My son was involved in an accident november 06, 2013. My son was exiting when he stated he felt tire fell, his car flipped front to end 3x, and then hitting a pole, this causing him to be ejected 100 feet and landing on a grassy median. My son was pronounced dead at the scene, but paramedics were able to revive him. My son was on life support and had to go through a lot and is now okay... During this time we also learned that none of the air-bags he had in the car deployed... The car is equipped with 12-14 air bags... If you need more information please feel free to contact me. I have not been able to resolve this, can you please help...updated 11/18/14updated 8/12/2015
July 14th, 2014 i bought a dodge dart vin [xxx]. The car was properly maintained.did not have problems with the car.while driving on may 8th, 2015.on i-75 going about 70 miles per hour with thick flow of traffic. I heardand felt something crack on the front driver side of my car, under my feet. The car immediately pulled left and hit a concrete barrier wall. The car then bounced off a toyota prius. I landed in the ditch on the right side of the highway mile marker 299 in pasco county florida. My first complaint is whatever broke to cause the accident. Which i cannot be specific about because i don't know if it was the axel or what yet. Taking note that no one was hurt. My second complaint is that not one of my 6 "advanced"safety airbags deployed in my cab after hitting two objects at that speed. As to why i do not know what broke yet.i called for dodges roadside service, i was picked up and rode with my car to the nearest dodge dealership. Jim browne citruschrysler jeep dodge ram, in dade city. This dealership did not have a body shop. I was told by the manager at the dealership my car would be towed to the body shop they used. As my car was under warranty and the accident report reflects mechanical error.after this day i would not see or know where my vehicle was for 46 days when the towing company called me about storage fees for my car that we couldn't locate. I put in a complaint back in 2019 about using to much oil and my car acting funny. Now the car will jump/jerk when you put on the gas and the air bag light comes on and the engine light. I took it to have it fixed last year at a sullivan's garage and he can not find anything wrong. He went a head and changed the oil. And mind you i just had it changed aweek before. And he said i was already half a quart low. My car still will start jerking/jumping and stop. Ill have to turn the key off and take out and put the key back in and start the car. And the engine and airbag lights will go off.and i just had a oil change.it happens when i'm getting on the freeway to go home from work and ill have to pull to the side of highway!!! driving to the store. This only happens when car engine is running lights come on and car is moving starts doing the jerks. Please do a recall on the engine!!! i love my car!!! but this is going to get someone hit in the car. And something needs to done now!!!!!! my husband thought i was crazy, until he drove it. You can call him [xxx] ask for [xxx]. My husband has sullivan's garage phone number also.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While the contact was attempting to drive in reverse, the vehicle shifted into neutral independently. Also, the check engine and gear shifter warning indicators illuminated. Furthermore, the back up camera would not function. The vehicle was taken to federico chrysler dodge jeep ram (1875 e edwardsville rd, wood river, il 62095, 618-254-1000) where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable detached from the transmission. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 44,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Check engine light will flash while simultaneously the gear selections lights all glow red. Stability indicator signals loss as well as extremely rough shifting. Loss of reverse camera, moon roof, loss of auto windows both up and down, as well aspractically all forward motion as if the transmission has suddenly stopped working. Once stopped safely and vehicle has been disabled i.t will not start without a series of steps prior to ignition. 1. Press accessory button. 2. Place in nuetral. 3. Return to park. 4. Open and close driver door. 5. Apply foot to the brake pedal. 6. Press ignition switch to start the vehicle. These steps allow the vehicle to become operational; however the check engine light will remain on for various lengths of time. The transmission now shifts less rough than during the initial malfunction. I have experienced this malfunction both while starting my car and during operation on the open road. At which point the vehicle becomes clearly unsafe to operate, due to loss of motion. I personally do not feel safe operating this vehicle alone and especially with my family aboard. I have researched this issue hours on end and found masses falling to the same vehicle malfunction. As of yet my specific vin# has yet to be recalled regardless of the nature of the malfunctions. I charge you nhtsa to press upon chrysler for safety of not only my family but all the others out in the world at risk due to faulty engineering and equipment.
Battery light comes on, once that occurs the radio goes pitch black and we lose total control over the radio and hvac controls. The dash gauges shut off including turn signal blinkers and clicking sound. And whether the a.c. Is on or not the heater defrost comes on full blast and i can't get it to turn off. Until the rear defrost and battery light is off. But it will immediately do it again. This problem occurs whether the car is in park, in drive but idling, while driving down the road and when turning left.
Bought a 2014 dodge dart 2 years. Had no problems with it till recently when car started to shut off while running in motion. I lost power steering control and power to the whole car. Incident happened on four different occasion. Three times on residential road and once on freeway. Completely a safety issue and has put my life in danger multiple times. Electronic throttle control, electronic stability control light, and check engine light turned on. Contacted chrysler dodge and their solution was to have me tow car to dealership and pay to have car serviced even though car is still under warranty.car has put my life and the life of other people in danger multiple times and the company seems to not care even after contacting them formally with complaint.

Now car will only start with a jump sitting in carlot 4 dodges being serviced for electric computer problems. Now none of my lights on battery is good but car won't start. A recall needs to be checked asap.

The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned off and restarted that it would reset and the issue would not be present. The dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. On three occasions, my car has completely turned off while the car was on and in drive. On one occasion, in september 2019, i drifted to safety and tried putting my car in park, the shifter effortlessly slid to park mode but the light was on "d" as if it were in drive. I could not take my key out because my car thought it was in drive so i was stuck with my foot on the break, with a car that shut down on me. I couldn't even move the key to try to take it out and restart the car. I brought my car in and "fixed it'. I was told there was a v34 recall and that they replaced the transmission side shifter cable bushing. However, less than a year later it happened again, twice today (june 2020). Once on my way too the gym and once from the gym, back home. On both occasions today, the electronics on the touch screen and the digital display that displays the speed went black and restarted then my car completely died while in drive. Cars piled up behind me. People werehonking and angry. I tried moving the shifter to park so i could take my key out and restart but the car locked up on me and i was unable to move the shift or take my key out. I had to wiggle the key out for over a couple min and eventually was able to move the key in park and take it out and restarted my car. It caused a traffic dilemma and was terrifying that my car completely shut down in a not so safe area and on a really busy road during rush hour. How could you sell a car to society that will spontaneously stop? i could have died!
Our daughter was driving our three-week-old dodge dart. It began smoking as she exited the highway and, within seconds, she lost her ability to brake and steer. The car was completely engulfed in flames within 1-2 minutes and is a total loss.she was able to get out without physical injury but was extremely shaken. The fire department put out the fire. We can provide pictures of the fire, showing the flames shooting many feet into the air and the car encased in smoke.
I bought this car brand from the dealer. It has stalled on me and on occasions, it does nothing when i turn the key to start. Total electrical defect. Sent lemon law form and only got a new battery from chrysler. The car still doesn't idle or run right. In the stalling scenario, the car was in motion. In the no start it was in park. I now have 117,000 miles on the car and feel defenseless to get a resolution. On occasions, the charging system light will come on as i turn the key off.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). The contact took the vehicle to stevens creek chrysler jeep dodge ram (4100 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129) for the recall repair, however, the vehicle failed to start after it was returned. The dealer agreed to repair the vehicle and had the battery replaced. The contact then received another unknown recall notification and returned to the dealer for the repair. Upon return of the vehicle, the vehicle again failed to start. The dealer then informed the contact that the starter failure was due to a defective transmission assembly, a part that was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa for assistance. The transmission assembly was not repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000.
My grand mother was driving her 2014 dodge dart and her electronic dash cluster quit working while she was driving.the dash cluster in her car is the speedometer and all necessary gauges and displays.when we took the car to the dealer the dealer said that it was a known issue but they said that there was nothing they could do.i think this is similar to the recent recall on the new dodge's that had a recall on the dash clusters also.the dealer also said that the dash clusters were on backorder because they are replacing that many of them.my grandma was driving in town less than 35 mph zone.she said that the display was there then gone.she was not sure what happened. She was not sure what was working or not working on her car she made it home and parked the car.
This vehicle have had two occasions of master cylinder brake fluid loss and unexplained totall engine oil evaporation without warning that caused the loss of power while driving. Luckily it happened in city, not highway.
When putting the car in park, the car doesn't turn off. We brought it to the dealer to get a recall done, but the problem was never fixed.i think dodge just sent the notice and lied about how to fix the problem. The dealer, suresky, wanted to charge to have the diagnostics done on the car, but since the recall was never fixed, i don't want to pay for the diagnostics.the same problem still exists.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving various speeds, the vehicle shut off without warning. Afterwards, the vehicle would sometimes restart and other times it would take multiple attempts to restart. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, but they were unable to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The vin was unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While operating the vehicle, the instrument cluster lights dimmed for several seconds before illuminating again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 8,000.
Vehicle was purchased used november 2016. Vehicle has around 37000 miles. While driving the vehicle it will randomly have complete loss of power and the battery light would turn on. Also, when i wouldtry to start the vehicle after it shut off it would take a few attempts to start the vehicle again.in the past week it had happened 4 times. I have noticed it happens within 10 minutes of turning on the car and it has been sitting for 6+ hours. In one incident i was turning onto a major road and it shut off while cars were coming. This is an extreme hazard toward my safety and others.
Rental car dodge dart, rented on 11/23. Not sure what model year it was. The ignition switch shut off twice over four hours of driving it. Once as i was parking in a parking spot and once while i was on the highway traveling at 70mph. When i got home, i tried to see what caused it to shut off and noticed that my knee was touching the extra key on the key ring, which put a slight bit of pressure on the key in the ignition switch, causing the ignition to turn off quite easily. Luckily i was able to get the car restarted while driving, and that the highway was not curved. Otherwise, the outcome could have been much worse. Here is a video i recorded where i reproduced the conditions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l6pczhwrrg
I bought my 2014 dart brand new in january of 2015. As of today (4/9/18), it has 47,200 miles on it. I was taking residential roads to drop my daughter off at school, slowing to stop at a stop sign and turn right. I thought i slowed too much and needed to slightly accelerate to get me to the stop sign. When trying to accelerate, i realized the car had stalled, but all inside lights and radio were still on. The "battery" light (charging system light) came on and stayed on until i turned the car off. I tried to restart the car, but all it would do was try to turn over. I know it's not the battery, as it was replaced less than 6 months ago. All terminals/connections to the battery and alternator are not loose. After trying to restart the car twice, it finally started on the third try with hesitation. From there, i was able to continue to the school (less than a mile - it's only 1.3 miles from my house to the school). When i got back home, i let the car sit for roughly 2-3 minutes and restarted it again - no hesitation. After looking for answers online, i've found at least 34 identical problems with no explanation and no help from dodge/chrysler. (except for one or two engine replacements). (carcomplaints.com) i am scared to drive my car to work, as i don't want it to stall on the highway and get in an accident, especially because i have two children that are picked up from my work. This is only going to cause a fatal accident if something isn't done about this. We've had nothing but problems with this car (radio freezes and restarts intermittently, transmission will shift hard, etc.).
For the last 4 months my vehicle shuts off as i'm driving. After 3 trips to the dealership for a few test they determine that due to low oil consumption the car has a sensor that shuts off the engine while driving. During one of these incidents my vehicle turned off as i was approaching an intersection in which the brakes did not work which lead me to slowly roll into the intersection on a red light. Luckily it was morning rush hour so no accidents occurred. I truly believe this vehicle needs to be recalled it's a safety hazard not only for me but also for others
Car shuts off while driving, all electrical loses power. Checked recall, nothing posted. It started about 1 month ago, happens once a week. Check the forum and there are numerous complaints listed about this issue. Dealership wont return call.
Silver billet paint has black specs in it two dealerships says bad factory paint job. Back up camera becomes fuzzy or just goes out. Seats on my gt fade .
Started having issues when i started leasing it in 2014.it has been taken into the dealership at least 7 times now, due to stalling out. Everytime i take it in,its because of the same issue.it stalls out at all times, whether it be pulling out of my driveway in the morning, turning slowly around the corner, driving on a local side street going 30 mph, when i started to brake before a speed bump, going 60 mph on the highway, i cankeep going. Each time i have been given the run around, problem can't be duplicated, so lets guess. Pcm replaced a couple times as well as the flash updates performed, pcv valve replaced multiple times and it still stalls out.have even had to pay for a battery because they stated that was the issue before and it wasn't so i had to pay for a battery when i could have used that money for something else as i am in a tight budget as it is. As of today, the vehicle was taken to the dealership, again, (i have been to two different dealerships as well) as of today, my pcv and map sensor replaced, again. I was told from an individual from corporate that he told the dealership he wanted them to keep the vehicle to try to replicate the issue. Apparently that was not done which i will certainly be addressing with him and request be done.since the first time i brought it in, which was within the first few months of having it, there always seemed to be an issue with it being "low on oil",every single time. I think that should have raised a red flag the 3rd or 4th time i brought it in. They are playing a guessing game, not being loyal and fair.this is a huge safety concern and it needs to be taken off the market, completely. Ithink they are just doing anything to buy time because my lease is almost up,not fair. I already have legal counsel standing by. When someone gets killed, then they will worry about our safety.how many complaints will it take.
I was driving my car in town and all of a sudden the dash cluster quit working.i was driving about 30 mph on a small town city street.when i took my car to the dealership for repair they said that is a very common problem.if it is a very common problem they took a week to get the parts because they can't make them to repair the cars as the dash clusters are failing.
I bought a brand new 2014 dodge dart aero and about 3 weeks after purchasing my car stalled and shut off, the transmission light came on. I took it to dodge and they said they did not have a code but they saw an issue with my anti-lock brake system. A part to my transmission was recalled, we waiting for over 3 months for the part and upon bringing my car to the dealership they reported my car not starting. About 3 weeks after my transmission recall was "fixed" my engine starting smoking upon starting the car at least 5 times and my engine was completely replaced, they again reported my car would not crank. My car was in the shop for 27 days, two days after picking my car up it was brought back to the dealor for the car feeling like the transmission was slipping at various speeds. It's been almost 2 weieks with no update. Dodge resolutions has sent an inspector. Initially the car was purchased with about 220 miles on it, the car is only at 17,000 now.
I bought a used 2014 dodge dart act in september 2017, in late december early january i brought car in to the dealership because it kept stalling out. They looked at it and said it was because the oil was low. Fast forward to may. I'm on the way to the store and my car stalls out while i'm driving with my 4yr daughter in the car. I got it started back up after a few mins but it stalled out after a min. Then again later in the night 3 more times in less then a quarter mile. This apparently is an ongoing issue amongst otherdadge dart owners. This problem could kill people and dodge is doing nothing to rectify the situation.
At 51000 miles the battery wouldn't stay charged needed an alignment at 2k miles per the dealer not covered under warranty at 46000 miles the ac compressor blew and discharged all the coolant the car was shaking right after the ac repair and smelled like rotten eggs dealer blamed it on a spark plug
On numerous occasions i have gotten into my vehicle, started it and drove off. Now, if i do not let it warm up for a few minutes and get in and start it and take off, it will stall out when i slow down or come to a stop on a few occasions this has happened leaving my driveway on a blind hill, almost getting me hit in the drivers door. Yesterday, 2/12/2020, this again happened and it stalled out on me two times, once while turning around leaving me sideways across the road. It has happened at very busy intersections, it is just random.i feel it needs to be looked into. I did look it up and see numerous people are reporting the same issues.last time this happened was on 2/12/2020 while leaving my driveway each time, the car was in drive when it stalled and pulling out of my driveway or intersection.
The car started randomly shutting off, at a stop or wouldn't start all together. After about a week of random stalling and shut offs, i took it to a mechanic. He said that it has a manufacturers defect where the car thinks it has low oil, it doesn't even have to be low. Have been adding oil and checking consistently for about a month and recently it refused to turn on. Got a jump and the car started. Had the battery and alternator checked at auto parts store , car started up no problem, and both were fine, battery fully charged. Not more than 10 minutes after testing the car would not turn on. Jumped it and it started, drove home. Again, tried to start it a few hours later and nothing, needed another jump. Used a scanner to check for computer issues and nothing came up. After driving the car about 10 miles, shut it off and again needed a jump. The car seems to just shut off or not start for no real reason. One mechanic could not figure out the issue, the other had it a couple of weeks before blaming the oil issue and now this. No recalls on this car, already checked the vin number. Not sure what to do about this car at this point without spending more on it than it is worth. 2014 dodge dart, 98,000 miles
Engine shuts off while slowing down to turn or stop at stop sign or light. No warning lights before engine shuts down. Call dodge dealer, was told to check oil and that it was common for dodge darts that oil was very low or empty and car would do that. Check and oil was empty or basically empty. Oil warning light did not come on even after engine shutdown this happened a couple of times in one week the last time i was almost hit from the rear i find this to be a very serious situation. I have no oil leaks so engine must have burned oil i still had 600 miles left to oil change. Oil light did not come on when it should have an engine should never shut down well still in motion!
This has now happened 3 times and has been taken to a mechanic every single time to get fixed. Every single time i am driving, i slow down to turn around a corner, my engine completely stops, vehicle speed slows down, everything else works fine. Will not restart, needs jumped every single time. Each time i've been left in the road hoping not to get hit. I've read multiple complaints about this everywhere. If an accident or a bigger problem comes out of this, i will be suing. I've already spent hundreds of dollars on this problem. Somebody needs to do something about this before my bank account or my car is wrecked.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart and the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who reprogrammed the software. The failure recurred after the repair was performed. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 8,500.
The last 2 weeks my 2014 dodge dart would stall in the morning. Doesn't matter when and where. It just loses all power. It wont start for several minutes. At one point at 5:30 am the car stalled on a one way street in a canyon, with backed up traffic. Today i got out of the work around 2:30 pm and while going home in busy traffic, it stalled in and was almost hit by a car behind me. I have read several complaints about the same thing and can't believe that nothing has been recalled.
Purchased 2014 dodge dart from subaru of cherry hill, nj dealership 5/2019 @ 44,000mi. Used. Excellent carfax. Since ownership, vehicle has stopped twice; once while slowed down to make a left turn, and again while stopped at a red light. Battery light did not come on either time. 3rd time vehicle didn't start after being parked for approximately 10 hrs. Needed to be jumped. After first incident of stopping, vehicle was towed to mechanic; couldn't find problem. Battery checked out as ok. Oil change performed at 47,351mi. Also, since being purchased, a slightly sweet smell comes out of fan. Does not go away. Concerned that the vehicle will stop while on a highway, causing a multi-vehicle crash. This seems very unsafe. Upon investigation, no recall was noted. Dealership called to discuss further without response. This is a very dangerous situation and there needs to be a recall. Many other drivers seem to have the same issues when searched online. Please help! most recent episode was 2/13/19.
Car wouldn't start had to replace the starting harness within the first 3 months of owning the car had to replace two batteries even after the harness was replaced but hasn't happened since. Had to replace the turbo hose assembly from pulling in oil and cracked since the oil was hot. Now im having to put in a quart of oil in it every month and i change my oil every two and half months (5,000 miles) so my engine is burning the oil off to quickly (oil consumption).also drove hit a very small pothole and had my driver side control arm snap very very cleanly and was told that it wouldn't be covered under any warranties.
On april 17, 2019, when arriving at destination, i attempted to shift gears into park. However, gears shifted into reverse permanently. I called my siblings to assist with getting the car out of reverse, the handle would move but the gears would not change. The only way we could get the car to stop was with the emergency break. We turned off the ignition, but all lights stayed on and we could not remove the key from the ignition. The only way to get the key out was to unhook the battery. I contacted the manufacturer the following day on april 18th, and they advised of a recall for shift cable bushing. I asked how long the process would take, they stated they would mail a letter to advise how to set up appointment, they would have to order parts. I called back on april 25th to inquire once again about how long the process usually takes, and they did not advise of a time frame. I advised the representative that my car cannot be driven at all, and asked if i were to get a rental car or get my car fixed myself would i be reimbursed. The representative advised that there is no guarantee. I've contacted the manufacturer once again on may 8, 2019. Representative advised that the part has still not been ordered and there is no estimated time.
In november 2014 i noticed that my air conditioner/heater blower fan would intermittently fail. It caused significant safety concerns when i could not defrost my window, particularly when actively driving the vehicle. Every dealership i took it to (four of them, multiple times at each dealership) was unable to verify whether or not other complaints had been filed, thus the difficulty which ensued. After nine months of continuous problems, the dealership finally replaced my air conditioner blower fan, which i had suspected to be the problem from the beginning. Despite my inference, the dealership insisted on replacing the entire center stack in my vehicle first, which failed to resolve the problem. It took months to convince them to just replace the blower fan. Two weeks ago my vehicle was finally repaired when the dealership replaced the blower fan.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle began to lose power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that the battery warning indicator was illuminated. The contact was able to start the ignition and heard an abnormal noise. The contact was able to drive home. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 50,405.
Interior electrical problems from day 1. Random electrical components shut off and restart all the time. Also brakes became harder and harder to use, until they stopped working altogether in traffic, but started working again after collision
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving various speeds, the vehicle lost power and stalled. Also, the battery indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but they were unable to identify the cause of the failure. The contact called keller motors inc (1795 s perryville blvd, perryville, mo 63775, (573) 547-1002) and was informed that the vin was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted via email, but they did not respond. The failure mileage was 129,059.
I was driving down the highway when the vehicle was idling at a stop light behind several other vehicles. I was feeling hot so i turned off the heater and directly after smoke flooded the cabin. When the light turned green, i proceeded forward as fast as possible to the parking lot and the vehicle caught fire from the passenger side where the cooling system reservoir was near the upper top corner of the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was off and it sounded like the fans/engine was still running despite the key being removed.
Went to start dart in the morning and the instrument panel would not light up, could not see any dashboard details such as speed, mileage etc. Tried to restart car to see if the instrument panel would appear, however it would not. Car was towed into dealership and diagnosed as being a faulty instrument cluster module. The dealership provided a rental car for 21 days because the part was on back order, chrysler also became engaged due to the car being less than a year old and having roughly 7800 miles on it. They provided charge number for rental car.
Car keeps stalling on road and not starting. This is an issue that needs to be rectified. Several others have reported the issues as well as far back as 2016. Dodge needs to do something on behalf of customers to clear this horrible safety hazard.
One hour after i accepted this auto with 7 miles on it, this happened---- while driving, the display screen went black for a few minutes. It happened on a regular basis.i kepttaking the car back to the dealership until finally ,they saw it while it had blacked out.they replaced the radio display.it still keeps happening every few months ,but they never see it ..one year later, after many visits, they plan to replace it again. Also, when i touch the key to the ignition it often buzzes like an electrical short, but it will start .,they cannot duplicate this or find the problem. Im sorry i got stuck with this car. The problems are not solved .
This is a beautiful car however i have been smelling a chemical smell similar to melting plastic or rubber sinve i purchased it in january at 39,000 miles. My passengers also smell it. The dealership did not and they did not investigate further. Now the smell has gotten worse and is more like antifreeze and melting plastic. The smell happens most noticeably after exiting the highway and comingvto a stop. My passengers all notice it. I ride with the windows lowered slightly to bring in fresh air.also the air conditioning has been turning on on its own, the backup camera recently stayed on for about a half mile after i changed from reverse to drive and began driving. Also their seems to be an occasional delay in accelleration whin shiftng gears.
Went to get in my car and the alarm system activated and it will not start. Also the motor consumes oil at an alarming pace to the point i have to take oil with me when i go anywhere. Because if i don't it will get low and the car will lose all power while i'm driving down the road. This is unsafe and needs to be fixed asap especially since i have kids. Car still will not start
This is the second time this has happened. The engine will stall randomly while driving. The first time it happened, we had to have it towed to the dealership. They said it was a sensor covered under warranty. Ok good. Well a few days after, the problem happened again. This time they say it's because the oil needed to be changed. The hud showed over 50% oil life left. The same issue happened again a few days ago. The problem seems to resolve after an oil change. I've noticed this has happened to a lot of people, but still no recalls. This is extremely dangerous. When the engine stalls, you loose power steering and brakes. This can cause a major accident. Luckily, it's only happened on surface streets. This issue needs to be looked into and fixed.
Car not runningproperly or even functioning due to an issue with the body control module. Running rough, screen to gps blacking out. No ability to even turn the heat off/on when malfunctioning. These are all things that occur either when idling or the car is in motion.
My grandma was driving her car in town and the dash cluster quit working.i tried checking fuses and did not find anything simple to fix the dash cluster to quit working.she took the car to the local dodge dealer where the car was purchased.when they asked what happened explained that the dash cluster just quit working.they said that is very common issue.i think it is a safety issues because you can't see anything no mph, gauges of any sort fuel, temperature.when operating the car you have to guess when the dash cluster is not working.
When turning the car off, the key fob gets stuck in the ignition. This sometimes can be resolved by turning the steering wheel, pressing on the brake and adjusting the shifter forward to click into park. It's as if the shifter is not recognizing the car is in park so it will not release the key fob. It could usually by fixed easily, now takes sometimes 1-3 minutes; which includes restarting the car and putting it in reverse or drive and back into park. It happens frequently & then will stop for a few days. I took my car to the dealership last week for this issue and the transmission slipping from drive to neutral while i'm driving and they 'couldn't duplicate the problem' as they stated. However, just the past two days it's happening again. This is similar to the issue from the 2019 recall for the bushing cables. There is an obvious issue as this is not normal. I don't know what to do to fix this if the dealership says they can't find a problem. Is there a new recall or other similar complaints? especially from other dodge dart owners who also had a part repaired in 2019 due to the last recall?
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken into the dealer where it was informed that the vehicle was low on oil. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000. The vin was not available.
I recently purchased my dodge dart 2014 in august of 2018. I purchased the car with around 26,000 miles on it. Great condition, excellent mileage, no accidents, and only one owner. I have only had the car for 5 months. I use it mainly as a commuter car. It started having issues almost as soon as we got it. They were first minor things. Until november 2018. My cars battery died and refused to start. I had to replace out of pocket due to it not being covered by warranty. It was having issues starting, i thought that it was due to it being cold (because it would be fine once it heated up), so at first thought nothing of it. It would start up and i would drive it less then a mile, i would start to slow down and everything would shut off. The heater and the lights would still be on but it would loose acceleration and the battery light would come on. It will do this multiple times until the car is warm(even then it will continue to do it afterward). Rpm drops to zero, check engine, electronic throttle control, and battery light all come on. This is a safety hazard due to it stopping in traffic, on the highway, and in intersections. Something needs to be done about this issue.i have read up on this issue and see that i lot of people have this issue. My car is currently at 24% oil life, i will be testing to see if the issue is resolved(temporarily) like others have been. Due to fear of it not being covered under warranty i have not taken it to the dealer. They quoted me at $400 dollars for everything that could possibly be wrong (based off this information they have an idea of already what is wrong with the car. They still want me to come in and try to charge me for it because it most likely won't be covered by the warranty.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the software codes needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The dealer then advised the contact to loosen the fuel cap and that the vehicle was safe to drive as long as the check engine warning light was not flashing. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle restarted after several attempts and the electronic throttle control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the software code needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,103.
2014 dodge dart didn't want to start, put it in n and waited a few mins and it started. Next morning same issue, but wouldn't start in n. Jumped the car , drove it 50 miles but didn't shut it off.. Got home shut it off, wouldn't start immediately after turning it off. Today jumped it to take it to get ob2 reader to get codes since check engine light came on.. Cars abs light is on, throttle control light, check engine. Amen windsheld wipers were on with wipers in off position. Car has no power when putting in drive now.. Almost seems like it didn't know it was in drive. I looked up issues with this model, everything is pointing to the tcm and bcm
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine, battery, and stability control warning lights illuminated. In addition, the contact mentioned there was a burning odor. The contact was able to pull over and the vehicle was restarted. The failure recurred on multiple attempts. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice, where it was diagnosed but the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The vin was not available.
My etc light will turn on if i take off too quickly to get up to speed with traffic. It has also started to turn off whenever i hit the brakes too abruptly. This is a huge safety issue and dodge will not even look at it unless i pay them 125 dollars. I shouldn't have to pay for something that is clearly not my fault. It is a manufacturer issue that needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or sued!
Takata recall:i pulled out of my work parking lot at 5pm after it had been sitting since 7am and drove about 2 mins down the rode, car battery light flashed and the car would no longer accelerate and steering wheel locked up. All lights and radio, a/c continued working normally. I was left stuck in the middle of an intersection. I turned the car off and turned the key a couple of times, after about 5-6 times it finally started again and drove away normally. This has happened 6 times now in the past 6 days. Most recently i was driving down a busy street going about 30 mph in far right lane, i saw the battery light flash and i swerved into a parking lot before my steering wheel locked up. It is now taking 15-20 mins to start back up, it seems to be getting worse. It only seems to stall first time driving it in the morning or after work, in both cases the car has been sitting for 8-9 hours.i'm now scared to drive this car fearful it will stop on me and i wont have a chance to get out of harms way.
Went to get in my car and the alarm system activated and it will not start. Also the motor consumes oil at an alarming pace to the point i have to take oil with me when i go anywhere.
Car stalled in the middle of a public street several times and wouldn't start at times before it finally just left me stranded.during these times there was no error on the screen letting me know what the problem was so i just kept trying to drive it. Then after awhile the check engine light turned on a few times but it was at random times and did not stay on.the car only has 18000 miles and i've only had it for 2 years. The dealer replaced the battery but did not check to see what was causing the battery to die so quick.they just told me that i don't drive it enough and that i stop and start it too much because i work too close to home... (this is not my first car and that's never happened before).this was not the first time i had this car serviced.the entire first year i kept getting an error that the tire pressure was too low and i was told that it was just an issue with the computer system but i had to replace the tires right away on a brand new car.so it's also had issues with the tires/wheels on a brand new car.people buy new cars to avoid these problems!
This month my check engine light came on, when i went to get it diagnosed/repaired, i was told it was a knock sensor. I got it replaced and less than a day later the check engine light was back on. I went back to the repair shop, they replaced the sensor again, because it was the same code, but this time with an oem part from dodge. The check engine light came back on again a day later and now i am being told the pcm needs to be replaced. I did some research and the 2013 model of my car had this problem and it was a recall. My vehicle only has 77,000 miles on it, i am still paying for it. These types of major repairs on a car is ridiculous. I used to work in the repair sector, so i know it's not unheard of, but this car should definitely not be needing a new computer already. It doesn't matter what the car is doing. When the light is cleared, it comes back on within a day (i drive about 14 miles a day round trip back and forth to work).
First of all, when steering to turn there is a cracking noise. It gives the feeling that the steering system is gonna break.second main problem is that car shuts completely down with no reason when breaking. This just happen to me this morning. I was stoping because of a red light and the car shut down there. I could not turn it on after a few minutes min while i was complete stopped in the middle of the road. This is pretty dangerous if it happens while driving in the freeway...
I need to get my shifter cable bushing replaced and my thermostat housing is messing up constantly
The contact owned a 2014 dodge dart. While driving, smoke appeared from the vehicle without warning. Once the vehicle was parked, it caught fire the contact was unaware if a police report was filed. The fire department arrived and stated that the engine compartment caught fire. The siding of the house and garage were damaged by the fire. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 27,970. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Updated 05/09/17*lj*as
Car keeps stalling on road and not starting. This is an issue that needs to be rectified. Several others have reported the issues as well as far back as 2016. Dodge needs to do something on behalf of customers to clear this horrible safety hazard.
Tiger shark multi-air 2 engine consumes 1qt oil per 1000 miles. I was unaware of this consumption issue and the oil went to low and engine is designed to shut off. This stalling has happen 3 times to and 1 to the dealership. None of the cars warning indicators come on when pressure is low the car just stalls. Dealership resolution watch oil level and there is fix for the consumption or any way for the warning lights to be triggered. So if i forget to check the oil i am gambling with my life and others on the road if the car stalls while on the highway.
As driving down the road after about a mile from home my car would no longer move but glide along. The engine was shut off and i had no control over speed. You can step on the gas and it will not move. Rpm's drop and the motor turns off in drive. After this happens the car hesitates to start but will. There is no check engine light on and all statistics for the car were as they should be. The battery is showing correct voltage. The cause is unknown.
This is the third time this has happened. The engine will stall randomly while driving. The same issue happened again today. This has happened to a lot of people, but still no recalls. This is extremely dangerous. When the engine stalls, you loose power steering and brakes. This can cause a major accident. Luckily, it's only happened on low rpm. This issue needs to be looked into and fixed.
Car was warm, not hot or cold - just started driving. At a stop, car engine died (all lights were on, stereo playing). Tried restarting, car turned over, but would not start.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced excessive oil consumption. The vehicle used over a quart of oil in 1,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the information needed to be documented for a few months, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
So i bought a 2014 dodgde dart gt a monthgone i noticed that the motor would moveon the right. So i bought the motor mounts and replaced it 1 week after i replaced it same thing keeps happening i took off the mount and replaced it w more expensive mount anther week passed and that same mount gave out making it 2 replaced. Plus the 3 the dealership had done took it too valors dealership and they told me it was the rear mount that was badalso so i replaced all motor mounts and nowsame 2 mounts iv replaced are doing the same thing the first 2 i contacted the dealership and told them their must something that wearing this mounts out so quick.cause i barly drive my car and i have to get this mount replaced for the 6th time.
While driving clutch will lose compression making it difficult to shift without grinding gears. Clutch will go all the way to the floor and inhibited you from shifting. I have had to shift into neutral to slow down hoping the clutch regains compression in order to shift into appropriate gear. This also inhibits proper acceleration when shifting gears.
I have a 2014 dodge dart that is burning oil at what seems to me to be an alarming rate. I have had my vehicle in the shop over 4 times. I am being told i have no leaks and my car is fine, and that it is characteristic that my car needs to have oil added every 2k miles. I drive my car to and from work and i rarely travel out of state. I am not over driving or rough driving my car by any means. I have spent over 1k dollars in rentals and repairs. I have a 3 year old son that i drive to daycare 4 days a week and i cannot mentally be comfortable driving my son in a car that stops in the middle of the road because its out of oil. Dodge has done nothing to help me and i am seeking legal action.
I pull out in front of car don't know if car is going to or lag. Eats oil

While i was driving my dart on the street, it shut off into nuetral and the gear box lit up red. I tried pressing on the gas and it was just stalling not moving at all. I had to put car in park (in the middle of an intersection)turn it off and turn it back on a few times before i could get it into drive again. The next day, the same thing happened when i started the car the whole gear box lit up and when i put it into drive it was on neutral and was stalling the car would not move!
I'm on the freeway driving my car and it stops in middle of the road . The power steering went out also. I almost got hit by a car behind me .
The car was dying at lights, onramps, offramps, just basically anytime the oil sloshed around enough to lose oil pressure and shut off. After 4k miles, 40% oil life left according to the monitor, the oil doesn't even register on the dipstick, had to add 2-3 quarts. Went to dodge dealership, dealt with chrysler case #'s and reps, was promised a fix and never got it. Oh yeah, the dealership tried to charge me hundreds of dollars. Had to argue with chyrsler corporate for weeks to get them to pay.is it burning? leaking? it's a manufacturing defect for sure. The epa would have a field day. Their emissions are probably completely out the window if they are burning that much oil, or releasing it into the wild 1 drop at a time. I've never seen any accumulating oil in the garage or my parking spot at work.i don't think the epa would like knowing barrels more of oil are being used than advertised.also, the car has stalled in the middle of an intersection with cars coming up behind me. It's always been to/from work or something like that, and never with my kids and family in the car. But you'd have to think that's a huge lawsuit/tragedy waiting to happen, and yet chrysler completely says that's within reasonable spec. Where the hell was this "spec" when i purchased the car? the new sticker didn't say "great gas mileage, awesome nav unit, burns 1qt of oil per week" on the window. 20 year old cars have oil level sensors, and warnings about that. Why does this new age car, not have an oil sensor on it to at least warn us of impending doom when the car stalls making a simple turn?there was a dealership franchise chain down in phoenix completely replacing people's engines for free with the 2.4l tigershark (i think some jeeps and fiat's have them as well).i also heard rumors that somewhere along the lines of 30% of 2.4l's had the piston rings in backwards?
While taking off from a light made a left turn and the car just dies this is very dangerous does not want to start right away takes a few min it started this is scary because my 1997 dodge truck still has all original stuff and never these problems
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The driver discovered that the transmission shifter had erroneously switched from the drive position into neutral. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on two separate occasions. Also, while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The failures were not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (frank fletcher dodge, 5922 warden rd, sherwood, ar) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 99,000.

Bad motor mounts, vehicle was vibrating while driving.while idling vehicle feels normal but if accelerator is pressed the entire vehicle shakes.
Issue #1: brakeswhen attempting to come to a stop (whether it be a red light, a stop sign, or a sudden stop due to heavy traffic on the highway) the brakes fail to fully grasp making me susceptible to ramming the person in front of me from behind. Issue #2: engine?on two separate occasions, the car has suddenly just shut off while driving. There is no prior warning to this occurring. Engine just completely shuts off and that leads me to sudden misses in being hit from both incoming traffic and traffic from behind. Battery is brand new so that is not the issue, especially since the car will eventually start after several attempts. I took it to my local mechanic who was unable to duplicate the issue. First time it happened was in august 2018, the past time it happened was november 2018.
I was at a complete stop, my foot was pushed down on the brake and it suddenly released from my foot followed by a whooshing sound. My brake system failed, and i had to use my emergency brake to stop my vehicle after i started driving it. I had it towed to a dealership and they diagnosed it as oil leaking from the engine into the brake booster. On 7/15/2015 my check engine light appeared, followed by the entire vehicle shaking uncontrollably. I turned the vehicle off, restated it and though the check engine light still appeared, the car no longer shook, and the check engine light went off a couple hours later. On 7/23/2015 the check engine light reappeared so i took it into the dealership where they are currently trying to diagnose what is wrong with it, but think it has a valve plugged or an engine problem. Both of these incidents occurred after i had an oil change completed on the vehicle.
2.4 l engine stalls and dies at highway speeds. The car also uses a great deal of oil, with no evidence of a leak. Have had it in the shop several times. Mechanics do not know what to do with it. Seems like a faulty engine.
Vehicle engine shakes for no reason, back camera doesn't work. I wasn't able to shift my vehicle until a part was bought that would allow vehicle to change gear. Suspension went out on front and back around 50000 miles til this day car shakes on a regular basis
At 7 am in the dark, thevehicle was approaching a train tracks crossing and stopped/stalled on a train tracks approach.all electronics were checked and verified as good.starter would not engage.while making arrangements for a tow to the dealership, i checked this board for complaints.sure enough, the low/no engine oil issue was the root cause.the engine burns oil at an alarming rate as if it were evaporative.i went back and added a quart.the car fired right up.i took it to the dealership just to be safe for them to check it out.of course, no codes were prevalent so they could do nothing but charge me for an expensive diagnostic and an oil change. They had it for a week.fca sent me a survey so i made them aware of it.now, i (along with many of my fellow dart owners) have posted to the us government's official site for actionable intelligence that they may do something (anything!). How many near misses have to be reported?how many actual failures of this sort has caused a mortal end?dead men and women tell no stories and remember that the car's flash memory does not record a code. So conceivably, this issue may have already been the cause of many preventable deaths. The internet has video available of this failure if the nhtsa are interested.it's dangerous and callous that this issue is not being investigated.
While driving my vehicle, it stalled. While driving! completely shut off. Lost powering steering, brakes. Battery light came on, but lights and radio was still on. Tried to start it up multiple times until finally at the fifth try it stated and drove like nothing ever even happened.
I would like to voice my opinion on a safety issue involving these cars with the 2.4 liter engine.these cars are using oil, way faster than they should.the cars stall out losing all power and steering if the oil becomes too low.there isn't any indicator light that you are low or any sign until it happens.currently my car is using just shy of a quart of oil every 1k miles and this is acceptable in dodge's eyes.they advertise these cars to go 6-8k miles between oil changes - no more than 10k miles!well, at 5.5 qt capacity... You will always run out plus some before a change is due!i have seen many people commenting about their vehicle stalling out on highways, etc without any warning.majority of people i'm sure are not thinking to check their oil on their new car with every gas fill up to be sure the level is ok.this is totally unacceptable!these cars use the 0w20 synthetic oil and it averages about $9 a qt.this is doubling the cost of oil changes since you need to fill it up several times in between.plus where is this oil going?mine has recently started sputtering and will be taking it back to the shop .. Again.. Have a feeling this oil is pooling somewhere and now causing a clog in something!
I love my car. I do not love having to dump a quart of oil in it every 1,000 miles. While driving my car it shut off. Everything shut off! i managed to get it restarted and make it back to my job but then had to have the car towed because it shut off again and wouldn't restart. At the time i had no clue about the oil issue as i bought my car brand new in 2014. It is costing me quite a bit to keep oil in it. The manufacturer flaw is that they used aluminum piston which burn through the oil. This needs to be fixed and a recall needs to be issued. This is dangerous and may end in death for some unsuspecting consumer.also, after coming to a stop at a stop light or sign the car shifts out of drive as soon as you release the break and press on the gas. I have had this happen multiple times and have almost been hit as it will move slightly in to the intersection and then acts like it isn't going to go anywhere when it all of a sudden jumps back into drive. This is a major hazard and i am unsure why this issue and the other issues with the 2014 dart are not being investigated and no recalls are being issued for this vin #. Obviously, there are many complaints about these issues. Since the issues can end in fatalities it should be looked at a lot closer than it is. These issues are continual, there isn't just one date for them.
If i brake within 5 minutes of starting my vehicle, the next time i brake all of the dashboard lights will flash on, the battery light will stay on, and the car will stall. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes the car will start again. This happens within a week of when my car needs an oil change. This happened 10/24/2017, 10/25/2017, and 5/17/2018.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the engine stalled. After four attempts, the vehicle was able to restart. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to dealer where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The carloses power and shuts off.the oil has to be topped off every 60 to 90 days or the car will not run or will shut down while driving on the expressway.when the vehicle comes to a stop, it may may not start at all.over the past year, i have had to have it towed 4 times.the last tow to the dealershipcost over $500.00for parts relative to the transmission.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving the vehicle, the oil was burning. When the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed oil spots on the driveway, which indicated that oil was leaking. The dealer diagnosed that the oil pan was the source of the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The oil was not leaking anymore, but it started to burn out. The contact stated that the vehicle had to constantly be filled with oil. The service engine light illuminated. Once the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and oil was added, the light dimmed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000.
Dodge dart uses 1quart of oil 1,000 miles #2 does not shift in corect gear #3 rubbing in the frount end when stearing.
Engine over-consumes oil. The engine will be dry from consuming all oil at 4,000miles.
This vehicle have had two occasions of master cylinder brake fluid loss and unexplained totall engine oil evaporation without warning that caused the loss of power while driving. Luckily it happened in city, not highway.
Starting at around 50,000 miles my vehicle has constant problems with the engine over heating. I bought it into the shop in august for this problem. They replaced some clamp and said that was the problem. In september the car was overheating again. I noticed the coolant was very low so i filled it and that seemed to work. Then in october the engine too hot light came on, again. I brought it back to the shop. They replaced the radiator cap and said that was the problem. Then one week later the engine light comes on for a cylinder 2 miss fire. I get that repaired and then the very same day the engine too hot light comes on. Refill the coolant again. There does not appear to be a leak and no one can seem to find any internal problems or signs of internal leaking yet the car just keeps over heating and now its just a guessing game as to when it happens again. Every time it has happened it has been at different amounts of movement. The first time i was stationary. The second time i was going slow. The third time was on the highway.
About two to three weeks ago my breaks completely went out. I was driving and all of a sudden my foot was to the ground and my car was barely stopping. Took it to a shop and they told me my break line snapped and the fluid contaminated my breaks. Needed to replace everything on the front end (breaks, pads, break line, etc.)fast forward to about two weeks agoi'm backing out of a driveway onto a main, super busy road, i shift into drive and my car dies. I press the gas and my car won't move. I had to turn my car off and on again in the middle of traffic to get it to start up.this happened again a couple days later as i was backing out of my own driveway. Backed out perfectly fine, put it into drive and it dies. Won't move when you press on the gas. Turn the car off and then back on and it drives again. Finally, today (august23) i backed out of my driveway and put it in drive. Nothing bad happened then, but as i was coming up to a light and slowing down to turn, my cars battery light comes on and it won't go faster when i hit the gas. I pull into the auto repair shop that was there (thankfully) stopped the car and turned it off. When i tried to start it this time, it wouldn't start. I gave the guys at the shop my keys and info and just got a call that my car had no oil and they think it shut down to a safety feature. But my car was telling me i still had a 23% oil life. There were no warnings prior to the car shutting down. I do not feel safe in this car anymore, especially since i use it to deliver in and i commute to school. I never know when the next time it's going to stall out. And i don't want to get into an accident. Especially when i'm on the clock at work.
Car spontaneously stalled in highway driving.seems to be a known issue.2013 darts were actually recalled over the issue.incredibly dangerous.dodge should be required to recall the 2014s just like they recalled the 2013s.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed as being low on two quarts of oil. The vehicle was taken to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
While driving i started to slow down to stop at a light and my car began to jump as if it was stailing. My car was brand new at purchasing and about four months in it began to sound louder as if it was a ten year old car. That occured when i crunk up the car to warm it up in the morning. Reading others experiences with this vehicle i believe it should be recalled for the safety of everyone before things get worse. An engine is nothing to take lightly and i hope the companies realize that.
So we were driving the roads were wet and it was snowing as we switched lanes we lost control of the car on the highway spun about 10 times and hit a cement barrier at about 40 miles hit the front of the car and the air bags did not deploy at all .
Every morning after i start my car i drive down the street and it stalls mid traffic. It does it multiple times. I have to drive around my neighborhood til vehicle stalls 4-5 times then drives ok. Safety issue. I have noticed that some of the cars have been recalled but not mine
In the past two weeks my car has stalled out 3 times and it has been unable to start back up. I've had the battery replaced and mechanics cannot determine the issue. The stalling has occurred between 2-5 minutes of driving and always while in motion. This has happened to me in the middle of morning rush hour on city streets each time and i have been lucky enough to pull over to the side before losing all momentum and being stuck in the middle of the road. When it stalls out all the dashboard lights flash on and the engine died. Two of the times happened after making a 90 degree turn, and one time it happened after just going around a curve in the road. It also seems to occur as i am accelerating or decelerating. When trying to turn it back on, the lights and electronics will turn back on but the engine will not turn. I have noticed several complaints for the same issue and i have looked up my vin on the nhtsa website but it is not under any recalls. I have already spent $265 + aaa towing fees on this issue. The three dates that this has occurred to me are: 3/17/17, 3/24/17, and now 3/27/17. I am keeping all my receipts and i will contact aaa to show the proof of their towing/service.
Vehicle stalls while moving for no reason, several dash lights come on
My dodge dart has an issue where the battery light will turn on and then the car will turn off while it is in use. This issue began around 1 year ago and has been sporadically happening since then. My mechanic exchanged my battery but the issue persisted and he has been unable to find a cause. Upon doing some research this is a common problem with dodge darts. When the oil gets low the car will shut off when in use without an indicator light showing the oil is low and despite the oil life percentage not being critically low (it was 17% the most recent time it happened to me). This is extremely dangerous because it happens abruptly and the steering locks up while the car is shutting off.
Pulling to a stop on the morning of tuesday, june 21, car shuddered then died 1 block from home. No warning lights came on, and none had flashed in the 1.5 years i have owned the car. Could not get car to start for 10 minutes. Once car started, no warning lights appeared. Drove it to my local service station for a diagnostic. They found no issues. Drove it all day wednesday with no issues. Thursday morning, it shuddered and died about 3 blocks from home. Again no warning lights, and car would not start. Had it towed to local service station where it was serviced on tuesday. While waiting for a tow, searched the internet for common dodge dart problems, and discovered that they burn through oil. Checked the oil and zero oil was registered on the dipstick, despite having just over 3k miles since last oil change. No signs of an oil leak. No warning lights or indicators of a problem. No issues with over heating. Mechanic is currently diagnosing the issue to determine a fix. This is a recurring problem with dodge darts if complaints on public forums are any indication. Reports of engines seizing due to burning through oil at an excessively high rate are common for this car whether the car has 9k miles, or 50k miles. It is incredibly dangerous for a car to run without oil, and posses a serious safety risk, especially if the electrical and diagnostic information is not recognizing the issue so that owners can address it in advance of engine seizure.
Vehicle stalls while driving, happens multiple times. Plenty of fuel and oil level is within operational standards.
When my car in the winter time warms up the fan doesn't work unless i open up my engine hood and it cools down now this can be anywhere from 2 minutes me running my car attendance doesn't matter when i turn on the air-conditioning it shakes my whole car i am told it is nothing i don't believe it my transmission when i press on the gas because very slow and jerks a whole car and emotion i told them about this since i had the car and my brakes on the first car that i had my brakes went out and it after i kept complaining about it for six weeks and then they traded me for the 2014 dodge dart my car has 22500 miles on it none of this should be happening when i take it to my dodge dealership they think that it's nothing in pretty much tell me i got what i paid for i'd like to know if there's been other complaints about the engine transmission and the brakes not to mention a whole lot of other things that i don't even want to go into it says below to put down a date i'm going to put down a date for this is just an ongoing thing always
Takata recallthis 2014 dodge dart aero has now had multiple problems with the clutch and axles.it is currently in the shop to have the slave cylinder for the clutch as well as the axles fixed for the second time in 2 years.they are also in the process of checking in to why the check engine light came on for the mass air flow sensor.this makes 2 times that it has gone to the shop for clutch and axle issues.they also don't know what the real problem is for the check engine light.i have asked them to buy the car back and they wont.they also stated that i may be having to pay some out of pocket to get my car fixed this time.this car is nothing but problems.like i mentioned before; twice for the clutch and axles, the engine light is on for a reason they don't know other that they think it is the mass air flow sensor, the third time i took it to dodge for an oil change they told me that no oil came out of the engine and then tried to explain to me that my engine was "known" to do that.now i have just gotten off the phone with the manufacturer customer service and they replied with they will cover all the costs except for $100.seems kind of odd to settle on that amount.plus they wont buy it back.therefore, this car is known to have clutch and engine problems and dodge expects me to drive around not having to worry about if my life is at risk.i should also mention that the tires that came on the car were faulty as well as i had to replace two of them already.the bands on the inside of the tire came loose and caused problems with the driving as well.this is junker car that i purchased new and dodge could care less that it is falling apart.
The car dies while driving. Check engine light goes on. Will start back up but just dies and code read doesn't explain why or what might be needed. Have replaced battery, thermostat even though never ran hot, and oil+filter. Has gas
It seems when it is cool outside when we crank our dodge dart that it sputters and sometimes dies in the middle of the highway sometimes failing to restart nobody can seem to tell me why it does this and i don't want a car i can't trust not to get my wife and kids hurt or killed
My car has been at dewey since july 23rd for a service transmission light. When i dropped my car off, it was plugged into the computer and i was told that the code that popped up was for a recall on a transmission module and once the service tech looked at it, i would receive a call regarding any costs and time of repair. As i was leaving on vacation for the week, i was not too concerned. Saturday 7/25 - i received a call that a part was on order and the car should be ready monday or tuesday. Again, as i was on vacation, i said that would be just fine. I started calling and texting my service advisor, trent, thursday (7/30) morning. I did not hear anything from him until saturday (8/1). He stated he forgot to call me but that there was a problem with my car. He said the module was replaced and when they went to start the car, there was no power. The electrical system is fried. He said that the lead tech would look at it monday and we would go from there. Tuesday 8/4 - i received a call from trent that the lead tech needed to reach out to chrysler for assistance. Friday 8/7 - received a call that chrysler was sending another module and it should be there monday. Monday 8/8 - we had the storm and i didn't hear anything which is understandable. Thursday 8/6 - received a call that the module did not work. Chrysler decided to send a whole new transmission. It will be here monday or tuesday and will know more by end of the week. Monday 8/10 - email sent to gm at dewey expressing concern. Spoke with him regarding trading in car or additional warranty on my car. Told no additional warranty will be given. Transfer to sales. Thursday 8/13 - told my car would be ready early next week. Wednesday 8/17 - called service again. Were told not sure that the new transmission even arrived. Will call back. Drive through the dealership and my car is just sitting outside in the lot.
Unable to get car in park to shut off the car, and get key out. This happened where ever i park. It even happened at the garage.
The motor has had an oil leak that started at 3000 miles and they have not been able to resolve.i am worried that this might lead to an enine fire.i have had it at the dealer several times for this problem and it keeps happening.with the powertrain the vehicle will not move then surges forward. This started around the 5000 mile mark and continues to happen.it acts like the clutch slips but i have had it in the shop several times and every time i am told nothing is wrong.this issue is dangerous when sitting in traffice or taking off from a dead stop becaue the car does not want to move at first and then when it does lunge forward it is not controlable how far it will actuall go.
2014 dodge dart purchased new. Was driving vehicle on city street and came to stop and car just stalled on me with no warning which was very scary. Vehicle would not stop stalling so took to dealership and the technician said it would cost at least a thousand to take car apart as they believe it is a internal engine problem. It sucks cause now my car is out of warranty and by doing some searching looks like this is not a new problem to dodge but nothing was ever done about it. My car is in great condition with only 60,000 miles.
Vehicle engine is dying at random in traffic- either while stopped or in motion at low speeds. Electricals remain on, but all driving power is lost. Vehicle does not immediately restart. Dealership believed the issue to be oil consumption, but vehicle continued to have the same issue after oil was changed and refilled.
Care starts overheating while the coolant is full and all other components are working. I have taken my vehicle to be repaired multiple times for the overheating and there is no sign of damage to be repaired. Also occasionally the oil seems to disappear from the engine with no leak or visible damage.. Car will occasionally stall out as well while i am driving. The car is in the shop and no one can tell me what is wrong with it. I have been driving 3 times and the car will turn off which is dangerous. The drive is extremely rough and is very uncomfortable it bangs really loud with any small bump. Car has a bunch of flaws and i have had it less than 2 years.
Car starting stalling/dying when driving in june 2016. Car was towed to the dealer (under warranty) the dealer replaced the battery. After 2 months the heater/ac stopped working and the car began stalling again. In november the car began stalling/dying while driving. The car is in motion when this happens. This is a serious safety hazard. The car dies leaving you with no power and stuck in traffic. It seems to happen during a turn on most occasions. I fear getting hit by another car when this happens. I have noticed several similar complaints with this. Why hasn't this been investigated. The average is 20,00-30,000 miles. Please do not wait until someone gets hurt or losses a life before an investigation on this car is made.
2 motor mounts and 1 transmission mount went bad.a rattling noise from the front of the motor.and the suspension is bad also.
In mid 2014, i was driving that year's model of a chevy dart, rented from enterprise while visiting friends in arizona. Along hwy 17, the engine had shut off briefly. The interior electrical was still on, but power steering and brakes were gone. The exterior lights shut off, but i remember the cabin still had power because i quickly turned on the hazards. I believe it was a plastic turn-key, and it being reignited, that allowed me to regain control. It was a steep, windy road. It was about 10 at night and there was a lot of darkness without headlights.there was a big rig in the next lane in front of me, and heavy vehicles to the rear. It was definitely a close call.
Crossing a busy road to the middle turn lane my 2014 dodge dart stalled out and had a complete loss of power, leaving me in the middle of the road and i was almost tboned. I was quickly able to start the vehicle again to get into the middle turn lane where the car stalled out again. After several attempts i was able to start the car and turn around to head back home and off the road. While driving 100ft the car was still jerking as it was about to stall yet again. I get the car home and leave it parked to call the dealership. The only thing they kept asking me about or were concerned about was my oil and if i had been doing my oil changes. So, they obviously were aware of this issue with the engine failure and the oil. I told the dealership that i have complete documentation of every oil change having been done on time, every time and that i wasn't even due for my next oil change. The service department of the dealership still suggested i check my oil level. I check my oil and it's so low that nothing is on the dip stick, my engine was dry of oil without my oil pressure sensor ever having gone off and zero oil in my driveway. I called immediately and had the car towed to the dealership as it's a very dangerous problem and still under the powertrain warranty. The next day the dealership calls me to inform me that the information i have them was correct that there was no oil in my car, no oil leaks and no residue of oil to be found! they then proceeded to tell me that they've filled it with oil and i'm required to continue driving this dangerous vehicle that already almost had me tboned for another 1,000 miles to do an oil consumption test before chrysler will possibly approve me for a new motor that is still covered under the powertrain warranty. I was also told that they are aware of the issue of the motor just burning the oil in this car and that it's dangerous.
Car is burning oil causing it to stall.
Purchased the dodge dart rallye in july 2014.dec 2014 the engine blew because of oil sludge in the engine.the dealership replaced the engine.the car was in the shop for 30+ days.feb 2014 the car would not start.after several attempts a loud noise and white puff of smoke came from the engine and the car started.drove it directly to the dealership.they looked at it and said nothing was wrong it could of been condensation.a month later the electric inside the car wasn't working. I took the car backand they said nothing was wrong.i also brought the car back because the engine was very loud and it was very difficult to shift into gear.they said the tires needed to be replaced and that is what was causing the loud noise.i replaced the tires and still had the loud noise and difficultly shifting.each time i went to the dealership with these problems they made me feel stupid.then on the evening of nov 29, 2015 with my 3 kids in the car, the transmission blew up.clutch went to the floor extremely loud noises, metal pieces shooting out everywhere.i pulled over and shut the engine and we ran for our lives.there was liquid all over the road.huge white puff of smoke covered the entire block.metal bolts and pieces everywhere.we towed it to the dealership.then on tues the service mgr called me and said it is not covered under warranty because it was caused by driver error.said i was driving the car rough or someone was.. I am the only one who drives my car.i am a mother of 3 in my 40's and use my car for clients when showing houses.i have no idea what he means by rough driving.i asked him to explain and he said i don't know popping the clutch??? not knowing how to drive a manual.which i learned on one and had one ever since.they refuse to pay for rental car and refuse to fix the car.the car also has body damage from the shooting bolts.
Car stalls without warning in all sorts of scenarios, just started, turning, stopping, up hill or down hill.multiple inquiries with chrysler corporate and dealerships resulted in them telling me the car is engineered to allow 1qt of oil burned every 750 miles, per spec sheet i had to firmly demand to be able to see it.was basically told there is no problem that my car dies in the middle of an intersection with my family in it, thereby the potential for a major catastrophic deadly situation is there.chyrsler corporate cases were closed with no resolution and they nearly made me pay for the inquiry. This is all apparently hidden in the chrysler tsb - 09-001-12.my car had 25,000 miles and was needing about 7-8 quarts between oil changes according to the car's built in oil life meter which is intended to be used.
"engine stalls out and completely dies". This has happened to me several times already with my six year old in the car. I haven't taken it to the dealership twice already and this will be the third final attempt for repair. I've brought a new battery even after it passed successful testing, and the alternator passed as well. The first time it stopped on me i was on the highway (had the car toll to the nearest autozone for a new battery) had the dealership look at it they stated they could not diagnose the problem since the vehicle was working and could not find anything wrong with the car, 2nd time it stopped two days later on the interstate had the car(this time i had it toll to the dealership) and they put in the work order what i stated did nothing to the engine and only completed the recall on the brakes. The third time it stopped on me while driving was on the highway oct. 2017 had to get a jump and he kept stalling out before it completely stopped this time i contacted dodge roadside assistance to toll me to the nearest dealership for documentation. I have open a case with chrysler corporation and feel like i'm getting no where, and the dealership has not even bother to contact me. I'm going through all of this when the car is only 3 years old with 48,000 miles still covered under warranty. All the times i vehicle has stopped on me on dark roads, in traffic, on the instate my daughter has been in the car with me. This car is a danger to me, my, family, and anyone else on the road if i drive this car. For now it continues to be at the dealership while i drive the loaner car they gave me. But i'm still having to make car payments on a vehicle i'm not even driving.
The contact stated that the engine oil was depletingprematurely. The dealer stated that the engine motor failed. The dealer stated that the motor may need to be rebuilt. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000.
That vehicle just shuts off has i'm driving
The entire car is shaking. The car is rough idling. I had my foot all the way on the gas and it wouldn't go above10 miles per hour. This happened before and the dealership fixed it and said the cylinders were misfiring
My vehicle has stopped on two occasions while i was driving it. This is very dangerous and is an obvious safety concern. When i pulled out the oil stick there was absolutely no oil. This happened the second time as well. I took it into the dealership and did an oil consumption test. The oil went down about half a quart in 1000 miles. They sent me away and said that this was acceptable.the engine only holds about four quarts this is ridiculous and i will never make it into my next oil change without the car shutting off. The car shuts off due to a safety reaction to stop the engine from being damaged due to low oil. I have not made it to my oil change since i have been refilling the oil. Dodge's guidelines say it is "acceptable" for the 2.4 engine to burn 1 quart every 750 miles. That is all the engine oil in the engine since it only holds 4 quarts every 3,000 miles. My oil change won't be due any time close to then. Please do something about this. There are countless complains and threads of citizens with this safety concern. I am worried of when the car will stop on me again.
I take mi car to the dealer wen i first buy new more than 15 times and they found nothing and this car it's continue with problems in normal daily drive. Idle problems in the engine suspension noise transmission shifting not normal in drive position tires wear to fast exhaust smell fuel to strong in engine cool temp all this happen in stationary and driving in motion and normal drive is happen all the time
My 2014 dodge dart loses oil. The oil indicator light does not work. However the oilis not leaking on the ground and once there is no oil at all in the vehicle, it shuts off while driving. This happens upon taking off. The car has to put in neutral in order to start.
The car stalls while driving and does not restart immediately. The dealer changes my oil every 5,000 miles. It appears to stall every 3-4,000 miles. The solution for the dealer now is to bring my car in every 1,000 miles. This seems excessive and is not a solution to this dangerous problem? sometimes the engine turns off when i'm in traffic or traveling on a busy street. This has been happening since i purchased the car new in 2014. It's only been serviced by the dealer.
Sudden stalling at any speed, been to towbin dodge in henderson nevada, they say they all do that when it needs an oil change, so i asked them, there is only 500 miles since u guys just changed it, they hooked up a scanner and said no codes cars fine.i said it shuts off for no reason, the steering gets super stiff when the car dies, and it's a push button start system, then it makes a funny noise, after a few attempts it will start up and be fine for a week or so, sometimes it stalks 2 to 3 times in a mile.i've been reading about the dodge dart with thev2.4 ltr engine stalls for no reason, this is a huge safety issue. The dealer still insists it's an oil change timer in the computer that gets you to change the oil.i strongly disagree with that reasoning to stall the car out on the freeway or intersection because it needs an oil change.
Takata recall , when i got the car form the dealership till now i put a bit over seven thousand miles on a very new2014 dodge dart gt besides the occasional clutch getting stuck when i engaged it forcing me to have to pick it up with my toei had no problems with the car no stalling or rough shifts until last night when i lost all controlwhile on the highway causing me to have to quickly swerve of the road or be hit by the vehicle behind me .engine which still run and can accelerate the car will not more in any gear 1-6 or even reverse and even though this is a constant problem on lots odd dodge darts that have been recalled they said my vin doesn't fall under there recall dates.
Following the purchase of the 2014 dodge dart (aero), i noticed that there are no oil pressure and no coolant temperature gauges.in the excitement of a new car purchase, i didn't notice these initially.to me this is unacceptable. Chrysler corp has advised me that there would be a "red light" indication if coolant temperature or oil pressure were low.if i were driving across the arizona desert or in sub-zero temperatures and this were to happen, this could put my life as well as my passengers' lives in jeopardy.these vehicles need to be recalled and the appropriate gauges (oil pressure and coolant temperature) installed at dealer expense.
I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden i received a message that stated blind spot alert temporarily unavailable and my blind-spot detector lights will not turn off
Driving down the road went to turn left and the car said blinker out so turned off blinkerpulled in the drive way and turned blinker back on and smoke was coming from the tail light opened the trunk and it was engulfed inflames.
The left headlight keeps going out. The bulb has been replaced numerous times and sensors have been checked. The wiring was just worked on and the bulb replaced once again. A month later the headlight is again not working.
Only had car two years sunday dash boards starts flicking on and off disconnected my uconnect. On monday my throttle light and engine line came on on tuesday it was off. Now car will only start with a jump sitting in carlot 4 dodges being serviced for electric computer problems. Now none of my lights on battery is good but car won't start. A recall needs to be checked asap.
Issue began to occur where car will lose acceleration and must be turned off in order to work again. It has happened about six times now where the car must be pulled to the side of the road (if possible) and restarted. During restart, the engine hesitates/sputters for about 5 seconds before returning to seemingly normal operation. At no other time does the car act like this. Normally it will have no problems starting up. Just last night, i went to leave and was unable to take the car out of park. After a quick search i found that the car may have a loose or bad shifting cable. Another issue that seems to be reoccurring in these cars. My 14 gt has 64k miles and has always recieved routine maintenance.
I need to get my shifter cable bushing replaced and my thermostat housing is messing up constantly
I don't know what to do with the vehicle. It's given me problems since i first bought it. The first time i had a problem with this vehicle was a month after i purchased it from the dealership. I was driving it, and it suddenly turned off and all of the lights on the dashboard turned on. Now it does it frequently. The last time was literally this 3rd of october.the dealership mechanics supposedly said it happens because the oil is low on the car, that the car's system shuts off to protect the vehicle from damage to the motor, due to low oil. It seems ridiculous that chrysler is willing to risk their buyers with such a fault systems. All the dealer said was that it was normal and nothing to worry about. However, when this has happened to me it has been when the oil life is at no less than 58%. It is very unsafe to drive this vehicle. I can crash at any moment. And the motor just burns through oil like crazy. My mechanic checked it after maybe three weeks of an oil change and it was completely out of oil already. It seems like
I pull out in front of car don't know if car is going to or lag. Eats oil
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train) and stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. Dave dennis dodge/jeep/chrysler (4232 colonel glenn hwy, dayton, oh 45431) confirmed that parts were not available to perform the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts no available.
I pulled up into my driveway, i started to put my car in park, and it would not go in to park. It felt like the entire shifter was broken or loose, as it would freely move up and down without actively putting the car in park, neutral, reverse or drive. I could not pull my key out, i had no other option, but to pull the emergency brake, and unplug my battery.i finally figured out how to pull the key out of the fob, so that i didn't have to leave my keys in the car. This was in mid to late april. I went online to see if i could troubleshoot and found out that there was a recall on the shifter cable bushing, which is exactly what was missing from my car. I observed the shifter cable was no longer attached, and that is why the vehicle could not be shifted into any gears. It is now july 18th, and i still have not been able to use my vehicle. No one can fix it, due to the part not being available. The manufacturer recall number is v34, and the nhtsa recall number is 19v-293. The recall started april 11th 2019 and i have yet to see anything from dodge. I have been put on a list to be made aware when a part is available, but now i am getting upset because i can no longer sustain not having a working car, especially one that i pay for every month.
After tcm replacement that was under recall, tcm is still failing causing vehicle to not shift into gear.several attempts have been made to correct the issue with dodge, however they refuse to do anything to remedy the problem
Driver's side rear wheel bearing shot after 39,000 miles.loud humming noise when driving on the highway at first.i drove on it for a couple weeks and the noise got louder.i jacked the car up one day and the wheel wiggled a pretty significant amount.replaced both rear bearings in my driveway after calling the dealership and having them tell me the parts were not going to be covered under warranty.
When i put my car in park and turn the key left to turn off car, it won't let me. So i have to restart my car move the gears from park to another and then back to park, wait for the click noise and then turn my car off.
Car will not go into park when trying to park. Car says not i. Park and will not turn off
Dodge dart uses 1quart of oil 1,000 miles #2 does not shift in corect gear #3 rubbing in the frount end when stearing.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving approximately 50 mph, the transmission erroneously switched to the neutral position before the vehicle shut off. After restarting the vehicle, the check engine indicator remained illuminated. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (cowboys chrysler in shelby, texas) was notified of the failure, but the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 71,000.
Car often shudders and jerks when shifting gear from park. Often times it will not shift gear and presents a message saying 'shift to neutral and then shift to drive or reserve.' this message comes up when in park or sometimes when stopped at a light. Such as stopped at a light. Sometimes when it presents this messages, even after shifting to neutral several times, it will still not move afterwards while in drive or reverse.
I pull out in front of car don't know if car is going to or lag. Eats oil
2014 dodge dart aero approx. 59700 miles, automatic transmissiontransmission will shift into neutral.large clicking noise from left under hood.at times will loose gear, specific to first and reverse.burning smell. Can reset, with a standard obdii but will not last long.this is not a recall vin but this car is very unsafe to drive with its constant transmission shifting, loss of power and potential road hazard.there needs to be an immediate recall based on potential life threatening accident.
In short i paid out of pocket and submitted work order and paid receipt three times. Repair was done in june and they said they'd get back to me in august.all i'm getting is run around, i've been more than patient.. Thank you
I got a recall letter on my vehicle a few years ago regarding the a powertrain issue, an issue with the transmission control module and mounting bracket. I am sure i took my vehicle in for repairs. The car is now shifting itself into neutral while i am driving, and the only way to get it to drive again is to shift it into reverse, then neutral and back into drive, you can see how this would be a problem when driving on the freeway. I have checked the recall information on vehicle and it says it has been repaired, but the issues is still very present. It always happens when driving, it will sometimes happen as soon as i pull the car out of park.
While driving the vehicle the car tries to shift to neutral.it seems to be a problem with the tcm. There is a recall for the tcm but it does not cover my vin number.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While parking, the vehicle failed to shift into park. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the gear shift cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. I purchased my vehicle in july of 2014. In march of 2017, i was driving home from a trip out of town, when the vehicle lost the means to accelerate. The car would only rev, and not engage in any gear. I coasted into a gas station, where i had to wait for a tow truck to transport the car to the dealer. I was informed that the clutch master cylinder, reservoir, and clutch kit all had to be replaced, to the tune of > $2000. I escalated to fca under the x62 tsb, and my repairs, and a rental were provided. Now yesterday, 9/9/19 at 9:00am, my clutch is coming disengaged while accelerating, in all 6 gears, 15-65 mph and i drove it straight to the dealer. I was informed that the warranty period on the previous repair expired 4 months ago. I was also informed that the parts which failed previously were replaced with original parts, which would lead to additional failure. In doing my own research, the 2014 dodge dart manual transmissions are equipped with a clutch delay valve. The intention of the cdv is to help inexperienced drivers, but in reality is makes launching jerky, quick shifting difficult, and premature clutch wear a real possibility.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that the gear shifter failed. The gear shifter light illuminated in red, causing the vehicle to jerk. The engine light also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a failure code was located at the transmission control module. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 13,000. Updated 02/05/16*ljthe consumer stated the control module on the transmission was replaced. Updated 02/16/16
For over 2 years my dodge dart 2014 bought brand new off a car lot has been having problems with the transmission. Multiple times while driving it would shift into 1 st gear and readline the rpm tach meter and would not shift back up to its proper gear. I have to reset the battery after disconnecting it for 15mins and then sometimes it will continue to operate properly. This has been going on for over 2 years. My car has less than 40,000 miles on. Dodge is just now doing recalls for this problem which is related to the trasmission bushing cable. Just now after its been happening for over 2 years they are trying to offer recalls. I still have yet to be notified officially regarding this matter thru the mail or a phone call, email even. I had to call corporate to ask. Corporate told me something would come in the mail near the end of august. Its the end of august now and still nothing. Then they said to contact local dodge dealerships and inquire about parts if they had any in stock. They didn't. I don't even drive the car because of this issue. Dodge needs to compensate me back in full and buy back the car or be sued and shut down and no longer allowed to manufacture these pieces of [xxx]. This is insanity. I will never buy another american brand car ever again. Also the gas cap fell off the car and the electronic motor is stripped or defective. Every time i press the button on the driver side of the door to open the gas cap to refill it makes a loud noise for the entire duration of holding down the button. Dodge said there is no recall on that. The front windows also fog up for no reason when its colder. I'm talking about on the inside of the car. Shoddy craftsmenship and should be sued. The contact owns a 2015 dodge dart. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to respond with the accelerator pedal depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the rpm revved up however, the vehicle seemed as if it was in neutral. The contact coasted to the shoulder of the roadway, turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the clutch and flywheel failed and needed to be replaced. Hillview motors (5309 u.s. 30 e, greensburg, pa 15601, (724) 858-4809) was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vin was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train) was referenced a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not available to perform a vin search. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
Bushing recall april 2019.car unable to drive, stuck in gear august 19, 2019. No parts available according to any dodge dealers within a 50 mile radius.unable to drive , the car is a lemon nothing more than a yard ornament.need transportation for work, no public transportation in rural south, unacceptable from manufacture. If manufacture can't fix, they should provide free rentals until car can be fixed.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving approximately 10 mph, the clutch became stuck in the downward position and the gear shifter was stuck in first gear. The contact had to depress the clutch completely down to the floorboard to loosen the clutch, followed by aggressively pulling the gear shifter to get it out of first position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
Purchased a 2014 dodge dart used with a 6 speed.this incident happened just three weeks after i purchased it. I noticed it started to slip and while driving down the highway i heard a noise, car lost power and smoke started pouring out from under the hood.i had it towed to the dealership where i was informed that something failed in the clutch, blowing a hole through the transmission.this all happened within a minute or so while driving at highway speeds.
Would not start for about 10 minutes, then started and ran fine. On the way to the mechanic, transmission went into neutral on the highway. Luckily i was near an exit, i had to coast off the highway. The transmission shop and an auto electric shop told me the tcm and the valve body inside the transmission were faulty and needed replacing. The transmission shop told me they called chrysler and were told they were aware of the problem and that it was a program issue and replacing the transmission would fix nothing. Then chrysler told them if they figure it out, to let them know.
I pulled in parking lot and went to put the car in park, engine light came on, all the gear letters turned red and it didn't display, by the fuel gauge, which gear i was in like it usually does. I didn't actually know if i was in park because all lights on shifter were lit in red. When i tried to shift up to park as much as i could it made a clicking noise each time. So i turned the car off...and then back on. Happened again a week later. I took it to have computer analysis run on it. Indicated a fault in the transmission range sensor electrical circuit. Checked recall on vehicle. Shows there is a recall on transmission problems possible on dodge darts 2013-2015 models.
It started back in april. My car wouldn't go into reverse. It started flashing the r on the dash then next to the gear shift. I took it into the shop. It then started not going into reverse or drive. Not only would the lights flash at me but it would say place vehicle into neutral then drive or reverse. It ended up towed once because t wouldn't go anywhere. The service engine light popped up. It said all my gears were not found. It has been in and out of the shop 7 times for this same reason. It won't reverse and/or won't go into drive. The gear shift also popped into park going down the interstate. Most recently i had a collision where it was suppose to be in reverse and ended up going forward and hitting a parked vehicle. My vehicle is still not fixed and i owe money on it. My brakes haven't been working correctly and i know they are still good because my mechanic dad and boyfriend have checked them. The cruise will go off randomly and the touch screen goes white, black and back on. There is an open recall with no remedy. I do not feel like this is the cause. Also, i am having problems getting the ignition to release my key. Dodge hired an investigator. It took my car being hit before they decided to take action. I feel like i'm driving a death trap that i can't get out of and usually have one to 3 kids in my car. I'd rather not have a serious accident because this car is a piece of (xxx).
P0706 tcm issue automatic transmission going into limp mode won't go into drive sometimes.
The clutch pedal would stick to the floor in cold weather.would easily stall because of poor engagement.sometimes the car would buck or stutter because the clutch would not be able to effectively engage.sometimes the vehicle would stall on engagement and have to sit for several minutes before the engine would start. After an attempted repair to the clutch hydraulics by corwin the clutch still has slop in it and poor worksmanship was found at another dealer. The transmission is now noisy and makes loud clunking or whining noises when the clutch is engaged or disengaged. The clutch will still partially stick to the floor in severe cold and is not safe to drive.
The entire car is shaking. The car is rough idling. I had my foot all the way on the gas and it wouldn't go above10 miles per hour. This happened before and the dealership fixed it and said the cylinders were misfiring
I was driving to work and not even a mile from my house when i was coming to a stop at a stop sign my 2014 dodge dart sxt stalled. When it stalled the battery light came on and i shut it off. I was able to get it to start the next try. Then 7 days later, i was driving no more than 30 seconds when i was coming to a stop at another stop sign and the car stalled again with the battery light coming on. I tried to start it again a few times but was not successful. I needed a jump. I drove it straight to a mechanic who ran a few tests on the car including checking the battery and charging system. He said everything looked good which i figured since i just changed the battery a year ago. I drove it home. 2 days later i was two blocks from my house when it stalled for a third time (mind you this has never happened before these occurrences). Again, i was coming to a stop and the car stalled, the battery light came on, and i needed to have a jump since i couldn't get it to start. After researching a bit, this seems to be a very common issue. A few people said that changing the oil or adding more did the trick so i checked my oil and it was fine plus i changed the oil 3 months ago so it isn't that. Most cases mentioned that this started to occur around the 50,000 mile mark, which is about where mine is. There really should be a recall on this car ' it's a death trap! when the car stalls the power steering goes out as well so if this happened on the highway it would be very dangerous. This issue could really hurt someone and dodge really needs to do something about it or find a solution. I took my car to the dealership in jenkintown, pa to get looked at and was informed of a few recalls but none that had to do with my issues. The fact that this is clearly a common issue is very concerning especially since there seems to be no clear solution.
2014 dodge dart. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle transmission control module malfunction.the consumer received a recall notice regarding the transmission control module. The consumer stated he experienced an issue when shifting from drive to neutral, even before the recall was announced. The consumer was informed the part was not available.
The clutch pedal began occasionally sticking, sometimes all the way in to the floor, other times halfway and made it difficult to shift.after taking it to the dealer they diagnosed the problem as a known issue with the clutch master cylinder.the issue quickly deteriorated, where it was happening all of the time.now when i start the car with the clutch in, the safety allows me to start the car, but the car immediately begins to move as if the clutch is not depressed if started in first gear, and then i cannot shift into neutral and need to either be ready to go or shut the engine off so as not to cause an accident.there are no replacement parts available in the marketplace and this is a very dangerous situation to have the car being to move as soon as it is started and not be able to shift back into neutral.i fear there will be several accidents caused by this for anyone not fully aware when starting their car.
I take mi car to the dealer wen i first buy new more than 15 times and they found nothing and this car it's continue with problems in normal daily drive. Idle problems in the engine suspension noise transmission shifting not normal in drive position tires wear to fast exhaust smell fuel to strong in engine cool temp all this happen in stationary and driving in motion and normal drive is happen all the time
Car not runningproperly or even functioning due to an issue with the body control module. Running rough, screen to gps blacking out. No ability to even turn the heat off/on when malfunctioning. These are all things that occur either when idling or the car is in motion.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that while attempting to park, the transmission independently switch to the park position. The contact was unable to immediately turn the vehicle off or remove the key from the ignition once the vehicle was turned off. Upon inspection, the contact became aware that the shifter cable was detached from the transmission. The cause of the failure was not determined. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
It became more consistent in 2017, my car would stall driving it anywhere from 25 mph -75 mph, some days the steering wheel would lock and the car would turn off and i'd have to wait until it was ready to be back on, just recently multiple times i have had my car turn completely off going 75mph, the dashboard turns off the steering wheel locks and the car shuts off, some times it turns off for not even a minute before it turns back on. Other times i've put my car on cruise control and it's turned off minutes after being set. Was told to change the oil more often which i did at maximum of 3000 miles, on a 2014?! this time (its been several several times already) my car turned off and wouldn't turn back on, tried jump starting it for almost 3 hours and it did nothing to the car, the car didn't budge. The dashboard would flicker on and off and all the switches would go crazy including my windshield wipers that weren't event on in the first place. Used a car battery charger to see if it helped at all, 12 hours later still nothing. I have a two year old and this car is way to dangerous for me to feel safe in!!
"the basic of the issue are shifting roughly, over-revving before shifting, failing to shift, making a grinding noise on take off, running rough, exhibiting a burning smell, smoking and overheating."dash light comes on randomly when in traffic on my commute home from work "transmission getting hot press brake"and the car will start to smoke.
While driving i began stopping at a stop sign the car lost power /stalled. The radio /dash board remained on . No lights to indicate there was a problem came on ...it took three tries before the car would start. I took it to the dealership where they told me there is nothing they can do. This is the first time it happened to me i bought the car used in august 2015 and it is now november 2015 it has about 21000 miles on it
Takata recall , when i got the car form the dealership till now i put a bit over seven thousand miles on a very new2014 dodge dart gt besides the occasional clutch getting stuck when i engaged it forcing me to have to pick it up with my toei had no problems with the car no stalling or rough shifts until last night when i lost all controlwhile on the highway causing me to have to quickly swerve of the road or be hit by the vehicle behind me .engine which still run and can accelerate the car will not more in any gear 1-6 or even reverse and even though this is a constant problem on lots odd dodge darts that have been recalled they said my vin doesn't fall under there recall dates.
I have been having difficulty shifting gears after the car has warmed up. This has been going on for about 2 months now.it has gotten so bad this past week that it almost left me stranded 40 miles from home when i had stopped for fuel. I had put it in neutral with the emergency break on, and it just would not go into any gear when i tried to leave.after cooling for about 20 minutes, i finally managed to catch a gear and go. Sometimes,it will slip out of first or second gear into neutral, while in motion. This morning my husband attempted to move it into the garage due to a storm approaching and he could not get it into any gear and the clutch stuck to the floor. We have not driven it since yesterday, so it wasn't even warm. My husband and i pushed it into the garage.
My car doesn't seem to shift properly. It runs rough loses power then smell of something burning.while in motion car loses power n shifts late. When at a stop in drive thru put in park begins to idle n get hot.
2014 dodge dart recallunable to shift gears. Chrysler advised that the remedy date is 8/8/2019. Too long to be without a car. They state they will reimburse rental but not pay upfront for one. This is too long to be without my only vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unintentionally shifted into neutral. The vehicle was taken to premier chrysler dodge jeep ram of buena park (7301 artesia blvd, buena park, ca 90621), and was diagnosed that the transmission control module and mounting bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number 15v542000 (power train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the recall was for vehicles in canada, not the united states. The failure mileage was approximately 57,416.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact discovered that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). The contact took the vehicle to bill luke chrysler jeep dodge ram (2425 w camelback rd, phoenix, az 85015, 602-249-1234) and was informed that the part was not available. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While attempting to park the vehicle, it failed to shift into park. The contact called clay cooley chrysler dodge (1261 e airport fwy, irving, tx 75062) and was advised to tow the vehicle to their facility. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Two days later, the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that theshifter fractured and needed replacement. The contact also received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train), but parts were not available to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
My vehicle has a manual transmission, a couple of weeks ago without any warning while i was driving on the highway doing about 60-65 miles per hour, my clutch dropped to the floor and i started smelling my clutch burning. I did not have my foot on the clutch because i was already in sixth gear on the highway. My engine started bogging down and luckily i was near an off ramp and was able to safely get off the highway. I wasn't able to shift into any gear, my engine wouldn't even stay on it kept stalling. Its been almost three weeks now and no one is giving my any answers as to what is going on, all i am being told is that the failure was due to my driving. My car has a little over 43,000 miles, nothing more and my clutch is now in pieces. Some of my clutch is permanently on my flywheel now. I have been driving a manual transmission for over nine years and had driven several vehicles and have never burnt out my clutch. My warranty through car max will not cover it, no one wants to even look at my issue because all they hear is clutch failure and its automatically my fault.
Clutch pedal will stick on the floor not allowing me to put the car in gear, change gears, or pull out of gear to stop without pushing through the brakes. It happens in the morning especially after sitting all night. Also, i have experienced it on the highway during a long trip while staying in gear for a few hours.
The car will startle when shifting gears until one day it just stopped responding whenever i stepped on the accelerator. It will only drive no more than 5 miles an hour, making horrible noises and smelling burnt. I had to stop and pull to the side as i was driving.iit was so scary because i had my daughter with me and was in a high traffic street.
Transmission overheating
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart.-the vehicle did not engage in drive.-had to turn vehicle off/on several times. -power train.-the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa recall number: 19v293000 ( power train ), and already was experiencing the failure. After driving the vehicle for more than 15 or 20 minutes, when accelerating from a stop the vehicle shifts erratically causing the vehicle to jolt and occasionally stall.it feels as if the vehicle is trying to downshift before returning to the appropriate gear.proceeding forward or turning makes no difference.i contacted the dealer about this over a year ago and was told the oil needed to be changed.i contacted the dealer again this week after seeing that the vehicle was potentially part of a national recall but was told i could bring the vehicle in to service but it was not part of the recall (the make, model and date of manufacture match the recall data but since the vin isn't specifically listed as being recalled on the safecar.gov web site it was not covered).this has been occurring since approximately 6 months after purchasing the vehicle and continues until this day.
The vehicle has a manual transmission.my vehicle revs when attempting to shift it.the clutch will be completely up and the vehicle will still rev as if it is engaged. At this point there is nothing that can be done until it stops revving.it also grinds and clatters when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear.very rough shifting and sometimes experience a burning smell after its driven.
Vehicle sometimes will not shift into park. I have to repeatedly shift and restart when stationary.

While driving my 2014 dodge dart, the clutch dropped completely to the floor board in between shifting from second to third gear making shifting impossible, while i was driving up a 2 lane hill in my neighborhood. There was no shoulder to pull over to at the moment the clutch dropped, causing me to have to reach down and grab it with my left hand. I was unable to re engage the clutch, thus stayed in second gear until i reached the top of the hill where a shoulder became available. I gently used the brake to slow the car down while in the shoulder until the care stalled out. After sitting in the care for several minutes i tried to start my car but was unable to because of the clutch resting on the floor board, i was able to pull it up with my hand and upon release it would fall back to the floor board. After several more minutes the clutch seemed to correct itself, letting me stat my car and resume my trip home, approximately 1 mile further. While continuing my trip, the clutch seemed to loose "pressure" and had to press the clutch completely to the floor board in order to shift.this is the second time this issue has com up, the first time being repaired in july 2015.
My vehicle unexpectedly loses power while driving as if it has shifted into neutral. This typically happens on city streets before i make it to the highway. It usually happens as i'm slowing down. My local dealership told me it was a battery problem in sept. 2017 and i paid over $600 to haven them replace the battery, which resolved the issue until now. There is a recall r42 for this very issue, however it doesn't apply to my vin number. The description of the recall fits exactly what i am experiencing.

Loud humming from the front wheel while making a long turn on the highway to the right. Brought it into the dealer of purchase, they found out it was the rear wheel bearing, a day later i'm still experiencing the same issues with improved sound reduction from the rear, so the rear was fixed now i'm having the front wheel bearing replaced.
Car spontaneously stalled in highway driving.seems to be a known issue.2013 darts were actually recalled over the issue.incredibly dangerous.dodge should be required to recall the 2014s just like they recalled the 2013s.
Upon first driving every time it deceleration and it a complete stop the car shifts into neutral and powers down. This has happened ten days in a row.
I allowed my car to warm up at home for 10-15 mins and then went a mile to return something to the store left my car running until i got back and i went to put it in drive and it wouldn't go anywhere, so it told me to put it in nuterul and then put it back in drive and so i did just that and it still wasn't going anywhere. So i continued to try and put it in drive until it told me to service the transmission and so after about 10 mins it finally went into drive and so i started to leave and it wouldn't get out of first gear the whole way for 7 miles and so i called the dodge dealership and they told me to bring it in and so i drove 8 more miles to get my dodge dart areo looked at and they said that when the cars are cold the cars computer won't register the cars transmission's codes and said it was fine now but i personally don't believe it.
Went to shift from park into reverse and it didn't shift. Dash said r. Tapped the gas and still it didn't go. Tried 4 times from park to reverse before auto transmission caught with a bang. First time it happened around 16k+ miles it's happen two mornings now.

Parked in my driveway, i started the car reversed out of the drive way and the gear shifter is now stuck in reverse, all i can do is apply my emergency brake because i can't shift the gear up or down therefore i can't remove my ignition key either. Had to have it towed to dealer

Silver billet paint has black specs in it two dealerships says bad factory paint job. Back up camera becomes fuzzy or just goes out. Seats on my gt fade .
Interior electrical problems from day 1. Random electrical components shut off and restart all the time. Also brakes became harder and harder to use, until they stopped working altogether in traffic, but started working again after collision
Brake pedal is hard, making it difficult to stop. When pressed the pedal makes a hissing sound.the dart was produced in february of 2014 one month after the end of the other brake recall.
The parking brake is inoperable. The emergency brake mechanism in the rear calipers has become seized and pulling the e-brake lever will not engage the emergency brakes, which allows the vehicle to roll freely. Prior model year (2013) already have an active recall for this issue, however newer model years (2014-2016) do not.

Pressed break pedal to place shift vehicle into drive. While pressing pedal, i heard an audible popping noise and felt a spring like vibration through the break pedal. After the noise the car slowly started to roll forward despite break being pressed. Now when pressing the break, there is a hard pressure/resistance along with a loud hissing noise. To attempt to stop the vehicle, the break pedal has to be pressed extremely hard.the breaks are unable to stop the car in a safe distance.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph when approaching a stop sign, the brakes hesitated to respond without warning. In october of 2015, i was driving in the 105 highway & as i stepped on the brakes to slow down due to traffic, the brakes made a high pitched sound like an air leaking. We did not get the vehicle checked right away because i had only had my vehicle for a little over a year and it was new. By december we decided to have our brakes checked by my uncle due to the fact that i had to add more pressure to the brakes, and the noise were more continuous. After it was checked, my uncle said the brakes were still brand new and had no damage whatsoever. By january of 2016, we received our first safety recall notice regarding all dodge darts of years 2013 and 2014. I contacted my dealer to make an appointment to have the vehicle repaired but i was told they would send a letter whenever they had the appropiate parts ready. By march of 2016, i contacted the dealer again and told me the same thing. As of today, may 12, 2016, i have received another safety recall notice and no letter or notice from my dealer. The vehicle is still making the noise and we still have to add pressure to the brakes.
The brake pedal sinks in and increases the braking distance. It happened every once in a while but recently it started happeningmore often and has gotten worse. The brake sinks in completely now and it does notbrake unless u release it and push down again.
Excessive rotor wear and disintegration on rear rotors
Was traveling to work on the highway at approx 65 mph when i felt a vibration in my new car.over a short period of time the vibration grew to a very concerning level.i thought i may have a flat tire. I slowed down and was looking for a safe place to pull over. Within approx. 1 mile i was able to exit off the highway and as i did the left/front wheel came off the car and rolled down the street .the car was towed by aaa to a repair shop who found the other three wheel's lug bolts to be torqued to 40lbs.the book states the lug bolts need to be torqued to 92lbs. The wheels were never properly tightened from the factory and were not checked by the dealer as per the pre delivery inspection.i could have been killed because of this negligence. I have contacted dodge customer relations and have not received any satisfaction.this vehicle is not safe to drive.

When driving and applying the brakes they will sometimes go soft i will have to reapply them for the brakes to go back to normal. I know there is a recall for this problem but my car is not included. I don't think i should have to pay for a problem that dodge knows exists. What can i do to get my car added to the recall?
This vehicle have had two occasions of master cylinder brake fluid loss and unexplained totall engine oil evaporation without warning that caused the loss of power while driving. Luckily it happened in city, not highway.

Chrylser recall r63 ... The car was involved in an accident due to the braking issue
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving approximately 65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning. The contact was able to stop using the emergency brake as the anti skid warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake switch needed to be replaced again and the proxy needed to be aligned. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000.
The car has excessive rotor wear and intermittent braking issues. The dealer service center doesn't seem over concerned or suggest it might be covered under our premium extended warranty. The problem was noticed early in july and the vehicle is currently in the shop for other repairs. My wife states that the car sometimes has trouble stopping, and has to push the brakes harder to bring it to a stop when the braking problem occurs.
While gaining acceleration onto the freeway, i was forced to make a sudden stop.i had plenty of room to stop safely and was not traveling at a high rate of speed.i depressed the brake pedal and the car did not stop in time to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front of me. There were not brake marks on the road and it felt as if my vehicle hit the one in front of me at full speed.i believe the brakes completely failed me and the accident would have been avoided if the brakes had done what they were supposed to.oklahoma city, ok interstate 40 and mcarthur.
Car is experiencing a fluctuating brake pedal.at times, i will have to depress the brake down to the floor to get the vehicle to stop properly.other times... It is fine and normal pedal pressure is present.fluid level is fine.it is a bit disconcerting when you go to hit the brakes and the brake pedal goes to the floor before you have enough pressure to stop the car.my fear is that in a situation where i need to brake quickly, it could potentially cause an accident.
"brake failure"when i applied the brakes the peddle, the brake pedal suddenly became hard to depress and the distance needed to stop increase drastically.it was very dangerous to stop the car completely. If it happened while driving on freeway, it could have happened an accident.
That vehicle just shuts off has i'm driving

Our daughter was driving our three-week-old dodge dart. It began smoking as she exited the highway and, within seconds, she lost her ability to brake and steer. The car was completely engulfed in flames within 1-2 minutes and is a total loss.she was able to get out without physical injury but was extremely shaken. The fire department put out the fire. We can provide pictures of the fire, showing the flames shooting many feet into the air and the car encased in smoke.

Brakes completely failed while car was stationary. At 75,000 miles master cylinder & power brake booster failed. Car was purchased new also. Seems to be re-occurring problem on these dodge darts. Recall should be issued before someone gets killed
When driving i can hear rattling going over bumps coming from the front of the car. I inspected the brake caliper and it is not tight against the brakes pads
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving 10 mph, the brake pedal was applied, but was difficult to depress. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the brake line needed to be repaired.
I was coming up to a red light at an intersection. When coming to a stop, the brakes locked up and was unable to stop and rear ended another vehicle.
First incident occurred as i was driving down the road at about 35 mph my brake light sensor turned on; without the brake being pushed or emergency brake being on. Pulled over placed the vehicle in park and shut it off. Turned the car back on and the light no longer appeared. As i was reversing out of my drive way i applied brakes, my vehicle didn't stop i pulled the emergency brake that didn't stop the vehicle either. Upon pushing the brake it seemed "seemed stuck" unable to push it down all the way. I was able to change my gear into drive and tried to push the brakes in however, my car failed to stop until i placed my car in park and applied the emergency brake.
My 2014 dodge dart gt has had breaking issues over the past few weeks. When stopping the break petal will go all the way to the floorboard with no pressure at all. This issue has almost caused 3 accidents and the dealership says that they can not find an issue. This vehicle has no recalls to be repaired, and is very unsafe to drive. Dealership has been notified of the issue and no attempt at repair has been made
Brakes don't seem to be working properly.i have contacted the local dealer and they stated they don't have the repair for the recall although they know it's a problem?
Vehicle made weird noises as soon as it was put in drive shortly after being turned on. Was driving on a 45 mph road when i could no longer accelerate after the first gear while turning into the freeway. Was forced to pull over and restart the vehicle which was able to put into first gear and after second gear began to rev up an no acceleration happened. Was unable to make it to work and tried to test it 'out again, but unfortunately its still failing. My vehicle is undrivable and now need to pay out of pocket for repairs of a recall that is still "pending". Mine & my children's safety was on the line. We were lucky it was not rush hour. I have attached the letter i received from the fac us llc stating this is a defected vehicle. Which is a letter in accordance with the ntmvsa.
Chrysler group llc (chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 dodge dart vehicles manufactured february 27, 2012 to january 23, 2014 and equipped with either a 2.0l or 2.4l engine. In affected vehicles, engine oil from the vacuum pump may seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster

The power steering abruptly went out during a soft turn into a parking spot.the instrument cluster showed the power steering warning light and displayed that there was a power steering fault in the message center.this changed steering dynamics mid-turn and nearly caused an accident.this has happened again since the first incident and only seems to occur during low-speed cornering. Normal steering operation always returns next key cycle.no fault code is saved and the dealer has so far been unable to replicate or repair this issue.this is one of several safety defects with this car.
I'm on the freeway driving my car and it stops in middle of the road . The power steering went out also. I almost got hit by a car behind me .
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, there was a cracking noise coming for the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred numerous times. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 37 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the brakes failed. The contact crashed into the rear driver's side of another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,800. The vin was unavailable.
While driving on a local street (under 30 miles an hour), i lost control of my vehicle and the tire exploded. I tried to regain control and the car jumped the curb. My daughters and i was shaken up really bad. Had i been on the high way it would have been a completely different story. I have the dealership investigating it now.
Vin incorrectinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'
That vehicle just shuts off has i'm driving
I was driving down a side street about 15 miles per hour i heard a noise and i suddenly could not steer, i was forced to hit a curb and the wheel caved in and the car had to be towed.my insurance will not pay for the control arm that broke stating chrysler should pay for the defective part that caused the accident, chrysler will not pay for the part either.this was not my fault and i need helpthe car was in motion as i was driving on a city side street.
When traveling on the interstate, i experienced shaking in the steering wheel and a rumble noise. I thought it was a wheel bearing but my mechanic has diagnosed it as the right front cv axle shaft, center support bearing needing replaced.
Noise produced when steering, caused by a strut mount that isn't properly sealed against moisture. Seems to be a common problem. A user on the dodge dart forums found a fix, but the issue still remains that the strut cap is not properly sealed, and no amount of replacing it will fix that without fixing the issue. For details on the fix: the issue is that the cowl plastic grill drips right into the strut mount, there is a cap there but it is not a water tight sealing cap. This allows the strut mount center, where the nut is, to flood and corrode. This rusts the strut mount bearings together and prevents them from spinning freely thus causing the rubber to rubber contact and moaning sound. If the mounts are not too badly rusted you can dry up all the water, apply a liberal amount of wd40, pb blaster or whatever you prefer, let it soak and then just turn your wheel from lock to lock. Clean the little cap and apply a small bead of silicone around the cap, install it and let it dry. This will create a water tight seal and prevent the strut mount damageso there needs to be a new part that addresses this issue, and a recall on all of the old parts because otherwise the strut mounts will rust and eventually fail.
While driving my vehicle, it stalled. While driving! completely shut off. Lost powering steering, brakes. Battery light came on, but lights and radio was still on. Tried to start it up multiple times until finally at the fifth try it stated and drove like nothing ever even happened.

Driving down the road went to turn left and the car said blinker out so turned off blinkerpulled in the drive way and turned blinker back on and smoke was coming from the tail light opened the trunk and it was engulfed inflames.
The panel that protects the underside of the front portion of the car rubs and detaches with contact with standard road objects (slopes, parking stumps, speed bumps, etc.). As a result the protective cover is destroyed and hangs beneath the car and causes a safety hazard to the driver and to other vehicles on the road. Possible safety hazards include but are not limited to: flying debris on road way, excess exposure of car parts to roadway and weather elements, front bumper falling off, hoses on underside of car breaking from impact with road and more. Specifically, this happened to my car when i was entering a parking lot that has a slope and the front underside became loose. I believe the underside became loose because of the fiber glass fabric that keeps it in place which ripped (shown in pictures). It continued to occur each time i enter any parking lot that has a slope to enter and continually got worse.
At low speed ~15 mph , in my subdivision during a snowy evening i hit and object.no tire damage, however the lower control arm broke.after collecting the broken part and presenting to a material expert, the aluminum casting showed two casting defect at the breakage point. Raising concern of safety.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving at 80 mph, the air conditioner foot well vent detached and became lodged underneath the brake and accelerator pedals. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the vent needed to be glued. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,500.
Silver billet paint has black specs in it two dealerships says bad factory paint job. Back up camera becomes fuzzy or just goes out. Seats on my gt fade .
So we were driving the roads were wet and it was snowing as we switched lanes we lost control of the car on the highway spun about 10 times and hit a cement barrier at about 40 miles hit the front of the car and the air bags did not deploy at all .
Attention: chrysler (fca) has a serious problem with their cars catching on fire. They are in denial and are giving everyone the run around. The word is out if you have a dodge don't park it in your garage. They can catch on fire just sitting, not even running or driving. Thesefires all seem to start around the battery compartment.fca is recalling vehicles in the u.s. For a defect that can result in a vehicle fire. Some alternators have an issue that can cause a short circuit, resulting in a stalled engine or vehicle fire.they had just put a brand new motor in this car.smoke was coming from under the hood, so i open the hood and there were flames everywhere. The fire department put out the fire.this has happened to several of these cars, one young girl almost didn't get out in time. I hate to think about kids in car seats if you could get them out in time. These cars burn up quickly. The insurance and the dealership told us it's a manufacturers problem.fcanovember 15, 2016 dear [xxx]: this is in regards to the inspection that was performed on your 2014 dodge dart. 'we have reviewed your recent fire report with deep concern. Needless to say, we sincerely regret the unfortunate fire that occurred. After our inspection of your vehicle, the information at hand would not permit us to associate the fire with a manufacturing or assembly error. We are sure you will appreciate, fires of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process. In the absence of any substantiating evidence indicating that the cause of the fire was attributed to a condition existing in the vehicle when it left our manufacturing plant, we find it necessary to deny responsibility in this matter. Thank you for calling this to our attention. Sincerely, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2 motor mounts and 1 transmission mount went bad.a rattling noise from the front of the motor.and the suspension is bad also.
Vehicle engine shakes for no reason, back camera doesn't work. I wasn't able to shift my vehicle until a part was bought that would allow vehicle to change gear. Suspension went out on front and back around 50000 miles til this day car shakes on a regular basis
Dodge dart uses 1quart of oil 1,000 miles #2 does not shift in corect gear #3 rubbing in the frount end when stearing.
At 44k there was a definite sway when taking a corner. I also noticed a drop to the front end. When i took it to my garage the first thing my mechanic noticed was my front tires need to be replaced due to cupping which he told me was from uneven wear due to my suspension. He also showed me where water was leaking into the struts on the front end. Definitely due to part failure and not normal wear and use.

Brakes don't seem to be working properly.i have contacted the local dealer and they stated they don't have the repair for the recall although they know it's a problem?
The vehicle has a manual transmission.my vehicle revs when attempting to shift it.the clutch will be completely up and the vehicle will still rev as if it is engaged. At this point there is nothing that can be done until it stops revving.it also grinds and clatters when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear.very rough shifting and sometimes experience a burning smell after its driven.

My veh 2014 dodge dart sxt as i was driving was stuck in drive & couldn't ge it out ofdrive or take my key out but as i go online to see has any other dodge dart been havin this problem & it was a lot of vehicles havin this same issue i could've wreck my veh while drivin but i guess whom ever made these vehicles doesn't care because the dealership stated this is 1 vin# that isn't covered under recall but my vehicle is doin the same exact thing as the other dodge dart
My vehicle is not listed under the recall for transmission control module failure although it did shift into neutral and caused my vehicle to be inoperable. If the transmission shifts into neutral, it can cause loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. My vehicle was stationary being shifted into drive, after the shifter was moved the vehicle immediately moved into the neutral positon and would not move up or down in order to park it. The emergency parking brake was pulled in order to keep the vehicle stationary and the entire side of the car where the issue was had to be removed, i.e the battery and the compartment that holds the battery in order to gain access to the faulty part and to be able to remove and install a new part. My vehicle however did this because of a faulty shift bushing part that has withered away after only 4 years. The cable unexpectedly released itself from the bushing.
While driving my 2014 dodge dart 2.4 tigershark engine, the vehicle shut off. The battery indicator light came on all electronics inside the car were still operative. I had a wrecker take the car to the dealership. Diagnostic test showed lost communication with the body control module. Looked at oil and it was low. I was told by auto technican that the auto shuts it's self off when it is low on oil. This is a very alarming situation if it would shut off while driving on the freeway in traffic i called chrysler and reported this. The call center stated that she had 2 people call the day before and 3 on the day i called with the exact problem. She said allthe cars hadover 20,000 miles on them.
My car pop in to neutral it want go into park or drive, it's staying in neutral the key want release because of the carbeing stuck in neutral.
Driving down the road, car shuts off. Pull to side of the road. Smoke coming from under the hood, so i open the hood and flames. Fire department had to put it out total loss. They sent out an inspector and he wouldn't give me any information. Now i keep getting an answer machine. I will send you our pictures. These are web-sites where people have reported this problem. My shifter cable has broke on my car. I'm being told there is a recall on this part but there is nothing dodge can do about this until november due to not having a part yet. Therefore i am stuck with a undrivable 2014 car that cant be fixed and no one will do anything to help me fix it nor will they put me in a rental until the part comes in. I've also been told they cant do anything to get the car back on the road until the part comes in. I'm confused as to why i have even gotten a recall notice on a part dodge can not fix or why they cant at least get my car fixed enough to be on the road until this part comes in. This will be my first and last dodge and i will file a complaint with the bbb as well.
The transmission control clutch keeps dis engaging causing the vehicle to go into a neutral position and will not allow the car to move...this has happened 4 times with this vehicle.
2014 dodge dart ralleye sxt stalls while driving. I have had the battery and alternator tested. The alternator test always yielded a passing score but the battery score was off and on. I had the battery replaced for that reason and still have issues with the car stalling while driving. I've taken it into the dodge dealership and left without a solution. The car stalled in several places but mainly when i am slowing down at a stop sign/light or behind backed up traffic.
When you stop, put vehicle in park and try to shut off the car it will say 'vehicle not in park' and will not shut off.
Unable to get key out of the ignition when put in park.
So i bought a 2014 dodgde dart gt a monthgone i noticed that the motor would moveon the right.
Car shuts off while driving, all electrical loses power. Checked recall, nothing posted. It started about 1 month ago, happens once a week. Check the forum and there are numerous complaints listed about this issue. Dealership wont return call.
I'm experiencing lost of engine torque when shifting on first gear due to clutch operation components parts not working properly. In one occasion i was making a right turn into the intersection, when i engaged first gear and try to shift to second gear the clutch wouldn't disengage or come back to at-rest position. It felt like air got into the hydraulic system making a loose clutch line connection during the release of the clutch, after i hit the pedal with my foot a few times i was able to make the clutch pedal to come back to at-rest position. This was a very scary experience since my kids were riding with me.
Every morning after i start my car i drive down the street and it stalls mid traffic. It does it multiple times. I have to drive around my neighborhood til vehicle stalls 4-5 times then drives ok. Safety issue. I have noticed that some of the cars have been recalled but not mine
My 2014 dodge dart aero 1.4 turbo will go into limp mode and i have to stop and turn my car completely off and restart is it has done it several times now and i've taken it to 2 or 3 different dodge dealerships and they say they cannot duplicate the problem i am having.
The back up camera and interior screen have both gone out. Out of nowhere. The screen fluctuates between working and turning itself off mid use (not only for the camera, but during driving as well.)the screen has been malfunctioning for quite some time now and the camera has gone down about 6 months ago.
My car was parked. I turned my car on and pushed the brake, my shifter would change to different gears on the lighted display but would not actually go into reverse, neutral, drive. My car was stuck in park. Upon examination from a mechanic my shifter cable was loose and this had to be repaired. I have seen numerous complaints with this same issue upon online research. I called the dealership and was told this was not part of my warranty. This would be a safety issue if this was to come loose upon my daily commute on a busy interstate. I am concerned for my safety if my vehicle was stuck in drive or reverse. I am thankful this time i was in park,
My car has been at dewey since july 23rd for a service transmission light.
I have been having trouble when turning off the car the key gets stuck and i can't take it out of the ignition unless i jimmy my gear shift. I noticed the 2014 is recalled and i put my vin in and it said my car is in fact recalled. What can i do? i am going to put today's date because it happened today, but it happens pretty much every day.
Unable to get car in park to shut off the car, and get key out. This happened where ever i park. It even happened at the garage.
My vehicle shuts down while driving. I have a battery under warranty. I've gone to the store where the battery was purchased twice and was told the battery and alternator are good. I've had two different auto mechanics check my car and was told the same as the above. One mechanic told me when he applied a diagnostic tool to my car, several factory codes come up. I was told to take my car to a dodge dealer service center, which i plan to do on monday 2//12/18. I'm filing this complaint because my neighbor's friend and my sister's male friends girlfriend both own dodge darts and are experiencing the same problem. Our cars will shut off while driving. My battery indicator light comes on, however when tested, the battery and alternator indicates they are okay. As i said above, i've had the battery and alternator tested at least four times.each time i experienced this problem my car was in motion on a street.
The last 6 months my car in the morning has clutch problems. I start it and my clutch will stick to the floor until i either use my foot or hand to bring it up. Then i will have to pump the clutch multiple times until it starts working. It feels like a sponge until it get pumped multiple times then it finally feels like it is working normal. The last time it happened was this morning.
My son was driving his car to his friends house. When he arrived he parked his car. About 30 min later when he was ready to leave the car would not switch gears. Luckily my friend is a mechanic and he checked out the car and said it was the transmission control module. My son has only had the car for a few months. I looked online and several people have been complaining of the same issue. When i checked the system said there were no recalls for that vin #. I believe this issue needs to be addressed and people like me who have had to come out of pocket to fix this issue should be reimbursed.
6 speed manual clutch gave kick back behavior where the shifter jumped out of gear while driving. This happened 3 times in one day while driving. Once turning onto a busy rd at green light, after changing gears getting into highway the next, 3rd was as i was driving on side road after turning onto it a minute prior. Already up to speed. Then within a few days (4) the clutch went out completely with no usability. Now it is stuck. Large repair costs. I have been quoted up to 4,000$ for all repairs because these cars have a repeated history of this happening with no aftermarket parts that would be more solid to replace it with. Oee parts have to be defective! i financed this vehicle late august 2019 and mid december this occurred quickly and is an absolute loss at the moment.
Car keeps stalling on road and not starting. This is an issue that needs to be rectified. Several others have reported the issues as well as far back as 2016. Dodge needs to do something on behalf of customers to clear this horrible safety hazard.
The car turns off when at a stop especially when making a right hand turn or slowing down.the car gives you no warning no lights come on it just turns off. The car has been at the mechanic for over a week and they can not diagnose the problem becomes it comes back on after 3-4 attempts. This is a extreme safety concern for that it turns off completely when at a stop or a light. This can cause a accident and the problem can not be diagnosed yet.
When the engine is shut off the key will not come out of the ignition until the gear shift knob is jiggled. This is reoccurring frequently over the last year.
Clutch malfunction previous recall.
For a week now my dart has random stopped registering it's in park when it is in park. After i shift gears, it illuminates on the dash that it's not in park and does not allow me to shut the car off for up to 5 mins
Car stuck on nuetral. Car won't return key. The key is stuck in the vehicle while the vehicle remains on nuetral.
Clutch pedal does not return from depressed position. I was driving on the freeway and as i was going to get off an exit to work i went to downshift from 5th gear to 4th and my clutch pedal stuck to the floor. I was able to just barely get to 4th gear but when i went to stop on the exit at the red light the clutch was still stuck to the floor and would not release. The car wouldnt move after that. I got it parked in a gas station parking lot and checked all fluids ect. With no sign of anything wrong. Eventually i was able to get the clutch to release and parked my car at work. I then had my dad and brother come pick the car up since i commute to work and cannot afford to have this happen in rush hour traffic on my way home. The car ran fine for the majority of my drive. I am very frustrated as this could have been a catastrophic incident.
I'm on the freeway driving my car and it stops in middle of the road . The power steering went out also. I almost got hit by a car behind me .
Transmission slips into neutral while driving causing the car to lose mobility causing a major safety concern.
I bought and received a dodge dart sxt rallye in may 2014. This incident occurred just less than a year. I was driving down the highway at around 70 mph. All of a sudden, i was not able to gas the pedal in the middle of driving. Even shifting gears, i was not able to gas. After avoiding a couple of cars, i was able to park my car on the side of the road. The clutch, as i step on it, had no pressure. After getting it towed and it made its way to the dealership, i was told that i needed the clutch replaced and it was not under warranty..
Vehicle engine shakes for no reason, back camera doesn't work. I wasn't able to shift my vehicle until a part was bought that would allow vehicle to change gear. Suspension went out on front and back around 50000 miles til this day car shakes on a regular basis
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. The contact stated that after shifting into drive from park, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. In addition, the vehicle suddenly jerked and accelerated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While in reverse, the vehicle accelerated without warning. While at a drive thru, the vehicle accelerated without warning. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact had to turn the engine off to stop the vehicle. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but the technician could not find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.

I purchased my vehicle in june 2014 with only 4 miles on it. The only minor problem i noticed after a few days' use is that sometimes it is very difficult to switch between gears - it's almost like you have to jerk it in order to move from one gear to the next. I didn't think this was a major issue so i didn't think anything of it though the problem persists from time to time. The major issue is the following: around mid-september 2014, i was driving to work in the morning, at approximately 35 mph. At one point, the vehicle accelerated itself. There were no vehicles in front of me so nothing happened. I immediately pressed on the brake pedal until i came to a full stop pulling over on the right. I turned off the vehicle and restarted it. I drove to work and the vehicle worked fine this time. It was a very scary situation because i was afraid it would happen again. I have never had any issues with vehicles and thinking that it was probably a one-time incident, i never contacted the retailer nor the manufacturer of the vehicle.the problem has since then occurred three or four times after that. The last time it occurred was early march 2015. I was on the same road i was when it first happened, driving approximately at the same speed, when the car abruptly accelerated. I always leave enough space between me and the car in front of me so thankfully i was able to brake and come to a full stop. My passenger saw what had transpired and advised me to immediately take my vehicle to the retailer so they can have it looked at. My vehicle has roughly 8,300 miles on it because i just drive to work and back, school and back and groceries, and all places are within 5 and 25 minutes from me. I always obey speed limits and evade highways because i never know if and when the problem will happen again, so i feel unsafe driving the vehicle.
I purchased my dodge dart in oct 2014. On july 10 2015 i got into my car and noticed the speedometer was not working. I returned home and called the dealer to get it to the shop. My appointment was for july 15 and i dropped it off the evening of the 14th. They called on the 16th of july to say my vehicle was ready and that they reprogrammed the computer. I was driving it the next day and the speedometer was not working again. I called the dealer and made them aware and took the car back to them. I also provided video to them showing the issue at hand. The dealer called on the 24th of july to say i could come and pick up my car until the part came in to repair my speedometer on august 5th. They told me they do not feel a speedometer that does not work is a safety concern.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. While driving, smoke emitted from the air conditioning vents. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (yakima dodge located at 1701 s 1st yakima, wa 98901) where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner compressor needed to be repaired. The parts were on backorder until august. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the information for the case manager: tonya at dodge customer care, 1-800-763-8422, ext 40306. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 22,000.updated 09/01/17*ljthe consumer stated the a/c compressor clutch was burnt. The vehicle was repaired . Updated 09/06/2017
While driving on a local street (under 30 miles an hour), i lost control of my vehicle and the tire exploded. I tried to regain control and the car jumped the curb. My daughters and i was shaken up really bad. Had i been on the high way it would have been a completely different story. I have the dealership investigating it now.
I was driving in my 2014 dodge dart that was purchased in june of 2014 and i went over a pothole in the road by my house. The tire pressure sensor light came on and said the tire had 10 pounds of pressure in it. I thought the pothole blew the tire.i got the car home and took the week off to bring to the tire shop and that is when i noticed the wheel had been damaged. It is an aluminum alloy wheel that is 6 months old and has less than 4000 miles on it. I believe there could possibly be a defect with the aluminum used to manufacture the wheel. I have pictures of the pothole and the wheel and i still have the wheel.
I have had 2 tires withsidewall blowouts of the kuhmo solus kh 25/ 205/55/r16 tires that came on my (new from the dealership) 2014dodge dart.the first at unknown miles. Was as i was accelerating from a stop sign. The second at 30,286 miles. The second blowout was after the car was parked for a significant amount of time, sounded like a shotgun blast and blew a hole in the skirting on my house.other tires from the solus kh25 series have been recalled with the same sidewall problem.
