My sons had a crash in a 2005 dodge neon. They were going approximately 40-45 mph. They hit a mailbox with metal pipes, a parked durango, a parked malibu, decorative rocks in the corner, went airborne and totaled the whole passenger side front end of the car. Neither of the air bags deployed, and the seat belts didn't lock. We bought this card because of the safety features for our teenage son and they did not work.
My 2005 dodge neon entered into a collision with a 2001 ford taurus on 7/4/2014. My vehicle hit the ford taurus head-on into the passenger's side of the ford taurus at about the middle of the taurus. My seat belt had kept me in my seat, but the air bag had failed to deploy, resulting in permanent injuries which will require pain management and surgery at some point.the posted speed limit was 45 mph, and i was estimated to be traveling at around 40 mph at the time of impact.
Dodge neon 2005 ran a red light , hit a large van total my car. The air bags did not work. I hit windshield, steering wheel and knee hitting brake lever. I have three cracked ribs , large knot on knee, laracation on forehead from hitting windshield. Just got over heat surgery. Doctors said it will take 6 to 8 weeks to heal. The car only had 3,500 when we purchased. Was checked out on carfax .
Airbag failed to deploy!i was in a 6 car accident, front and rear ended followed by another hit! my 2005 dodge neon sxt was total right off at 33,000 miles. Not only that the airbag failed to deploy but the locking mechanism on the driver back seat had gave causing me to be tossed backwards! the locking mechanism on the steering wheel tilt also broke causing the steering wheel to drop in my lap! i now suffer abdominal pain, lower back pain, leg pain, and head injuries which i am now seeing a rehab, chiropractor doctor 3 days a week.dodge dealers claims that there cars are 5 stars! safety equipment should work proper at all times!

It was raining and my husband was driving at 45 mph on our local highway when someone pulled across both lanes and stopped. My husband had to swerve to miss hitting the other driver directly in the door and unavoidably hit him in the passenger side front end with our passenger side front end at 45 miles per hour. The impact was serious and our car was totaled. Neither air bag deployed.

2005 dodge neon sxt drove through a red light. A crash occurred and the air bags did not deploy.
My 2005 neon has been slipping when shifting from first to second gear. It is worse in warm weather. Transmission fluid fine and not burnt. Didn't pick up on the computer when it was checked out at a garage but no one disputes the problem. Feels like slipping on ice. Has 35,000m now and has been shaking as well. It began doing this at 30,000. Out of warranty by 6 months. Further, hit a deer last night. Significant damage to front end. Hit the deer hard enough for it to fly up onto the roof and bounce off. Body shop was surprised airbags did not deploy as the sensor was exposed and definitely hit. I'm kind of glad they didn't but after reviewing complaints this seems to be an issue. Finally. The wheels have been corroded since day one and there is no reason that the wheels should have done this let alone nearly immediately after purchase. Once again, dodge does nothing.
My wife struck another vehicle in the back @ approximated 45 miles per hour with substantial front end damage to the front end (total loss) none of the air bags deployed. I contacted dodge with this issue they had a lot of excuses and promised to send out a rep. To investigate the incident but never did.
2005 dodge neon involved in a crash and air bag did not deploy.the neon was northbound traveling at 30 miles per hour.a vehicle pulled out and the neon struck the drivers side of the other vehicle with the complete front end of the neon.point of impact and speeds should have deployed the air bag.
2005 dodge neon [xxx]. 4 cyl, 2.0 ltr engine, 12,326 miles, i was driving in anchorage alaska, on 03/06/06, my accelerator got stuck, and i was going faster, before i knew what to do i slammed into an abandoned vehicle, i was going about 30/40 mph, airbags didn't deploy. At impact i hit my head got a concussion. After impactcar was still accelerating, put the car in park, realized the accelerators stuck, now smoke was filling the car, and i got my phone and ran thinking it was going to explode, i called 911, they asked if the engine was still revving and i said yes, they then told me to back away from the car, and wait for the fire dept. 3 witnesses saw that the engine was still revving with me out of the car. Anchorage fire/paramedic came. The fire dept disconnected the battery and opened the trunk; smoke was still coming out of the engine/trunk. Anchorage police came and asked what happened, i told him. I got a case number case #, and they towed my car to a body shop. Body shop found that there was a hole in my plenum/ intake manifold, caused by the collision. That's why the car was still revving. I asked how did the accelerator get stuck in the first place, was told he could not determine that. I called daimler chrysler, to file a claim with them. They sent a special investigator to look at the car. I got a letter from daimler chrysler, and was told that they are denying my claim. I called to find out why, and was told daimler chrysler does not care about the claim, a decision was made and that's final, i can seek legal action if i feel like it. I asked why daimler chrysler does not care about the claim, she told me a decision was made and that was final i can't do anything about it and ended the call. My insurance is going to fix the car, but i have to drive this car knowing that the original problem was never fixed, and that every time i put my wife and my 7 month old in the car.updated 07/16/2012
My son was driving our 2005 dodge neon on hwy. 50 when a 2003 dodge dakota 4x4 made an unsafe lane change in front of our car.the driver of the dakota slammed on his brakes before being completely in my son's lane and my son rear-ended the dakota (front end damage, most of which was caused by the dakota's trailer hitch punching through our neon--trailer hitch entered to the right side of the neon'slicense plate by about a foot).air bags did not deploy should have.my son was wearing his safety belt and due to the air bags not deploying, his knees were rammed into the dash.at time of impact, my son believes he was going about 20 mph.damage to the neon, according to cal state auto and geico, is $7400.00.my son had sore knees and a wrenched back plus a very sore chest from the seat belt being the only thing that held him in place (could have been much worse).
When i turn on my right turn signal my fog lights turn on. I smelled something that smelled like burning electrical components. When i looked at my mfd switch connector the left side(number 10&20) was showing signs of melting.
I have a 2004 dodge neon, my turning signals sometimes work and sometimes they don't. I have to bang the steering wheel for them to work properly. Also my horn stopped working all of sudden. I have checked all of the fuses and the horn it self and there is nothing found.
While vehicle was parked smoke came from out of the engine compartment.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
I purchase a 2005 dodge neon in june. Approxiately 3 werks later i notice how when i would have to stop when time to move forward car would stall and barely want to go then all of a sudden it would pick up. It did that for 2 days. The 3rd day i drove away in it with no promblems. Whentime for me to leave it would not start. I replace starter, battery, alternator and also made sure all these parts where good. My car still will not start. Please help me out just spent $2,000.00 and my car still will not start. Car was parked when it occured.
About 1 year ago, the vehicle started by itself when i was in the car and engaged the automatic door locks. Then on this occasion i was laying down in my room and must have rolled over on the remote and engaged the door lock button. The car started in the garage. Luckily, it was discovered in <5 minutes and the car was turned off. I have taken the batteries out of the remote and am no longer using it. I am taking the car in for diagnostic testing/repairs, but i don't think that i should have to pay for this since it is a safety issue.
I was driving to downtown los angeles with my friends and all of a sudden there is smoke coming out of my dashboard right in front of my steering wheel something was burning. I then later notice my brake, fog, high beams, andturn signals light do not work. I went on a forum to see if it's a common problem and i saw cars that were burned and i saw that it was a connection that was faulty. I remove my turn signal switch and i found out that it was burned too the exact same place. We were lucky that the car didn't catch fire. I went to a junk yard to see if i could get one and all the dodge neons that i got to they were all shots and burned. I want to get a recall for this that cannot be possible that all the cars even my friends car has that too and it's a dodge neon. Can something please be done about this
I have a dodge neon 2005 and i knowa few other people that have them to. I have been getting like a stall and engine light coming on so i took it to auto zone and they say it's the cam sensor. Three out of the five people i know with neon say they had the same thing happen and when i research it it's all over the internet why is this not a recall since so many people are having issues with it.
A total loss of power engine lossed power but came back and it happen again at a traffic light everything shut down and did not restart until i mayed the window go down then the power came back on then i was able to restart the car.
Sudden loss of power, engine misses and stalls. Will not restart.
Multifunction switch faulty which causes the battery to fail and the fog lights to flicker.
A total loss of electronic no power the emergency flashers would not work the transmission down shiftedand all systems stopped working. I pulled over and turned off the ignition and back on and hit the power window button and the power came back on.
Switch started hanging up and would not go to lock position. Keep working shifter and switch until it goes to lock position so i can remove key.

Person sold an inoperable vehicle. Using verbal manipulations he claimed in the add and later face to face that the vehicle has a clean title (carfax report shows it as salvage with multiple reported accidents and 8 service history records), certain mileage (148000 claimed, 223.300 in reality), he was the 2nd owner (3 owners in reality) and no major issues - was told in person during the sale operation, also told he was selling the car for his friend thats why there was a different person name on a title ((xxxxx)). Seller was convencing and did a great job at confusing igor and decieving him. The seller lied about the smog check also and took advantage of the buyer - the car didnt pass the smog check the next morning 6/27, and later the same day didnt start anymore for good. Seller send a text message to igor that same morning saying that car is overheating and water has to be placed in the radiator daily, but it's a very dangerous procedure as the water inside the tank is of a boiling temperature and can splash uncontrollably under pressure resulting onto an injury, which was a mockery as by that time a car was marked as inoperable by a mechanic and that was a miracle that it made it to the curbside. Currently it is absolutely dead metal. The car was fraudlently and intentionally made to work just one day specificly to make a sale. (xxxxx) intentionally gave out the false facts about the car and misled (xxxx) towards the sale completion. (xxxx) trusted the seller, false info and fake odometer pictures thats been forced at him, as he couldnt see things clearly in person and was misled and verbally manipulated. All records as documents on this car, add screenshots and text messaging between (xxxx) and seller (xxxx) are available as proof.redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Blown head gasket at 60,000 miles
About 2 years ago my 2005 dodge neon was not idling properly and shortly thereafter would not start. I brought my car to a mechanic and had a tune up and they had to replace a spark plug. Last week my car began acting in the same manner however this time began vibrating. I brought my car again to the same mechanic. He replaced the brake shoes and told me i needed engine mounts. When i went onto the internet to research the cost of these parts i came across numerous similar complaints. One site listed this as a major problem with the 2005 dodge neon and people have written they have had collisions due to this problem. Also noted was the problem keeps returning and costs the owners alot of money. I feel this should be looked at seriously.
My 2005 dodge neon, began accelerating all by it self.i was not giving it gas and applying the brakes.i pulled into my driveway, it kept going, i went through my garage door.i tried to put the car in park, but the garage door slowed me down, and i then put the car in park.i read on line this has happened to hundreds of people.i tried to change the throttle sensor, that did not work.my next step is to change the oxygen sensor. I hope that works. I have been without a car for 1 week now, because i am scared to death to drive it again. It happened one other time prior to running into the garage.it just seems like there should be some type of recall as this is very dangerous.i was lucky it was my garage door instead of a human being.it cost me 800 to replace the garage door, and that was a friend giving me an incredible deal.you cannot replace a human life.please have dodge neon give a solution to fix this problem, and warn people about it.arizona december 26th, 2011.
I was driving on the freeway for several miles and got off an off ramp. I continued to drive throughout the city and had come to a four way stop. I proceeded to go and accelerated in 1st gear and then put the car into 2nd gear. While in the 2nd gear, the engine came to an abrupt stop and sparks flew all over the street. The clutch had ejected itself out of the transmission causing massive damage to the engine bay and chassis. Dealer and insurance companies denied my claim and have not fixed my motor vehicle.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The vehicle was parked when the contact detected three rubber engine mounts were cracked and broken. The engine was positioned in the engine compartment unsecured due to the defective mounts. The contact had concern of the safety issue. The failure mileage was 60,000. The current mileage was 65,000.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle lost power. The contact moved off the roadway and contacted the dealer who informed him that the vehicle would need further diagnostic testing to determine the failure. There were no recalls for the vehicle and repairs would be at the contacts expense. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileage were 65,000.
I bought a 2005 dodge neon sxt on december 14,2005 and just on sunday january 8, 2006 the clamp and hose of the radiator just broke. I had my car towed to my house and then i had the car towed to the dealers on monday. They advised me that it was that, which i noticed that day that about 6 other cars came in also the same year make and model, it was the 2005 dodge neon sxt line. So they replaced the part and so far it has held up but don't now for shore yet. So please pass this down in the recall that this line of car's have a hose and clamp recall thanks edward robinson.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.the radiator clamp fell off and caused all of the radiator fluid to leak out of the vehicle.the vehicle failed and was towed to the dealer.at 9,000 miles, the front brake pads had to be replaced and an alignment was performed.both repairs were performed under warranty.at 15,000 miles, the tires caused the vehicle to shake when the gear was in drive.all four tires were replaced under warranty.at 18,000 miles, the brackets under the driver's seat failed and the seat could not be moved backwards or forwards.the repair was performed under warranty.also at 18,000 miles, the dealer had to adjust the rear brakes because they were squealing and pulsating.the squealing and pulsating occurred all the time, but especially in the mornings.the contact paid for the adjustment.the cd player failed and was repaired under warranty.currently, the rear brakes are still squealing and pulsating, and the motor mounts have failed.the motor makes a popping sound during acceleration.while driving in reverse, the motor will sink into the vehicle.the only thing supporting the motor is the exhaust.the motor is almost touching the hood of the vehicle when it is closed.he has scheduled an appointment for the motor mounts to be repaired.the current mileage was 32,764 and failure mileage was 300.
The contact owns 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and they were unable to duplicate the failure. He then took the vehicle to another dealer who stated that the camshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor wiring needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they were aware of the failure. The vehicle was being inspected and he was waiting for a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle identification number was not available. The failure and current mileage was 25,800.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would not move more than 45 mph.the vehicle also began to shake.the failures were inconsistent and occurred without warning.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 34,230.
My 2005 dodge neon does not want to crank.when it does crank and you accelerate then rpms increase rapidly and then fall back to about 1500 and the car starts acting like it wants to cut off.the engine light is now on and does not go off.when you come to a stop the car jumps forward quickly and then acts like it is going to cut off.not drivable, too dangerous.
Purchased my neon brand new in sept. 2005 in the summer of 2009 i started experiencing the car misfiring and putting along with codes p0335 crankshaft sensor & p0340 camshaft sensor and both were replaced and here we are march of 2010 and still having problems with the engine (sane parts replaced)light coming on engine misfiring and driving on the way to work one morning the car just completely died luckily i wasn't in any traffice.i was able to coast to the side of the road put the car in park after three attempts the car finally started back up again and a new code appeared p0129 barametric pressure.the engine light for now has gone off, but the codes are still there, it stil rides horriblel. I love this car but it is really becoming a pain in the ass i don't know from day to day what going to happen when i get behind the wheel no wonder they dont' make them anymore.
Dt*:the contact stated while traveling 35 mph, the vehicle was shifted into second gear and it accelerated beyond effort.the brakes and steering failed after this occurred.the vehicle was turned off.while attempting to restart the vehicle , it would not start.the vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it was determined the air intake hose cracked and caused a vacuum leak.the hose was replaced.
The ac unit leaks into the environment needing to be filled yearly. We paid a dealer to repair the ac and it all leaked out again. They refilled once again and said to bring it back every year to have it refilled again. So far it has all leaked out 3 times now.

Dt: on september 24, 2005 the radio caughton fire.contacted dodge, they sentan investigator , andconsumer wasstill waiting for a disposition from them. The fire investigator determined that the amp had overheated and caught on fire.nothing was in contact with it. There was no modifications made to it, and there was no forewarning. At 112,000 miles vehicle started loosing rpms at all speeds and conditions, usually after being driven for 30 miles or more. Sudden onset, no prior indication. Entire car shakes then at times stalls in heavy or no traffic, particularly at any inclines. Today i merged into heavy interstate traffic and vehicle suddenly stopped. The fuel pump has been replaced and no one has been able to offer any help as to what else it may be. I have found various forums with this make, model, year with the same exact problem with no solution indicated. This is the most common problem with this vehicle according to 3 major sites and at least 4 mechanics, often occurring on brand new vehicles. Dodge has been notified. There may not have been an accident yet but it will most likely happen.
2005 dodge neon se suddenly began to constantly accelerate despite the gas pedal not being pressed.braking would slow the car but not effectively and the car would accelerate once the brake pedal was disengaged.while this was occurring, no sensors in the on-board diagnostic computer indicated any problem.the car was driven 30 more minutes with the engine being repeatedly turned off - in order to stop the car at red lights/stop signs - but putting the car in neutral caused the engine to attempt to red line and necessitated it be turned off.in order to continue traveling, the engine had to be started and the car rapidly put in drive or reverse before the engine red lined.after approximately 30 minutes, the check engine light came on.nothing of note preceded the failure and the only work done on the car in the last 12 months was routine oil changes and one rotation of tires.once the dealership examined the car, they found a faulty vacuum line but were unable to determine the failure for 30 minutes of the on-board diagnostic computer in determining that constant acceleration (or a failure in the fuel system) was outside the normal operating parameter of the engine. Dodge was contacted on the issue and contended the repair was outside the scope of the existing warranty and also could not explain the failure of the on-board diagnostic computer in detecting the failure of the fuel system.they seemed uninterested in investigating further.
Car fine until it warms up then the motor begins to shake, huge rpm loss, cuts off mid-traffic. Happens every time car is driven over 30 miles, then is undriveable for at least 6 hours. Stalls in the middle of highway or uphills, or down hills . Very dangerous going over 30 mph.

On or about march 1, 2013, my 2005 dodge neon began to have clutch problems. On march 11, 2013, i brought the neon in for repairs at the dealer i purchased it at. The repairs took 3 week. On july 10, 2013, i drove to the denver v.a. From cheyenne, wy and on the trip back to cheyenne, wy, the clutch went out completely and suddenly. I called the dodge dealership in loveland, co on july 11, 2013 to set-up an appointment for the repairs and after waiting for 4 hours for them to call me back with a time they would schedule an appointment, i called someone else, who set me an appointment right than and there.
Transmission locked up.

1.) nothing2.) the check engine light came on and then it went into limp mode and lost speedometer.was told it was the output speed sensor replaced nothing, then told it was the input sensor nothing, ended up being the transmission control module. Nope thrown away sorry.
My vehicle has a problem when i accelerate.however, the automatic transmission is bumpy or shudder into rough first or second gear shift. Also, another way when i stopped the brake pedal then i quickly press the gas pedal is shakes a little bit. I will consider going to the dodge dealer to see what's going on.

The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.the contact stated that his vehicle becomes mobile in any gear while it is parked.the vehicle automatically rolled downhill and slipped into reverse.the dealer picked up the vehicle on may 7, 2007 and returned it the next day, without any explanation for the cause of failure.the vehicle has not been repaired.the engine size was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 42,649.
- the contact has a 2005 dodge neon with an odometer reading of 29000 miles. The contact stated that under dry conditions while driving at 65 mph the driver side cv joint failed, which caused the contact to lose control and hit a bridge. The contact had the car towed to the dealer, and is waiting for the vehicle to be fixed. The contact also called the manufacturer about the failure, and they instructed the contact to have the vehicle fixed and then they would replace the drive axle.also, a police reportwas taken.
Dt*:the contact stated while turning, at 30 mph, a pop was heard.the vehicle was pulled over and the contact did not hear any additional noises.a burning smell was noticed and there was a liquid trail behind the vehicle.it was towed to the dealership.the vehicle was not torn apart for inspection, but the district technician and manufacturer representative determined, while the vehicle was on a lift, a piece of the pressure plate broke loose and went through the transmission.it was determined to be owner abuse and no repair was offered under warranty.

Jumps out of third gear when under pressure.
2005 dodge neon sxt.car will roll on a driveway if placed on 4th gear.i parked my car on my mom's driveway which is elevated at an angle.i thought i had placed the gear in reverse.instead, i inadvertently placed it on fourth gear which is right next to reverse.when my kids were getting in the car, the car started to roll backwards.luckily, nobody was injured.it was possible that someone could have gotten hurt if they were behind the car.the parking brake could not hold the weight of that car.the manufacturer did specify to put the car in reverse when parking the car.however, they should have emphasized on the owner's manual that putting the car in fourth gear will not hold the car in gear if parked on an incline.i hope that the manufacturer will advise other owners about this before someone gets injured or die.
Dt*: the contact stated at various speeds, the vehicle must be shifted from second to third gear multiple times for the transmission to shift.the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem.
I have a 2005 dodge neon srt-4. I purchased the car last may brand new with 2 miles on the odometer. Since about 800 miles ihave been having a problem with the 3rd gear during both up shifting and down shifting. During the up shift, at times it will just lock out of gear, and i will have to release the clutch, rev the engine and then press the clutch again to get the gear to engage.during the down shift, about 1 out of 10 times it will either just pop back out of gear, it will seem to only partly engage, then grind and pop out, or just grind and not engage at all.i took it into the dealership where i purchased it, along with another local dodge dealership to ask about it, and at both places i was told that it is a common problem, but unless i could show them what was happening, while it was happening, there was nothing they could do about it.
My vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission and intermittently will not go into 3rd. Gear. Pulling out in traffic becomes quite an adventure and when the problem occurs, i cannot do anything but try to go back into second or into fourth. Snow conditions makes this very unsafe to try to control vehicle. I use the car for work as a courier. Battling this problem since it was new on 10/18/05. Trans was repaired once. Trans acted the same way within a few thousand miles. I contacted chrysler and got a case going with customer assistance which was useless. They told me to take the car back to the dealer who did verify the problem, but said there isn't a fix for it!
I tried to latch seat belt on my dodge neon2005 but it wouldn't latch the female end is broken, car has 24,000 miles on it.
Both front seat belts will not work. Driver's side won't stay latched. Passenger's side won't unlatch.

On 10/6/15 my son was involved in a car accident.he was merging onto the parkway when the suv he was following came to a complete stop due to the car in front of it doing the same, but when my son tried to break the breaks were completely out causing him to hit the back of suv he was following, with his quick thinking he pulled the emergency breaks to prevent hit suv again as it was pulling over.
I shifted my car into reverse and it accelerated by itself. Shifted into neutral and could not stop crashed thru my neighbors garage door. There s no check engine light and could not stop when applying the brakes even in neutral. I checked and there was nothing under or blocking the gas pedal. No mats in car.
For 3 to 4 weeks, intermittent braking problems with car.after driving about 3 miles from start, stopping at 4 stop signs, passing through 3 traffic lights no problems - driving using cruise control set at 55-65mph, driving up hill, often the engine is accelerating , when i put my foot on the brake because i want to slow down - the brake pedal does not move - i can't push it down on the first try.until yesterday, the second attempt at braking worked normally 100% of the time.the cruise control does not disengage until the brakes can be engaged.yesterday i had to try the brake pedal three times before i was able to push the brake pedal down and engage brakes.have been able to recreate problem several times, the incident yesterday occured when i was trying to recreate.problem has occured at least 20 times in past weeks.in 2 incidents the pedal initially resisted but i was able to push it down without making a second attempt - driving on a sort of level area.always happens when the cruise control is engaged, actively controlling speed of car.never experienced the problem or duplicated when cruise not actively engaged.no problems at interstate speeds 75-80 mph.never happens in towncruise engaged set to 35-45 mph.its been happening more and more.since the incident where it took 3 tries to engage the brakes.no longer using cruise.first visit to dealer not able to determine the problem (after 3 incidents) going back to the dealer's on jan 2. Drive 66 miles round trip each work day new mexico road with many hills, high altitude above 6,200 ft.question - next section has a y/n question about oem - don't know what that is.
Leaking really bad up under the passenger side dash and having problems with the brakes.
New brakes installed from dealer prior to purchase of this used car in may of 2008. In sept 2008, (about 5k miles later) unable to stop vehicle at 45 mph - hit guardrail causing neck injury and property damage. Was determined by bodyshop that brakes failed due to leaking rear compressor, which soaked brake pads. Completely replaced rear components at time of accident repair n oct 2008. Have only driven about 20,000 miles since then ...in june 2010, same situation occurred with rear compressors leaking, resulting in no brake fluid whatsoever.entire front and rear brakesand complete rear brake components/system have just been replaced june 2010.
Complete brake system failure. After neon sat for approx 36 hours parked it was driven at hwy speeds for approx 12 miles and brake pedal would travel without effort to floor. Using a combination of engine braking and hand brake i was able to come to a stop after pumping pedal normal braking would occur. It has been to the dealer four times now with air in the lines for no apparent reason. After a master cylinder was replaced it seemed normal only to have the pedal travel to the floor once again. Dealer now states unable to duplicate. I bought the car new and only have 8k miles on it.

The car is only 5 yrs. Old but the dashboard is cracked.
The sunroof has been stuck due to faulty parts and this has been a chronic problem with the majority of srt4 owners.

The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. While the vehicle was parked in inclement weather, the contact noticed water on the front and rear passenger side floorboards and the trunk. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.
My 2005 dodge neon leakedreal badly, therewere huge puddles on the floor and the trunk and under back seats, but i have no idea where the waterwas leaking in from.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated after rainy weather conditions an excessive accumulation of water was on the front passenger side floorboard. The water seeped through the passenger side front door seal and two inches of water was consumed in the trunk. The water was extracted and both pieces of carpet were removed due to potential mold growth. The failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified on two occasions regarding the continuous water leakage defect; however, they were unable to provide assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated thatwater would enter from the side of the vehicle near the glove compartment when it would rain. The failure caused the frame to become rusted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that there was debris in the evaporator drain. The drain was cleared and the windshield was replaced but did not rectify the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 62,000.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated that water would leak through the trunk seal and into the tire well whenever it would rain. The water would then flow into the rear seat of the vehicle, causing a small to moderate flood. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 55,100.
Because rain season here in mexico we had several days raining almost the entire day.yesterday when a take mi wife to work i noticed that the rug of my cars floor was wet, at night after work i tried to check why the water was inside my car and i noticed that below the back seat was wet, i disassemble the back seat and notice that there was water below the seat and due to that all the floor below the rug has water (1 to 2 liters of water), i notice that the clips that give route to the harness (tail lights, pump, and trunk wiring) has water, it seems that this could be the problem; from factory nobody try to seal this parts, so water came through this by the holes made to locate the clips.i take my car to the service from factory and tell me that they will check it.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact stated that the rear passenger door had a defective seal that allowed moisture to seep into the vehicle. The moisture traveled throughout the floor of the vehicle and caused the floor to decay. The contact stated that the decay caused a hole in the driver's side floorboard. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000. The vin was unknown.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.the contact stated that the corners on both front doors were abnormally sharp.on two occasions, an occupant on the front passenger side was cut on her face when attempting to enter the vehicle.the vehicle has not been inspected to determine the cause of the failure.the failure mileage was 11,000 and current mileage was 50,000. I own a 2005 dodge neon (chrysler) and the paint is coming off the car. The dealership says i have to pay for the fix when it is a fact that the vehicle has never been in an accident/collision. How/why would a two year old car loose its paint so fast. What i need to know is if this vehicle was ever recalled. The dealership is so busy trying to protect itself that it did not research any or all recalls on this vehicle.

Lower control arm bushings separated from their housing at 38,081 miles on both sides of vehicle.inspection revealed vehicle is unsafe to drive.dealer says he has replaced these failed parts on many dodge neon vehicles.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.the vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for an alignment when she was informed that the front control arm bushings were defective and the bush rings would need to be replaced. The winter potholes in the chicago heights area caused me to have damage done to my vehicles rims, and tires. Three rims had to be replaced and 4 tires had to be replaced also. I just found out about being compensated for the damage of my vehicle.
Purchased 05 neon in '06 w/16,000 miles. Tires were already in bad shape. Current incident occurred while accelerated on entry ramp to freeway.once on freeway notice vehicle was accelerating on its own. Attempted to apply brakes and they would not engage.i assumed brakes had failed. Finally after a terrified exit from the freeway, i was finally able to come to a stop my eventually entering a vacant graveled, uneven lot and driving atop concrete blocks.my terrified passenger and i put in park, turned off the ignition and jumped out of the car.when aaa arrived, he said my gas pedal had stuck.the car was towed to my home.when a mechanic friend checked it out he found the air throttle control value was shot. Without that, the engine will not idle properly. I am still in the process of getting this fixed.the part had to be ordered. I am not sure if that is the only problem. There was no property damage.my front driver's side tire and rim were destroyed.

The ac unit leaks into the environment needing to be filled yearly. We paid a dealer to repair the ac and it all leaked out again. They refilled once again and said to bring it back every year to have it refilled again. So far it has all leaked out 3 times now.
I purchase a 2005 dodge neon in june. Chrysler dealer zanetti sent a notice of a recall for my car. The dealer does not service my vehicle nor did i purchase it there in the bronx, ny. When checking with nhtsa database and the local dealer in white plains, there is no such recall number "cjd021210". These types of notifications are ficticious and should not be used to solicit customers for their gains.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon. The contact was driving 65 mph and engaged the cruise control. Suddenly, the vehicle began to accelerate rapidly to speeds of 95 mph. The contact shifted into a lower gear in order to get the vehicle to stop. The fire department was called to assist the contact. The fire department advised that the throttle had become stuck open and caused the failure. The vehicle had not been inspected by the dealer nor repaired.the vin was not available. The failure and the current mileage was 122,000.
The contact owns a 2005 dodge neon.the contact stated while stopped at a stop sign the vehicle would lung forward without the acceleration pedal being pushed.this has happened eight times.the contact has never taken the vehicle to a dealer to have the vehicle diagnose.the contact feels the vehicle has the same issue as the toyota sticky pedal recall. Failure mileage was 35,000.
The 2nd time in two years that i have had to replace the cam shaft position sensor . The check engine light comes on and there is no power in acceleration.
I shifted my car into reverse and it accelerated by itself. Shifted into neutral and could not stop crashed thru my neighbors garage door. There s no check engine light and could not stop when applying the brakes even in neutral. I checked and there was nothing under or blocking the gas pedal. No mats in car.
I was driving along interstate 480 and deployed cruise control on my neon at 60 mph. I had to slow down briefly, and then engaged the "accelerate" option on cruise control to speed back up. The car immediately revved up towards a much higher speed and i had to quickly shut off cruise control. I have seen other reports of this same incidence, and am surprised nothing has been done about it. I am a freelance writer with a huge network of friends. I would hate to have to write a bad review of my experience, and call out dodge for not fixing what i would think is a very serious, possibly deadly, problem. Thank you.
While having the cruise control on, the engine will all of a sudden race/accelerate beyond what it should.
