The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving at various speeds the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag warning light remained in stored memory mode, which made it impossible to diagnose the vehicle. The dealer also stated that the side air bags were malfunctioning. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000. Updated 04/14/16*lj
The air bag light goes on/off. Dealer says it is a faulty wiring or connection and have to take out the passenger seat. They told me that the air bag system is off when it detects some fault. They are charging me $400.00 to try to fix the problem. I have no choice but to fix.rear shocks are leaking, why i do not know.
The service airbag warning and light comes on and stays on for a while (like 2 to 3 weeks) then just disappears while in motion and stationary.
The service air bag system light kept coming on every time i drove it. I took it to the dealer and they said there is a defect in the wiring harness and passenger seat air bag and they need to be replaced. Since this was a defect i felt i shouldn't have to pay for it but because my warranty ran out i have no choice. Not right!!
Vehicle was stationary in our garage.wife went to get into passenger side seat and headrest exploded.
Driving on freeway coming back from payson area and we heard a pop noise at drivers seat headrest and saw that the headrest popped open.we didn't know it was an airbag until a dodge dealer said that it was the airbag and it's not under warranty and can't take care of it.kept asking if we were in a collision when the headrest broke and we were not!we were driving at about 65 miles an hour when that happened.we were also told that our motor mounts have to be replaced and the vehicle is only 3 years old.we have kept our vehicles for longer than this before and never had to replace motor mounts.not sure if they are defective or if these problems are just because it is a dodge.i have never owned dodge before.i've been driving the vehicle with the headrest open for about 2 months now as one dodge dealer in tempe made me go to the one in avondale since that is where i purchased it from and i had to make appointments each time and it took forever to get the appointments for each.now my neck hurts as a result of driving my vehicle with my head leaning forward and still i haven't heard from the warranty company or the dealership.i called an 800 # after the dealer told me they couldn't do anything and they were to call me back within 3 days and now it's been about 2 weeks and no word from them. The date below is approximate. Please help. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
1. Air bag continuously pops up whenever driving, i have received multiple emails from westgate and taken to them with no repair. Recent accident airbag did not work.2. I am unable to open gas tank from inside, i literally have to get out go to back of truck and pull a lever, i found out how to do this by another owner who did it on youtube. I almost got hit by car twice.3. I was in a car accident where i ran into a mini mall, i pulled up and parked thenthe car just took off on own, it happen so fast and only thing i our police could think was i pushed wrong peddle but i did not, i did take to westgate for repairs, there was a recall and was never reimbursed for $500 deductible or pain/suffering
I was driving home from work on a city street just exiting a roundabout going no more than 15 miles per hour and my headrest exploded forward hitting me in the back of the head.it was quite jarring.it felt like something heavy as in my back seat and shot forward hitting my drivers seat.there were no cars around me, and nothing hit my car.
Went out to vehicle in the morning to go to work, noticed passenger headrest airbag was deployed. Vehicle was not used during the evening, parked after coming home from work.
Bought a 2015 durango in may 2015 have had it 45days and it has been in the service dept at the dealership more than with me. It started with a fuel sensor, then the sunroof wouldn't close, it fried the usb port, the air bag warning light keeps going on & off while driving, now the seat nor steering wheel will move at all or if you does move by some miracle the seat decides to reposition itself while you are driving.
Hit a telephone pole on friday 7/24no airbags deployed vehicle is totaledbruised chest arms legs feet handson a town street*dt
Since approximately 32,000 miles the airbag light has illuminated randomly.after 48,000 miles, the light turns on almost immediately after starting and will stay on and ding randomly during the drive.
While driving the driver side headrest deployed without any warning
As the driver, i reached into the back seat to hand my son something and both front seat head rests deployed! there was not accident or anything that should have caused this. This could have hurt me if my head was rested on the head rest at the time and now i have two head rests that are deployed and canā€™t fix them! i shouldnā€™t have to pay for something that shouldnā€™t have happened without an accident occurring.
The check air bag is on.upon taking the vehicle to dodge.the service department stated the cause is seat harness failure.dodge checked the codes and stated they found b0020-13 and b1c11-13.dodge stated this not a recall issue.they ordered part number 68100768ad wiring : seat back and part number 5pn14dx9aa headrest: active head restr. Although with all of the air bags concerns and dodge's problems with them and recalls.this repair will cost up to 900.00.and will have the vehicle in the shop for potentially 3 days.day one finding the issue and then potentially 1-2 days after the parts are ordered and come in.the last statement dodge made was " need to replace headrest seat harness and retest for any further needs."
Driver side headrest deployed while driving vehicle on the highway. Headrest fastenerwas damaged in the process making the fastener unrepairable. Dealer states there is no current open recall on this issue even though there are numerous complaints about the same issue online. I took it to the dealer to see if there was a recall and they said it would be $700 to replace.the invoice says they " inspected the headrest.can not be reset.tabs in back are broken. Will require new headrest."when we looked at what held the headrest together, we saw two tiny plastic pieces holding it together that broke.we were just driving along and it deployed.
Please service airbag notification and warning indicator will come at start of vehicles.
Driver's active headrest popped while driving down a smooth, paved road at approximately 30 mph. The loud noise and jolting of the seat almost caused an accident.
Vehicle was in park. Got into vehicle while it was unattended for several hours over night. Passenger headrest was deployed.
On april 26, 2020 the active head restraint (ahr) on the passenger side of my vehicle unexpectedly deployed while in operation at normal conditions/speed limits (30-35 mph) on a residential street.no accidents or injuries were incurred, however the head rest has been fully detached and is now hanging open, revealing all exposed materials inside.per thedodgedealership and mopar (extended warranty services), repair was not covered and there would be out-of-pocket charges for parts and service up to $900.upon further research, this costly safety issue is being experienced by otherdodgevehicle owners some of whom have gotten the fca to cover associated costs; and there is also a class action lawsuit in fl as of feb. 2020.hopefully this dangerous defect and an unreasonable safety risk is granted a recall to remedy the situation soon before someone is seriously hurt. Thank you for all that you do and your support in the matter.
I was driving down the street and my headrest in my car popped and hit my daughter in the head.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving 5 mph, the driver's headrest air bag deployed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer and the manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 75,425.
Gas continues to pump after the tank is full and spill out and all down the side of the durango until i shut it off. The handles doesn't always click off on its own.service air bag sensor keeps coming on and off. Dealer doesn't know anything about either problem.
My 2015 durango's "active headrest restraint" deployed while the vehicle was completely off. In fact, we did not even have the keys with us. My wife was wiping down the seats and center console, when it very suddenly and loudly "popped" open. We have the extended warranty, which chrysler refused to accept for the repair. Vehicle had 21,000 miles and was parked (turned completely off) in a driveway. I suspect this had something to do with recent temperature changes, because this was the first day below 50 degrees after a couple weeks of 90 degree average days in the sun.
The head rest to the passenger front seat ejected. It's cushion is broken apart from what holds the component. While on park and the seat was empty.
The "racetrack" taillight system has a systemic issue with water infiltrating the enclosed sealed led taillight system. This caused portions of the taillights to burn out and cause lower visibility than intended. Warranty companies consider this a "serviceable" part like normal bulbs, brakes, tires, etc. The problem is that this "serviceable" part is an all enclosed unit and not a simple bulb replacement. You have to replace the entire panel at a cost of nearly $1000!!! or just drive with the limited safety of a fully functioning taillight system. This seems like a safety issueand once one section goes out the rest usually follow. This design flaw should not be considered a serviceable part and fc should be made to remedy the problem and fix this issue at their expense.
The led light bulb in the license plate housing goes out. It has been replaced 4 times in 2 years. Dealer diagnosed no problem and replaced bulb. Bulb lasted 2 days. Now it's past warranty and bulb is out again. According to owner's manual, i'm not supposed to be charged for repeat service visit for same issue after 3 visits.
Water is inside the lift-gate race track lighting assembly.warranty does not cover "water intrusion" of which this is.next month my vehicle will be 2 years old so if i don't it fixed at a cost of $1,100 the lights will soon be moldy, shorted out or causing the liftgate to rust out.this should be a warranty fix regardless of age or miles.
I recently noticed still water inside my rear center tail lamp on the lift gate while parked before leaving home, that wouldn't leave, as a result of this a portion of the lamp had went out and no longer worked, eventually the entire lamp stopped working now causing a safety concern as i am now less visible to those behind me and causing me to be ticketed several times from law enforcement because of the lamp being out which is now turning this into a $2000 plus problem. I have done my research and have learned that thousands of other durango owners from 2014 and 2015 are having this same issue and this needs to be a recalled part. I also have younger siblings that use my truck from time to time to travel to work and school and a grandmother who drives my vehicle at times and i can no longer let them drive my vehicle because i don't want them to destroy their driving record with constant tickets because of the lamp being out nor my grandmother or possibly getting into an accident due to the difficulty of being seen from behind now
Water is pooling in racetrack tail light when it rains.
Dealership will not call back or answer phone to repair recall p60 and p64all american chrysler jeep dodge of midland, texas
On third generation dodge durango's (2014-2020), water and moisture can get inside the racetrack light on the rear of the vehicle, causing the light to stop working in multiple places, and in colder climate, can cause the moisture to freeze and the light to crack. While the vehicle is running at night, the racetrack light is the only light that is constantly on. With water and moisture causing the light to discontinue operation, as well cause other electrical/lighting issues, it could become a very serious driving hazard. Water is currently inside the light on my vehicle, and frozen solid, causing the light to malfunction. Attached picture will show evidence. Vehicle was stationary when light started malfunctioning. Vehicle had never been involved in a motor vehicle accident. Light has never been removed from vehicle.
The fuel relay failed and had to replace thetimpthe fuel pump also failed twice.
Rear tracklight holding water after rain and carwash
My left turn signal went out, so i replaced both my left and right turn signals. My vehicle now registers that my right turn signal is out constantly, even though it is operating properly and my left turn signal does the same periodically. Since my purchase of this vehicle, i have had issues with the navigation not functioning properly. The radio display itself has a mind of it's own, this is how you operate most of the vehicles climate functions, back up camera, navigation and radio. When the vehicle comes on, it is supposed to turn on. However more often than not, it chooses to be off, and i have to wait for it to decide to turn on. If i do not have the a/c know turned off when it does this, both my front and rear defrosters will turn on full blast until the display chooses to operate properly. I have had this system updated with a usb drive at a dealership and nothing has changed. Overtly, i am not at all satisfied with how these electrical issues continue and there seems to be no resolve.
The contact purchased a 2015 dodge durango. When the vehicle was purchased, the dealer (jimmy britt chevrolet buick gmc, 1011 town creek blvd, greensboro, ga 30642, (706) 453-2500)stated that there were no recalls or failures with the vehicle. However, the contact had to make several repairs. The contact stated that the electrical system failed, which affected the heating and air conditioning. Also, the mileage on the odometer was incorrect based on the previous owner. The dealer finally agreed to repair the vehicle after the contact informed them that she was aware of the failures. The most recent failure was with the transmission, which was currently being repaired. The dealer stated that due to the odometer mileage difference, the contact would have to take a financial loss in order to trade in the vehicle. The contact did not the state from where the vehicle was purchased did not have a "lemon law" and was referred to the state's attorney general's office in her home state. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Request recall from chrysler dodge due to rear track light failure. Track light consist of 80% of your rear night time lights. Attached to the track light (rear back up camera and license plate light. I'm not able to travel freely after 7:30 pm due to no license plate light and constant flickering on/off track light. Dozens of youtube videos and different internet blogs complaining of the same issues. Chrysler dodge is very aware of these issues but refuse to recall the lights. $1,000.00-$1,200.00 replacement cost from dealerships. Used with some damageon line sights $600.00-$850.00. Issues caused by water/moisture dripping into the cheaply made design with no seal gaskets. Recall please!
The rear deck lid tail lights fill with water eventually shorting out the lights and impacting the ability for other drivers to see the vehicle from the rear.over time this may lead to other electrical problems as it is never good to have water accumulating in the tail lights.the backup camera is also shared in this component.this appears to be a known issue that fca dodge appears to be ignoring.the only solution offered is to replace the component with another which includes the backup camera for $1000.
Water is in the racetrack tail light on both sides, i noticed the sound of water moving while driving, and its water in my tail light. The light are out at the bottom because of this
While driving at highway speed without warning multiple error messages were displayed followed by instrument cluster shutting off completely.windshield wipers started without command.turn signals and lights would not work.functions slowly started to return however traction control remained disabled.
Bought a 2015 durango in may 2015 have had it 45days and it has been in the service dept at the dealership more than with me. The tailgate light gets filled up with water creating a short and burning our led lights in the tail light. This is a known issue and the dealership charges over $1000 for the light and the time spend replacing it. Fcu should pay for the faulty design and replace all the tailgate lights for free.
Water and moisture get into the rear light strip and causes led light failure. You cant fix the problem, just buy a new light assembly at $1000 and pray that doesnt get water in that one. Problem causes vehicle to fail inspection and poses a huge safety problem.
Water is entering taillight unit causing electronics to short. Water is entering due to a poorly designed seal on the top back of taillight.
The liftgate tail light assembly allows water to seep inside, pooling in the lighting assembly. This led to the rear lights shorting out and failing completely. After researching, this is a common problem that dodge continues to ignore; only offering to install a new assembly for the bargain price of $1200-1600 so that i will be visible from the rear to other drivers on the roadway.
Water is leaking into the racetrack tail light causing the damage and making the car less visible.
Car will try to start but won't turn all the way over. It does it intermittently. I've taken it to mark dodge and 2 other auto shops and no one can find the issue. It has done it over 15 times now
I have taken great measures to ensure the safety of my family and other drivers related to an ongoing issue of service shifter. I have taken my vehicle under extended warranty 3 times for the same problem and suspect autonation has been unable to identify issue nor troubleshoot. My vehicle unexplainable is not accelerating and down shifting properly. The last time i used a rental car only part was covered and we had a seatbelt scare because it wasnt securing my child. I desperately seeking resolution and have parked my vehicle for now until i can turn it over to the correct mechanic. Are you able to read error codes? where do i take my vehicle? i feel unsafe as the vehicle is unpredictable. For the fourth time, we almost experienced an accident leaving my parents enroute home. Warranty and autonation are closed. If someone could give me the correct procedure or steps i need to take. Incidents surrounding the service shifter has gone from inconvienant to traumatizing. This is a family vehicle and used to transport children. If someone could please advise. Where should i take my vehicle? how can i be assured problem fixed and vehicle safe to drive? this vehicle acceralates, shifts to neutral, jumps and doesnt properly down shift when prompted. I've taken it in for service 3 times within months and even weeks apart. What do i do next?
I was parked in my driveway on a slight decline and the vehicle was running and in park and i ran into the house to grab something and when i looked back it was rolling down the driveway and crashed and got stuck in between two trees. The vehicle is now totaled.
The led back tail lights are not properly sealed, so water can leak into them and short out the lights, and cause electrical shortage.have tried to work with the dealership, and the chrysler corp., but since the vehicle is a 2015 model it is out of warranty. I feel this was a bad seal right out of the factory.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving at an unknown speed, all the electrical functions, including the instrument panel, deactivated independently and then reactivated. In addition, the radio independently operated. The vehicle was previously remedied under nhtsa campaign number: 15v461000 (equipment). The failure occurred without warning. Prior to the failure, the air conditioning unit would function independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was repaired; however, the diagnostic results were not disclosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
Electronic fuel door was constantly getting stuck and would not open unless the inside button was pushed multiple times.when i went to get gas, the plastic door popped off so the metal hinge is now visible and is an eyesore.this is a major safety issue.
The center tail light in the dodge durango's with the racetrack set up have a leaking problem where water enters through posing a risk to the electrical system and inside of the vehicle. This basically happens whether the vehicle is in motion or parked. When it rains - water enters through the defectively sealed tail light. On facebook social media there's a fan club dedicated to dodge durango's where members have reported having the same problem including one person having to have their tail light fixed three times.
My rear racetrack lighting is not working. Water has gotten into the light and now has gone completely out. Truck is garaged kept and never been in accident. Truck just hit 50k miles. Please help as my tag lights aren't working either
While using the vehicle on marksheffel rd we noticed that the horn was not working. That was our first sign for concern. Shortly afterwards while at a stop light we noticed that the steering wheel controls were not working either. Lastly we noticed that there are multiple indicators on the dashboard that are displayed indicating a failure somewhere. One of the indicators relates to an airbag.the vehicle is only a few years old. According to many forums and reports online this is a recurring dodge issue that they fail to fix year after year. They have had recalls for this issue on other vehicles and years but not this 2015 durango and they will not cover it under any warranty. They should have had this issue resolved by now considering it has been going on since at least 1997. We drive our kids in this vehicle and feel that it is cause for concern but feel we should not have to pay for their mistakes.
Racetracklighttailgate has water in it which burnt out light. Warranty not covering. Major issue with all durango's with race track tailgate light.
Dodge "racetrack lighting" has cracks at upper left and upper right corners. Causing water to enter housing and short out a section of lights. Thankfully it has not caught fire. I see the same section of lights out on other dodge durangos. The dealership told me the "crack" was caused by me and there is nothing they can do about it and the cost would come out of my pocket. When inspected the cracks are uniform in shape and size.
Dodge durango water in taillights causes waterlog in the led lighting area and not draining led out on the left side of vehicle. Replacing item cost around $1085.00 and up manufacturing design defect. Vehicle has 31954 miles on it.
Afrter 2 months of ownership with 73000 miles on it this suv its turning off while driving this is the 5th time it happendswhile is off wipers move by it selfs doors and alarm open and closes just like its haunted took it to the dealer and they say nithing wrong with it im afraid for my life and my kids i have read and seen a lot a lot of complaints about thus issue and dodge has done nothing about it !!while driving this dead trap
While driving the vehicle randomly stalled/died, though the instrument cluster/electronics stayed on. I tried to start the vehicle, but the engine wouldn't turn over. The instrument cluster cycled through random error messages "vehicle phone requires service, service airbag system, oil pressure low, service electronic throttle control". Dodge dealership said they couldn't replicate the issue, and sent me home. On 4/4/2020, and 6/626/2020 the engine wouldn't turn over despite the instrument cluster turning on. On 4/15/2020 the dealership said the battery was defective and charged me to replace it, but the issue is still not resolved. On 5/1/2020 the trunk randomly opened while the vehicle was off and in my driveway, it was raining. On 5/27/2020, while driving in a storm, the instrument cluster said "service electronic brakes, brake fluid low" and the parking brake light kept coming on and off. The errors never showed up again after the vehicle dried off. On 6/26/2020, a day after a thunderstorm, the engine wouldn't turn over even though the instrument cluster came on. The ignition was stuck in "run", and the p/r/n/d lights were all on, and the instrument cluster said "service transmission continue in d do not shift or turn engine off"; but the engine was off. I had to disconnect the battery to turn the vehicle electronics off. *** every single time the vehicle has died while driving or failed to start while parked, i have gotten a u0100 engine codesan antonio dodge chrysler jeep has failed to diagnose or fix the issue, and dodge corporate has failed to provide any resolution except to tell me to take it to a different dealership. Dodge case/reference number is [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Water got into the led housing on the tailgate and all lights on tailgate then went out causing an expensive repair i now need.i went to milford (pa) dodge dealership when i first noticed water pooling in the light. ( not even 2months after purchase) and they told me there's nothing they can do to fix it. And the cpo they gave me won't cover the repair. This vehicle had 18k on it when i first noticed the water!!! this should be a recall as it is a very common complaint with these trucks and dodge is doing nothing about it! nearly every durango i see has an led out due to this.
Rear hatch light fills with water and the light stops working.only fix is to replace the very expensive light assembly.safety issue as rear light stops functioning.
After any amount of rain etc. Water leaking into led racetrack lighting causing led to short out.water pooling in driver and passenger sides racetrack strip ... Defective part not sealed properly.
The passenger side headlight connection burnt and melted the connection socket where the bulb connects. Had the same problem with my 2011 dodge charger. The wiring harness on the charger was part of a recall. The 2015 durango harness is not on a recall, yet. It's the same part, with the same problem.
Water is getting into the rear tail lights through the factory seam. There are no visible cracks on the tail light and water is pooling up on the inside and slowly leaking out of the factory seals around the housing. Water is causing the lights to short out.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 15v461000 (equipment) regarding a possible safety breach with the computer system. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact drove to an independent mechanic to have the computer system updated. While driving 35 mph in a rain storm, the windshield wipers began to operate frantically and the headlights turned off on their own. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that this was an unusual occurrence and advised her to take the vehicle to laurel valley motors (3656 state route 30, latrobe, pa 15650, 724-539-5500). The dealer performed a diagnostic and found no failures. Since the diagnostic, the contact stated that various electrical failures have occurred with the vehicle. On one occasion, the contact discovered that the vehicle started on its own while in the garage and that the vehicle was running hot while idling. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000.
My real racetrack light shut down because of the water inside of it.
Regarding odi pe 16-014 opened 16 december 2016: one year ago (12/29/15) a neighbor alerted me via text to the fact that my vehicle was in the street outside our home. I discovered my 2015 durango had rolled backward approximately 35 feet coming to rest in the middle of the street. My first thought was that i had somehow failed to put the vehicle in "park". However, after starting the vehicle, i could see the rotary dial controlling the transmission was clearly indicated to be in the "p" position. It's worth noting that at the time of the incident, the vehicle was not running and the parking brake was not engaged.obviously, having the vehicle roll away was no small concern. So i contacted the dealer who sold me the vehicle and was advised to take it to a dealer in my community for inspection. According to the service manager at the local dealership this was the second recent complaint he had received on this same issue. Ultimately, the dealer inspection turned up no discernable cause. I was subsequently contacted by the sm stating that chrysler was flying a couple of guys up to take a look at both vehicles involved in the roll-away complaint. This process ultimately resulted in my receipt of correspondence from an individual working "special investigations" for fca stating, in essence, that my durango is "functioning as designed". A few final thoughts: (1) the slope of our driveway is standard for homes built on flatland. An eyeball measurement has the rise at about 20" over a run of 36'. (2) our durango replaced a 2004 lincoln aviator. The aviator utilized the same position in our driveway for several years (sans engagement of the pb), yet we never had an issue with it rolling away. Maybe this can be attributed to dumb-luck. Or, maybe it was designed not to. (3) fortunately, we live on a quiet street. This could have been real bad.
The rear tail light assembly, middle portion, has collected water inside of it which comes in contact with the tail light led's inside causing them to short to ground. They blink/flash erratically but most of the time are not on. Also the license plate lights are affected by this and are not working either. Even after loosening the assembly and draining the water condensation can still be seen inside.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While at a stop or braking to stop, the vehicle jerked forward without warning. The vehicle was taken to finnegan chrysler jeep dodge ram (26433 southwest fwy, rosenberg, tx 77471, 281-342-9318) where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to driver error. The failure recurred while the contact was driving into a parking space. As a result, the vehicle jerked forward and struck the front of another parked vehicle. The air bag did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was slightly damaged, but was drivable. The vehicle was taken to the gillman chrysler jeep dodge ram dealer (10585 w sam houston pkwy s, houston, tx 77099, 713-776-4900) where recall repairs were performed per nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The technician stated that the vehicle jerked due to driver error and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was not called. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,600.
Water is collecting in liftgate tail light from bad seals. I've read forums of smelling smoke or burning wires from back of vehicle. Afraid of that happening so i decided to removed 4 bolts to let water drain and now the tail light doesn't work. This is a known defect and dodge/chrysler knows about it and refuses to work with us owners.
My rear tail light has water in it. Told dealership at 36k oil change and they said yes it happens all the time just put a hole in it to allow it to leak out. I said no that isnt what yoir supposed to do and they told me dodge will not cover it.
Dodge wants to charge $300 to swap out the bulb on the drivers' side blinker which can be done easily in about 10 minutes with regular or led bulb, however it seems that after having swapped out the bulb which shorted out on the terminal connector itself (why is my brand new car causing shorts first of all) so i installed an led on the right side as well.however, that caused problems saying the right blinker is out.so now, regardless of whether i have the led or the regular light installed on the passenger side blinker it now goes in and out saying "right side blinkder out" - and that's even when it works!??!!! why is the computer thinking the blinker is out when i see it works? granted, the stupid left side stopped being dumb but now is there some attenuation or something that the computer doesn't like since you burned out my first bulb and it's causing issues at the right side? dodge needs to address this as a recall under warranty because it is absolutely an issue, it's not a bulb problem, it occurs with any bulb and whether it i actually out or not is not accurate per the reporting from the computer.sometimes it says it's out and it is, other times it says it's out and it's not... This is a major safety issue notifying other surrounding people/vehicles of intent to turn.

Rear tail light housing center section in the lift gate has water intrusion which has caused led lights to short out. Noticed lights out and water in housing while vehicle was parked but smelled the order of electrical smoke while driving.
After backing out of garage, i placed the vehicle in park with engine running while i walked back into garage.note vehicle was parked on a slope. Emergency brake was not set. While in garage, i noticed vehicle was rolling down driveway.i was knocked down by drivers side door while trying to get in to apply brake.the vehicle then rolled over my mailbox, across street, over neighbor's mailbox and stopped when it hit a tree.my wife was in car so knows that rear parking sensors never chimed to indicate it was about to hit something which i believe confirms that the car wasn't still in reverse after backing out of garage.the air bags were not deployed.i believe that vehicle slipped out of park.it was not moving when i first got out.my injuries from being knocked to the ground and hers from being in the drivers seat both feel they didn't warrant emergency room treatment but will get treatment if pain persists.
Rear taillight assembly on the dodge durango has serious issues at a costly price. The left side of our taillight assembly has collected water and has short circuited the lower left portion of the lighting. You can actually see water pooled up in the lens. I have two neighbors that have had the exact same issue recently. Another neighbor was told he had to replace the entire assembly ($1k+) just because his left license plate light has gone out. I guess it is powered from the taillight assembly wiring harness. I have actually replaced that left rear license plate light 3 times in the last 18 months. Not cheap is $50 each.
Ractrack light on rear tailgate has water inside of it and shorted out. Noticed burnt smell.
Water gets in the back track light which is a known issue with the dodge track lights . My track light completely shorted out including my license plate lights . Dodge knows of this design flaw and should have to cover the cost of the replacement which is $1000 plus labor . Totally ridiculous and a obvious safety hazard
I put the car in park got out of the car to get the mail. The car rolled down the driveway and struck another car causing a lot of damage. The car left skid marks in the driveway....updated 04/11/17
2015 dodge durango - with no warning rmp's start to race but the car loses all power. Different light on dash have come on. Dealer has had the truck 5 times including the latest for over to weeks. They reprogram the computer and transmission and try to say its fixed. I refuse the take the vehicle back this time. This truck is a danger to my family and others on the road.it has put family in dangerous situation multiply times, including when trying to merge onto the new york state thruway inheavy traffic. We were lucky there was a shoulder to roll into.
Water in the tail light eventually burned out the lower left hand side, looks to be faulty sealant
Rear "racing" lights and tail lights fill with water every time it rains. See this is a common problem
Rear taillight assembly has water caused by a manufacture defect of not properly sealing light assembly. Vehicle was taken to the local dodge dealership and was told this is a common problem with light assembly. This is a saftey problem and a recall should be issued. This can cause a rear end accident which will result in injuries. The vehicle used by a law enforcement agency's across the country and can cause an injury to a law enforcement officer.
I have already went through 3 rear tracklights on this vehicle (it is the large taillap on the back of the car) the most recent photo shows a lot of water in it.
Rear 'racetrack' led lighting full of water from condensation. Lighting is shorting out and i am concerned about price to fix. Also it may be a danger to other drivers at night. 27,000 miles and already getting worse.
2015 durango rt/awd - water pools in the center tail lamp led and shorts it out, making not only the "race track" portion of the led lighting fail, but the tag lighting also, ticket issued from highway patrol.replacement module is $700+ this is a well know and common occurrence
While driving my radio display screen went off 3 different times and finally restarted. On another day the air conditioning would come on by itself. First it was the rear air would come on high, i would turn it off and it would come right back on. So i turn the air off completely front n rear, well it came back on by itself both of them. So i just locked the rear air and left the front air on. I was driving down the highway while this was happening

For a few months now, the bottom right hand section of the led 'racetrack' tail lights on the trunk of my durango has been burned out. Apparently, this is coming from water filling up in the leds due to weather stripping to keep water out failing too early. This normally wouldn't be a huge concern since tail lights can be replaced, however chrysler/dodge/fiat has made it entirely too expensive for anyone in their right mind to even try to afford a replacement. The leds cannot be easily replaced, therefore you have to replace the entire tail light/brake light portion on the trunk. On top of that, this part must come with the back up camera, you can't buy the part without the back up camera. The cost for this is 1,085 usd which is absolutely absurd, and that does not include the cost of labor as well. The brake lights of any vehicle are a huge safety function of the vehicle, both during the day in dark foggy/rainy conditions as well as anytime at night. Chrysler/dodge/fiat must either make this incredibly cheap to replace, or put in a recall to be replaced at the companies expense. Racetrack light in back of durango has water in it. Part of led light panelis now out after a good rain.
Smelled electronic burning in vehicle while driving on highway 378 from columbia sc.after about a minute the instument panelwent completely blank.worried that i might have a dash fire, i pulled over on the road shoulder in busy traffic to get my family out of the vechile and investigate.i called the local dealer service department and was told to bring the vechile in so they could repair it.nerviously i started the vechile back up with my family at curb side. I waited for several minutes to ensure an electrical fire did not occur.i drove straight to the dealership without any instrumentation, or turn signals.the vehicle has now been in there shop for over a month.
2015 dodge durango.consumer writes in regards to vehicle computer control system failure issues- loss of control to the shifter module/ transmission damage.the consumer stated the failure of the computer system controlled system affected the drivability on the highway. One significant issue resulting from the problem, was loss of control of the shifter module.it resulted in the transmission abruptly shifting from reverse into park with potential damage to the transmission. A diagnosis revealed all the problems the consumer experienced, were a result of shorted electrical wring.
While driving at highway speed without warning multiple error messages were displayed followed by instrument cluster shutting off completely.windshield wipers started without command.turn signals and lights would not work.functions slowly started to return however traction control remained disabled.
Lifters dealership said the warranty ended in february this yr. That's not fair my has 86000 miles on it.
The vehicle will rapidly accelerate when applying the brakes and attempting to stop the vehicle.the engine will be racing, the rpm gauge will show increasing rpms towards maximum and the vehicle will try to move forward.the brakes have to be applied and the vehicle put in park to stop the acceleration. The vehicle was in motion a city streets and happened on at least four times in a two week period.
Iam tierd of going to the dealer engine ticking , calipers front making noise , experienced bucking , hesitation during acceleration, back of truck making noise wen backing out of drive way , ac unit evaporator gone bad , camshaft and rockets went , i only have 40 thousand miles on it , and i baby the truck .. What is going on with this model???? every time i got it the dealer something else goes bad...the vehicle has trouble adjusting to barometer changes , sun roof leaked water twice during a storm into my sunglasses holder.. Calipers squeak and pin stuck left front caliper , something has to be done i can't keep gointo the dealer please is this truck a lemon?
I heard a ticking noise coming from the right side of the engine.took it to farrish of fairfax, va (703-273-0200) dealership and they did the following, "removed valve cover and inspect valve train.found worn out rockers on cylinder #5 intake.camshaft lobe also worn out.replaced right bank intake camshaft."at the current level, we did not notice any drivability issues and fuel mileage appeared to be normal.we couldn't even hear the ticking from inside the car with the windows up and radio off.we could only hear it form outside the vehicle.this appears to be a common issue.the mechanic knew exactly what it was when i told him we had a ticking noise in a durango.i didn't tell him the engine and he came back with "if it's a 3.6 motor probably a worn out camshaft caused by rocker arm roller bearings wearing out prematurely.bring it on in."here's two links to a similar owners' experiences:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dphcjldsw4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzif0gc4bgiwe only had 49,237 miles on the vehicle, but were just out of the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.dealership did cover cost of repair.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While checking the vehicle, the contact noticed an oil leak on the engine. The vehicle was taken multiple times to jack powell chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 1625 auto park way, escondido, ca 92029, (760) 745-2880). The dealer drove the vehicle a couple of miles and repaired the engine by filling it with silicone. The second time the dealer serviced the vehicle for a week and repaired the valve gasket with silicone. The last time the vehicle was taken to the dealer was on may 25, 2019, but no failure was found. The contact still experienced the failure after multiple repair attempts. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 33,386.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving various speeds with the air conditioner activated, the defroster failed to defrost the windows. The contact also heard an abnormal noise coming from the air conditioning unit. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air conditioner evaporator core failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Another independent mechanic was also contacted and scheduled an appointment for diagnostic testing. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The contact was concerned for her safety due to the possibility of the failure occuring in the extremely hot weather conditions. The failure mileage was approximately 82,201.

My engine has started making a ticking noise.i got online and did some research and this is a well known issue for this engine.why has there not been some sort of recall if this is common?
Rocker arms or lifters causing 'ticking noise/ sound' at 113,000 miles. After online research, many dodge durango 2014 and later modes have same issue.
I was exiting a parking garage and applied my brake to stop to pay the parking fee. When i came to a stop the truck unexpectedly accelerated with my foot on the brake.i pushed as hard as i could on the foot brake but the engine was registering 4 to 5,000 rpms. My truck moved on thru the parking gate breaking the gate and then my truck entered into the main road. I almost hit two people walking on the sidewalk in front of the parking garage. I was able to move the truck into neutral once through the gate and the rpms went back to normal. Second event: in june of 2020 i was entering a different parking garage. I had toput the truck in park to open my door to retrieve the parking ticket. I got back in and put the truck in drive when i pushed on the gas pedal the truck again accelerated up to 4,000 to 5,000 rpms. I was able to brake and move the transmission into neutral and everything returned to normal. Third event occurred about two years ago. I had stopped at a red light with a car in front of me. The engine accelerated to 4,000 to 5,000 rpms. This time i had both feet on the foot brake. I then moved one foot over to engage the emergency brake. While stopped i could not move the truck from drive to neutral. Once the light turned green the car in front of me moved on. I was able to pull the truck over to the right curb and then i was able to move it into neutral. If i had not engaged the emergency brake i would have ram the car in front of me. I took my truck to a dodge dealer and they could not duplicate this event. These events are very alarming and very random. Any help would be appreciated.
Engine races while in park
Car will try to start but won't turn all the way over. It does it intermittently. I've taken it to mark dodge and 2 other auto shops and no one can find the issue. It has done it over 15 times now
The contact purchased a 2015 dodge durango.
I am at 92,000 miles and i have a ticking sound in my engine. While just in park you can hear the ticking sound as well as when you excel while driving. I do my oil changes every 3,000 miles and i seen this is an issues on a lot of other dodge durango models. Should this me a recall with this happening to so many?
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the vehicle emitted an abnormal anti-freeze odor. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to best chrysler dodge jeep ram (520 colony pl, plymouth, ma) where it was diagnosed that a crack in the radiator caused the odor and recommended it be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic who confirmed the dealer's diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v461000 (equipment) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The adaptive cruise control (acc) applies the brakes and brings the vehicle to a stop when following another vehicle in traffic.if the vehicle ahead does not move forward within two seconds (unlikely in heavy traffic) the acc displays a message in the dash warning the driver to press the brake and then suddenly shuts off the acc and releases the brake causing the car to being to creep forward.my car came close to rolling into the car in front because the first time i used the acc i did not expect this behavior.the acc is promoted as having a stop and go feature.i expected the acc to wait until the car i was behind to resume speed and then resume speed for my car accordingly.(this is the way i was used to this feature working in my mercedes s550).there is a sophisticated center dash computer system showing climate, radio, nav, etc.i was exploring this system and not watching the driver information display in the dash and as such, missed the very brief message warning me to apply the brake.besides the fact that in essence this car does not really employ a stop and go feature for all practical purposes and lulls a new driver into a false sense of security, the current implementation makes no sense from a safety standpoint.the driver should not have to do anything for the car to resume following the car in front.a less desirable, but better implementation would be to require some driver input to the car to resume travel - but this certainly would not qualify as a stop and go acc.
The center tail light (referred to as the "racetrack" went completely out, as well as the two led license plate illumination lamps.it was discovered in early september 2018.the vehicle was in park at the time, and running with headlights on.since then, i have traveled with no center tail light and no license plate illumination lamp.i have taken my vehicle to the local dodge dealership (sport hyundai dodge, egg harbor township, nj 08234) for warranty repair.the service adviser states that the tail light has failed, and that he has ordered a replacement, which should be in the week of october 7, 2018.
Mt rear, center tail light has water inside which has caused the light to slowly die out.
Rear gate taillight filled with water shorting out lightsover $1000 to fix stupid.
Exterior tail light's interior gets flooded with water every time it rains. There is nothing abnormal about my vehicle, this is the second dodge durango i have owned (2015+) with the same exact issue.
Water and condensation on the tail lights
The rear light center light panel on the lift gate (aka racetrack lights) were not sealed properly and as a result water penetrated both sides and burned out all the bulbs. This seems to be a common problem with dodge and the dealer will not cover. This is a clear defect and dealer should be made responsible for repair since, without these lights, the car is not as safe since it would be less likely for a following driver to see me braking or backing up without these lights functioning.
My vehicle has a led light bar assembly on the lift gate that includes what dodge calls a "race track" tail light, plus the reverse lights, and rear license plate lights.these are all in one assembly.this assembly has a fault or short to ground that causes it to not illuminate the "race track" tail light and the rear license plate lights.the dealer indicates the entire assembly has to be replaced at a cost of over $1000.i recently noticed water is also entering this assembly, which may be the cause of the electrical short to ground.led light assemblies should not be failing in three years.since this is a complete assembly, there are no simple bulbs to replace.with this assembly failing, my vehicle is not in compliance because the rear license plate is not illuminated, plus all of the factory rear taillights are not illuminated.i am the original owner of the vehicle and it has never been wrecked or had any rear damage.
Brought my 2015 dodge durango in for a state inspection. Was told that there was a computer error message stating "liftgate park lamp short". The service person stated that there was water in the light, andthat i would need to have it replaced to pass inspection for roughly $1200. When asked how the water got in, he did not know. Because water was the cause of the short, it was not covered by the maximum care vehicle protection warranty that i purchased when i bought the car. When i googled the problem, i saw that many others were having the same issues and were completing this form to have nhtsa look into the problem with water leaking into the light.
27,300 miles and i have water pooling inside my led tracks of my tail lights. This is potentially going to cause the lights to short out and possibly blow fuses. This needs to be remedied by manufacturer being this is a very common issue
My real racetrack light shut down because of the water inside of it.
In march of 2019 a policeman in my hometown stopped me and told me my taillight on my 2015 dodge durango was out. On further examination the policeman and i discovered that part of my tail light was not lit up and that my tail light has water in it. We can see the moisture and the water line. I took it to the service department where i bought vehicle. They examined my vehicle and told me that it was a bad design and that water was indeed in my taillight. They further told me that the extended warranty that i purchasedwhen i bought vehicle would not cover it because it was water intrusion. They said it would cost $1,300.00 approx. To replace taillight. Ive been researching for the last 3 weeks and found a forum that had 100's of complaints on 2015 dodge durangosthat have the same issue thati have. One complaint even stated that while she drove her car she could smell burning . I'm very concerned that this could indeed start a fire. I have my grandchildren with me 75% of the time when i am driving this vehicle that in itself isvery distressing for me.
The race track brake lighting on the back hatch has filled with water and failed safety inspection. There are no scrapes, scratches, or any indication that anything is damaged. There have been numerous complaints from other owners with similar lighting and the fix is over $1,000. I bought the car brand new and have contacted both the dealer and dodge corporate who will not accept responsibility for an obvious defect/design flaw.

The tailgate light gets filled up with water creating a short and burning our led lights in the tail light. This is a known issue and the dealership charges over $1000 for the light and the time spend replacing it. Fcu should pay for the faulty design and replace all the tailgate lights for free.
Water is leaking into the racetrack tail light causing the damage and making the car less visible.
Rear lift gate tail light. Water enters the lighting assembly which causes the led light to stop working.
Water has infiltrated the rear liftgate racetrack led light on 2015 dodge durango. Portion of the light is out. Much information has been posted about this as a design flaw with dodge. Eventually the entire light fails as well as the license plate light and becomes a safety issue while operating at dusk or night as rear of vehicle is not illuminated. Dodge should issue a recall to have this replaced and sealed to prevent it from happening further. This problem has been well documented. To repair, owner is responsible to have light replaced at an exuberant cost. I believe dodge should repair at no cost as this is a safety issue.
I noticed that there is a crack or opening in the race track light of the dodge durango trucks from 2015 and above.i have a dodge durango like my wife, my neighbor, and my mothers neighbor.all of us have an opening at the top of our racetrack lights where the light is not completely seal and the opening is enough to allow water to get in and settle into the light.this is an issue as it can cause a shortage in the race track light.for myself it has already accured with mine opening being on the rear passenger side and my wife being on the rear driver side.this is an issue as even my neighbor who has a brand new durango had this issue.i've only had my vehicle for a year and half and purchased it beyond the 36k warranty.this is a issue in which can cause a shortage of the tail lights, which causes the owner to be responsible for a defective tail light coming from the manufacture.i've seen many compliant and forums of owners dealing with this issue and it has been a leading cause for owners to have to pay over $1,000 to get this issue fixed.i spoke with the dealer and the manufacturer of dodge in which neither of them can speak on the matter to fix or remedy the issue.this shortage can be a fire and safety hazard as owners driving that have water leaking into their race track light can then end up have the tail lights go out due to an issue of a defective item from the manufacturer in which the owner has no control over this matter and wouldn't think to even look at it until something is actually wrong.the big issue is that i'm shipping my vehicle to germany soon and this is an issue in which i don't want my vehicle unable to be processed due to a defective item from the manufacturer.
The center tail light in the dodge durango's with the racetrack set up have a leaking problem where water enters through posing a risk to the electrical system and inside of the vehicle. This basically happens whether the vehicle is in motion or parked. When it rains - water enters through the defectively sealed tail light.
The racetrack tail lighting is filling up with water due to leaking seals. The water is shorting out the lighting system and can completely short out leaving no center brake light on the lift gate, leaving you vulnerable to a rear end collision. This affects the whole electrical system. Dodge is aware of the problem and the fix is to have the consumer pay $1100 to replace it even though it will happen again.
Seals around the rear liftgate racetrack lighting have allowed water to enter making the lights fail.this causes a safety issue by having the racetrack lights to fail.state inspections also fail this fault until the unit is replaced for $1120 in parts which will eventually fail again, we are not fixing this issue we are putting a band-aid on a situation needs to be looked at.
Light assembly on rear hatch does not seal properly allowing for water to penetrate and retain in light housing, causing turn signals to short and fail.
The racetrack taillights accumulate water inside ... This is a well known issue that many had to spend 1000's out of pocket .. The dealer fix is to drill holes in lights to drain water ... After replacement of lights the new ones still accumulate water so this is a bad design that needs to be rectified
Rear center led light section filled with water. Frozen water caused the light to crack making it even more likely to fill with water. The light only works intermittently and will often go out, along with the light that illuminates the license plate. This is a widespread problem...check dodgedurango.net for numerous discussions relating to this problem in durangos from 2014 and later.
There is water getting into my rear 'racetrack' taillight area causing them to short out and becoming a danger to others on the road.noticed it around june 2018
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the tail lights failed to illuminate due to moisture from the rain. The vehicle was taken to diehl chrysler dodge jeep ram of robinson (6181 steubenville pike, mckees rocks, pa 15136, (412) 722-1800), but was not diagnosed because it exceeded 36,000 miles. The dealer stated that the failure was a weather issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
The passenger side headlight connection burnt and melted the connection socket where the bulb connects. Had the same problem with my 2011 dodge charger. The wiring harness on the charger was part of a recall. The 2015 durango harness is not on a recall, yet. It's the same part, with the same problem.
Rear tail light housing center section in the lift gate has water intrusion which has caused led lights to short out. Noticed lights out and water in housing while vehicle was parked but smelled the order of electrical smoke while driving.
Water in the racetrack taillight caused burnt out led lights
Defective middle light housing of rear taillights, which separates over time and allows water to pool in lower light bar, around leds - eventually leading to led failure.this appears to be a known issue for dodge.i have had the middle led taillight section replaced once by dodge feb 2018 at approximately 33,000 miles. Now after 15 months, at approximately 44,000 miles the exact situation is happening again. The taillight has separated again and is allowing water to enter into the led section, again leading to led failure as shown in attachment.
Water pools up in tail lights every time it rains, causes tail light to appear 'burned out' light appears to go our due to water in tail light. Could cause electrical problems or crash.
Problem with front turn signal message not working, changed bulbs but still getting the message this is an issue not knowing if turn signals are working
Dodge durango water in taillights causes waterlog in the led lighting area and not draining led out on the left side of vehicle. Replacing item cost around $1085.00 and up manufacturing design defect. Vehicle has 31954 miles on it.
I have 2015 dosge durango rt and iit has racetrack style tail light which divided in to three section right side tail light, center lift gate tail light and right side tail light from this three section the center section which is mounted on tail gate is started to have water building up in it and i couldnt figure out at first than after doing little search on internet i came across lot of peiple's complaint with same problem and no solution and than suddenly theright lower corner of center tail gate tail light just went out.for this particular problem i am definitely blamming dodge for installing bad defective parts on their vehicles and they should change them out under recall for free because this is really shame to charge 50,000$ for car that has factory installed defective parts and company is not taking steps to change them out.
Water entering the rear light bar plastic covering and shorting out the light system. This is an ongoing problem causing the lights to not work and safety issue.
Water accumulation in tail gait light causing the led light to go off. There was no damage to the light.
Rear taillight/backup light assembly allowed water penetration and subsequently shorted out some of the led bulbs inside the assembly.rear lighting at night is impaired and makes vehicle less likely to be seen at a distance at night.assembly includes the backup camera and is only replaceable as the entire lighting/camera unit.dealer has indicated that the unit is not repairable and it is not being replaced by fica.continued water penetration could also short out the backup camera and making it in violation of federal law.
Center rear tail light assembly has short on right side. Several led bulbs no longer light up affecting vehicle visibility. There is no visible damage to the lens.
Light on tailgate filled with water
Backup lamp assembly part number 68155950aj has water inside if it. Dodge claims its a "light" and will not fix the issue. Its a $700.00 light. Many different web sites have the same frustrated customers complaining about the same issue.seal goes bad and water gets in, lots of water.
Water gets into the rear liftgate lighting (then'racetrack' light which causes the led to fail. Over time the problem will spread causing visibility to suffer.once water is in there and leds fail the only option is replacement of the entire assembly.
The contact owns 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that during inclement weather, the rear taillamps allowed for water intrusion in the taillamp housing which caused the bulbs to burn out prematurely. The vehicle was taken ot the dealer waldorf dodge ram 2294 crain hwy waldorf, md 20601 (240) 754-2990 where it was inspected, not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. The vin was not available.
Rear hatch tail light got water inside of it. Rain water. Poor seal. Now part of light is not working. The dealership quoted approximately $1200.00 to replace. Another $200.00 labor. Can't just replace a bulb. Have to replace the whole assembly. I am learning this is a common issue with durango's that have this light. This is a manufacture flaw with these light assemblies. They should be recalled!
I have already went through 3 rear tracklights on this vehicle (it is the large taillap on the back of the car) the most recent photo shows a lot of water in it.
The rear "racetrack" tail lamp which spans the liftgate fills with water.this is the second tail lamp assembly on my vehicle.the first one was replaced by dodge under warranty.less than 1 year later, the replacement is also leaking.several reports of water in the lens causing ultimate failure of the electronics and the lamp.
Tailgate center race track lighting completely out. Water gets in both sides of the center light and now just yesterday the entire assembly went out and does not illuminate at all.
Race track lighting on rear lift gate has burned out. Lighting fixture is supposed to be sealed. Moisture was able to get into lighting fixture causing light to burn out. Neitherdodge customer service, dodge dealership,or complete titanium plus extended warranty are willing to rectify this problem that is being experienced by many other individuals. This race track lighting fixture illuminates the rear of the vehicle and without it may result in a serious rear end collision.
The rear center lift gate racetrack light (lower right passenger side) is dim and flickerson and off like if i were applying the brakes. This is both when in motion and stationary. I believe water or moisture accumulates in that area.i believe it's a safety hazard and could cause an electrical taillight failure causing an accident. My vehicle is only 5 yrs old and shouldn't be having this problem.i see a lot of 2015 models with that exact same problem and feel that dodge has a responsibility to its costumers in fixing this.thank you.
My racetrack taillight in the back of my 2015 dodge durango has accumulated water build up on both sides of it and has caused the left part of the unit to short out. It is absolutely absurd that chrysler will not cover this because about half the durangos i see on the road have this as well. It is nothing myself, or any other of the other owners on the road have done to make this happen, it is a design flaw in the vehicle. I suggest maybe allocating some of the cherokee and wrangler revenue over to pay for this in order to keep customers safe considering the unit is $1200.00. That's a pretty hefty expense for someone to have to incur if they didn't do anything to bring it upon themselves. This happened to the vehicle shortly after i bought it. I don't need to include a picture because everyone at chrysler is fully aware of the description of the problem due to how many people share the same concerns. Again, it's crazy how this is not covered.
Center tail lamp fills with water from rain / snow. Fails to turn on.
Water infiltration into raceway rear light-led shorted out and no longer works. Not sure when or how it entered.
I have noticed water inside the tail lights. It rained for a couple of days but not hard.
Rear race track lighting works intermittently, causing no lights on the licence plate at night. Led lighting burnt out in areas when working. This is the second time it has happened and very expensive fix!
Water is collecting inside of the tail-gate lights assembly causing it's complete failure - no lights mounted on the tailgate are working.
Rear tracklight holding water after rain and carwash
The taillights have standing water in them and i have no clue how water would be able to get in there. The water will not drain and now it has caused a portion of my light to go out. After reading this online, i've seen a lot of durango owners with this issue and i feel this has to be turned into a recall. I have only had my car for one year and i am no longer in the warranty but i feel this should not be an out of pocket expense.
Rain water getting into taillight assembly causing water to pool inside light and cause leds to short and no longer illuminate.and the cost to replace the assembly is over $1000.
Racetrack light in back of durango has water in it. Part of led light panelis now out after a good rain.
Water is collecting in the right hand corner of the ractrack taillight. It has shorted out the led
Water in the tail light eventually burned out the lower left hand side, looks to be faulty sealant
Water gets in the back track light which is a known issue with the dodge track lights . My track light completely shorted out including my license plate lights . Dodge knows of this design flaw and should have to cover the cost of the replacement which is $1000 plus labor . Totally ridiculous and a obvious safety hazard
Rear twilight which was replaced once (9/17) as a 'goodwill outside of warranty ' replacement is leaking again and will not pass state inspection. Dealership and warranty company both refusing to replace again.
Water collects in the rear taillight assembly causing led lighting to short out and become non functioning. Not sure if water collected in assembly while vehicle is moving or stationary.
Rear racetrack type tail light has water in it and only works periodically
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that water leaked inside the tail light assembly, which caused the tail lights to malfunction. The cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,000.
Rear track lights fill with water. It is really dim and the only way to drain is to unscrew the bolts. Afraid that eventually the whole thing will burn out.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated the water leaked into the brake light on the liftgate. The failure caused the brake light to short out. The dealer (tate chrysler jeep dodge frederick, 5629 buckeystown pike, frederick, md 21704) stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,000.
I also have younger siblings that use my truck from time to time to travel to work and school and a grandmother who drives my vehicle at times and i can no longer let them drive my vehicle because i don't want them to destroy their driving record with constant tickets because of the lamp being out nor my grandmother or possibly getting into an accident due to the difficulty of being seen from behind now
Noticed water & condensation collecting in lift gate raceway lighting system with truck parked in driveway on 3-23-18.lower right side does not fully illuminate now.drained by removing lower outside screw & several ounces ran out (thanks you-tube).bought vehicle in early january 2016 as a new 2015 sxt.has about 24,000 miles.i drive the truck easy and there was no external damage to the light assembly.a quick you-tube search yielded this as a common issue with many 2014, 2015 durango models.heard this is about a $1000+ replacement.
Tail light takes in water and lower right side looses illumination.
Water is pooling in racetrack tail light when it rains.
Rear tail light (racetrack light) portion burned out. It was improperly sealed and allowed water runoff to collect inside bottom part. This causes the racetrack light to burnout. This is a hazard that if not fixed and tail lights go out while driving, could cause an accident and seriously injure people.
The rear passenger light stays on all the time the blinker will not work. We have changed the whole unit and it still does the same thing. I now have it and the shop and going to cost me a lot of money. My durango it not old enough to have this problem. I love my durango 2nd one we have bought.
When it rains a significant amount of water pools in the racetrack style tailight of the vehicle. It subsequently burns out the light in the area where the water pools.
Driving at night, car passes me and aggressively honked/pointed behind me.pulled over and noticed my rear lights were completely out.messed with the light switch to see if it made a difference, it did not.next day i see water pooled on both sides of the tailgate lighting assembly.did research and learned to remove bolts to drain water from the assembly.some functionality returned but right lower side remains out.
The tailgate light on the lift gate collects water when it rains or is being washed. I need to lift the gate to let the excess water drips out. The light is discolored in the lower left and lower right side.
The center led light on my durango somehow has water in it; the water originally caused a short on one side that dimmed the light. I first noticed december 2018 when a motorist stopped me after taking a picture. As of january 21, 2019 the light has completely went out due to the water damage. This has to be some sort of manufacturer defect as i am not sure where the water is entering in. On the 21st i was pulled over by a police officer because he said the flicking could potentially cause an accident. Luckily i was left off with a warning. Per westgate dodge here in indy the fix will cost more than $1300 to correct. I have provided
"takata recall" i purchased a 2015 dodge durango on december 3 2015 however i notice that its water condense in the racetrack light and its a couple of spots where its blowed out thats very dangerous and needs immediately attention..
I have noticed that the taillights have leaked and now the build/led is staring to go out. This seems to be a widespread problem, others have mentioned removing bolts to let moisture escape. Only problem is now the light has been damaged, and i don't understand why the manufacturer would think unscrewing the light housing would be acceptable to fix a mistake on their end! i get they are in the business of selling vehicles, but show some integrity and make it right with your customers. This started to happen at about 70k miles, which i get is outside of the 'very short' bumper to bumper warranty, but maybe try to work with the vehicle owner to try and keep them as a customer. This should be part of a recall, because the lamp could potentially burn out due to a defect on the manufacturers part. There is no light bulb to replace, it is an entire light housing that is very expensive to replace. The light could malfunction and cause an accident, possibly harming people.
Water has gotten into the taillight which causes the led lights to short out.
Racetrack light bar fills with water and causes tail lights to blow out.following snow storm in april 2018 the light bar had approximately a 1/4 cup of water inside of the two tail lights. It is now nov 2018 and every time it rains i have to drain the tail lights of approximately the same amount.in 6 months i've had to drain them approximately 8 times and tail lights are showing signs of malfunction and shorting of the lights.i have taken the truck to the dealership twice and complained about the problem and they would not do anything.
Seal on the center tail light 'racetrack lighting' is ineffective. The light fills up with water, does not drain, and stops functioning. Dealer is aware of it being a common problem, but is still charging over $1,200 to repair.
I am providing some updated information and photos to a previous complaint (nhtsa id# 11139459) i filed regarding the rear liftgate lights (racetrack led light) on my dodge durango.water has entered the rear liftgate light assembly causing it to intermittently work or at times flicker.this may cause confusion to drivers behind my vehicle, as to whether i am braking or not. This may cause rear-end type collisions.i removed the rear liftgate light assembly to remove the water that had entered it causing the short.the top of the light assembly is not sealed up from the factory.water enters from the top and then is trapped in the assembly, causing the short.this is an obvious manufacturer defect causing a safety problem.i will submit pictures showing where it is not sealed up.
Rear taillight was not sealed properly at factory and water got inside. Water water collected inside and burnt out the right lower taillight.i have seen 100's of other dodge durangos with the same problem. Dodge needs to make this right for customers and recall and correct the problem.this problem is occuring when in a car wash as well as in rainy, wet weather.
Water gets into the rear race track taillight , which causes the led's to burn out/blink. Gotten many close calls accidents because drivers can't see when i hit the brakes . Sometimes the whole led assembly shuts off . Vehicle only has 36,400 miles
Water is entering taillight unit causing electronics to short. Water is entering due to a poorly designed seal on the top back of taillight.
2015 durango rt/awd - water pools in the center tail lamp led and shorts it out, making not only the "race track" portion of the led lighting fail, but the tag lighting also, ticket issued from highway patrol.replacement module is $700+ this is a well know and common occurrence
Taillights fill with moisture causing bulbs to burnout & create hazard when braking. Seals to keep moisture out need to be replaced or updated
Racetrack lighting on rear hatch burnt out. Moisture inside.
Tail middle light get water inside when it rains. Now my light is completely out with water inside the light.
Water is collecting in the back taillights. When the back mounting bolt is removed a considerable amount of water drains out. The condensation remains and will lead to failure of the led lights. This is a costly part to replace and is a safety hazard. The issue is well known and there is no solution from dodge.
Rear tail lamps are sealed led units which are getting water/ condensation inside. This causes the led lamps to fail and affect rear visibility. Sealed lamps should not have any water entry. The entire unit must be replaced at a significant cost to the consumer, with a retail price of $422.00, part only. Long term safety is the issue as these lamps fail from the water entry.
The lense on the center brake light (race track light), apparently has a defective gasket, allowing the brake lights to fill with water and cause them to go out.i only have 22,000 miles on this car, it's my baby!it will be awhile before i can fix this, as it will be over $1000 to repair. Ridiculous!safety doesn't seem to be much of a concern for dodge.
Water is filling up in the bottom of the race track lights in the rear. This is apparently a common defect in the design of the casing that a lot of people are having.
Whether it rains or i get my the vehicle washed, water collects in both sides of the tail light and shorts the led out. This poses a risk of night time rear-end collisions if the entire light shorts out which i am afraid it may eventually. The cost is over $1000 to replace it because it is one, big assembly which houses both the left and right lights and also the backup camera.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that water leaked through a hole into the tail lights on both the driver and passenger sides. As a result, the lights short out. The dealer liccardi chrysler dodge ram (130 us-22, green brook township, nj 08812 (732) 752-7373) stated that since the 33,000 mile warranty had expired there was nothing they could do to cover the repairs. The whole track light unit would have to be replaced at a cost $2,500. The manufacturer provided the contact a complaint number and offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 77,000.
Rear led tail-light partially burned out due to water leaking into tail-light cover due to poor design of assembly.entire led tail-light must be replaced, is costly, and not covered under warranty.this is obviously a known and chronic problem amongst dodge durango owners!
Water in rear center racetrack tail light.
Liftgate race track lighting fills with water. One portion of the led went out, now the entire light is burned out.
The tailgate lighting is taking in water, because it has filled with water my led lights have gone out on the bottom right portion of the strip. When i took my durango to the dealership for them to fix 2 recalls i asked if this was a problem they saw a lot, they said that it is a problem that gets brought to them pretty often.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the rear racetrack light filled with water and failed to illuminate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.consumer stated dealer was noified both times. It was repaired twice.
Rear tail gets water damage causing led to go dark
39,000 miles.left front turn signal with corrosion on bulb causing it not to function.multiple led bulbs burned out and replaced.now rear tail light assembly leds burning out.all very early in life of the vehicle.
The tail light on the hatch collected water and now it burnt out
The rear hatch light assemby has a leak and holds water.took to dealer for repairs was told led lights not covered under warranty.this is not a defect in led lights, its a defect in the assembly which is causing led lights to malfunction, which is a danger to myself and others as if the lights go out due to the defect i will have no back lights which could cause a vehicle behind me to not be able to see my vehicle in time to stop causing a rearend collision.this is defective manufacturing, which could also cause a short in the vehicle which could cause a fire.it is not condensation or moisture as everytime it rains or its washed the assembly fills with water.this is very dangerous to myself as well as others.
Rear racetrack tail lights keep filling up with water from rain, carwashes and melting snow and now has damaged lighting in one area and it's inevitable that other areas will soon be damaged.
60,000 mile garage kept durango with p0455 (evap purge hose crack) check engine light. Warranty is out (so much for my extended warranty- wont cover) and dealership wont repair without charging me. There are numerous tsb 25-002-15 regarding this problem.issue a recall..rear taillights all leak water. Moisture and water is visible and the car hasn't been wet in some time. My complaint matches the others out there. Facory lights leaking causing damage to the lighting aspect and safety of my vehicle and other around me.dealership wont replace, warranty wont cover. Pricing is absurdly high to replace.this is a safety issue and a recall need to issued. I bought this vehicle in good faith that dodge and warranty people would take care of issues that are manufacturer related. Not so!!
Center rear tail light assembly collects water and shorts out. Bulbs no longer light up affecting vehicle visibility. There is no visible damage to the lense.
Exterior lighting - brake lights - rear rear center led light is filled with water. Light does not work. This is a common problem. Widespread issue. Replacing the light is not the permanent fix. The problem will reoccur even after the replacement over the time. This should be recalled.
Water getting into the 'racetrack' portion of the rear tail lights causing malfunction including melting and snorting out wires.
Race track taillight on rear decklid has water pooling in the bottom right corner of light!
Water leaking into rear liftgate light
Race track lighting on tailgate partially shorted out. Appears to have moisture inside. Dealer says repair/replacement isn't covered under extended comprehensive plan
Ractrack light on rear tailgate has water inside of it and shorted out. Noticed burnt smell.
Moisture got inside rear 'racetrack' light and now that part does not light up.many other durangos have reported this issue.
Headlights not working, not daylights nor manually. Only the fog light are working at this time.
My rear led light bar is out. I looked and there is water inside of the light bar. There are gaps all around the light bar which is how the water is getting in. Warranty is trying to deny coverage. This has to be a manufacturing issue. There is a lot of proper with the same issue that i am having.
Water has collected in rear tailgate lights which has caused lights to malfunction including license plate lights.
Liftgate race track lighting fills with water. One portion of the led went out, now the entire light is burned out.
Rear tail light assembly allows water to enter which cause the race track taillights to blow and forces consumers to spend over $1000 to fix this issue.
Rear 'racetrack' led lighting full of water from condensation. Lighting is shorting out and i am concerned about price to fix. Also it may be a danger to other drivers at night. 27,000 miles and already getting worse.
Water pooling in bottom of racetrack lighting.shorting out lights
Seat heats don't work properly when remote starts. Sometimes when you manually start they work. Back track light some how got water inside and now the whole track light is not working along with license plate light.
Tail light collects water while in motion on any road or stationary. Lights short out which can be hazardous when driving in the rain or at night.
Water in the tail lights.every time i get the car washed or it rains i have to drain the taillight. I'm so afraid that the water will short out the electrical system or burn out the taillights, then i would have to pay $600 for a new one.
Water is getting into the rear tail lights through the factory seam. There are no visible cracks on the tail light and water is pooling up on the inside and slowly leaking out of the factory seals around the housing. Water is causing the lights to short out.
The taillights on my vehicle have developed a leak for water to enter the housing, and cause them to burn out. This is common amongst all early model years 2014 and even up to the current model year. This is a manufacturer defect and poses a serious safety concern. Drivers behind me may not be able to see my brake lights if they are burned out. The housing is for led lights and is very expensive, it should have been sealed better for the life of the vehicle. Again, this is a very serious problem and deserves to be investigated properly. Thank you for your time and i look forward to your action on this safety item. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The light assembly on the liftgate has water in it and the light has gone out
Water leaks into rear light on the tailgate on a regular basis. Whether the car is parked when it's raining outside or i'm driving in the rain, water gets into the light and now the passenger side portion of the light no longer works. As more water gets in over time i fear more of the lights will go out which could potentially cause an accident or electrical issues inside the tailgate. I have read that this is a very common issue with dodge durango's from 2014+ thru the present. Some owners have shared that as this issue worsens the lights flicker which could make other drivers think you are braking which again could cause a motor accident and even loss of life. Dodge has not addressed this issue and charges approximately $1,000 to fix when a better gasket and sealant around the light housing could fix the issue for a fraction of the price.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the rear exterior taillights failed to operate as designed. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact discovered corrosion on both taillight assemblies and on the rear license plate lights. The contact discovered that the failure was caused by excessive moisture build-up in the rear taillight assemblies. The contact initially called the local dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vin. The contact was then referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vin was not under recall. The contact was referred to the nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
Rear tail light (racetrack light) was improperly sealed and allows water runoff to collect inside bottom part of racetrack lighting. This causes the racetrack light to burnout and eventually stop working entirely. This is a hazard that if not fixed and tail lights go out while driving, could cause an accident and seriously injure people. This is the most common and worst issue with newer durango's and because of poor design unknown to purchaser, should not come out of pocket. Most dealerships are charging anywheres from $1000-$1300 to fix. A google search will show this issue with nearly every durango with 'racetrack' lighting and should be fixed before it causes accidents if it hasn't already. Please help us!
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the lift gate light was retaining moisture, which resulted in loss of the light. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was informed of failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under recall. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
Water pooling in tail light.
I have contacted fca (fiat chrysler of america) about the highly common issue with the tail lamp issue on my vehicle as well as many others having the exact same issue. In cold temperatures my center 'track bar' and passenger tail lamp don't turn on whatsoever including the led brake light or turn signal on the one side. When they do decide to work the bottom corners of the 'track bar' appear out and this is due to a highly common issue of the tail lamp assemblies being poorly sealed at the factory allowing water/moisture to make its way in causing the lights to fog up and eventually fail. This can be very easily looked into and verified on multiple forums, customers of the vehicle or even youtube videos addressing this. They need to issue a recall on this addressing this issue as i've been pulled over once due to this issue and almost rear ended at night due to the other driver being unable to see my vehicle with the lights out.
After any amount of rain etc. Water leaking into led racetrack lighting causing led to short out.water pooling in driver and passenger sides racetrack strip ... Defective part not sealed properly.
Front left blinker works intermittentlyexterior lights have water inside the lensesjust noticed a few months ago but could have been longer
Racetrack tail light leaks, trapping water inside and burning out the rear led light bulbs.very expensive part to replace (i've heard $1000.00) and based on some online searches, appears to be a very common problem.
The led back tail lights are not properly sealed, so water can leak into them and short out the lights, and cause electrical shortage.have tried to work with the dealership, and the chrysler corp., but since the vehicle is a 2015 model it is out of warranty. I feel this was a bad seal right out of the factory.
My rear tail light has water in it. Told dealership at 36k oil change and they said yes it happens all the time just put a hole in it to allow it to leak out. I said no that isnt what yoir supposed to do and they told me dodge will not cover it.
2015 durango sxt - water pools in the center tail lamp led and shorts it out, making it fail. Replacement is $700+ due to demand. This is a well know and common occurrence
Water is filling inside the rear tracklight and taillight.
Water and moisture get into the rear light strip and causes led light failure. You cant fix the problem, just buy a new light assembly at $1000 and pray that doesnt get water in that one. Problem causes vehicle to fail inspection and poses a huge safety problem.
Seals around the rear liftgate racetrack lighting have allowed water to enter making the lights fail. This causes a safety issue by having the racetrack lights to fail.
First my driver side headlight went out. Replaced the bulb an it still does not work. It not the fuse or connector either. Then my passager side taillight an my lift gate light do not work. Bought new taillight an plugged it in an still not working. It's not the fuse or connector so i don't know what else to do.
Moisture in the rear center tail light caused part of the lights to go out and could cause the entire system to fail, which in turn cause a collision at night.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tail light assembly was filled with water. The contact also mentioned that the bulbs were burned out. The vehicle was taken to jim butler chrysler dodge jeep ram (317 w main st, building b, linn, mo 65051, (573) 298-4377) where the contact was informed that the tail lights needed to be replaced and were not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Rear tail panel of led strips is out at all times, causing a safety concern. Started with lower right side of ribbon light out, now the entire strip is out, including the required tag lights. Started when i only had about 60k miles on it. Contacted dodge dealership and they state they're aware of the problem but it will cost at least 1k just for the part, not including labor.
Rear tailgate led light and plate lights shorted out and are non functional due to water leaking into light assembly from bad sealing process.
Noted reoccurring problem with liftgate tail light. Liftgate taillight will all eat water into the light itself and therefore burned out. Problem occurs on both sides as well. Picture only shows one side.
Durango lift gate racetrack taillight is out, entire tail light is blown and brake is not functioning on it nor license plate light.
Exterior tail lights and bar collect water which burns out the leds.no way to replace individual led need to replace the bar which is over $1000.00.is a night time hazard since the lights are burnt out and progressively getting worse.started as small black spot in bottom corner and is now spreading. Spoke to dodge and it's not covered! started when car had less then 40k miles on it.
Water is pooling in my track lighting. I have to take the bolts out to empty it. Now the lights are failing!!!
The middle section of my rear "race track led" taillight went out after only having the car for 3 years. There is water in the housing for the light. I have never been rear ended or is there any visible cracks. From what i'm finding on the internet this seems to be a major problem that is affecting many durango owners.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the rear driver's and passenger's side brake lamps failed to illuminate intermittently and without warning. That contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that water was inside the rear brake lamps casing. The vehicle was taken to fitzgerald chevrolet of hagerstown (101 s. Edgewood dr, hagerstown, md 21740, (301)733-5000) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the door latch assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. On several occasions, while driving, the rear tail lights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to reed chrysler dodge jeep ram (3100 s us-169, st joseph, mo 64503, (816) 233-9149) where it was diagnosed that there was moisture in the tail lights; however, the mechanic was unable to find a fracture in the tail light fixtures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that the tail lights failed to remain illuminated. The dealer (napleton's arlington heights chrysler dodge jeep ram, 1155 w dundee rd, arlington heights, il 60004, 847-660-7605) was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were not available.
Fuel spits out when filling the gas tank up, it doesn't know when the tank is full.
Gas continues to pump after the tank is full and spill out and all down the side of the durango until i shut it off. The handles doesn't always click off on its own.service air bag sensor keeps coming on and off. Dealer doesn't know anything about either problem.
Vehicle was being filled when at gasoline starting pouring from in front of the left rear wheel.the problem ceased when the fuel tank level reached 3/4.the dealer advised that the problem was due to the fuel filler neck becoming separated and the failure of the clamps.the dealer replaced the fuel filler tube p/n 68243686ag.
Evap system is showing leak and i have noticed other recalls over the years for this same incident but not yet for year 2015. Showing lose charcoal in system is what they other recall show. This happened prior to 100,000 miles and dodge stated it was not covered by power train warranty.
Engine begins to make a noise and the car won't accelerate, lights warning to brake start flashing when there is no reason to break
Check engine light will not go off. Had the vehicle checked three times with smoke test and shows no leaks. The computer shows a leak in the fuel line and clears the check engine light but comes back on a couple days.
Whenever i pump gas recently the gas pump never shuts off and just spills gas everywhere until i click the handle.i took it to the dealer and they said they never heard of that.i went ahead and had them check it out.about $2000 later and a new gas tank and fuel filler neck the problem was solved.how this was never recalled i don't know.i had gas pouring out everywhere before it was fixed!
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving 90 mph, the contact smelled fuel fumes entering the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to autonation chrysler dodge jeep ram spring (located at 21027 i-45, spring, tx 77388, (281) 715-6927), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 68,000.
Vehicle lost all engine power and left my family on the side of the busy interstate, hundreds of miles from home.the dealer later diagnosed it as a fuel pump failure.this was with the hemi v8 engine.
Check engine light on, due to evaporative emission system leak.had vehicle in once a month for repairs, but problem still persists.replaced fuel filler tube, as well as other parts involved.vehicle isn't a year old yet, and still under factory warranty.
Car will try to start but won't turn all the way over. It does it intermittently. I've taken it to mark dodge and 2 other auto shops and no one can find the issue. It has done it over 15 times now
Check engine light is coming on for evap problem.i don't have a gas cap.the dealership supposedly fixed the issue, 1 week later...it's on again. Seat inside packing is no longer in place.driving over bumps sounds like the suspension is broke.

Had pulled car into garage and thought car was in park.had not turned rotary shifter all the way to park, so car was in reverse.started to exit the vehicle and removed foot from brake and car started pulling backward.i jumped back into car and applied brake just as car door, which was ajar, struck garage framing, badly damaging door.if i had not been able to get back into the car i may have been killed because there was nowhere to move in the garage.chrysler should automatically put these rotary shifter cars into park if vehicle is stopped and car door is opened.
While my durango was in the shop for complaints of flare shifting and other shifting issues mechanic placed the durango in park and exited the vehicle leaving it running.at that time it was not in motion.it subsequently drove into his toolbox damaging the front bumper and hood. The mechanic insists he did nothing wrong and it just happened.the vehicle was in a dealership garage.there is no police report because the dealership immediately sent the vehicle to a body shop.i contacted the police and they told me if they dealership made repairs a report wouldn't be necessary.
I have expected unintended roll away on two occasions. The truck was running and put in parkand as i exited the vehicle it rolled forward. The first time it hit a parked car, in a parking lot, no damage resulted. The second time was in the driveway, i manged to stop it with out incident. This durango is equipped with the electronic rotary shifter.
I read an article in usa today that the nhtsais investigating vehicle transmissions that use a rotary control.about a year ago, i pulled into the driveway, shifted into park and exited the vehicle.as i was walking down the driveway i turned around and saw my car backing up into the street and across the road where it struck a block wall. I was sure that i must have not fully turned the knob to the park position but now, having read this article i am wondering if in fact there is a defect.i had not engaged the parking brake and the vehicle was still running when the incident occurred.
This vehicle has rolled back while in park at least 4 times now.yesterday being the most severe as i was standing behind the vehicle when unloading groceries in my driveway.the vehicle rolled back over me injuring my leg.luckily my kids were not behind the vehicle or it could have been really dangerous.i know longer feel safe with this vehicle.it was purchased used through carmax.
Car placed in reverse, backup camera came on and car went forward instead of backwards when gas applied. Car made funny sound. No damge occured and car was checked out by dealer. There has been no repeat events.
Put vehicle in park in our inclined driveway to run into the house for something i forgot.left it running and stationary with my daughter in the back.as i got to the door i heard my daughter screaming and looked back to see the vehicle rolling down the driveway. Was able to run back and stop it, but it was a very dangerous situation as it would have continued to roll into the street if i hadn't heard her or if i had already been in the house.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While the vehicle was placed in park, it rolled over the contact's left foot without warning. The contact was injured, but did not require medical attention. Vehicle will drive away unattended if you forget to turn the "transmission dial"..... When the car is in drive and you stop and press the ignition button (thinking you are putting the car in park and/or turning it off, and then get out of the car, the car remains in drive and will drive away.when you press the button, the car makes a ringing sound and both me and my wife and thought the car was in park.when i got out of the car, because i forgot to turn the transmission dial to park, the car began to roll away with my wife and children still in the vehicle.unlike all other cars i have had that had electronic transmissions which put the car in park if you turn them off and/or open the door when the car is not moving, the during will simply drive off in the direction its is aimed.this car needs to put itself into park in these situations.i have a bmw that will not/cannot drive away like this.it is extremely dangerous!!!!i asked the dealer if there was a way to stop this and i was told they are aware of a similar problem on the jeep grand cherokee.however, i am told there is no re-programming fix yet.someone is going to be killed by this defect eventually.
Chronic intermittant problem with transmission failing to go in correct gear. When going from park to drive or reverse the vehicle stays in the last gear. I have had to turn off vehicle and wait 15 seconds to reset power train module. While driving the gear knob light starts flashing. The vehicle was showing drive but it was still in reverse and went backwards. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer three times to have the power train module to be re-programed. The power train module has subject to recall at least twice!
Transmission will not shift to any gear.seat belt on doors all closed ,only had one code related last year shift module u0002-88, sent to dealer ,said no codes,i never erased codes, this has been to dealership so many times i dont know how many, said its customer error. Bull (@#$%).if chrysler cant fix it,they should buy this junk back.
I was backing a small trailer into its storage location in my yard.i was on a slight downward incline with chocks aligned with the trailer wheels.it was evening and dark out.as i approached the chocks, i placed the car in park.i know because the rear reverse lights went out.the engine was running.i got out to see how far i needed to go back before reaching the chocks.when i exited the car it started going backward down the slight incline fast enough for the trailer wheels to go ever the chocks.i barely got back into the truck before being knock over by the open door.by the time i got to the brake pedal to stop, the truck door had struck the corner of a greenhouse, bending the metal greenhouse frame and forcing the driver door open too far causing hinge and body damage to the door and front left fender.luckily,, no one was hurt.the door now closes with difficulty.this was actually the second time this happened.the first was in the parking lot at my office when i pulled the car into a spot, put it in park and was getting out to run inside for an item that i had forgotten.the engine was running.as i was getting out of the car it began to move forward.i braked and shifted back to drive then to park again and made sure it wasn't moving before i got out.this first time i attributed it to me not turning the knob all the way to park, but now i believe it was the same defect.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,404.
Dodge durango recall u65/nhtsa 18v-332vehicle malfunction caused the vehicle (in motion, but slowing) to accelerate (leap forward) unexpectedly, causing an accident. This happened on a city street.
We were entering a highway from an on ramp and the car would not accelerate.we were almost hit from behind because of it.we took the car in to have it looked at and it is a faulty tipm "totally integrated power module".there were issues with previous years models of dodge durangos with the same issue and i believe that recall should extend to newer years.from what i researched:the tipm lawsuit alleges chrysler sold and leased model year 2011-2013 dodge durango and jeep grand cherokee suvs equipped with defective "totally integrated power modules, which allegedly cause a variety of electrical problems including non-starting, stalling and fuel pump problems.the plaintiffs claim dodge and jeep owners have spent a small fortune on unneeded repairs for batteries, fuel pumps and other car parts, all while the real trouble was caused by defective tipms.
Vehicle rollaway complaint. Put the vehicle in park. Exited the running vehicle, closed the door, and walked in front of the vehicle into the garage. The car began driving forward into the garage and slammed into the entryway of the home.
I started the vehicle with one foot still outside of the vehicle so the key fob could be detected and exited. As i exited the vehicle and took my right foot off the brake the car then engaged into drive and crashed into the woods. My right arm was slammed in the door and i hit my back on the side of the vehicle. Four of my small children were outside of the vehicle when this happened. There was a decent amount of damage to the vehicle. I took my vehicle to a local dealership where the problem was not duplicated and they could do nothing to rectify the problem. I am currently waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. I have received medical attention for my injuries and a police report has been filed. This a very dangerous issue that needs to be addressed.*dtupdated 10/15/18
Car did not engage into park on 3 occasions while running, i had to use the emergency brake to prevent the car from rolling. The first time this occured the car was in in park and it rolled into a house. The second time i was dropping my son off and i put the car into park and it started to roll backward. I then had to use the emergency brake. The same situation occur again two days later. The vehicle was taken to the dealership immediatley after the first occurance and again after the second.i was told they couldnt recreate the the issue they did not fix any parts. The vehicle is in the shop now and they want me to drive the car with a recorder to see if it rolls again.

Lifters dealership said the warranty ended in february this yr. That's not fair my has 86000 miles on it.
Dodge durango u65/nhtsa 18v-332vehicle malfunction caused the vehicle (in motion, but slowing) to accelerate (leap forward) unexpectedly, causing an accident.this happened on a city street. This was the second accident with similar circumstances in this vehicle.after the first accident (6/28/18), we took the durango to the dodge dealership and were told nothing was wrong with the vehicle.the durango u65 recall notice arrived in the mail a few days after the second accident, and we immediately made an appointment at the dodge dealership for the fix.
~october 2017, i was parked in my driveway with my daughter in the rear seat; i was getting ready to exit my driveway when i realized my key fob was inside the house. I left the car to go get my key fob and left the door open; by the time i got to my back door, my daughter was screaming (she was in her car seat) and the car was moving backward down the driveway, scraping against the house, into the street and across the road to the neighbor's house up their driveway. I ran after the vehicle and right before it struck my neighbor's garage, was able to throw my foot into the brake from the side while i fell on the ground. I was bruised and my car was damaged, but most importantly my daughter was fine but scared. I went to the dealership to have them take a look at the door/mirror and complained about the issue (this is referenced in the "action plan" for the visit), and the gentleman at the mike smith beaumont dealership stated that my vehicle must have had a quirk, because there was already an update available on that which they would test. When i came back to get my vehicle, i asked about the update, and he stated that he was mistaken; that only pickup trucks were getting that update. I asked why, because there's no less safety risk in a durango (in fact, probably more children). He did not have an answer but said he would get back to me. No one did, and i complained to dodge online. Eventually in august 2018 i got an oddly phrased notice that did not use the word recall but stated that "repairs" needed to be made. I wrote to dodge again and asked if they would assist with the original problems to my door/window but they would not.i am disappointed that dodge did not include durangos in this obviously existing technology and disappointed that it took a year to take any action (which does not help my repairs). I am very grateful we were not more badly injured.
The plastic sleeve above the seat belt tensioner on the front passenger seat has cracked, pinching the seat belt in turn and making the belt itself unable to retract.this prohibits the belt from being tensioned and unable to take in slack.the front passenger pillar loop overmolding has cracked.issue is too common!*** see many other examples of the same issue here: https://www.carproblemzoo.com/dodge/durango/seat-belt-problems.php
The front passenger pillar loop overmolding has cracked. It has cracked in such a manner that the webslot width has been reduced to a point where it pinches the webbing. The belt can be extracted for wearing, but the retractor spring cannot retractor the webbing. This creates a condition where the passenger can buckle up, and if they lean forward, they can inadvertently create slack in the belt system.this happened over the winter in michigan.
My durango was parked at the end of the day at approximately 5:15 pm, in a covered carport, and locked. When entering the next morning at approximately 8:00 am i noticed the passenger side front seat head rest looked odd. When looking at it closer, it looks as if the headrest separated. The 2 pieces are still connected but not compressed together as it should be. I called my husband out to look at it and he tried to compress it back together but it would not stay. This happened when the vehicle was unoccupied and not moving. I can not explain what happened because no one was there. It was discovered when i entered the next time.
I was driving down the road with my wife in the front passenger seat when i heard a loud bang, thinking something stuck the rear passenger side of the vehicle.there was nothing there, but i noticed that the active head restraint had deployed.fortunately, my wife was leaning forward at the time.i tried to reset, but the plastic brackets holding the steel pin were broken thus not allowing me to reset.
The head rest to the passenger front seat ejected. It's cushion is broken apart from what holds the component. While on park and the seat was empty.
Drivers side headrest has popped as if it was in an accident, but has not been in one. The headrest is pushed forward about 6-10 inches from it's normal resting position and cannot be retracted back. Vehicle was sitting in a driveway and not being driven at the time the failure happened.
While sitting parked in a parking spot and engine running the headrest deployed while my head was against it. There was no collision with any other vehicles or objects.it caused my head to fly forward at an accelerated rate causing neck pain and a massive headache. The noise when it deployed was extremely loud as if someone took a baseball bat to the back of the headrest. When looking inside afterwards there is broken pieces of plastic.*dt*dt *tp
My whiplash prevention headrest deployed without incident. Randomly deployed.
Upon entering vehicle, active head restraint device in passenger seat headrest deployed while my wife was in the seat. It hit her on the back of the head and left her with a headache and back pain.*dtconsumer stated wife's pain is still ongoing. Dealership was contacted and said they would replace the headrest at no additional cost.
While driving home from work, i heard a noise that sounded like someone hit my headrest with a bat. At the same time, my head was thrown forward, briefly causing me to take my eyes off the road and swerve slightly within my lane.. I was driving at approximately 55 mph, on a heavily traveled state road, alone in my car. I wasn't able to pull over right away. Once i could safely pull over, i noticed my driver side headrest did not look like my passenger side. It was separated and pushed forward into my seat space. There were also loose plastic pieces inside. I had neck pain for approximately 4 days following.*dtcontact did not seek medical help. Vehicle was not on the recall list and is not fixed.
I was on the highway one day and i took and exit to get home and right before i had to do a stop the headrest on the passenger side jumped out with out any crash or incident
Driver side headrest deployed hitting me as i was driving. Was on freeway felt like someone punched me in back of my head.
I was driving down the street and my headrest in my car popped and hit my daughter in the head.
Seat heats don't work properly when remote starts. Sometimes when you manually start they work. Back track light some how got water inside and now the whole track light is not working along with license plate light.
While driving, without contacting another vehicle, a loud pop happened and the passenger headrest 'shot' out. Upon review, the plastic parts holding back a metal pin had broke off allowing the active head restraint to 'engage.' happened on a level city street.
Vehicle was stationary in our garage.wife went to get into passenger side seat and headrest exploded.
The passenger sideheadrest popped off.stationary.
Whilst driving on the highway, with no warning, collision or incident involved, the front seat passenger headrest exploded open. I was never provided with an owners manual when i purchased the car (and had no idea i had active headrests), the passenger was shaken, but hopefully has no longer term injuries.the car only has 27,300 miles and i don't do a lot of driving. This was a real shock and i regard it as a significant safety hazard (i fear for the future, if it had happened on the driver side).looking at random feedback on the internet, it appears that chrysler-dodge dealerships appear to be placing the blame/cost onto the customer base and taking no responsibility, but i will take my car to the local dealership in riyadh (ks) and see if they will repair the headrest (without cost).
While driving in the city going 45mph the passengers headrest restraint system randomly exploded/activated, pushing my wife's neck drastically forward.this incident could of caused serious bodily injuries as my wife has a cervical laminectomy due to a spinal cord tumor. This random ejection of the headrest restraint could of ended badly.we took the vehicle to the dodge dealership where they determined that the plastic latch that holds the restraint in place was broken causing the restraint to activate. We were told that our extended warranty would not cover this manufacturer defect ( that's exactly what it is, a manufacturer defect) . We purchased the vehicle with only 10 miles on it and since the vehicle now has 43,000 miles on it the manufacturers warranty is expired. This issue is truly of great concern as it could cause serious injuries. I believe a recall should take place. This vehicle has never been in any type of accident nor any situation that would of caused and impact to brake this restraint system. I urge for this issue to be investigated as through my research i have come across many dodge durango owners thathave experienced similar issues with the random deployment of the headrest restraint system....updated 03/29/17
The passenger headrest deployed while driving in a parking lot. The headrest deployment is supposed to be a safety feature of the car to help avoid whiplash in case of an accident but it did it on its own without an accident. This is very concerning as if one of my children were in the seat, they would have been seriously injured.
Passenger side active head restraint (ahr) malfunctioned by unexpectedly deploying. Vehicle was not in motion and was not rear ended.
The active head restraint of the front passenger seat was deployed while the vehicle was parked overnight, due to the faulty plastic housing of the retaining pin. The pin just tore through the plastic while remaining in the latch itself. Looking through the internet i can see that this is not an isolated incident. Seems to be happening quite frequently to fca cars. Obviously there is a design flaw on the composition of the plastic used by fca for the housing, which weakens with time under the constant load of the heavy springs. Didn't seem to be able to find a recall for it though.this is a serious safety concern! i am now worried that the driver's side is next and i might actually be driving when it happens!!!
I was leaning against my driver seat to grab my son from out the backseat when the driver seat headrest popped open
Driver side headrest deployed without cause or warning. Occurred while vehicle was in motion.
I own a 2015 dodge durango and the passenger seat head rest exploded out of no where, we were parked at church on 12/20/20 at approximately 11 am
Active headrest deployed while driving, hitting me in the back of the head.tried to adjust headrest, but it seems to be stuck.
Active headrest suddenly engaged.headrest propelled forward.active headrest is now inactive.headrest is broken and open.
While stopped, the active head restraint ( driver side) deployed without cause or notice. There were no injuries, but my 9 month old granddaughter was in the vehicle. Needless to say this could have been bad if we were at highway speed,or in traffic. Inspection of the headrest shows locking pin support failure ( broken plastic).
I had just parked the vehicle and was getting my kid out of his car seat when the headrest just exploded. There was no collision or near a rear collision.
The headrest deployed out of nowhere.
The passenger side head rest active restraint system automatically deployed.plastic appears to be broken and will not reset.happened while driving.
Passenger side active headrest advanced while driving on the interstate. Solenoid did not release but the plastic that holds the "pin" broke allowing advance. Seat was empty, no injuries.
My 2015 durango doesn't get used much now a days. The driver said head restraint deployed with out an accident. I've looked this up and it seems to be an issue with chrysler. Dealership is charging me a lot of money to get it fixed.
Driver's active headrest popped while driving down a smooth, paved road at approximately 30 mph. The loud noise and jolting of the seat almost caused an accident.
The headrest popped open while i was sitting in the drivers seat. I had just stopped the vehicle and the engine was still running. As i was sitting the headrest popped open on its own.
The driver side headreast randomly deployed.
The active headrest system on the passenger seat of my 2015 dodge durango citadel deployed randomly, not associated with any accident.vehicle was stationary and not running at time of deployment.appears that a plastic bracket that holds the headrest in place is broken, so reset is not possible.this appears to be a malfunction of the system.
Vehicle was in park. Got into vehicle while it was unattended for several hours over night. Passenger headrest was deployed.
Check engine light is coming on for evap problem.i don't have a gas cap.the dealership supposedly fixed the issue, 1 week later...it's on again. Seat inside packing is no longer in place.driving over bumps sounds like the suspension is broke.
Passenger head rest was deployed overnight while the vehicle was parked.
2015 dodge durango.the active head restraint in the front passenger seat deployed while the vehicle was parked in a private parking lot and unoccupied.searching the internet this seems to be a common problem.i am now concerned the passenger side is probably next.
While driving the driver side headrest deployed without any warning
Headrest safety system failed due to parts failure. Headrest safety system deployed during normal operation on motor vehicle. The vehicle was not involved in an motor vehicle accident. The headrest deployed on it's own. *dtconsumer stated daughter hit in the back of her head when headrest system deployed. Updated 12/13/18*dtheadrest was replaced by the dealer.
I have a brand new dodge durango that is only a couple months old. I do not even use my back seats to sit in so i know this was not caused from wear. On the passengers side back seat you can see the foam hanging out of the seat, the seat cover does not attach to the seat it is an open area. I took my durango to the local dodge dealership and they said they would fix since my durango is under warranty. They ordered me a new seat cover and they new one was worse than the first one that was on the car, they then told me this is a design flaw and they could not help me, they offered to cut out some of the foam so it would not hang out of my seat, but you can still see the inside of the seat. I am extremely upset, i paid $40,000 for this automobile and have to live with seeing the inside of my seat foam hanging out of my backseat. It is located on the inner part near wear the seatbelt buckle connects. I need help, i feel like i have been taken advantage of.
While driving i pulled over and my wife and i exited the vehicle to check on our two crying toddlers, when my wife excited the passenger side of the vehicle a loud bang occurred and the headrest ejected forward. I asked my wife if she had touched the head rest and stated she did not. We researched this issue and it's a safety mechanism designed for rear impact collisions to prevent whiplash. We were not in an accident, we were driving and pulled over. We pulled over on surface steers. No impact to the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the dealership this morning and they are looking into the issue. I feel from conducting research that the dealership will not repair this safety mechanism.
The front passenger headrest active head restraint safety device deployed without warning during normal driving. There was no impact, etc. , that would cause the device to deploy. The device errantly deployed. Had a passenger been in the vehicle this could have resulted in serious injury. The vehicle was not in motion. Through online research, i noted that this seems to be a common issue. But i do not see a recall on it.
The drivers side active headrest deployed while i was driving without an accident occurring. I was driving along a smooth road when i heard a pop and was hit in the back of the head by the headrest popping forward.
I was coming back from lunch with my wife and kids when all of the sudden the passenger headset deployed without warning on my 2015 dodge durango pushing my wife's head forward. The vehicle has no waring or emergency lights on in the dash board. We are terrified for this to occur while on our daily commute's to work or school drop offs and pick ups, we don't want to have an accident or create one in any manner. Not sure how to proceed due to the fact that there is not recall on this and i really don't have the money to pay the dealership for the this. Since i don't have extended warranty the problem is not covered and the dealership wants to charge me 1,000 to 1,200 to fix and change out part.
The front passenger's seat active head restraint deployed without cause.there was no sudden braking or bump in road to cause the head restraint to believe there was an accident.thankfully there was no one in seat, or could have caused injury.possible accident can happen if were to happen to driver's side.
We were driving our 2015 dodge durango and we came to a stop sign. When we pulled away from the stop sign and the vehicle was in motion the safety assist headrest on the passenger side fired off without warning striking me in the back of the head. I ended up in the er and getting a ct scan and was diagnosed with a concussion.
I made a complaint on saturday but did not attach photographs. While we were driving our 2015 dodger durango i needed to pull over to check on my children. I was not in any traffic accident as i was driving the posted speed limit of 35 on the street. When my wife and i exited the vehicle the passenger headrest deployed. Scared and unsure what happened, i asked my wife if she had touched or pulled the headrest. She stated they she did not. We were not aware nor informed at the time of purchase that this vehicle has a safety feature that deploys the head rest in a rear and collision. I began researching this issue online and found that this has been occurring for several years. With some cases leading to injury and litigation. Scared, i took it the following morning to the dealership on which we purchased the vehicle. They held it for the day, inspected the vehicle, ran diagnostics. The end result was that my extended warranty did not cover a defective safety feature head rest. Now i have to pay $970.00 dollars to repair or drive the vehicle without this safety feature. I am currently calling fca the parent company for dodge to address this issue.
Was driving and had to brake suddenly and the drivers headrest deployed (active headrest) but there was no rear collision or any collision for that matter.my head never touched the headrest.just heard a pop and the spring loaded headrest popped forward and will not reset.contacted the dealership and it is going to cost approximately $800 to fix the headrest.
While driving to work this morning, i was suddenly hit so hard in the back of the head, my face almost hit the steering wheel. The hit to my head caused me to swerve almost hitting two cars in the lane next to me. I thought i had just been in a car accident! once it was safe for me to pull over i saw that the driver side headrest deployed. There were no signs or warnings this was about to happen and we have never had problems with the seats. I have not taken it to the dealer or had the seat inspected by anyone as it just happened this morning.the consumer stated dodge dealership, who informed them that warranty is extended for the headrest until 2026. The part is being ordered and consumer is currently waiting for the part.
The active head restraints (ahr) on the driver side deployed during driving on the highway within legal speed limits without any reason, i.e. Not accident or impact from any side to the vehicle. Luckily the driver was not hurt due to distance to the head rest at that very moment. The snapping luckily also did not cause too much distraction. The head rest is now destroyed, i.e. Split in half and dangling due to the plastic fixtures holding the two halves together on the top being broken. The incident happened already in september 2019. Until now i was not aware of the issue. Only after trying to buy a replacement part, i became aware of this being a more frequent issue with dodge (fca) owners. When re-examining the head rest i realized that the springs must have had deployed to cause that kind of visible destruction.at the last service the dealership first did not really notice this issue despite performing a full check. When telling them to fix it, they refused to replace it free of charge. They claimed that fca is not recognizing this to be a safety/field issue. So now i realize that there is a safety issue with the head rest and we were just lucky not to be hurt by the active head rest deploying. But now we are also left with 500 us$ repairs.*dt
Front passenger seat headrest deployed. No one in seat front passenger seat. Rear facing carseat behind it.headrest will not compress back to original function.
Went into a store, no other cars around me. Came back out of store, noticed the active headrest system on passenger side deployed. No damage or apparent damage to vehicle, still empty parking lot.
While driving down the highway, the headrest deployed while my son was sitting in the seat. He was not doing anything other than sitting there. The sound about made me get in an accident.
While sitting parked in a parking spot and engine running the headrest deployed while my head was against it. There was no collision with any other vehicles or objects.it caused my head to fly forward at an accelerated rate causing neck pain and a massive headache. The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the front driverā€™s seat headrest erroneously deployed causing a slight headache to the driver. No medical treatment was required. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000. The vinn was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While decelrating at 15 mph to park the vehicle in a parking lot, the brakes seized without warning. The contact caused the contact to crash into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The front bumper of the contact's vehicle was damaged. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The contact's insurance company started a claim for the vehicle to be repaired. The cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 184,000.*dt
My vehicle is unstable when i drive at any distance or speed on the road. I had a recall for the calipers but i do not believe that the issue was fixed. I began having problems after the recall was corrected. I notice that my vehicle would pull to the right side. I took the vehicle to get an alignment but that did not solve the problem. The vehicle is also experiencing wobbling in the rear. I also notice that when i am making turns or lane changes, the vehicle will still pull to the right side. When making stops at the light or stop signs, the vehicle pulls to the right. The brakes and rotorshave been change recently and a new alignment was performed but the car still has the same issue.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v168000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Engine begins to make a noise and the car won't accelerate, lights warning to brake start flashing when there is no reason to break
Bought a 2015 durango in may 2015 have had it 45days and it has been in the service dept at the dealership more than with me. It started with a fuel sensor, then the sunroof wouldn't close, it fried the usb port, the air bag warning light keeps going on & off while driving, now the seat nor steering wheel will move at all or if you does move by some miracle the seat decides to reposition itself while you are driving.
After snow storm, 45mph, entering highway and speeding up to join traffic, the vehicle started to shack and almost caused an accident temporary loss of control.
Dealership will not call back or answer phone to repair recall p60 and p64all american chrysler jeep dodge of midland, texas
My real racetrack light shut down because of the water inside of it.
Water is pooling in my track lighting. I have to take the bolts out to empty it. Now the lights are failing!!!
Front left blinker works intermittentlyexterior lights have water inside the lensesjust noticed a few months ago but could have been longer
Racetrack light in back of durango has water in it. Part of led light panelis now out after a good rain.
In my driveway put car into park and opened the door to get out and go close the garage door from inside the garage. Car was in park and stationary. Started walking to the garage and noticed car started moving forward. Opened the door and jumped in the car to stop it. Did not get into car in time and car ran into the garage with the front driver side of car. Car has scratches, dents, and paint chipping and peeling. From hitting garage. Garage was pushed back at impact site by about 2 or 3 inches.
Fuel door will not open depressing door switch interiorly or emergency release switch in cargo compartment.fuel door had to be pried open order to refill gas tank.
Water in the tail light eventually burned out the lower left hand side, looks to be faulty sealant
Electronic fuel door was constantly getting stuck and would not open unless the inside button was pushed multiple times.when i went to get gas, the plastic door popped off so the metal hinge is now visible and is an eyesore.this is a major safety issue.
The tail gate tail light gets water inside every time i was my car or every time it rains. This causes the tail light not to be fully visible.
Standing water in tail light assembly. Will eventually affect tail light operation as well as license plate.
I was parked in my driveway on a slight decline and the vehicle was running and in park and i ran into the house to grab something and when i looked back it was rolling down the driveway and crashed and got stuck in between two trees. The vehicle is now totaled.
I was at the lift gate close to the lights. The edge of the light cut me really bad. This was not the first time.
I have water/condensation in my rear light panel. I have no cracks/holes in this panel.
Fuel door will not open, when it is open it seems loose.
Fuel door has a tendency not to pop open when you hit the release button inside of vehicle. This can be a safety hazard if you need gas and cannot get the gas door open and there is no manual override to open it.
While driving my 2015 dodge durango i noticed a rattling noise coming from the driver's side rear wheel well. This would happen whenever encountering even the smallest imperfections in the road. This was also accompanied by a feeling of the rear end of the car not feeling intact with the rest of the vehicle. At highway speeds if a pothole or any uneven section of road was driven over this disconnected feeling was magnified. It felt as if the vehicle would lose control at times due to this action. The vehicle was taken to a local dodge dealer where they diagnosed the rear strut was leaking, they were unable to fix this issue due to this part being back ordered. The parts department said that they were unable to determine when the parts would come in due to the incredibly high order volume. This leads me to believe that there is a material defect in all struts used in similar chrysler, dodge, jeep, and ram vehicles.

Constant suspension noise while driving over small bumps or smooth surfaces coming from rear load leveling suspension and front suspension.occasional instability while towing.
Rear shock mounts are defective. I assume this to be a design flaw. This results in poor tire wear as the upper part of the shock "wiggles" in the mount. This also affects the drivability and reaction of the vehicle while taking defensive driving actions. Dodge is aware of this issue as you can no longer buy this mount and you have to buy the entire shock with mount attached. This issue was discovered upon changing the shocks. This has been the clunking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when going over small bump in the terrain.
The passenger side tail light collects water.this is the 3rd light assembly that has been replaced and it now has water in it.research online shows this is a widespread issue with 2014+ dodge vehicles.
I was driving my new durango (3,200 miles) on i-90 (75mph) when the sunroof exploded.the sunroof was closed at the time and the hard shell was pushed back. The temperature outside was 48 and cloudy.i thought the the whole right side of my car would be gone when it happened as the explosion was so loud.i had very little glass in the car as most of it blew up and back scratching the top.my right ear and temple bothered me for about 6 hours after the explosion.i have taken the durango to the local dodge dealer and am currently waiting to see if they will fix it.they claim never to have seen this before, i doubt i'm the first.
The clutch pedal sticks to the floor. Happened while driving. Can't accelate or change gears. No noise or smell or warning prior to this happening. Pedal can only be manually lifted. No pressure in clutch pedal anymore.
Dodge durango water in taillights causes waterlog in the led lighting area and not draining led out on the left side of vehicle. Replacing item cost around $1085.00 and up manufacturing design defect. Vehicle has 31954 miles on it.
The vehicle back up camera goes out and then the entire radio screengoes out and does not come up for days. This happens when the vehicle is in reverse and the screen goes out while driving.
Rented car, drove expressway about 25 miles when on a mild incline i noticed the car was not accelerating. The radio was still playing, no warning lights displayed, speedometer dropped quickly from 65mph to 10mph and no response when accelerator was depressed even all the way to the floor. The car was still in drive mode and emergency flashers worked. Traffic was heavy with semi trucks which nearly collided with car as there were no emergency lanes to move to. After about a minute or two the accelerator worked again. In the next 75 miles to a city with same rental company it occured 3-4 more times. It was a very dangerous situation and i feel lucky to have survived the nerve racking drive. The rental company has the car and "is looking into the problem" and checking the gas from speedway thatwas used to fill the 1/2 tank prior to driving. They say there are no recalls but i see where previous years of this model have had that problem and obviously has not yet been adequately repaired still presenting a major safety issue
Was at a red-light when the driver side headrest deployed. Got hit forcefully in the back of the head.*dtconsumer had a neck sore. Vehicle was taken to dealer and consumer was told it could not be repaired. Case number was given.
Active head restraint on drivers side deployed while parked.visual inspection shows broken plastic internal parts and will not reset when compressed.
Not so!!
Our 2015 durango limited makes a thumping noise, sounds like an impact in the rear of the vehicle. The dealership has not been able to diagnose the problem, and cant duplicate it. My wife has heard this noise since we purchased this vehicle. We have owned 3 other durangos with the same body style and have never heard the same sound.
Vehicle was in park position on a side road.it was still running since we weren't going to remain parked there except for a few minutes.i was taking pictures of my son before his band concert near the school where the vehicle was parked.it remained stationary/parked for up to 4 minutes at which point in time it started rolling down the inclined road unattended.have no idea what part of the care malfunctioned to switch it out of park.so unkown.
Premature wear on tail housing seal gasket. Water leaks in when it rains and fills the tail light. Water then affects the led when then flickers before it kills the led.
Passenger head restraints deployed while car was parked in driveway
Vehicle will turn over but will not start. Dealer claims battery issue, but most individuals discovered that it is a fuel pump relay issue. 2nd time this has happened with same vehicle.
Spontaneous active head restraint deployment, passenger side, while parked. No collision occurred. Drivers side headrest also deployed spontaneously while parked in closed garage.
While driving my drivers side headrest popped open and hit me in the head.
Passenger headrest came apart. A piece broke inside and caused the headrest to separate. Vehicle was not moving at the time of separation, it was parked in the driveway.
Water is in the racetrack tail light on both sides, i noticed the sound of water moving while driving, and its water in my tail light. The light are out at the bottom because of this
Getting in the passenger seat the head rest poped out. While the car was in park and no accident. Now i am scared the drivers headrest will do the same while i am driving.
When driving vehicle rear clunking noise on driver side is present over small or moderate bumps. Noise is becoming worse over time and dealer has no explanation. Sound is becoming more concerning and worried about my safety in the vehicle
Water and condensation on the tail lights
The rear windshield exploded. On 02.05.2018 i used the remote starter to start the car at approximately 6:15 am. The temperature at the time was approximately 25 degrees farenheit in new jersey.as part of remote start the heat and rear windshield are automatically turned on below a certain temperature. I entered the car at approximately 6:22 am and after driving for about 3/4 mile there was a loud explosion. Part of the glass had shattered as well as glass around the perimeter of the rear.
Stationary - whenever someone exits the vehicle, it would continuously beep and display a message saying key fob not detected- but it's sitting in the cup holder. There have been several occasions when i'm stopped at a streetlight and the car would shut off.dodge has noted the problem, but could not find anything wrong.ongoing since 2015.
The 2015 durango that we purchased came with headrests that "deploy" in the event of an accident (ideally). Both the driver and passenger side headrests have deployed even though the vehicle has never been in a collision. It is unclear when they deployed. It is as though the clips holding them together internally just gave out.
Dodge durango recall u65/nhtsa 18v-332vehicle malfunction caused the vehicle (in motion, but slowing) to accelerate (leap forward) unexpectedly, causing an accident. This happened on a city street.
When cruise control engaged going down hill the vehicle will exceed setting from 10 to 25+ mph over the setting. Appears to be approximately 6 mph increase on a 1-2% grade and addition 3mph for each additional 1% increase in grade
The contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While the vehicle was in the park position, the driver pressed the start/stop button to shut off the engine. While exiting the vehicle, it erroneously accelerated in reverse up an incline at approximately 5-10 mph. The vehicle drove into a busy street and stopped after bumping a curb. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,404.
Engine begins to make a noise and the car won't accelerate, lights warning to brake start flashing when there is no reason to break
On 1/19/2019, i went to brake while driving my dodge durango, and the car violently shook, made a revving noise, and accelerated. My foot was to the floor and the car would not stop. I hit two cars in front of me, which was the only way the car actually stopped moving, and it wasn't until i turned the car completely off that the noise and shaking stopped.a case was opened with fiat chrysler corporate office the date of the accident. A 3rd party company was hired to investigate the vehicle and pull date off of the electronic data record. That report was forwarded to fca for review on 1/26/2019.to date, no one from fca has contacted me regarding the status of my case. I call daily only to be told i will receive a phone call from someone, which has yet to happen. No name, number, or contact information has been given to me. I was told a letter was mailed out to me from the legal department with fca on 2/6/2019. To date, no letter has arrived, and when i asked corporate for information on who sent the letter, i am not provided a name or number of anyone i can verbally speak with.i was also told several voicemail messages have been left for me, but when the representative went to confirm my phone number, they admitted they had no phone number on file for me - so how could a voicemail message be left?this accident occurred in front of an elementary school, during school drop off. The outcome could have been much worse, and the fact that no one from a large corporation is communicating with me is appalling.i have a vehicle that is un-drivable, and i am still paying a monthly payment, even though i cannot drive the car. I need information on the status of my case, and no one is providing it to me.
I started to proceed down the street and the accelerator appeared to stick and the engine started racing and i did not have any control of the vehicle speed.also the rpm gauge was out of control.this last approximately five to ten seconds, and then the engine stopped racing, and returned to normal.the vehicle was in motion and going forward on a city street when the accelerator appeard to stick and the vehicle increased in speed, and i had not control over the speed of the vehicle.

The tail gate tail light gets water inside every time i was my car or every time it rains. This causes the tail light not to be fully visible.
27,300 miles and i have water pooling inside my led tracks of my tail lights. This is potentially going to cause the lights to short out and possibly blow fuses. This needs to be remedied by manufacturer being this is a very common issue
The sunroof glass on our 2015 durango exploded outward without warning. The environmental factor was normal, driving condition was normal. The vehicle was in motion on a highway but no other vehicle or external objects were involved.
While driving at highway speed without warning multiple error messages were displayed followed by instrument cluster shutting off completely.windshield wipers started without command.turn signals and lights would not work.functions slowly started to return however traction control remained disabled.
