Resently when car is started all dash lights go out& thenthe air bag light reappears as i drive it goes out & then comes back on so it'slike itsdoes sporadically

The contact owns a 2009 dodge nitro. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle to check the diagnostic trouble code and stated that the failure may be related to the air bag module. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available. Consumer stated dealer was contacted and was told her dodge nitro was never on recalled. Enclosed is a report stating air bags has been recalled.

I was driving the vehicle.i came to a complete stop at a stop sign.for no apparent reason, the air bag light came on and stayed on.i consulted with the manufacturer dealer where the vehicle was purchased.the dealer claimed there was no recall for the nitro air bag when in fact chrysler mini-vans were under recall for a clock spring which is probably the same part used in the nitro.took it to the dealer and was told is could be several things beginning with a switch in one seat.replaced the switch and the light is still on.these parts are $200-400 a piece times two seats because both seats activate the air bags sensors. More importantly, no guaranteed that this is a solution to the problem.basically, dealer is no sure why the air bag light is on.called chrysler customer car they had no answers plus i was told anyone that could help me would require a 24 hour time lapse before they would actually call me back.clerk on the other end of line was asking me what should they do for me to fix the problem.

Tipm module malfunctions. This is the second time this has happened. I believe it is about a $1000.00 repair.stationary in my driveway

While using the remote key to lock/unlock the care, the horn starts blaring, the wipers (front and rear) start going, washer fluid shoots out, doors lock and unlock independently.doors will not unlock/lock with remote.the lights start blinking.i have to physically unlock the car and quickly open before it locks again.the second time my son was driving on the highway and this all occurred while he was driving at night.he was able to pull over but was clearly shook up.when turning on the engine the horn starts blaring again, with lights blinking.if he tuned on/off the windshield wipers the horn starts blaring and the lights start flashing. When pressing the actual door lock the horn starts blaring.it took 3 restarts to try to continue the drive.it is clearly unsafe to drive this vehicle and is negligent on our part to try to do so.this is are main source of transportation.i am really scared of what could happen should the entire system shut down on the highway.what if the steering goes out again and someone is killed? i looked up similar issues and found that there were numerous other complaints regarding 2008 and 2009 dodge nitros. The diagnosis is apparently a faulty tipm.there appears to be a national backorder on this part and despite this, still no recall for the 2008-2009 models only the 2010-2012 have been issued.i purchased a dodge because i truly felt that it was a great vehicle and i am worried and disappointed that they are not standing behind their products.what will it take?how many deaths or near freak accidents before they actually make this right?

While pumping my gas the gas began to backflow up in poor everywhere and all over the car and the ground at the gas station and on my hands. This clearly is unsafe for one it is a huge fire hazard it is dangerous towards ones health and also the environment. I have read elsewhere of other people numerous people with this same issue since 2007 in chrysler vehicles and am unsure why they would not yet have a recall on this issue by now. With that said i definitely think that someone needs to put a stop to this fire hazard before some one is seriously injured. I guess they are waiting for something "dangerous" such as some one seriously getting burned before they actually take this issue seriously. After locking the vehicle you come back and unlock it and put in the key and it will not allow you to start the vehicle. This has happened to my husbands car on 3 separate incidents the first time they removed the after market alarm and said that caused the second time they removed another part the 3rd time 2 years later they stated it was a different part wheni found the following online dodge nitro problem26 reportsme toomodel years affected: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011average mileage: 67,977 mi (41,000 mi - 107,232 mi)verifiedthe anti-theft system may cause a no start condition due to electrostatic discharge (esd) affecting the wireless control module (wcm). There is an updated wcm to correct this issue.when i asked about it the dealer told me not to believe blogs and if i had an issue contact dodge when i contacted dodge and askedif this was a known issue i was told they could not help and to ask the dealer. If this is a know problem why does the consumer have to pay to fix this issue last time it was 446.71.

On 5/24/2019 jones junction t/a jones chrysler jeep dodge diagnosed my 2009 dodge nitro with a failing front drive shaft (the assembly from the transfer case to the differential joint) and recommended immediate replacement. I was told not to drive the vehicle because there was a safety concern that the joint inside the boot could completely fail and the solid metal shaft would drop and snag the road. The part (#52853363af) has been on backorder with dodge chrysler since late may. First delivery date quoted was 6/7/19, then 6/20/19, and now 7/7/19. I have no answers to when this issue will be resolved and when the vehicle will be safe to drive again.

The vehicle acted like it was possessed. The dash lights went off then back on, the headlights went off then back on, the wipers turned on by themselves, engine turned off while going down the road at 60mph, starter keeps turning after the key is removed, doors lock by themselves with nobody around, and now it wont start. It just cranks over.
