The contact then crashed into the preceding vehicle. The contact sustained cervical neck injuries and a bump to the head. The contact also suffered from numbness in both arms and severe pain in both legs. The injuries required medical attention. A police report was filed. In an accident where front and back end of the car were hit. Airbags deployed.manual says that knee airbag is just below steering column. Actual airbag deployed down by feet - directly in line with emergency brake pedal. Since drivers foot was on the brake, the airbag crushed the drivers foot against the brake pedal causing permanent damage to foot. Driver was going straight and in the process of stopping when hit in the rear causing driver to hit the car ahead. It was on a 4 lane city street. 4 cars involved in accident- all going straight at a light. 2 older cars with no airbags were able to drive away. They were the frontcars. Dodge journey was 3rd.driver of dodge journey was the only injury. Getting ready for 3rd surgery. This accident has caused a permanent disability. Driver will never walk normally again...updated 09/26/17 ...updated 10/03/17 updated 7/19/18
When airbags deployed, airbag at foot control panel (gas/brake) deploys moving feet off of brake pedal. This removes emergency control by operator to stop vehicle. Operator tried to stop at intersection after another car failed to yield/ slow down at intersection. After initial contact airbags deployed and vehicle traveled another 50yards until coming to stop in ditch. The lower operator airbag impeded the use of brakes by the operator. Had there been more traffic it would have caused more accidents.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the passenger side headrest air bag inadvertently deployed without warning or impact. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (sunland park dodge chrysler jeep ram, 950 crockett st, el paso, tx 79922) and stated that the contact would have to pay for the vehicle to be diagnosed and repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.
My daughter and i were driving on a smooth street, when suddenly the passenger side headrest popped forward. It struck my daughter in the back of the head quite hard causing her to have a sore neck, and possibly need medical attention if it is not better in a day or so.this is completely unacceptable.in the long line of problems with this vehicle and numerous recalls, there is now an injury. I feel like i have to worry about my driver side headrest doing the same while i am driving. This car is literally falling apart. As a life long dodge owner, i don't think i could ever buy another.
The contact owned a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the dealer repaired the vehicle per nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control and service brakes, hydraulic). After the repair, there was a loss of vehicle stability and no traction while driving on the highway during inclement weather. The contact felt as if the recall remedy failed to provide a solution, which resulted in a crash. While driving approximately 65 mph on the highway, there was a sudden loss of power and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle crashed into a wall and flipped upside down. The driver sustained head, neck, and lower back pains. The front passenger was suspended upside down, restrained in the seat belt, and had to be cut out of the vehicle by a responder. The rear passengers sustained bruising and whiplash from the impact. One of the two rear passengers was medevacked due to the injuries sustained. The curtain air bags deployed after the crash. The front driver and passenger side air bags later deployed with a low level of deflation and a smoke residue filled the vehicle. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. A police report was filed. The insurance company provided no inspection and diagnosis to determine what caused the crash. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures and the crash. The failure mileage was not available.
Put car in reverse. Backing out of driveway. Headrest exploded into my head. Popped out about 3 to 4 inches. Pushed my head forward a foot.car was in motion. No contact with anything.
Passenger head rest air bag popped out. I wasn't driving and was on the drive way about to leave the house when my daughter and me heard a noise and it was the head rest that had popped out. We were lucky that my daughter didn't get hit by it in the head.
"takata recall" driving about 55mph, an accident occurred with my dodge journey, hitting a guard rail and making the car crash and have a rollover. None of the airbags deployed, causing injuries to the people in the vehicle.
The air bag warning light is on.have to take it to a dealer to find out what's wrong.also the oil filter manifold cracked and leaked oil.had to get it replaced.
The contact owned a 2014 dodge journey. While traveling at an unknown speed over a pothole, which caused the vehicle to lose power, shut off, and flip over more than five times. The contact mentioned that the air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a whiplash, a punctured lung, a bruised body, and a brain injury which required further medical attention. The passenger sustained whiplash and minor bruises to the body. The vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Updated 6/4/15
I have taken my vehical to the dealership because the air bag sensor keeps turning off and on.when i get there it off.the say they can not replicate the problem.. I am afraid the airbag is going to deploy while i am driving. Next the power that control the radio amd bluetooh will justbstop working while driving. The screen will go black and then power cycle itself as if i just turn the car on. I believe there is a major electrical problem.
I was driving with my children in the car and out of no where my passenger headrest deployed without a car crash. This scared me so bad. If my driver side would've deployed i could've got into a serious wreck. I ask the dealer where i got my car if they could replace them or fix them they told me no it was my responsibility. I mean can you believe this?
Vehicle airbags and powder/smoke deployed on myself and my toddlers when the vehicle was not moving.
I bought my 2014 dodge journey a few months ago and everything was fine then my airbag light came on. The my check engine light came on and it became sluggish and jerky. I have a 4 year old son that is in this vehicle everyday. I am contacting you to find out if there are any recalls that i need to have taken care of. Thanks
I was driving last night up a two lane street and all of a sudden my airbags deploy. I noticed my airbag light came on a few days ago but it turned back off yesterday. When the airbags deployed my car shifted causing it to hit the curb a little. I was able to shift the car to the right and park it but the entire car shut off. I need my car fixed and dont know how to do this.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated, which was a safety concern. The dealer (larry h. Miller dodge ram, 10101 papago fwy, avondale, az 85323, 480-865-3985) was notified and stated that the vehicle would need to be diagnosed to determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v432000 (air bags). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
Passenger headrest deployed.the vehicle was sitting in the driveway and my toddler was getting into his sit when it just popped out.i took the vehicle in for recalls and asked about it but the vehicle was past it's warranty and since it is not a recall they wanted $600 plus to replace it.upon further inspection, it was a plastic piece that just broke overtime.aprox mileage at the time was around 32,000.
The drivers side headrest airbag deployed by itself. No accident involved
We were hit on our entire passenger side by an out of control driver, the side or front airbag did not deploy, my wifes hand was broke and my sons head bounced off the back passenger window.
My airbags did not deploy in a head on collision. My vehicle was traveling at 45 with right away and his at 10.i was on straight away and he was at a stop sign turning in the direction i was coming....updated 02/22/17
Air bag light has been toggling on and off for last two months. Dealership hooked up to computer and the airbag/harness must be replaced. Car now out of 100,000 warranty. Cost estimated to replace is $1200.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the air bag warning light would illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the driverā€™s side seat air bag and wiring harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 17v432000 (air bags) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
My drivers side airbag light started coming on. I looked to see if there is a recall. There is. When will i be notified?
Purchased my 2014 dodge journey in feburary 2019. Before having couple recalls done on my i had no lights on my dash board ever since purchased my car. Then i had recall t47 done on my car in april 2019 there begins to start randomly flashing the airbag deployment light on my dashboard. Could be in park or in gear the light will appear and stay all at random. Contacted dealership to schedule an additional recall and informed them of this airbag lighting issue. Was told that it caused from my seatbelt wiring. If that was the case then the light would have came on before ever having any recalls done more specifically the t47 recall for exactly that issue with the airbag wiring. Then the guy attempts to provide me with a quote on how much they were going to try and charge me to have it fixed !! i dont know what you would call this but i know it can not be legal !! please investigate and help stop this from happening to anyone else who uses this dealership !!!

I own a 2014 dodge journey... Only had it 6 months! i hit a deer (about 200 lbs/ husband said it would be a 10-12 point if it had antlers this time of year). I was running about 53-57 mph, out the corner of my eye i saw the deer about to run out, grabbed the wheel with both hands and just held on. There was no time to do anything else, the roads were wet so i didn't hit the brakes hard (didn't want them to lock-up) but i did stay on them. Thankfully the deer was coming to the ground (already jumped) when i hit him, because if not he probably would have ended up in our windshield. I hit the deer square... His body caved the radiator in among other things! the airbags never came out! i understand sensors in cars and all that but regardless if you hit "someone or something" as hard as i hit that deer... The airbags should have certainly deployed. I am thankful and grateful that it was a deer and not a tree!wish i knew how to get these complaints straight to the dodge dealership! makes me very uneasy about my car now. Obviously, the car is not fixed yet, still sitting in my yard waiting for the adjuster to come out. Not too sure we are going to keep it once it gets fixed. I have children (twin 5 years old daughters) do not want them in an unsafe car!
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that while traveling 40 mph, another vehicle crashed into the contact's driver front side. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained back and knee injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 2,300.
While cleaning my vehicle in my drive way i noticed a compartment under my steering wheel showing. I then took it too a dodge dealership for a recall that i received in the mail and i also asked about the cloth like material showing under my steering wheel. The young man notified me that it was the airbag coming out from under the steering wheel as well as a sensor/electrical problem. I am a new mom to be and having a newborn in this vehicle is unexceptionable. This vehicle is only a few years old with so many recalls. Im so disappointed
When i placed car in park few minutes later a warning light came on and then went off but keeps popping back looks like a person wearing seat belt and ball in front them
Air bags failed to deploy when vehicle had front impact with ditch embankment after leaving road across ditch and the anti-lock brakes caused the brakes to engage and unengaged causing the wreck. Whenchecked it was told that nothing wrong with either part.
My vehicle started flashing the airbag light any time i would turn right, now it stays on at all times. When calling my local dealer, i was informed that they sell nearly 20 clock springs of the same part number a week. If this many of the same part is being sold, clearly there is an issue with the original part.
Driver's head rest air bag blew out when no one was in the car.the car was stationary in the driveway.we were just getting in the car and noticed it.that would have turned out very good if my wife was driving.i have photos if they are necessary.
A couple of days ago my airbag light has come on at first it would come and go for secondsnow when i turn on my car the light stays on.i haven't been in any accidents. And haven't been it.
While driving in normal conditions on the highway, the vehicle brakes were applied and i began to loss control of the vehicle. The vehicle then flipped over on its side and airbags eventually deployed. I was taken to the hospital for potential injuries from the incident. No citations were given for the loss to indicate negligence on my end. I believe this may have been resulted from the current recall on the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact's vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v432000 (air bags). The contact brought the vehicle to the victorville motors dealer (14617 civic drive, victorville, ca 92394; 760-733-8484) for the recall repair. Approximately two days after the recall repair, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact called the same dealer who informed the contact that the recall repair was completed, but they were unable to show her the removed parts. The dealer also informed the contact that the air bag warning indicator illuminating could mean several other possible air bag failures, and the vehicle would need to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A vin search was completed and nhtsa campaign number: 17v432000 (air bags) was still listed as recall incomplete. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.
The contact owned a 2014 dodge journey. While driving approximately 85 mph, the steering wheel seized and the contact lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle rolled over four times and crashed into a pole. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver and front seat passenger sustained injuries that required medical attention. The rear passengers were ejected from the rear window and required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000....updated 12/30/15 updated 12/31/15.
We noticed the drivers side front headrest was fully extended and had come apart. To be clear, this happened while the car was parked, and there are no signs that our car was struck. There were no warning lights and no reason for it to occur. It had to be component failure. Upon inspection i saw a small piece of broken plastic inside the headrest and i couldn't reassemble it. It looks like a plastic component within the headrest failed and deployed the headrest like it would if there was an accident. Thank heavens this didn't happen while either of us were driving. I did some research and this is a common problem and a huge safety issue, causing drivers to be concussed and, of course, causing accidents. I looked for recalls and to my disbelief, there aren't any. No one has inspected our car but i'm more than happy to have someone look at it. I'm angry that something so dangerous that it would strike the driver of the car randomly isn't being addressed by the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt did not retract. A police report was filed. The driver sustained head, neck, and knee injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed, but not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the front driver's headrest exploded and separated without warning. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.*dt
The driver side air bag indicator lightand seat belt signs will not turn off! the seat belt will constantly come a loose while driving. Even when the seat beat is on, these lights and the beeping will not stop!
The vehicle was stationary and turned off, the headrest to the seat was found deployed and the plastic clips broken off. Headrest is not able to be repaired without replacement. The headrest is quite powerful, and if was in the car was in motion when this happened could have caused serious injury or an accident.
A safety recall was made back on 9/7/2017 to jack wolf in belvidere, illinois in reference to the safety recall steering wheel wiring- the inspection stated they installed a wheel wiring and protection sleeve.the light has started to come back on and sound off and stays on.this should have been taken care of properly back on september7, 2017 - i should not be having this problem again
Since 2015 this car has drained approximately 5 batteries.i purchased this automobile brand new 11/11/14 with 14 miles on it.this car was first taken to orange park chrysler jeep dodge ram 7233 blanding blvd., (904) 777-5500 in jacksonville, fl because of a drained battery and the car has to be started by pop-a-lock per my state farm insurance provider.the record shows that this occurred approximately three (3) times.each time the car was returned with supposedly a new battery with no problem found with the last incident on 11/6/16.i relocated to north augusta, sc and on 11/23/16 and on 12/12/16 my car battery was drained again, state farm roadside assistance (all american road se 706-631-3580) was called once again and the car was taken to bob richards chrysler dodge jeep ram 1666 jefferson davis highway in graniteville, sc (803) 349-4910.this dealership stated they found no problems, and after keeping the car the entire week end returning it to me "fixed".1/9/17 this car will not start again, notified state farm roadside assistance they again referred me to all american roads se 706-631-3580 the car was jumped and started, but the "check engine" light remained on.1/10/17 the car will not start again and i called chrysler customer care where an appointment was set for the car to be serviced on thursday 1/12/17 @ 10:00 am with milton rueben chrysler dodge jeep ram 3508 washington road augusta, ga 30809.pease help me, i am 67 year old senior and don't know what to do.the vehicle was stationary each time.
I purchased this car in feb 2015.family and i drove 900 miles from ga to nj for a funeral.the car would not start, no lights, power steering, nothing! the non-chrysler dealer blamed chrysler and chrysler blamed the non-chrysler dealer.chrysler roadside picked up the car saturday morning and took it to a nj chrysler dealer for repair.my family and i had to return to ga on sunday night.no one provided us with a rental car to return home.we had to secure/pay for a rental vehicle on our own.on monday (2 days later) the nj chrysler dealer had not looked at the car.on tuesday (3 days later) the nj chrysler dealer told me it was the bcm (body control module) = one of the computers and the part was on backorder with no eta.this car had 18k miles and a 2014 when i bought it less than 4 months earlier.i called chrysler warranty that assigned a case manager.on wednesday (4 days later) case manager contacted me to submit my receipts for rental car reimbursement, they have a rental car for me in nj and not ga, and trying to expedite backorder part.i told the case manager that i don't need the rental in nj, i need it in ga.have not heard from her since.i am so disappointed in the lack of quality customer service i received from the everyone involved.i am afraid to drive this vehicle from nj to ga as what is being told to me will be the case in order for me to get the car back.this car is still under warranty and provisions should be made to accommodate me for the repair and inconvenience.i have not received either from chrysler corporation or the non-chrysler dealer.i will never by a chrysler or recommend it to someone.
Front driver side door wiring caught on fire while driving, which now none of the windows work.
As i was driving my car on the city street i lost acceleration power, the traction light and the red lightning bolt came on. My car speed decreased and will not accelerate to over 12 miles an hour. I was on a city street with a speed limit of 40 miles an hour when the power decreases and another vehicle almost ran into my truck as i was trying to make it through the intersection. My car has coded the saying that my throttle needed to be replaced. The throttle was replaced and the car traction light and the lightning bolt still appeared on the dash.the car will not increase to over 12 miles an hour.my car is at the shop and the mechanic has diagnosed that the electrical issues should be on recall because there has been at least 6 dodge's that he has repaired with the same issue.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the computer system was failing. The vehicle was taken to paul sherry chrysler jeep dodge ram (937-778-0830, located at 8645 n county road 25a, piqua, oh 45356) where the technician diagnosed and replaced the throttle body. In addition, the abs and traction control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness was corroded and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that a recall repair was performed in 2018 per nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The contact was informed that a portion of the wiring harness may be repaired free of charge. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that when locking the vehicle and exiting, all four doors unlock independently. The failure occurred multiple times.the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 500.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the battery failed twice. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where the battery was tested and the contact was informed that there was no issues found with the battery. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence and turned off the vehicle and the battery failure recurred.the contact called aaa and the battery was replaced. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.*dtconsumer stated car stalls at stop within the first 7 miles every week. Even after it was repaired oil cooler/oil fill tube constantly leaks. Check engine light and thermostat comes on.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle jerked. The battery warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the parts were unavailable to perform the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Dvd system stopped working. Thought dvd was just stuck in the player.took the vehicle to the dealer to fix and was informed it just quit working. Have not had the vehicle 3 months and now having to wait for a new dvd system, hoping no other issues arise!
While cleaning my vehicle in my drive way i noticed a compartment under my steering wheel showing. I then took it too a dodge dealership for a recall that i received in the mail and i also asked about the cloth like material showing under my steering wheel. Bought this wonderful (not) car to replace my minivan. Within the first month, when i would put my cell phone in the "cave" under the radio, the radio would scan.did this multiple times and eventually when i opened the doors (a couple of times), the radio actually muted,,,,they checked it out and they replaced the radio, then something else to do with the radio....butttt, it still does it. Mentioned that while driving through country roads, the read end gets loose. After he asked me 1) do you drive fast through on the country roads and 2) do i live in in the country (both no answers), they "checked it out" and bam....new shocks on the back. Kinda miffed that they questioned my driving ability actually.i told them that the transmission seemed to shift weird. They checked it out and said there was an "upgrade" that could be done, and they did it.seemed to work for a while, but it is doing it again. Turned the rear wiper on and off (light rain) and it kept going. I did not push the washer option, and know how to work a rear wiper, but when i mentioned that to them, they looked at me like i was an idiot and explained how the washer option works. But of course, they could find nothing wrong with it.with my next oil change, they are checking on the creaking sound that it makes while driving on bumpy roads at slow speeds....they think that it is the bearings in my leaf spring, but sounds like when we had to replace a strut on my van.all in all, i like the room and setup of the inside of the car, but boy....i have never paid so much for a lemon in my life!! and....guess who didn't buy the extended warranty????? you guessed it.
The electrical system fails off and on connect to rear hatch door and rear hatch door lock releases and the hatch door opens while driving. I lose the ability to get the electric lock to relock the hatch door.a few days later the electrical issue changes then the hatch door will lock again. Very dangerous situation....when hatch flys open.
The vehicle erupted into flames while sitting in the driveway. The car was off and had not been driven for about 12 hours. The vehicle had been into the dealership several times for the radio, navigation, back up camera shorting out while coming to a stop. The night before the fire the vehicles back up camera shorted out and came back on while reversing out of a parking spot. We were going to take the car into the dealership for this problem on 08-06-2015. The neighbors came and got my wife and children out of the house and called the fire department. I have pictures of the fire and all service records of the vehicle leading up to the fire.
There are more problems with the car. There have been nothing but problems with this car since i bought it when it was brand new. It's only 4 years old. It leaks oil now too! i feel very unsafe driving this car with my children in it. There have been 9 recalls and now i see there are 2 that i haven't had done. This should be a lemon. This car is unsafe and i am still paying on this car. A car that has nothing but steering, electrical, air bag, engine and other numerous problems. I should be able to give this car back and walk away from it. This car is not safe! no one should be driving it! i had my oil changed and the next day it said i needed my oil changed. The driver window screeches, the steering wheel locks up, the car lags when i go to break. When i try to accelerate the car stalls and revs super high. The engine smells as if it were on fire. It's not safe. I'm very upset. I have 3 little children. I need my car to be safe and reliable. This car is neither. There has been nothing but problems since i got this car. But i'd have it fixed and then something else would happen. Now more is happening. Things i thought had been fixed even! please this car is a lemon. It needs to be destroyed so no one is able to drive it again.
Helfman dodge katy freeway houston 713-533-6100 say parts for safety recall "on back order,,,may take a few weeks or months" before they have the parts.abs notice r61/nhtsa 15v-675.so we are left with a potentially serious problem with dealer unable or unwilling to repair.
Upon starting the vehicle the radio and climate control screen freezing not allowing any use. After a period of time it starts working. Can not adjust air hot or cold and can not change radio stations. At dealer on 8/13/14 and advised no updates for system.
The vehicle will fail to start initially.after several attempts the vehicle will start and the check engine light will appear.also sometimes while driving the vehicle will cut out and the dash will go blank and have all of the warning lights illuminated, i.e. Abs, airbags, esc, tpms, engine mil, and service awd.the wipers will turn on by themselves and the blinkers or hazard lights wont work.this is concerning due to the lack of availability to warn other drivers on the road.
Our 2014 dodge journey was parked for 5 days while we were on a bus trip.we returned on a cold winter night in december.vehicle battery was dead.used emergency key to open driver's door but obviously all electrical stuff was dead.fortunately, our friends hadjumper cables.we got the vehicle started and returned home without incident.left vehicle parked in garage for 5 days and couldn't repeat problem.still don't trust leaving it parked for more than a day or so because it smells like the same problem i have with my 2013 chrysler 300c.the 300 had another problem of stalling on the highway.journey has most of the same body and engine electronic controllers as the chrysler which wouldn't start in my garage.i would have to jump-start it.by the time i drove the 300 to the dealer, generator charged the battery and dealer couldn't repeat the problem.this cycle with the 300 was repeated a 2nd time a week later. Dealer installed service bulletin controller updates but claimed they were unrelated to my problem.bought and use a trickle charger now because i don't trust either car.i think chrysler has an issue with their electronics.hope they're not covering it up like ford with their ignition key.my next letter is going to [xxx] (fca ceo).information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
While driving my car my radio would black out at first i thought i was going crazy then at random points and speeds over the next few weeks my radio screen would go out for a few seconds and turn back on then it turned into the heating controls and now i have had the radio replaced but it still blacks out and now my heat has started turning on by it self i am afraid that my car may gradually start to just turn off.
The radio will randomly turn stations and just completely go black. The a/c turns itself on and off. The airbag lights keep randomly coming up and then go away.this all happens rather i'm driving fast, slow, or stopped at a light and has happened since purchasing the car a year ago.i'm also having an issue with the check engine light coming on with it being thep0420. I only use mid grade gas and only from exxon or chevron. I also make sure the gas cap is on tightly. The check engine light will be on one day and not the next.
Key fob doesnt always unlock/lock/start with push start, usually its delayed or vehicle will say vehicle is running but the ignition wont kick on start with push start. Will be dropping my daughter off at school and with an open of the door the vehicle signals that the key has left the car. I have replaced the key fob and batteries and continue to have this issue. Biggest concern is not being able to start the vehicle when needed or being locked out.also, the touch screen and radio dials don't always work on steering wheel.
When driving thevehicle the main screen radio/air control as well as dash board will go black, it is almost like the vehicle will cut off going down the road and after a few seconds everything will work again. I have had this problem since i bought it and before the first oil change was due after having to commute to work long distance for a few months and now having 14,000 on it i am still having this issue and cant seem to get dodge to fix the problem all they want to do is updates well after 7/8 months we all know updates are a waste and just away for you to say you don't know what's wrong or don't want to fix it because it cost to much. The customer services is a joke and i spent way to much money on a new suv to have this much trouble. Stay away from journeys.........
This issue with thethrottle position sensor has been going on for me, since i bought the car from dealership last year 2019. Has happened 3 times. I can drive and the car stalls, loses it power to drive, car shakes with acceleration.had to have the dealer clear code once in july 2019, so didnt have the car for 6 months yet. Then it happened earlier this year and then it happened july 2020. Everytime this goes bad i take it in and they reset the sensor..i feel this is a safety issue especially with it reoccurring and i have two little children k drive around. It happens out of nowhere and its my first new car and thos is a saftey habit. Im afraid to travel to see family on the east coast. The thunderbolt light will start flashes and car loses its acceleration.the engine light came on as well. The traction tire light also turns off. Car does not gain acceleration and shakes. This is an ongoing issue with my dodge and othwr reviews.
Car shuts off in the middle of driving. Power steering and breaks go out. Very dangerous, without any warning the car just turns off. It has happened at all different speeds and while turning. I was driving the car on the freeway with my kids and car suddenly shut off.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the instrument panel lights failed to illuminate. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that when the gear shifter was placed into the reverse position, the accelerator was depressed, the vehicle independently shifted into the drive position. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the transmission was recalibrated. In addition, the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle hesitated to stop while making a grinding sound. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic) however, the parts were unavailable to perform the repairs. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000.
My cruise control quit working and the traction control light came on and it wouldn't turn off. The doors started locking and unlocking by themselves. I went to church and stopped at food city afterwards. I started the vehicle and put it in reverse and i can smell something weird and it was like the brake was stuck and it was holding back. I proceeded because i was in traffic and needed to move. Acceleration was limited but i made it home which was less than a mile. When stopped there was smoke rolling out from under the front passenger side area and there was fluids running all over the ground. This was a very dangerous situation because i had my children in the car. There is a scrubbing and pecking noise but it sounds like it's coming from the rear end. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. Check engine light is on but it's been on. I've had it checked and shows nothing wrong and had it turned off and it continues to come on. Alternator has been replaced as well as new battery. It seems to have electrical issues with the doors locking and unlocking. So dangerous! affects steering and control of vehicle and could cause a fire and not be able to get out of the vehicle. After seeing all of the reviews and problems with these vehicles they all need to be recalled because none of them are safe because it's obvious that the dealerships don't even know how to fix them. If they attempt one issue there are even more issues that occur. The repairs are costly and this is happening way too often with too many journeys. Then we are stuck with a lemon to pay for and no vehicle because of these costly repairs along with the dangers imposed. Please recall these dangerous and repair costly vehicles! they don't need to be on the roads. Problems started not long after purchase but they have escalated and have gotten more serious, dangerous, and costly.
One of the biggest problem is the back doors not locking when in drive like they use to. My sons door didn't lock like normal (inside door child lock was locked too) but worse of all my car didn't even show that the door was open in the back and i didn't hear him fall out and it open and he fell out while driving, my check engine has been on and my outside temp on car dash reads 185 all the time, it loses power while driving, the radio also turns volume up and down and channels changes by itself. My wipes back and front sometimes go and don't turn off. My right fender is no longer on the car because when i got a flat aaa lifted the car from the under carriage and the fender just came off on one side like bolts weren't even place on there i bought this car for safety for myself and kids and this car is not safe and dodge won't help and i'm very upside down on it, im a recently divorced mom waiting for disability for my back. I can't afford to trade it with more money down. I paid a down 6500 and pay 400. Per month and never thought i would have to worry that my kid would fall out while child lock was on and when the doors should lock, . Now this new recall with the engine makes me worried to drive my three kids to school or anywhere for that matter.
I was slowing down and turning right into my driveway when the engine stalled.i was going 8 mph when i noticed i had no power steering and the rpms were at 0.my engine stalled for no reason.i have push button start/ignition, so this is not a case of a heavy keychain moving the ignition into auxiliary or off mode..this is my wife's car and she drives my son and daughter everywhere.i am very worried this could happen in a dangerous situation or at higher speed!i'm not a mechanic, but i have noticed with the v6/auto 6 speed transmission, this car has very strange shifting programs / "curves".it seems to shift early and sometimes when slowing down, it's like the transmission doesn't downshift quickly enough.that may be the cause for what it's worth.bottom line, i need to know it's not going to do this again with my family in the car!
The wiring harness at the hatch area is breaking causing the rear lights to fail.
My wife was driving our kids around town and the vehicle stalled out as they were approaching a stop sign. No check engine light or any other indicators were triggered. The vehicle appeared to still be running and she could not shut the vehicle off immediately. She eventually lost power steering as well. After a few minutes she was able to start the vehicle back up again and it functioned normally as expected and she was able to drive home. We were expecting some sort of light to come on so we could get a troubleshooting code but nothing. I researched online and was alarmed to find out that this problem seems to be somewhat common and there was a recall back in 2011 for 2010 dodge journey models that were stalling out. I have not seen evidence of a recall for later models. I am concerned that this could happen on the open road like a highway where the vehicle is going at high rates of speed and stalls out causing my wife to lose control of the vehicle. I plan to take the vehicle to a dodge dealership but from what i have seen online it seems no obvious resolution has been mentioned. I am very concerned at this point.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle also was shaking and would jerk while driving at 70 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Driving at any speed the power to the stereo console/informational, control center and the center console intermittently loses power. Not set situation, speed, weather. Took to dealership in which we bought it from button motors in kokomo, in. They stated they couldn't duplicate the problem and gave us the car back. To this day and my mileage is now 25,000. The problem is still happening.
Car locking and unlocking on its own, no key detected, the car was stationary, in my yard and at different stores, the car has been looked at several times in the past 2 yrs, unknown,
These cars have massive oil leaks from bad seals on the oil cooler and filter housing assembly. This can cause your engine failure or a fire.
Vehicle was in motion and suddenly just shuts off without power to any of the hazard lights.it can get a lot of people killed with such a safety glitch.does it, then turns back on maybe after 10 to 40 mins of being off.
Ed voyles chrysler dodge jeep ram has failed to remedy the recall of the anti-lock brake system control module for my 2014 dodge journey in a reasonable amount of time. After i was initially notified of the recall, i called to schedule a service to address the problem. I was told at this time that the parts required were not in stock and to check back in a few days. Upon calling a second time, i was told that i would be notified when the parts became available. After a month of waiting and no notification, i called for a third time and was told parts were still not in stock and that i would now be placed on a waiting list. Ed voyles failed to offer a timeline for resolution nor simply tell me my place on the wait list, stating that it was not numbered.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

In the past two years i have had multiple electrical problems.the a/c turns on all on its own.the radio changes channels on its own but most important this morning 23 oct 2019 my 2014 dodge journey completely shutdown while i was making a right hand turn.luckily i was able to get off the road safely.
When i placed car in park few minutes later a warning light came on and then went off but keeps popping back looks like a person wearing seat belt and ball in front them
My 2014 dodge journey was parked in my drive way, i tried to start up the car and it did not want to turn on. On the dash the following appeared and flashed several times before turning off: a red lightning bolt and airbag. The transmission light also flashed in yellow however it did stay on. I originally thought it needed a battery replacement so with battery jumper cables we attempted to get the journey to start and it refused to start even after leaving the cars connected for several minutes. I read some forums online as more people have experienced this issue with their dodge journey's (ranging from 2009-2016 models) two gentlemen stated if you place the car in neutral and then start the vehicle it would crank up however my car did not. The brake pedal seems stuck and extremely hard to press down as well but that's usually like that for me on any given day to start my car. I attempted to start up the vehicle again without using jumper cables and the dash then stated it did not detect the key but the key was inside the car with me, again all lights turning on, flashing and then turning off only for transmission light to stay on. I am aware there are some previous and more recent recalls with this vehicle and i've had two repaired however the dealer does not make it easy for the job to be done, either parts need to be ordered and are not in to someone not reaching out when they're ready as well as being told my car would need to stay there overnight to several days as they were extremely busy which does not work for me. I am not sure what the problem is but it seems to be electrical (unknown). 12/07/2019 i tried to start up the vehicle once again and still does not turn on, transmission light and airbag light both stay on.
The vehicle doors will often unlock after leaving the vehicle.the doors are locked, the doors are closed and when about 3 feet from the car, sometimes the doors will unlock themselves.this happens intermittently.the key fob is in the drivers pocket, by itself.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that when the key fob was left in the vehicle, the vehicle automatically locked and unlocked independently.the failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was not duplicated.the vehicle was not repaired.the approximate failure mileage was 13,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the key fobs failed and the vehicle would lock independently. On one occasion, the contact left the keys in the vehicle accidently while an infant was in the vehicle. The vehicle locked independently and failed to unlock. As a result, the contact shattered the front passenger side window. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,050.
Wife got into car to go to store told me done lights would not go off. I tried every switch in the car but nothing would turn them off. I sent her to store anyway knowing that battery would not die in that amount of time.wife returned from grocery store stating something smells hot. I looked in car again and i also smelled burnt wiring. I looked at the middle seat light and saw smoke. I quickly popped the lens off the dome light and saw dripping melting plastic. I disconnected the light and tossed it out in the lawn. Dodge sent an inspector to look at the event and i received a letter stating that any done light will become hot if left on. I asked them if they were supposed to smoke, melt and almost drip on a 3 year old child's head. Even the harness melted.they don't think this is a big deal but i believe (and other people have looked at it ) believe it is. Very dangerous! i've left a dome light on in many cars over the years and none started melting. I've tried to relay this to dodge but can't get anyone but a level 1 person to talk to. I'm really beside myself on this. I can't understand how this is a big deal. I'm hoping by contacting this agency i can get a resolution and possibly prevent someone from getting seriously injured.
Past 2-3 years whenever it rains abs and esc light come on and brakes fail to work properly. Once quits raining, after no more than 24-48 hours lights go off and everything functions fine until rains again. Recently there was no rain from january to mid june and i traveled from florida to ohio and back with no problem. Then it rained, abs and esc back on. Vehicle was recalled dodge #r61 for this exact issue and the dealer stated performed recall. That did not correct problem. I contacted dodge and was given a case number. I took to dealer after it had rained and they confirmed abs and esc light were on and pulled code when i dropped off stating abs module failure which is the part that fails in r61 when it rains. The next day it did not rain and dealer states abs and esc light off and there were no codes indicating no problem. They say they do not know how to repair and state dodge told them it was out of warranty. I pointed out no expiration on recall and they have stated they don't know how to fix and don't know how to get paid for repairs if could find problem. Note: the r61 states it does not apply to right hand drive fiat freemont because the water intrusion to abs ground wire occurs when rain runs off passenger windshield and soaks ground wire and the right hand drive vehicles have ground wire that is culprit on drivers side and water from rain does not affect those wires. In 2016 they announced they were recalling 152,000 right hand drive dodge journeys (fiat freemont) without explanation however this appears to be clear proof they do not know how or where water is entering abs wiring system.
On may 15, 2018, approximately 10 minutes after i cranked my vehicle and left for work my vehicle caught on fire. I was approaching a 4way stop in gaylesville al 35973 at intersection of highway 35 and highway 68. Luckily there was a truck stopped in front of me and the driver jumped out telling me vehicle was on fire. Before i ever got out of vehicle flames were shooting out from under the hood. The engine cover caught on fire and totaled out the vehicle it burnt the engine all the wiring the hood and front axles
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving 55 mph, the gauges and meters failed to function. All the lights on the instrument cluster failed to illuminate. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle jerked and hesitated before accelerating. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.
Fire risk of wiring breaking at upper right corner at liftgate (rear hatch door) wiring is breaking within rubber boot. This cause a fire risk. Other issues is rear lights failure. This hazard has high risk of rear end collisions. This wire breakage has very dangerous outcome but easy to recall and save lives. I will be fix my wife car before this car gets my family killed. I will also be send the bill for it to maker of the car. This is a noted problem by many dodge owners nation wide. Please look into it. 'takata recall' i've contacted sacramento chrysler , jeep dodge , ram store with updates to the appointment date and time. I get incompetent phone receptionist that transfer to a supposed person to take my information down. Yet i don't receive any calls. I drove down there and they tell me i have to call as they are pre booked all week. I go to the customer service desk and ask for a manager and get told which one do you want? i said a general manager . She replies we'll go sit over there it's gonna be a while. The treatment as if they don't need anyone's service . I would pay for the repairs and have them reimbursed at this point it's looking like i have a lemon!
Bought car january 23 ,2018.on february 28, 2018 went to store and came out and tried to get in vehicle, however the locks would not open.i got the key out and opened the door. There was no power whatsoever to the vehicle.called aaa for a jump.they tested battery and said it was fine, tried to jump it, but would not start.had to get towed to dealership.they have had the car and have not been able to figure out what is wrong so far (as of 3/2/18).the vehicle was parked when this situation occurred.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving at various speeds and accelerating the vehicle sputtered and stalled however restarted. The tachometer and speedometer became inoperable but independently reset and worked as designed. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics where the battery was replaced.the contact called baxter chrysler dodge jeep ram la vista located at (7010 s 124th cir, la vista, ne 68128 (402) 800-1229) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 150,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While being operated at a low speed, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to arrigo dodge chrysler jeep ram west palm beach (6500 okeechobee blvd, west palm beach, fl), but the cause of the failure was not determined. I took my vehicle in to the dealership for the recall to update the computer.after having the recall fixed in may 2016, i was turning left from a complete stop at a stop light and the vehicle started missing, it would not accelerate properly, and the engine light started flashing.this was on 6/2/16.the vehicle was running really rough, as though it was going to stall.i came to a complete stop at the next traffic light , the engine light quit flashing & appeared solid.it stopped missing, but there was a definite lack of power and acceleration capability.i got the vehicle back to dealer on 6/3/16.again unable to recreate incident, so they reran the computer update from the recall, cleared codes & turned check engine light off.on 7/2/16, i was once again sitting completely stopped at a traffic light getting ready to turn left.while idling at stop light check engine light started flashing again & the vehicle started running rough.i was turning into a parking lot for a shopping center.as i attempted to pull into a parking spot the vehicle stalled half in the parking spot.i put the vehicle in park and was able to start it back up and pull the rest of the way in the spot.after being in the store about an hour, we came back out, the vehicle started, but again had a definite lack of power.after driving it less than a mile, it stalled out again while slowing down to come to a stop.we were able to start the vehicle back and get it back home, still with a definitely lack of power, and park it for the holiday weekend.after the holiday, on 7/5/16, i took the vehicle back to the dealership.once again they can't find anything wrong, have cleared codes, turned off check engine light & advised me to come pick it up.i chatted with dodge customer service and they claim to be unaware of the issue or any resolution.transcript attached.
About three weeks ago, the abs and check light came on, i researched recalls and took car to schlossmann's dodge city.i was advised that due to weather and water leaking into wire harness that it was corroded.in which this is the basis of the r61 recall.however, since my issue is with left wheel sensor and not the front right, it is not covered.i am wondering what the difference is - if the result and cause is the same - why would it not be covered?i have also noticed that the cruise control no longer works - is this related?
Problem started with2014 didge journey sxt going into limp mode. Code that appeared were throttle body sensor, changed that. It went into limp mode immediately after and code was throttle body, changed that. It went into limp mode immediately again. Same codes. Sent to shop they said it was the transmission, $220 for an overhaul of that. 2 to 3 weeks after, limp mode again. Same codes. Brought it to dodge dealership and the diagnosis it saying i need a new pcm and wire harness. Those items were replaced. 2 to 3 weeks after that work. Car goes into limp mode again while on the hwy. Car is currently at dodge dealership again, now they're saying it's the starter causing the problem. This issue has been since july 2019 and is still ongoing, last limp mode was sunday december 15, 2019. I have tons of documentation of the work that has been done please advise if you should need any
During drive the car shuts down, i have taken it to the dealer, and they say nothing is coming up and they only have had it for 3 days, i told the dealership that it shuts down when it wants to.
As i will be driving the gps screen and radio will just shut off. It will reset itself and continue to do this as i drive. Sometimes it will do this when i brake, but it will also just do this when i am driving. It has been happening for as long as i have been driving this car. Also the a/c will turn on byitself and continue to turn itself on as i drive.
My 2014 dodge journey was parked in my garage, i tried to start up the car and it did not want to turn on. On the dash the following appeared and flashed several times before turning off: a red lightning bolt and airbag. The transmission light also flashed in yellow however it did stay on. I tried again several times. It kept giving me the message to service park assist. . i read some forums online as more people have experienced this issue with their dodge journey?s (ranging from 2009-2016 models) two gentlemen stated if you place the car in neutral and then start the vehicle it would crank up however my car did not. The brake pedal seems stuck and extremely hard to press down as well but that?s usually like that for me on any given day to start my car. I attempted to start up the vehicle againand the dash then stated it did not detect the key but the key was inside the car with me, again all lights turning on, flashing and then turning off. I am aware there are some previous and more recent recalls with this vehicle. Also when i open the door to get in the dash display just has a picture of the brake and push to start. Doesn't have any words with it anymore. Also when going thru the menu everything is blank except there is a 1 where there is a message for the park assist service. Worst part is i drove the car the day before with no problems. If i try to use the remote start it still doesn't work and then the tail lights flash fast and almost like they are trying to short out.

While investigating a problem of a non-working backup light, it was discovered that several (7) wires from the body to the rear deck hatch are broken in the lift gate accordion.dealer service manager said they have seen several cases of this - an internet search confirms this is extensive.
I was driving home from shopping, and the trac control, and a lightingbolt light came on, and i had no accelerationpower, i was nearlyhome, so i droveon to my house and parked it.
While driving the anti skid showed on instrument panel as off then a lightning symbol came in and car went into limp mode nit letting me accelerate much at all so i was forced to pull off the road. As it went into limp it deaccelerated very quickly causing a traffic problem before i could get off to thr side.

The contact mentioned that the air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a whiplash, a punctured lung, a bruised body, and a brain injury which required further medical attention. The passenger sustained whiplash and minor bruises to the body. On approximately 6-8 different occasions in the last 3 years, my 2014 dodge journey has shut itself off while i've been driving it.the first 3 times i was driving straight & after the 3rd time, the dealer replaced the crank shaft sensor but it continued to happen.there seemed to be nothing to note when it would happen, until recently, it shut off on 2 occasions when i went over a bump & going in a forward motion in both cases.the first time i was going 55mph, the 2nd 25mph so not sure the speed had anything to do with it.brought it back to dealer & they did an engine control module update.this was one week ago and it happened again today.i was again in a forward motion, actually just started accelerating from a red light, so was probably not going more than 35-40mph when it happened.i felt like this is an issue your organization needed to know about on many levels but the largest one for me is as a full-time mom. I have had my son in the car with me on almost every one of these occasions and to say it's terrifying would be an understatement.everything on the car locks and i have about 3 seconds to try and guide my car out of traffic without getting hit.the car does restart once you put it in park and push the ignition button but i would not wish this fear on my worst enemy.hope this helps in some way.btw, today i immediately drove my car to my husband at work and he will be driving it back to the dealership today until they can hopefully fix it for good.although at this point, if i never saw that car again, it'd be too soon.
Roughly 1 month after purchasing vehicle the radio screen would fade out and turn black. After several visits and updates at the dealership, we involved corporate who instructed the dealership to replace the radio. The vehicle is still having similar issues, but now the entire dash, air/heat, and radio will shut off for a brief second and then the radio will power on. Corporate is still involved and now they are saying they had not replaced the radio, but the touchscreen. Now, we have yet another rental. Our vehicle has begun shocking passengers as they exit. This is not a tiny shock, but a painful jolt that impacts the passengers on a regular basis. The process of getting my new vehicle properly fixed has been a complete nightmare. I have been a dodge customer for years, purchasing several vehicles, but never again. The lack of customer service is a joke and i am concerned for the safety of my family while driving this vehicle!
Despite a brand new battery and good alternator, the battery keeps draining over night or during the day, leaving me stranded at least 10 times since february 2020. Issue has occurred in multiple settings, including at work in a parking garage, in retail parking lots, and at home in my driveway. I replaced the battery as well as a faulty connector, as well as had the alternator assessed by my mechanic. Yet something is draining my brand new battery no matter how frequently the car is driven. It has only 70,000ish miles on it and has been maintained regularly. Since this is a push button ignition which controls other vehicle systems as well, if the electrical system doesn't recognize the fob or it's proximity, then door locks also aren't recognized or functional. During one call to/visit from aaa, the car started when jump started. The aaa rep opted to let it run on the charger for a few minutes. The car died while connected to the charger. This was after a brand new battery was installed.
The rear window defrost dash control keeps blinking and with that i have no control over the hvac system. It is constantly on low '1' blow power and it isn't only blowing cold.in the north east in winter (today was 6 degrees and tha ksfiving day where all auto shops are closed) it is not safe.there is a crunching sound in the dash, as though something is trying to turn. The car loses power unexpectedly while driving at various different speeds or sometimes just won't start after driving but if u wait twenty minutes it might just decide to restart, the ac sometimes will only blow out very hot heat, the cruise control won't turn off and has accelerated from being set at 55 to 75 on its own without being able to turn off, it has went into limp mode at several different speeds and in 2018 wouldn't turn off from in the run position in a result of a completely drained battery and was told engine needed to be replaced which i had replaced, the catalytic converter completely disconnected from the front which i also had replaced, wheel bearings bad costing numerous tire changes since purchasing it in 2013 until someone finally told me in 2020 what was wrong only at the cost of several tires and a wheel alignment, the stability warning light comes on and turns off randomly but if i try to push the button it won't turn it back on or off and the throttle control light comes on and car goes into limp mode drives like this for a day then can go days or months with all warning lights turning off and car runs just fine until it decides to do anyone one of these problems! i have told the dealership that the vehicle has a malfunctioning computer since purchasing it in 2013! the vehicle is unsafe lemon! it has caused me anxiety, and repeated traumatic events of almost getting into an accident or being left stranded for hours! i go into a store and i panic never knowing if the vehicle will start or decide to act possessed!"i recently went to a dodge dealership to get the safety recalls done on the vehicle and dodge has informed me they will not do the recalls because i have replaced the engine! the safety recalls must be done and if they can't do it then they need to provide me w a new vehicle free of charge or give me the money back i paid!
The vehicle described above has been unable to unlock by itself on a continuing, but not regular basis. This occurs upon leaving the vehicle on several occasion. Per the dealer request, we began recording the number of times and locations.the attempts to correct or define the issue by fiat chrysler america and blue water chrysler-dodge- jeep have garnered no corrective measures. I believe the compromises my family's safety as it remains uncorrected. The vehicle has been to the repair shop seven times for the issue. ....updated 11/18/15
The back up camera is intermittent and does not work.the outside temperature gauge is off by 20 degreesthe tire pressure gauge does not work.this all happens when the vehicle is started.the back up camera does not work when i put it in reverse.
Dashboard lights, cabin lights and radio constantly going off and on while driving. This happens while highway driving and on the street.
Our dvd/navigation system randomly powers off and restarts while we are driving. The system has been "updated" and has been completely replaced the dealership but the problem continues to occur. We have had this issue addressed 3 times and our vehicle is in the dealership again rightnow.
The driver seat seat belt alarm comes on and stays on, even when the seat belt is on. Also, the entire electrical system in the driver seat isn't working. The seat doesn't move in any direction anymore. The rear seat behind the driver seat is stuck in the forward position right behind the drivers seat which is also stuck. Also, the horn hasn't worked since i purchased the vehicle. Seems like there are lots of electrical issues through out the vehicle. The seat belt alarm begin when i crunk the vehicle up in the morning. I wasn't in motion. The middle seat behind the driver seat flew forward while vehicle was in motion and got stuck and has been stuck ever since. My sons legs are too long to sit in that rear seat and i have a carseat in the other. With these stuck seats there isn't much room. The electrical issues in the driver seat makes me wonder if it's not registering when i'm wearing a seat belt, is the air bag going to go off if it needed to?
So when i am driving down the street or on the freeway at an accelerated rate and then i start to push on the brakes to slow down to either come to a stoplight or an exit of the freeway and to either turn left or right the car will cut off but also stay on the engine completely cuts off and the steering wheel locks but the radio the air conditioner everything else stays on inside the car the ignition it self stays on 'run' it's a push start. I then have to put my car in park and turn off then back on and hope it doesn't happen again, but it does
Power window control on driver side will stop working and not allow the windows to close back up. Power locks stopped working. I have noticed that the power cord going from the door to the body of the car keeps disconnecting from the body of the car. I have noticed that the power cord going from the door to the body of the car keeps disconnecting the box from the body of the car. This feature happens when the car is in park or going down the road and drive.

The traction control lights stay on as well as the abs system, and the car goes into limp mode at regular speed and good driving conditions i took the car to the dealer and they said that the alternator was causing the problem, the alternator was only 3 months old and a brand new battery, but i replaced the alternator again and still have the same problem. I paid the dealer 170$ for the diagnostics and it did not solve my problem now if i go back they will want to soak me for more money

I was driving on a city street. After going over a small bump on the street, the abs warning light and check engine light came on. I was able to stop the vehicle. The warningwent off temporarily, butwhen i started to drive again, there was a small skid and warning lights came back on. There is more "play" when i brake, but i was able to come to a stop.the warning lights have remained on. We have been having a lot of rain where i live.i have seen reports of other people having similar problems with my model of car. Reason : unknown.

The car stalled on me twice nearly getting into a wreck. Took it to the dealership where i bought it from they put it on the computer. They said that they could not find anything wrong.then about 21/2 weeks later it did it again. I have a print out of the computer analysis.
On thursday, july 3, 2014, i was leaving the city driving my new 2014 dodge journey. After driving for one minute the esc display appeared and the car immediately decelerated to the point of almost cutting off in the middle of the street. This occurred in the middle of rush hour traffic, at stop lights, after pulling off from the stop lights, etc. This occurred for approximately 20 minutes. It was an extremely hot, sunny day, no rain in sight. Eventually, after getting onto a longer stretch of road, the constant deceleration in speed stopped and the esc display indicator stopped turning on and off. I took the car immediately to the dealership where no codes or other issues could be discovered.
Two days ago my abs and esc light came on, i have also noticed since then i have no cruise control. In the winter here the roads are quite sick, and the antilock brakes that are on this vehicle no longer function. When i was driving into work and came to a stop light, i tried to stop and kept sliding as a result.

I went into my church for about 2 hours and came back out and started the car to let it cool down for my kids. As it sat idling all of a sudden my check engine light is on, my etc light is flashing, and my esc off light is on. Shut it off and turned it back on and the engine light was on. Started driving and the etc light started flashing and esc off light came on. My car slowed down from 60mph on the highway and i couldn't speed back up. I had to pull over and turn car off and back on 3 times to make it back home. To make it home i had to put cruise control on and hope i didn't get behind someone going slower than me because all the lights would come back on.
I've had my throttle body fail twice in 8 months. Both while driving, it causes the car to not be able to accelerate.almost was in a horrible accident.

We purchased a 2014 dodge journey on 8/04/2016 under the assumption that the vehicle was certified. We eventually got the dealer to agree for us to bring the vehicle back to be certified and address all the other concerns. We picked the vehicle up in ny, heading home to pa and the car caught on firewhile driving on the highway with my wife, our only daughter, two youngest sons, and myself. We were stranded, the dealer and manufacture did nothing including the warranty company. Although, the vehicle had factory, we just purchase the vehicle including "required warranty" for $2000, we were denied any assistance from dodge and the dealership.we have been in constant contact with the dealer via different mediation and to this day, we are still on our own with out a vehicle that is safe to drive.
Vehicle was in motion and suddenly just shuts off without power to any of the hazard lights.it can get a lot of people killed with such a safety glitch.does it, then turns back on maybe after 10 to 40 mins of being off.
There is a u67 by fca recall on my 2014 dodge journey which i was not notified by the dealer! i found out about the recall after paying to have the catalytic converter replaced mysel! however my car decided to go into a limp mode which it has done since i purchased the vehicle in 2013 but this time it is staying in limp mode so i researched recalls, there is also t47 and u49 when i towed my vehicle to the dealer they informed me the converter i had put on does not meet standards and they were going to replace it again and also do the other two recalls as well and then they informed me they could not do the u49 or u67 because the vehicle does not have the original engine! they told me and gave me documentation that the only recall done was t47 however they reported to fca that the u67 was complete when in fact it has not been completed!the vehicle is stuck in limp mode because it needs the pcm flashed and they will not do the recall u67 or u49 on my vehicle and sent me away to drive the vehicle 89 miles home in limp mode! this vehicle had had a pcm issue since i bought it in 2013 causing a number of unsafe malfunctions i mentioned in complaint # 11337435 and 11337440! this vehicle needs to be taken off the road and a new vehicle given to me free of charge or money back! fca needs to know u67 has not been completed on my vehicle,

While making a left hand turn into a shopping mall, my car stalled. No steering, brakes, power, etc. The only thing that stopped my forward progress was a curb. Almost got hit from behind! i was able to go thru the start motions and restart my car. I had it towed to the dealership where i bought it. The stall was "not found on the computer check". They did find valve leaking & replaced booster check valve. I just got it back today (4/18/15), let's hope this never happens again. I drive on a highway and it if it happened there - who's knows what the outcome could have been.

Beauty cover recall and possible fire, broken front seat holding seat belt, water coming from under car from air conditioning unit, interior light staying on, sudden surge in engine speed, outside molding coming off, rear wiper out of alignment
The vehicle is unsafe due to the lack of power when climbing hills with anymore than 3 persons . It is a 7 person vehicle. It is also sluggish when 3 or more persons getting in and out of traffic situations. Example excellerating onto onramps. Took the vehicle to the mountains and the engine lite kept coming on saying oil extremely hot , you will loose power, and i did.i have haden it to sahara dodge, took it for a drive to the same area with the service supervisor and he saw exactly what i was talking about. He never documented his findings and left the dealership 2 days later closing my star account. A new manager tony supposedly took it for a test drive, lied saying a chrysler rep. W/ the star account went with them for the test drive, when in fact he never went. They sahara dodge are now closing the account and refuse to address the safety issues any longer.

After getting oil changed/air filter replaced and 4 new tires, vehicle has stalled out every day since while running (less than week) it is now stalling out while driving!! happened while i was driving on the highway. Extremely dangerous. Car usually will restart. But 95% of the time it continuously sounds like itā€™s trying to turn over until i push the ignition button to turn off.i am currently stuck on the side of the road for about a half hour because it wonā€™t start back up.i have had this car less than a year!

Engine light on: the issue is a design flaw in the head and cylinders of the 2014 v6 engine of the dodge journey 2014. The flaw allows burning fuel vapor to escape and cause burning and carbon around the cylinder head. The hazard here is the continued disintegration and carbon damage can cause the engine to lock up while driving.

I then have to put my car in park and turn off then back on and hope it doesn't happen again, but it does
Taking exit off us 12 onto i-82 (yakima) my vehicle suffered complete engine failure. The brakes did not work and had to rely on the emergency brake, stopping about 100 feet away and nose in traffic. My family to include my 39 weeks pregnant wife, sons (3 & 4), and myself were in the car. During my five emergency brake attempts i hit my head on the frame of the door. I feel that we are lucky to be alive as we had skid a few times before stopping with no further injuries. As of now, i have a splitting headache and my wife is being monitored for signs of fetal distress; all around [xxx] experience. The dodge dealership that i purchased it from refused to lend me a loaner vehicle, said that it happens, and offered to look at it in two weeks; bs!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Like others on this site, i experienced a check engine light indicating a misfire on cylinder 3.i had the vehicle repaired under warranty at champion dodge in indianapolis, in.the shop stated they replaced the entire cylinder head due to a leaking valve.upon retrieving the repaired vehicle, the same issue immediately arose.i took the vehicle back to the shop and the shop is now surmising they received a defective part.i find it hard to believe the same issue occurred twice within a day due to a defective replacement part.either the shop did not replace the part, or chrysler has a serious problem with their cylinder heads.this issue appears to be common, was recognized by chrysler on the 2011-2013 models, but is now an issue with my 2014 model.i have contacted a customer care representative at chrysler who made one attempt to call and is never available.

Car shuts off at speed has light on on dash not sure what it is
Just before my warranty was up i got a check engine light and the car started running really rough almost like it was gonna die when i came to a stop. I called the dealership and they told me they would try to get me in at the next availability. With the end of my warranty closely approaching i told them this wasnā€™t an option. They finally got my car in after i made a few demanding phone calls to the right people and come to find out that somehow some hardware in my engine came loose and it was causing very abnormal wear on my lifters and so they ā€fixedā€¯ the problem. Fast forward a few months and now iā€™ve been having an annoying ticking noise coming from my engine. I tried using seafoam, nada. I tried using lucas high mileage additive, no dice. So i took it to a trusted mechanic as it is now well outside my warranty and he told me ā€itā€™s your liftersā€¯ which i already had a feeling it would be just by listening to the sound as between and idle and acceleration. So being i have over 167k miles on it itā€™s not even worth fixing. Oh and just a side note, my mechanic also mentioned to me that he fixed 4 other journeys that week which tells me that dodge has a serious problem with these model cars that they will not address. Oh and just for the record, i have the garbage 3.6l pentastar engine

My vehicle has shut off without warning three times in the last month.all three times were at low speeds while pulling into a driveway.i then put it in park, pressed my ignition button to off, then pushed the ignition button with my foot on the brake and it started all three times on the first attempt.when it shut off, i lost power steering all three times, so thankfully i was at low speed.i do currently have code p0016 when i scan it with my reader.i had a local mechanic change 1 of my camshaft position sensors because that is what autozone recommended.that didn't solve anything.then i made an appointment at dodge of bloomington, mn to have a lugnut repaired and my check engine light further diagnosed.they replaced the lugnut but told me they didn't have time left in the day to look at light, and said no rental vehicles were available, which is odd considering the 500 vehicles in their lot.so i made an appointment at coon rapids chrysler and they dug around for three hours, told me they couldn't find anything but charged me $500.again no rentals here either.how far do we dig, i have 297,000 miles but other than this recent issue, vehicle has been good.happy to include anything extra you would like.i did have coon rapids chrysler replace a camshaft in spring of 2019 when engine was ticking.that solved the ticking.i did notice my tick is back to about 75% of the sound it was in the spring after my november 29th attempted diagnosis at coon rapids.typing on my phone, so i apologize for a few missed capitalizations.first shutoff was november 15th, recent one was december 15th and then one in between.
I own a 2014 dodge journey with about 51k miles on it. Since yesterday, this vehicle has been shutting off and stalling while i am driving. The radio will flicker on and off and the instrument cluster will show all warning lights in a flashing manner, after a few seconds of that, the car will completely turn off while still in drive. On october 3rd, i was making a right turn, and the vehicle shut off mid turn. The brakes became stiff, lost the ability to steer the wheel and also lost functionality to my hazards. This morning, i was driving this same vehicle to my local dodge/chrysler dealership and the car once again shut off on me. This time i was in the process of taking off from a red light when the vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection. Again, i lost the ability to even use my hazards. I am going to have it towed to my local dealership within the next few hours.
Since owning the vehicle, bought brand new, every so often while driving the radio and all the lights would turn off and then come back on.recently when driving my check engine light came on.at that point it was a friday night my mechanic was already closed so when he opened back up on tuesday i called to bring the car in and on my way there the car started making a horrible noise.while driving down a busy road i felt the acceleration give and i could not get it to accelerate so i started to make way off the highway when the engine just died.had it towed to my mechanic where he cannot figure out why it died.there was no water, all the fluid levels were perfect.he was baffled as to how the engine could just die.he said he has never seen this happen for no reason. Finally found an engine to replace it a month later, but that engine has 96,000 miles on it.

I've had my throttle body fail twice in 8 months. Both while driving, it causes the car to not be able to accelerate.almost was in a horrible accident.
In the past two years i have had multiple electrical problems.the a/c turns on all on its own.the radio changes channels on its own but most important this morning 23 oct 2019 my 2014 dodge journey completely shutdown while i was making a right hand turn.luckily i was able to get off the road safely.

Our 2014 dodge journey's engine is consuming oil with no warning.with no warning light/alarm or puddles of oil on the ground, i had to add over 3 quarts of oil to the engine.due to this, the engine has failed beyond repair.this was presented in the manner of harsh clanking and banging within the engine while driving down the freeway.after having it towed to a local shop, it was found that metal shards were contained within the oil filter.the vehicle now doesn't run correctly even when not in motion.

Catalytic converter began making a popping noise after driving about 2 weeks ago. Then on july 14 2020 was driving to the dentist when i noticed a rattling sound in the area where the catalytic converter would be.
The air bag warning light is on.have to take it to a dealer to find out what's wrong.also the oil filter manifold cracked and leaked oil.had to get it replaced.

These cars have massive oil leaks from bad seals on the oil cooler and filter housing assembly. This can cause your engine failure or a fire.
Appears that the gasket between the engine and transmission is leakingoil. This vehicle is only 4 years old. I still owe alot of money on this vehicle and have changed the oil on a regular basis. Now this !!!! not right !!!!

Hello my name is [xxx] and i a single mother of two small children.i have been the owner of a dodge journey for a little over a year and i have already received two recalls on my vehicle.with these risks come serious consequences and i do not feel safe driving my children in this vehicle.i have contacted the dealership and they told me they are unable to provide me with a loaner vehicle.at this time i am highly upset because basically i have to play russian roulette with mine and my children's live every time i drive my only mode of transportation.i do not think it is appropriate for a company to knowingly allow anyone especially children to drive around in a defective vehicle that can at any given moment cause serious injury or even death without providing an alternative until the problem can be fixed.i am very upset and am considering looking into getting a lawyer to defend my rights as a consumer.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I bought my vehicle in 2017. Before a year of owning it i got into a wreck because my cruise control wouldnt turn off and instead started accelerating more. Then i started having issues with my catalytic converter took it to the dealership and they said there was no way. Shortly after the rest of my systems started to go along with itnow it's been about 6 months and i have a vehicle that can no longer move or so anything. Once my catalytic converter went out it started clogging the rest of my system. As of september 2019 my engine is now completely gone because of all the back up not being processed by my catcon

While driving a short distance, 36 miles, the dodge starts to overheat. It has been in service three times for this issue and no diagnosis has been made. Upon starting the car, it shakes and after a minute it subsides within minutes of starting the oil temp jumps to 231 degrees or higher. I have had to drive with the heat on high in order to bring the temperature down and even with it on the lowest temp is still 226 after 10/15 minutes. This issue has been ongoing since july 2020.
The car stalled on me twice nearly getting into a wreck. Took it to the dealership where i bought it from they put it on the computer. They said that they could not find anything wrong.then about 21/2 weeks later it did it again. I have a print out of the computer analysis.

There's a few recalls on my 2014 dodge journey awd sxt that i've called and they said they don't have the parts and to call back in a few months. I just called now and they gave me the loop around transferring me to the front then back to service where i was placed on hold and then it rang to the front desks number and i had to leave a voicemail. Totally incompetent. This is at the dodge dealership in colorado springs.

This car has just a little over 33145 miles and i just found out that the rotors on the back have rusted so bad that they wore out the back bracks and cannot be turned down they have to be replaced. I had my grandchildren in this car less than 2 weeks ago and my car was inspected in august by a dodge dealer and then i took it back on 8/28/17 because the brake light was on they said the brakes were fine i have it on the invoice front brakes 10/32 80% and 7/32 60% but they said they were fine there no way that rusted in 2 months to that point. I will have midas take a picture of those rotors when they fix my car tomorrow $600.00 for car repairs this week alone. Dodge need to pay for my rotors and labor and they are refusing because i will not take it back to the dealer. I will not have mine or my families lives risked again. I am done with dodge two brand new dodge journeys in 4 years and major problems with the brakes, low headlight beams and electrical issues not to mention 2 recalls. I just found out today all this
Wife got into car to go to store told me done lights would not go off.
"the car loses power unexpectedly while driving at various different speeds or sometimes just won't start after driving but if u wait twenty minutes it might just decide to restart, the ac sometimes will only blow out very hot heat, the cruise control won't turn off and has accelerated from being set at 55 to 75 on its own without being able to turn off, it has went into limp mode at several different speeds and in 2018 wouldn't turn off from in the run position in a result of a completely drained battery and was told engine needed to be replaced which i had replaced, the catalytic converter completely disconnected from the front which i also had replaced, wheel bearings bad costing numerous tire changes since purchasing it in 2013 until someone finally told me in 2020 what was wrong only at the cost of several tires and a wheel alignment, the stability warning light comes on and turns off randomly but if i try to push the button it won't turn it back on or off and the throttle control light comes on and car goes into limp mode drives like this for a day then can go days or months with all warning lights turning off and car runs just fine until it decides to do anyone one of these problems! i have told the dealership that the vehicle has a malfunctioning computer since purchasing it in 2013! the vehicle is unsafe lemon! it has caused me anxiety, and repeated traumatic events of almost getting into an accident or being left stranded for hours! i go into a store and i panic never knowing if the vehicle will start or decide to act possessed!"i recently went to a dodge dealership to get the safety recalls done on the vehicle and dodge has informed me they will not do the recalls because i have replaced the engine! the safety recalls must be done and if they can't do it then they need to provide me w a new vehicle free of charge or give me the money back i paid!

There is a u67 by fca recall on my 2014 dodge journey which i was not notified by the dealer! i found out about the recall after paying to have the catalytic converter replaced mysel! however my car decided to go into a limp mode which it has done since i purchased the vehicle in 2013 but this time it is staying in limp mode so i researched recalls, there is also t47 and u49 when i towed my vehicle to the dealer they informed me the converter i had put on does not meet standards and they were going to replace it again and also do the other two recalls as well and then they informed me they could not do the u49 or u67 because the vehicle does not have the original engine! they told me and gave me documentation that the only recall done was t47 however they reported to fca that the u67 was complete when in fact it has not been completed!the vehicle is stuck in limp mode because it needs the pcm flashed and they will not do the recall u67 or u49 on my vehicle and sent me away to drive the vehicle 89 miles home in limp mode! this vehicle had had a pcm issue since i bought it in 2013 causing a number of unsafe malfunctions i mentioned in complaint # 11337435 and 11337440! this vehicle needs to be taken off the road and a new vehicle given to me free of charge or money back! fca needs to know u67 has not been completed on my vehicle,
While in drive for the automatic transmission or auto-shift option, whether in motion or not, the gearshift does not lock moving the shift knob from drive to any gear above neutral.most gearshafts in automatic transmission vehicles lock at neutral and the brake must depress before going into reverse or park.this vehicle has no such preventative method against permanent damage to the drivetrain/transmission/engine.
Rear passenger side tire's tread just peeled up and pulled off the under skirt, pulled part of back bumper loose. Pulled off the plastic up in side the wheel carriage and also busted my gas line. I was driving on a straight road and it just happened. I didn't run over or hit anything.

Brought it to dodge dealership and the diagnosis it saying i need a new pcm and wire harness. Those items were replaced. 2 to 3 weeks after that work. Car goes into limp mode again while on the hwy.

Bought this journey august 2014 , since day one we notice the tranny doesn't shift right and has bad pick up you cant even get out of your own way . , we complained and the dealer doesn't do anything says oh this is normal. No way i shouldn't get a backache every time i drive this journey. You can be driving and when u start slowing down it feels like ur being hit from behind when the tranny shifts . Or if coming to a stop sign then you hit gas it shifts the same way . Horrible and a waste of money i will go again for the 10 th time and if they don't fix this , time to take them to court lemon law time ..
While driving on a highway going straight at 60 mph my vehicle shuts off. We then have to stop the vehicle to restart it. This has been happening about 1x a week for about a month. There are no codes and all engine information reads fine.
I bought this car on november 2013. After first/second week of use i realized that when driving the car was pulling to the right. I went to the dealership and tried to make an alignment without success. Then the problem came back and went to dealership (like 5 times) and they said that were the tires (20,000 miles on that moment). So, several weeks after tire replacement the car pulling came back and now with 40k+ miles on odometer the problem persist. Actually i will buy 4 more tires for second time and the car is aligned. I measured the chasis but was ok with no bents or damage but i tried to measure the wheelbase of the car (from center to center of the wheels on left and right side). Surprisingly the left side measures 115 inches and the right side measures 114 inches (here is the problem). Actually i'm asking for car replacement in a court case.ps - during the first month of use, i tested a 9miles vehicle (same brand, same configuration) and has the same problem and the dealership did nothing.updated 12/13/2017

Driving alone a city street and pulled into a shop and the car had a cloud of smoke, as i was parking, then noticed fluid running from underneath.i didn't know what had happen.a refund for repairs on this vehicle would help.and effort to someone letting me know why this happened , is the question

While driving from from grand rapids and arriving to michigan city, indiana, i hear a noise that mimicked that of a flat tire. I immediatelymade a right turn into the parking lot to check each one of my tires, but none of them were low or completely deflated. I drove up a bitto park my vehicle, so i couldfurther investigate and it stalled. When i got out of the vehicle, i smelled a light burning smell coming from underneath tbe vehicle and i just let it sit, while calling my insurance company's roadside assistance to obtain support. I had the vehicle towed back to grand rapids costing me $401 because my insurance only paid up to 15 miles for towing and this drive was approximately a 125 mile drive. Due to covid, i had to pay out of pocket for a ride back to grand rapids as well. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where i purchasedthe car back inapril 2015 and after the delearship checked to diagnose the vehicle, i received a phone call saying it was my all wheel drive powertrain unit/system and it had busted and was leaking fluid. The quote that the gentleman gave was a whopping $2200 and some change. I really thought i remembered purchasing a powertrain warranty, but is there a way to find out for sure if i did? i would appreciate more guidance on this situation because i am out of thousands of dollars and would love to have some financial assistance, if possible. Also, i wanted to initiate a recall for this because if i had been still on the highway driving, this could have turned out way different and i would hate to hear that others may not be as blessed as i was. I do not have my invoice yet because they are working on fixing my car still. I will save it once i do, if needed. Thank youin advance for investigating this safety concern and have a great day!

The dodge journey rolls back on hills. It is dangerous and i'm sure caused accidents. I have an automatic and it never holds the vehicle, it just rolls back. In this day and age it's absolutely a major fault. You have to let brake go and hit accelerator. Dangerous.also the radio wit maps and directions is broken for 2nd time.

The vehicle was in a car accident. My daughter was sitting behind me. Which i was the driver and she was behind me on the left rear. My daughter had the seat belt on and so did i. My concern is why did my daughter ended up going all the way forward hitting me from behind with her knees that the next day my behind was hurting g. Will my daughter on the mean time during the accident her head hurtled, nose, and upper and lower back. It seems the seat belt did not lock as soon as the impact because if it had. My daughter would not had gotten a bump on her nose that hurtled which it means she ended hitting my seat where you rest your head. Two her knees hurted when she went forward to my seat and hit me. Three, it made her head too much forward and backward that she got a huge bump on the head and the entire back hurted. For me my head hurted, shoulders and but. But for me the seat belt i felt it lock instantly. This impact was from behind while i was waiting for the light to turn green. The accident was hurtful but not to server of a total lost on my end. My daughter did go to the hospital. This is why it concerns me.

Owned this 'vehicle' for almost a year (13,500 miles - had some miles from dealer). Brakes have been replaced twice due to master cylinder and related issues. Additional five recalls on top of that - one related but not included in the actual recall because i haven't had an accident... Yet....was being unable to disengage the seat belt - on a normal day - every day. I am now on my 2nd senior supervisor at chevrolet telling them to come pick the thing up. Naturally chevy's stance is to keep repairing the vehicle - not call it what it is, a bad product and take it back. So, multiple trips to different chevy repair shops, all setup by chevy customer service of course, and quite frankly i prefer the loaner vehicles because at least you don't have to stand on the brakes to keep it from rolling forward...or backward on a hill...or keep two car lengths behind because emergency braking is not an option. Trade in value is less than half what i paid, and i'm afraid the next owner might be seriously injured. My grandmother and my son won't ride in it...rest of the family doesn't want to even try after hearing the stories. So, don't buy one of these vehicles. Chevy will not stand behind their product, and admit when they manufacture an accident waiting to happen. All vehicles have recalls. I've owned 5 chevy's. Never again. Actually considering letting them repo the vehicle just to get rid of it. Buyer beware.
The driver side air bag indicator lightand seat belt signs will not turn off! the seat belt will constantly come a loose while driving. Even when the seat beat is on, these lights and the beeping will not stop!
The car was stationary when i had mt 8 year old step daughter to seat on the 3rd row of the car and she was putting the seat belt on the left sideof the car and she was not able to since the buckle came off. I told her to move to the other side and same thing happen. The buckle part on both sides came off. This is a big safety issue for me since i olways use the 3rd row in my car and now i can't since we can't use the seat bellts.
The seatbelt on drivers and passenger side does not lock in place and will not go in and out.been like this since the day we bought it.
I was driving my dodge journey one day and the seat belt light came on showing that somebody wasn't buckled but i was the only one in the car. So i leaned forward and my seat belt came unlocked. I thought to myself thinking it was just me maybe i didn't buckle it in right. Then i buckled up again and later on that day my wife was driving and it did the same thing. She said she heard a click noise and the seat belt light and ding noise came on so she leaned forward and the seat belt was not locked it had came unlocked from the driver seat part that you connect the strap into. It continued to happen off and on and now we wiggle it to make sure it stays locked but sometimes it doesn't work. The seat belt will click and lock but will some how it comes undone later while we are driving. So we hear the click noise when it locks and we pull on it to make sure it stays locked and it does fine sometimes and then other days it comes unlocked while we are driving. Now we know when its going to come unlocked because you can hear it make a click noise and the seat belt light and dinging noise comes on and we right away know its our seat belt that came unlocked. We called to dealership so we can get it fixed just recently but wont be able to get our vehicle in until middle of september and called another dealership but wont be able to get it in for about 3 weeks. This is the driver side seat belt. We travel alot for doctors appointments for our youngest child who has a disability so this makes me very worried.
The passenger side headrest deployed for no reason. The car was not on and it "popped" without anyone touching it and thank god noone was in the seat at the time. But yet i have a dodge dealership trying to charge me over 400.00 to rest a headrest. Really dodge???
Drivers side headrest restraint deployed while driving in normal conditions
My daughter and i were driving on a smooth street, when suddenly the passenger side headrest popped forward. It struck my daughter in the back of the head quite hard causing her to have a sore neck, and possibly need medical attention if it is not better in a day or so.this is completely unacceptable.in the long line of problems with this vehicle and numerous recalls, there is now an injury. I feel like i have to worry about my driver side headrest doing the same while i am driving. This car is literally falling apart. As a life long dodge owner, i don't think i could ever buy another.
In august 2017 i came out to get into the car and the drivers side headrest had parked in the driveway deployed overnight. Next day we were sitting in the car waiting for food to be delivered and the passenger side headrest deployed striking my daughter in the face hard enough to leave a bruise. Headrest will not reset and dealership states that it is a manufacturer defect but will not replace them. Vehicle was at 80000 miles at the time so no longer under full warranty, but the manufacturer should have to replace faulty safety equipment regardless.
Driver side active head restraint deployed while stopped at stoplight. Fortunately was sitting forward enough it did not hurt my wife. From closer inspection it appears plastic gave out allowing active head restraint to deploy.
I was sitting in the drive thru when my son and i heard a pop noise thanhe said that hurt his head. The headrest just popped out for no reason. I don't know why this happen but it shouldn't have happen.
My 2014 dodge journey has never been in any kind of accident. One day i came out to my parked journey and noticed the headrest on the passenger seat popped out of place. The plastic brackets that latch to the metal bar broke. I contacted dodge to make them aware of the issue and said there was nothing they could do.
Driver's side active headrest deployed while vehicle was sitting in the driveway, unoccupied. Reported incident to dealer online but they never responded. I asked about it in person, they said they could replace the headrest for $480... No, thank you!
The passenger side headrest in my 2014 journey deployed without cause.it slammed my wife in the back of the head.i was driving down a smooth highway at approximately 50 mph.
The front passenger headrest deployed for no reason. The car wasn't even running when it happened.
On 5/6/21, while the vehicle was running and stationary, waiting to turn left through an intersection on city streets, the ahr (active head restraint) randomly deployed in the driver headrest. My husband, who was driving at the time, thought we had been rear ended due to the loud noise it made and the force with which it hit the back of his head. The vehicle has never been in a collision and is up to date on maintenance. Researching the ahr online brought up dozens of articles about this problems occurring in dodge journeys (yr 2010- 2018) but it has yet to officially be listed for recall even though a class action lawsuit was filed for the issue. We called our local dodge dealership and they informed us the headrest could not be repaired once deployed and that a new one was needed, quoting us roughly $575.00 to do so.
The vehicle was stationary and turned off, the headrest to the seat was found deployed and the plastic clips broken off. Headrest is not able to be repaired without replacement. The headrest is quite powerful, and if was in the car was in motion when this happened could have caused serious injury or an accident.
Wife was sitting in car in supermarket parking lot ...talking on phone...car was parked and not running...no impacts involved...drivers side headrest activated...inspection of headrest shows interior plastic frame holding steel pin shattered...headrest had to be replaced...would have been a safety issue if car was being driven...luckily air bag didn't deploy
Headrest deploying randomly. No accident. Command out to car one day and headrest was deployed. After research and looking headrest plastic clip have failed and caused headrest to deploy
The front passenger side headrest deployed randomly while the car was at rest in the curb lane. Upon looking at the inside of the headrest, the plastic brackets that prevent it from deploying have cracked and broken.
Head restraint automatically deployed while i was driving going 70 mph on the highway hitting me in the back of the head.the dealer karl klement chrysler jeep dodge in decatur texas refuses to repair it at no cost because there is no recall.
Every single one of my cars headrests rattle and move loosely in position. There are also no rubber support pieces around the incert/adjustment beams to secure the headrest in place properly.
Active head restraint deployed while the car was stationary. Upon investigation, small clips within the headrest snapped, causing the headrest to deploy, even though there was no collision to the vehicle, shooting toward the passenger's head
Head rest broke when we leaned back to grab a toy. The linkage to the wipers (to spray the windshield) broke a few days ago. We noticed it when spraying the windshield.
Put car in reverse. Backing out of driveway. Headrest exploded into my head. Popped out about 3 to 4 inches. Pushed my head forward a foot.car was in motion. No contact with anything.
Driver seat active headrest restraint deployed without cause while vehicle was parked in garage.this was caused by the plastic retaining pin brackets breaking.
I was riding down the highway by myself and heard a loud snapping noise. I looked towards my passenger seat and noticed that the headrest had ejected from its casing. I have called the dealership and was told that i would have to $500+ to get a new headrest. This is highly unacceptable and dangerous. I can understand if i damaged it or got into an accident, but no one was sitting in the seat when this happened. If my wife would have been sitting there, we would probably be at the hospital with neck injuries considering the force that it ejected at. Dodge needs to fix this before this happens to someone who is driving and causes an accident or even a fatality.
Head rest air bag deployed while car was just sitting still in yard. Went out to go to town and saw it had deployed
Recived recall of the abs moduel, passenger seat sometime falls for no reason.has been taken to the dealer due to the car to going into gear and not coming out of gear. The contact owned a 2014 dodge journey. While driving approximately 40 mph in the rain, the brakes failed when he attempted to slow down the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a tree. The abs light illuminated when it started raining. The driver sustained cuts and bruises that did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and was later deemed destroyed by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was an unknown recall for the antilock brakes. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

I have had my cruise control sensor replaced multiple times within the last two years due to it not activating. After the last repair within 3 months it again stopped acting ating. This was about 8 months ago. 3 weeks ago i went to release my parking brake and heard a loud thud sound. The foot pedal would no longer catch and simply made a clicking sound. I had already scheduled an appointment for december 16, 2019 to repair my catalytic converter due to a recall that had been issued and let the service department know i had concerns with what possibly could be my emergency brake cable. They told me i could pay to gave it diagnosed but i let them know i would have to reschedule.within this last week my truck has been flashing the traction warning light as well as the electronic throttle control sensor light which seems to come on sporadically. I am concerned that the emergency brake line could have been caught through a recall for approximately 276,000 model-year 2012-15 dodge journey suvs manufactured between april 21, 2012, and april 14, 2015.this seal of the wiring harness may have prevent water from getting into the system on my truck. After doing some research the problem may be my speed sensor, which is a major component of the abs system. The constant replacing of the cruise control may have been a sign that this system was being affected.

When driving the vehicle steering will lock up, lose power and lose brakes. Have to force to turn and use emergency brakes to stop the car. Not the first time it's now has happen a total of 5 times.
I had a auto accident i feel was caused by this brake recall. My brakes have failed again. Luckly no one else was at stop sign. I called immediately when i hot the notice and they can not fix my brakes until aug 31 i was on a city street each time
Vehicle shuts off while driving it. Car starts back up and running fines. It has shut off going through and intersection. Lucky no traffic was coming from any direction.car will start back up every time. Have seen lots of complaints about this vehicle and issue.

I was coming to stop sign and applied brakes. I had to push them all the way down for the car eventually stop after the stop sign. I pumped the brakes a few times and then they worked fine. A few weeks later i was coming to a stop again and i had to push brakes all the way down. I stopped again past the stop sign. I pumped the brakes and they worked again. It happen two more time weeks apart but the last time i pumped the brakes and hit the gas then brakes and they worked. I drove about half a block tried to stop and brakes had to be pushed all the way down. I pumped them again and went forward hit the brakes and they worked. I went forward slowly for about half a mile and when i tried slow little to turn brakes went all the way to the floor.i parked and called tow truck. I took the car to dodge after 2nd incident and they could not find anything wrong. After 4th incident i took it to someone different and the could not find anything wrong. 552(b)(6).

Earlier this year, my abs light came on in my car. I scanned it and pulled a code indicating that that right front wheel speed sensor had gone bad. I replaced the sensor, and cleared the code. A few months later, while driving during a thunderstorm, the light came back on. I scanned my car again, and the same code came up. The next day, after the weather was clear, the light had gone back off. Now, any time it rains or gets very cold, the light comes back on.

At first, when i started the car, it had trouble turning on, so i waited a while to try again and it did. While i was driving it smelled like something was burning and i noticed that both the abs and brake light when off. I pulled over on the side of the highway and turned off the car. I go to turn it on again and it just didn't after that.
Helloi have received a recall warning for my vehicle r61 nhtsa 1v-675. Today i called a dodge dealership to schedule a repair and was told minimum a month because it take that long to get the part in. I was also told that they do not keep the parts on hand and order when people call to fix the recall. With a recall like this that affects the breaking system and can cause a crash and the driver not aware it a major safety concern. Why send out a recall if dodge or chrysler is not going to fix the issue in a more realistic time frame. One month and then take due to schedule is unacceptable. So in the mean time i just pray that i do not have a accident and not harm myself. Family, or someone else. Chrysler needs to be held accountable. I regret the day i bought this car due to how poorly it is built. Now that needs to be investigated as well.

I received recall notice r61/nhtsa 15v-675 regarding my vehicle's anti-lock break system control module. The notice states that the electronic stability control system could be affected. This month i was driving with my 2 young children, stopped at a red light when my electronic control system shut down in my car unannounced, then suddenly turned itself back on. I was nervous because i was driving with 2 small children, so i immediately went home. I was already informed by my dodge dealer that chrysler is not even manufacturing this particular replacement part, so who knows how long it might be before my car can be repaired. When i received notice r32, i drove around for 2 months before my dodge dealer finally called to inform me they had the available part. I have been in contact with chrysler and told them what happened to my vehicle. I was promised a rental car to drive until this part became available, but i was only given a rental car for one day. I am still driving around unsafely because this is my only vehicle, and i don't know when it will be fixed. This recall scares me because it is already showing effects of deformity and affecting my vehicle's control operations and i have 2 kids with me.
Purchased at monroeville dodge pittsburgh pa. My brake calipers had become discolored and i became concerned. I asked the service representative to inspect my brakes and brake calipers. I was informed there was nothing wrong. I did take pictures of the brake calipers on all four wheels and found the discoloration through out the car. I find this unacceptable for a new car and forwarded my complaint to dodge.com. I have yet to receive a recall or notice that my complaint was registered. At thirteen months i had to have my front rotors resurfaced for a fee $125.00. The service manager stated i just missed the one year on brakes on i had to pay. My brake calipers are still discolored now.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning.
I received two recalls on the above vehicle. The first says the engine beauty cover may come loose and come in contact with catalytic converter resulting in a fire.the second has to do with a ground wire on the right front shock of the anti-lock brake module. The wire allows water to wick through into the abs module which can disable the abs and/or the electronic stability control. The lack of functioning abs and/or esc systems could change the braking and/or handling characteristics of the vehicle and cause a crash without warning.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving at various speeds downhill and depressing the brake pedal, the abs warning indicator illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle would hydroplane in the rain. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited decreased stopping power due to the braking failure. The contact also complained of a loud abnormal humming noise coming from the engine when the vehicle was started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic) but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Complaints involving idler pulley and brake system. On june 4, 2017, while driving on the interstate, my steering wheel locked up. I was able to pull to the side of the road and then the car started malfunctioning.it completely died and would not start.i found out from the dealership on june 5, 2017 that the issue was related to the idler pulley crumbling which in-turn caused the serpentine belt to break.on july 9, 2017, i was at a stop light on the i-10 frontage road.when the light turned green, i could not go because the brakes locked up.i had to put the car in park, turn it off and then turn it back on in order for the brakes to loosen up.to say i'm frustrated with dodge is an understatement.during both instances, my 8-yr old daughter was in the car with me.i've only had this car for three years, it isn't paid off and i'm having these problems that could potentially be life threatening.a recall needs to happen with this vehicle!!!
I bought this vehicle about a year ago when it only had 16k miles on it and i just found out that my vehicle had warped rotors and brakes with now only 27k miles on it. After only having it for a year none of this should be going on with it.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the brakes failed. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was able to be restarted. Once the vehicle restarted, it continuously backfired. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The first day drove this brand new dodge journey to work. And came back with the hood released. The only thing it could happen was i accidentally touch the hood release handle when i apply/release the parking brake, because they are too closed. It is a really bad design.
Two days ago my abs and esc light came on, i have also noticed since then i have no cruise control. In the winter here the roads are quite sick, and the antilock brakes that are on this vehicle no longer function. When i was driving into work and came to a stop light, i tried to stop and kept sliding as a result.
I was driving with my girlfriend.we just got over the top of a hill and going down hill at about 35 to 40 mph.the vehicle shut off.no power steering and no brakes.stopped 5 feet from a telephone pole.vehicle was towed to liccardi dodge.they did not find anything wrong with the car.we were shaken up from the incident and i traded the vehicle in fearing for my life.i had only made one payment on the car so i had $16,000 of inequity.i traded it in on 9/29/14 not taking chances.i now have a huge debt on the new car because of this and huge payments.very disappointed.had the vehicle for 2 months.

Since the steering wheel recall was fixed. My ac controls now turn thereselves on and off as well as my radio when ever. Its been an ongoing issue. Dodge states they fixed the issed. I continue to smell burning plastic.
Journey will drive and turn just fine, then without warning it becomes extremely hard to turn or will not turn at all, especially on a right turn. It happens most often when going 20mph or less (even more often when backing up). I almost hit someone saturday because it locked up in the middle of my turn. It has been happening several times a day. I took it to dealer before and they couldn't find anything they said. I dropped it off again today and told them to try driving it on parking lot slow and to back up and drive forward a few times because that is when it does it most, but they just pulled it in shop, so doubt they will do anything today either. It is dangerous. I have about 30,000 miles on it now and they say if they don't find it before it hits 36,000 then it won't be covered. It has a serious issue that needs resolving. Last time it happened was last night when i parked it in front of the dealer, but it has been doing it for a long time and becoming much more frequent. Thank you.
Loss of power steering fluid began in the fall. Then the check engine light began to come on when i would drive around a bend. Now about 2 months later the traction control randomly turns off while driving.
When driving the vehicle steering will lock up, lose power and lose brakes. Have to force to turn and use emergency brakes to stop the car. Not the first time it's now has happen a total of 5 times.
The car stalled on me twice nearly getting into a wreck. Took it to the dealership where i bought it from they put it on the computer. They said that they could not find anything wrong.then about 21/2 weeks later it did it again. I have a print out of the computer analysis.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Vehicle shuts off while driving it. Car starts back up and running fines. It has shut off going through and intersection. Lucky no traffic was coming from any direction.car will start back up every time. Have seen lots of complaints about this vehicle and issue.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that when the ignition was turned on with the starter key, an independent mechanic that was near informed the contact that the transmission was slipping. The independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and informed that the power steering pump also needed replacement. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was confirmed that the transmission slipped and the power steering pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,700.
As iwas parking my 2014 dodge journey in front of my home the steering went out on me.i could no longer steer the car.previous to it going out iheard a knocking noise every time i turned the wheel.after the steering went out when iturned to the left there was a hissing sound. Of course it is not covered under warranty.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that the tpms warning indicator illuminated numerous times. The dealer refilled the air, but did not inspect the factory tires to determine if they had a leak. The contact constantly had to refill the tires with air. The dealer replaced all four tires, but the failure continued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was not available. Updated 12/23/16*ljthe consumer also stated there was a noise coming from the power steering pump, when making turns. Updated 01/04/17.
2014 dodge journey. Consumer write in regards to steering wheel recall. *vathe consumer stated after the transmission and steering recall was completed the steering wheel became loose.
Our vehicle would vibrate while we were driving at highway speeds. We thought this was a normal thing with the dodge journey but asked the dealership to look at the issue anyways. After an inspection, our tires on our 6-month old car had been worn down and needed to be replaced. The tire company requested an alignment check and it was discovered that the right side inner and outer tie rods are bent. We have not been in any accidents/car collisions. I have contacted the chrysler corp about this issue who is looking into it further but claim there may have been some physical damage to the vehicle. We have been in no accidents and have only had cosmetic work done to the left side door (paint only).
Have had the hood release next ot the parking brake pedal. Open the hood without notification.the brake pedal is to close in proximity to the hood latch. Each time you release the parking brake the hoodreleases.
We were hit on our entire passenger side by an out of control driver, the side or front airbag did not deploy, my wifes hand was broke and my sons head bounced off the back passenger window.
Driving alone a city street and pulled into a shop and the car had a cloud of smoke, as i was parking, then noticed fluid running from underneath.i didn't know what had happen.a refund for repairs on this vehicle would help.and effort to someone letting me know why this happened , is the question
My airbags did not deploy in a head on collision. My vehicle was traveling at 45 with right away and his at 10.i was on straight away and he was at a stop sign turning in the direction i was coming....updated 02/22/17
Kept losing air pressure in the front driver side tire. Wheel sensor defective. A/c kept coming on by itself and the front bumper paint peeling off.
The first day drove this brand new dodge journey to work. And came back with the hood released. The only thing it could happen was i accidentally touch the hood release handle when i apply/release the parking brake, because they are too closed. It is a really bad design.
I just bought this vehicle in august 2014 and this is the 2nd time that my hood has come opened! i called the dealership where i bought the vehicle to inquire if there were any recalls and was told no. I then asked for the service department to look into why this is happening. And was told i would need to take it a dodge dealer for assistance even though i bought the 5 year warranty? i called the nearest dodge dealer and was told that the hood release is to the left of the emergency brake, knee level. And when you release the emergency brake, the hood latch will unlatch. This is too scary as this is the 2nd time and i drive a long distance on the highway to work. The service guy named [xxx] told me not to worry, it has a security lock latch.that's it i am trading it in for another make, model vehicle, i fell in love with vehicle when i rented one. But not enough to get me killed. So that means i have to stay off the highways until i can replace it.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The abs light came on and the skidding light came on and it said to check the awdivehicle was in motion on a city street and wouldn't go over 10 miles per hour.garageput testers on it said sensor was bad- we replaced it and then it happened again and the tester said it was the axle (left front). Replaced it- stopped again .checked the wiring and the tester said it was okay but it is still stopping when i am driving it.
Thanks
Front driver side door wiring caught on fire while driving, which now none of the windows work.
I bought the car on 5/28/15,dealership did notinform me of any recalls on this car.plus they had promised 3 years of free oil changes, sold us extended warranty for life but does not say what percentage they will cover.plus we also have mopar warranty of 100,000 miles.when i went to get my oil changed on oct 30,2015 they asked for coupon which neither me nor my husband knew of any coupon and we told service desk clerk they were suppose to be free.he then called the salesperson that sold us the car,and ask him if he told us about 3 year free oil changes and the salesperson stated to us he did not recall saying such a thing to us.well, we were pretty upset by the dealership lying to us.service guy said they would do it this time but next time we would have to pay for oil change.they did not have us sign any papers saying they could work on our car and proceeded to pull it into the bay and changed the oil,i do not believe they did any check points on our car at that point so i do not believe anything was documented whether they are trying to void our car warranty or what.when they were done they gave us our car keys but still did not give us any papers showing any type of oil change or where they are suppose to do a 27 point check.i did send them any e-mail stating i want a reciept, and i am calling them on 11-02-15 and again stating about a document were they servcied my car.this service department is very rude and very hard to deal with.i paid alot for that car and expect good service, and both me and my husband are upset over the whole ordeal since they are going back on there word.plus they also told us they would give us a coupon on our next oil change, but they did not give us any coupon either.the car dealership is thomas garage,in st.clairsville, ohio there phone number is 740-695-0452
My wife was driving our kids around town and the vehicle stalled out as they were approaching a stop sign.
Car constantly locks it self even with the keys in it. With car on or off or while driving you hear it constantly locking
2014 dodge journey purchased new from dealer, i month later radio panel would go blank for a few seconds and come back on , had taken it to the dealer wea told could not find any issues, at this time it is still happening, alsoi take my journey in for service every 3500-4000 for service i was told i need 2 new front tires khumo tires at that time i had only 27000 miles he showed how the threads are showing through the rubber , i have not abused driving of my journey service person said to me that looking at the tires he could tell that i do not abuse the driving of this auto i obey all speed limits, if someone wants to go fast on the road i let them go past me ,i am a handicapped person , but i am not going to buy 2 new tires, i want the manufacturer replace my tires, i will continue to drive this journey, and if the tires blow, then i will hold everyone responsible of putting money value over a persons safety, please understand that the dealers said it was going to cost over $300 to replace these tires , i have not put 30000 miles on my journey as of this day so i feel there should be a replacement or some kind of a big discount, now for may radio panel that goes blank every so often i do not have the answer and as the service person said the same, so i just hope that i or my wife to not get injured when i'm driving if the tires give out. Anyone else have this issue?
Kept losing air pressure in the front driver side tire. Wheel sensor defective. A/c kept coming on by itself and the front bumper paint peeling off.
During drive the car shuts down, i have taken it to the dealer, and they say nothing is coming up and they only have had it for 3 days, i told the dealership that it shuts down when it wants to.
While driving on the freeway i've notice whit smoke coming out of my engine. I pulled over and found that the heaterhose fitting broke off causing coolant to leak.
While operating the vehicle it shuts off while in motion. The front and rear windshield wipers turn on and off by themselves as well as the lights. It throws multiple codes then everything goes back to normal. It has happened many times while traveling at highway speeds turning into an out of control vehicle. It is a safety hazzard to all motorists.
Passenger headrest imploded without warning. Car was not in motion.
I have tons of documentation of the work that has been done please advise if you should need any
I received two recalls on the above vehicle.
The factory installed headlamps are too dim in complete darkness.i replaced mine out with sylvania bright white lights at a cost of around $50.00.i also replaced the headlights on my previous car, a 2013 dodge avenger.i think dodge needs to consider how this affects night-time driving on these models.i think it is very unsafe to drive in the dark or fog with those old lights.
Faulty alternator
I have a recall notice and cannot reach the tyler autonation to find out info and schedule needed service.noone has returned our calls.
While driving my car 2014 dodge journey i tested my cruise control at 30 miles an hour and two lane road heading in the same direction and it increase speed from 30 miles per hour on its own i'll praise to about 50 two small children in the back and wife couldn't stop car with brakes all i would do is jerk it and we can accelerate ended up clipping an mbta bus with non-injury there's no cars in front of me thought of neutral popped into mind and snacking in the neutral stopped after hitting brakes sold this car from boch new to you certified pre-owned vehicle with 60,000 miles on it may 17th recall was out for this drivetrain cruise control issue and i bought it in august both of 2018 car dealership sold me a recalled car pre-owned certified got me in a car accident with my 18 month old 3 month old + wife what to do? this was on tulane both way streets in the city when testing control hat easily a hundred to two hundred yards length between car in front of me but quickly kept up with them and had to maneuver between a boss and large suv just made it through the hole on the car in front of us instead of rear-ending it clipping mirror in rear end of car that's when the opening with nothing in front of me panic stops and smacked into neutral
Engine light on - detected that the engine oil pressure sensorcircuit needs to be replace. Failure code zz. According to the technical service bulletin; this has been an on-going problem with the dodge journey but has yet to be a recall on this issue. The vehicle was stationary when the engine light came on.
Vehicle airbags and powder/smoke deployed on myself and my toddlers when the vehicle was not moving.
Crankshaft sensor failure has failed. It is not covered from the insurance companies and causes other systems to fail. It causes the car to smoke and have a heavy odor (said to be oil by the technician). It also causes the car to have situations with starting, shifting gears and almost cutting off as a person is driving. If speed limit is 60mph it will not transfer gear till it is ready. So imagine going 40mph on a 60mph road and it is in stall mode. Stall mode is when it will not transfer to the 2nd gear. So could you think of if a semi truck being behind you and isn't slowing down? other system failures are not seen until after the problem comes back. I put my car into the shop on 06/11/2021. Picked it up on 06/15/2021and not even 30 minutes later had to return back to the shop. Now my car is diagnose with larger problems with no reason except the sensor was leaking and insurance would not cover it. Now even the manager was unclear as to why.the only lights that will come on are the malfunction light (it looks like a transmission) and a hazard sign within lines (electrical throttle). They will come and go however the smell will not and sounds(sounds like your engine is about to cut off without warning) will not stop. It also sounds like it is hard to start up (manager referred to it as a misfire). Good way to have a accident without warning and i felt very unsafe. Only to pay 676.00 for the same thing occurring.
The catalytic converter has been replaced 2 times in less than 7 months because it keeps burning up. There needs to be a recall on the 2014 dodge journey because this is not a cheap fix!!!
Dodge states there is a recall on the catalytic converter. The dealer will replace the part but states that it is a bolt in bolt out part and the labor to get to the part will be $1100. The labor is not covered. I also contacted corporate dodge and i would need to pay and be reimbursed. Dodge contacted us for the recall, we did not initiate the issue.
The vehicle died after 4 years a new battery was put in and for the next 17 months the car has died 7 times and second battery was put in.there is a power drain which the dealer cannot locate.there is never an indication while driving of losing power, however, if the vehicle sits for more than 5 days it dies and must be jump started.
Car locking and unlocking on its own, no key detected, the car was stationary, in my yard and at different stores, the car has been looked at several times in the past 2 yrs, unknown,
The car started tolose power. I was drving on a busy highway then the electronic throttle light came on.no previous warning that something was wrong.the speed limit is 60 mph i was in a curve so i had slowed down to 45.i saw where there wereother comolaints abou similar situation
While driving 20mph and a flat straight road, the driver side headrest deployed without being in an accident and hit my wife in the head.
Rear passenger side tire's tread just peeled up and pulled off the under skirt, pulled part of back bumper loose. Pulled off the plastic up in side the wheel carriage and also busted my gas line. I was driving on a straight road and it just happened. I didn't run over or hit anything.
While driving down the high way our car shut off, my husband couldn't break or steer it took about 45 seconds to turn back on. It has done this about ten times since, we have had it looked at and no codes have been off. It has also turned on windshield wipers and lights all randomly and locked and unlocked all on its own. We have three children and this is our only car. To say were terrified is a understatement we live in the city, we are once again having it looked at again in hopes someone can fix it after learning its actually happened to a lot of people.
The passenger side headrest in my 2014 journey deployed without cause.it slammed my wife in the back of the head.i was driving down a smooth highway at approximately 50 mph.
Vehicle was in motion and suddenly just shuts off without power to any of the hazard lights.it can get a lot of people killed with such a safety glitch.does it, then turns back on maybe after 10 to 40 mins of being off.
Driving at 70 mph on the freeway, the driver-side rear passenger door window shattered spontaneously.
I was driving home from shopping, and the trac control, and a lightingbolt light came on, and i had no accelerationpower, i was nearlyhome, so i droveon to my house and parked it.
I bought my vehicle in 2017. Before a year of owning it i got into a wreck because my cruise control wouldnt turn off and instead started accelerating more. Then i started having issues with my catalytic converter took it to the dealership and they said there was no way.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle lost power and acceleration. The failure recurred once. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to stop without warning. In addition, the contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was unable to be diagnosed. It was unknown if the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While at a red light, the vehicle accelerated independently while the contact's foot was on the brake pedal. In order to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,500.
Two days ago my abs and esc light came on, i have also noticed since then i have no cruise control. In the winter here the roads are quite sick, and the antilock brakes that are on this vehicle no longer function. When i was driving into work and came to a stop light, i tried to stop and kept sliding as a result.
When i placed car in park few minutes later a warning light came on and then went off but keeps popping back looks like a person wearing seat belt and ball in front them
Shortly after refueling my vehicle wouldidle roughly such as when i am stopped at a traffic light or stop sign and then the engine would begin racing.on at least one occasion when on an on ramp to an interstate i was accelerating to highway speed and the vehicle stopped accelerating and the tachometer red lined (exceeded 7000 rpm's) without any change in input to the gas peddle. These symptoms have continued and i experience occasional and intermittent rough idling even days after refueling.i have had my vehicle in the service dept. On a myriad of occasions and they have been unable to repair the problem.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to slow down the vehicle. As a result, the contact's vehicle crash into the rear of another vehicle. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal seized in the open position. The contact stated that the engine revved excessively at the time of the crash. A police report was filed. The contact was not injured, but the front seat passenger suffered minor bruising from the seat belt. Medical attention was not required. The contact was able to drive the vehicle from the scene of the crash to a nearby independent mechanic. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
While on a family trip to san diego from my home in riolinda cawe experienced a strong jerk motion followed by a acceleration while the car was driving in cruise control. My husband tried to remove the cruise control so that he can return to controlling the acceleration himself and it was still accelerating more. He slammed and then continuously slammed on the brakes almost rear ending another vehicle. We have refrained from using cruise control.

I purchased a 2014 dodge journey june 6, 2014. The following day my wife noticed large spotting on the (6) side glass panels- problem with the polarization process. I returned the vehicle for replacement on june 9, 2014- the car had 35 miles on the odometer. The dealer and chrysler llc declined vehicle replacement. They made the decision to attempt to replace all (6) side panels of glass. The first attempt resulted in another batch of equally defective auto glass. But now i had new problems. Now the windows binded and squeaked with every window use. I demanded vehicle replacement again. The dealer and chrysler llcagain declined. They wanted one more shot at replacing the auto glass. This 2nd attempt resulted in another batch of defective auto glass and the windows squeaked and binded. Also now i had body damage as both rear doors had (4) inch creases in them from the repair attempt. I demanded vehicle replacement again. The car had slightly over 100 miles on the odometer at the time. Chrysler refused replacement and stated they were done working on the car. I traded in this 2014 dodge journey and took a 5,000.00 loss. This was on a car that had 168 miles on the odometer. Chrysler did not offer me a buy back or goodwill allowance on a vehicle that i did not feel safe in after (2) failed repair attempts and the windows still were binding.
Windshield wipers only work on high, must carefully, purposefully time turning them off or they get stuck anywhere between the top and bottom of the windshield. Are not consistent with turning on. Parts are on backorder, please recall this
Head rest broke when we leaned back to grab a toy. The linkage to the wipers (to spray the windshield) broke a few days ago. We noticed it when spraying the windshield.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving various speeds, the passenger side tires shook violently without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. Updated 02/23/2016*lj
Rear passenger side tire's tread just peeled up and pulled off the under skirt, pulled part of back bumper loose. Pulled off the plastic up in side the wheel carriage and also busted my gas line. I was driving on a straight road and it just happened. I didn't run over or hit anything.
My tires are leaking air and completely balled, my car has 27,000. I think since we've done all the proper maintenance they should have lasted a lot longer.
While accelerating onto freeway last night, rear tire blew out. Vehicle has oem kumho solus kh16 225/65r17 tires with just under 36k miles. The side wall shows a perfect separation (see attached image).issue appears to be same as reason for recall of another kumho solus tire model.i have included a photo of the tire that blew out.was able to safely pull to side of entrance ramp and replace tire with compact spare. There are an alarming amount of safety complaints on nhtsa regarding this tire...over 1/2 are for the dodge journey.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge journey. While driving at any speed, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.
