One month after purchasing the 2017 dodge journey the airbag light came on while driving the vehicle. Took the vehicle to a certified dodge dealer and they informed us that the airbag wireing harness located under the drivers front seat was faulty. The told us the airvagwireing harness is not covered under any warranty and that the new replacement airbag wireing harness would cost around $800. The airbag light still goes on & off randomly while the vehicle is being driven. It doesn't matter if it is being driven straight or on curves or turning. It just randomly comes on when the vehicle is being driven.
I was driving straight when the vehicle 2 cars ahead of me slammed on their brakes at a green light. I rear ended the car in front of me going approximately 45mph head on, causing major front end damage. Neither of the front airbags deployed. The car was totaled.
There bag light has come on at about 35,000 miles and has not went off. The a/c and heat keeps coming on whenever it wants no matter how many times i turn it off i have went up to dodge multiple times and nothing has happened as i am over the 30,000 miles and to be charged 200 just to see what the problem is and then charge me even to fix it is ridiculous. The airbag light came on while i was driving and i pulled over and turned the car and turned it back on and it was still on
Other driver ran red light causing me to hit them at an intersection. I was traveling 40mph. My air bags did not deploy. Front of my vehicle was totaled.*dt*dt

My traction light and abs light is on and the cruise control will not work.also the airbag light is on.the mechanic checked the codes but nothing is showing up.
The airbag light continues to come on while driving or once the car is started. It will stay on for a few days and then go off. When it comes on while the car is driving it will ding and stay on for days. The air conditioner/ heater jumps on and off while driving. It will be off and automatically jump on.i will turn it off and then it will jump on again. These issues were "fixed" by a dodge dealership in may and are still reoccurring.
This is the second dodge journey now that i have owned and both of them have electrical problems with the back tail lights as well as the rear windshield wipers left tail light and both of my vehicles. Also with my second dodge journey with both of the cars i have transmission problems as well and i also have airbag warning always going off of my card when i make turns. So what the transmission it spiders as you are driving i have taken it to a dealership and it said that there is three recalls but for some reason on your website it shows no recalls also what the windshield wipers in the rear only i put it at my car in reverse and all sudden they turn on by themselves and they'll stay on and don't want to turn off until it feels like turning off but my left tail light does not work at all i've had the vehicle now for two years and i've had to switch about 12 lights and now to where none will not work at all and for the airbag warning system no one will be sitting in my passenger seat and when i'm making a turn all of sudden my airbag alarm will be going off.

The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. When attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle would not crank; however, the electrical components were operable. The contact mentioned that the vehicle would not start unless it was jumpstarted. The vehicle was taken to atlanta west chrysler dodge jeep ram (1251 thornton rd, lithia springs, ga 30122, (770) 942-1102), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The failure continued and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The contact was informed that the battery failed two out of the three times it was tested. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 21,000.
The steering locks up like it's power steering but it's not i lose all control of acceleration the only way to regain control is to put the car in park turn it off turn it back on sometimes it doesn't want to start right back up this has happened four times while my kids are in the car and while in motion and the dealership can't find anything wrong with it all they do is update the computer.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle's bluetooth failed to operate correctly. Upon reaching his destination, the contact parked, turned off, and exited the vehicle. Upon returning to the vehicle several hours later, it failed to start. The contact stated that the vehicle had to be restarted using battery booster cables. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred three weeks later. The vehicle was taken to sterling heights dodge (40111 van dyke ave, sterling heights, mi 48313), but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed that the dealer was aware of the failure, which was due to the manufacturer receiving defective batteries from china. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that they could not assist because the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
There have been several occasions where my headlights and tail lights have went out while i was driving and i got pulled over the other night for no headlights or tail lights for it being a hazard. I work night shifts and i need my headlights and tail lights unless i am in a dimly light area and i dont know of they are on or not and i dont get no warning of when they are off. That is why im filing this complaint.
After 65,500 miles, my two year old dodge journey has a catastrophic failure. The hydraulic pump blew and caused complete damage to the transmission costing me $3500 to get the complete transmission rebuilt. It's ridiculous this is happening to a 2 year old car with only 65k miles on it
Went to get in car didn't open, had to use the key, tried to start the car it didn't ,had to use the key, put the car in reverse as we were backing up and all of the sudden the car went forward and ran into a concrete pillar in a parking garage, the car was parked

First it was all the lights on my dashboard would stay on. My usb and charging ports would go out. Every once in while my digital speedometer would randomly start doubling my speed. I took it in to the dealership. They apparently replaced the part needed. That seemed to fix that problem at least for now. But now the speedometer here and there will act up again. When it does , it's almost as if the engine is working against me to go. It feels like ittriesto stop me when i am pressing the gas to go. It does not do this all the time. But it is more frequent than usual. We just purchased this vehicle a little less than two years ago. It started off with minor things , but now seems to be turning for the worse. I am concerned of it go out all together completely.dealership we went to made it seem like it was nothing. But being a daily driving i know otherwise.
I had my journey parked in the driveway, grabbed my purse and my daughter and, headed out to run errands.i drove to my destination, turned off the car and went to lock it from the outside door handle.there were no beeps and the doors wouldn't lock.i checked my purse and the entire inside of the car, no key fobs were found.i got in the car and it started up again.afraid to leave the car in the parking lot, i called my husband who confirmed that both my set of car keys and his set of car keys were at home on the key hook.i'm extremely puzzled as to how my car started without the key fob, let me drive it without warning me there was no key fob in the car, and then let me restart it several times without the key fob.we just purchased this car used a month ago, and the sales person gave us both key fobs.i tore the car apart, glove box, center console under seats, everywhere and no other key fob has been found.my husband brought me my car keys and i stood 20 feet away and the car still started without the fob in the car.

Abs light and cruise control stay on and it not working. Doing my research there is a cruise control recall for 2014 and 2018, but our car was never recall.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving 30 mph, the steering seized without warning. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to earnhardt chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 1521 e drivers way, gilbert, az 85297, (480) 926-4000) where it was diagnosed that the map sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
While i was driving on the freeway, a red battery image displayed on the menu center screen.next day had it checked, was told all was fine, everythingcheck out..a week later was on freewayagain, headlights flicked, radio went dead(display &sound) twice, engine boggeddown briefly. Car is in shop now..two days.and no accurate diagnosis..this is obviously a well-documented problem with this model of vehicle..has this caused death? will it lead to death, yes,is there help for the consumers?? i'm aware of numerous electronical problems with these and other dodge vehicles. As i have owned one in the past with a similar problem. That cost me thousands , and could not be fixed, even by a tech from corporate out of state..now with my current situation how can i be confident on the road? also why, when the dealership know(for a fact) theirvehicles have these issues. They charge a $180.00 diagnostic fee, that can not be applied to repair..unfair and criminal to put vehicles on the roadthey know are faulty..faulty as in electronic issues that no one can pinpoint..and it appearsthat if they throw enough parts at it, maybe that will work...these issues must stop!!
My 2017 dodge journey keeps going through batteries. 1st one at april 2018. 2nd one jan 2020. Dealership just keeps put batteries in . Not fixing problem. On dodge forum other people are having same problems.
Sitting or driving ac not coolingsitting or driving gas level drastically dropping to zero then spike mte, taken to dealership multiple times and not duplicated. Drove this morning and mte spiked and zeroed out again while driving. Transmission shifting hard and grinding noisesoverall electrical issues based on dealership explanation and issues could not be duplicated. Car still experiencing issues of the following even after update per dealership: transmissionfuel electricalair conditioning ongoing issues, no resoution
My air keeps coming back on , not matter how many times that i turn it off. It comes back on by itself. The transmission slips and jerks on the back roads, highway and interstate. My husband has called jim cogdill dodge and keeps getting the run around about the situations. The air is an electrical issue which can cause a fire if left like it is. I was told by the salesman that he would get back to me in a couple of days. That is not professional and is very dangerous for everyone in my vehicle.
My 2017 journey was manufactured in august of 2016 dodge has a recall for journeys for crankshaft position sensors for journeys that were made from may of 2016 to july 2016 my car has been stalling out since 40,000 miles and the problem is getting worse upon research this may be the crankshaft position sensor and there have been multiple complants online stating others cars have had issues with this sensor but dodge only did a limited recall on these vehicles. My car jerks 3-4 times when in reverse then stalls out or it jerks 3-4 times and stalls at stop lights or signs. Other online complaints ive seen state that people have had issues with it also stopping mid driving at high speeds.

Vehicle randomly started flashing messages on screen, wind shield wipers turned on, all lights on dash were going on and off, engine failed and breaks quit working completely, turn signals and horn also started going off. All indications that computer lost connection with vehicle temporarily. There has also been another issue since the vehicle was purchased new in 2016 where during sharp turns the front tires makes a very loud grinding noise. We were told by the dealer they couldn't find what was wrong and to wait for recall. Where is the recall? vehicle was stationary and in motion with the computer issue. Vehicle was in motion with steering issue.
My wife went to start the journey, car won't start brakes won't press down all i hear is clicking sound like the car wants to start but won't, look for help online what i get is that it's a security issue that has the car locked tried to over ride by disconnecting the positive cable to reset but nothing, i understand that this is a common problem with dodge vehicles
Several lights came on the dashboard including the electronic traction control and the electronic throttle control causing the vehicle to completely stoleon the freeway with no powerand could only go 25 mph. This along with repeatedly accelerating as i was trying to stop caused nearly an accident .
Vehicle makes a ticking noise while playing the radio and or driving on the freeway and going over 60 mph. There is also loud banging noise on the driver side passenger seat as if air or something is hitting the vehicle. Tired don't hold pressure and driving at times seems uneven or off track as well.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that there was a delay when the push to star function was used. Also, there was an issue with the brakes when the brake pedal was depressed, and the cruise control failed to function. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The dealer (goldy chrysler dodge jeep ram, 187 kinetic dr., huntington, wv 25701) stated that they would schedule an appointment for the recall repair on june 27, 2018. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that the horn was not audible when pressing the center of the steering wheel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 3,000.

While i was driving on a highway, the check engine light and traction control/stability light came on. You could feel the car loosen up, and the engine sound like it was misfiring or skipping. The car did not lose power, and ran fine the next time i drove it. However, it has happened a few more times. I have an appointment with the dealership, so we will see what they say. I did see that the 2012-2015 models underwent a recall for something similar. Maybe it is that same issue on this model. Also, a few months back i was driving when the bolts holding the serpentine belt (don't know the exact name of the system) broke off. The car overheated and completely shut down. They used short 8mm bolts to hold up the system and they failed. Dealership or chrysler would not cover costs of around $175 to fix, with no assurance that a longer 8mm bolt would hold up long term. The car has less then 50k miles on it.
Cruse control keep sticking, and my air bag light keep coming on, not sure if it going to explore.

Rocker arms are loose needing replaced. Transmission is almost locked up.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey crossroad. The contact stated that while approaching an intersection stop sign and making a left turn the check engine and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road shifted the vehicle to park, turned the vehicle off and back on and the vehicle performed as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer woody folsom chrysler dodge jeep ram 1859 golden isles w, baxley, ga 31513, (888) 283-8230 where it was diagnosed that the tcm and pcm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) as a possible solution to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
While driving at aprox 25 mph on a slight bend in the road and slightly accelerating, i realized my engine had died when it stopped accelerating.electrical was still working, but the engine had shut off.i was able to coast to the side of the road, turn on my hazards, and put the vehicle in park.i waited about 20 seconds, then attempted to turn the engine back on.the engine started with no trouble and with no further incidence.
Engine light appeared on the dash and i immediately noticed that the car was hesitating and felt as it was losing power while accelerating. I then took it into an auto repair shop and was informed that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced and was over $800 in repairs. While researching online, i came across a recall for the same exact issue on the 2011-2016 series of the dodge journeys. I feel as if the 2017 series should be included as well.
I was driving on briarcliff rd and my car cut off while it was on (run) it was in motion. Everything locked. The brakes, gas the steering wheel. I sat there i almost was hit. I kept trying to press the gas and brakes but it wouldn'tpush down. I could not believe it i was scared and panicked. I then cut the car off and it cut on i immediately started driving toward home.
This is a continuation of 11243797. For background, the 2017 doge journey has been stalling intermittently starting at 23,000 miles most of the time not throwing a code. The dealership couldn't recreate the problem and without a code could not fix without a code. We endured 7,000 miles and 100's of stalls (stop and go traffic, highway, left turns in front of on-coming traffic) before a code was thrown indicating crankshaft position sensor. Upon inspection the dealer technician noted that the connector to the sensor did not fit the sensor.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated she noticed oil on the ground underneath the engine compartment of the vehicle. The contact stated that oil was added every two days due to the oil leak. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was diagnosed with an oil filter housing failure which needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact informed the dealer parks motors (11987 us-54, augusta, ks 67010) and the manufacturer of the failure but was informed by both parties that the adapter for the engine oil filter was on back order with an unknown estimated time of arrival. The failure mileage was 93,000.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving 80 mph, the vehicle decelerated and almost crashed in the middle of rush hour traffic. The vehicle came to a stop and lost power twelve times. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to walker jones jeep, dodge, ram (2730 memorial dr, waycross, ga 31503, (912) 584-1166) where the vehicle was diagnosed, but the codes could not be read. The vehicle was repaired over three times, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 32,543.
This is a follow-up to 11244334 and 11243797. For background, the 2017 journey began stalling intermittently and not throwing a code (starting at about 23,500 miles). The stalling occurred during all driving conditions and speeds. The dealership could not reproduce the event and told me to drive until it throws a code. After 6,000 miles and hundreds of stalls the vehicle finally threw a code, (29,500 miles, p0335 crankshaft position sensor). The sensor replaced, connector did not fit sensor well so it was replaced (subject of complaint 11244334). Thought it was fixed, and three days later, it stalled again on the highway. Only this time the traction light came on and brakes did not work intermittently. Back at the dealership, the technician in his frustration and opened the wiring harness. What he found about 8 inches from the connector was "crank shaft position wires cut and twisted together..." the service advisor asked who else was in there. I bought the vehicle new at the dealership and they have done all work and maintenance meaning this issue was in production.
Several lights came on the dashboard including the electronic traction control and the electronic throttle control causing the vehicle to completely stoleon the freeway with no powerand could only go 25 mph. This along with repeatedly accelerating as i was trying to stop caused nearly an accident .

2017 dodge journey oil filter housing leak. Vehicle is persistent leaking oil. Chrysler dodge dealerclaims there are 40,000 orders for this part in waiting and that the timetable for getting a replacement part is indefinite. Their suggestion is to keep refilling with oil for the foreseeable future. They state the part may eventually be a recalledbut is not yet. I find it hard to believe with so many known problems that it's not been recalled already. Additionally it's a $700 repair for a known issue.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving approximately 70 mph, the contact decelerated while approaching a red light and the vehicle beganto hesitate. The vehicle was driven approximately four miles and, upon approaching another red light, the vehicle began hesitating again. The vehicle was taken to telegraph chrysler dodge jeep ram (12000 telegraph road, taylor, michigan 48180) where it was diagnosed that freon was not added to the engine at the assembly line. The vehicle was repaired. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was taken to dick scott chrysler dodge jeep ram (684 w ann arbor road, plymouth, michigan 48170) for a transmission leak and missing gaskets in the drive shaft. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
This was a rental car from avis. While driving at approx 70mph with the cruise control engaged, the windshield wipers came on by themselves, all dial instruments went to zero and all the electronic alerts (oil, over heat, tire pressure, etc) annunciated. The throttle remained locked at the cruise setting and would not disengage with activation of the brakes or cruise control button. I was able to over power the engine with the brakes and get the car to the side of the road.it was still running at an engine speed to support 70mph and fighting the brakes. The push to start/stop engine control would not work. I eventually got the car into just rap and then park. At this time, it would not turn over. A weaker person would most certainly been involved in a bad accident. I was concerned the car would catch on fire as the brakes smoked significantly. The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that the push button start feature hesitated upon pushing the button. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle andresume driving; however, the failure continued. During the most recent failure, the contact stated that smoke appeared from the engine. The contact and the passengers exited the vehicle as it shut off on its own. The vehicle was first towed to the contact's home and then to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed with a defective starter, which was replaced. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the transmission temperature gauge indicated that it was too hot to start. The contact stated that it could take ten to thirty minutes for the vehicle to cool down. The contact stated that the failure occurred five times intermittently. The vehicle was taken to smoky mountain chrysler dodge jeep ram (556 highlands rd, franklin, nc 28734, (828) 369-5003), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled and was taken to the same dealer; however, a failure code could not be located. The dealer performed a flash to the system, but the vehicle was not repaired. The stalling failure occurred once. 2017 dodge journey sxt is stalling out at various speeds causing extreme safety hazard to those on board and other motorists.this is an ongoing issue that has been addressed at least 6 - 7 times now only to continue.dodge knows something but has refused to come forward with a recall.
The 2017 dodge journey stalls intermittently at all speeds and driving conditions. Stop and go in traffic, accelerating on the highway, coasting up a hill, starting from a stop in an intersection. Usually no codes are thrown. Recently the p0335 code was thrown, crankshaft speed sensor was replaced. Did not fix the problem. The 2016 journey's were recalled for the same issue. Are the 2017's not worthy of a recall or does someone have to die first?
The contact owned a 2017 dodge journey. While driving at an unknown speed, an abnormal noise was heard and smoke appeared from the front end of the vehicle. The contact coasted over to the side of the road and the occupants exited the vehicle. Afterwards, the vehicle burst into flames and burned to the ground. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow lot. The cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.
While driving on a highway the speed of traffic was increasing but after stepping on the accelerator several times i discovered the vehicle was not responding. The engine had died with no warning lights displayed. I lost power steering and power brakes. Once i got the vehicle stopped i put it in park, stepped on the brake and pushed the ignition button and the vehicle started. The vehicle is about six months old with around 10,000 miles. The next morning we took it straight to the dealership but because there were no warning lights or codes displayed they said there was nothing they could do.

I was driving with the cruise control on and the vehicle kept trying to speed itself back up and the car kept slowing down i noticed the car was on fire in the back of the car so i pulled over turned the car off jumped out walked to a safe distance called the police while on the phone with them the car catches fire and burned down.
During use of the vehicle, whether stationary or in motion, the "gas cap light" will come on followed by "check engine light". When this happens the code p0456 will cause the car to act indifferent, it is still drivable, but can cause other components to show a false reading. This issue has happened 4 times in the past 2 months, and every time we go to the dealership the check engine light will disappear. We have checked the gas cap, and this vehicle is under 17,000 miles. This seems to be a common issue with dodge, jeep, and chrysler vehicles, and this should be handled by the manufacturer. Treat this known issue as a recall, and improve upon your evaporative emission system.

Gas tank is leaking. No damage has been done to vehicle no off road only driven on highways. The car developed a gas smell no visual leak until 2 days later i put $40 in gas and i get home and when i come back out there a big stain in the drivewaystrong gas smell i look under the vehicle i see the gas tank has visual wet marks. And i can literally watch gas just roll down the tank and drip from where the filler hose meets the gas tank, i wipe the tank with a rag where the filler hose meets the body of the tank i see it just continue to pour gas out. There is no breaks in any hoses no visual crack i notice, may be a seal i cant tell.

My dodge journey had transmission failure along with the gas tank not being able to fill up to the f. My car jerked to move forward and the gas pedal would not cause the car to move forward. I brought the car to a dodge dealership and they took about a week and a half to fix it. Here i am one week later having the same issue and needing to bring it back to refix the issue. There is a lot of complaints on the internet about this same issue and having to have the same transmission issues return for fixing two to three times before the car is fixed right. This is a beautiful car but a transmission issue that needs several fixes before the car even reaches 1200000 miles to change transmission fluid is not a good look. The transmission need to be recalled and new transmissions should be given to people who own this brand of vehicle. I only have one car and need this vehicle to put food on my table for my family during a never ending pandemic at that. The transmission on these vehicles are not reliable even after fixing.
We were driving down a 55 mile per hour highway and getting ready to make a right hand turn onto a narrow bridge. We slow down before making the turn and as we proceeded the car shut down losing control of brakes and power steering. We were able to pull wheel enough from going offthe bridge.we were able to start it right backup after we got control and came to a stop, but it was one of the most scary experiences ever with a vehicle. Immediately made appt to have it looked at by dealership and they could not find anything to help us. They stated that dodge is aware that there is an issue with the car shutting down on a turn in temperatures above 105. That day the height was only 99.we did have the newest updated software when this occurred. I have contacted dodge directly and was told that there is nothing further they can do so next time it happens to pretty much call them and set up appt. With dealer.i am so irritated with the whole situation that now we just have to hope we don't wreck it next time it happens. We try not to drive it at all as we have 3 small children. Really hope dodge figures something out before it's too late!
The transmission is failing to shift. It shifts extremely hard and the reverse takes a few minutes to kick in or it doesn't work at all.sometimes the vehicle will not shift at all. There is a strange burning smell after going up a hill.my electronic throttle control sensor is already on and there is only 13000 miles on the vehicle. I purchased it in january and it's only may. I have the shifting issues while driving. When it does shift it's a sharp jerk. It's a constant problem. I no longer want the vehicle.

I noticed a vibration/hesitation around 40mph and took my car to the local pischke shop and they performed a reprogramming of the powertrain control module to the latest software.unfortunately that reprogramming did not fix the problem and i was told to reach out to chrysler directly.
My son was driving home and the car started jerking then suddenly stopped. No prior indication that there was a problem. Had car towed to mechanic & was told transmission is hot. $2100 to repair.

Vehicle randomly started jerking and losing power as i drove home on the highway. Got it checked and said it was cam shaft position sensor bank 1. Got both sensors changed and did a relearn. After 24 hours it did it again. Dont know if it is wiring or computer problem...still giving same code when checked.
The transmission take off but it has sluggish in the transmission, and when slowing down the cvt seen like it not corresponding with it parts of changing. I'm assuming all the 2017 dodge journey has that problem but not reported.. My dodge journey sxt v6the transmission for the 2017 dodge journey sxt v6 needs to look at for service for major problem occurred in the future.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, thegear shifter was easily moving independently. The failure recurred four times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000. The vin was not provided.
It has happened to me twice since i got the car that i was unable to buckle up. The seat belt was locked and i could not pull it so that i could buckle myself ... Kind of scary when your driving without a seat belt. I tried opening the door closing it turning on and off the car putting it in park etc in different patterns nothing worked ... I had no choice i had to drive to pick up my kids after leaving work
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. The contact stated that the seat belt on the front passenger's side failed to securely latch. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer napleton's river oaks chrysler dodge jeep ram (17225 torrence ave, lansing, il 60438, (708) 782-4768) where it was diagnosed with needing the seat belt buckle assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired.
Fianc leaning on seat from middle row and driver seat headrest deployed and separated, while vehicle was in park
My horn randomly blows while parked. Vehicle is in park and the doors are shut and locked. No one around the vehicle. It has happened 4 times today. Once i get out to the vehicle to investigate the problem the horn stops blowing on its own. When it happens numerous times or continuously it runs the battery down.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving approximately between 62-74 mph, the vehicle shook and a loud noise was heard underneath the vehicle. Also, while driving, thevehicle's rear end tended to sway towards the right. The contact stated that the vehicle's driver's seat failed to lock in the desired position. The contact took the vehicle to direct chrysler dodge (located at 495 w lee hwy, wytheville, va 24382, 276-521-2620) where a front and rear wheel alignment was performed. The dealer also replaced the driver's seat and latch, struts, and sway bar. The contact stated that the noise from underneath the vehicle remained, the shaking persisted, and the seat still failed to lock in place. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000. The vin was unavailable.
After reclining the seat, the passenger's side headrest deployed. At the time the vehicle was stationary in a parking lot. Notsure why that happened. Don't know what to do about this, take it to the dealer or what. Is there a recall on the headrests?
We were driving my car last night and all of a sudden there was a big pop sound and my husband got hit in the back of the head with the headrest. I guess what had happened was the headrest deployed out of the blue for no reason.

To whom it may concern,i left my home and was heading to work when someone ran a stop sign. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid being t-boned. The brakes worked at first, then the peddle pulsed and went to the floor board. I pulled over and looked for brake fluid leaking under the vehicle. After not seeing any, i tried pumping the brakes and the peddle kind of started working again, but if you keep pressure on the peddle, it will go to the floor board. When you drive it, the brakes barley respond for the first 1.5" to 2" of movement, then most of the braking is in the next 1" to 1.5" of movement. As you sit at a stop applying pressure. The peddle will go the floor board. You can pump it up to firm, with the vehicle in the off position, but after you start it, the peddle becomes soft and as stated before, goes to the floor board. 2 different dealerships have said this is normal, the brakes did not do this before having to slam on them. It does not feel safe to drive. After doing some research, it seems that the 2018 dodge journey is already being recalled for a similar problem.thank you for time.
I just became aware that a recall was made for my vehicle, a 2017 dodge journey. Last year i had an accident in norristown, pa after my car failed to stop or slow down while attempting to turn left with cruise control activated on a city street. My vehicle went up a hill, over a couple of fences, before stopping against a tree. A few inches further right and my 17 year old daughter might have been badly hurt or killed. My car had body damage, the bumper torn off, the passenger doors damaged, the radiator and ac damaged (ac still doesn't work), and i needed to have the condenser replaced. I knew the car had malfunctioned, but never received any calls or letters about any recalls despite buying the car brand new.
Just left my drive way not from from it about to turn on another road when my car steering went out the dash was froze and when i went to use the brakes i couldn't. I was glad i was only going 13mph and didn't have to turn and no one was around me. My kids were in the car with me we rolled to a slow stop. I then turned the push button off then i turned the car back on and it acted fine. That's is dangerous. It could have ended badly. I just bought this car and now i don't even want it anymore. To scared to drive it.
The abs light and the traction control lights have been on my car continuously. At first they would come on intermittently during a ride and then stay on. But now, they are on during almost every ride during startup.
My traction light and abs light is on and the cruise control will not work.also the airbag light is on.the mechanic checked the codes but nothing is showing up.
On july 17th 2019. I was gaining speed on an entrance ramp to highway 95n in stafford, va. As i approached 60 mph the suv's steering wheel locked up on me and i couldn't turn the wheel. I tried the brakes and the brakes wouldn't work they were hard and would not push down. I let it slow itself down and made it to the side of 95n. I then put the suvin park with hazards on. I exited the suv to check for any damage and or indications of what caused the svu to lock up while driving. There was no sign of anything that i could see. I returned to the driver's seat restarted the suv. After noticing that the radio was on but not sure if the truck was on. So i restarted it to be sure the engine was running. I drove it home, 10 minutes down the highway at 50 mph and called the lustine dealership and had it towed to them. I can say that the weather was 98 degrees real feel at 110. This was around 2 in the afternoon. Thelustine dealership had my suv from then until july 22nd. They put over 100 miles on my suv and said they couldn't duplicate the issue. They told me to just wait and see if it does it again. After having the problem and giving them the suv i looked on here and saw a suv with the same exact experience. I told thelustine dealership and gave them an email with this information and they didn't even bother to contact the other dealership listed in the complaint on here. Which did find out the cause. Lustine had my suv when i gave them the information about the other suv. Also my suv had about 26485 when is happened. The lustine dealership didn't even put on my paper work they couldn't duplicate the problem or where in took place.
I was in park waiting for a spot to open up in a school parking lot, took my vehicle out of park and proceeded to put in drive and move 20 feet or so to the parking spot, as i was turning into the spot i engaged the brake to come to a complete stop but my pedal did not work, it did not spring back like it is suppose to and my vehicle did not stop and a concrete parking pillar stopped my vehicle for me. I threw it into park and jumped out because smoke was pouring from my hood to see the damage and when i jumped back in to the car to shut it off i realized my car wasn't running and all the lights came across the dash. I restarted the car and the brake pedal pumped like nothing was wrong. $6,000.00 worth of damage later and still being worked on and no answers to why my brakes failed me.
The car has 35,095 miles on it and makes a grinding noise when it's slowing down from speeds of 25 mph to 35 mph and comes to a shaky stop. Then when at speeds of 50 mph plus it shakes and grindes even louder. I see that it's a rescue ring issue for this vehicle

On monday, august 16, 2021, i was driving towards a busy intersection when my steering wheel was all of a sudden unable to turn in either direction. I stopped the vehicle before merging on the busy intersection, which my next destination was i-80. My safety was very much at risk due to this as if it would have failed on i-80, myself or my children could have been severely injured as well as other drivers. I had the vehicle towed to a local dealership (greenway motors) and they inspected the vehicle and initially found that the power steering pump was broken and there was metal debris that would need to be flushed but that when they start the repair, more than likely the debris would also be in the steering gears. They said the vehicle was no longer under a warranty for this issue. Based on their inspection, the cost they stated for the repair i could not afford so i contacted an auto repair shop locally (ewerts). I had the vehicle towed to that location on tuesday, august 17, 2021. Ewerts informed me that when replacing the power steering pump and flushing the lines, they did find metal debris also in the steering gears. The vehicle is currently still in repair at ewerts. The estimated repair cost is now roughly $1,600.00there were no warning lights or messages on the vehicle prior to this incident.
I have had 3 incidents, with the latest on 12/23 when during a rapid breaking to avoid collision as a vehicle did illegal lane change in front of me, my wallet, which i had on top of the middle compartment, pushed the clutch and changed the gear to reverse and my car went backwards almost colliding with a vehicle behind me. On other incident on thanksgiving day in 2017i was making an u-turn when i had to break for a car which turned right sharply and my small purse flew and switch the gear to neutral and i was pressing the gas pedal and trying to get out of the way of incoming traffic and couldn't understand right away that the car's gear has been pushed to neutral and that's is why i couldn't move the vehicle. The clutch has no lock button and when pushed with even two fingers it switches the gears, so any small object during a quick or sadden breaking can cause the gear to switch to reverse or neutral.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving 60 mph, the steering wheel seized and became difficult to turn. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was later towed to merrick dodge chrysler jeep of wantagh (located at 3614 sunrise hwy, suite b, wantagh, ny 11793, (516) 868-440) where it was diagnosed that the computer needed to be recalibrated, the rack and pinion needed to be replaced, the power steering hose needed to be flushed and a wheel alignment was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 59297663. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.
My dodge journey 2017 has a steering problem. I was driving home from the market when my steering wheel stiffed up when i was trying to make a left. It was very hard to make a left turn and then i try to make it go straight and it was hard to even it out, as well as trying to make a right turn.

Rocker arms are loose needing replaced. Transmission is almost locked up.

I was driving with the cruise control on and the vehicle kept trying to speed itself back up and the car kept slowing down i noticed the car was on fire in the back of the car so i pulled over turned the car off jumped out walked to a safe distance called the police while on the phone with them the car catches fire and burned down.
Body control model was faulty and made lights flickering witch makes it hard to see at night took it in to dealer they said nothing was wrong about little less than a year later i took it back ib because it became more frequent then they said yeah its definitely flickering and said the bcm was faulty and needed to be updated..
The vehicle is stalling intermittently while traveling slow in intersections (left turn or straight), roundabouts, slowing in traffic. No dtc codes are thrown. As the issue is intermittent, undable to duplicate on request.
The abs light and the traction control lights have been on my car continuously. At first they would come on intermittently during a ride and then stay on. But now, they are on during almost every ride during startup.
I can be driving or parked and the a/c keeps coming on every time i shut it off it comes back on. I have only had this vehicle since feb. 14, 2018 and if this is going wrong now i am guessing the wiring in my dash is not good. We r talking about trading in and suggesting to our friends not to buy. I took a video. My email is [xxx]. It has happened for 5 days in a row.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Door locks won't lock
The main screen for uconnect went dark after turning on the car (parked). No radio, no a/c control, nothing in the center console would work. We live in fl and no a/c is a big problem, specially when you have a toddler and a baby. I went to my destination with the dead console. I went back in the car, this time everything was ok. I called fca and their answer was "go to a dealer and pay for a diagnostic, if there is a problem we'll refund you" i don't think that is correct when we are on warranty and when they know this is not an isolated issue. I found several cases of people going thru thesame, they suggest reboot, factory reset and other non-sense. Check this video (link) and you have evidence of several problem with this system. This also is being going on since at least 2012. Time for a recall on uconnect systems!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwhpsfiqv1w
Not vehicle specific.there is much concern over distracted driving.cars produced today can not be driven without viewing the dashboard video display.climate controls, radio, etc. Video display is constantly displaying information which requires driver to take eyes off the road.i believe backup cameras are useful, but should only display video when in reverse.cell phone distractions. Electronically disable cell phones while vehicle is moving. May signal an incoming call, but must stop vehicle to respond.
My traction light and abs light is on and the cruise control will not work.also the airbag light is on.the mechanic checked the codes but nothing is showing up.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving approximately 70 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated to approximately 100 mph. The contact was able to deactivate the cruise control and drove home. The following day, the vehicle was taken to yakima chrysler/jeep/dodge/ram (2300 goodman road, union gap, wa 98903) where they determined that the cruise control failed. The vehicle was repaired. Two days later, while driving approximately 70 mph, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was determined that the incorrect code was entered when the vehicle's computer was reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 11,063.
Cruise control sticks when using it on the highway and i have to press the cancel button multiple times to take it off while other times the cruise control won't work at all.
Abs light and cruise control stay on and it not working. Doing my research there is a cruise control recall for 2014 and 2018, but our car was never recall.
I just became aware that a recall was made for my vehicle, a 2017 dodge journey. Last year i had an accident in norristown, pa after my car failed to stop or slow down while attempting to turn left with cruise control activated on a city street.
While having my cruise control on i passed a semi going uphill. As soon as i got around it and back into the right lane it lost speed significantly. I pulled onto the shoulder and stopped. After about 30 seconds i pulled back onto the highway and built up my speed again. About 10-20 minutes later the exact same thing happened again. I did not feel safe passing anymore vehicles. I continued on home which was 2 1/2 hours away. Just 1 mile before getting home my engine light came on. All this happened on sunday july 22 about 1 pm. We had just purchased this dodge on july 17, 2017. Monday i went to the dealership where we had purchased it. They told me that there was a recall on the cruise control. When i looked up any recalls it doesn't show any. Is my dealer lying to me? are they hiding something i should know about?
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. While driving 70-75mph with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle slowed down to 35 mph. The vehicle was restarted and resumed normal operation. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was similar to what was listed in nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The failure mileage was 3,600.
We purchased a lease 2017 dodge journey gt on 1/10/2018. I currently have approx. 4300 miles on it.we had the cruise control recall taken care of, at a dealership on june 11, 2018. The first time i used the cruise control after getting the recall done, i was going 72mph on my way to work and my entire car shut down. No steering, no brakes, no radio, the interior lights on the dash were on, but nothing else. I was able to make it to the side of the road, the car wouldn't do anything for approx. 2-3 min, after that amount of time, i was able to get it started again, but did not drive it. I called my husband to bring me his vehicle so i could go to work. He drove it home and said there were no issues, but he didn't use the cruise. On june 18, 2018, the day after it happened. I took the car back to the dealership, they had my car for 6 hrs, drove 27 miles and found nothing. On july 5,2018 i was on my way home from work at approx 11pm, i was driving on our local turnpike and had the cruise control set at 72. The vehicle would not keep speed, it kept going down to 65mph then would rev 6-7rpm and get back up to 72.once i turned the cruise control off, the vehicle kept trying to speed up on its own. I was able to keep it from speeding up by applying the brake as i was driving. I am not comfortable driving this vehicle so, we try and use our other vehicle as much as possible but, we both work 50-56hrs a week. This vehicle is and has a safety issuethe issues with this car has nothing to do with my driving, the heat, the cold or anything, this is a major safety issue with the vehicle.
Nothing has happened yet rear window wipers don't completely go all the way causing a blindspot when you look out it. Driver cannot see passager side in rear window.
The front winshield wipers only work on high speed. When you shut off the wipers they stop wherever they want to. This is very dangerous for visibility purposes. High speed wipers are not always needed.
The contact owns a 2017 dodge journey. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear window was shattered as if there was forced entry or an individual had broken the glass. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 50.
I am sharing my experience regarding byers kia of lewis center and salesperson kyle cain.friends, on saturday, march 30, 2019 i purchased and financed a vehiclethrough byers kia on columbus pike in lewis center, ohio. Thevehicle was a 2017 dodge journey gt with approximately 42,000miles. The salesperson was kyle cain, and his manager as iunderstand it is bob pollock. The saturday i took possession of thevehicle it was raining heavily so i wasn't able to inspect the entirevehicle and did not get a close look at the front tire tread. I traded inmy 2016 chevy cruze lt along with bringing $4,500 to the table. Thenext day, sunday i was able to inspect the vehicle more thoroughlyand discovered that the front tires were both unsafe and unsatisfactory.monday morning, april 1, 2019 i contacted kyle cain and told him
