I have a problem with dodge sending out safety recalls to replace defective parts and when i take my vehicle to the dealership to replace them im told the parts are back ordered.how can you recall parts whrn you dont have replacements.this is twice now.currently it is recall notice 25 / nhtsa 15v-313 and not so long a ago it was one about a defective tie rod end that took over a year to replace.im i not to drive my vehicle for a year?im putting my children in danger when doing so.these conditions are unacceptable in my opinion.

The vehical was being reapired at a dealer and it has been in 3 times to 3 diffent dealers to fix a check gauge light and they have not been able to reapir it.i also boguht in for the tie rod recall inspection and was told the vehical did not have a defective part.i dont belive them since they have not been a honest dealer.the truck is part of the main recall but i was told though dodge that its not being covered because they fixed the truck which i dont believe happened.i dont feel safe driving the truck with all the issues with dodge.i also just had the turbo replaced and now im getting desiel fumes coming into the truck.dodge is not willing and will not work with me to get these issues resloved.

I received a recall notice informing me that the air bag inflator could injure me if deployed.i called dealer and was informed that i will have to wait 1 month to have it inspected.i asked to have it disabled until it can be replaced and was told that the earliest time to have it looked at is august 31.in the meantime i'm expected to drive my vehicle with a possible hand grenade in the steering wheel.i feel that dodge and their dealers are not resolving this safety issue in a timely manner.if the airbag is unsafe, then it should be disabled immediately.

Went to take the buyback . Went to a local dodge dealer and they offered to buy my vehicle for $16,000. This was just to buy it to resell. They said the value was $18,750 but they were buying it to resell and had nothing to do with the buyback. Told me to contact fca. Contacted fca and they said they would buy it back for $11,000. That would be all the would give me for it. I have the papers from the local dealer who made the offer. I believe this to be a unfair resale offer plus an additional 10% that the offer was suppose to be.

Contacted chrystler online about recall buyback of truck, was told would be forwarded to another department, that the truck was on an n49 recall and an r25 airbag recall. Was told over 2 weeks ago ( aug 15th)somone would get in touch with me right away thru email. She told me she knew they would have the air bag fix buy november or december. Got in touch with 2 close dealers and they seemed to just wish me luck with the truck and buy back? i have not received any email or info on what is going on. Thanks

I have a 2009 dodge ram 2500 diesel. This truck has approximately 47,000 miles on it - completely stock version. I was sitting at a red light when my windshield fluid started to spray by itself. When i let out the clutch on the green light i lost all power to the vehicle. I attempted to re-start the vehicle and realized i had no power at all. I put on the emergency brake and put my keys in my pocket. I popped the hood and could see smoke coming from the tipm box under the hood. I opened the cover exposing the fuses and could see a massive electrical short occurring. After about ten minutes the tipm caught fire, the vehicle attempted to start itself, horn activated and began to slowly lurch down the road without a driver. I was thankfully able to stop the vehicle, but the engine red-lined as the tipm had a literal melt down. A passerby stopped with a fire extinguisher and helped me put out the fire and get the battery cables disconnected. As it turns out there have been multiple reports of this failure on several makes / models but chrysler is not addressing it. This is a major safety hazard that could've resulted in death. Nhtsa, cas and chrysler is aware of the issue but nothing is happening except customers having to repair this at their own cost. I am a loyal dodge customer and once repairs are made to this vehicle will be switching brands as this is unacceptable for any year / condition of vehicle but especially one this new and with only 47,000 miles on it. I would like something done to address this so other people aren't affected by this too.

Turn signal showing different turning directionnotice it almost daily especially on rainy days almost caused a serious wreck on 380 decatur texas with a gravel truck and a small can. He was very angry at me. We fought with it in our old truck and now in the new one we have had dodge trucks for about 30 years*tw

In motion the blinkers would turn on without me touching the switch. When i applied the left blinker the right one would turn on and vice versa. Finally the flashers turned on and i couldn't turn off. It started malfunctioning while i was driving down the highway at 60mph.

Driver side rear passenger interior door lock and interior light does stopped working over a year ago.i figured it was a selonoid or a loose connection in the door so i put it off.just recently 10/11/2015 i took the time to take the door apart and check all the connections.i had power to the speaker and window and nothing to the lock and interior light doesn't come on when the door is open.so i then checked for loose connections everything good.i then checked the connection between the cab and the door and i had a good clean connection.i then pulled back the rubber wire loom between the cab and the door and i found 4 unevenly cut wires.i did not fix them i left the connector disconnected.this is could be a extremely dangerous not to mention potentially deadly fire hazard.some how the loom is cutting the wires and could result in severe injury and or death.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 2500. While driving approximately 60 mph at night, the instrument panel lighting went out. Uncontrollable steering or front end wobbling. Aka death wobble, according to my vehicle history there are recalls that are for steering and the description of all those recalls say what could happen which is a loss of steering control resulting in a crash. All the recalls that i know of have been replaced. But i still have incidents where i lose control of steering and in order for it to stop, i have to stop the vehicle. I have had many many close calls, and hoping that this doesn't result in a loss of a vehicle or even death. It's a very big concern to me considering there has been recalls for the steering and front end. It will occur as soon as i hit a bump just right not even at high speed it happens at 35-70 mph no matter if it's flat ground or not. The entire truck shakes and feels like the wheels are bouncing off the ground. At that point being on the freeway having no control of my steering the only option i have it to slam on my breaks, it's a matter of time before something really bad happens

A few weeks ago my check engine light came on. Advance auto parts said an error code for the turbo charger was present. I have 43900 miles on the engine. Dealer told me it was not critical and i made an appt. Before bringing it back, a new code stated dpf filter full 100%. Brought it to the dealer and was told the dpf needed regeneration and would cost $150+. New trucks give warnings of 25%/50%/100% and "change driving habits". Apparently diesels shouldn't be driven in town w/overdrive. Instead we need to pull heavy loads. The only option: drive on the highway in 4th gear to bring rpms to at least 2500 rpm every so often! plus, the turbo charger apparently was clogged because i don't use the diesel automatic deceleration brake when not pulling a trailer. The dealer had to order some type of additive to clean the turbo charger and they did 3 cleanings with 3 cans of cleaner on a machine to let the engine run. The manager didn't charge me to do the cleaning since they were inter-related and happened together. Otherwise, there would have been another diagnostic charge and cleaning charge that took two hours to do. I asked if dodge was planning an upgrade to the onboard computer to provide those pre-warnings for the dpf filter. The svc mgr said no. Why not? from all i read, if the dpf filters gets to 100% it can damage the system. To replace the dpf, it and the catalytic converter would need to be replaced at a cost in the $5-6000! so, the only option is to periodically have them check the status using a diagnostic at a cost of $95 but likely, would not show anything until it gets to 100% full. This is ridiculous since they should be able to do a program upgrade to warn about the dpf filter as well as the turbocharger levels of soot. I bought the truck to pull an rv and only pull it every 6 months or so. Why pay $45,000 for a truck if you can't drive it around town.

The whole truck began shaking so violently, i thought i may loose control, or the truck would not stay upright.the shaking continued until i stopped on the shoulder.a careful inspection revealed no evidence of loose parts.i drove another 30 minutes (5 on freeway, 25 on surface roads) without another incident.baffling. I have driven this diesel truck in many conditions and on many surfaces with this truck.vibrations have been strong sometimes in the past, set off by "wash-boards" in the pavement...seem to be worse in the "tractor trailer/slow" lanes.but this event was 2-3 x the intensity.

Car was brought in 5 times to have various front end recalls performed , two different dealers bedard brothers in cheshire mass. And beterra for steering recall (now n49/nhtsa 13v-529) previously same recall had two or three different numbers. They have never had the parts and could never perform the recall.because they say that the steering may fail at any moment i have used the vehicle only when i absolutely have no other transportation. Hence as of today the car has 17,200 miles only. The other problem is loss of coolant , the egr cooler has been leaking , i have had it at dealers three times and they have no clue how to repair . This is a common complaint.because this internal leak goes into the turbocharger. The turbocharger failed and on 7/08/13 had to be replaced at 16,150 miles . That was the symptom of the egr cooler leak, but the cause (leaking egr cooler was not addressed then or on two following trips to the dealers. On to bedard and one to berterra. The chrysler case numbermay be 24954056after dealers worked on car two trouble codes appeared p052 and p0700 i don't want to continue driving a car that the steering will fail at any moment or the engine may blow because of coolant loss.

Driver's side seatbelt on 2009 dodge ram was cut 1/3 through by male part of seatbelt latch. I have owned this truck less than 30 days and 2200 miles of normal usage. .i respectfully request a complete safety design investigation by nhtsa and a recall of this obviously defective seatbelt latch design.thank you for your work;

While going on vacation pulling our 28' travel trailer with our 2009 dodge 2500. The front brakes locked up on the freeway, almost causing us to almost go into the ditch. We safely pulled on to a side road, and found that the front brakes were smoking and very hot. After bring it to the dealership, it was discovered that the rubber brake lines had failed [collapsing]. It was inspected, and found that the rear brakes were not working at all, and the front brakes had locked up on the calipers. The dealer informed us that they have been aware of this happening to some 2009 dodge 2500 service brakes. The truck has 85,250 miles on it and in good condition. This is a huge safety concern with us that needs to be addressed by chrysler dodge. Our truck has been in the shop for 3 weeks and costs will be over $1000.00 to repair it.

Front left caliper fell off - locked up wheel - drove into ditch.there was absolutely no work completed on the truck brakes, tires, etc. Prior to this occurring.the caliper bolts fell out, found one on road, caliper locked up against caliper locking front tire and pulling truck into ditch.no injury or damage to truck other than flat spot on tire.replaced tire with spare.dealer repaired and said never had that problem before.still not secure with truck or if any others are like this?if going at a faster speed could be deadly!

Brakes failed due to a corroded brake lines at the master cylinder. Happened in driveway before i got to the highway.

I just purchased a 2009 dodge ram power wagon 2500. I've been driving it for about 10-14 daysnow. (this is my 7th ram!) i immediately noticed a different feel in the steering wheel. When driving straight in the "12 o'clock" position, the steering wheel feels as though it not even connected to the wheels! there's no feeling of tension on the steering wheel, feeling as if the truck is driving on its own. Then, when hitting a bump, the wheels want to jump in one direction, causing you to have to counter steer to regain tension on the steering wheel to enable you to control the wheels, and sometimes nearly causing you to loose control! for a truck of this caliber (and price!), the steering should feel definite and constant. My dealership performed service (march 12, 2009) to the tie rods due to a recent recall. Didn't seem to make a difference at all. There has to be another issue or problem going on here.

Drivers side tie rod end broke at joint.i was backing out of a parking spot and started to turn the wheel and it broke.i was towed under warranty and the part was replaced, but they did not cover it under warranty because of my larger tires.i am a member of manyinternet forums and this is happening to too many trucks.stock or modified trucks it does not matter there is a problem with the part itself or the geometry of the steering.this is dangerous and somebody is going to get severely hurt or killed if this is not addressed soon!

Hi, i took my truck to sears to have the tires rotated and the steering checked because i had started to feel crow hopping when making slow turns. When they removed the front tires they checked to find what was creating the crow hopping as i had requested. They found that the cv joint on the drivers side was not working as it should, and upon removing it they also found that the ball joints were bad. At this point i had sears do the work because of safety concerns. They repaired the problem and so far the crow hopping seems to have gone away.i now understand that there has been a nhtsa campaign id#11v350000 . I have owned this vehicle since it was new ,but have never gotten a recall notice on this problem. I have contacted dodge and talked to customer service about re-imbursment and was told that there was nothing they could do because the parts replaced where not mopar and possibly because the work was not done at dodge. I think this is not right because i did not get a notice and i was not taking the truck until it was safe to do so.

My 2009 dodge ram 2500 started hopping after i hit a slight bump in the road.i was going about 50mph when thus happened.i could do nothing but take my foot off the gas to slow the truck down.it literally hopped down the road , it felt like we were in a paint mixer bouncing down the road. This has happened several times before but was never as bad as this time.my wife was with me this time and could not believe what it was doing.she told me if she had been driving she would have panicked and most likely wrecked the truck. Everything in the truck was being tossed around.this issue must be corrected before someone gets hurt or worse.

The complaint has to do with the complete failure of the driver side tie rod assembly. The stud completely sheared from the end of the tie rod assembly. The driver side tie-rod failure occurred on the morning of april 26,2011. This failure happened with almost no warning.the steering became loose for a second or two and then the front of the truck shook violently for just an instant and then the tie-rod failure occurred with total loss of steering resulting in both front wheels pointing inward to their full extent.at this point i was traveling between 20-25 mph.the truck then skidded across two lanes of traffic and stopped at the curb. I would also like to point out that nothing was struck by my vehicle to cause this failure.

While driving the dodge ram 2500 2009 year on the highway at 60-65 mph the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably after hitting a joint in the road between the asphalt and a bridge.i was unable to steer during this time and the vehicle shook so violently that the connectors vibrated off of the battery terminal, both batteries, at which time i lost all power.this almost resulted in my driving off of a bridge.the shaking would only stop upon coming to a complete stop.this happened 3 more times at slower speeds between 40-50 mph.i eventually had to get a tow truck to get us to our destination. This happened on highway roads and always after hitting a small bumps.mileage on vehicle is 89500.

Was at home, backing out of drive way,, the driver side tie rod fell off! could not get a tow truck inside my drive to take to the dealership to get fixed. So i got a buddy to help me remove the old tie rod end and replace it with a moog tie rod end. Had it realigned. My complaint is dodge won't reimburse me for the parts and labor.dodge supposedly checked this out 3-27-12 at bill hodges dodge in vinita, ok. They did a measurement and decided it was ok. Well not so!, it broke in my drive way backing straight back.what if i had been driving down the turnpike 75 mph? if it needs checked on a recall it needs to be replaced!!!!

Chrysler issued a safety recall for a possible left tie rod ball stud failure. The recall notice says to call for an appointment so the parts can be ordered prior to the appointment. When i arrived for my appointment i was told that chrysler only sends them only one part per month, and they have hundreds of recalls. When i asked if it was safe to drive, their answer was , it should be. I have not heard from them since. That was 2 months ago. I feel some action needs to be taken against chrysler to see that the parts are made available to the dealerships. This is for recall notice # n49 / nhtsa 13v-529.

We noticed for the past month that our tires were wearing on the outside of both front tires. We took the truck to 3 different les schwab tire businesses (weiser, idaho, emmett, idaho and ontario, oregon)and all 3 businesses told us that there was nothing wrong with the tires.driving at 25 mph last month, (july 8, 2015), we encountered a steering problem.the truck was wanting to turn at it's leisure while pointing in a straight direction.the steering was sloppy, would not self center, would drift to the left and right and not correct.approximately 15 minutes after this happened, we had a blow out on the passenger front.what was left of the tire and the driver's side was completely worn and "rough" looking.there was no way to change the tire as the wheel itself was "bowed" in.we had it towed to steve's hometown motors in weiser, idaho and they couldn't tell us what happened, but that the whole front end parts needed to be replaced, i.e., $2871.98 in parts and labor.they could not tell us what happened or why we needed these parts.they found that the adjuster bar was loose and all the front end needed all new parts.we did take it in for all the "recalls" on the front end and now fiat/chrysler is offering to "buy back" these vehicles that weren't fixed.our question is, can we be reimbursed for these repair costs due to these "faulty front end steering repair recalls".we believe that we are one of the customers that had the recalls done, but either incorrectly or with faulty recall parts.......updated 09/22/15 updated 12/12/2017

I received a safety recall notice n49/nhtsa 13v-529 for above truck in 12/13. I took truck to napleton dodge lake park,fl. Tel. # 561-622-0101 and was told the parts had to be ordered. Since then i had numerous contacts with the dealer's parts department. The parts clerks told me chrysler is limiting the number of repair parts needed to clear the recall. They first said the dealer could only order 2 a week. On 2/19/14 the parts clerk said chrysler has reduced the number to one every seven day, and that i was 50th on the list and they couldn't even order my parts for 350 days. They were sorry but there was nothing they could do since chrysler was limiting the ordering. The dealer has been polite but they blame the problem on chrysler not having the parts. I am concerned since i do not want to drive for a year with unsafe suspension especially since i frequently tow heavy loads.

Chrysler group llc sent us a recall on this truck.recall number n49, a left tie rod that may fail causing loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.i contacted the local chrysler co where we purchased the truck on january 9 and we have not been called back to replace the part.we are fearful of driving this truck because of the warning.we haul horses and do not want to have to worry about a crash and have to deal with loss of life, limb, truck, trailer, and horses.we think that chrysler should replace your truck with one that does not have a recalled part as they have been very slow in replacing the part.it is time.note mileage is low for a 2009 truck because of that concern.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529i have been waiting to get the recall work done on my 2009 dodge ram 2500 since december 1 2013. My local dodge dealer, (don k dodge chrysler and jeep in whitefish montana) said they put me on a list of customers for the same recall. I have stopped in once a month (6 times) since i was put on the list. During my last visit, i was told by the service manager that there were 137 people in line ahead of me. The service manager also informed me that dodge is only allowing them parts to do one recall repair every two weeks. From my calculations, that puts my wife, three kids and i 5.25 years of at risk driving before my truck will be able to have the defective parts replaced. I would like my truck to be repaired as soon as possible, as i cannot afford to buy another one. 7 months of waiting to find out it will be 5 more years is not reasonable at all. I sincerely hope to get this issue resolved in the near future. Thanks for your time.

I received an important safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 back in dec time frame, i immediately contacted crown dodge in fayetteville, nc. I call back two weeks later (mid jan) they explain that they have not received any parts and was told to bring in my truck so they can order parts assigned to my vin number which i did. After waiting several weeks i called crown dodge on 4 march 2014 and spoke with frank in the service dept. He explains to me that the parts were ordered last week. I don't understand how it has taken crown dodge over 2 months to order parts for this recall. [xxx] was unable to give a good explanation why it has taken so long to order parts. I explained to him that my truck has a severe death wobble problem and it is very hazardous to drive and i needed this issue fixed as soon as possible. I don't even let my wife drive the truck because i am afraid for her safety because of this issue. [xxx] could not tell me when the parts he supposedly ordered would come in. I am tired of waiting and hope you could shed some light on this problem i am having with crown dodge of fayetteville. Drivers side (short) tie rod end fractured while plowing 1" snow in parking lot.going straight forward, heard a clunk, then lost control of vehicle and stopped with plow in snow pile.in hindsight, this is a very scary failure and it is difficult to imagine a better outcome. Dealer fixed as a warranty claim and claims that the truck is not part of your investigation/recall for a very similar failure, making me wonder if there is a broader problem here.i tried to get the broken part, but the dealer would not provide it.no injuries or damage, but extremely inconvenient repair that cost me time, money and effort to hand shovel.plus my wife's time off work.best wishes, hope this helps make a safer vehicle.

Was driving on interstate 64 doing 70 mph hit small bump in road after a bridge truck started shaking really bad had to slow down an pull off on side of road to make it quit shaking just about got run overbig rig was right behind me seems like this happens to alot of dodge trucks would like to see recallbefore someone gets killed maybe i should just get rid of the truck not real happy consumer.

I received a recall notice from dodge/chrysler in december notifying me that parts to repair my truck would be available starting january 6, 2014.i called prior to january 1st and was told to call back after january 6th.i called back on february 10th and was placed on a waiting list with an estimated wait of 4 to 6 weeks.i have heard nothing as of today.so i followed up with the dealership again today and was told that they have not received parts from chrysler yet and i wasn't on the advisors list.i've been added again, but was told that there are over 3,000 trucks in my area waiting to be serviced with no estimate as to when the parts will be available.i was also told previously that chrysler sent parts to the dealership on a prior recall at the rate of one repair per week.if this is repeated this time it will take up to 3,000 weeks to be serviced.i've already waited over 3 months which seems unreasonable and have no assurance of being taken care of in the foreseeable future.how can we expedite this repair?

We own 3 2006 to 2009 dodge ram pickups with the cummins diesel motors.all three of them have had tie-rod ends either break or fall off while driving.it is a miracle that all of the instances occurred at low speeds.when they break you lose complete control over the steering.i am nervous to continue driving these vehicles.the parts department at the local dodge dealer said they are having the same issue with several other vehicles of this same make and model.

This vehicle received a recall alert 12/20/2013.this vehicle has been on the list at the dealership since feb. 2014 to have the needed repairs.according to the dealer, there is a long waiting list for the part and i haven't been called as of august 20, 2014. The dealership is flower motors, montrose, co.i don't understand why the parts are not available to fix this problem. I have to use this truck everyday and i'm concerned i may be in an accident.what advice can you offer? when can i expect to have this problem repaired?

2009 dodge ram 2500 has what is described by many as "death wobble". At freeway speeds (70mph here in mi) if some even minor bumps, pot holes are run over the front end of the truck starts to shake uncontrollably. To get control of the vehicle again you must slow to below 55mph. Many times just the drivers side front tire as bouncing or wobbling, recently the entire front end. Vehicle has had both prior recalls for tie-rod ends completed. Had front shocks changed in case they were the issue no change, had tires changed in case there was an issue with any of the tires, no change. Had belle tire techs look for issue with bouncing/wobbling tires they said everything was tight and in working order. Also has another garage look at it for the same issue they did not find any issues. This problem that looks to be pretty widespread with owners of 2009 ram 2500s makes this vehicle unsafe at highway speeds until a fix is found. I will ask dealer about bouncing/wobbling front end again but if this is on many of these trucks the problem will end up resulting in accidents should a driver not be able to slow down quickly to regain control of the steering. This problem has been happening for over a year on and off, i had avoided driving on the freeway until the last repairs where the tires were changed and the techs said everything was good with the front end. First time on the freeway at 70mph it happened again when a few small bumps were run over, the entire cab of the truck was shaking, other drivers behind and around me slowed as i am guessing they thought i was going to loose control and crash. I had to slow below 50mph before the shaking was under control and because the other drivers slowed it allowed me to get to the right and avoid an accident. So i will no longer use the truck at anything over 45mph and only use sparingly until the issue is identified and repaired.

I had received a recall letter from chrysler (n49 / nhtsa 13v-529) back in january and i had contacted my dealership (carl burger's dodge in la mesa, ca 91942) shortly after receiving the letter. I was told that my name was added to a list and that they would contact me after the parts had arrived to replace the left tie rod ball stud on my truck. In may, i sent the dealership an email requesting an approximation for the recall work to be performed. I outlined an upcoming trip that i needed to drive my truck on and i never got a response. I called the dealership in june and was told that my name was still on the list but that i am number 147 and that chrysler was only shipping them (1) tie rod per week. I have an out of state trip planned for the end of august and i have serious concerns due to some clunking that i am feeling in the steering wheel that this tie rod could possibly fail. Last week i received the same recall letter from chrysler. I am not sure what more i can do? thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The driver's side floor mat keeps coming unhooked from the hooking device installed in the carpet. The floormat and the hooking device were both replaced at approx. 7000 mile because of this problem. It has now become a problem again and the dealer advises that chrysler will not correct the problem again. I have contacted chrysler by e-mail and they want me to go to another dealer and see if they will correct it. The next closest dealer is 28 miles away and my truck gets about 14 mi. Per gal. I feel like chrysler is giving me the run around. My 2009 ram 2500 only has 12,400 miles on it. Why can't chrysler take care of this problem rather than trying to make another dealer take care of it?

Recall i can not get dodge land to repair. I have called 5 times. What can i do to get my truck repaired?

Serious shimmy at highway speeds. Truck has 61k miles and is maintained very well.

Have a safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 called dealer and told that chrysler only sending 1 part per week.i am #89 on the list. That's a year & a half out.very dangerous.do i have to park my truck for that long?

Was driving on interstate 64 doing 70 mph hit small bump in road after a bridge truck started shaking really bad had to slow down an pull off on side of road to make it quit shaking just about got run overbig rig was right behind me seems like this happens to alot of dodge trucks would like to see recallbefore someone gets killed maybe i should just get rid of the truck not real happy consumer.

Ball joint design on these model year trucks is horrible, the upper ball joint moves up and down while the bottom is stationary, when the top joint moves it causes to much pressure on the bottom ball joint, causing it to fail. We have now replaced the upper and lower joint in june, and again the lower joint in december. Our mechanic has seen multiple trucks with the same problem. The upper ball joint needs to be redesigned. It is a costly venture to replace ball joints every 6 months.

I received an important safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 back in dec time frame, i immediately contacted crown dodge in fayetteville, nc. They told me that they are aware of the situation and are waiting on parts to arrive and to call back in two weeks. Thank you helping me in this matter..information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated the vehicle would shake whenever driving over a bump at approximately 60 mph or more. The vehicle would become very difficult to control during the failures, so the contact would have to decelerate to approximately 30 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the steering column, as well as the upper and lower ball joints were replaced. The dealer stated that they were not sure what caused the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was 45,000.

Tpms valve stem failed causing a flat tire. The tire valve itself completely came apart while driving highway speeds. Indicator light came on, but so what , it was caused by its own flawed design. Upon inspection of the other tire valves, it is discovered that they are all cracked and ready to fail as well and need expensive replacement. This is unacceptable.. A "safety system" that is poorly constructed, dangerous, and required by law to be installed in vehicles. A recall must be mandated.

Retaining nut on tpms sensor split causing tire to lose all air. 1 week later another tire had complete deflation and tpms sensor had fallen in to wheel. Inspected all sensors and found all tpms retaining nuts had split. This can cause catastrophic air loss and is extremely dangerous. I have already replaced two entire sensors and will attempt to have retaining nuts on other two sensors replaced. Dealer will not perform work under warranty. This is an extremely dangerous manufacturing defect!!

Valve stem retaining nuts are all cracked.i caught them before they separated, but have read about others that have separated, allowing tpms module to fall into tire, which instantly deflates and could cause a loss of control.dealer says not covered under warranty despite being clearly a manufacturing defect.

When checking air pressure on my tires, i found cracks in the moto metal 909 rims on driver and passenger front.i am having them replaced with another brand, but after researching on the internet, this is not the first time.i do not offroad my truck, but do tow a 5th wheel.

There has been one recall to date regarding the computer system that is still a problem.

Chrysler buyback program issue. The buyback process is taking a long time and owners of buyback program eligible vehicles are getting stuck with long wait periods before we can have our vehicles appraised by a chrysler designated rep (we can't use a dealer to appraise we are told). This forces owners to continue driving their vehicles adding costly mileage that greatly affects the kelly blue book (kbb)value. That means when it's time to take our cars in for appraisal in the buyback program many weeks or months later we have accumulated mileage the customer is docked for because it impacts the kbb values.i'd requestnhtsa approach the court of jurisdiction in the matter and ,move it to force chrysler to compensate customers that are forced to continue driving their buyback vehicles while the customer is forced to wait. Fiat/chrysler has bee provided all the materials they requested of me and i still have to wait for them to call me back in several weeks to schedule an appraisal.

I received a recall notice on this vehicle from dodge last fall.went in this spring to get it fixed. The dealer said they were not receiving parts from dodge company.dealer said he would contact me when parts get in. Called the dealer last week because i had not received word from them.got another recall notice yesterday. Talked to dealer and said they cannot get repair parts soon enough to keep up with recall. Got in touch with dodge company. They responded and stated that when a dealer does recall repair they send in the fix and then are sent out another repair part. Seems dodge is dragging their feet per helping dealers receive parts needed. There is no way the dealers can get all these 2500 dodges fixed if they are shipping them by mule train methods as they are doing?the dot needs to get this dodge company moving and getting parts for their dealers. It looks like a deliberate stalling method?

Went out to start and it would crank over but not start up it was sitting in my driveway on fairly level surface then this morning it started up immediately with no trouble. Second time this has happened.

Cpsc: the truck broke down in the middle of the highway endangering my young child and myself. Dtthe consumer stated the vehicle was under warranty and in possession of the dealer until it can be repaired. The manufacturer was notified.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning as the instrument panel lights failed.the vehicle then abnormally and independently accelerated.in addition, smoke was seen coming from under the hood area. The vehicle then caught on fire. The contact was able to exit the vehicle without injury and the fire was contained by the local fire department.a police report was filed of the incident.the vehicle was destroyed but towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 2500. While driving in inclement weather, the windshield wipers would operate intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 09v084000 (visibility). The approximate failure mileage was 127,000.

Valve stem retaining nuts are all cracked.i caught them before they separated, but have read about others that have separated, allowing tpms module to fall into tire, which instantly deflates and could cause a loss of control.dealer says not covered under warranty despite being clearly a manufacturing defect.

Tpms retaining nut fell off & this caused flat tire at speed.this is the 4th tpms retaining nut that has failed on this vehicle.the other 3 were found cracked before they failed & replaced at that time (over the last 2 years).

When checking air pressure on my tires, i found cracks in the moto metal 909 rims on driver and passenger front.i am having them replaced with another brand, but after researching on the internet, this is not the first time.i do not offroad my truck, but do tow a 5th wheel.
