Pieces of dash fell down under dash and caused the air bag to trigger. Put in a new passenger air bag and dash and 4 years latter all cracked up and a piece has caused a coolant leak in heater core under the dash. This is a major problem. I have a friend that the dash pieces cut wires and set it on fire.

My daughter lost her left arm when it went through the driver's side window during a vehicle crash.she was driving a 2001 dodge ram 3500 dually.the airbags did not deploy and the front axle came off.i suspect a vehicle defect in the axle and airbags.i want to know why vehicles don't have safety glass in the side windows; how many people have lost limbs in this manner; and, how many 3500 dodge ram vehicles have been involved in rollovers similar to this.

I try to replace the heater core on my 2001 dodge ram 3500 .and when the mechanic start to remove the dash board this start to falling in parts .so he try to put those parts backuntil he explain me what happen .itry to find an aftermarket dash and people on the store let me know .they believe it's a open recall for this failure dash on all models on ram .so i call to northwest dodge on houston texas and they said the recall was several years ago ..for that reason they can't fixed .after a research on the internet i find this place to file a complaint.because for me it's dangerous have a dashboard cracked with a sharp pieces .my dash cover falls in around 20 pcs .and the base of the whole dash in several cracked pieces ..and can't replace my heater core ..until i have the dashboard.

Consumer was traveling on a road onto a service rampandwas turning left. When turningvehicle back to rightsteering didn't move at all.also, airbag light stayed on the panel, and the cruise controlwasn't operable.

My dashboard is falling apart. There are pieces of plastic everywhere including right in front of the airbag, which would quite literally turn into flying death particles if the airbag ever went off, completely defeating the purpose of the airbag. This really should be a recall isue as it has quite a big impact on safety of the airbag system with brittle plastic shards flying everywhere. This didn't happen all at once, it's happened over the years, and i even keep a dash cover on it since the day i got it. The plastic is just simply poor quality, it's not from sun fading, or anything else.

The contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the dashboard deteriorated to the point that the plastic was warped and caved into the electrical wiring and components intermittently, causing the instrument panel to fail sporadically.the headlights were also low and the contact had attempt to use the dimmer to no avail. Also, the service engine and air bag sensor illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the oxygen sensor was defective and that the dashboard could be replaced at the owners expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000

March 27, 2006, husband was ran off road by unknown vehicle. He was going about 40 mph and made impact with a tree at about this speed. He hit the curb went airborne, according to eyewitness, my husband does not remember, and hit the tree, causing major damage to his work vehicle. The drivers side airbag never deployed. My husband fractured the c-5 vertebrae in his neck, his right hand is weak and numb, and also he had bruising to his brain which causes memory lapses and other problems.

Vehiclewas involved in a head on collision while driving at 25 mph. Upon impact, none of the frontal air bags deployed. The seat belt restrained the driver so he only sustained minor bruises.

2001 dodge ram 3500, dash board has completely cracked apart with large section cracked out.it began with a crack extending from the defroster vent and encompassed the whole dash in a matter of weeks. Dodge has refused to acknowledged the problem even though it is wide spread. This is a safety issue particularly if an air bag deployment happened the shards from this dash are like a razor.

Friday feb. 4, 2011 my son was in a accident in his 2001 dodge truck his airbag didn't deploy.

Nhtsa campaign 01v153000; daimler chrsyler issued a clock spring material recall. However, this vehicle was not included in the recall due to vin although the air bag check light remained on.owner's manual stated thatthe that air bag wouldnot operate if the air bag light illuminated constantly.

The dash on this truck has cracked and fallen in, exposing the wiring inside the dash to the sun.the wiring insulation is not rated for exposure to direct sunlight (uv exposure) and is decomposing, putting the truck at risk of a fire initiating inside the cab at highway speeds, due to exposed wiring shorting to ground.dodge refuses to remedy it, despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue with them.it is my understanding that this is a widespread issue, yet the nhtsb has not forced chrysler/fiat into a recall, claiming that it isn't a safety issue.do you need to see death before you act?

2001 dodge ram 3500 cummings engine (auto trans) on steering/brake hydraulic assist system*cwthe consumer stated on 5 occasions when he went to start the vehicle, he discovered a complete loss of hydraulic power, but the engine continued to run.the loss disable both the steering and braking. The dealer could not find anything wrong with the vehicle, however, the consumer was charged 245 for replacing the brake fluid. The consumer was unable to convince the dealer to replace the power steering pump or any other component in the hydraulic power system.the failure subsequently repeated on two more occasions.

While i was driving to work smoke started entering the cab so i began to pull off the highway.i began to notice bright lights from under the dash.before i could get out flames began to enter into the cab.i only had time to jump out of the truck and watch it engulf into flames.i was able to get out without any harm to myself.the only thing left is the bed of the truck.

The consumer feels that the 40 amp fuse in the travel trailer powers too may pins in the seven wire trailer receptacle.when this fuse blows the following functions are lost: 1) trailer marker and tail lights 2)12 volt 3)electric brake. *mr *nlm

Head light switch heats up after one hour of operation, the dash board above the light switch becomes hot to the touch. My concern is that if the lights are used longer than i have had to use them will the switch fail?the dealer has been helpful but this problem i believe is beyond the dealer and needs to be addressed by the manufacture. The dealer has replaced the switch once but the new one also heats up. I am also concerned that when i start towing a trailer with more lights on will the switch heat up even more and cause a fire.

From the date of purchase, the vehicle will not track straight ahead without constant correction with the steering wheel. Higher sppeds is less noticable but speed 40 to 55, the truck hunts left and right continously. Had dealer check alignment shortly after purchase when new and they said it was fine. No additional visits to the dealer since. Due to the continous wandering, tire wear is excessive on the steering axle.

Lift pump on 3500 series dodge ram with cummins diesel. *nlm

The fuel transfer pump did not have enough pressure to properly send enough fuel to the diesel injection pump which failed at 74,365 mile on the 2001 dodge 3500 pickup. This created a loss of power or acceleration at the desired time or level needed. This could have cause an accident due to lack of power. The dealer claims the injector pump failed due to after market chip installed by original owner. But the selling dodge dealer of this used vehicle did not replace with factory chip when sold to me last october. Vehicle had about 22,000 miles then. They did replace the transfer pump under warranty. But charge me $2576.79 for the replacement of the injection pump. We feel that the transfer pump was the cause for failure and the injection pump should have also been under warranty.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving on the interstate at 55-70 mph the vehicle stalled suddenly without warning.the vehiclerestarted, but would not accelerate enough to drive. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where they determined the fuel transfer pump failed.the fuel injector pump also failed due to the fuel transfer pump failure.

I own a 2001 dodge 3500 diesel pickup. These trucks year models 1998.5-2002 equipped with the diesel option are notorious for the fuel transfer pump failing. I feel this failure causes an accident hazard, because when it fails the truck stops right there whether you are in the middle of a high speed intersection or on the highway in heavy traffic. As you can see either of these cases could result in causality or even death of the driver, passengers and other motorist. Given the nature of the vehicles intended uses of this model it is not uncommon to see these trucks loaded with trailers of various sizes most of which weight 7000 lbs and over. Combine that with the forces of another passenger vehicle, and the result is very dangerous. There is a website (www.tdr1.com) dedicated to the dodge diesel that has information about these issues that would keep you reading for days about failures. I bring this up because i have experienced 3 failures in the past year. One was in my driveway so i did not cause an incident, but the other two were in dangerous situations the last was when my wife was pulling one of our horses in a trailer that weighs 6000 lbs add the weight of the horse and gear and it brings that up to about 8000 lbs now add the truck which is abound 6900 lbs and you have close to 15000 lbs of dead weight sitting on the side of the highway now take a 4000 lbs suv and slam it into the back of the trailer. Now i'm no physicists but i know at least one person is not walking away. What i would like to see happen is for dodge the step up to the plate and admit there is a blatant disregard to safety attributed to a system malfunction.

Fuel pump fails and gives no warring, burns up the fuel injection pump from non lubrication. Dodge knows this and is not telling the american people and you can not buy this fuel pump anymore. The fix is costly and now you put the pump in the gas tank. This is not fair. Please help!!!!!!

On any cummins powered dodge truck built after 1998 1/2 the throttle positioning sensor is malfunctioning shutting down the motor without warning causing the vehicle to slow very rapidly and to totally loses power. When this occurs the driver is without power until the sensor decides to work again. Two weeks ago this problem occurred causing a accident in rush hour traffic, driver was run over by semi truck in rush hour traffic. Should someone be towing a camper or trailer up hill and this takes place the vehicle could stop suddenly allowing the vehicle to be rear ended violently or those without much towing experience to lose control of vehicle. This problem occurs regardless of speed or towing. I am commercial driver and have had this happen approximately 30 times in all kinds of weather and traffic. Chyrsler/dodge refuses to allow me to speak with a rep and cummins has discontinuedputting this part on motors. Someone is going to get killed if something is not done soon.. I personally know approximately 50 truck with this problem and cost to fix is 1400$ when parts stores sell sensors for 200$. I want to speak with someone about this problem as i am a retired truck driver and see a very dangerous problem here if it happens to a inexperienced driver.

My complaint concerns my vehicle. The reason im writing is in hopes that we can get a safety issue addressed, and corrected. There has been a repeated trend over several years now concerning the lift pump (fuel transfer pump) utilized in the 2500/3500 cummins diesel application. I am a member of the failed lift pump club and have experienced this lift pump failure on my 2001 3500 dodge ctd 2 times. This failure causes the truck to loose power and sometimes die in both cases mountainous 2-lane roads with no pullouts. This can be life threatening if the truck owner is on the highway towing a loaded trailer or as i was in the mountains. I am not alone in this concern, there are thousands of 1998.5 - 2002, 24 valve cummins turbo diesel owners that are concerned and have complained to dodge about this problem with no resolution. This can be documented by going to the turbo diesel register on the web. Http://www.turbodieselregister.com/...15&pagenumber=2.

Truck caught a fire while it was turned off---at the fuel tank and burned the whole bed, tires, company material, employees tools--all the way to the dash

The contact's daughter owns a 2001 dodge ram 3500.the vehicle started after the contact's daughter made several attempts.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the transfer pump failed and needed to be replaced.currently, the vehicle is experiencing the same failure; however, the injection pump failed and needs to be replaced.the current mileage was 183,766 and failure mileage was 170,000.

The contact owns a 2001 dodge 3500. The contact stated that the vehicle surged from a cold start. Once the vehicle was warmed, the contact experienced a loss of power and will the vehicle would not accelerate. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic who advised that the fuel injector pump and the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The failure and the current mileages were 150,000.

The contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the fuel injector pump failed twice within a year and a half. The first time the failure occurred, the contact was told that it was because the fuel pump had failed. The contact was advised to add fuel pressure gauges because it would help the injector pump not to fail if the fuel pump failed a second time. The contact stated that the remedy did keep the fuel pump from failing however, the fuel injector pump failed again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was told that the failure was common for her particular vehicle. The dealer rerouted the fuel pump in order to correct the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000 and the current mileage and failure mileages were 125,000.

The contact owns a 2001 dodge 3500. The contact stated that he noticed smoke emitting from the tail pipe as the vehicle failed to shift gears. The contact had to wait for the smoke to cease before the vehicle would operate normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the diagnosis who stated that they needed to replace the fuel filter. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under recall. The failure and the current mileage was 150,000.

My truck was in park but still running. I got out to shut the gate and the truck started to accelerate backwards, rolling through my gate, knocking down part of a neighbor's fence, over two cement parking stops and into a tree.when i got to the truck, it was still running and still in park.

While merging onto the highway, the vehicle would onlu go into first gear.following this, the consumer immediatelypulled over to the median.the consumer put the vehicle in park, and let it idle for a few seconds before merging back onto the highway.the vehicle hesitated before it accelerated to the second gear.the dealership indicated that this problem could have been caused by the transmission failure, but they will need to inspect the vehicle to confirm this.the transmission totally failed.the vehicle refused to go into reverse on the second occasion. *sc

Consumer complained that while drivingat 45 mph automatic transmission locked up in the third gear, tookvehicle to an independent repair shop, and technician determined that overdrive bearing was put in backward.

While driving the vehicle transmission would not shift properly.it was later determined that switches in the transmission needed to be replaced.*nlm

While driving at any speed up hill and no warningtransmission will decelerate even when foot is on the accelerator, and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle. Dealer notified.

Transmission in my vehicle had to be rebuilt.the mechanic stated 2nd gear was burnt out and the transmission was shot.had to change torque converter and bands.the mechanic stated the holes in the trnasmission were to samll and would not let fluid flow freely and keep the transmission cool.therefore the transmission had to be replaced. The fuel pump has also been replaced twice on this vehicle and it is only 3 years old.

When pulling a trailer and going uphill transmission shifts down.dealer replaced transmission under warranty, did not remedy the problem.

Transmission failed to go into park, even though the column shifter selector was indicating that the transmission was in park. Transmission was in reverse, while the column indicated park.

Consumer was able to start the vehicle and shift the gear without applying the brakes. Dealer was notified. Dealer informedconsumer that was the normal characteristic of that vehicle.

2001 w3500 dodge 4-wheel drive front driver axle lockup. Had input shaft failure occur during snow storm which caused the pinion and ring gear to lock together. When this happened the front end would not turn. Luckily happened at low speed without loss of control or collision. Truck has ~17500 miles on it and chrysler would not cover it under warrantee. I have digital photos of the failed parts if you can provide email address i can submit them.

Nv5600 6 speed transmission has severe gear clash in third and fourth gears. Will not down shift into third gear with gear grinding. Trouble started about 1 month ago, at 92, 000 miles. Dealer tells me that parts are not available to repair and they are not sure if dodge is having a problem. Tsb 21-009-01 indicates dodge knew of problems in 01, but have not done much since then.

There is a grinding noise in the standard 6 speed transmission that gets worse when it is in the reverse gear.this could result intransmission going out at anytime.the cause of the noise was undetermined.*scc

Vehiclewas involved in a head on collision while driving at 25 mph. Upon impact, none of the frontal air bags deployed. The seat belt restrained the driver so he only sustained minor bruises.

In general public vehicle used to transport 30+ passengers daily the seat belt buckle - male end on shoulder harness has broken on 2 units.these units are in different vehicles so no relation to passenger abuse. Shoulder harness no longer secures to lap belt. Attempt to get conversion company to warrenty. They indicate the manufacture will not warrenty buckle longer than 1 year. If accident occures potential for injury to passenger.

Consumer was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle and driver's side seat began to move up, causingsteering wheel to break onceair bag deflated. Also, seatswere not reinforced oncelatchwas broken. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further details.

The cummings diesel engine.the vacuum pump couplings that are attached to the power steering unit which sits on two 1/4 pieces of steel and controls the front end of the vehicle are broken , resulting in no steering and braking.consumer contactedchrysler.however, no one will talk to consumer.

The contact owns a 2001 dodge 3500. The contact stated that every brake line was replaced in the last two weeks. The mechanic stated that the lines had to be replaced because of faulty metal used for the brake lines. There was no rust or corrosion on the lines instead they were just brittle and broken. The rear brake lines were replaced first and then the lower and upper brake lines in the front. The failure mileage was 76000 and the current mileage was 79000.updated 1/12/11*ljthe master cylinder had to be replaced as well. Updated 03/02/11

Pulled into fueling station, stopping at pump, pedal went to floor board. Checked brake reservoir it was empty, added 1 pint of brake fluid. No signs of leak. Found signs of fluid on frame driver side behind fuel tank, pulled tank to find a very rusted brake line and a hole in brake line. Checked other brake lines, all are badly rusted. The gas lines running next to the brake line are not rusted at all. Truck parked in barn all the time, very seldom driven in winter.

While braking, intermittently thebrake pedal went go to the floor which caused extended stopping distance. The dealerships replaced the master cylinder once before, but the consumer was still having the same problem. Please provide moreinformation.

Brake failure occurred while trying to stop at a intersectionno accident occurred but use of emergency brake was needed.wheelworks found the problem to be a leaking hydraulic brake line which needed to be replaced. Cost about 250 dollars.

While braking consumer experienced extended stopping distance.the vehicle was taken to the dealer.the dealer informed the consumer that all the brakes were worn.the consumer refused service and took the vehicle home to inspect it.he determined that the front brakes were alright, but the right rear brake caliper was stuck and the left rear brake shoes was worn.the vehicle was taken to the service dealer october 2003 at 16,000 miles for a safety inspection and passed.the consumer believes they failed to properly check the brakes.

Dt:consumer statedthe brake pads spit out of the driver'sside front wheel.both front wheels were checked, and the brake pads were completely dissolved.they dug deep holes in the rotors.at the same timeas this happened the brake line that wentto the rear wheels had heavy corrosion and they blew out at that point.other heavy corrosion on other brake lines cameout of the abs control unit.the brakes were not worn out, but they totallydissolved.vehicle was not used for heavy towing, and it has not been used in the water.

While applying abs at low speeds, brakes failed, resulting in a minor collision.dealership found that seals of master cylinder/ front disc rotors, and calipers were ruined.the calipers were leaking fluid on the right front side.the pads were replaced. The brakes were fine so consumer drove on.the next day the brakes falied to stop vehicle causing consumer to hit a semi truck.the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the brakes, calipers and rear shoes were replaced. This did not fix the problem. The mechanic discovered the master cylinder was bad and needed replacing.*jg

Vehicle has been to dealer a minimun of 8 times between sept and dec. 02. Steering and brake problem have never been corrected. Dealer has replaced power steering / brake fulid which had turned black. Replaced lower ball joint, tie rod, power steering pump, steering gear box. With my permission the truck was taken to the dodge tech center where the tech / trainer used my vehicle for demonstration lesson /diagnosis and determined that the hydra pump (brake cylinder)was defective. This too was replaced with no better results. Please be aware that hydraulic brakes and steering are a part of the same system and share 1 pump. The tech advisor as well as the service manager together with the mechanic agree that this system is inadequate.dt

2001 dodge ram 3500 diesel. Consumer states problems with brakes *tgwthe consumer noticed that each time he tried to move the steering wheel, the brake pedal would fluctuate and then lock up. After several minutes, the consumer was able to get the truck off the highway, but the brakes were still locked. Thepower brake booster had to be replaced.

When turning the steering wheel towards the right, the wheels would not turn with the steering wheel. The owner was unable to control the vehicle. This caused the driver to hit an embankment head on. The owner had the vehicle towed to the dealership to be inspected. Please provide any further details.

At speeds above 55 mph and as semi trucks pass me this roadtrek 190 verilite dodge ram 3500 uncontrolably move a foot to 2 feet toward the center line of the road which i fear could cause a head on collision.i have tried various tire pressures to remedy the problem without success. I basically loose control of the steering. The vehicle has only 30,000 miles and excellent tread on tires.

Consumer was traveling on a road onto a service rampandwas turning left. When turningvehicle back to rightsteering didn't move at all.also, airbag light stayed on the panel, and the cruise controlwasn't operable.

2001 dodge ram 3500 2 wheel drive. Front end "death wobble". Happens over 40 mph when you hit a large bump. Won't stop till you slow down. Have had since new and started to fail after 36,000 mile warranty expired. Have changed ball joints and idler arm and has been to several front end shops saying nothings wrong. Currently the truck has 67,000 miles on it.

I have a 2001 3500 dodge ram truck, about a month ago i took my truck in to the front aligned and they found that the frame where the steering box is the frame has cracked in it on both side of the frame, causing the steering box to have play it. They said they could not realigned the front end, that the frame needs to be welded and it was going to cost me 2,500.00 . So i park the truck because it is unsafe to drive. The other day i went to move the truck and the steering box fell off the frame, and the crack in the frame on the truck got bigger. I have to strap the steering box to the frame to get it moved we i called dodge about if there was any recalls on the frame they said no, they ask me how many miles were on the truck and i said what does that have any thing do with it. At this point the truck is unsafe to drive and i 'm still paying the load on it. I need some help on what to do at this point. I feel dodge should repair it, since on the newer truck they reinforced the frame where the steering box is on the frame. If i continue to drive the truck and theframe cracks in half it will cause me to crash, i'll loose my steering. I need help

Steering is messed up, it will not allow them to stay on road above 45mph. Steering gear box replaced, consumer states vehicle would not track, any correction would cause fishtailing and vehicle would over correct itself.

Dt:june 29, 2005 on highwa while y doing 50-55 mph pulled into drive and thought hit a pole because the whole left side was wiped out of the vehicle.the mirror come in, looked under front end everything looked fine, didn't have steering problems went about 30 miles, came back, went to turn left, acted like it didn't want to turn left. Vehicle wanders left and right at any speed. Vehicle taken to dealer 5 times, replaced steering box and tie rod end, did wheel alignment. Did not remedy problem. Vehicle at dealership at this time.

The power steering failed or locked up, which caused an accident. The vehicle rolled over several times. Consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer several times prior to incident. There were injuries.

My husband noticed a problem with the steering, took to dealer for service, told me it needed track bar and piston, i questioned the cost he then told me only needed a front end alignment, went to repair facility recommended by dealer, specialist wouldn't do work ball joints were bad. Took it back to dealer they refused to work on the vehicle. Took truck to another dodge dealer, ball joints were so bad they were dangerous, track bar, inner tie rod, and the hub bearings crumbled when they were removed. This vehicle has an extended warranty, that is only covering the ball joints. The vehicle is a 2001 dodge 3500 4x4 dually, that has never been off paved roads it is not abused and only has 49000 miles on it and chrysler will not help i feel this is a problem with manufacturing quality.

Entire right side of the dash has cracked and broken away exposing the airbag and other wiring to sun light.i am concerned that the air bag will deteriote or malfunction.can not place any thing on the dask, it falls thru the dash and is lost forever.

Dash board cracking/collapsing, electrical problems secondary to dash problems.broken plastic pieces of the dash are now projectiles for me and my family if there was an accident, or air bag deployment.

I have a 2001 dodge 3500 laramie slt. The dash is broke all to pieces. I have researched and this is a problem with alot of dodge vehicles in certain years. I am a 49 year old blind in one eye male. I have to wear glasses as pieces of the dash breaks off and flies in the air in my truck. I would like to keep my other eye in working order as i am disabled and can not afford to fix the dash or purchase another vehicle. It causes my windows to fog and i can not get them unfogged as to drive in the cold. I can not see out the windows at night especially with on coming head lights. This is a safety hazard to me as well as other drivers. This is a matter that you should really address. It is time that you make a stand for the millions of people who have this problem and make dodge stand behind their product. You say you will not do a recall because it is not a safety hazard well i am here to tell you to take another look at this situation. Thank you for your input and help with this matter not only for myself but, the rest of america that lives with this problem. Look around and read the millions of complaints where this is concerned.

2001 dodge ram 3500 dashboard failure!! dash started getting large cracks in it several years ago, now i removed it to replace the heater core and the dash fell apart into, literally 22 pieces. After trying to find one i go to realize this is a common and major safety problem for this year and after phone calls to the dodge dealer and to dodge themselves they do not care nor do they want to help and good luck affording a new one. Only thing i can find that is reasonably priced is a dash `cover` but i do not even have enough large pieces of dash to reinstall to even cover it.

Dash cracking.

2001 dodge ram 3500 dash fell apart when i turned on the defroster sharp debri flew into my eye. Also small uts on face and neck from the flying shrapnel. Dodge says its not a safety issue. I beg to differ.

I have a 2001 dodge 3500 and a 2002 dodge 1500 both of them have extremely bad cracks in the dash. The 3500's dash is the worst of the two it is starting to cave in my fuel level gauge and a/c doesn't work because of the pressure on the connectors. It continues to get worst and dodge should be held accountable for this.

2001 dodge ram 3500 dash crackingaround passenger airbag.seems to be a widespread problem with dodges.

The dashboardcracks and falls apart leaving sharp areas that can cut open someone's forehead in a crash.

I have an 2001 dodge ram 3500.the dash is broken in many places and falling into the dash compartment.i am worried that this may cause problems with wiring or airbag components if not fixed.there is no reason dodge should not have issued a recall for this problem.it seams to be a very common problems with dodge trucks.

Dashboard panel split around passenger's air bag. Consumer believed this might cause an inadvertentair bagdeployment. Dealer was notified, andinformed consumer that warranty expired, and the part was not covered under a manufacturer'srecall.

The dashboard of our 2001 dodge ram 3500 dump truck has caved in.

Dashboard cracking around airbag and has sharp splinters and holes causing electrical problems.

The entire dash panel started falling apart in 2006 on my 2001 dodge ram.parts started falling down inside the instrument panel and the dash assembly around thepassenger airbag is falling in.

2001 dodge 3500 pickup, bought used 2 years ago with one small crack in the dash cover. Now the cover has disintegrated over the steering wheel leaving a large hole in the cover. There has been no accident yet but there is the potential if left as it is for damage to wiring/components behind the dash that were not meant to be exposed. An internet search reveals many others with the same complaint.

Approximate incident date is not accurate. The vehicle started with two lengthwise cracks years ago from windshield towards driverand passenger. Within the past two months the once rigid-pliable dash unit has cracked into brittle pieces with some falling into dash interior. Some pieces are jagged and pointed.

Dash on my dodge 3500 caved in and has several more large cracks that are likely to follow suit with the same failure. Dash pieces continue to fall in the structural part of the dash and several cracks are finding their way to my pass. Side airbag.

My dash board is in pieces i have called dodge and was told sorry about your luck and they have no one else with this problem hogwash its so brittle if you touch itwill crumble no satisfaction has been given at all this could cause a firei can see all of the wires its very scary.

Dash board cracked up and broke in to sharp pieces very dangerous could cut or stab a person. " a known problem".

The dashboard of the2001 dodge ram 3500 had several cracks that has been in the news lately. Possible hazard if involved in an accident. Many complaints being lodged with dodge and local media.

The dash in my truck is falling apart, there is a large hole in my dash that is a huge distraction while i'm driving, the rest of my dash is going to fall apart at any time now. I have contacted dodge about this, they will not repair it, i believe it is a manufacturer defect. And thus should be repaired by the manufacturer. I do not know of any other manufacturer that has this kind of problem.

Plastic dash is cracking and loose sharp pieces have been coming off into the cabin

The dash is falling apart. It has large cracks in it and pieces falling out.

I need help

Vehicle wanders all over road, in both directions, difficult to control. To dealer who aligned vehicle mechanic stated that dodge had a steering box problem. Consumer almost rolled vehicle due to this.

After driving over a common highway protuberance, the vehicle violently shookuntil the vehicle could be brought to a complete stop.this has happen on four different occasions.the first time the dealer said this was due to uneven front tire pressure. The third time, the dealer stated that they could not find what was causing the problem, because the problem is a random occerance that can not be easily duplicated.

The spare tire just dropped/completely disengaged from underneath the vehicle. Consumer was on the highway when the cable broke. The cable is of insufficient strength on this model. Because this is a heavy duty truck the tires are 10 ply and the wheels heavier than on a normal 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup.

The dashboard has crumpled up and cave in the plastic has deteriorated also rust has developed under the doors an underbody

Vehicle will justidle without any warning. Have to restart vehicle.
