The heat does not get hot on the passenger side when driving anywhere or when parked. The horn randomly goes off when i'm driving on the street expressway and also when the car is parked and shutoff. The airbag indicator light will not go off when the car is parked or while driving on all roads.the airbag indicator sound chimes continuously while i'm driving on any road. I went to drive my car last week in the extremely cold temperature and discovered i had no power steering. I got out the car and also discovered huge amounts of power steering fluid in the snow where i was parked. It was evident something ruptured causing the my vehicle to lose all of it's power steering fluid. I've been told by chrysler jeep dodge that these recalls do not exist for my vehicle. I want something to be done about these issues on my vehicle. It's clear that the dodge journey has defaults. The owner of the vehicle should not be responsible for these issues. Please assist with these issues. Thank you.

Horn honks on its own at random times. Windows go up and down on their own. Electrical panel blinks by itself. Ingine has shirt off by itself. Problem has been trying to be solved by dealership service depar :( ent for almost an entire month with zero progress. Tpim was updated, key fobs replaced twice, battery replaced twice, click spring replaced and now waiting on instrument cluster so it can be replaced.

Purchased vehicle new from dealer. The airbag light stays on when outside temp gets below 40 degrees. After owning the journey for a year, we have had to replace tires, brakes, and rotors after only 10,000 miles; replace a faulty battery and complained to dealer about the air noise at driver door, windows rolling down and doors unlocking by themselves, hard shifting in automatic transmission all within the odometer reading 15,000 miles.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Power steering makes a whinning sound when starting the suv. The airbag light will not turn off and theengine light is on due to electrical issues. My ignition also slips while driving.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part for the recall was not available. Got back into car at a convenient mart. Started it and the engine revved up. Everything shut down and then the alarm started going off. Could not start the car or stop the alarm. Towed to dealer and dealer cant get it to communicate with scanner. They cant find what is wrong. I have found several complaints on the electrical system and don't understand why no recalls before someone gets hurt !

The tipm is starting to fail (which apparently dodge knew about but will not fix due to lack of reports) fuses and relays are starting to blow causing all kinds of electrical issues. The tipm for the car is typically 500-1000 dollars which is a lot to spend to fix on a car that the manufacturer knew would eventually happen. Do not ever buy this vehicle. Worst car to own!! ever!!

The 2010 dodge journey we own has just been one problem after another. We did not purchase it new, we purchased it pre-owned from the dodge dealership. But we have paid to keep it up and stay ahead of most problems but there are several that are reoccuring and nothing seems to make them any better.the lights on the dashboard will light up and when you take it in to be looked at there is nothing that can be found wrong with it. The brakes seem to go bad pretty frequently. We are constantly getting the light that tells us that the esc is disabled and when you take it to get someone to look at it they cannot find what is causing this. It just seems like we are putting more and more money into the 2010 dodge journey we own. Constantly paying a mechanic to look at it and fix the most recent issue that arises from the warning lights on the dash. We cannot trade it in because we still owe on the vehicle and we cannot afford an increase in the payment. Dodge does not admit that it is a defective model or that there is anything that is causing this. I am hoping that someone will look into the 2010 dodge journey and all it's problems and give some sort of relief to those of us who purchaced one of these problem cars without knowing that the brakes would constantly go bad and there will be a little "demon" in the car that flips the lights on and off on the dashboard whenever he feels like it. I know i cannot be the only person that has had nothing but trouble with a 2010 dodge journey. But maybe dodge can take this demon infested car back and give my family something that we feel a little bit more safe in.

My problems first started with my horn and alarm randomly going off. Then i go out to my car after work and the doors are unlocked, and the front windows are rolled down. I don't carry the remote/fob on me, so that's not the cause. I have had at least 2 separate times now where the car has remote started itself, while the keys were on the counter at my house. The first time my car was in the garage, with the door closed, when i heard it running. Luckily i was able to catch it and turn it off, before any carbon monoxide got in the house to do damage. Now i park the car in the driveway, because we don't want it in the garage if this were to happen at night. My neighbor texted me the other night to tell me my car was running in the driveway. My wife, son, and i were all upstairs and the keys were downstairs. I consider this a very serious and dangerous problem. Carbon monoxide can kill.

I am currently the owner 2010 dodge journey awd. I have had to replace tires, brakes, and rotorsnumerous times; noise from driver door, windows rolling down and doors unlocking by themselves, hard shifting in automatic transmission, car pulsates/steering wheel vibrates violently when braking starting at about 40 mph. I have frequent problems with the locks and alarm when temperatures drop below 40 f, car does not always lock or unlock using either key fob or by pressing button in car, must press it multiple times. Lock mechanism could be heard attempting to turn, lock next to window appeared to be jumping slightly. I have been having problems with my car not starting for several months. I would have to take thekey fob out, turn it around, and insert it again. It shut off on me as i was driving 65mph on a main highway.. Almost causing a crash.ran a diagnostic and it came back that my module was bad, i checked online and it seems there was a recall on this module but only for the "ring." i contacted the chrysler and after two weeks of going back and forth with them and the dealership, they informed me they would not help due to high mileage and out of warranty.we are told only dealerships can get this part, install it, and program it. My google searches on this issue shows way too many results for this not to be a serious issue that chrysler refuses to take responsibility for. A recall needs to be done on this part as well with all of the 2010 dodge journey's not just the ones from a certain plant. Once i turn off the car, you can hear the computer shutting itself down and making all kinds of noise, then it appears to reboot, the radio will turn on and stays on for five min. The automatic starter starts on it's own once you shake the key fob.. No need to press the button anymore?! kuhmo tires on this vehicle have been replaced twice in one year.

Horn consistently blowing while car is turn off sitting stationary, while driving all hours of day and night. Took horn fuses out to stop horn from blowing. As soon as we put fuses back in horn starts blowing as if the car is possessed. Horn blowing on own while driving down city streets, highways and stationary.noticed head lights flashing as if alarm going off. Clicking noise as if electrical wires are touching coming from fuse box area. Draining battery had to replace battery within 6 months of purchase. Changed the car engine computer cause that went out,not sure if that's a result of this issue.there are a huge number of complaints about the same or similar problems if you google it. Took to several independent mechanics no one can detect the issue. Apparently the dodge dealerships can't detect problem either according to the complaints i've read on google. Please help us this problem is annoying! to many complaints about the same issue and no one can detect the problem! there need to be a recall! i'm afraid my car is going to catch on fire! problem started in 2017 and has been going on for about 2-3 yrs now off and on. Horn blew on its own when put fuses back in as late as today. 01/05\19

My auto is not part of the recall involving the ignition/fob. But i've had issues when my auto shuts off for no reason, if my car is turned off and my key is left in the ignition..i closed the doors and 5-10 sec.later all my doors locked. Thankfully my windows were crowded, i was in my garage because it was summer and my dog was in the auto. Sometimes my fob works .sometimes doesn't. Have replaced battery and fob but still have ignition issues at times.

'takata recall' when driving this 2010 dodge journey i honestly do not feel safe nor i think it's safe for my kids . Having the car just die out of no where, and then some mornings it won't start up for no reason , is really disappointing. When your a single mom and you work day and and night , to buy a new car , you would think it would benefit the family. Sadly it just brings more problems that i can't afford to fix.

When driving will hit any kind of bump & engine shuts off.. This started out happening occassionally, now happens nearly every time you drive it.also when restart it revs like holding foot down on accelerator even though foot not touching accelerator.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. While driving 30 mph, the electrical functions, including the exterior lighting, failed but the engine continued to run. The contact maneuvered into the emergency lane and shut off the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and the electrical functions resumed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they refused to diagnose the vehicle because it was out of warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part to repair the recall was unavailable and the dealer stated that it would not be available for six months to a year. The contact mentioned the wait period was unreasonable. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.

Horns sound randomly. Engine shuts off while driving. Battery drains overnight despite tests that conclude battery & charging system are ok.

When driving vehicle, the power in the car goes out. This includes lights, turn signals, ac or heat, radio, emergency signals, etc.in order to rectify this, i must pull over, turn the engine off, and re-start the car. This happens intermittently but as of late, it is happening very frequently.a star case has been opened with chrysler.the car has been diagnosed twice by a chrysler dealer (aug 2013 and may 2014).the problem could not be diagnosed and have been told that "it is working as designed".

Sentry security feature randomly malfunctions, deactivating the engine and stranding the vehicle. Vehicle makes click noise when key fob is turned to start, but engine won't turn over. Then vehicle will act like the battery is dead, even though it isn't. The vehicle will work normally for months with no problems. No warnings and no patterns. Only able to start again after a few hours left alone. No action resolves the issue.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. On several occasions, while the vehicle was parked or while driving, the horn inadvertently honked on and off without warning. The failure occurred multiple times throughout the day without warning. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer, but did not offer any further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Several instances of driving along and the car just shuts off. When the car shuts off you loose power steering. Bought this vehicle used in 2015 and it happened once before the end of the year. Now in 2016 there are at least 20 times that i can count. I know there is a recall for this in the 2010 journeys but mine is not included in it by vin #. I am wondering if the time frame on this issue doesn't need to go wider out to catch more.

While driving my dodge journey the horn began to blow extensively. I was not manually blowing the horn. The horn began to blow on it's own, then it would stop for approximately 3 minutes, then start again. Next day, it did the same but with different time intervals. It was blowing intermittently.when i was home, while the car was parked and locked, the horn began to blow again. I finally had to take fuses out. I'm now driving without a horn, i carry a purchased horn in the car. Online there are hundreds of complaints about this issue and make of car. The fix is pricey! people are not aware that they should come to this site to initiate a recall so that the manufacturer will aide us with repair. Please help us.

The car randomly honks on it's own during driving and parked on the side of the street.

The headlights have stopped working. Fuses are good and bulbs are good.

Intermittent issue with vehicle not starting. Have researched and found this issue documented many times on the internet. Sometimes it will start if you press the brake, put the car in neutral and then turn the ignition, sometimes it will work if you jiggle the shifter, sometimes it will work if you take the key out and turn it over. Today! none of this has worked. We also tried jump starting and that didn'the work either. Hoping that if i let it sit for awhile, i can get it started so i can go to work tomorrow. I bought this vehicle because i gad 2 previous dodge vehicles that i had good luck with, but this vehicle is making me rethink ever buying another dodge.

Our vehicle worked fine after purchase up until sometime in april. Then our horn started honking uncontrollably for no reason. Nothing i did would shut it off so i ended up taking out the fuses until we could get it fixed. Eventually our battery died for seemingly no reason and we had to have it replaced as well as try and get the horn fixed. Originally the dealership thought it was all the cause of the battery dying but eventually conceded that it was a wiring problem. We took it to get that fixed and were without a vehicle for a month. When they finally fixed and returned itwas fine for about a week but then the horn started honking for no reason again. By the time the tow truck got it to the dealership it had stopped and the mechanics could not diagnose the issue, however now it has started again. I then heard about the tipm issue with the chrysler models and it sounds as though my vehicle may be showing signs of the same issue. I was advised to make a report here. Any information on how and when this will be rectified would be greatly appreciated.

First had a problem with car shutting down and would not start so i bought a battery, because it kept drainingthen starter made noise had to replace it , then my car started over heating so i was told it was the reservoir so i bought one , now my transmission slips in reverse. I'm still having problems with shut downs no starting, everything is acting up all over again.

My complaint is regarding safety recall # r03 / nhtsa 14v-373this is a fca, fiat chrysler automobiles recall for wireless ignition node module and is the second such recall covering the same issue on my 2010 dodge journey.my issue:i have the recall paperwork and for the last couple of months i have been trying to get the work done.my chrysler dealership in greenwood, in , tom o'brien, advises me that chrysler has canceled the parts that were on order based on the recall.this is the second time chrysler has canceled the repair parts needed for the recall.i am concerned because this issue can potentially shut off the engine while in operation and i drive extensively for my job.please advise and provide any help you can to explain why chrysler is allowed to cancel the parts needed by the dealership to effect my recall repair.it seems to me they are just appeasing nhtsa by having the recall then not following through, canceling the actual parts--frustrating the vehicle owners and the dealerships.this recall issue could potentially cost lives and chrysler is being allowed to cancel the repair parts orders placed by the dealerships?i have the recall documents in hand and can't get my vehicle repaired.what can i do, what can nhtsa do for me?urgently request assistance in this matter.

Car horn going off without pressing the horn, stationary in driveway, store, ect. Car is also turned off, key removed.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. The contact stated that while driving apparoximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. A few weeks later, the contact received a recall notice in regards to nhtsa campaign id number 11v139000 (electrical system:ignition). An authorized dealer was notified and stated that the parts were not available, and they were unsure as to when they would become available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileages were approximately 36,000.

My journey was working fine until a few months ago, when the battery seemingly died. I replaced it (no small feat) and all was good for a bit. Now, every third day, i go out and the car is dead. The battery is brand new, but the car acts as if it is dead. I disconnect the negative lead, [put it back on, and voila, it starts again. The battery is fine. At least for a day, and the repeats...over and over. I took it in for the recall on the steering column electrical issue and it lasted for a week after that, and then dead again. I see the forums that say lots and lots of people have had this problem...has anyone actually got it fixed in which it has stayed fixed? since dodge refuses to acknowledge that this is a problem, we are in a bad catch-22 in which the dealer can't/won't fix it because if they acknowledge that this is an issue, then they feel responsible for it, which they can't /won't do. So i am in the endless back-and-forth with repair places, who i suspect just disconnect the negative terminal, reconnect it, call victory and change me $200.i have replaced starter, alternator and battery 3 times.

I purchased my vehicle in january 2014.in roughly june 2014 i started my car and the wipers immediately turned on high and i was not able to turn them off or slow them down.i also was unable to use my turn signals, and while driving for a while with the wipers on and no turn signals (had to get home and get to the dealership), the turn signal arm on the steering wheel would become quite warm.the tipm was replaced for roughly $750+labor.it is now january 2017 and i am having the exact same issues with the wipers being stuck on and no use of turn signals.the car was parked in the garage, i turned it on, and hello wipers.the tipm will need to be replaced for the second time in three years.this is a safety issue as any other number of electrical components controlled by the tipm (so basically everything) could be affected with no warning.there are many complaints about the tipm in this model vehicle (and other chrysler vehicles).why is nothing being done?!

Defective tipmmany vehicles dodge/chrysler have been recalled, the majority from 2007-2015. Journeys were not included, but according to the incredible number of complaints i feel they should have been. This effects everything and my car loses power while driving down the road. It will be much cheaper for dodge to fix it then to get the lawsuit when my airbag doesn't deploy or i am in an accident.

Went to go get gas driving the 2010 dodge journey sxt. Corner of villa and north av. In villa park , illinoisfilled my gas tank up pulled out of the gas station. Within 100 feet of driving away from the gas station my cars electrical system started to malfunction. Meaning windshield wipers going, horn going off, dash board lights flashing all lighting up, etc. Car power steering cuts off and acceleration shuts off. I had to coast my car into an empty parking lot to asset the situation. I see smoke coming from the hood of my car. Turn my car off, popped open my hood, to see more smoke coming from the fuse box. In a matter of seconds there was visible flame. The next thing i did, while calling 911 ran to the nearest convenient store (bargain in a box) to see if they had a fire extinguisher. Told the details of where my location to 911 and tell them there was a fire coming from the fuse box of the car. The employees at the convenient store gave me a fire extinguisher while i was on the phone asked the operator if i should use the fire extinguisher, the 911 operator told me if my safety would be at risk that she advised me not to use it and told me the villa park police and villa park firefighters are on there way. A customer standing next to me asked what did she say and i relayed the message back to him. He then took it into his own hands and put the fire out for me. A few moments after the firefighters showed up they cut the battery cords to the fuse box cutting all power to tipm and to the whole car..

Kbb shows ignition recall on the 2010 dodge journey my vehicle randomly shuts off while driving with no other issues. Some days it does fine. Could be a couple weeks and then will randomly shut off making it very unsafe for a family vehicle. Dodge dealership says there no open recall on the vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I receive a notice about 6 months for a recall #l25/nhtsa 14v-373 to replace the ignition switch i call ontario dodge dealer and their say that don't have that part and may be take a long timeto be fixedmy car i start having problems many times to start i call chrysler group recall assistance center and still no answer their don't have enough parts and my cart already die complete at entrance of freeway please help me to resolve this problem before something happen thank very much !!!

I cant list the exact date of all the incidents that have happen but there have been so many of them over the last couple of years that its impossible to keep track of. My first issue was three years ago when trying to start the car it would click but not turn over everything worked so we knew it wasn't the battery. I would have to remove the key and sit for sometimes up to 10 minutes before the car would turn over. At this time the car was still under warranty and at the same time we started having issues with the passenger window not rolling down or up with the button on the passenger door. Driver side could roll the window up. We took it in and unfortunately because the dealership couldn't mimic the problems we were having the told us they couldn't find anything wrong and said bring it back when we have the issue again. Seriously how can i bring you the car when it wont start. On to the next problem last october driving home on the freeway going 60 miles and hour at night might i add and my electrical system starts to fail lights turn off radio turns off and then immediately turns back on thankfully i was almost home so my husband looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong and it hasn't happened since thankfully but now we are having issues with our radio two days ago it stopped working again. First time my husband goggle the problem and was told to disconnect the battery for an hour and then reconnect. This took care of the problem but this time around it doesn't seem to be working. So know i have to take my car in to have this diagnosed again. I wont even begin to talk about the clicking that comes from behind the glove box when i turn the ac or heat on sounds like my car is going to blow up. I have only had this car for 5 years brand new off the lot and it only has 55,000 miles on it has been regularly maintained so their should not be this many issues.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part for the recall was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

2010 dodge journey sxt awd completely shut off while driving 55 mph. Pulled to the side of the road and would not start back up for a few minutes, dash, lights, etc. Would turn on but car would not start. Finally started and drove to work. Vehicle also will not start 80% of the time you turn the key. Sometimes light and dash will come on but car will not turn over for a few minutes, other times it starts on first turn. Online research shows very common issues with this vehicle.

I have had my integrated module replaced twice but still have the problem of all the accessory lights coming on in the car. Nothing works when this happen. Also i am now having a problem when i insert the key in the ignition it's like it want turn over unless it is in a certain spot. Please help me with this matter i just purchased this car in march of 2013. Don't want to get in a bad accident when this happens since it shuts down things in the car.

I purchased a new dodge journey in april 2010. I have had the rotors replaced in may 2010, april 2011, june 2012, july 2013, and the rotors need replace once again.this is five times in four years!the car has about 43,000. I paid last april 2014 to have the rear brakes replaced and the back rotors re-surfaced. Plus i replaced the tires which were $1200.00.the worst problem that i am having is the total loss of electronics when we hit a bump.the lights, heat/air, all electronics go out. My fear is that when this happens the air bags don't work either. There is something wrong with how the key fob fits into the dash board. I'm not able to trade vehicles at this point. I feel like this car is going to make me go bankrupt.i fear that the brakes/rotors will fail or the electronic issue will cause me to wreck with my little girl in the car.what can i do?

Vehicle has failed to start multiple times. Started occurring around 20,000 miles. Turn the key and only hear a click. Sometimes after waiting a few hours the vehicle starts. Have replaced the vehicle battery but that didn't make a difference. Typically, after moving/wiggling the shifter and returning to park, the car starts. This no longer works. Tried locking/unlocking doors with multiple key fobs, tried using a different key in the ignition but car will no longer start. Current mileage around 58,000.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,257.

As others have posted, my car will honk randomly without being touched.this can happen when driving, when it is sitting parked, hot or cold.it happens whenever and wherever it feels like it.i have had it checked twice now and supposedly upgraded the electrical system, but after a week it started up again.i have had other electrical issues with this vehicle in the past as my windshield wipers would go crazy and my signal lights would not work when this happened.a part was replaced then that had stopped.i am now out of warranty and of course it is acting possessed.i am afraid that other electrical issues may happen as well as this vehicle is not even 4 years old and having all these issues.

While driving along, navigational systems went blank, radio/phone/etc went dead, and turn signals became inoperable (was able to use emergency flashers to warn other drivers while changing lanes).brought to dealer, was found to be ignition module does not work properly so key ends up in invalid position - causing system functions to not operate.there was a recall for this ignition switch, in which they p,laced spacers to keep the switch from actually turning the car off, but apparently, it does not actually fix the problem of the key going into the wrong position, just reduces it's range. The manufacturer charged to replace the defective ignition module.

Random cranking issue. Has left me stranded several times. It will crank and move and after i park somewhere and shut the vehicle off the next time i get ready to go somewhere it will not crank. Starter, ignition, battery, battery cables, alternator have been replaced. I have also taken the key to locksmith to make sure it hasn't lost programming. Dealership says it cannot duplicate problem. It has left me stranded 18 times this month alone. It randomly will not crank when you turn the key. Whether in my garage or at the grocery store. It won't restart until the next day. This has happened for about 2 years now.i have read several posts on repair forums where people are having the same issue with no remedy from the manufacture. Please help!

My husband stopped by the house during his break, at this time the car was fine. When he went to go back to work the windows were all down and the doors were unlocked. This happened last week as well. On five different occasions while driving the car would shut off. The first time this happened i almost ran into the sign and postal box on the side walk. Two times it was at a stop light. The other two times it was while driving, during these two times we were able to get the car in the turning lane. When we took the car in the mechanics told us that the chip in the key was bad and that is why the car stopped. But recently after taking it to a different mechanic we learned about the recalls. To be honest i am very scared to drive this vehicle especially with my kids. Is there a program for these vehicles to be purchased back so that i can get a safer car?

Unsafe conditions in all the issues written 6/20/165/13 40,000 miles - now 81,000 milesignition switch - issues, the key fob will not come out of the ignition switch. The entire electrical system shuts down.....doors, windows, anything electric does not work. The door locks don't unlock the car remains locked and passengers are not able to get out of the car for a random period of time. This has happened on 3 occasions.horn blowing without pushing the horn, while the car is in motion and/or parked. Stormy weather ironically increases the chance of random horn blowing. Very unsafe. Began march 2015, approx. 65,000 miles. The dealer and dodge 800 853-1403 say that the cars vin # is not one that has had a recall. On this site, over 700,000 dodge vehicles have had a recall with electrical issues.paid approximately $900 in labor and parts (see invoice from huffines dealer), 2 batteries in 2 years, 3/2015 $200.00, 6/20/16, $238.00

I am the owner of a 2010 dodge journey sxt awd. I financed the vehicle in nov 2011. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had a little more than 19,000 miles. Almost 4 years later, i now have 96,000 miles due to my constant travel in my city of residence and out of state. The first incidents with the vehicle started in late 2012 with the vehicle not starting when attempting to turn it on. You would hear a click but it would not start however the dash would light up. This continued to happen for several months on and off until my husband contacted the dealership and we were told about the recall. Vehicle was taken in and recall issue fixed or so we thought. Vehicle started same issue of not starting all over again. Contacted dealership and was told no further recalls were on this vehicle. Jump forward tooct 2014. I move to va and i'm out one day shopping and the vehicle again does not start. This has been going on since that time off and on. And now as of feb 2015 i started having a bad key message come up when i attempt to turn on my car. Happened twice while out on feb 4th and again today on feb 5th. Attempted to turn on car 4 times before it would start, each time giving me the message bad key. This is ridiculous. This vehicle is a piece of crap and dodge/chrysler refuses to address these issues. I have read several stories on line from people who are having these same issues and more in addition to this. I am afraid that this vehicle when start shutting down while i am driving next. It is the most unreliable vehicle i have ever owned. I cannot trade it in because i owe more money that this vehicle is worth. I truly regret ever buying it. So now instead of the car not turning on at all one way, it now does the same thing by way of the key. The other key i have stopped working in early 2013 so i only have one key and cannot afford to pay $300 for a new key.

It's not your starter or alternator it's your neutral cut out (safety switch).have to put it in neutral to start.own a 2010 and have called and complained about it as it is a safety problem.if you don't get any satisfaction from your dealer ordodge file a defect complaint form and get them to investigate a recall. Save your receipts for all expenses incurred for this issue and they will reimburse you.it's been happening more often it is sporadic, looking up this info. I see it is a problem with these vehicles i need it fixed i can not afford to get stuck i am a single mom.

Left and right horn activated at random while driving and parked, night and/or day. Dealership can not pin point the problem. Several complaints on this problem all over the internet.

On march 18, 2007 while being driven on a secondary road, our 2010 dodge journey, class 1b3h80100, began having some sort of electrical problem, dashboard warning lights came on, interior light started going off and on, and then the vehicle cut off entirely.in addition, the brakes don't seem to be functioning correctly.the vehicle was taken to the dealer with 3 separate recall/warranty notices found which appear to cover brakes, dashboard lights and most importantly, the starter issue.the dealer stated they were aware of only 1 recall.they indicated that since it was near closing time, they could not address the issues until monday. My daughter and her 2 infants use this car. When i purchased it, the dealer mentioned it had been 'returned' and had very low mileage.when asked why it was returned, they stated that the previous owner bought many vehicles from them, and just needed something different.the potential danger of an accident resulting from the vehicle shutting off while in motion needs to be addressed so that no one is seriously injured.thank you.

The horn blows continuously out of no where. I have changed the battery on the vehicle after i had one completely dead. It wakes up neighbors in the middle of the night. My alternator is good and provides the correct amperage. It honks when started, sitting still and off and all the time. This has been going on for 6 months now.

Car will not turn on. One day it urns on fine next day wont turn on.

Vehicle turns off while driving.unable to steer or brake.

I have been having problems with my car not starting for several months. I would have to take the fob key out, turn it around, and insert it again. After doing this it would finally start. On june 17, 2013, i stopped at an auto parts store to get something and then couldn't leave. When i put the key in, the indicator on the dashboard read bad key. A couple days later i had the car towed to a dealership to get a new key programmed. The assistant service manager informed me he ran a diagnostic and it came back that my win module was bad and i had to replace it along with 2 keys, a $968.00 bill. I checked online and it seems there was a recall on this module but only for the "ring." my car supposedly has had this part replaced. I contacted the chrysler and after two weeks of going back and forth with them and the dealership, they informed me they would not help due to high mileage and out of warranty. My car still is not fixed because of financial reasons. We are told only dealerships can get this part, install it, and program it. My google searches on this issue shows way too many results for this not to be a serious issue that chrysler refuses to take responsibility for. I recall needs to be done on this part.

Driving on the i95 south going 55 mph a red light came on and then car starting down.the electrical lights on the dash board came on and the car started moving over to the side and i finally stopped the car at the beginning of the off ramp at exit 15.

Power steering makes a whinning sound when starting the suv. The airbag light will not turn off and theengine light is on due to electrical issues. My ignition also slips while driving.

I was at a stoplight waiting for my right of way the light turns green i push on the gas and it goes to the center of the lights and loses power then shuts off. I try to start but it just starts clicking with a red lightning bolt on the dash i tr to move in n and it wouldn't let me till after like 5 times... Finally after almost being hit from behind the opposite side turns green and im having to push the car by myself with 4 kids under 4. Till this day its unknown sitting in my drive way, and ever since it has happen it won't start anymore. Never had any problems till that day always been well maintained. And it seems like i drains every battery.also a family member has the same car and the same problem has happen to them also.

When i lock auto sits for awhile then unlocks the two front doors and drops windows half way by itself?

When driving at highway speeds 65-75 mph and having to brake hard the steering wheel and brake pedals begin to vibrate violently and the brakes feel as though they are not working correctly?2010 dodge journey sxt with currently 24k miles.

I have only had my car two and half years and its been none stop issues started with car only wanting to start when it felt like it andimy turn signals and head light flashing when they wanted then my intererior lights also all when car was off and locked then the doors and windows starting rolling up and down on their own and the doors unlocking and locking back on their own and now last but not least my horn wont stop honking its a physical drain it interfers with work , sleep it wakes up the neighbor hood all hour of the nite will be at work and have to excuse myself to go outside and pray i can get it to stop! causing me battery damage more then at 285 dollars a pop for battery and installation no expects when they pay over thirty thousand for a car it is gonna be possessed! because of this car it has rained and snowed in my vehicle in the middle of the night when windows wanna roll down on their own i have replaced widow switches and sensors also and still having all these issues i can not afford to may to fix these costly reaccuring issues due to the manufactor made huge mistakes while making this car obviously something needs to be done i have read complaint after complaint online like mine there definitely should be a recall before someone seriously gets hurt and they get sued ... Thank you

I was traveling 70 mph and engine just stopped running no power steering brakes i was able to get to side of highway without accident. Car would not start again until 20minutes later then car has run fine

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and lost steering ability. The contact stopped and restarted the vehicle, and then drove to her destination. The contact also stated that the failure occurred again on october 18, 2018. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 156,000.

Vehicle turns off while driving.unable to steer or brake.

When driving will hit any kind of bump & engine shuts off.. This started out happening occassionally, now happens nearly every time you drive it.also when restart it revs like holding foot down on accelerator even though foot not touching accelerator.

The car will not start

Car occasionally doesn't stay in high gear at highway speeds.need to pull over and turn car off to get it to shift to high gear again.the automatic transmission also doesn't hold itself on hills at a light.it rolls backward unless i hold the break. Air diverter box behind glove box bangs even when the car is off.

I was at a stoplight waiting for my right of way the light turns green i push on the gas and it goes to the center of the lights and loses power then shuts off. When driving, both at low neighborhood speed and at highway speed, the engine stalls, lights and radio stay on, steering wheel locks and brakes lock. It has happened several times intermittently and unpredictably. I didn't become scared until it happened when i was on a highway going 60mph and almost wrecked trying to safely exit (date indicated below). The car is now in my driveway because i am afraid to drive it. A mechanic said it was related to a previously-issued safety recall but when i called a dealer to make an appointment for the recall repair, i was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall, despite the glaring similarity. I have not received a recall notice and, as stated, dealerships will not repair my vehicle for free.

I brought my 2010 dodge journey in 2012,about a year later, the care started to stall when on starting.naturally, we thought is was the battery, so went to the dodge dealer and they agreed.two week later, the care would not start after my sons baseball came.someone gave me a jump, so i thought that i got a bad battery.towed car to shop and i was told that the starter was bad.so approximately. $250.00 later i have a new battery.the care continues to not start.the dodge journey is the most unreliable car i have every had.it is now sitting in my garage, because i was driving and the car ran hot and will not go more than 30 miles per hour.i have a car not and cannot afford to get fixed.i am told that something may be wrong with the transmission, but only dealer can work on this since the transmission is buried under everything.i am frustrated and broke and still having to pay a care note!

Car will not turn on. One day it urns on fine next day wont turn on.

2010 dodge journey one of the pistons keeps mis-firing and the car shakes badly at medium speeds (55-70).will be second time taking car in for the same issue.

Day time running lights. The journey has daytime running lights installed but not activated. I contacted my local dealer and was told they are only activated if the car was sold new in a state that required them. The dealer said they can activate by hooking up their factory scanner but it would cost me several hundred dollars. I don't understand why i need to pay to have a safety feature that was installed at the factory activated. There is research that shows daytime running lights save lives and some of the states i travel to require that i turn on my headlights if i don't have daytime running lights. I discovered this right after we bought the vehicle used.

Own a 2010 dodge journey, front brakes shimmyed at 20,000 miles, called dealer not a covered part. Owner replaced front brakes and rotors, no further problem there.on fuel mileage has reduced from approx. 22 miles to gallon to 17 miles to gallon. Also vehicle slows down too fast upon coasting, feels like dragging. Tires from kumho are garbage, replaced all with different brand, was told no recall on those either. Tireswore out at 20,000 miles, was told by tire dealer that those tires are faulty due to wear out at 15 to 25,000 miles. Says chlysler knos about kumho but wont recall them. Overall getting discouraged with chysler product, and getting no help on problems. During winter month vehicle went into awd due to tires slipping, made ugly grinding noises and shake when activated, also stuck in awd.had to back up 500 or more feet to get it to unlock or deactivate.has not been right since, and again told not a covered problem. Everytime i call about these problems they say bring it in but warrenty will not cover, im disabiled and i cant afford to bring in and pay shop rates just to say on paper not a warrenty problem, i have to pay for repairs.

On 3/14/2012 (31,604 miles) while pulling out of a parking space the transmission started to grind and the vehicle lost power. The transmission was noticeably slipping and we were told that it was performing "normally" continued driving the vehicle until...4/18/2012 (33,133 miles) the transmission started grinding again, vehicle lost all power in heavy traffic where my son narrowly avoided being hit head on. Purchased new dodge journey 2010 in april 2011.basic type tires needed to be replaced by september 2011 due to wear.attempted to replace with snow tires, needed for safe winter driving in rural area with heavy snowfall.only tires that fit wheels were on national back order.used size/brand recommended by dealership that almost fit in october 2011.since then, i have had to have all four brake rotors machined, front brake pads replaced for third time now, not covered by warranty.car pulsates/steering wheel vibrates violently when braking starting at about 40 mph.pulsation/vibration does not completely go away even immediately after brakes worked on/pads replaced.i have the tires rotated every 6 months, this does not help decrease pulsation. As of july 2013, no winter tires can be found that fit the car exactly per the dealership.car slows down too much when coasting.gas mileage averages 17 mpg, current mileage is approx 43000.i have frequent problems with the locks and alarm when temperatures drop below 40 f, which is from october to may.car does not always lock or unlock using either key fob or by pressing button in car, must press it multiple times.car alarm does not work consistently.if car is locked with the fob, the car does not always lock but is sometimes "armed" and the alarm frequently goes off when the door is opened.must place key fob in ignition and turn car on to stop alarm.driver side door frequently would not unlock during winter, lock mechanism could be heard attempting to turn, lock next to window appeared to be jumping slightly.door had to be unlocked from inside after entering car through other doors.dealership stated they could not get problems to replicate (with locks, alarm).

Purchased dodge journey in december of 2011. Have only driven 11,300 miles. Bought 4 new tires two months ago. Have been keeping up with all regular maintenance to the vehicle.wheel shakes tremendously when applying the brakes. Also, car drags when releasing the throttle. A car cut me off and i had to brake fast. Brakes didn't feel like they were working properly.

Date 05/13/2014message: dear sir this complaint is in regards to the 2010 dodge journey, chrysler's and the nhtsa total disregard for the safety of its owners and the public at large.the brakes continue to warp due to a engineering issue which is being ignored by the nhtsa and chrysler.help us before someone dies, for your information[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

This car is six years old and i have now had to replace brake pads and rotors three times. Each time the technician indicates that there is minimal brake pad left and the rotors are rusted, pitted and overheated. They recommend in each case that the the repair is a safety concern. What i have read online from other journey owners is that the brakes are woefully inadequate for the vehicle size and weight. It is time that chrysler repair this once and for all.

Purchased vehicle new from dealer. The airbag light stays on when outside temp gets below 40 degrees. After owning the journey for a year, we have had to replace tires, brakes, and rotors after only 10,000 miles; replace a faulty battery and complained to dealer about the air noise at driver door, windows rolling down and doors unlocking by themselves, hard shifting in automatic transmission all within the odometer reading 15,000 miles.

I bought this vehicle brand new since i put at least 3-4 sets of brakes on this car and 2 sets of rotors a year since owning it. I have 56000 miles on my car i know that brakes and rotors are not covered under warranty it's regular maintenance on a vehicle. But this is over kill. My car is currently in the shop i believe that my anti lock brake pump assembly is out. I've replace the master cylinder and 2 brake lines i still have no pedal to speak of. The first month i owned this car the brakes and rotors were replaced by barreth in washington, mo

Brakes went out at 14,074; then again at 20,811 miles; and again at 36,201. The vehicle is two years old.

Brakes would shimmy, took to dealer on may 30, 2012, replaced pads on front and resurfaced all four rotors, only to have same problem on dec. 11, 2012, brakes would shimmy. Took to another dealer and had all four rotors resurfaced once again.

I am a mechanic and my mother owns a 2010 dodge journey it has 60000 on the odometer and i have replaced the rotors/pads 3 times with napa premium grade not the junk factory my self. The front once and the back all 3 times. The stealership has done them 2 times on all four corners. No recall the dealership said everyone they sold has come in with the same issue (mostly the rear multiple times). Not even a service bulletin... How is this possible? how may times is this going to happen? consumer protection needs to get on this and file a class action lawsuit. Also same issue trying to find tires for this car was a real problem. She paid the same amount for the tires as i did for 33" m/ts for my expedition.

I was traveling 70 mph and engine just stopped running no power steering brakes i was able to get to side of highway without accident. Car would not start again until 20minutes later then car has run fine

Premature brake wear 2009 dodge journey.

Premature brake wear.

Went on a vacation to yellowstone national park. All the way out had intermitent pulsation of the steering wheel when braking at highway speeds. Front discs and brake pads were replaced by dealer at 11921 miles because of warped rotors.after many more complaints of pulsations when braking the dealer replaced the rear discs and pads at 23184 miles, account warped rotors. So after 6 1/2 months ( october 10 ) the front rotors were warped and 10 months later ( august 8, 2011 ) the rear rotors were warped. The pulsation has happened again already and it is only august 22 2011.each time i take the car in for the pulsation problem the dealer says he takes it for a ride and finds no problem. Each time it has had the same mileage in as the mileage out. I don't think the dealer even took it for a ride because he already knew what the problem was.

When driving at highway speeds 65-75 mph and having to brake hard the steering wheel and brake pedals begin to vibrate violently and the brakes feel as though they are not working correctly?2010 dodge journey sxt with currently 24k miles.

With less than 6000 miles on my 2010 dodge journey, i noticed that the steering wheel was beginning to shake when the brakes were applied.when i took the vehicle in to have the tires rotated, i had the dealership that i bought this vehicle from look at the problem.they told me that the front rotors were warped and had to be replaced.this vehicle is not driven hard, the brakes are not slammed, no jack rabbit starts.i find that the rotors needing to be replaced with less than 6000 miles on the vehicle unacceptable.i feel that this vehicle is unsafe, and the brakes are one of the most important safety features on a vehicle.

Thank you.

Was leaving work and lost steering. Upon checking realized there was no power steering fluid in car. I added power steering fluid and started car it immediately started running out of the car just inside and behind the right front tire. Upon further inspection i discovered the rubber line had simply slid off of the hard line. It slid right back on. The factory "spring" clamp can be compressed with my fingers. I took it off and replaced with a worm gear clamp to insure that it stays on. This could have been a real danger if it had happened at highway speed. I am attaching a picture of original clamp.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge journey awd. The contact stated that after exposure to cold temperatures, the power steering hose ruptured while the engine was started. The failure caused a loss of power steering assist. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering fluid, hoses, steel tubes, and power steering oil cooler needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v273000 (steering). The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 104,000.

For the fourth time now i have had to have my vehicle in to have the power steering hose replaced!!!! and of course, i am am being told this vehicle does not have a factory block heater installed so it is not covered under the recall. I have never been so disappointed by a company in all my life!!!! each time this has happened it has caused a huge inconvenience for me and my family. The first time the vehicle was parked at a school funstion. Started it, let it run for about 5 min and when i accelerated to leave my power steering was gone. Second time, i was parked, went to start it and went to leave. Again, no power steering. Third time i was parked in a lot for shopping. I started it, went to leave and no power steering. The fourth time the vehicle was parked in my garage. I started it remotely. When i went to back out of the garage there was no power steering. In the middle of winter no less!!!! i was left onthe side of road with my two kids last friday when the temperature here in mn was -20. Are you kidding me?!?! all of these occurrences have happened int he dead of winter. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars i have to keep on paying to have this fixed. This is a known issue with this year make and model, but i can't be compensated under the recall because it doesn't have a block heater?. A block heater has nothing to do with power steering hoses blowing off on start up in winter. I really need help as i am single mom with two kids and connot afford to continue taking time off from work to take my vehicle in for this problem. Any help or information you may be able to provide is greatyl appreciated!!

Low pressure power steering hose ruptured and began leaking upon start up in cold weather

Everytime it gets cold outside my power steering line which i believe is the return hose keeps blowing off and lose the power steering. My wife and kids where driving and almost got into a bad accident due to it. It been happening for past 3 days.

Power steering makes a whinning sound when starting the suv. The airbag light will not turn off and theengine light is on due to electrical issues. My ignition also slips while driving.

I am currently the co-owner along with my wife of 2010 dodge journey awd . We live in northwestern erie county, pennsylvania. This area traditionally receives 86 plus inches of snow, and snow covered icy roads are the norm during the snow season.on 5 march 2014, my wife noticed that the low tire pressure dashboard warning light was activated. I attributed the signal to the low air temperature which was below 0 degree f.on 6 march 2014 after i drove the car in20+ degrees f. The warning light remained activated.i took the vehicle to my local tire shop to have the tire pressure checked by the professional. The owner/technician checked the air pressure in all tires.while checking tire pressure, one retaining nut (located on the outside tire rim) which holds the tire sensor monitor (located inside the tire) split, and one half of the nut fell onto the floor. Upon further inspection the remaining retaining nuts were found to be corroded, but not cracked. The technician/owner explained to me what the problem was, and what the results could be if the sensor monitor was not immediately replace. He also gave me examples of other customers to whom the same thing had happened. The biggest danger according to him was a sudden loss of tire air pressure which could cause an accident. He stated he finds the retaining nut problem only on chrysler/fiat vehicles.i immediately took the vehicle to the dealership where at my expense the tire pressure sensor monitor was replaced.the dealership also stated that they could not under federal law replace the sensor monitor with a standard tire valve.i feel that these monitors need to be consider for a safety recall.please advise me and other owners (especially those who reside in cold, snowy climates) of chrysler/fiat productsas to remedies to this potentially serious safety concern and financial burden.

Car will not turn on. One day it urns on fine next day wont turn on.

Horn randomly goes off while driving or parked

The horn blows continuously out of no where. I have changed the battery on the vehicle after i had one completely dead. It wakes up neighbors in the middle of the night. My alternator is good and provides the correct amperage. It honks when started, sitting still and off and all the time. This has been going on for 6 months now.

This car honks randomly off or on, long or short. This is a safety issue because it scares drivers who aren't aware and can cause a distraction leading to a accident.

The horn goes off on it's own, at all times of the day and night, whether the vehicle is on or off.it goes off to the point where the fuse has to be pulled, which has resulted in a vehicle with an inactive horn, causing a huge safety issue

Dodge journey, engine complete power down/shut down; loss of all function in the car, no steering, no brakes, no lights

My vehicle will not start. I turn the key and i hear one click. It has a new battery installed. The engine also died on multiple occasions after being put in reverse. I can't jump start my car or anything. It refuses to start.

The heat does not get hot on the passenger side when driving anywhere or when parked. The horn randomly goes off when i'm driving on the street expressway and also when the car is parked and shutoff. My right side door latches are ratcheting and will not lock or unlock properly either when using the remote or pressing the door lock switch.

I own a 2010 dodge journey.whenever the cruise control is engaged and the car's speed increases to a speed of approximately five miles per hour over the cruise control setting, when you are traveling downhill, for example, the car will violently downshift and the engine's rpms will rise to over 5000 rpms unless you disengage the cruise control.the downshift is violent and could result is a loss of control if you are on a less than a clear, dry road surface.the car was taken to the dealership and we were told that the issue was known but no fix was available.i was told not to use the cruise control unless there were dry driving conditions.my concern is that there may be hidden damage done to the car due to the violent nature of the shifting and i may lose control, even on dry surfaces as the shifting is surprising and violent.

When i lock auto sits for awhile then unlocks the two front doors and drops windows half way by itself?
