The blower motor resistor connector on the 2001 dodge dakota's are overheating and melting the connectors, this is causing a potential fire hazard.if you do a search online you will see hundreds of people talking about this problem. All the auto parts stores have these in stock because it is a known problem. I have had to replace my blower motor resistor 4 times in the last 3 years and wiring 2 times because of this problem. Dodge even seems to know about this problem with the blower motor maybe drawing to many amps, but when you contact them they just say the vehicle is out of warranty.

Bought this vehicle about 5 years ago from a local dealer with 28,000 miles on it.the previous owner bought it new.i have all the service records of what was done to it including oil changes every 3,000 miles.have always treated it like a baby and bragged about it.now has 84,016 miles on it and about 3 weeks ago the engine started knocking.took it to a local dodge dealer and was told that it is a lower engine knock and that i needed a new engine.called dodge to see if they would stand by their product up to 100,000 miles and was told their was nothing they could do about it.i believe they should stand by their product to at least 100,00 miles.now i have a useless vehicle and nothing to drive

My wife and i were driving to dinner. Weather was cold it was dark outside but no other issues. Fuel gauge was reading between empty and 1/4 tank. We were driving on a busy stretch of highway route 1 north of dover delaware heading south. Traffic was moderate at the time. We were operating at a speed of 55mph when theengine suddenly stopped operating. I was able to safely maneuver the truck off the road. I attempted to restart the vehicle with no luck. I called aaa who brought some gas with them. They put 1 gallon of gas in and the vehicle started right up.an issue with the fuel gauge was reported to the selling dealer shortly after we purchased the truck (the vehicle was purchased new). The fuel gauge needle would fall to the "e" position and the low fuel indicator light would illuminate (even with a full tank of gas). The needle would then slowly recover toits original position. I took the truck back to the dealership for repair, but they could not replicate the issue so they did not repair the faulty gauge.sudden loss of engine power is a serious safety issue. I should be able to rely on the instruments/gauges to provide accurate information so that i can operate my vehicle in the safest manner possible. This fuel gauge issue is a safety hazard. Loss of engine power due to erroneous fuel gauge readings resulted in loss of power assisted brakes and steering which made controlling the vehicle more difficult.

Case number: [xxx] /this truck has never stopped safely since i purchased it new (02-07-2011/ mileage now 28455). When you have to make an emergency stop it might or might not bring it to a stop. Last week my wife and i tried to avoid a collision when a car made a quick turn in front of us and then this car had to make a quick stop. When we applied the brakes it made a very rough sound under front end...(as usual...but traveled 15 ft. Before it applied the brakes... And we were only 3ft. Away from a serious accident). I have discussed this brake problem on many occasions when i would take it in for service with the people who check me in but,...they always tell me the brakes are bunny hopping and this is normal for the new trucks and thereis nothing wrong with them...(but never check them out to make sure). We have had many new vehicles but they all stopped the way they should except this one. I have called this problem to dodge attention twice and will take it back to efird chrysler florence, sc thursday 12-10 '15 and ask them once more to check this truck out. If they don't what are my options?i have also had problems with my transmission rough changing. They have adjusted it twice in the past but after a year or two it starts doing the same thing again. I also want them to fix this transmission once and for good. If you can advise me please do. Sincerely, [xx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

When accelerating it shudders tremendously.let of the gas and it stops sometimes.

Case nunber:[xxx]. I contacted you 12/04/15 concerning brakes on this truck and i also told you that every time i would try an discuss this issue with efird chrysler florence, sc they would tell me the brakes are antilock system and it was normal for them to make noise when applied for emergency stopping. I took this truck back 12-10-15 and told them about the near accident my wife and ihad on 12-01-15 making an emergency stop. This truck (traveled 15ft.) after applying the brakes before it started braking to stop this vehicle and we were 3ft. Away from making contact with another vehicle. Now to me this is serious and we are afraid of this vehicle in emergency stops. It has had poor stopping before but never like this. I contacted chrysler several times about the problem with the brakes but, contacting chrysler you can get into a lot of conversation but not much action. Efird chrysler still says this is normal ...but has not given me a reason for this delayed stopping. I have done all i know to do with efird and chrysler concerning this problem and i am not getting any results. I was in a wreck while in motion on a highway, the truck was tboned on the passenger side and turned over on its side and no airbags deployed.

At 60,597 miles, all the tie rods and ball joints completely failed.other dodge truck models were recalled for the same reason, but not the dakotas.failure was while vehicle was in motion on city street. Fortunately, i was able to get the vehicle to a garage. Repair invoice is attached (three pages, three photos) with this complaint.

Se barrio hasta chocar con la valla y volcarse , corrio un pequeo tramo de capota

I was going 60mph when the vehicle just went out of control for no unknown reason. I slide across the median and hit a loaded tractor/trailer head-on. It took the jaws of life to get me out of the truck. I suffered 8 broken ribs, a broken leg, broken jaw and a laceration under my chin. This is a very dangerous vehicle that should be taken off the road before it causes loss of life. It almost cost me my life and after 3 months i am still recuperating from the result of this accident.
