Takata recall- i have contacted all dodge dealerships in my area for repair, and no one will return my calls to help rectify the recall. I have left voicemails and been re-routed to automated systems for over 3 months.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact drove over a pothole and the vehicle veered off the road. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not evaluated by the insurance company and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

Going west on hwy 20 blew left front tire took me into a tree. Hit it just left of center broke front bumper in half, pushed frontend into engine block. It was repaired. I had cruise control on doing 65 and driving at night around 9pm. I do not remember hitting the tree and was not injured accept for the memory of it. The body shop told me they would not deploy due to the placement of the sensors. In doing research on this people have t-boned another car at speeds well above the 25 mph dodge says it takes to have airbags deploy, and there's did not go off. Really. How do we hold the automakers liable for something like this. Class actions only get the lawyers rich.

Takata recall over the last year i have begin seeing a lot of rust spots on several parts of the hood, body and back of my vehicle. I have had used vehicles of diffrent brand that paint held up but, my vehicle is white and this is very noticeable. Lack of using the correct rust treatment in the paint by manufacture clearly could is the problem and should be addressed and looked into. The use of short cuts and cheap product is unfair to the thousands that i've pad out.takata recall, clearly i have been waiting over as year to have my air bags replaced. The fact is they don't have any to do the replacement. How much since does it make to do one and not both at once. Instead they want to cause hardship to mje and keep my vehicle without a rental and then inconviuence me to come back to have the other replaced. What happens if this air bag kills me or me ad my passenger then what!!!!!!!

While driving all electrical and engine, steering shut down with no notice....no lights or steering while in the dark will get me killed

On several occasions i have had the ignition key stick in the starting position while i was attempting to start the car. This happened as i let go of the key after turning it to the start position.the key can be manually turned back to the off or run position. This has sometimes resulted in a successful engine start and at other times i have caught it before the engine started.i believe chrysler has issued recalls for this on other models or years, but not for this car.

Have not been contacted about replacing the passenger air bag and the is on forthe air bag.

Takata recall, every thing electrical does not function on my vehicle. I have to disconnect the window it rolls down on it's own. My drivers side brake light does not work or license number tail light does not work when in drive. This has been an on going problem with me being stopped by state troopers while driving on the highway or city/ county police on a local road. Not using a signal while making a left turn is a violation. Not having break lights functioning when at a stop is also a violation. The problem is in the faulty wires and is a safety issue. This has been a recall but, not for the 2008 dodge durango slt v8 4.7lt.takata recall. The rear windshield wiper engine is bad and should had a recall due to the faulty wiper engine. Safety hazard.

Failure to repair vehicle/ safety recall notice g28 ignition/park shift interlock defective / phoned dealer, said they would have to order part and get back to me , never called back, i re-called, said part wasn't in and later emailed, no response, been over two months -

2008 dodge durango was parked at 11:30 pm.at 3:00 am engine fire occurred and car was total loss.fire started behind drivers headlamp area.fire dept and chryslers independent investigators could not determine how it started but did determine no arson was involved.therefore car ignited on its own.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that after being parked overnight, it appeared that the vehicle had been involved in a thermal event. The dashboard was melted and half of the driver's seat and steering wheel was burned along with other extensive damage. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnosis where the failure could not be diagnosed and the contact was assured it was not due to a defect. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure and current mileage was 80,000. Updated 3/27/13

My car started smoking from under the hood and coming through the vents . It over heated . So then i opened up the hood and smoke with you coming out a bit crazy then something food from the engine like to hit me in the face but i do. It broke my dipstick oil stick the piece off. Now my car is running hot smoking and making a loud crazy noise sounds like it's going to blow up or something i don't know what to do help me please. My husband just recently passed so i'm on my own and i'm all by myself just me and my daughter so i don't know a lot about cars please help me

When and everytime vech. Is refueled, get blowback of fuel. During 1 trip, fuel ran back down outside of fill pipe and gas tank, and hit hot muffler, luckly it did not ignite. Can't fill gas tank more than half way, without this happening. Called dealer, service mgr. Took vin#, said wasn't cover under recall of any type, but will correct problem with new gas tank for aprox. $1000. Another problem that happen twice now, is elect. System goes out, loosing all power to steering and brakes, this happen twice. One time was while towing camper on interstate highway with traffic, we just barely got off road. Again dealership, said the recall for instrument and wiring couldn't and wouldn't cause car to just shut down as described. But they would be happy to replace the instrument cluster and correct any wiring problems, saying cost could be a few hundred or more. Have called chrysler 3 times, they taken info. Said someone would contact, never a call back. This car was purchased as a used car from a ford dealership, with only a little over 10,000. Miles in 2013, 5yrs old and only 2000 per year should of been a red flag, but was told a older gentleman had and ford dealer showed a carfax report that fit the mileage.

Whenever it gets moisture and usually cold, the dummy lights come on and we lose some of the functions such as cruise control, lights, abs etc. It has done it since being fairly new and would resolve itself after the weather changed and it "dried" up outside. Now the steering wheel clicks, the dummy lights no longer shut off, and the electronic stability control does not work. Was not notified of the air bag recall. I'm told it needs a clock spring also and it is right by the recalled part. We had to pay over $400 for the control panel but could not afford the clock spring. The clock spring with the electronic stability control is $1000 for just the part. It should have been recalled with the air bag because it is just as dangerous and this is the third dodge i have owned that this has happened too. The other 2 were 1999 dodge ram and a 1999 dodge caravan. The internet is crowded with people having the same problem with the clock spring

On november 24, 2017 car purchased frompinellas auto brokers, inc. Located at 4600 66th street north, st. Petersburg, florida. The next morning, november 25, 2017,car was taken for oil change and inspection. Was told the vehicle would need frame restoration and then apply for a salvage title after inspection, none of which was disclosed attime of purchase.salesperson assured me that no vehicles come to the lot with any major damage, only minor issues. Per mechanic, not road worthy and is outside mechanical limits; not only a danger to the passengers, but other drivers as well and unsafe to drive. I do not feel safe driving in this car with my 2 children (ages 3 & 6). My mother paid for the car via debit card. Would like to know what recourse i have for selling an unsafe vehicle.

Tamara recall. No longer have stable control of my 08 dodge durango. Airbag light is on aswell as esp abs traction light.

While pulling into a parking space at low speed while cranking the steering wheel, the engine just shut off.i had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the other cars.this has now happened twice.the dodge dealership couldn't find a problem and the message boards are full of people experiencing similar near-crashes.

My car started smoking from under the hood and coming through the vents . It over heated . Vehicle started to run very rough just after exiting the highway, warning lights came on, and almost immediately, the brakes became sluggish. Car was pulled into a parking spot just before it completely died. Attempts to restart the vehicle were unsuccessful. Mechanic inspection found that the vehicle overheated and caused the vehicle to lose power and brakes. The engine was damaged as well as the radiator, which split from overheating. Noise was found coming from the timing chains as well as the rocker arms. At least two cylinders had low compression. It was determined that the engine and radiator were damage to the point of needing replacement.

Dodge durango 2008 with hemi 5.7 l engine stalls at low speeds after i fill up the gas tank. This happens every time i fill up the tank now. I have read on consumer forums that other dodge trucks and car ownershave also reported this problem.it is dangerous, as the car stalls without any warning. This happens multiple times after fillup and after driving 20 miles or so the problem goes away. It is very dangerous as my car has stalled in busy intersections and while taking yield turns. The vehicle has also stalled while driving on highway after gas fillup and as i tried to slow down. When i reported to the dealer, they said it is not covered under warranty.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle hit a bump or rough patch of road, the traction control light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle had been to the dealer twice and they replaced the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 98,000 and the current mileage was 120,000.

After several weeks of diagnostics, it appears that the engine control module was operating inconsistently which caused excess gasoline to flow to the catalytic converters that eventually clogged the catalytic converters and caused a cylinder to blow.as a result, the ecm (a fairly inexpensive part) caused over $10,000 of damages to the vehicle.there could be a severe risk when the catalytic converters are clogged as they become so hot they will glow red and cause a fire if any flammable items are below such as leaves, for example.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. While driving at 35 mph, the air conditioner was activated but the air vents blew hot air. In addition, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from underneath the glove compartment. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times. The technician diagnosed that the evaporator coils and air conditioner line seals needed to be replaced. In addition, the dealer recharged the vehicle system with freon and stated that dye needed to be added to the system.the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent out a specialist multiple times to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 1,500. Ma 10/6updated 12/05/2017

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle, she noticed that her back-up camera was inoperative. 2008 dodge durango 4x4 slt w/5.7 engine... Gas blowback issue while filling the fuel tank.. Apparently this problem is check-valve related and can only be repaired by changing the tank. I also own a 2005 durango slt 5.7 and it had the same problem. The dealer finally honored the recall and fixed the problem. I am shocked to see the 2008 model still has this same dangerous issue. While dodge and the world know about this problem, they are ignoring the same problem with recent models and have not issued recalls. The proof and history is there.. Do we need families burned to death, flash fires at gas stations, eye damage from gushing gas, before a recall is deemed worthy? what are they waiting for? it is simply a continuation of a recall that has already been established with earlier model years and i am here to tell you that the problem persists. *ln

When filling up gas tank, automatic gas shut-off fails and gas tank overflows and spills onto the side of the truck. Presents a fire safety hazard. This occurs every time i attempt to fill the truck up completely. Truck has approximately 24,000 miles.

The gas tank began burping upon filling.once the auto cutoff clicks off, about 5-10 seconds later the tank burps a large puddle onto the ground that is well larger than my foot.apparently this is an ongoing issue that starts with a recall in 2005.i found this while researching how to repair the issue.the issues have transferred into 2007 durangos and now to my 2008.did dodge fail to accurately address the 2005 recall?this is unacceptable to have repeat failures in a design.this is also an environmental concern that i am inclined to report to the epa.maybe they will get dodge to take action.i have written this based on research without contacting dodge because apparently they did not do anything to help countless other people.my durango had 51,000 when it started failing.

When refueling, after pump shuts off, a large volume of fuel will spray out of the filler neck. This fuel flows down the side of the vehicle, sprays on the person standing near the pump and puddles on the ground. After driving off, the odor of the fuel is very strong in the vehicle. This has happened many times in the last 5 months, and now occurs every time the tank is filled.

I filled up gas tank on 2008 dodge durango using the auto lock on gas pump handle. When tank was filled and handle clicked gas began to spew out of the filler tube before i could remove gas pump handle. Total spillage was less than half a gal.

Beginning with the first time i filled the tank, when the fuel fuller nozzle is set to auto fill, when the filler clicks off, fuel gushes back out of the tank and down the side of the car and all over the ground. I was standing too close and my pants leg got soaked to the point that my skin burned from the presence of gasoline. [i'm glad that i quit smoking in 1984 now for an additional reason.] the next time i filled the tank, i watched the volume delivered and stopped the flow about two gallons before full and gently pumped the last amount in. When it was full, it burped out about a pint and a half anyway. This is a real safety hazard. I can't believe they recalled the 2005 for this issue and didn't fix the real problem! this problem needs to be addressed before someone bets burned.

On my 2008 durango, the "fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve" has stopped working.this is the same problem that dodge recalled some 2005 durangos for in 2009 (nhtsa campaign #09v003000)at each fill-up, no matter what gas station, when the tank is filled up, and immediately after the pump automatically shuts off - a large amount (1 gal or so) of gas literally "spews" from the gas tank for the next 5 to 10 seconds.this gas will spray the person pumping the gas, as well as the vehicle and surrounding area.this is a significant safety hazard, from multiple perspectives.dodge has claimed that the 2008 models are not covered under the same recall, but the same exact problem is present.therefore a new, expanded recall should be issued.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel spewed out of the filler neck valve. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000. ...update 01/20/12

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact was refueling the vehicle and when the fuel pump clicked to indicate the tank was full fuel began to spill out of the fuel tank. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was refueled.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the vehicle was in the process of having the fuel tank replaced. The failure mileage was 20,948 and the current mileage was 22,118.

I have a 2008 dodge durango with 28,000 miles on it.just recently when i fill the gas tank up and the gas handle clicks off meaning the tank is full, upon removing the handle gas erupts from the tank and pours all down the side of my durango. Nothing has been done yet, but i know there are many other durango owners out there that have this problem. This is a great danger and a recall with a fix should be issued.

Fuel system "spews" gasoline seconds after automatic shut off valve stops pump. Believe this to be an issue with the filler tube check valve referenced in 2005 dodge during recall. Extremely unsafe. This has happened numerous times.

Approximately a pint of gasoline spills/shoots from the gas tank filler neck onto the vehicle and the ground when the tank is full during refueling.it appears that the tank vent mechanism has stopped working correctly allowing fuel to shoot out. This is a safety, fire, and environmental hazard.

Fuel spray from filler neck when tank reaches full.the shut off in the filler neck/gas tank fails causing fuel to spray from the filler neck towards the person filling and on the side of the vehicle, approx. A pint or so worth of gas.

Upon filling fuel tank nozzle kicked off like normal but gas spewed out of the neck of the gas tank.

Fuel squirts out of filler neck every time the tank is filled, doesn't matter if it is filled fast or slow.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that gasoline would spray out of the fuel filler neck while the contact was refueling the vehicle. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was refueled. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told to replace the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 26,000 and the current mileage was 40,122.

While filling gas tank the auto stop on the pump will kick off. After a few seconds fuel will begin to flow out of the tank. Tried to stop the pump on my own and still continues to do it. Sounds like the same recall they had on the 2005 durangos.

During the fuel filling of my durango, once the pump clicks off after the tank is full gas will then back flush out of the fill neck on the person filling the vehicle as well as on the ground causing a immediate fire hazard.

Filling gas tank at fuel pump; set the auto-fil on pump; handle clicked (as normal when a tank is full) as i reached to grab the handle to put away - right before i touch the handle gas is regurgitated and spewed all over me and the side o f the vehicle. I reported the issue to the gas station clerk as a faulty pump and he put an out of order sign on it. Then less than a week later it does the same thing and conviently i see another dodge durango of similar body style and the owner smirks, "your's hates gas too!" leading me to believe it is a defect. We started chatting and he showed me a youtube video of another durango doing the same thing and said hope you have an extended warranty. Took the vehicle to earnhardt dodge where the vehicle was purchased with a lifetime-warranty and they fixed january 10th 2012 for the deductible price of $100. However, further investigation on my part reveals that some (not all were included, but yet some not included suffer the same symptom) 2005 dodge durango were recalled for a faulty gas tank chek-valve that resulted in the exact same parts being replaced: the tank and inlet assembly. Since these are the same parts that were replaced because of the my fuel leak issue - i can only believe that the recall should be extended to cover all similar body style durango's as it is obviously not a problem exclusive to the 2005 dodge durango which shares a body style 2004/5-2009.

The fuel line from the fuel pump came off while driving down the road it has never been touched it is all factory original and i found two other hoses off to both had no clamps on it from the factory this is a major fire hazard and i want to be repaid for my repairs you should've already recalled this it's on the internet and it has been proven it's happened to multiple vehicles why has this not been recalled this is a major fire hazard and you're doing nothing about it is dodge paying you to keep your mouth shut or you as crooked as the rest of the companies out there it sounds like it because why is it all over the internet why has nothing been done this should've been took care of years ago

I went to a gas station to fill up on fuel and when the attendant heard it click off and tried to remove the gas hose the gas tank spit fuel back out and down the side of my vehicle. This is the second time it has done this and only the second time i have done a full fill-up since i bought it in august.

Fuel splash back from filling tube after automatic shut off on fueling nozzle releases.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel spewed out of the filler neck valve without warning. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 80,000.

Takata recall when filling up my vehicle shoots gas back out all over me

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. While refueling the vehicle, fuel spilled out of the filler hole when removing the nozzle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank would needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Vehicle was stationary at a filling station fuel pump with engine off.when the filling pump nozzle shuts off back pressure from the vehicles fuel tank forces a stream of gasoline back out of the fill neck.this happens every time the fuel tank is filled.i have read that this is a common problem in several chrysler vehicles caused by a faulty check valve in the fuel tank.

Gas tank spits fuel back out and over flows no detect automatically when close to full no warnings given , transfer case malfunction dropped out of gear while driving down the road and refused to go back into any gear.

Fuel spews out of the filler neck everytime i fill up the vehicle whether i use the auto fill or hold the lever by hand.if the vehicle is filled with any speed 1-2 pints of fuel will come spitting back out when it reaches the top.the fuel has spit on me and my wife on several occasions.this happens regardless of the level the tank is at prior to filling or how long the vehicle was operated before attempting to fill it.i was able to find a dodge warranty bulletin d-12-07, covers 2007-2008, and attempted to get my vehicle fixed under that bulletin but was told my vehicle didn't fit the criteria.there was also a tsb 14-001-12 for the same issue but again they will not fix my vehicle.this has occurred since i purchased my vehicle used in 2011.i know dodge is aware the issues these vehicles have with the fueling system as the 2005 was recalled for the same reason and i found similar warranty bulletins for 2005-2006.i have sustained minor chemical burns from fuel being spewed onto my pants.this problem has a solution and dodge refuses to fix it.

I've noticed since i bought my truck, when i have it on autofill at the gas station, there's no indication for when the gas is full... It come spewing out all over me and down the side lf the car! i thought it may have been the pump, but it happens every single time i fill my tank all the way full. Now from the gas over flowing so many times, i have very bad rust around where you fill up the gas. It's rusting a hole straight threw!! as i read and do research, i see many others have this complaint as well and still there is no recall !!

When filling up the gas tank, i had some fuel leak out when i was finished pumping, probably a half gallon at least. It then runs down the side of the vehicle causing a fire threat. This has happened at multiple gas stations

Every time i fuel the vehicle up (at multiple gas stations) the pump does not shut off a when the tank is full, causing fuel spit back and overflow.this causes a fire danger and a hazmat situation.

Fuel spits out of fill tube every time we fill up!it has happened at several different stations in different states.this is very unsafe!each time the gas is pumped, the nozzle clicks off to turn off the pump.1 second later you hear a gurgling noise and gas spouts out of the fuel tube.it soaks the side of the car and your clothes and shoes are drenched in gasoline!!from my online research, this problem has been happening with several years of durangos and jeeps. There are no recalls for 2008 durangos!how can this be? it seems to be the same recall from 2005 but hardly anyone is having success getting the dealers to replace the tanks.what are we waiting for? someone to burn to death?

Every time the fuel tank is filled to 3/4 or more there is always a back splashof about 2-3 cups of fuel. If enginehas been running long could run down side of vehicle and ignite on hot exhaust pipes.

While pulling into a parking space at low speed while cranking the steering wheel, the engine just shut off.i had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the other cars.this has now happened twice.the dodge dealership couldn't find a problem and the message boards are full of people experiencing similar near-crashes.

Gas tank fuel pump unit leaking due to severely deteriorated and cracked plastic. This was identified as the cause of a dashboard warning light. Only after dropping the fuel tank is the fuel pump unit visible. Air bubbles could be seen coming from the top of the fuel pump unit. A metal attachment ring was severely rusted and the fuel unit plastic casing was deteriorated and leaking. The white plastic used for the fuel unit does not seem appropriate for the heat and corrosion in that location. The fuel pump unit was replaced and the warning light is off.this vehicle had the fuel fill tube replaced six months earlier to resolve the fuel spill problem on this vehicle model. The warning light only appeared after that service. It was taken to the dealer once without finding the cause, and a second time when the problem was found. Once the light comes on it doesn't go off. The owner has some suspicion that the warning light comes on when the gas tank is a little low on fuel. Previously gas fumes could sometimes be noted. The car is stored outside. I, the owner, am concerned about the white plastic material used in the construction of the fuel pump unit.

Upon filling the fuel tank, the pump clicks off and gasoline spews back out of the fuel fill neck.this has happened several different times at different fuel stations.approximately a pint to a quart of gasoline quickly spews back out of the tank covering the side of the vehicleand pants and shoes of whomever is fueling the vehicle.

Upon completion of filling the fuel tank either manually or with the automatic pumping device once the fuel tank is full gasoline will spray out of the fuel filler neck.it does not matter how slow or fast the fuel is placed into the tank it will spill back out.this causes a great safety concern.

Gas tank spits fuel back out and over flows no detect automatically when close to full no warnings given , transfer case malfunction dropped out of gear while driving down the road and refused to go back into any gear.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. While the vehicle was parked, the vehicle reversed independently without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,250.

The transmission puts itself into 4wd sometimes with an instrument panel light, sometimes without.it does this both when stopped and at highway speeds.i've seen hundreds of the same complaint when i searched this online.it's a 2008 model but it's a relatively new car for me so, that is why i'm just mentioning it now.in the few months i've owned the vehicle, this has happened no fewer than 10 times. On two separate occasions it happened while i was driving. I did not crash on either of those occasions but, it was very close both times.the second time, after lurching very hard across two lanes, it then kicked into neutral and i was unable to accelerate or even continue down the road to a safe spot to stop.instead, i was stuck in an active lane to wait on a tow truck.luckily, i was not hit.i was just stranded.if this was just me, i wouldn't complain here. But, as i said, i searched online and found hundreds of complaints of the same matter dating back the past decade or so.i live in dubai, uae.my phone number is [xxx].the number in the information below is a very old home phone number from when i lived in the us.the attached form wouldn't take my actual address or phone number.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 80 year old mother-in-law could not get seat belt released. My husband tried to get herout and couldn't. We had to cut the belt.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango.the contact stated that the rear seat belt would not latch.both the dealer and manufacturer denied any assistance with repair to this vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage was 84,000.

While driving all electrical and engine, steering shut down with no notice....no lights or steering while in the dark will get me killed

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. When driving over an obstruction in the road, the vehicle veered to the left or right independently. The contact was able to eventually regain control of the steering wheel. The contact stated that when driving up a hill or making a sudden turn, the engine stalled. The contact was able restart the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a unknown sensor failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited x. The contact was driving 40 mph when she drove over a road bump and the vehicle began shaking abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The dealer was not able to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 36,000. Updated 08-23-12 the consumer stated the violent shaking is known as "death wobble". When traveling on the expressway or the street at 40 to 50 mph my 2008 dodge durango almost loses control whenever i hit a groove in the road or the slightest bump. My suspension has been check several times and nothing is ever found to be wrong. I was recently at the dealership for another recall when i asked about this issue and i was informed this was called the "death wobble" or the "road walk". When i hit a bump my truck can literally skip into the next lane. I have researched online and found this is a common problem for dodgesuvs.i don't understand how something so potentially dangerous has not been addressed. This has been an ongoing issue. My first step is to file a vehicle safety to make you guys aware of the issue. This has been ongoing and i've ignored it thinking that is just the way these trucks are made, but after almost losing control with my family in the car i have to do something.

Tamara recall. No longer have stable control of my 08 dodge durango. Airbag light is on aswell as esp abs traction light.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated while driving various speeds he noticed a vibration and shaking in the front end. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who advised him that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was notrepaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

We were traveling thru a reduced speed area on a 4 lane highway at 50 mph when the vehicle went into what is known by me now as a "death wobble".i managed to keep it on the highway and pull off onto the left shoulder. I found the left tie rod had come apart so there was essentially no steering control. Luckily we had to slow down in the area as we were traveling at 70 mph a couple minutes earlier and had traveled thru quite a number of 2 lane construction zones with heavy traffic. Local dodge dealers said there was no recall but this week i received a recall notice for this very problem on my 2003 dodge 2500 truck. We know another couple this happened to from our town as well. I incurred a lot of expense over this and luckily there was no injuries but believe this is a wider problem than is realized.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. The contact stated that there was an abnormal noise from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised that the tie rods were failing on both the front driver and passenger sides. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and advised that there was no warranty on the tires. The failure and current mileage was 41,000.

Passenger entry assist grab bar. This entry assist allows front passenger to place hand inside bar and grip with closed hand to get into the passenger seat. This bar completely broke away from vehicle as passenger attempted to use it to get into the front passenger seat. Dodge dealer states that this is not covered under our warranty. This failure could have been disastrous if passenger had not been able to catch her balance before falling backward on our concrete driveway.updated 08/24/11

Both driver and passenger front door moldings started to peel off, roughly 12 inches, from the front of the door.i am afraid that one or both of these heavy rubber moldings are going to peel off completely while at highway speeds, striking a vehicle behind and causing an accident or fatality.dodge will not cover repair or replacement as the vehicle is outside warranty, but this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.if outside temperatures cause the adhesive to fail, maybe they should be attached to the vehicle in a more secure manner.

I purchased my 2008 durango from herb chambers feb 4, 2013 since then it has been in the shop for several suspension noises (at least 3 times) in oct 2013 i brought my vehicle back in complaining that the suspension is noisy over all types of bumps. The technician checked it out and i was told that the stabilizer links needed to be replace and that they had to be ordered, that is when the waiting game started. I am still waiting on the links and my vehicle is getting worse to the point that when taking turns, going over bumps (big or small) there is tons of popping, cracking and excessive rattling happening. My tires are wearing and i am getting scared because i have also experienced issues when breaking with wheel lock up!! i have children that i am forever driving around to different sports games and dance competitions. I am really worried. I have a case with the customer assistance center for chrysler but i just keep getting e mails telling me that there is still no known date as to when these backordered parts will be in and how sorry we are that they are not here as of yet, but that we will let you know as soon as they are in. I am having issues while driving and i want this fixed it is unfair that i purchase a vehicle and have had issues with it from the start and now this with no end in sight. They should be providing alternate transportation for those of us that are having this problem because it is a real safety issue and it is causing other issues with worn tires, alignment, and braking problems with the possibility of a roll over. The roads in massachusetts are at their worst ever which make driving really bad to begin with so having a suspension problem with no fix in sight really stinks. Not feeling safe!!

Have not been contacted about replacing the passenger air bag and the is on forthe air bag.

Failure to repair vehicle/ safety recall notice g28 ignition/park shift interlock defective / phoned dealer, said they would have to order part and get back to me , never called back, i re-called, said part wasn't in and later emailed, no response, been over two months -

While entering another highway from a ramp in cruise control, i attempted to accelerate.the gas pedal went to the floor by itself and the car accelerated at a drastic, unwanted rate.i could not turn the cruise control off using the off button and i slammed on the brakes and held them down and steered off to the side of the road with the engine revving at full speed.i let up on the brakes to see if it would stop, but the car accelerated again and i had to apply the brakes at full force and brought the car to a shuddering stop while holding the brakes down.while the engine was still revving at top speed, i put the car into neutral and only then would the cruise control button shutoff.i was able to drive 800 miles with no further incidence by not using the cruise control and i will be taking it to a dealer in my area.

The contact owns a 2008 dodge durango. Upon opening the driver's door, the contact noticed that the interior of the vehicle was drenched after it rained overnight. The contact stated that the failure was due to the sun roof assembly because the assembly failed at least ten times before within the past ten months. The contact stated that the failure first occurred in june of 2017. At that time, the vehicle was taken to the dealer (crystal chrysler/jeep/dodge in brooksville, florida, 352-597-1265) where it was diagnosed that the sun roof failed. The sun roof assembly was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the sun roof was repaired once again. The approximate failure mileage was 174,000.
