Takata inflators. I have been trying to get this repaired for over a year and i use my truck a lot but am afraid to carry my wife and children in the truck. We usually camp quite often during the summer but i can't pull our rv for worrying about the possibility that if we're in an accident the air bags may injure or even kill my family. As long as it's been seems like parts would be available. I would rather have my airbags turned off but the dealer says they can't. I would rather do without the airbags rather than take a chance that they could do more harm than good. Looks like i need to get rid of the truck and purchase a truck that i can carry my family in.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact took the vehicle to autonation chrysler dodge jeep southwest (7980 w tufts ave, littleton, co 80123) to be repaired per an unknown recall regarding the air bags. The contact examined the vehicle and believed that the air bags were not replaced. The vin was researched on safercar.gov, but no open recalls were found.the manufacturer had not been contacted. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 181,086.

I had the takata airbag recall completed at the local dodge dealership (auto nation, chrysler, dodge, jeep, ram southwest, 7980 w. Tufts ave., littleton, co 80123), and i can tell that my airbags were not replaced. They appear to have been wiped down, as there is dirt in patterns of the texture and cracks. A new airbag would not be dirty. It is my understanding that the airbags should have been replaced, as the paperwork that i received after picking up my truck from the service department at the dodge dealership says that the airbags were replaced. I will include photos with this report.the airbag recalls were performed on 05/25/2018, and todays date is 05/31/2018. The dirt accumulated in the creases of the airbags, and within the texture of the airbags, is not indicative of six to seven days worth of dust accumulation. Upon first glance when picking up the truck the airbags looked clean; however, after close inspection, today, it is evident that they were not replaced. The invoice from the dodge dealership indicates 1 part issued for the driver airbag and 1 part issued for the passenger airbag, indicating that they should have been replaced. Please note that a third recall was addressed, which was the replacement of the steering linkage, which is clearly a new part on my truck. The issue with the vehicle occurred at the dealership service department, when parts were to be replaced per a safety recall, but were not replaced.

In early july 2015, i contacted my local dodge dealer (patterson dodge) via phone to make the recall repairs to my 2008 dodge ram 2500.at the time of the phone call, the dealer indicated that my request for recall service would be put on a list to be scheduled at a later date.since this initial phone call, i have contacted the dealer and manufacturer multiple times with no confirmation on when the recall repairs could be completed.as of september 9, 2015, the dealer confirmed that i was indeed on a list of vehicles needing repair, but no timeline for the service could be established because of unavailability of parts from the manufacturer.please advise me on how to get these recall repair performed.

On my ram 2500 i was notified by chrysler that my truck has recall 15v-313 for the air bags. States there is no fix as of now.but says in extreme heat the airbag can rupture and send metal shrapnel flying injuring the driver. I was wondering if this would make my truck eligible for the chrysler buyback program? as i do believe this is a serious safety concern.

I was parked in a field and both driver side and passenger side air bag deployed.the pickup engine was running, the vehicle not moving at the time of deployment.i am the primary driver of this pickup and it has not been involved in any type of accidents.

My 2008 dodge ram 2500 was involved in a head on collision in which neither the driver nor the passenger side airbag deployed. Speed of impact was aprox. 50-55 mph.

Brake light and turn signals do not work even after replacing bulbs, bulb sockets and multifunction turn signal switch

Tipm (total integrated power module) failed while driving vehicle. Vehicle lost engine power, power steering, and brakes. -ton trucks are very heavy and are near impossible to turn and control without power steering and do not stop without power brakes. I was able to maneuver vehicle to the side of the road with minimal damage to the body. I was lucky to not cause a bigger accident and lucky not to injure myself or anybody else. This tipm failure is very common with dodge vehicles and i am disgusted how chrysler-dodge has conducted themselves in regard to recalls and warranty. Had i been towing a trailer on the highway i would have certainly caused an accident. I fear this tipm failure will result in loss of life if it hasn't so already.

The brake lights come on themselves when the truck is completely off. It's intermittent however it does it frequently enough to drain the battery.the engine light comes on as well however it does not provide a code to determine the cause of the issue.

Turn signals had been operating erratically for about 10k miles.misty day, turned wiperswitch on to intermittent, nothing.moved switch to continuous, nothing.pushed washer button, nothing.had 'smart switch' changed.wipers and washers worked immediately after delivery.less than 1 week and less than 1,000 miles later, no wipers.original and replacement switches were oe parts.can live without the turn signals.dangerous to operate in anything but sunny days without wipers and washers.

Electrical fire in dash. My husband was driving and smelt something burning. As he went to pull over flames started shooting out the vents. Truck is a total loss per insurance.

Both axle joints bad.all four tie rods have "play" in them. Ball joints are worn out.had right side tie rod end pop out while traveling down highway.2015rotors are heat cracked. Presentlyheadlights are burning out after one month replacement.presentlycontrol panel led lights for heating are out. 2009

Death wobbles: i have replaced upper and lower ball joints with problem solvers. Replaced the tie rods and ends. Replaced the stabilizer shock, replaced the track bar rubber bushings, replaced the otter universal joints on the aam 9.50 14 bolt electric hubs.new shocks all around. Drove to salt lake city and the death wobbles came back have to pull off the hwy and come to a stop while it is shaking the truck apart. 15 times from idaho..this is a major safety problem the steering box has problems and it is not listed under any recalls.new alignment also. New transmission, at 163,000 boiled over onto the turbo, the dipstick never fit in the tube and fluid caused the truck to catch fire. 3 years ago.

The 08 dodge ram was driving down the road when the fuse box under the hood caught fire causing the dodge to loose all power. The vehicle was able to make it safelty to the side of the road thank goodness and get all its passengers out. The windows would not roll up nor would the engine start afterwards. This is the third time this has happened,. Both other two times it happened while driving and we paid $1000 to replace the fuse box. It happens once every year. Highway and interstate. My husband took the fuse box apart and you can see where it caught fire. I found the following link of others reporting the problem to the news which may be our problem. I was driving down the highway and about 10pm it was raining had wipers on in medium speed wipers kept stopping. Had a lot of cars passing by me oncoming lane and they would flash their lights to me to indicate my light was off but the switch is turn on in low beam position. Had some friends following me that day as well and they told me that my brake light was not working nor my lights.. The following wednesday which would be july 25 2012 i took my truck to the dealership i bought from ,but all the lights work except for the cargo light and the low windshield wiper warning kept coming on.. The truck has been in there for a week now and on wednesday august 1 2012 i called the dealership to see what is wrong with my truck and the said the tipm has been fried and all the headlights, brake lights, turn signals and wipers does not work any more they have to replace the tipm. I only had the truck for one week and this went out already. It's not good dodge or chrysler should come up with something else so all the safety things don't fail all at once.

The air conditioner/heater blower in my truck has been working intermittently, but getting worse to the point that it rarely works now.i took it to a shop a few weeks ago, but the system happened to work that day and they could not find any issues.however, i did some research on the internet and there are many other owners having this problem.the cause is a faulty ignition switch/wiring harness connector which actually melts from the heat caused by improper wire gauge/design.this information can be readily found on dodge truck forums by doing a google search.there was a previous recall for this issue on earlier model years (safety recall #875 according to one site) but none that i could find for my model year.this is a safety issue as visibility could be reduced by frost or fogging of the windshield since the windshield defroster will not work.moreover, failure of the vehicle's heater could be a safety issue in very cold weather--especially in remote locations.it may also be possible for the overheated/melted connectors/components to cause a fire or to manifest other failures associated with the ignition switch (uncommanded engine cutoff, etc.).thank you in advance for investigating this issue.

I purchased a new dodge ram 2500 pick-up in march 2008. Within 5 weeks, vehicle started operating poorly. Check engine light would come on, truck would lose power, heavy black smoke from exhaust. Truck was brought back to dealership eight times in first six months. Dodge stated they could find no problems with vehicle. Problems continues and escalated.truck continues to operate erratically. It has come to the point the vehicle loses all power and just shuts down while driving on the highway. This has occurred six times between november 2009 and december 2010.this is a serious safety issue!the truck has lost power and stopped on the iha and i narrowly missed being hit by tractor trailers. Dodge still refused to take this vehicle back or even acknowledge there is a serioussafety problem!! need your help to get dodge to do something to investigate and correct problem before someone is hurt or killed.updated ivoq 12/06/11

When i turn on the left blinker, the right one flashes on my truck. Then i turn on right blinker and the left blinker flashes. Also the wipers will sometimes stop or slow down when i have my blinkers on. This is gonna cause an accident. Thank you

The hvac blend doors where they interface with the actuator motor are broken. The plastic was too thin for the strength of the motor and sheared off. My windshield frosted up very quickly with the humidity in the cabin.

Wipers stopped working while driving down the highway in a snow storm.

Purchased our truck in june of 2010 from a local dodge dealer. The truck only had 23k and seemed to run okay besides getting crap gas mileage. In late october 2011 the check engine light came on but when we started it up the next morning the light was no longer illuminated.the light stayed off for about two weeks but then the vehicle started running poorly. It would randomly lose power when beginning to accelerate and make a sound almost like a backfire. The first couple of times it began to pick up speed after the initial hesitation but shortly after that the check engine light came on again and it wouldn't go above 10mph. We pulled off to the side of the road and turn it off. When the truck was restarted the light went off and it ran normally again. The truck was taken to the dealership the following day and we were told that even though our truck had less than 40k miles on it, the warranty had expired two weeks previously and they would not cover the cost to diagnose or repair it!!! we did not have the $ to do anything right then so out of desperation i began researching what could possibly be causing the issues with hopes of finding an inexpensive fix that we might be able to do on our own. This is when i learned that chrysler had issued two recalls, g30 - replace the oxygen sensor module & j35 - reprogram/update the ecm. Neither of these were mentioned to us at the dealership when we brought the vehicle nor when we brought it in with these issues and were turned away. I did find out that the re-programming and update had been completed on the truck 5/24/2010. However, i have also since read about many owners continuing to have the same issues after the required "fix" had been completed just as we have. We're left with a truck that's a hazard to drive and pray that it doesn't cut out in front of oncoming traffic while trying to get out onto a road or even worse.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, a strong burning odor of coolant emitted inside the vehicle. The temperature gauge increased rapidly as the engine overheated. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road where coolant was dispensed into the reservoir. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic where the head gasket was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 166,577.updated 02/10/16*lj

While on vacation in wv, i began having steering issue where the truck would drift left and there became an overabundance of play in the steering wheel. Since then it has become difficult to drive. I repeatedly took the truck to my local dealer and called but there was no recall on my truck. There are recalls on ram 1500 megacabs and ram 2500;s but not on a ram 2500 megacab???? i have had my suspension replaced, my steering looked at six time at a local shop and it is still not driving as it should. My engine compartment liner is also burned where a metal hose has come in contact with it and melted through it. This is plain to see when the hood is up and yet my truck is not part of any recall for this either. Since my truck is not listed on any of the recalls, am i eligible for the buyback?

I was driving on i405 in washington state traveling southbound when i noticed smoke coming from my engine compartment...i pulled over popped the hood and took a quick look.. I noticed flames on the lower portion of the motor almost behind the firewall...called 911...

My husband and i bought a new 2008 dodge ram 2500 diesel a year ago.within the first 500 miles the check engine light came on.we called the dealer and were told this was normal and not to worry, just drive the truck, stop, turn it off, restart and drive it, until the light goes off.the light turned off the next time we started the truck, so we figured it was ok, maybe we were overreacting.well a month later it happens again, we called the dealership and were told the same thing, don't worry, just start it, drive, turn it off, and turn it back on. We took the truck in the third time this happened, they told us it was no big deal, that this was "a normal problem" and the emissions sensor just needed a cleaning, which they did.we were told when we picked it up that everything was fine, but two weeks later it happened again, we took itback to the shop and they cleaned the sensor again.right after we got the truck back, we had absolutely no power, it struggled to get up a small hill, we took it back to the shop, and they held it for four days.when we got it back they told us there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but the next time this happened bring it right back and they would replace the turbo and the emissions sensor again.we have only owned this truck for a year, and i have called dodge with my complaint but was told to email the complain, and when i emailed it, i was told to call, which to me seems like a run around.we were told by the mechanic at the dealer this was a ongoing issue but there was nothing he could do about it, except for continuing to clean the sensors or replacing the turbo, which will still not stop the problem.

Dodge diesel turbo sooting up.can not even drive the truck without the turbo sooting up.goes back to the dealer every week or two.

I took my 2008 dodge 2500 into the dealer after experiencing a "pop" sensation in the front end at low speed (5-10mph). The dealer stated that both tie rod ends where worn out as well as both upper and lower ball joints. I spoke with the manager as the truck is out of warranty and he stated this was normal wear and tear. I then contacted the chrysler help line. Initially they gave the impression that they may be able to assist me with this problem. However in a return phone call, they stated they could not do anything because of the mileage. Of course i asked them how was it possible for the whole front end to be shot at 70,000 miles when it was suppose to have a heavy duty suspension as it is a diesel and the truck has never hauled any kind of weight or been off road. The other point i made with them was they know they have a problem because in order to replace the tie rod ends, you have to replace the whole assembly from the tie rod ends all the way to the pittman arm because it was redesigned. Go figure! additionally i have had the turbo charger replaced twice because the dealer said the unit was bad. My main concern now is the steering as it is going to cost me $2500.00 to correct and i do not have that laying around.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500 diesel. The contact stated that the check engine lamp illuminated. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors were defective and needed to be replaced. The remedy failed to repaired the problem. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the turbo and egr temp tube needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 2,951 and the current mileage was 45,000.

Vehicle has experienced sudden loss of power numerous times. Creates a hazardous safety situation when it's impossible to accelerate into/with traffic.five attempts to repair this problem have been made since march, 2009.

On my 2008 dodge ram 2500 diesel pickup truck sometimes when you accelerate, there is little to no response except black smoke billowing from the exhaust. You have to press the accelerator completely to the floor to get any response, and then it will only do maybe 5-10 mph. Maximum. This happens at random times, and there seems to be no way to predict when it will happen. It happens from a stopped position, as well as accelerating to pass a vehicle at highway speeds. In the case of highway (passing a vehicle) speed, the engine will lose power, but will not completely quit. In either case, you must pull over, turn off the vehicle, and restart it for it to perform normally. This problem first began in late july, 2009. I took the truck to the dealer for repairs on august 14th. 2009. According to the work order (invoice), they replaced a particulate filter, and did a turbo test. The check engine light came back on about 3.5 miles after i left the dealer, and the truck was billowing heavy black smoke.when i took it back to the dealer for the same repair, i was told they were going to do the same thing. A new filter, and a turbo test. They did not have a filter in stock, so they did not make any repairs, and they told me they did not expect this to repair the problem anyway, as it had no affect the last time they did it. The latest incident occurred on october 8, 2009.

When this diesel truck cleans it"s particulate filter i get a strong fuel smell odor in the cab when stopped at a stop light or stop sign. This cleaning of the d.p.r. Filter happens every 100 or so miles driven and last for about 20 miles. When the odor occurs my eyes burn, and i cough alot. So far the dodge dealers are unable to fix my problem. I have taken the pick up truck to two different dealers trying to get relief from this problem.

I took delivery of my dodge 2500 mega cab pickup with the cummins 6.7 diesel motor.almost since the first day,i have had the truck back to the service department at the dealer for a failing emissionsystem.the dpf and regeneration system is constantly clogging and rendering my vehicle undrivable.when this occurs, i return to the dealer, have the part cleaned, or replaced, and i am told that it will occur again.according to my dealers service manager, and dodge, there is no known fix for this problem.upon speaking to dodge customer service regarding a buyback of my vehicle, i have been hung up on, put on hold for hours, told my dealer has to buy it back, or told to hire a lawyer.when researching this matter, i have found that i am not alone with these types of problems with the new 6.7 dodge trucks.i need to know what recourse i have in this matter with dodge, or my dealer directly.

Multiple times every month obnoxious smell of burning chemicals in cab when dog filter on diesel goes through regen. Chrysler replaced turbo that was sooted shut. Then they wrapped exhaust. Still does it. Makes you sick.

This is the second time this problem happened in 7 months. I was sitting at a light and started to accelerate, the exhaust brake engaged and prevented me from moving forward. I was able to move by slightly depressing the accelerator a little at a time. When i approached my next traffic light, the engine rpm dropped to 500 and then shot up to 1200 rpms. When this happened the truck lurched forward and almost hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk. It also put me half way into a busy intersection. There were multiple close calls that could have caused injury or death. The truck is currently at the dealer again but i am very concerned about this issue. It seems i am not the only person this has happened to.

Epa driven dpf filter on cummins diesel 2008 2500 truck is always causing problems with check engine light.dealers have had to put a port on turbo, clean exhaust, wrap exhaust, and claim that customers are idling too much.pollution control devices are obviously bad design.they burn extra diesel in exhaust to burn soot and make mileage go down by 10mpg.2006 to 2008 change lost significant mpg.the 6.7l engine needs addressing with final fixes that won't continue to make customers go to dealer over and over again for repairs.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500 diesel. The contact stated that he would smell exhaust entering the cab of the vehicle. The odor was so overpowering that it caused irritation to the eyes and illness.the contact stated that the failure was most prominent when the heater was activated and was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 16,500 and the current mileage was 31,000.

Went to take off from a stoplight and when i accelerated to 1500 rpm the exhaust brake engaged and prevented me from increasing speed. I had to let off the accelerator and gently accelerate in order to get the truck moving. Once going, anytime i tried to increase speed, the exhaust brake would engage and slow down the vehicle. I had to pull off the road, shut off the vehicle, and then restart. This seemed to take care of the problem.. It only happened once but it was at a busy intersection.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500.the contact stated that when he activated the right turn signal the left signal would illuminate, and when he activated the left turn signal, the right signal would activate.the dealer made two attempts to duplicate the failure by replacing the multi function switch however, the failure recurred.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the current mileage was 75,000.the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

The vehicle is stationary at a gas station.tank is low and while filling it up the hose nozzle clicks off and gas spews from around nozzle with much force.i have tried this at several stations with the same result.i found a warranty extension through chrysler the number is x49 extended warranty- fuel tank inlet check valve 2007 - 2008 ram 1500, but they say it does not apply to my vehicle as vin is not covered.i have seen several descriptions and complaints from public about gas spilling on vehicles and onto customers so it is a known problem.this is happening exactly as explained in x49 bulletin!my vehicle is extensively the same as other ram trucks and has this problem also.why won't they extend warranty to cover my truck?this has caused a reaction from the spilled fuel on my hands.this happens so unexpectedly you don't have time toback away and fuel comes up the nozzle onto your hands and clothes like an eruption.at this point i only have 1/4 in the tank and it won't accept anymore fuel without spewing it out!the manufacturer wants me to have it diagnosed and repaired at my expense and they may reimburse me if they get around to adding my truck to the extended warranty!this is my work truck and i can't drive it because of the problem.help

I stopped at a gas station and was filling my veh. With gas and it began to vigorously spray out of the filler neck where the gas cap fits and the station's filler nozzle, all over my skin, cloths, the side of the veh. And the ground.this was a gusher of gas spraying out with force and would not let me fill the veh.!this has happened on several of the dodge ram trucks and is covered on all models except mine. The dealer tells me it is recall# x49 on other trucks all around my vin # and age but not mine.this a big fire issue and if other trucks do it and get fixed why is mine less likely to catch firethis has happened to me several times and i have had to fill it from a can with a funnel to be able to drive.this negates any evaporative emission controls i have.please help me!

The contact owns a 2008 dodge 2500 hd. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph over a bump in the road, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was awaiting a call back from them. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the latch release for the emergency brake would detach and separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on numerous occasions where it was repaired, but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was 46,000.

Steering recall- vehicle initiates into the death shake when speed exceeds 55mph on a turn.transmission problems- vehicle has problems shifting normally by shifting straight into 4th gear when shifting into drive and will drive sluggishly

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 75 mph, a loud abnormal sound emitted from the vehicle as it decelerated. The contact had to merge over to the side of the road. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the uv joint locked and the transfer case fractured without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for further inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was also included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v528000 (steering). The dealer was unable to confirm when the part would become available to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 177,000.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that the transfer case on the vehicle exploded while they were traveling 70 mph. The contact was able to pull over without incident. The contact spoke with the dealer and was not given a reason for the failure. The failure mileage and current mileages were 103,000.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that the rear end pinion nut failed and there was an unknown substance leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 215,990.

I entered the highway in my dodge ram 2500 2008 truck, while i was at50 mph my truck started making growling noises from the engine and i heard explosive noises from the bottom of the truck.my speed dropped to 25 mph and i could see from my side mirror car parts exploding off the truck on the highway in front of other vehicles while i was in motion and driving.thisa highway at speeds of 70 mph so i had to move over to the service lane luckily i was in the right lane but i barely avoid a large petroleum truck from crushing my truck which would have been a homicide because he was blowing his horn and could not stop in time.the car dealer claims they are investigating its has now been 4 days and i have not heard anything yet called chrysler manufacturer waiting to hear back about what caused this to happen to my truck.i only know some of the parts damaged on the truck

When the truck is started and put into gear, the truck will roll about 10 feet and then take off. The driver has to stand on the brakes to get it to stop. The problem is intermittent and tends to occur after it sets for more than 8 hours. It only happens during the first 3 -5 minutes after startup. If driver is unaware of problem it could easily lead to damage to others as it requires a great deal of force to get the truck to stop.

The heater works on occasion from nov 13 till i replaced it in may 2015, now its august 2015 and the heater has completely stopped working.i live in alaska and a heater is a huge deal.also during an oil change noticed the tie rod is all gooped with oil.have an 09 1500 that the tie rod broke on. Curious if my 08 is gonna have the same issue.the rear differential is leaking oil all of a sudden as of june 2015 after hauling my 24 foot trailer 1200 miles.when i put the truck in 4 low and drive it makes a huge clucking sound doesn't turn very well either.it feels like my steering is about to go out.i can't drive up my driveway without digging wholes in the gravel.i bought the truck used november 2013 and feel like i got a lemon.

Transmission burned up and caused the truck to catch fire due to improper dipstick fit. Fluid spewed onto the turbo and started fire.burnt stuff up pretty bad.

Heading to town to take 2008 dodge ram to thedealership to have looked at for stalling at idle and no foot pedal response. Shut truck off and restarted now i have throttle..anyways headedto dealership to have these thing looked at.im on the interstate cruise control set at 70mph.i go over a slight dip on the interstate than experience what feels like two blown front tires.the entire truck is shaking violently.its all i can do to hold onto the steering wheel. The truck feels like its going to fall apart.i get on the brakes start pulling to the side of the road at about 10miles an hour this violent vibration stops.this incident was the scariest incident i've been through.i inspected the truck nothing visible wrong so i continued on to dealership with no problems..15 minutes later i stopped shaking.told service man at dealership what just happened and he says oh you just experienced the death wobble..are you serious they have a nickname for this and are still selling these vehicles at 40,000 a piece.i refused to sign the work agreement and left the truck there. I will not pay to have this truck fixed.this vehicle is a serious danger to the driver, passengers and any other vehicles on the road. After research i found many other incidents of what i have described.go to youtube and type dodge death wobble.vehicle manufactures should be responsible for there product. Concerned and productive united states citizen..

Vehicle has a vibration starting at 50 mph that appears to be due to a drive component.diagnosed and replaced the drive shaft rear u-joint.some play also found in the left front u-joint (4wd) that was replaced 8 months ago.this is the third time in 4 years that u-joints had to be replaced on this vehicle.

2008 dodge ram 2500 6.7l 6spd...driving home from work and starting hearing a clunking sound. Made appointment to drop off at dealer.dealer said the spare tire was loose and reinstalled.picked truck up drove home started to clunk again.check the truck out myself and found transfer case bolts broken off.i was not going to waste fuel to take it back, installed bolts myself.at about 22,000 miles clunking again, found bolts broken again.made appointment dropped off to have repaired.truck now has 88,500 on it and i've replaced the bolts about 7 times now.seems like every 10,000 to 15,000 miles they break.will be replacing bolts again.it feels like the rear end is sliding out when you make a turn when the bolts are broken.

I was driving past my house, i put the drive train in 4 wheel drive and when i stepped on the gas pedal the throttle went wide open. I tried to steer clear of all obstructions but when i hit my driveway the truck went sideways and it rolled down a culvert and ended upside down. The truck has been declared a "total loss". I sustained minor cuts and bruises but came out ok. I downloaded the obd2data from the computer after the accident and it showed code p0731 g pend gear 1 incorrect ratio???. I have not been able to find any history of this problem in the 2008 ram data.

My 2008, 2500 dodge truck 4x4 diesel has a bad jerking problem when you let off the fuel and then put it on again. The dealers have changed turbo, wire harnesses, all sensors, egr......... This has been going on since 7000 miles on truck. I have now 47,000. Everyone including the dealer has said all 2008's do this and it is the factory's problem.

Started with a rattle coming from the front end.rattles whenever you drive it..i can't say what the outcome would have been had i let the u-joint fail.dealer replaced the universal joint, front axle shaft. Don't know what became of old part.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500.while driving 35 mph, the driver's side u-joint axle failed, which jammed the steering wheel to the right.the contact crashed the vehicle into a telephone pole.he was not injured and a police report was filed.the vehicle was towed to a repair shop.the dealer advised him to call the dodge manufacturer and his insurance company.the manufacturer sent an investigator to inspect the vehicle.the contact then received a letter stating that the failure occurred after he struck the telephone pole; however, he stated that the axle failed prior to the crash.the vehicle is currently being repaired.the failure mileage was 26,177.the consumer believed the u-joints failed due to lack of grease. When the u-joint broke, the axles binded with each other and the axle jammed the spindle makingit difficult to steer the vehicle back to the center. .the consumer complained of a noise days prior to the accident, but was told nothing was wrong. Updated 04/22/09.updated 05/04/09 the consumer stated he heard a banging noise in the left front of the vehicle. Right after the noise, the steering went to the right and he jumped the curb. After the accident, the consumer noticed 2 parts from his vehicle were on the street. The parts were 2 ears off the left front axle u-joint. One was male and the other was a female and they were stuck together. Updated 05/04/09.

On a 2008, 2500 ram diesel with a manual transmission, failed to engage in gear while towing. First time (june 2008) the transmission failed the vehicle had approx. 10,000 miles and would not shift to lower gears. I took it to dealer who said nothing was wrong. Truck is now at dealer with over 17000 miles and they say it now needs a new clutch. Yesterday while towing vehicle failed to downshift and every stop the truck had to be shut down to engage transmission. The vehicle also launches forward while the clutch is depressed after i get it in gear. I have less then 18000 miles on the truck and 15000 miles are highway miles a clutch should not fail without having something else wrong. I was with a friend of mine, who is a diesel tech. When the transmission failed to engage, he said he believed it was the hydraulic system failing to engage the clutch. Yesterday while making a left turn, in the middle of a intersection i had to shut the vehicle off and engage the transmission.i was lucky no cars were behind me and the light had changed to green for the cross traffic who had to wait until i turned the truck off to engage the gears and restart the truck.

The seat beat buckle will hang up and you can not unbuckle the safety restraint.

The bracket that hold the break line to the rear end (axle) had rubbed the metal break line until it wore through the line and then split causingbrake fluid to leak out (fast). I noticed my break peddle start going to the floor, i was driving on the highway when i pushed the break peddle to slow down because there was a speed zone ahead, the break peddle went to the floor. That's when the e break warning light came on notifying me that my break fluid was low or empty. I have a manual transmission so i was able to shift down to slow down, even though i was still trying to use my brakes the peddle would to the floor, stopping was 90% gone, i had to use my e brake to come to a complete stop.. When i stop the vehicle that's when i looked underneath the truck and noticed a large puddle of break fluid, i could also see a stream of fluid where i pulled in at. So it was spraying out when i was using the breaks to slow down and stop. When i got home i looked where truck is always parked there no fluid had been leaked there. Between my home and the 36 miles to town it had the bracket had rubbed through and split the break line. My mechanic stated that the bracket had been rubbing the brake line for a while to split open like that. I had to replace the metal brake line that went to the rear passenger brake. Now i'm worried that this might happened to my other brake lines. It never states that i'm to check for wearing on metal lines. Nothing after market has been done to this vehicle it's 100% stock as it was when bought from the dealership. To me this a serious problem that could have lead to an accident which could kill or hurt a person/people. This is a factory default and needs to be addressed immediately! a simple rubber protect piece needs to be place on the bracket and/or line to protect this from happening again!!

Passenger side seat belt locks and continues to tighten under normal driving conditions. Passenger must release seat belt and return to "home" position before applying seat belt. Any time you have to remove the seat belt while moving, you are at an increased risk for injury/death. I have been to the dealership and have had this part replaced twice.i have a total of 9 hours wait time trying to remedy this problem at the dealership.

At about 4500 miles notice that my right leg was rubbing the frame of the seat has time went on it got worse. The framing and springs have lost all support and have caused bruising on my leg if i drive for an extended period of time i can not drive without being in pain. The dealer has replaced the foam but the problem is in the seat framing. It lacks support.

Three weeks ago truck was taken to crown chrysler dodge in cleveland tn for brake and rotor replacement on all four wheels. After repairs made, drunk driven off lot and noted to have a loud squeak every time brake pedal pressed. Dealer notified and told us to keep driving for a week and pads and rotor should mesh together and squeak will go away. This did not happen, truck taken back to dealer, dealer erin specter and stated could find nothing wrong except groove in rotor caused by possibly a pebble. Due to not feeling truth being told by this dealer, truck taken to dodge dealer in athens and had breaks inspected. To our disbelief, we were told brake pads were flaking and chipping. We contacted dodge dealer in cleveland tnfor a refund for faulty product but have yet to receive satisfactory resolution. Dodge coorporate contacted and complaint filed. Cleveland dealerstates we have them permission to use third party brake pads, which is not true and they have yet to produce any proof that this is true. I took my dodge to dealer for mopar parts and got third party defective parts.pictures of three week old pads included.

I was traveling overrailroad tracks on the 18 april 2015, saturday when the rh steering drag link failed at the ball joint. The failure occur to the grease-able ball joint that connects to the lower a-frame of the rh passenger wheel. If i was traveling any faster than 30 miles an hour when this occurred. I would have lost total control and had an accident with the possibility of injuries occurring. I was able to slow the vehicle down with light touches of the brake pedal and turn to the shoulder of the road and safely stop the truck. The rh front tire was pointed to the left and slightly tuck under the wheel well so it was sliding the passenger tire as i maneuvered off the road. The above components where replaced along with the upper and lower ball joints and the lh tie rod assembly with all new components. I did have my vehicle inspected by the dealer for the n62 nhtsa 13v-528 for the lh tie road failuresthat chrysler ordered; on the 14 of jan 2014 and the dealer said that this recall did not pertain to my vehicle.

I received recall notice n49/nhtsa13v-529 and took my vehicle to a local dodge dealership in january 2014. I was placed on a waiting list for parts to be ordered. I called the dealership in march 2014 and was told the parts were on back order. It is now june and i am being told the part is still on back order. I do not feel comfortable operating my vehicle on the freeway knowing there is a discrepancy with my steering. I also do not think a 6 month wait to repair a safety recall is timely or acceptable. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

I have received an recall notice in january 2014. I was told to wait until april to set up an appointment for servicing my vehicle. It is now the end of august. I have made repeated phone calls and i was told that i am on the list. Call back in a month. I have and now it is just a nuisance. I have called other dealerships and they have told me that customers have called in december and their vehicles are still on the list to get repaired. Why would a manufacture have a recall when they can not honor it. The letter stated, "important safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529", is a joke. This notice should not be sent out unless they can honor it!

Steering linkage fell off.did get a recall on the steering linkage, but when i took it to the dealership a year or two before this they told me i didn't have the defective parts and therefore would not replace these parts.then not 6 months later was my first incident with the steering linkage just falling off, good thing it didn't happen when i was going 50 mph i just was at a stop.obviously my truck should have been included in the recall.i have replaced the tie rod ends, but the truck still does not drive right, and it only has 60k miles on it.thanks

Steering wandering started days before then the dreaded death wobble. Started happening st 70 mph then 60 mph now i cant drive over 55 mph with out it happening.

I was driving from detroit airport east on highway 94 when my truck started to shake like hell and i thought i had two flat tires in the front. I hit the brakes and the truck become un steerable and started to turn sideways with two lanes of traffic coming at me. This was a very scary ride. I pulled over after i downshifted and the shaking stopped but there was nothing flat or loose that i could see several other drivers stopped to see what had happened. I called a local dodge dealer and was told that i most have bad brake rotors. I have changed the rotors on all 4 wheels the front wheel bearings the shocks the front stabilizer shock and new brake pads on all 4 wheels still shakes just as bad .i have had several close calls and i want a fix or i will buy a new ford truck. The bad part of this, is that i retired after 44years with chrysler.

I was i-77 in wv and hit a bridge expansion joint at approx. 70 m.p.h. The truck front suspension began to shake violently. The front tires and steering wheel began to shake/bounce uncontrollably.it did this for aprox 20 sec. While i tried to stop the truck slowly and safely.internet research revealed this is a common problem with dodge 2500 pickups. It has been given the name death wobble. I returned it to the dealer where they deny any knowledge of the problem and after inspection determined that the incident busted both front shocks and stabilizer bar. It was not covered by factory or extended warranty.i had 2 new shocks & stabilizer installed and the front end re-inspected and serviced, lined and balanced the tires as directed by dealer insp. Results. I drove less than 10 miles and the truck done the death wobble again. They now suggest the tracking bar failure but state that the whole front suspension may be damaged due to a poor design and the violent vibration that occurred during the incidents. Again the warranties are refusing coverage. The tech's refused to release the truck back to me to drive for safety reasons. They feel it is not safe to operate in this condition. This truck remains in stock condition. Installing 285/70/16 tires 10 ply tires for safety concerns. The stock tires were too small for an 8000 lbs. Pickup that tows occasionally. Due to the seriously neglected safety concern by dodge, i will be trading this truck off when i get it fixed. Dodge knows there is problems please step up and make them address this issue before someone get hurt or killed.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel became very stiff and the contact had to use extreme bodily force to turn the wheel. The vehicle was maneuvered to the shoulder and stopped. The contact examined the vehicle and noticed that the steering box was leaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the steering gear box was replaced. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The gear box was replaced approximately three times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000.

About 11 months ago i received a recall notice from chrysler for my 2008 dodge ram 2500 pick up truck, it was for a suspension problem with the tie rods, recall #n49/nhtsa 13v-529 i called my local dodge dealer where i bought the truck and they said they could not get the parts, i called several months later and they told me the replacement parts had been "recalled". I have contacted them numerous times still no parts.i have called chrysler several times and get the same run around, no parts available. This is a real safety issue as the failure of the parts could cause me to crash. I would think chrysler would be nervous as the liability issue could be very expensive. What if they fail and someone is killed, is this my fault would i be liable? this has been going on for almost a year and still not resolved.

There has not yet been an incident but we have been trying to comply with this safety recall since january 20, 2014 and our dealer does not yet have the part from chrysler to repair our truck.why??i believe the dealer to be honest in their attempt to obtain the parts and do not understand why there is not a designated operation to produce and provide these needed safety corrections.

While reversing out of a parking space and making a right hand turn the steering would not turn.it was very difficult to make the turns as the vehicle was being driven to the dealer. The dealer stated they will replace the orm steering box at the owners expense but there was a back order on the parts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who advised that they would contact him within the next twenty four hours. The failure mileage was 25,000 and the current mileage was 35,000.

Loss of steering control while driving.as a last minute thought i decided to stop at a convenience store before heading down the highway, down a hill which had a sharp u shaped turn at the bottom.when making a right hand turn into the parking lot the steering wheel became disengaged and began to spin completely around without any control. Had i continued on my way i hate to think how i would have survived what waited at the bottom of the hill. I'm not a mechanic but it seems the steering rod bolt was not installed properly and was not completely through the holes to the connection.thankfully, i had turned into a parking lot when it lost connection.i'm sure this has something to do with recalls: n62, n49, l16, h46, h36.

Steering linkage broke while driving at highway speeds, lost control and went across oncoming lane. Learned of recall after the incident. Was never contacted by dealership of purchase in regards to this specific recall.

We purchased a 2008 dodge ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 from a dealership in harrisburg on june 1, 2015. We started experiencing what is a known for these vehicles - a "death wobble." while traveling at highway speeds, you hit a bump or put too much pressure on one of the front tires, the two front tires start wobbling like a badly made shopping cart. Being intelligent consumers, we researched the issues, and notified our dealer in harrisburg. My husband drove the truck all the way down there so they could fix an open recall of a tie-rod end. When he got there, they said, "oops, someone already fixed it, we can't do anything about it." and he drove home in a rattling deathtrap. We then were notified by our next door neighbor as well as a family member that fiat-chrysler dodge announced on july 27th that they had a $105 million lawsuit for unsafe front-end steering issues for vehicles, and they were buying back a whole slough of vehicles, our truck included. We contacted the recall office, and were told that they didn't know what we were talking about. We took it to a local dodge place end of august. The steering dampener is damaged, at roughly $1075 for the part, a u-joint is seized, both upper and lower ball joints in the front end are shot, and that will be almost $3000 in parts to fix. We haven't even received our first oil change on the vehicle and now we have to fork over $3000+ on a $25,000 truck we haven't owned for four months. I just called dodge headquarters again for the umpteenth time and was told there is only 1 recall option for the buyback, and that is listed as being completed in 2014. I asked her why our truck was still trying to kill us, and she didn't have a response. She said it is not a safety concern. I asked her who was lying to us, and offered her to come and take a ride in our deathtrap if it wasn't a "safety concern," and she didn't have a response.

While backing out of a parking space i heard the left steering linkage fall onto the other linkage.i had complied with the recall h46 on sept. 10, 2009 regarding the failed part.the ball joint stud had failed requiring the pickup to be towed for the replacement of the steering linkage.

While traveling on an interstate highway the vehicle hit a bump and began to shake violently. I slowed the vehicle and the shaking subsided however steering control was minimally maintained. Subsequent bumps or increase in speed resulted in the shaking. The vehicle was stopped and inspected. At that time it was observed the right tie rod end had become completely detached from the steering knuckle. The vehicle was towed to a dodge dealer. The dealer indicated this vehicle was not part of the recall and replaced the right tie rod assembly at my expense. Further inspection showed the left tie rod end also showed excessive wear and was also subsequently replaced.

N49 recall. I have been advised by the dealer that the wait time will be approximately 45 weeks before the recall repair can be conducted. This is not a "reasonable" timeframe.

My front left tie rod in my truck broke causing extensive damage. It punctured a tire in the sidewalk which is not repairable , cracked a wheel which they do not make anymore so need to replace 4 to match and bent or broke every single componentin the steering linkage setup. I have made numerous attempts for some help and have gotten none. I have sent multiple emails with no replies, tried the chat system on the mopar site and the person (alex av1129 employee number) was of no help either. I have purchased a steering linkage setup from les schwab for $649 before i knew this was a past recall issue. I never got any notification for the recall or did i get offered the buy back option. I also called mccord dodge in longview washington explaining my issue and was told by a lavonya in the recall dept there's nothing she can do this is an issue between you and chrysler not you and mccords. I also asked lavonya my address on file and she read it exactly and i received no notification from them either. She was quite rude. She told me most people do routine maintenance at mccords and they find out these issues. I let her know i do my own maintenance and am not required to do business with them since my warranty has expired.please help thanks [xxx][xxx][xxx][xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

I have a 2008 dodge ram 2500 and have experienced problems with my steering components, as described by the ongoing death wobble situation.i have replaced the rh tie rod end myself as when i've contacted the dealers previously, they weren't sure if the rh side would be recalled.later i've received notices for the n62 recall, for the lh side tie rod end.i have called and called the dealer and they have repeatedly said that parts were not available.now the truck only has 58,5xx miles on it and the lh tie rod end is about to snap in half.the truck has a very bad noise up front and if around 50 mph, you hit a bump, it goes into a death wobble scenario.i have just replaced the front axle u-joints, another common front end problem with these trucks.i am very tired of these issues.with the news of the buyback, i have called chrysler and they have said that my truck does not qualify.i assume that is the case because my truck is unrepaired, but under 13v-528, and not 13v-529?but looking at document rcmn-13v529-4092, it states that the same parts will be used for recalls n62 and n49.so why is my truck not included?

I've got 40,000 miles on my 2008 2500 quad cab 6.7 cummins. The symptoms i noticed have been when driving down the road at highway speeds, suddenly it'll sound like i have a flat tire for about 2 seconds, then resume to normalcy. But when i slow to a stop, the truck shakes uncontrollably until you stop. It almost feels like i have a manual transmission, which i don't, and i don't downshift. I thought it was maybe a transmission problem, but i shifted to neutral and stopped, out of "drive", and it still shook uncontrollably. My truck does have the snow plow prep package on it, but i do not run a snow plow, and after researching the possibility of that last winter, i would never put a plow on a quad/diesel; or for that matter, any ram.

2008 dodge ram 2500 mega cab 4x4. I had steering vibration and sticking steering at slow speeds since i drove it off the lot. I had shocks, all steering linkage, stabilizer, bushings, hydroboost unit and pitman arm replaced, due to slow speed sticking and "death wobble. " my warranty expired at 39,000 miles, so i replaced shocks and stabilizer with bilsteins at my own expense. Vibration and sticking wheel (power steering failure) still occurs. Severe death wobble at 60+ mph. Nhtsa needs to get involved. This is a major safety hazard and has nearly caused me to crash into other lanes of traffic. Dodge cannot fix and refuses to accept any responsibility after your warranty expires. I have tried several times to work with chrysler and they don't have the answers or want you to pay for diagnosis they cannot solve. Please help......

At freeway speeds of 50-70 mph, when the truck hits imperfections in the road, including botz dots and potholes, the front end of the truck enters into a violent shake, which is completely uncontrollable, and requires bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.this occurs approximately 2-3 times per month.i've replaced the steering box, steering dampener, tie rods and tie rod ends, tires, shocks, and drag link, and none of these have corrected the problem.i also added a steering gear brace, and this didn't help either.

Received a safety recall notice from chrysler in early january 2014 for left tie rod replacement on 2008 dodge 2500 pickup truck.i have attempted to schedule repairs to replace left tie rod ball stud on numerous locations with local chrysler/dodge dealer and have been told they have not been getting parts from manufacturer. First review and attempt to schedule was on january 14th. Placed on wait list. Have followed up in both late february and late march to schedule, and still told no parts available to repair under recall notice. Dealer informed me they will contact when they can schedule. Today is may 27th, 2014- no call back to schedule yet.

Received notice approximately 6 months ago, same story as the other complaints i've seen for this same issue. Dealer states that they don't have parts... Not enjoying driving my family around thinking about the possibility of having an accident for the entire duration that we've known about this. Hard to fathom why they even bothered to send out notice with no ability to follow through and remedy the defect.

While driving at highway speeds, if the vehicle hits any pot hole, road change, or turning slightly left, the front end will start to uncontrollably shake.it becomes very violent and hard to control until i slow down to under 60 mph.i have had multiple dealers look at the issue and tell me they have seen this issue before but there is nothing they can do for me as no front end parts are worn out.they then state that they have an "upgrade" front end kit i can purchase for $2,500 that will maybe fix it.i ask them if it is a known issue then why doesn't chrysler recall the front ends and fix the issue, they reply that chrysler does not claim there is any issue present.i have checked all over the internet and this issue seems to affect hundreds of thousands of people as manufactures make after-market "death-wobble" fix kits.it is very frustrating to have to possibly pay out of pocket for a fix that might not work.this truck has been nothing but issues for me.

While driving this truck at approximately 60 miles an hour i hit a expansion joint as i was on a slight left turn cause the vehicle to shake violently almost losing control until i slowed down to below 30 miles an hourthen the suspension stabilized. This has occurred on many occasions since the first incident and i have learned to anticipate when this may occur and expect it. I have taken vehicle to have suspension check and they have found no problems. It was recommended that i put a dual shock absorbing steering stabilizer on this vehicle. This was done and did not correct the problems.

Death wobble when making a turn or hitting a bump in the road. Must slow down considerably in order for this to stop. Dangerous on the highway or going over 30 mph. All recalls have been completed on this vehicle and we still have the problem

My truck shakes violently when i hit imperfections in the road. It happens 3 or more times a week. I have to stop my truck to get the shaking to cease. I have had it to the dealer more than once for the problem. They could not "replicate the problem" the first two times. The third time i drove and the service man rode with me. They determined it was the tires that were causing the problem. They said tires were not covered in the warranty. I bought new tires and that did not fix the problem.took the truck back to them, they said dodge told them" that there was no known fix for this problem." and for them to "just put a new steering damper on to see what that does."that only put a bandaid on the problem.now the "death wobble" is back, and im past my warranty.just like they wanted to begin with. I got the truckon 7/4/08, the first occurrence was 11/18/08 when the truck had only 11,000 miles on it.

Truck shakes/ wobbles and sometimes loose steering controlwhen i go over sudden uneven road conditions.

While driving 60mph the front end of the vehicle suddenly shook excessively and became difficult to control. Upon stopping the car i found the drag link for right side had split and detached from ball joint. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer and i was informed that the entire steering assembly needed to be replaced. Dodge has a known problem with this and no longer makes or supplies this failed part. This repair and replacement is at my cost and not covered under any recall or warranty. I was instructed the recall had been performed in april of 2011 and no action was needed at that time.

At highway speeds can hit small bump and the truck starts shaking violently.almost lost control of the truck.

I bought my truck brand new in 2008 ..it has what they call a death wobble , it only does it at speeds 50 or higher .. Many dodge truck owners also experience the same trouble.. It occurs at higher speeds when you hit a small bump , or rough patch ..the front end of the truck will come unglued , and start shaking very violently ..it first did it in 2011 , and it still does it .. I contacted the dodge corporation about it , but they refuse to do anything about it ..

I am the original owner of a 2008 dodge ram 2500 regular cab pickup and the vehicle has only been serviced at certified dodge dealerships.the vehicle currently has 44900 miles.i have brought the vehicle in 3 times to have the front left tie rod replaced under the n62 tie rod recall with no resolution. The tie rod is failing confirmed by the dealer and myself, the vehicle is unsafe to drive, and the dealer and chrysler refuse to replace the faulty component as they are saying the recall does not affect my vehicle.due to chrysler and the selling dealer not keeping appropriate records of the repairs done on the vehicle they have inaccurate recall information and are refusing to resolve the problem, as they are stating the vehicle has original oem equipment which is false. At 26953 miles i brought the vehicle into the original selling dealer victory chrysler in rome, ny on march 22, 2011 due to drivability concerns, wandering, and loose front end components prior to the date the n62 recall issued.noted on the repair invoice from the selling dealer "replaced the tie rod end - replace to pitman arm (b) parts numbers 68036940, arm part number 68039930aa, and arm steering gear/pitman part number 19651001.ber 68039930aa, and arm steering gear/pitman part number 19651001. Approximately 1 year later i received the n62 recall indicating that trucks that had steering linkage replaced with mopar service parts and have been trying to have the vehicles faulty replacement part repaired.i contacted victory the selling dealer and was advised no parts were available and it would be at least 3 weeks before the vehicle could be serviced.i was able to get an appointment at a another ram dealer carbone dodge in yorkville, ny.it was confirmed by the dealer the tie rod needs replacement but no repair was completed due to the records being inaccurate from chrysler.

I was going 65 miles per hour on the freeway when my truck violently shake back and forth so hard i had to come to a complete stop to get it to stop. I've had the front suspension replaced 3 times in the past year and still have what they call a death wobble. I have spent so much money on rentals and on shop repairs trying to repair this problem and still cannot go over 40 miles an hour without it violently shaking. This is dangerous to my family it could kill somebody and i think dodge should be responsible for taking action on repairing this or figure out the problem . I have called dodge and they have told me it is not a recall so they cannot help me out. I had bought brand new tires a brand new drive line along with replacing the front suspension 3 times now and i still cannot drive my truck without it causing violent shaking. It has 87,000 miles on it has never been in an accident so i cannot figure out why this started happening but i think that it shouldnot be okay to have this truck on the road it's going to hurt somebody.i have only driven a couple of times and spent alot on rentals .i will never in my life buy another dodge due to lack of concern for my family's saftey.i own this vehicle outright and wish i would have never bought it.thats how scary it is to drive.

Safety recall h36 involves steering linkage."this could result in a loss of steering control and cause a crash without warning." chrysler is only allocating one recall kit per week to my dealer, who has a list of over 300 affected customers.at this rate, chrysler is willing forego safety for 5.75 years!deplorable.i called chrysler, who said they needed the part and order number of my dealer.i contacted my service department on the other line, who explained that it is impossible for them to order the part for a campaign allotment.i've been calling on this since april.

At higher speeds the front end starts to shake violently (death wobble) to the point of loosing control, you have to come to a complete stop to get it to stop which can be a problem when driving on the freeway i've took it to the dealer and they said it was the ball joints so i had them replaced it didn't help i also replaced the shocks and steering dampener all this at my own expense. I've had the truck in twice for recalls on the tie rod ends also. From the research i have done online it seems that alot of owners are having the same trouble with no help from dodge to correct the problem.

2008 dodge ram 3500.consumer writes in regards to left tie rod recall notice.the consumer stated the tie rod broke causing his truck to cross traffic, which resulted in him landing in a ditch. Chrysler sent the consumer a letter stating the repair order he submitted, did not show replacement of parts or services involved in the recall.according to the invoice, the right outer tie rod end broke and damaged the right sway bar end link.

This vehicle was recalled because of a problem with the steering linkage that could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash.when we took it to the dealer to verify the problem we were told that the defective part needed to be replaced but it would take 6 months because the manufacturer (chrysler) only ships 1 part per week to dealers.in other words, we have to drive a defective truck with a 4 year old child in the back seat for six months because there is a backlog of trucks needing the part replaced.is this ok with your agency?does president obama agree with this?

Death wobble on an 2008 dodge ram 2500 4x4 crew cab long bed. This recently happened six times and does not stop until the truck is almost to a stop. Went into other lane once causing other drivers to avoid collision. Just recently have had the truck over 65 mph. Drove 75 mph on i -80 to co, and then to coast of ca. Death wobble has happened at speeds of 30 mph to 70 mph. The front end wobbles slightly on small bumps which puts you on edge thinking it will go into a violent wobble immediately at normal highway speeds, or below. There is no visible damage to any parts in the front end and alignment seems fine. No solution had yet been found.

The steering wheel is suddenly very loose and there is a clunk under the driver's side when i turn the wheel from right to left.this issue came out of nowhere.i do not drive the truck often and i did not notice any incidence of note; there was no time when i noticed a sudden bump or clunk in the steering wheel.it came on gradually, but rapidly.these symptoms seem to align with a prior recall on this vehicle concerning the left tie rod ball stud, which can fracture at low speeds without notice, rapidly becoming dangerous for the occupants of the vehicle as the steering wheel can become inoperable.

This vehicle has an uncontrollable shaking with the front end. If you hit a bump ir a pothole you have to slow down until approximately 30-35 mph or possible stop to get the shaking to stop. It will vibrate anything off the dash. Front end parts have been replaced, front end aligned, new tires, factory recall. I notified dodge, of course they know nothing about this.after researching this matter i found that several thousands of people have this problem and has been named the death wobble. Any dodge from 2003-2008 has this. It is ridiculous that the dodge isn't held responsible for making an unsafe vehicle. This death wobble is still happening everyday when a bump is hit and is going to make someone wreck .

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, he suddenly lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a ditch.the contact was not injured and was able to exit the vehicle to further inspect the vehicle. He then discovered that the front passenger's side tie rod was fractured. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure, who sent a representative to further examine the failure. The representative concluded that the defect was erroneous. The manufacturer informed the contact that no assistance would be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 94,000.

Right tie rod end broke off, very limited steering.

Went to dodge dealership for routine tire rotation and alignment and they informed me that i needed all 4 ball joints replaced at only 62,833 miles to the cost of $3,000 (no mention of a possible defect)doing research on the replacement of these ball joints i found the complaints and decided to file one as well.this definitely poses a danger to my family as well as others who may not be aware of the possible defect.

The right (passenger) lower control arm ball joint failed while traveling approximately 30 miles per hour.the failure was a separation of the ball and bolt from the cup that is pressed into the cup.total control of the truck was lost and a minor accident occurred when the truck ended up on a median with the left (driver's) tire on the median and the other tires on the road.the median is approximately 16 inches above the road bed.the ball joint is part of the steering mechanism.the steering arm ended up pushing the right tire out at 45 degree angle outside or to the right.the left front tire was at a 45 degree angle to the left.the vehicle was on a city street nearing an intersection to a 55 mile an hour highway that the vehicle was about to turn left on. The driver reported a shaking of the steering wheel similar to a flat and began to slow down when control was lost due to the mechanical failure occurred.had this failure happened at highway speeds, the dodge ram would have rolled.the miles on the truck were 99,455.a ball joint should not fail with less than 150k miles.the vehicle was repaired on 2 may, 2017 and the left (recalled) ball joint, all steering hardware and the failed ball joint were replaced by a dodge dealer.the recalled part had not been replaced prior to purchasing the truck in december, 2016.the crash ended up in minimal to no damage to the vehicle.the vehicle had to be towed to the dodge dealer and the tow truck driver had to use plastic sliders to get the truck safely onto the flatbed tilt tow truck.

I appreciate your hard work in establishing safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 affecting 2008-2012 ram trucks where "the left tie rod ball stud may fracture causing loss of directional control and/or crash without warning."but, i contacted my dodge dealer in bellingham, wa on jan 6, 2014 as instructed by chrysler and have had 2 service appointments cancelled because they do not have the parts yet.my dealer is telling me that i may have to wait another 4 months or more.i am still number 15 on the list of over 70 requests and they tell me they are only allowed 1 part per week from the factory and sometimes don't even get that. I called 2 other dodge dealers in nw washington and got a similar story. One dealer told me the factory needed the parts to still make new trucks which is limiting the supply for the recall, but not to worry because he had only seen one serious steering failure from this problem so far...!driving my truck with the thought of suddenly loosing steering control without warning for another 4 months doesn't make me feel all that safe or responsible. Nor the thought of all the other trucks out there that may have to wait another year or more to be fixed.is this type of delay normal with such a serious recall?thank you for your time and concern.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Safety recall - chrysler hasrecalled left tie rod n49/nhtsa 13v-529.recall notice states "if your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge and within reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint...." to this website.when dealer was called - see dee motors anaconda, mt - 59711 - service manager mentioned that chrysler is only allowing 1 tie rod end part per week.i have 24 appointments ahead of me.i am on a waiting list but 4 months of wait time is "not reasonable"....

I have a recall that still to this day has not been taken care of, andwas sent out in nov. 2013. The dealership says that the parts have been back log, and now i have had to pay for a frontend alignment.this truck has had right tie rod and other front end work done ever since i have ownedit. I'm so upset over all, and in hopes thatntmv safety can do something about this. As ntmv safety act says that this could cause a loss of directional control and / or crash without warning. And to pay thousands of dollars for a truck that i paid hard earn dollars for, and could endanger someone else or myself.i don't feel it is safe to drive, because of all these recalls i have been sent. Yet, i have invested $$$$$$ in this truck and i need it to be safe.what can i do? can you help? please!

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. While the vehicle was undergoing a routine inspection at the dealer, the technician diagnosed that the front tie rod and steering shocks needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 13v528000 (steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,721.

Chrysler said my truck does not fall under their recall because it was inspected. The steering wheel linkage was not repaired but because it was seen, they said it does not meet nhtsa's stipulation for recall. Is this correct? the truck's steering is terrible and i was about to replace the linkage myself next month anyways due to safety issues when driving and turning radius. Also, they told me that i was due for a recall on the airbag, but there is none available in all the dealerships in the state of ohio. I would greatly appreciate any kind of response, thanks!! james

Was driving at approx 55mph and drove over a patched spot in road and the vehicle began to vibrate/shake uncontrollably until i brake or slowed the vehicle to approx 35 mph. This has occurred on 3 occassions since the initial event and two times has created a very unsafe condition while in interstate/highway traffic that almost caused 2 accidents with me trying to slow and pull off the road to gain control of the vehicle.this vehicle milage is about 98% highway milage.i am told by the local dodge dealer this is not related to the current recalls.

I own a 2008 dodge ram 2500 with the faulty tie rod ends (recall l16 according to chrysler) which i found out on my own not from chrysler. I've attempted to get the problem resolved several times from several different dodge dealers however none of them have the parts to fix my truck. I was told they have no idea when anything will be available and hope for the best that it doesn't break. The problem is getting worse the longer this drags out and is to the point of i am scared to drive the truck.

There is a recall on the left tie rod on my truck.the letter states that the tie rod can break and cause an a loss of control or crash without warning.i called my dealership, classic motors in richfield ut 435- 896-4441 and they put me on a waiting list that is one and one half years long! i have a truck that may crash at any moment without warning and my dealer can not get parts for 18 months.they can only get one part a week and they over 75 trucks in front of me. This seems completely unacceptable to me.they are creating a huge liability problem for themselves.please help me remedy this issue quicker.

Was attempting to back the truck up into driveway and had wheel turned all the way to the left. Heard a high pitched screech and then lost all power steering and was unable to move steering wheel. Had the truck towed to dealer to have repairs done on truck. Dealer stated that it was the power steering gear box again. This will be the third one replaced in the truck since 5/3/2011.

This truck started experiencing reverberation/wobble/bounce/shake after hitting a series of small bumps or pothole w/ one front tire. The wobble shakes the truck so hard that pieces of the interior break/fall off and the driver completely loses control of the steering of the vehicle. This began happening very intermittently (conditions/bumps/speed must be just right) this spring (2015) soon after we took the truck in for the recall on the driver's side tie rod linkage (they also told us the ball joint needed to be replaced). Since the dealership did not seem knowledgeable about our problem, we took the truck to multiple private repair shops during the summer trying to fix this intermittent, difficult-to-duplicate problem. We have replaced every part of the steering and suspension that had any "play" or wear including a ball joint, tie rods, control arm, pittman arm, steering stabilizer, heavy-duty shock for steering stabilizer, front shocks, various bushings, and steering gear box tightening . We even replaced the tires and wheels in case there was a mild warp/lack of balance. We have spent around $5000, but the truck is still not fixed. A search on youtube revealed that we are part of a large group of dodge truck owners experiencing what is coined "the death wobble."when the july 26 nhtsa press release came out, we were overjoyed! our apparently unfixable truck would be "bought back!" i was informed by chrystler that this is not the case. Since we "fixed" the recalled tie rod linkage (that would be the recall that led to all of these problems), our truck is not eligible for the buy back. I believe that chrystler not only knows that this problem is inherent in the design of these trucks (they changed the front end on 2014/15 models), but that they are shirking their buy-back responsibility. This truck is unsafe in its "fixed" state. How should we proceed?

I have an 08 dodge 2500 4x4 diesel. When i go over 60mph and hit a bump it does that "death wobble" it does it every time i even hit an imperfection in the highway, i replaced the steering damper/stabilizer, and dodge replaced all 4 ball joints at only 34,000 miles. But it still does it, even worse at times.i haven't wrecked or anything i just have to slow down to about 40 mph to get it to stop. That is very dangerous when the speed limit is 75 mph. I drive all around the country for work, and this occurs every single time i drive it. The truck is only about 8 months old. I bought it brand new.

I received a recall notice back in january 2014 and it stated to contact the dealer to have the recall maintenance done. I have called and tried for 5 months to get an appointment to have my ram looked at, to no avail. I keep being told that they are waiting for parts. If chrysler initiated this recall why don't they have the parts to fix it. My neighbor has a ram also and he is in the same position. What can i do to get my ram repaired? the recall # is n49/nhtsa 13v-529.

Turning onto a driveway when leakage started from the steering box. The previous week had noticed wobbles at 55 mi./hr.hitting pot holes sent me to the opposing lane. Already had suspension ( sway bars, pitman are, steering linkage redone after tie rod broke. Still no one can figure where there's a leak in the cooling system. Had to do body work out of pocket due to taking out a fence because of a defected tie rod,and paid for the tie rod, sway bars and links before i got the recall notice! took it in for recall on steering box, dealership did not replace because it was working fine at the time. Now i have toe expenses and loss of wages because it finally broke.

Recall issued but dealer can not get parts. Safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 we have limited number of days to have this replaced as we are planning a 5,000 mile trip with this pickup pulling a 35 ft travel trailer.

Both axle joints bad.all four tie rods have "play" in them. Ball joints are worn out.had right side tie rod end pop out while traveling down highway.2015rotors are heat cracked. While traveling a windy country road at approx. 40-45 miles per hour, when making a curve and hitting a rough patch of road the vehicle front end started to shake violently. We slowed down to make shaking stop. This happens all the time when rounding a curve and hitting a rough spot in the road.feels like the front end is going to come off. Very frightening. We took to dodge dealer and they could not find anything wrong with vehicle. Looked on the internet and found this is common among dodge trucks and is called the death wobble and dodge takes no responsibility for this. I guess it is cheaper to pay law suits than do the right thing and fix affected vehicles. How many lives have to be spent before dodge is held accountable?

Death wobble, when driving at any speed, and hitting a bump with the wheel turned even ever so slightly either way, the wheel just gives that direction and the entire truck starts to go that direction.it is very nerve racking, and extremely dangerous.the forums are littered with people with the same issue looking for an answer, but we aren't coming up with one, all while throwing money away into parts that may or may not be bad.i've already had the tie rod failure that dodge has a recall on, but they say my truck was not effected by the recall, so that fell on me to replace.when i called dodge about the problem, they state that no one has reported this issue before so it is an isolated incident with my truck.however, a google search yields thousands of people with the same thing.can this be investigated in any way?these trucks have become dangerous to drive, or be around on the highways due to this 'death wobble'.

Received recall - left side ball stud to replace. Called local dealer jan 6. Instructed to call back in 7 - 10 days - called back jan 13 -- told to come in, so not need appointment. ( 45 miles to dealer one way) visited dealer on jan 14th - looked at truck and informed me that they had to order parts. -- called jan 24th - will call us in a couple of days, no call. Called feb 4th - told our parts were not in and did not know when the parts would be in. Informed that chrysler was only giving the dealer one set a week.to date (feb 19th, 2014) we have not received a call from dealer, replacement is not completed.note: notification stated that the ball stud on my truck may fracture under certain driving conditions and this could cause a loss of directional control and or crash without warning. To me this is serious and needs attention !this truck is used to haul cattle & horses & farm duty. I am concerned.

Chrome finish coming off plastic grille, bubbling and peeling. Very cheaply made (most likely china.) have seen many more rams that look just like mine. Actually very common. More have this problem than not. Dodge says tough luck.

I purchased a 2008 dodge 2500 ram 4x4 new off the floor.it now has 46,700 miles and the left upper ball joint is shot.failed inspection.expensive repair and part replaced.on a heavy duty truck the ball joints should not fail with less than 50,000 miles.potential steering and safety issue - is this a trend with dodge trucks?

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. The failure was experienced numerous times. The failure also recurred when driving at lower speeds or when driving over any road bumps. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the front tie rod but the failure was not corrected. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 53,000.

My truck shakes violently when i hit imperfections in the road. It happens 3 or more times a week. I have to stop my truck to get the shaking to cease.i have had it to the dealer more than once for the problem.they could not "replicate the problem" the first two times.the third time i drove and the service manrode with me.they determined it was the tires that were causing the problem.they said tires were not covered in the warranty. So it looks like i get to fork over a grand for new tires.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, he drove over a pot hole and the vehicle started shaking violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the upper and lower ball joints were defective and needed to the replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 75,000.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact was driving 10 mph when the front tires seized without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic which located the failure at the front differential pinion gear bearing. The bearing had failed and caused the front tires to seize. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The manufacturer denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 71,941.

My vehicle has repeatedly experienced severe shaking of the front end while traveling at speeds of 65 to 70 mph after hitting a bump such as the transition of a bridge approach slab.i have had the recall check of the tie-rod, and have even tried a beefier tie rod with bracing.the only way to stop the violent shaking is to slow to less than 40 mph.i know this has been a repeated experience of dodge ram drivers based on forum discussions.i have had 2 sets of ball joints replaced as a result of the violent shaking.this last time this occurred, i was with my wife traveling to the coast.the shaking was so severe, we nearly hit a guard rail.i can't hardly believe that dodge has designed such a fatal flaw into a vehicle.

Recall issued but dealer can not get parts. Safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 we have limited number of days to have this replaced as we are planning a 5,000 mile trip with this pickup pulling a 35 ft travel trailer.

I have a 2008 dodge durango and i had the same problem when it hit a bump you almost lose control and i did not think it should do that. I was on my way to the store when it happen and the car will almost jump into another lane this have to be some kind of defect on this car.

At highway speeds can hit small bump and the truck starts shaking violently.almost lost control of the truck.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that both the upper and lower ball joints failed, resulting in a potential loss of directional stability in the steering wheel. The dealer was notified and advised the contact that there were no recalls for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. Inspection revealed excessive play in the left front outer tie rod end.recommendation made to replace the front tie rod assembly.

Vehicle wanders when driving had 2 front end alignments and tires balanced has not corrected problem. Had it reinspected and left tie rod end worn. Was told it does not come under recall for steering linkage.

I was driving my 2008 dodge ram 2500 (gas) coming into town and slowed down to approx. 50 mph and hit a small bump in the road. The truck began to shake violently and i thought the whole front end had fallen apart. Luckily i was able to pull over without causing an accident. I checked over truck and could find nothing obviously wrong. Took it to dodge dealer and they said they could find nothing wrong with truck and that they had never heard of this type of complaint. I now believe this to be a lie after reading so many other similar complaints. This problem will kill some one soon if dodge continues to ignore these complaints. My heart took about an hour to settle down i was so terrified.

I own a 2005 and a 2008 dodge diesel 4x4,automatic trans. I've had to replace both stabilizer bars and links as well as all the other bars running across the front of the trucks. I've already replaced the linkage and steering box on the 08 due to loss of steering involving an accident. I now have the steering gear and linkage going out on the 05. The dealership says there's no recall on my problems. Funny how its happening w.both trucks. The 05 had about 50,000 when the problems stared occurring and the 08 started at approx. 2,000 mi, my shop had told me my wheel bearings were already getting worn and needed replacing soon in the 08, and its still new!! the tranny has been rebuilt in the 05 at 50,000. The 08 has been in the shop at least 5 times already and now has 14,000 on it. Im sure spending alot of money on both trucks with the same problems i wish someone would look into these issues. Its pretty strange both trucks have the same problems. Dodge acknowledges these problems but tells me i still have to pay for itbecause they're using better parts that are more costly. If im paying for it anyway i might as well take them to another shop i trust. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a dodge. Nothing but a headache and im going broke! i've lost my faith and am scared to even take my children to school!

I have a 2008 dodge ram 2500 with cummins diesel.this truck is completely stock and has the notorious death wobble.the shaking is extremely violent and starts when i hit a small bump at highway speeds of 65 mph.it has happened apr. 20 times in the last three weeks and typically i have to slow down to as low as 20 mph to get it to stop shaking.i have had it to the dealership twice with no improvement.they tell me everything is ok and that they have never heard of such a problem.it wasn't until i did some research on the internet and discovered that it is a substantial complaint with many truck owners.why has there not been a safety recall or further investigationby the nhtsa?believe me, this is a very serious and unsafe condition.

While driving 2008 dodge ram mega cab (~82,000 miles) on i-39 north from bloomington il at mile marker 87, complete loss of steering occured on vehicle.was able to get vehicle to stop. Got out and inspected vehicle found outer tie rod on passenger side seperated.call police and chrysler customer service.tow truck took vehicle to rochelle il dodge dealer.il state patrol was on site also.

I own a 2008 dodge 2500.im having what people are calling "death wobble"my local dealer, colorado springs dodge says there is nothig wrong with my truck and i should replace my tires.they want to wash their hands of this and place blame on someone else.

When you run over a bump or seam in the road with the right front tire and then immediately after with the left front tire, the front of the truck starts bouncing uncontrollably until the speed of the truck is reduced drastically. This occurs with speeds between 55 and 80 mph.it occurs approximately once per month, you never know the next time it happens. The ball joints and steering box were rebuilt with new numbered parts and has not corrected the front suspension problem.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500.the contact stated that while traveling 25 mph, a loud noise was emitted from the front end of the vehicle and no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel.the contact mentioned that the vehicle would veer to the right and to the left.the failure recurred several times.the manufacturer was not contacted.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the upper and lower ball joints on both the driver and passenger side needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 57,222.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge 2500 diesel. The contact stated that the wheel bearing was wearing prematurely. The wheel bearing were replaced less than 20,000 miles ago and needed a second replacement. The contact believed the failure to be a defect because the bearings failed twice with very little mileage on the vehicle. The dealer stated that the component was not under recall. The failure mileage was 34,000 and the current mileage was 54,000.

I was driving on i405 in washington state traveling southbound when i noticed smoke coming from my engine compartment...i pulled over popped the hood and took a quick look.. I noticed flames on the lower portion of the motor almost behind the firewall...called 911...

Electrical fire in dash. My husband was driving and smelt something burning. As he went to pull over flames started shooting out the vents. Truck is a total loss per insurance.

My front left tie rod in my truck broke causing extensive damage. While driving my 2008 dodge ram 2500 cummins diesel if i hit an oblique bump in the road the truck starts shaking side to side so violently that i feel like the doors will come of. It has happened about 20 to 30 times and when it happens i have to bring the truck to a complete stop in the middle of freeway or road before i can drive again. I have contacted chrysler and after many phone calls they have agreed to pay for a fix, the problem is the local dealer tells me if they do the repair chrysler will not reimburse them. It seems as they are playing games with me. My truck has only 70,000 miles and dealer says the wear on the front end seems like on 90,000 miles truck. I have replaced the steering dampener at about 30,000 miles and have not seen any difference.

Cold air blowing from driver side only, while passenger side blowing warm when set on heater mode. :(problem still happening , most dissapointingas i just bought this used vehicle, and we're beginning winter weather.

The contact stated that the windshield wipers malfunctioned and the passenger side wiper would only operate rapidly. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 09v084000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 42,000.

2008 dodge ram 2500 heavy duty 4x4,diesel engine,quad-cab,short bed. The windshield wipers failed to work . When i first noticed the problem a couple of weeks ago i was leaving a car wash and just happened to turn the wipers to the"high" position on the switch and they stopped working right where they were on the windshield. I changed the switch back to the low speed and they started working again. I made an appointment with the dealership to have it fixed, while i was waiting for the day of my appointment the windshield wipers still would not function at all on the high setting, i looked in the owners manual to see if it was a fused item that maybe i just needed to replace a fuse and monitor further incase it was blowing the fuse for a reason , but there was no listing for the wipers in the fuse section of the owners manual, i then noticed the wipers were not working in all the positions on the switch intermittently some times they worked some times they didn't, and it didn't have a pattern of when they would work or not ,just if they came ,on they came on ,if not they wouldn't ,no matter how many times you turned the switch off and on or the truck off and on, once or twice they seemed to be moving slower than normal in the low setting then sped up to the right speed. My problem is with safety of it .here we are getting bad weather, ice ,snow rain ,salt spray from other drivers etc. And not knowing when or if they are going to fail is a safety issue ,you can drive all day use them ten times, then some car pass spray road grime all over your windshield and have them not work and loose total visibility. May even crash. I took my truck in on its appointmentonly to find three others there for the same reason... Parts are on back order and no time line on when they will arrive and how long it takes to fix once it is dropped off , they said i could leave the truck or take it. No loaner vehicle or nothing . Just here's your broken 4 month old , $46,000 truck back.

When i turn on the left blinker, the right one flashes on my truck. Then i turn on right blinker and the left blinker flashes. Also the wipers will sometimes stop or slow down when i have my blinkers on. This is gonna cause an accident. Thank you

Windshield wiper motor recall.my windshield wiper motor lockup when i was driving the wiper was locked straight up and down.almost had several wrecks trying to get home. After rain stopped took off left windshield wiper to be able to see. Nhtsa has a recall but dodge but my wiper motor does not fall under that recall.you need to expand recall to fix this problem on all 2008 dodge ram 2500's.

The hvac blend doors where they interface with the actuator motor are broken. The plastic was too thin for the strength of the motor and sheared off. My windshield frosted up very quickly with the humidity in the cabin.

Mode heat door failure causing defrost/heating problems when necessary.fogging of interior windows.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. While driving various speeds, the windshield wipers failed to function intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the wiper motor was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. While driving at 50 mph, the vehicle shook. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15.
