seek one from a salvage company they do business with.my question is simple, how can a manufacture decide to stop making a crucial component to the air bag system.i was advised that in the event of a crash the air bags would not inflate.it has been over a month now and the dealership still hasn't located a module but are continuing to search for one.i have a low milage 2003 ram 3500 heavy duty truck sitting in my driveway that is totally worthless.what can i do?

Air bag did not deploy in a collision. Another vehicle ran a stop sign, i t-boned the other vehicle with the front of my truck, yet air bag did not deploy.

The dashboard on my 2003 dodge 3500 quad cab had developed cracks which has split the dash into pieces directly in front of thepassenger seat and directly over the passenger side airbag.the cracks and broken dash pieces will not allow the passenger side airbag to deploy properly in the event of a crash and not only will the airbag harm the passenger, the broken pieces of dash will be dangerous as well.this vehicle has been properly maintained, and is in good condition.the dash cracked and broke as a result of normal driving; the vehiclehas never been in an accident.the dealer said that the vehicle is out of warranty and will not pay to replace the dash.not only will the airbag not deploy properly due to the cracked and broken dash and threaten the passenger, it could also deploy in a manner hazardous to the driver.this is a defect many 2003-2005 dodge 3500 truck owners have experienced and is widely discussed on internet forums.dodge 3500 2003 model dashboards should be recalled and replaced by dealers because the defective dashes installed by dodge are a high safety hazard for passengers and drivers as well due to the fact that they will not allow the passenger side airbag to deploy properly in the event of an accident.while i must include an incident date below this problem occurred and expanded over the course of 2010.

2003 dodge ram heavy duty truck began to get crackes in dashboard around yr 20092 large cracks are now in dashboard.

Directionals suddenly started blinking fast. Right & left directional don't opperate, right rear taillight doesn't operate, front left headlight does not opporate, both rear brake lights don't opperate, checked all bulbs by certified mechanic. All bulbs are in good condition. Tested all electrical & lighting lines, certified mechanic concluded that the integrated fuse box is defective & needs a brand new replacement. No corrosion present.ordered fuse block from dealership, parts dept. Confirms these blocks are on national back order, with 1000's of orders placed. Called chrysler, they said they can't help as there's no vendor making this part yet. If i got a used part for $400, it'd be an old defective fuse box & i'd have exact same safety issues.apparently many 2003-2005 dodge ram diesels currently have this same electrical problem.

I own a 2003 dodge 3500 cummings diesel. The problem is the trailer lights did not work the cause i have found on the internet is that dodge has wired incorrectly and causes the integrated power module (fuse box) to fail. Also my ecm has gone bad as well. I now have been waiting for repairs for over 2 weeks i am one of 74 waiting for a integrated power module. My cost as i"m told will be over $1100 most truck owners will not know they have this problem because they do not pull trailers as i do. But i have found this to be a common problem with people who do the years look like they occur between the !999 thru 2005 in the 1500 series 2500 series and 3500 series trucks.

Dashboard is collapsing causing electrical failureas well as burning melting plastic behind the dash compartment. It is an ongoing issue. Dealer claims it is "cosmetic" tell that to my electrical system.

The alternator bracket is cracked.it could break causing the alternator to fall into the engine fan assembly.if somebody was working on the engine at the time of complete failure, serious injury or death will occur.same goes for driving down the road and the failure could cause an accident.dodge is well aware of this/has tsb's yet won't pay for the bracket.

The truck will not shut off. After stopping and turning off the ignition and removing the key, the truck remains running. Sometimes, after about five minutes idling it will shut off on its own. Other times we have had to remove a fuse.

Trailer lighting for 2001-2005 dodge ram light duty (1500-5500) trucks with integrated heavy duty towing package relays can fail if accidental connection to mis-wired trailer, but are not repairable and parts are not available to replace the integrated power module (ipm). The relays for such are inside a sealed portion of the ipm, and cannot be replaced.there are no fuses or serviceable parts to protect against this failure. This failure results in non- or incorrectly-working trailer lighting which can result in motor vehicle accidents and injury or death.

The vehicle was taken to the dealership for routine maintenance.the technician noticed that the alternator bracket was broke. .the dealer indicated that a service bulletin was issued for this problem.the vehicle is not covered under warranty.

Dt*:the contact stated there was a burning smell coming from the steering column.the wiring harness to the steering column ignition switch shorted out.although the dealer was alerted no inspections have been made.the manufacturer has not been alerted.updated 7/13/2006 - the steering column ignition switch (part # 56045112) burned between wire terminal 1 and 8.the ignition switch connector (part # 5183441aa) was also burned between terminal 1 and 8 in circuit c1.

2001 dodge 3500 w/ho cummins spontaneously ignited and burned to nothing. It started in the engine compartment, drivers side. My opinion is it was an electrical fire due to the smell of the smoke.

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. While parked, the contact noticed a ticking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. After some time the contact was driving approximately 25 mph when the vehicle stalled. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised that the valve spring would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Diesel fumes are coming through the cab of thevehicle. Also, there isa burning oil smell .

2003 dodge cummins ho pickup,i have a new truck that has an injector that sticks. It has stuck wide open 4 times, closed two times and partially open many times.when it sticks wide open the knock can be heard through a vehicle window with air & radio running.the safety issue is a black cloud of smoke that is so thick that the sun and road cannot be seen.on interstate 90 i stopped all traffic east & west when it happened.my wife was following me on the way home from kellogg id to ellensburg wa.cummins agrees with me that i have a faulty injector; however failure does not set any codes in the computer.consequently dodge will not fix it.i have had it in the shop 3 times and have a clean bill of health because they cannot replicate the problem and the trucks computer does not record the incidents.i am running with two temperature instruments to read cylinder outlet temperatures when it happens and cylinder six is 10 to 20% higher than the other cylinders.i am told i need to drive it until i have a total failure.i feel that a failure on a crowded freeway could very possibly cause a multicar accident with injuries and fatalities.my dodge case number is 11579365 and they have a complete case file; however they will do nothing.

Exhaust pipe outlet does not extend out past the body on my 2003 dodge 3500 truck.it seems that the pipe was designed for a 2500 or 1500 model truck, which have no external fenders.i am under the impression that the pipe is supposed to be long enough to direct the exhaust gases away from, not under, the body. *la

Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that gasket, fan, and oil pressure sending unit needed to be replaced, and were replaced.consumer informed the mechanic that the problem recurred, and had not been resolved.

Turn signals on a 2003 dodge 3500 crewcab 4x4 diesel truck when activated, actually flash the opposite direction than the inside controls (turn signal lever). It's safer to use no turn signal at all.

Seems to occur when it is damp or raining. Doesn't occur when it is dry. Revs up on its own, even in gear with foot on brake. It has done this at least once. When first cranked up it has revved up wide open. It has done this at least twice. Will accelerate on its own while driving down the road. Has done this several times. When accelerating and you let up on the accelerator a little it acts just like you have taken your foot completely off the accelerator. It has done this several times. After the weather dries up and you crank it a few times the check engine light will go off. The light will stay off until the next time it is damp and it decides to go crazy. Then the check engine light comes back on just as soon as the engine starts to accelerate on its own. I think this is extremely dangerous.

The lift/transfer pump of the fuel system failed while driving on the freeway. (separate from the main fuel pump ).after talking to my mechanic and researching online, i found that apparently the original system was such a terrible design, and the problem i had so common, that dodge doesn't even make a replacement part for it anymore.instead, they sell you a kit which requires about 5-6 hours of labor to totally re-do the system (plus $500 parts).customer service?forget about it.if you finally get through to talking to your "case manager" all you'll hear is: "it's no longer covered by the warranty"the problem manifested itself by my truck stalling out in the fast lane on the freeway during rush hour- not a lot of fun trying to steer/brake a 6000+ pound truck with no power steering or brakes!how could this not be a safety recall issue?

When towing with the vehicleit does not respond when pressing the gas pedal.have to pullover let truck rest for about 5 to 10 minutes before truck will move when gas pedal is pressed.

Started noticing truck hard to start, then it dies at idle, in traffic etc, it happens about anywhere from 4 times a day to 4 times a week just depends, told that the truck transfer pump is a dealer item only at about 400.00 over the coast of internet pricing for the kit, wouldn't this be a recall? i have searched an found numerous other complains on this same problem , but since dodge discontinued the exterior transfer pump then it was a design flaw and should be a recall i had my truck die on my 2 times today in traffic moving 70 miles an hour with kids in the back seat and an 18 wheeler behind me , the truck has no other problems but i don't think dodge should be allowed to change the design with out having a recall.

The fuel systems in these model trucks are bad.there was a recall on them years ago, which i just found out and now i still owe on the truck.i was not the first buyer.the original owner did not go to fix the truck when the recall came out and he traded it.yah, that will fix the problem!well, the place we bought it from didn't fix the problem either.and we didn't find out about it until way later. And now we are going to be stuck with a truck that doesn't work, but we have to put in a lot of money into.anyone have any suggestions.if a vehicle has a recall why do they only give you a certain amount of time, to get it fixed.that is not fair for people that buy vehicles later on, when your not the first to purchase it.what do we do?!?

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500 diesel. The contact stated that the engine stalled while at a car wash without warning. The vehicle was then taken to a private mechanic. Poor fuel mileage in comparison to several other dodge's of the same year.*phwhile pulling a trailer at 63 mph the vehilce had a low of 6.85 mpg.on average the vehicle got 7.5-8.0 mpg loaded and 12-14 mpg empty.the dealer reflashed the computer.the vehicle was returned to the consumer but now it was missing.the vehicle was taken to another dealer.the truck was left there for a week but they were unable to determined the problem.the vehicle was ereturned to the consumer.the dealer contacted the cosumer to bring the vehicle back to the dealer to perform service suggested by the manufacturer.on the way to the dealer the truck started blowing transmision fluid through the radiator overflow.the dealer had to rebuild the transmission, replace the radiator and transmission cooler.the u-joint at the rear axle snapped which caused the drive shaft to collapse onto the highway.the fuel lift pump failed which caused the vehicle to stall while driving.transmission cooler line leaked.

On the seventh my truck started missing and sputtering. It only had 53,000 miles on it. When i went out the next morning to start my truck, it would not start. I could not make it to college or work that day. It was due to a lift pump failure. I had to buy a whole new fuel system for my truck because dodge does not make a replacement. It cost me about $700 for the fast fuel system and another $50 for my fuel pressure gauge. Plus time and the damage to my truck during the install. If this would have happened at an intersection, someone could have been hurt.

The vehicle would not start, driver contacted the dealer, dealer said to pop the hood pump, the primer. Vehicle started 10 minutes later andstalled on highway, consumer feels could have been t-boned as a result of engine stalling and did not feel safe driving.dealer said fuel injectors needed replacement, and will only be replaced one at a time as they fail.

When towing the trucks lift pump would not support the motor and caused the vehicle to die out.the lift pump was not pumping enough fuel to the motor.*nlm

I would like to know why there is no mandate for a mechanical interlock to prevent a manual transmission from being shifted into reverse accidentally while driving. In 2003 the dodge ram 3500 has a 6 speed manual transmission used with the cummins 5.9 diesel motor which has no mechanical interlock to prevent being shifted into reverse when trying to shift into 5th gear. This is a very dangerous situation which is endangering owners and others on the road.i would also like to know why a manufacturer is not required to provide head restraint in the rear seats of the 2003 dodge ram 3500 quad cab. A passenger in the rear seat are at risk of their head slamming into the rear window which is also endangering many people.my personal information is not needed by you or any one else. The above statements are facts which speak for themselves. I know from personal experience that the auto manufacturers do not care the slightest bit about a customers concerns. They lie are arrogant and rude and vindictive.the vin of my vehicle is not necessary info either because as far as i know all 3500 and 2500 have the same deficiencies.

Was driving about 70 mph and the transmission and transfer case fell off the truck.

Not sure if this is a safety problem.90 percent of the times that i attempt to start my vehicle, i have to readjust the gear swift. It appears to have swifted to neutral or drive.i start noticing this in august, 2008.

Was changing oil on my 03 dodge ram 3500 and noticed the frame rail near cab mount on drivers side was completely rusted thru with a hole approximately 2 inches long and 1/4" wide. I'm afraid to haul my goose neck trailer under these conditions. I'm afraid that additional weight could cause the frame to collapse. I don't remember seeing a recall for this condition.

Dt*: the contact stated a recall letter was received in the mail regarding the power train; automatic transmission, recall number: 05v462000. Prior to receiving this recall, the contact was involved in an accident.the vehicle jumped out of park into reverse and hit another vehicle.there was substantial damage done to the contact's vehicle.the contact does not agree with the remedy listed in the recall.in addition to the out of park alarm listed as the remedy to this recall, the dealership determined a shifter cable needed to be installed.

Dt*:the contact stated after exiting the vehicle, with the engine still running in park, it began to reverse down the boat dock.this damaged the boat trailer and the dock.the contact received recall letter #05v462000, for the automatic transmission.although the recall work has not been performed, the contact believes this will repair the problem.

Vehicle vibrates when it reaches 20 mphin gear or not in gear.it vibrates so hard that the mirrors on the exterior shake like they are coming off.

The transmission keeps slipping into neutral while driving and sometimes upon pulling out.the truck is 10 weeks old and has been in the shop for this condition 4 times, with the malfunction light on 3 of those trips, once it went in on a rollback because it would not move at all.it has also downshifted into a lower gear, barked the tires and slung us forward so hard it almost snapped our necks twice now.this has been reported also.they now say since i am requesting a full refund for the truck that there is no mechanical problems or damage only a software problem with the computer.they say michigan is aware of it, but there has not been a program written to correct it yet, but they will notify me when there is.the vehicle is not safe to drive, you can't merge into traffic for fear of it not moving, you are afraid of it downshifting, but they assure me it is safe to drive, and the rep won't call me back like he was supposed to.they are trying to ignore me completely since i asked for a refund under the tennessee lemon law, of which the 4 unsuccessful repair attempts have been made, with notification by certified letter to the dealer after the 3rd attempt.they say now they can't duplicate the problem, when before i asked for a refund they could.

Consumer statedvehicle rolled offwhile parked.

My 2003 dodge ram 3500 diesel has been jumping into reverse from park.this has happened three times.the first time was in the middle of january.i parked at mini mart at 6am to get a cup of coffee.it was cold so i left the engne idling to warm up.i came out to find my vehicle gone.i looked across the street and found it smashed into a building. The truck had minimal damage, but extensive damage was done to the building.i thought maybe i mistakinly put the lever in reverse at first, but but you cant get out of the door without the vehile taking off when you leave it in reverse, if you take your foot off the brake it takes off.this hapened again in mid march. I left the vehicle to check a field, i herd a klunk and turned around to find my pickup backing down the road. At this point i had the dealer check the transmisson.the found nothing wrong. In mid i junewas checking rice boxes on a canal bank when it happened again.this time the pickup went into the canal and filled 1/4 full of water, as will as body damage. I again took it to the dealer.they had a represenative from diamler-chrysler come out and check the vehicle. He did a whole series of tests.they later sent me a letter stating my claim had been denied.they are doing nothing!these vehicles are unsafe.i dont know where to go from here.

The vehicle lurched forward in every gear except in neutral when depressing the clutch when starting the engine.the dealer replaced the clutch, but problem recurred.the transmission was hard to shift, the clutch control was defective due to the slave cylinder bleeding back into the master cylinder.this caused the vehicle to lurch unexpectedly. *sc

A few weeks ago, the driver's side seat began to have forward movement during vehicle launch and stopping.upon inspection of the seat mechanisms, a crack in one of the six way seat adjustment gear housings was observed.on october 28, 2006, the gear housing completely failed causing drastic movement of the seat.at this time, resolution appears to be to replace the effective parts at the consumer's expense.this failure is a safety issue.a seat failure in an accident could cause serious injury.i know from websites such as turbo diesel register that this problem is fairly common.a safety recall would seem to be in order. There are stripes of melting plastic on the back of the right side mirror and on the back of the front seats

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. The contact was included in nhtsa campaign numbers:05v426000 (service brakes, hydraulic), 15v312000 (air bags), and 14v770000 (air bags). The parts were not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repairs. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the parts would become available.

Auto brake system lite came on .

Both brake lines between the master cylinder and the anti lock controller ruptured when stopping for a light. The pedal went to the floor and i was only successful in stopping using trailer brakes.both lines looked in perfect condition except where they ruptured under a plastic retaining clip that encased the lines making them not visible for inspection. The lines coming out of the controller have an anti corrosive coating the two going in that ruptured do not. I still have the old lines and pictures can be sent if needed.the plastic retaining clips were lost during the roadside emergency repair in a thunder storm.

Whenever my truck is loaded to mgcw and i have to make a quick stop, if the abs releases to regain wheel spin up, the braking never comes back to anything like it was before the anti skid released. The braking is definitely very dangerous if the abs engages on a quick stop. If the abs engages you had better be looking for someplace to go because you aren't going to stop. I've had this happen twice in 47000 miles and i consider it an urgent safety factor. I have driven trucks with abs since they came out and this one is dangerous.

As with many of the other complaints about 2003 dodge ram 3500's this ram 3500 has had all suggested steering component upgrades and recall upgrades (change steering to 2008 steering) and the tie rod recall for the 2008 steering.the 2008 steering upgrade seemed to exacerbate the tire wear issue.additionally, ball joints and shocks have been replaced.the ram death wobble and excessive tie wear is still present.the last set of tires lasted 8,000 miles (i am putting a new set on today).the tire wear on my last trip of only 360 miles was very noticeable - so much so a trip of 1,000 miles or more would have caused dangerous tire wear and potential catastrophic failure. Dodge has tried to fix the problem by only skimming over the issue with minor fixes.as a retired law enforcement officer with hundreds of thousands of miles of driving experience - the steering and excessive tire wear is unsafe.since i am getting new tires and an alignment today - i will be more than happy to track mileage, driving conditions, note steering issues, and photograph tire wear - if you wish.

Steering box gears disintegrated due to misalignment causing steering wheel to lock and failure of related systems. Power steering and power brakes are tied to same pump system. Fortunately, i was in parking lot rather than traveling down freeway when failure occurred.

The death wobble has happen several times- the last time was aug 2nd, 2009 on the freeway going 75mph passing a semi trailer, we hit a bump in the road thetruck began to shake violently, my husband was trying to control this shake while going 75mph- it would not stop until we slowed down and pulled offto the side of the road. We almost cause an accident but thanks to my husband excellent driving skills he was able to avoid an accident. We have replace tierods, ball joints, steering box, tires, shocks, and more. I am afraid to get back into this truck.

Driving at hwy. Speeds when you hit a seam or bump on hwy. Front end shakes violently. This happens at random times. You never know when it will happen.it is very dangerous. Also known as (death wobble) there are many other dodge ram trucks with this problem. No one seems to be able to fix it. I have all the upgrades from chrysler & still have this problem, even though they say there is no problem.

I got a letter last year 2014 about the recall and went back a month later, and they verbally said that there's a recall on the recall. The recent one, i took it to turlock dodge and they put me on the list and i'm at the bottom and it has been a year, but i want it fixed asap. The recall says: "the problem is the left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning. The dealer will repair your vehicle free of charge. To do this, your dealer will inspect the steering linkage on your truck and replace steering linkage component/s if required. The inspection will take less than 1/2 hour. If linkage replacement is required, the work will take an additional 1 hour to complete..etc" this was copied from the recall notice. So when are you going to fix it?! fix this asap, i'm frustrated since it has been a year and no one has gotten back to me except the letter!

Purchased vehicle at 100,000 in 11/2011.miles seemed in good condition.quickly started death wobble.thought it was weak tires. Purchased new (better) tires, no change. Took into oak ridge, tn chrysler dealership for death wobble repairs at 122,351 miles (ticket chcs182246). Fine until last month 12/2016 at approx 137,051 miles.death wobble is back (and worse).easily occurs at interstate speeds when one hits bridge expansion joints (especially on a curve).but must also watch (be careful) on secondary roads at slower speeds.does not need to be on a curve if the bump is big.in my opinion engineering wise, think the engine / front end is too high/heavy for the default steering/suspension components to handle the forces.it seems the repairs i am offered are merely fixing symptoms and not root cause.also seems there is a wealth of after market knowledge / parts that recognizes the issues that chrysler refuses to recognize.

I just wanted to add to the recent recall information you are investigating with the ram trucks. Our 2003 ram 3500 4x4 has had what is know by dodge truck owners as the "death wobble" for many years. We have sunk countless amounts of money and time in it trying to fix it. It is very serious and scary as the truck vibrates uncontrollably after hitting a pothole/tracks or similar road obstacles.there is nothing you can do except slow down and ride it out. We were so happy when we received a recall/part fix notice a few years back to have it worked on but upon taking it to the dealer we were told that nothing was wrong. I can tell you with complete certainty that was not the case, it has still done it since then. We think we have it fixed now but only time will tell but it was very upsetting that all the year trucks with this problem were not considered especially when this is a very well documented issue with additional year models.

I've had issues with the steering. Chrysler/dodge recalled the steering once and it fixed my "death wobble" issue for about 2 weeks, now with their new mopar parts that i bought it's worse then before. Said parts i bought are affected in their n62 recall. I took it to my local chrysler dodge dealer and was denied service!! called another dealer and they supposedly put me on the waiting list for parts over a month ago!i haven't driven the truck maybe 1000miles in a year since the issue has gotten so bad i'm afraid to drive it. The dealer told me i was vehicle 20 on his list waiting, and that they had no clue when they are getting parts!i'm getting tired of waiting for dodge/chrysler to fix it, i just want it fixed and fixed now!

From 55mph and above if a bump in the road is hit, small or large the vehicle will suddenly shack uncontrollably. I am the original owner of this truck. I installed an after market high performance front stabilizer that prevented the death rumble from occurring. This worked for 50-60 thousand miles. The death rumble has returned. I bought another after market stabilizer however it was not effective this time. This vehicle is unsafe to drive. My question is how many people have to die before dodge does something about it. I paid 50,000 for a truck that has not operated properly for 40 of the 90thousand miles. Dodge is aware of this issue. I have sent my truck to dodge to no prevail. Help!

I went to chrysler with i thought shock problems .the mechanic told me there was a recall on the steering linkagehe tim/ also said chrysler would only replace one small part but that the other rods and bushings would have to be replaced also because they were part of the problem and if i did not replace rods and bushings they would eventually brake and i would have no steering controlright now the bushing are rattling real bad and the steering is loose and walks on the roadtim the mechanic said this is one whole problem and all linked together also i have cost guard insurance and since part is on recall they would not pay for the other parts which will cost over 700.00 i feel chrysler is responsible and need to paychrysler already had one repair on same breakdown last week please check into this for us.

Power steering locked up and couldn't turn to the right. Also affected the braking system as it has diesel engine and uses the hydra-vac system.with no warning it locked up and it made it almost impossible to turn to the right.tests show the pressure wasabove normal when taken to a shop.just bought this truck in feb of 2005 and at the time has 45600 miles on it.e-mailed chrysler motor company and inquired if they have had other complaints about this and they refused to answer.i do have the old steering gear box after they replaced it along with a sample of the fluid.

While driving at 50 mph suddenlysteering wheel became hard to turn andlocked up. This was caused by the steering gear box being tightened too tight at time of manufacturing, per dealership.the dealership replaced the part.*nlm

I am having a problem with the power steering that the local chrysler dealer cannot figure out. I've recently started getting a whining noise from the steering while sitting in the driveway. The last time that i noticed this noise i later noticed fluid under the truck coming from the power steering location. The dealer could not determine where it was leaking from and placed dye in the resevoir and ran the truck for two hours. They did not notice a leak or the whine. They want me to drive the truck and bring in back after 200 miles or so. I did a search of the forums on www.turbodieselregistry.com and noticed that a lot of people are having problems with a metal screen "filter" inside the pump that is clogging. After they drain the pump, clean the screen and refill/reprime the pump the low speed condition goes away. This concerns me very much as my family lives could be in jeopardy if this should cause a power steering / power brake failure. We live in colorado and tow on the mountain passes here very frequently. It appears that there is a problem with this "filter" in the power steering pump. I would like to see a recall to correct this problem whether it is to remove this "filter" or replace it with an external filter that can be serviced.

The dash started cracking in 2011, now it has so many cracks and sharp edges, you can't wipe off the dash without getting a cut on your hand. Very dangerous situation, can only imagine what would happen in an accident. This vehicle has been garage kept, the quality of materials chrysler used is flawed and now extremely dangerous. My truck has low mileage and chrysler is playing favorites by replacing some and not others..totally not fair.

Dashboard splits and causes safety hazard.

2003 dodge 3500 dash cracking severely. You touch it andyour finger goes through it. I cut my finger twice passing it over the dash to try to clean it. You guys know there's a problem but you say it is not a safety issue. I disagree cut finger twice and now the wiring is getting so hot being exposed to the sun it is a hazard.

I have had a dashmat covering on my dashboard since spring of 2003. I had not taken it off except to clean a couple of times a year.now i have cracks and pieces that i have had to tape so they don't stick up into my mat. It appears to be a problem common to dodge trucks. Fyi -- my 1999 q45 infinity "doesn't" have a dashmat or any cracks.

The two piece dash on my 2003 ram 3500 truck has cracked in several places.this continues to get worse with additional cracks showing up in several areas.the edges of this dash along the cracks is very sharp and in a crash this would cause a severe safety hazard.chrysler is not responding well to these defective parts as well even though this problem is happening in several year models as well as other car models.

2003 dodge cummins 3500 4x4 dash cracked in several placesseveral owners i know have the same problem, this could break out in an accident an injure someone.

Holes in dash of dodge trucks which leave sharp and jagged edges.

I purchased this truck, dash panel is severely cracked and coming apart in several places, this has been reported as early as june 2006 to the nhtsa, this is a mfg. Defective that has effected many truck of this model, i have always taken care of the interior of the truck,my brother has a 2002 and its the same way. This is a safety issue, can't lay anything on it, have to ware gloves when you clean.

Cracked dash board that could become projectiles in the event of a crash. These dash boards are made of cheap plastic and crack bad.

2003 dodge ram 3500 dash cover has cracked and shattered.there have been not collisions, etc. With the truck, it just started cracking.then the local dealership took it out 3-4 times to attempt to repair a heater core and a/c problem.each remove/replace cycle resulted in additional damage.currently, two completed cracks through the entire dash, running parallel with the frame.the forward portion with the defrost vents is also cracked and 5 of the 7 vents are damaged or totally missing.nothing has ever been placed on this dash heavier than a baseball hat, it has no scratches of dings.the edges of the cracks and resulting holes in the dash are sharp and would cut any exposed skin that came into contact with them.i would hate to be in any collision with this vehicle as dash plastic would be flying everywhere.i repeat, there have been not collisions or crashes with this vehicle.

Dash cracked up.

Crack in the dash of my 03 dodge ram truck. There are two cracks one happened about 3/4 years ago and then the other about 2 years ago. The truck was purchased new in 2003. One crack is about a foot long and the other is a few inches.

Dashboard on 2003 dodge ram 3500 cracking.dealer does will not stand behind product.i have read on the internet that this is a recurring problem with the dodge ram trucks.

The dash on my 2003 dodge ram 3500 has multiple cracks that have occurred from normal driving no wrecks or accidents. I feel that the pieces of hard plastic could become lethal projectiles in an accident.

Cracked dash.

I have a 2003 dodge 3500 and the dash just started falling apart. It has like 10 major cracks and they just suddenly appeared. I think it is going to cave in.

2003 dodge ram 3500 pick up truck ... The dashboard is severely cracking. The dashboard starting cracking in nov 2009 starting off as a small crack. Now in march 2010 the dashboard is cracking everywhere. Was told by a dealership in 2009 the dash was $500. Now dealership in march 2010 saying dash n/a in the usa. Spoke w/ dodge corp lodged a complaint. Told by dealership april 2010 that new dash is around $1800 because new dashboard and duct work area needed (that a new system of dash/duct are now being used.) this indicates that there is a problem on the dashes that dodge corp is a ware of - but not enough concern to issue recall. This is a known problem with all rams from '98 to '03 - there are complaints listed on the internet and on the news (channel 6 news, orlando, fl 2007 and wlbt3, ms 5/2008). The cracking dashboard can act as shrapnel in an accident causing serious injury. The exposed wires in the sunlight can cause malfunctions while driving which can lead to an accident.

The dashboard in my 2003 dodge ram 3500 truck has two cracks that appeared over night while it was parked one runs completely across the center the other crack is on right side. This truck has only 57,000 miles and has never been off road is driven 3 miles round trip a day and has been maintained.

I have a black 2003 dodge 3500 ram.the dash has cracked in 3 places over the past 3 years. I just noticed one day that there was a crack and then several months later another crack split across the dash. Now in the past year another crack has appeared. This dash is cracking and i have used a sunshield to protect it. The sunshield does not seem to help, it just cracks no matter what.

Dash just cracks pieces, although small for the moment, fell out of the dash.

Even though i have taken care of my vehicle, the dashboard has several cracks in it.the dealership will not help me.they say i must purchase a new dashboard for about $700.i have other friends with the same type of vehicle and they also have cracks.shouldn't there be a recall?my dad's 93 chevy is fine.

I feel that the cracked plastic dashboard on my 2003 dodge ram 3500 4x4 laramie goes beyond a cosmetic issue into the realm of a possible major safety concern. The dash pieces that break off could fall down and pinch wiring, cause the fan to jam, etc which can cause a potential fire while driving down the road. This did not personally happen to me but i have read about dodge trucks catching fire with no definite cause determined through investigation.

Dash justsuddenly started cracking was cleaning dash and a fingers went through it cutting my finger now dash a over 20 cracks and holes in it. If i were to get into an accident i think splinters of dash would impale me.

Cracked dashboard, my concern is, if and when the airbags deploy, will brittle plastic from the cracked dashboard project into someone eyes/ face? seems that this is an issue with dodge.

I have a 03 dodge and my dashboard is cracking, dodge will do nothing to rectify the problem of which they know they have. Once it begins cracking if you are in a wreck the plastic pieces will act as a flying projectile and could harm someone.

My 2003 dodge ram 3500 truck dash board started craking in many places and is getting worse.

2003 dodge ram 3500 quad cab - severe dashboard cracking in several places. Not under warranty.

I own a 2003 dodge ram 3500 pick up truck and the dash board is severely cracked and falling in. These pieces of hard, sharp plastic could become projectiles in a collision and/or interfere or damage the airbags underneath the dash. This is a serious problem and could be very dangerous. There are many people have the same problem with their dodge trucks. These are not just small cracks. There are large holes where the dashboard has actually caved in.

Sharp parts and pieces keep falling off the dash of my truck and most of not all have either hit my passenger or myself while driving.

My dashboard has been disintegrating rapidly in the last couple years.started with a large crack, then several cracks, then chunks.i never know when a chunk is going to let loose, i check every time i get into the truck for anything loose, but it never fails to startle me and i even got pulled over once on a suspected dui when a chunk flew off and hit me between the eyes.this has happened a few times to both me and any passenger i might be transporting.chrysler says its a cosmetic issue, but i am here to tell you that it is a safety issue not only for the truck owner, but anyone else who happens to be on the road with one.please lean on chrysler to recall this and make the roads a bit safer for all.thank you

While cleaning the truck, i noticed a crack had appeared that ran across the dashboard. The dashboard is always shaded by a sunscreen when the truck is parked. I called my local dodge dealer to ask what could be done to repair the dashboard and they told me to call chrysler/dodge customer service and gave me the phone number. I called customer service, explained that the dashboard had unexpectedly cracked and they gave me a case number. They told me to take the truck to my local dealer where digital pictures would be taken and submitted for review. Five days later i received a letter from my local dodge dealer stating that my claim was denied. I called chrysler/dodge customer service to follow up. They said that there is nothing that they can do and confirmed that the claim has been denied. The crack continues to get larger and eventually i expect the dashboard to disintegrate as hundreds if not thousands of other dodge ram dashboards are doing. Dodge should recall the faulty dashboards for replacement because there is a great potential for plastic shards and splinters to cause injury during an accident or air bag deployment.

We own two 03' dodge rams a 1500 and a 3500, both of witch are experiencing cracks in the dashboards.

Dash has cracked and there is a whole large enough to put your head into it.parts fell out onto my feet while driving.a pillar grab handles have pulled out while climbing into truck.i fell and cracked a rib.dodge refuses to do anything about this issue.both of these issues should be a recall as they are safety related.the dash pieces almost cut my foot open.if i had of been wearing shoes instead of boots it would have.my truck is a manual transmission.it fell on top of my ankle and wedged on the pedals while i was holding clutch in the boots protected my ankle when i let off the clutch to grab the plastic piece.if not it would have cut my ankle pretty good as it left a good mark in the leather of my boot.

The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 106,500.

The hand grip in the cab of the pickup has broken away twice since i have had this vehicle.this time i wrenched my back when this broke away.i confronted dodge dealer and they said its not a lifting handle but an assist handle?if they put it in the truck they should make it safe enough so that someone won't get hurt

I have a 2003 dodge ram 3500 w/cummins diesel. A year ago (2008) the dashboard developed a small crack in the dashboard. Thinking that it was just a stress crack and comes with age i did not think anymore about it until as of late, the entire dash is shattering and collapsing onto itself. This is dropping shards of plastic into areas not intended to have plastic dropped into it. I thought that this was an isolated case until i started researching the problem and found that this is a very common problem with dodge ram trucks. Dodge has evidently refused to acknowledge that this is a common problem with their quality control.

Cracked dash and broken, very sharp all over , junk.

There are stripes of melting plastic on the back of the right side mirror and on the back of the front seats

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that there was premature cracking and deterioration of the dashboard. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and provided no solution other than for the contact to replace the part. The dealer stated that to complete nhtsa campaign number: 15v312000 (air bags), the dashboard would also need to be replaced. The parts had not been available for an extended period of time so the contact was uncertain of when the recall repair would be completed. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect. Updated 01/27/17*lj

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that there were cracks in the dashboard and she feared that there would be projectiles during a collision. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 81,000.

Was driving about 70 mph and the transmission and transfer case fell off the truck.

2003 dodge 3500 four door pickup 4x4 front wheels shake violently when traveling over rough patches of interstate.everything shakes, feels like the truck is coming apart.witnesses say the front wheels are steering left to right rapidly, however it feels like the tires are bouncing off of the pavement.this happens regularly at speeds above 65mph. When i slow to 40 mph the shaking stops. It is very hard to control the vehicle when it is shaking.

Tie rod endswore out, making it difficult tosteer vehicle. The stabilizer bar and wheel bearing also failed.

Driving at the posted speed limit, without warning, the truck made an abrupt lane change then i managed to gain control. What happen is that on this vehicle, the wheel bearing assembly is one piece and can't be greased or maintained in any way. It heated up and locked the front wheel causing a serious and violent turn at freeway speeds.

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. While driving 40 mph, the driver side tie rod ball joint fractured. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was repaired by the owner; however, the failure continued intermittently. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Help!

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number (steering).caused the front tires to ware prematurely the front end was aligned several times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for alignment and tire rotation until the recalled part was available for repair. The manufacturer denied assistance with the repair. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 154,000. Li

My 2003 dodge ram 4x4 diesel vibrates and shakes to the point that it feels as though i will loose control and it is obvious to those around the vehicle.this has happened on the interstate traveling at 65 mph over rough patches.it takes a steady grip of the wheel and tapping the brakes down to about 40 mph's to get it to stop.

Upper and lower ball joints have been replaced 6 times. During the most recent replacement mechanic determined the problem to be an irregularity in the machining process which prevents the upper ball joints from tightening properly, thus causing the failure of the new ball joints and universal which as also been replaced twice. I consider this an extremely serious safety concern which could result in a serious accident or death if it were to occur on a major highway at 55 mph.

My 2003 dodge 3500 4x4 started about a year and a half ago, shaking very violently when you drive over a bump or uneven place in the highway and you're driving over 50 mph. I took it to a repair shop and they replaced the stabilizer shock and track bar bushings along with two rotors and hub seals. Still it continued to shake. I now have taken it and again had that replaced along with having a kit of fixes the dodge dealership sells that is supposed to be a fix for this problem and a lot of other things, still it did not fix it. My mechanic was at his wits end and searched the internet where he found over two million sites for people experiencing the same problem with no apparent fix. I have spent over $1500 and it still shakes violently. I use my truck to pull loads and now i'm afraid to pull anything with it. I bought the truck brand new and had not had any trouble, except of course with the injectors which is another story, until now. If you do a search of dodge death shake, you will find there are millions of us out there. This is unbelievable how it can literally shake the steering wheel loose from your hand and take the vehicle off the highway. This very dangerous and i'm afraid dodge is trying to skirt the issue of a possible design flaw in the frame and suspension. All these trucks are bought to carry a load and i at times was pulling over 25,000 lbs. Of cattle and the thought of having this happen then, would be a recipe for disaster. Is it going to take someone getting killed to make dodge responsible for this? when there are so many of us, i think it is a definite design flaw and a very dangerous one.

Death wobble,front end shake.

I have the death wobble in my front end.hit a bump at 55 mph + and the front end shakes so bad your forced to almost come to a stop.the dealer stated my drag link /tie rod assembly, steering gears and pittman arm are bad. I have never pulled carried an rv,never driven off road and keep my vehicles maintained per the manufacture. Specs.why are these parts defective at 99k miles.check the dodge forums and you'll find a great many other owners in my position with way less miles.this is a defect, plain and simple.

Upper & lower ball joints and bearings of the front suspension on a dodge ram 3500 4x4 truck. Much like the dodge dakota trucks and the dodge durango.

I have a 2003 dodge quad cab 3500 5.7 hemi with 21,432 miles. I have replaced both lower ball joint after failures. The ball joint separated on each occasion and damaged the rims on the inside.

Reading your comments about dodge durango and dakota gave me some satisfaction of my issue. I have 03 dodge ram with inferior/faulty ball joints. I have attempted to get the dealer to address without success. The argument is over how much play is allowed. Independent shops will not align and say this is a common problem with dodge. I contacted dodge to attempt to get information on the number of owners with similar complaint and was informed that it was proprietary information. This generation of dodge must use a different ball joint than the prior generation. I saw your alert and was curious if it included the ram pick up? any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2003 dodge 3500 4x4 truck. At 25,000 miles i noticed the front tires starting to wear improperly. After checking out the front end i found all 4 ball joints in the front of the truck very loose. I have been to the dodge dealer 4 times to correct this problem and one time to correct a problem they caused with the anti-lock brake system when they repaired the ball joints.

2003 dodge ram 3500 4x4. Death wobble possibly due to defective ball joints. Dealer would not address during warranty. Progressively worsening. Hazard on the highway due to death wobble. Happens at speeds over 55mph when hitting any bump with both front tires.

Lost control of vehicle on a mountain road.front left wheel fell off, leading me into a rock.vehicle is total loss and i have had physical damage on my face from it going through the driver door window on impact.dodge has denied my claim even though there is a recall on dakota's for same problem.

Front ball joints were defective at 13,000 miles.

The hub on the left front broke in half while driving 75 mph. Vehicle drifted to the shoulder of the road. Consumer had the vehicle towed. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, who toldhim that they will not cover the cost of repairs.

While driving at any speed consumer heard a grinding noise coming from the front driver's hub.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

After about six months of purchasing the vehicle new the rear end makes a winning sound. Dealers are unable to fix the problem.

2003 dodge ram 3500.76000 mile.rear axle seal leaking onto right rear emergency brake pads.loss of rear end fluid. Had the transmission and rear end serviced at local dodge dealer at 30,000 and 60,000 miles.they stated both times the rear end was low on fluid. But could not figure out where the fluid went to.during a recent brake pad replacement the technician removed the right rear wheel to turn the disk, and found the problem. The local dealer stated they had the seals but when they arrived they were the wrong size.several phone calls later the technician was able to located the correct size but they could not be delivered until the next day.also there has been a clicking noise comming from the right front of the truck for some time.i assumed it was the shock.but again the technician doing the brake job found the upper a arm ball joint was warn to the point of allowing side to side movement of the tire.the left (or drivers side seemed to be good.) but since my truck would be down again i have decided to replace both a arm ball joints. My business depends on me being able to travel 200 or 300 miles a day, so maintenance is a must.but it seems a whole bunch of stuff is going wrong just after my warranty expires.

Problems with tire equipment on 2003 dodge diesel 3500 truck.*mr the vehicle was delivered to the consumer's ten pounds below the minimum pressure for a safe ride. The consumer's test drove one 3500, but didn't like the roughness of the ride. The second 3500, the vehicle in question rode much smoother. They had the vehicle serviced at the dealership to insure it was ready for a long trip. After being driven 3000 miles, the vehicle handled very bad on wet and muddy roads. Consumer had the tires checked and realized it rode smooth at first because it was 10 pounds under pressure. When inflated to the proper pressure (55) it rode rough even at 40 mph or less.*ph

When the trailer was used, it bent the main springs which supportedboth the truck and trailer in the opposite direction.if the spring were to break it could cause an accident.

Dash board falling apart

Failed components= driver and passenger sunvisordrivers side sunvisor fails to remain in the fully upright position when passing over a bump, resulting in reduced forward visibility and distraction to driver.subsequent failure of passenger side sunvisor results in decreased visibility to drivers right. Investigation through dodge truck websites reveal this problem experienced by others and that dodge redesigned the sunvisor in 2005 model year.there is no available repair, just a full replacement of sunvisors at a cost of up to $150.00 (parts/labor) as documented on dodge truck websites.sunvisors on subject vehicle are now secured via safety pins and velcro strips to prevent accidental visor movement.

Dash is cracking and i am afraid that if i were to get in an accident there would be sharp pieces of plastic sent into the occupants of the cab specifically my children. The dashes should be recalled.

Dash cracked creating a safety hazard if ever involved in an accident. Also small fragments of the dash have gotten into the vents blowing into drivers face which my cause an accident if struck in eye. Stationary, motion what type of roadway does not matter. Defective parts used!!!!

The dash in my 2003 dodge ram 3500 has cracked in two places.the truck had 95,602 miles at the time.low mileage for the model but i only live 3 miles from my job.i use a sunscreen when the truck is not in use and i do not believe this is sun damage.now little pieces of plastic, foam and fiber looking material are being spewed from air vents.i think it is from the deterioration of the dash.i feel that chrysler should replace this dash as the deterioration is through no fault of mine as i have given reasonable care to the truck.i also fear that if i am involved in an accident where the airbags deploy, i or my passengers could be injured or killed by the damaged dash flying into shrapnel.

Noticed the dashboard had a small crack in it, used a dash protector mat and when i took it off to clean the entire dashboard was cracked into pieces. This dashboard looks worse than a jigsaw puzzle. While driving down the road pieces just break off and fall into the dash!

Dash board starting breaking apart voluntarily several years ago and has been getting continuously worse to the point that entire dash has crumbled.. Dash board pieces are hard sharp plastic material and could come back and injure someone in the event of an accident. Dodge dealerships state that all ram trucks have this problem but no recall has been issued.

My 2003 dodge 3500 trucks dash board is broken/cracked in several places.i have reported it to dodge and they have offered to replace it with a 1000.00 co-pay. This is a wide spread problem and i believe dangerous as broken parts can become dis-lodged during a collision and caught by the air bags.please keep on dodge to do the right thing here. I would be willing to help with the costs but 1000.00 is to much!

The front top dash is cracking in several pieces

Even though i have taken care of my vehicle, the dashboard has several cracks in it.the dealership will not help me.they say i must purchase a new dashboard for about $700.i have other friends with the same type of vehicle and they also have cracks.shouldn't there be a recall?my dad's 93 chevy is fine.

Was driving down the road and went to shift gears and the shifter lever arm broke off at the bottom.

Dash cracked, broken, pieces completely broken away, missing, sharp edges, vents grills gone items can fall into the heat, defroster.all dodge trucks i've seen have seen of this year, modand similar defects.

The dash is cracking and deteriorating producing small sharp objects in the cab that come lose and are a hazzard to all occupants.

1. Our dashboard has cracked after not using the truck for several weeks we noticed during a trip since then the crack has gotten bigger in less then 48 hours.2. I've read that this can cause electrical issues and we have had our ac quit working for a little while since the crack was notice 3. So, far nothing has been done. I have e-mail the dealership and dodge and so far not much is being said. I have notice that the main dodges that are cracking are 01 but mine is newer it is an 03 i can't think what it will look like in 2 years.

The dashboard of my dodge ram truck is cracked. When i say cracked i don't mean a small crack but cracks all over the entire dashboard. It is cracked so badly that i fear pieces of the hard plastic are going to break off during our travels and cause injury to me ,my passengers or my grandchildren. I am also concerned that if we were in an accident that the cracks would fly off and cause severe injury or death to the driver, passengers or my grandchildren.this is a problem in a lot of the dodge ram trucks. It is not a cosmetic problem but a danger to the life of people in the vehicle.

When towing with the vehicleit does not respond when pressing the gas pedal.have to pullover let truck rest for about 5 to 10 minutes before truck will move when gas pedal is pressed.

When accelerating at various speedvehicle would hesitate, causing a distraction toconsumer. Dealer had been notified.

Dt*:the contact stated while going over a hill at 5 mph the vehicle jumped out of gear and accelerated without warning.the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem.the manufacturer has been alerted.

*sc

Cruise control malfunction - 2003 dodge ram 3500, cummins diesel, manual trans.sept 15th, 2008, 9ami left my home at 3:30 am on my way to denver for work. I used the cruise control through the town of glenwood springs at 55-60 mph or so, then made my way into the glenwood canyon at just before 4:45 am, which has a posted speed of 50 mph. There was a construction project in the first tunnel in the canyon, so i tapped the brake and slowed to about 40 mph, in 6th gear. As i excited the construction area, i hit the 'resume' button for the cruise and the truck began to accelerate (approx 4:47 am). Soon i was going over 70 mph and accelerating at full throttle. I tapped the brake and the cruise did not turn off... I hit the brake again, harder this time in case i didn't use enough pressure the first time. Again, nothing. At this point the truck is running at 80+ mph and i'm coming up on a semi in the slow lane, same lane that i'm in. I had to swerve around the tractor-trailer, while at the same time attempting to shut the cruise control off, back on and off again, trying to stop the truck. As i get past the tractor-trailer i'm running well over 80 mph and i'm starting to panic. I start pumping the brakes over and over, attempting to control the trucks speed around one of the canyon corners. After 30 seconds the truck stopped it's full-throttle attack. I exited the canyon and kept driving for another 10 minutes or so, then pulled over on the side of the freeway. The engine was running at 2000 rpm. I drove to the next exit and parked. Eventually the rpm's dropped to 1500 and i shut it off.i do not feel safe in that truck at all. My wife drives the truck more often than i do, it really scares me to think if she were driving when this happened. This issue was reported to chrysler on the 15th of sept, 2008. Chrysler case# 17902313 trucks there was a required update on the ecm which was done and currently no recalls on this vin#.

Dt*:the contact stated while the vehicle is initially started, there is a hesitation when the accelerator pedal is depressed.this is intermittent and the dealership has been unable to determine a problem.the computer has been checked for codes and the wiring was checked.

While applying the accelerator pedal vehicle failedto accelerate and moved on its own.vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem.

Intermittently when the accelerator pedal is depressed vehicle fails to accelerate and stays in the idle position. When this occurs the consumer coastsvehicle forward for a few seconds than restarts the vehicle. The vehicle is currently at the dealership.

These trucks have a common problem with the hvac blend/mode door.the doors break and then fall down into the hvac system and block airflow to the defrost vents. This can cause a major visibility issue with you cannot defrost your windshield. The warm air will only blow through the floor or face vents, not the defrost.windshield becomes iced or covered in snow and cannot melt to see.this is a very common problem on dodge trucks and numerous other owners have experienced the same problem.chrysler needs to recall this as a safety issue.

Wiper only functions when washer mode in pushed.then only make 1 swipe. Have replaced wiper motor and transmission, repaced multifunction switch, repaced wiper relay in fuse box.still no wipers.

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the headlights failed intermittently without warning. In addition, the windshield wipers failed intermittently and worked only at the slow setting. The dealer diagnosed that the tipm module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the part was on back order. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 06e023000 (exterior lighting) and 09e009000 (visibility). Cracked dash and broken, very sharp all over , junk.

Air will not blow through the defrosters.hot air will only blow through the air conditioning vents.there was a recall for this problem on 2009 and 2010 models.the recall should include all vehicles having this problem.it is a safety hazard not being able to defrost your windows.

The contact owns a 2003 dodge ram 3500.the floor and defroster vent failed.when the window was frosted, the vent would blow air, but not defrost the window.the contact replaced the heater flap before and it currently needs to be replaced again.the failure mileage was 160,000 and current mileage was 198,000.updated 3/18/08 updated 03/18/08

The problem is in a 2002 dodge ram van, still under the original warranty.i've had it in to the dealer many times to fix the heater/defrost and they claim it is working fine.the windows become fogged upon using the heater and it is difficult to see out the windows, which is very scary to drive and the van is to big for the driver to reach the windows and clean them off manually with a paper towel.if you put the defroster on high the front window clears up, but the side windows never clear up and you freeze because there is no heat coming in.it is imperative for driving these big vans that the side windows be clear as the mirrors are your only way to see behind of next to you as the van is very big.this is impossible when the windows are all fogged.it has been an ongoing problem and dodge will not try to fix it as they claim it is working properly.we feel that this is a safety issue as we are fearful of driving this vehicle, especially at night when visibility is worse. Your feet are like blocks of ice all the time.there is something wrong and dodge claim that it was designed to work this way.i think if this is true that there is a severe design flaw that should be researched.i'm not sure what my next step of recourse is.please advise or help if you can.*sc

Dt*: the contact stated the driver side windshield wiper stopped working.the contact stated upon inspection of the wiper, the key was missing from the keyway slot that keeps the wiper arm on the shaft which enables the wiper to turn.this missing part caused the gears to be stripped.the dealership has been alerted and informed the contact there were no recalls on the vehicle.

I have a 2003 dodge quad cab 3500 5.7 hemi with 21,432 miles. I have replaced both lower ball joint after failures. The ball joint separated on each occasion and damaged the rims on the inside.
