I own a 2002 dodge ram 3500 24v cummings diesel. I experienced a very serious engine failure my engine just turned off all its own.apparently this is an well documented incident with this make and model.the failure is the lift pump, you will notice what a problem this is by going to any search engine with the search criteria of "dodge + lift pump"there are a lot of stories just like mine posted all over internet bulletins hosted all over the country.very serious issue considering these trucks are meant to carry heavy loads.i am convinced someone has already gotten hurt.there is a recall on the lift pump for the for 2000 it takes into account only a select few that were built in select plants within very specific dates.not at all encompassing.please see to it that this is followed up.

(1) i began having the infamous "dead pedal" syndrome about three months ago. Trying to pull out onto a freeway was especially dangerous when the dead pedal would happen.it would happen off and on, when you would least expect it.(2) the vp44 finally went dead on or about august 9th, 2007. The consequences were not having a ride to work, and having to borrow my neighbors truck for three days.(3) to correct the failure required getting a new vp44 pump to replace the old one, which cost me out of my pocket $1,600 out of my own pocket.being that i am a active duty infantry officer in the united states marine corps, (currently stationed at new river air station, camp geiger, north carolina) and have been on three combat deployments in the last three years, i haven't that much money to spend.i have used my combat pay for paying for a wedding, house, and getting out of debt.

Cracked dash ~ so bad the whole dash has caved inand it iscausing the air conditioner to not work properly.
I bought a 2002 dodge 3500 brand new in 2002. 4 months later the dash cracked. I brought the truck to the dealer ship several times with my warranty and they refused to fix this issue. Since then to now we have continued to contact chrysler corp. And the dealership with this issue to just be put off time and time again. You pay 33,000 for a truck within 4 months the dash cracks and dodge tells you its cosmetic your bumper to bumper warranty will not cover it.i feel it is a safety issue because pieces of the dash can come loose and the dash itself is loose.
Dashboard on my aug 2002 built dodge ram 3500 has extensive cracks. Internet sites show a number of other dodge vehicles with this same issue - some much worse than mine. Potential safety risks include distracting driver due to dash cracking. Other owners with more severe cracks have reported electrical system failures due to dashboard cracks and dashboard falling inward.
Dash started cracking about 2007 and is not starting to fall apart in big sharp pieces. If air bag would ever go off i don't know where these pieces would end up, hopefully not in me.
I own a 2002 dodge 3500 1 ton dually and my dash has started to crack.i called my local dodge dealer in claremore oklahoma ( melton dodge ) and they gave me a number to contact the manf. With which is 1-800-992-1997.i called them and they told me my dash would have to be inspected by a dodge dealer to verify that the crack was not caused by me and then led me to believe that they would make good on it.i took my truck to melton dodge in claremore oklahoma and they did their inspection and found out the defect had nothing to do with me and it was in fact a dodge defect. I called the manuf. And they told me that since it was not hindering the airbag and i had a 140,000 miles on it they refused to do anything about it.this would not bother me so much except for the fact that they have replaced other customers dashboards with more miles than mine and older ranging from free to the customer paying part of the bill.i work with a gentlemen that has a dodge that is older with about the same miles as mine and they replaced his for free. I have owned my last dodge truck they have an inferior product that they wont stand behind. If not for the cummins engine i would have already traded my truck in for a chevy or a ford super duty.you don't see there dashboards cracking or caving in.i pull a trailer alot and i have several friends that have dodges the same year as mine or in that body range and all of their dashboards are cracked as well.this is very upsetting.
Dash board broken and falling apart. Parts falling in are very sharp and dangerous. It is like someone holding a knife in front of you when driving down the road, hoping you don't hit anything.
The contact owns a 2002 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the dash board had developed a crack and the electrical wires underneath was exposed to the view. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 150,000.
My 2002 dodge ram 3500 pickup dash board is cracking. First it started as a small crack and now it has become a crack almost a foot long. There are other cracks in the dash as well (around the gauge cluster).at times my low beam lights flicker on and off while driving at night. Nothing has been done about the cracked dash, i contacted my local dodge dealer and they said that there was no recall on the item and they could do nothing. A new dash quoted $455.00 just in parts. That is far to much for a dash that should have not cracked in the first place, and for a truck that is not that old.
My 2002 dodge truck is like so many others, the dash is cracking and crumbling into the electrical wiring behind the dash. During research it seems to be a problem with a lot of these dodges and also a safety problem, which dodge has choose to ignore. I realize that to sum this is not life threatening but with some of the complaints and results of the dash following into the electrical componentsunder this faulty dash , it could cause accidents and or serious injuries.
While driving over 60 mph or whenthe vehicle hit a bump in the road, the steering wheel shook violently, which made it very difficult for the driver to control thevehicle.the dealer replaced the steering stabilizer and the track bar under warranty.

The mechanic was unable to perform a front end alignment because the right upper ball joint was defective. The ball joint was replaced.
Full size spare truck tire fell off of truck while driving down the road. Cable snapped.truck had just passed state inspection 1 week prior and i had just checked the air on the spare that morning.
Valve stem came offdriver's side tire and air came out of tire.the valve stem blew off.
The contact owns a 2002 dodge 3500.while driving 30 mph, the factory installed hitch split in half off of the bracket.there were no warning signs prior to the failure.the dealer informed the contact to call daimler chrysler.daimler chrysler stated that nothing could be done because the vehicle exceeded its warranty.the failure and current mileages were 165,000.
Have a 2002 dodge ram 3500 that i bought new and the dash has disintegrated. The plastic is defective and has crumbled into a multitude of pieces. These pieces fly out of the air vents into your eyes and are sharp and will cut like a knife. This is a danger not only to my eyes but it i was to have a wreck they would fly and cut you. Have had to remove the pieces from vents that won't blow out that have gotten into the ac/heat door flap.i have never had a dash on any car or truck fall apart like this. If you just touch it it falls apart.
