Currently having an ongoing issue with the abs and traction control lights. The vehicle is in the shop for the second time in less than 2 months for the same lights. Twice i was driving down the road, the brake pedal would do something funny and the those lights would come on. The second time(currently and occurred on june 4th) the airbag warning light came on as well. The first time the abs and traction light came on, i was told it was a abs sensor, and i paid the dealership $250.00. This time less than 2 months later, the dealership is saying it is yet another sensor causing those lights to illuminate. And as far as the airbag goes, it's faulty wiring and that itneeded another wiring harness. These repairs would cost me over $600.00. I have two friends that have the same vehicle and are having the exact same problems with the abs and traction control lights. This seems to be a overall dodge issue as far as the chargers go.

Sensor light for airbag illuminated when returning from out of town trip yesterday 04-aug-15.i first searched for recalls and found an article that 2 days ago there was a recall on select vehicles.the vehicles listed included dodge chargers 2011-2014.i called to confirm with dealership whether or not my particular vin was involved in the recall.i was told it was not.this worries me due to the nature of the sensor and if the air bag happens to deploy while i am driving.i could hurt myself, my family or other drivers. I would like someone to check into this since the recall is so recent and on the website for the recall it states that it may not include recent recalls.the last update i saw listed was mid jun this year.thanks for your attention to this matter...

I purchased my 2013 dodge charger from anderson toyota of lake havasu city, arizona as a certified pre-owned vehicle last year. I have since come to discover that the vehicle has 5 active safety recalls, none of which were addressed or fixed prior to the dealership selling me the car. Several of the recalls have been in place for years, but i was never informed that i was being sold a vehicle known to be unsafe. I am now paying on a financed vehicle that cannot be driven out of town, due to known defects that were in place at the time of purchase.

Dealer is refusing to repair my car under recall for talaat airbags. When i contact the dealer and the fca hotline, i am repeatedly hung up on.

Yesterday evening, the airbag warning light on my vehicle came on.although the owners manual for my vehicle states that an airbag light needs to be checked immediately, this morning i was unable to obtain a service appointment despite my having contacted two local dodge dealerships.when i spoke with the service departments at both dealerships, i was told that the airbags on my vehicle may not be working.however, neither dealership would give me a a service appointment until next week.when i called fiat chrysler's customer department, i was told that my vehicle is subject to a safety recall due to a problem with its airbags.it was also acknowledged by the representative with whom i spoke that one or more of the airbags on my vehicle may not be working.in spite of this, and in spite of the recall, fiat chrysler told me that it is unable to get me a service appointment today to have the recall and airbag warning light issues addressed.furthermore, i was told that if the airbag warning light problem is not related to the recall, i might have to pay to have the problem addressed if it is not covered by warranty.although i asked to be given a rental car today to drive until my vehicle can be seen at a dealership, fiat chrysler would not authorize me to receive a rental car free of charge, and instead told me that i would have to rent a car using my own money and seek reimbursement.fiat chrysler has told me that my complaint has been "escalated" and that i would received a return call from fiat chrysler "as soon as possible," despite which i have not received a return phone call.i now have an appointment with lucas dodge in mt. Holly, new jersey, but for today i am being forced to drive a vehicle that may have either defective airbags or no working airbags at all.

My airbag light came on and stayed on. I referred to the owner's manual, which stated to seek service immediately. I went to the dealership where i purchased my new vehicle. I was told oh there's a recall, we need to make you an appointment. I took my car in on the scheduled day, but the next day i was told that its a wiring issue and the airbags may not deploy. The factory warranty expired so you're responsible is what i was told by the dealership and chrysler group llc. I disagree since this could potentially be a factory defect. No preliminary investigation since this same issue is known with the 2012 models. What does it take before a recall is issued on these dodge chargers. Any information you provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks concerned military service member

The was a recall issue fixed on my vehicle sometime last year where if i'm not mistaken, they went into my dash and/or removed the dash. Also the airbag light would go on and off. Since then, i've started to experience clicking/knocking where the airbag would be located and the air bags light is on and off very frequently as well. If i hit a bump on the side where the clicking occurs, the air bag light will come on. Not sure if the problem is related to the recall that was supposedly fixed in the past, however there was no clicking/knocking in the dashboard prior to the fix, only airbag light. I just don't want it to be an airbag issue or it deploys while i'm driving. Not able to put in an exact date because it happens everyday, so only entered today's date.

Wife complained of trunk opening by itself. Car has keyless passive entry system and i suspected she was accidentally hitting the trunk release button. Problem became progressively worse and on two occasions she had to stop on the side of busy highways to close the trunk putting her at a substantial risk of injury or death. A brief online search shows an historical problem involving this complaint. At first the problem was humorous but after her having to stop on the lie the humor quickly faded and concern arose. The car is at the dealer for a fix and i expressed my concern and was blown off. This may not be the typical safety problem associated with potential injurious events but an unforeseen or unexpected reaction to this situation could lead to unintended accidents.

While entering the highway, the call stalled and seems as if there was trouble automatically switching gear. At first we thought it was just time for an oil change. So after getting the oil change, the radio and engine went hay-wire. She couldn't shut off the engine for over 30 minutes. When we took the car to the dodge dealership regarding our issues, they told me they couldn't find anything wrong. I bought this car for my wife and have serious concerns.clearly there is something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some reason no matter how many times i replace it, the front fuse for the a.c. Where the engine is located keeps getting something burned on the side of it causing my a.c. To stop blowing cool air.it doesn't matter if the car is in motion or not. I have seen a lot of other people that own this type of car having the same problem.

Trunk no longer opens. Came with trunk release button on fob, by stearing wheel and by trunk on outside, and none of these buttons actually do what they are suppose to do. It is attempting to release somehow because you can hear the trunk when any of these button are pushes, but no actual movement. Huge trunk, and no way to utilize.

My dodge charger rt 2013 vehicle randomly reports that your need to push down the clutch in order to start the vehicle. It also will randomly cut off on you while driving the vehicle which is extremely dangerous. I have taken the vehicle to different dealerships and for the all tell me that i can do anything since we cant replicate the issue. I don't understand the why the vehicle will report anything about an clutch since it is an automatic.

When i turned the front passenger side heated seat on i was getting a strong electrical burning smell. Never happened before but car recently had the recalled alternator replaced.

A recall was sent out for the alternator, i tried several attempts to get the work done and they never had the part.recently i was out driving the car and it shutoff and all the lights on the inside and outside of the car began to flash on and off constantly.i had to call the tow truck to have it towed to the dealership because it was inoperable. Once the dealership did their diagnosis they notified me and told me it was the alternator and it caused the battery to die.he told me that he was going to take care of the alternator but i had to come out of the pocket for the battery. I explained to him that the battery died due to the bad alternator and he stated that he does not know that still insisting that i pay for the battery.i called for two days straight trying to contact the service manager but no one ever contacted me.therefore i'm reaching out to your company to find out is it fair that i have to pay for a battery that died due to the alternator going out.the car lights continued to flash and the gauges continued to go in all different directions even when the tow company towed the car.the battery that was in the car was purchased directly from dodge less than 2 years ago. Can someone please assist me?

On august 2nd, 2015 at approximately 2:30pm while backing out of my driveway onto a busy street when i placed my car in reverse i observed my backup camera not to be functioning and showing a black screen.i attempted multiple times taking the car out of gear and than placing it back in reverse again with no effect.i then shut the vehicle off and turned it back on then placing the car in reverse.a black screen still showed but the text stating "check surrounding areas" popped up on the top of the screen (still no image showing).i notified the dealer immediately and took it in for them to take a quick look before closing.technician informed me he could not find any codes, and that all wiring and connections appeared to be fine but told me to make an appointment.i made an appointment for the following monday.when i went to leave the dealer that saturday i placed my car in reverse and the camera was functioning fine (haven't had an issue since).idropped my car off sunday night and the dealer had it monday & tuesday and could not replicate the issue.the item was not replaced under warranty and dodge is basically informing me that a intermittent issue is fine.

It won't start you have to get a boost just put a new start alternator and abattery the car is there still having problems are cranking up

I was driving from tulsa to joplin when the battery saver light came on. Shortly after i lost all digital gauges and power steering. Car shut off and became hard to control. I was in left lane on interstate with tractor trailers in the right lane, car slowed to around 10 miles an hour as i tried to get across right lane onto shoulder. Car in right lane would not move and almost caused accident. Was able to get car to shoulder. Original alternator failed at 130,000 miles. Dodge wanted over 600 dollars to replace and said the original recall did not effect my model. Purchased a second alternator from autozone but it was dead out of the box. Third alternator lasted from september 2016 to july 2017. Installed fourth alternator on 7/15/2017 but diagnostics shows the regulator is failing. Autozone is telling me that dodge has other issues causing failure. Problem i have is dodge would not replace the original alternator as it was not included in recall.

The battery dies over night and i have to constantly charge my battery, so while driving i loss power, because of my alternator.

Passenger side window no longer operates.it is stuck in the up position, thankfully. But it does no go down, although it is trying, the noise the motor makes whem first engaged is still there in an attempt to do its job. Does not go down by passenger button, does not go down by driver side button, both buttons and no it is not on lock position.safety issue yes in case there is an accident or something obstructing your door and only way to escape is through window...that wont go down.

I had a prior issue with my 2013 dodge charger when my mother was driving my car and the alternator went on it and it became very difficult for her to turn the car considering she is a tiny woman. I contacted the nhtsa and i want to say something was done about it because a month later my charger had a recall for the alternator. The problem with this is that it is happening again, the only thing is this time i was driving the car but it was still a little difficult to control a 5000 pound car with no power steering because the alternator is gone on it. I replaced my battery and i know it is not that. The car is basically new and i shouldn't be having these issues and it is also dangerous because you never know when a car is going to just shut off on you in the middle of the hight, or rush hour traffic, anywhere that it can be dangerous to control the vehicle. I sent dodge and email tonight, hoping to get an answer back within a few days, but for the most part right now i will have to take an uber to work or where ever i need to go. But this is an inconvenience to a lot of owners because i have read a lot of bad reviews on the alternator for this car. If they are replacing the alternators with the same first one they used, it makes no sense because it is just going to have the same problems.

P60 recall:yesterday, my husband was driving our 2013 dodge charger when the battery like came on.nothing else happened then, but about 15 seconds later - - everything on the dash started flashing, the windshield wipers came on, the car started to jerk and then everything died.he managed to coast into our driveway - luckily was headed home from work and only doing 20mph.no warning - no nothing.just all of a sudden - entire system failure.no power steering or anything.kind of a electrical smell in the car. At first, we thought that maybe the battery was loose or something or bad ground.checked that.tried jumping - terminals started smoking.did a search and found out that our vin is showing an unrepaired p60 recall.called the dealership this morning - now being told that it may be the p60 recall, but we can't know until we get it to the dealership - who - coincidentally has no appointments available for a week, does not provide loaner cars (or free rental), and may or may not cover the towing.i then contacted dodge and was told that it could be the recall, but they do not provide rentals or loaners.what?so - - they know that this is an issue in 1/2 a million vehicles, but they accept no responsibility for it other than to switch the part out?very poor customer service on dodge's part and i will be pursuing this further, once we have confirmed that the part number on the alternator is the correct part number for the recall.i am not waiting to get it up there for them to mysteriously lose the part or even better - pretend that it isn't the right part number.i am feeling very untrusting of dodge right now!

While driving my car in a residential area it started making a whining noise, i immediately pulled over. I exited the vehicle noticing smoke rising from under my hood. It looked like my alternator is what was smoking and putting out a lot of heat. I waited a few minutes hoping it would cool down. I noticed the smoke was getting worst as well as the heat coming from the engine area. I then heard a cracking noise coming from the alternator. It sounded like electricity snapping. I then disconnected the battery and immediately the snapping stopped. After approximately 5 more mins the smoking stopped. I saw that there is a recall for the alternator in my make and year, but when i type in my vin number it doesn't show the recall for my vehicle. Ive reached out to my dodge dealership, they told me my car doesn't have the recall for the alternator. Could they have made a mistake?

While my wife was driving our 2013 dodge charger on the highway at 65 mph the dash board started acting strangely and the windshield wipers came on. Before the vehicle could be brought to a stop it lost all power and control including the ability to steer the vehicle. The problem was diagnosed as a short in the alternator that also defected the battery. I was told by the chrysler customer service that my vehicle was not included in a recall that identifies these same symptoms, and that there was nothing more i could do going forward when i requested to speak with a case manager investigating these cases.

Since 07/2017 i have been having problems with the anti -theft-code. Dealership wants me to pay for a code update. No~ i feel this is a recall problem.the service center has done the recalls it required and right after these recallsi have this problem where i have to boost the car in order to turn it on. Everyday now. I work at night therefore its unsafe for a single woman to be stranded 5 days a week.

I recently took my car to the dealer to get check out because the wipers are constantly going while i am driving on high. The tech stated i need a ( multi function switch internalpart #1jh93dx9al. ) which is located in the steering wheel. He stated the part is on a national back order and if i was to come pay for it. He dont have a eta when it will come. It could take months and months he stated. I call crystler recall hotline to get more in dept with help on getting this part, they told me the same thing, and to call back next tuesday , five days from now to see if them and the dealer have a eta if the part is available. The wipers are wearing down, and my windshield is vibrating due to the fast motionof the wipers are going. I drive a 2hr round trip to work 5 to 6 days a week and the wear and tear is getting worse on my windshield. I ask the tech if there anyway he could by past it or pull the fuse, he stated no because the fuse controls the starter and othermajor components in the car. I dont know what to do, i need this part, i dont understand why is there not a recall on these cars if there is a national back order, this is my only transportation to get back to work.. I bought this car brand new with 10 miles on it in 2013. I take good are on the car.this part control just about everything in my steering wheel ( the tech stated).. If i dont never get this part, what can i do.i need my transportation. Please help me resolve this issue if you guys can

180 amp alternator is defective. Died out after 2 years. Car died on freeway. Had to replace alternator. Mechanic said it was defective.

I am in receipt of safety recall p60/nhtsa 14v-634i own a 2013 dodge charger se 3.6l engine, wa580 5-spd transmission.on thursday, january 29, 2015, while traveling from la valle, wi to tomah, wi, i noticed my headlights flickering when the brakes were applied.on friday, january 31, 2015, i emailed a note to chrysler assistance that i had received notification of recall about 2 months prior, with no further communications from chrysler.on sunday, feb 1, 2015, traveling round trip from tomah, wi to la valle, wi and back, i noticed my headlights malfunctioning again while applying the brakes.on monday, feb 2, 2015, i had my car in for a regular scheduled servicing. I asked if they had any information regarding the recall, to which they indicated that they know about it, but did not have any new information either.they offered to load test my battery, which was fine, indicating that i could continue to drive the car.later in the day on feb 2, i received an email from chrysler assistance indicating that my complaint had been forwarded to their special tracking department, and that once the parts are available, i would be notified.i would like nhtsa to look into why chrysler has not been able to arrange either a better part or an alternate solution to remedy the recall.i do not normally drive the car much after dark, but to be stalled somewhere out in the country when it's 20- zero outside would put the safety of myself and my young daughter needlessly at risk.

The trunk of the car opens intermittently. Does not open will driving.

Was driving and my battery save mode came on. Then the car's dash lights went out then the navigation system went out and the car completely stalled. In the road.lifted the hood and there was a burning smell. Let it sit for a while it started. Got it to autozone and they said it was the alternator. The dealership said its not covered under warranty cost would be about $772. Called dodge and they said my year wasn't under recall for this problem but other years were.

I noticed something strange was going on with my car when my stereo would no longer work, so i called the dealer in which i purchased it from who told me there was a recall on the alternator. This was the first i had heard of this, and i hae received zero information from anyone concerning this matter.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving 20 mph, the abs and vehicle traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the battery saver mode indicator illuminated. The contact stated that there was smoke emitting from the engine compartment of the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the alternator failed, which caused the smoke in the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle would be towed to the dealer. While driving home on 3/18./17, the battery save mode appeared. The battery light then came on. Shortly after, all the warning notifications appeared and the car died. There was a burning rubber smell coming from the hood. The battery a brand new one i recently purchased! now, i can't get into my car at all because the electricity is. Not working!i hear there was a recall on the alternator but unsure if they will cover mine! i can't afford this issue.

My vehicle has a safety recall on the alternator since november 2014,theabs light and traction control light came on while i was driving home from the store. I called chrysler the next day to inform them of this event and i was given a case number and put on a list. I use my car daily for work and can't be without it so iam wondering how long does it take to get in parts to fix it. My children and i are in danger every time we have to go some where until this matter is resolved.

The car was shut down for 1 1/2 hours and sitting in a parking lot with nothing running or on. When the car was started as normal, there was an odd sound coming from under the hood. I popped the hood and noticed smoke coming from the alternator. I shut the car down and black smoke was coming from the alternator. I heard popping and sizzling coming from the alternator.

On approximately 4/16/2014 while driving my girlfriend attempted to use the seat heater on the front passenger side.when pressing the button on the 8.4 inch screen we were able to hear a click and then the function which as illuminated on the screen turned off.she tried multiple times but the heated seat would not stay on.i had the dealership look up this issue and the following was found: "cs - b1eb2 - 1b r/f seat heater sensor-circuit resistance above threshold, inspected heated seat module connector and heated seat pad connector looks ok, checked for short to voltage circuit p688 ok, checked continuity from module to cushion pad connector circuit p688 no continuity, checked short to ground, circuit is shorted to ground, removed seat inspected wiring, found wiring got rub thru on seat frame. Inspected heat seat cushion pad sensor, found heated seat pad sensor internal failure ordered seat cushion, repair circuit p688, cleared dtcs and check if heated seat is working, seat is still not working, r/f seat is reading that its -40 degrees. Removed seat and replaced passenger front cushion heated element and verify repair".so i was driving around with a heated set where the ground wire rubbed through on the seat frame.luckily their was fire in the vehicle due to my girlfriend repeatedly pushing the button in an attempted to get the seat to work.

Hello my 2013 dodge charger 3.6 while i was driving the vehicle has just shut down with no warnings and i had to get it towed to a dodge shop u waited on my vehicle for days and they said it was a blown fuse but i'm in the technology field and it seems to me that someone has access or remotely access to my vehicle now i have issues with my fuel which i'm getting 10 miles a gallon, and my vehicle is getting to a point to wear i have to pull over because it's getting overheatedsomething is seriously wrong and i feel unsafe anytime your vehicle shuts off where you don't have control of it it's a hazard to everyone my uconnect radio ask for a anti theft code but it was before i took it to auto nation dodge it really needs to be looked at i've parked the vehicle it has 67000 miles and i just bought it in october of last year also the windows roll down by there selfs the vehicle was going about 45 mph on city hwy and the dealership never had it smoked before they sold it to me

On may 5th, 2014 when i entered my vehicle and started it both exterior side mirrors blind spot detection mirrors were illuminated and a message in the center instrument display screen stated; "blind spot detectionsystem unavailable".dealership was unable to take a look at it at this time but an appointment was made for may 8th.the night of may 5th the blind spot detection system began functioning again but was not working for approximately 6 hours even with shutting off and restarting the vehicle multiple times and checking to make sure sensors were clean.dodge dealership was unable to replicate the issue and no further action was taken.this is a safety issue to not have these systems available especially if many other people have come accustom to depending on these (even if they shouldn't be).

The adjustable gas and brake pedals move while the vehicle is motion without any type of activation by the driver, this causes acceleration or braking issues with the vehicle, when this occurs the pedals always move towards the driver not away, it occurs without warning and there is not apparent cause for it happening

Well i was driving on hallandale beach blvd in south florida and my dodge charger shut off on me after giving me a "battery saver mode" message. I had just picked it up from the dealer and they told me it was a computer issue but my beliefs is that they lied. I went online to look up some information about the message given and many people have complained about it. Please do further investigating on this issue. Luckily i'm still under warranty and i will be in there tomorrow morning to speak to them in person about this issue.

I noticed that my lights were dimming as i am driving regularly so. While wating on the new alternator to come in so that i can be get this problem fixed since april 2017. The alternator drained my battery. Dodge would not replace the battery so i went and purchased on a few days later while the charger sat for 3 days with no power. Once i put the new battery in the everything came back on so i took the car out for a drive and in just under 5 min smoke was coming from my hood. Pulled over to an auto parts store to get some help and the alternator starts sparking and once i was able to pull the battery out for it to stop pulling power the people at the parts store told me that this car is unsafe to drive and i agree. I sent it back to the dealership and i have it back now but i'm afraid to drive this thing with my girl and our kids can you help. I just got out of the military and i'm driving a car that i feel is unsafe with 6 recalls two of them being the alternator.

Lost steering and acceleration while traveling on the highway. This occurred within minutes after the vehicle entered "battery saver mode" and displayed the "battery" icon on the evic screen. This was the first and only indication of a problem, other than the radio not working that day. After pulling over, was able to restart the car, exit the highway, and pull into a service station. While attempting to park, the car would not shift out of drive into park, nor would the car shut down, until the push-button ignition switch was held down for several seconds. An electrical test revealed that the alternator had failed, and the battery tested good. Both the alternator and the battery are the original factory-installed parts.

I started my car by the factory installed remote starter and was leaving a parking lot and i heard a high pitched hum coming from the engine and the 'battery saver on' light was on. I started to drive and the car was really sluggish almost to the point if i came to a complete stop it would shut down. I drover that way for about 2 miles and during that time i started to smell something burning. I shut the car off and waited about 15 minutes and restarted the car by using the push button and the message was gone, but once the car was put into drive the battery saver message came on and burning smell was back. .i had the car towed into the elgin jeep dodge dealership on a friday night (about an hour after everything happened) and on monday i was told that nothing showed up and that it was probably the alternator but since no error codes showed they can't do anything, even though there is a recall (#t36/ nhtsa 17v-435) for the alternator. They told me that i should take the car back and hope that it doesn't happen again and when the parts come in for the recall come back and get it fix then. I did contact fiat chrysler automobiles (fca) to try and get it temporary fix but due to there being no error codes they will not fix anything. After researching this problem it seems to me that the fca will not fix anything until the car starts on fire. I drive about 40 miles a day on an expressway where speeds are about 60-70 mph, i don't feel safe that the alternator will just go and the car will stop. I feel that since there was a sign of issues that something should be fixed.

The car's electrical systems, including abs, power steering, electronic stability and dashboard gauges, as well as ac and radio, suddenly cut out during driving. This was followed by the alternator catching fire. This occurred while driving on a city street (in motion). The fire was quickly extinguished with a bottle of water, but some plastic/wiring was burned.

Fca recall t36/nhtsa 17v-435notified six (6) months ago regarding alternator diode thermal fatigue which may result in alternator failure while driving and causing a risk of crash. Also, may develop a resistive short circuit that can result in heat, smoke and/or fire originating within the alternator. As of 01/09/2018, i fortunately have not experienced a problem. The manufacturer states they do not have the parts to resolve the problem. I am of the opinion they have no intention of resolving the problem. If they wait long enough, we will forget about this recall. Would the nhtsa please intercede regarding this matter?

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving, the battery warning indicator illuminated. Within seconds, the instrument panel lighting dimmed. The contact was able to coast the vehicle onto the road shoulder and observed smoke under the hood. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v739000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 70,698.

Nhtsa recall number 17v-435 announced (6/9/2017) the alternator may experience diode thermal fatigue failure due to cyclical loads induced by electro-hydraulic power steering.attempts to arrange addressing this recall with dodge dealerships in port jervis (port jervis auto mall & manhattan jeep chrysler dodge) in september and october 2017 both were unsuccessful, with both dealerships indicating they were not being supplied with the replacement alternators by dodge, and therefore could not carry out the recall service.port jervis auto mall said that i could purchase the replacement alternator and pay for the service to replace it, submit the receipts to dodge, but that they could not guarantee that dodge would reimburse if done this way.i have learned that failure of this diode and the alternator while driving could result in the electrical system shutting down, losing power steering and brakes, with high danger of causing an accident.why is dodge not addressing this very dangerous situation?

When driving all of a sudden the battery light came on.all the other lights start flashing and loosing power.was able to park in a parking lot.the car shut down.i was told at the part store the battery was good but low probably because the alternator or left lights on in car.i charge battery and drove home about 3 mins away.smoke was comming from under the hood.it was comming from my alternater.a day ealier it smell like acid and it was skipping a little bit.i thought it was time for a tune up.

Alternator recall on my 2013 dodge charger.parts unavailable for years.no communication from dodge.

When driving i could hear a noise which i thought was the transmission them i could smell a faint smell of burning plastic. Then the battery saver light came on. I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in. Never made it. Got about 2 miles and abs light came on and traction control light came on. The brakes would engage on their on their own finally the car started to stall and coasted to a stop. When stopped the windshield wipers were running slowly. Had to have the car towed to dealer at my cost. They said alternator was burned up and it also burned up the battery. Extended warranty will pay for alternator but not the battery. Car has 43000 miles.

My 2013 dodge charger had it's alternator fail at around 12000 miles back in may of 2014.i see that chrysler has now recalled the car (nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000) for the same issue.however, i have not been able to get a straight answer from them in regards to whether or not the dealer fixed the issue when they replaced the alternator in may 2014 or whether it is still a lingering issue.i also failed to get a response as to whether or not it is safe to drive the vehicle if the issue is still lingering.i tried communicating with them electronically through their website and their 1800 recall number.the 1800 recall number was a waste of time because the lady answering the phone only repeated back information that was part of the public release of the recall.the lady answering the phone also tried to make it seem like its unknown whether or not my vehicle is even part of the recall.that seems strange considering the fact that most alternators do not fail at 12000 miles and my charger matches the description of vehicles that could be affected by the recall.given the possible consequences that could occur, i wanted some reassurances from chrysler that the vehicle was safe to drive.

Was driving down the highway and smelled an odor similar to electrical burning. Indicators appeared for low battery/save battery mode in the dash. Took car to advanced auto and while testing battery, white smoke was billowing from near engine. Mechanic repaired bad alternator which was the problem. Called chrysler dealership after seeing recall on 2013 dodge chargers but my specific car was not included on the recall. Car had approximately 60,000 miles at time of incident.

There is a recall i just received in the mail today on my car p60 (alternator) and i was driving down the road yesterday dec 6, when everything shut down on me...while driving 45 mph in congested traffic almost causing a deadly accident.they said there is no remedy yet but they will put a new defective alternator on my car leaving me in the same situation if this happens again until the problem is resolved.i feel the car should be replaced at their expense as it is no longer safe in my opinion for me to drive with children because we were almost killed yesterday when this happened there was no warning it just went down.dodge willnot give me a rental car since i am 900 miles over warranty but this is a recall so im stuck with no car and even when i get it back it is still defective.please help!

When driving my 2013 dodge charger se all of the lights flashed on the dash and the auto trans would not shift out of 1st gear . I ran my obd2 and it gave a trouble code of u0002 high speed can bus. It then stalled on the hwy and i about crashed the vehicle due to now power steering or brakes. It is now in the shop at 125.00 per hour and the dodge dealership has no idea what is wrong either. It will not start at all. No cranking no nothing.

My dodge charger hemi 5.7 road and track has less than 15,000 miles on it. We took it to dealership to have several recall repairs done.drove car home, it sat in garage for maybe 3 days, went to start the car, evic was white and car would not start. Tried to start next day and none of the lights would even come on, totally dead. Used jumper cables on it, still will not start.had to let the good car stay running and revving the engine off and on for almost 20 minutes, while trying to start the charger several times, the lights and evic came on but would not start.the next day, tried jumping again same as above, let good car run for about another 15-20 minutes, car started, check engine light is on.drove charger to autozone and left running, had someone come out and put a meter on the + and - terminals and was told the alternator is bad, not charging the battery.afraid to drive because i understand that the car could suddenly just die while driving it.that certainly would not be safe.we will be taking the car back to a dealership for the latest recall for the engine timing chain and chain guide issue.this alternator is the 180-amp alternator.with less than 15,000 miles this should not have happened. We will be letting dodge know how disappointed we are that they have not included this 5.7l engine and alternator in the recall they have done for the 6-cylinder engine, as i have researched it and have found that there have been many consumers with the same issue on their 5.7l chargers.

While driving down a state highway all warning lights came on ,windshields wipers, the heat full blast and then the car just died . Had nothing no steering no brakes no power .

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called gary miller chrysler dodge jeep ram (5746 peach st, erie, pa 16509) and was informed that the part to do the repair was unavailable; however, the contact was advised that she could pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that she could pay out of pocket and submit reimbursement. The vin was not available. The contact had not experienced a failure.

As i pulled out of the parking lot of my job, i got a message on my dashboard saying"battery saver mode" and the symbols of abs and the electrical stability control icons lit up.i then heard a strange noise as if the car was in the wrong gear. I tried to make a call with my bluetooth hands free and then it stopped working.after driving a mile, i pulled over to a gas station and called the dealership service dept. I explained the symbols that were on and the noises. I was assured the warnings lights were just a caution and i wouldn't have to worry about my car breaking down if i wanted to bring my car to the service dept.after ending my call, my ac went out and then my car shut off.i had no power and had to call a towing company to haul my car to the dealer. I was only able to drop it off as they were closing for the day but i noticed there was a recall describing the same thing that just happened to me.after researching recalls for my vehicle, i noticed the same problem as the recalled 160 amp alternator (p60 recall).this issue is still occurring with more than just what chrysler is reporting. My vehicle is an 180 amp alternator and meets the same risks listed for a recall.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving at any speed, the sunroof, hands free module, and cruise control failed without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

Intermittent electrical problems such as the windshield wipers coming on, heater turning on, gauges blinking on and off, failure to start and stalling while driving. I assumed the alternator was bad so i attempted to drive it to my local repair shop and the vehicle died in the driveway. I had to have it towed to an automotive shop. They told me that the battery was fried and they would have to replace it to diagnose the vehicle. As soon as a new battery was installed it immediately fried that battery and they said that the alternator was generatingheat and beginning to smoke. They told me that there was a major electrical short that they could not diagnose and sent it to a dodge dealership for diagnosis. This particular vin number is not under the current recall but all of the symptoms the car was having is exactly what is described in the recall notice.

Takata recall. My cars was stationary andbattery was dead took it to get checked and they said it was bad so replaced it and now it is on battery saver and smells like burnt wires

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the contact noticed a fuel odor. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (scap auto, 430 tunxis hill rd, fairfield, ct, 203-384-0005) where it was diagnosed that the power box was rewired and could cause a fire. The technician recommended that the power box be replaced and that diagnostic testing was needed. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard a whining noise and the abs, traction, and battery saver indicators illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle home at a slow rate of speed. While pulling into the driveway, the contact noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact parked, exited the vehicle, opened the hood, and saw smoke. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact called the dealer (larry h. Miller dodge ram havana, 2727 s havana st, denver, co 80014 (720) 907-1243) to inquire about an alternator recall because his previous dodge charger was included in a recall for the alternator. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,900.

Message on dash indicating that the vehicle is not in park, when the vehicle is in park, per placing the shifter into park position and it will not shut off with the push button, until the message goes away, which can take putting it back into gear, or pushing the automatic start button on the key faub or waiting for for the message on the dash to go away.looked at a forum that indicated that someone with the same problem had there vehicle go into reverse without the person placing it into reverse.many forums with people having the same problem.

My car has cut off and turned right back on several times. I have taken it to the dealer and there are 0 issues.

As driving up the highway my 2013 dodge charger jerked and when i looked at the dashboard there was a message that said 'service transmission shut off engine to engage park' my engine light was also on. I pulled over but my car would not go into park. I tried to pull back off to get to a safe place little did i know that my car would not pick up speed, traffics was approaching and there is was in the middle of the road trying pushing down on the gas pedal to hurry and move before the coming traffick made it to me, it was an 18 wheeler. I could have been dead today due to this issue and i'm not wondering why there is nothing being done about this problem.

While driving my battery light come on. That is due to alternator malfunction. The first time it happen all my electrical devices where going on and off. And my steering wheel locked and unlocked due to being a electronic steering. What i did i tried to pull over and stop at a safe place and waiting and the vehicle when back to normal mode except the battery light stayed on and the message in my cluster that said "battery safe mode". So i went back home and checked the voltage on my battery that read 11.8 to 12.3. So i took it to the dealer for the recall of the alternator. The dealer replaced it and said it's ok now. I took it home and on the way home it happen again and i took it back to the dealer and got it checked. And they said they found corrosion thesignal plug of the alternator. They cleaned it and said it ok now. A week passed by and it happen again all electrical started to turn on and off including the steering locking up and the battery light came on. And i took it back again to the dealer. And now they said they have to charge me to diagnose the issue if it's not the alternator. Charging system is not part of the alternator and they charge for that issue. Isn't the charging system part of the alternator like the voltage regulator that is in the pcm? if that is a bad component and making the alternator malfunction it's a problem for not making any current. All this happen in motion on street and on highway. All this started on june 3 2020 till now june 25 2020.

The cooling system radiator water pump heater core is giving problems in a lot of theses cars the mechanic at the dealership says he sees it all the time the radiator in mine is coming apart at the seems and a police friend of mine says they have lost 3 due to the same problem then running hot and blowing up

I received safety recall p60 from chrysler in early december 2014.the safety recall indicted that the parts required were not available and that they would contact me when the remedy parts are available.i have heard nothing.i contacted chrysler today 3/7/15 and they indicated they have no idea as to when this situation would be remedied.given the fact that this is an alternator situation which could cause the car to unexpectedly shutdown or catch fire, it does not appear as though this situation is being taken seriously by chrysler / dodge.i would like a remedy to this situation immediately.thank you.

If the alternator fails, the vehicle stall without warning, took the car to the dealership and been told that recall p60 is only for 160 am alternator and my is 180 but the same problem happen to my car.

Vehicle main computer executed just about every warning code after start up. This included a warning not to drive vehicle. This is the second episode of this nature with this vehicle, the first occurring on the first day of ownership. The vehicle has been in the dealership service department 13 of the first 60 days of ownership. The dealer "disconnected the negative battery terminal" and erased trouble codes on advisement from the manufacturer. The manufacturerhas deemed this an adequate repair procedure and wants to release the vehicle back to us. We feel that this is not an adequate repair process and due to the nature and scope of the computer controls and subsequent error reporting by the computer, that driving this vehicle may be dangerous. When these concerns were brought forth to chrysler llc customer service department, i asked the agent if she (and chrysler llc) were satisfied with assuming any subsequent liabilities that may arise from operating this vehicle in its current condition, she said they do. We are now being forced to return our rental loaner car and drive this vehicle which may not in fact be safe or reliable. We strongly feel that chrysler llc has breached its implied warranty of merchantability. This vehicle does not meet the criteria for fitness for a particular purpose. Chrysler llc has not offered a "buy back", or replacement vehicle. We have purchased roughly $80,000 worth of chrysler vehicles in the past 12 calendar months, we will not buy another if this matter is not resolved.

Alternator defective.

My car will not start with the remote or bush button.and 3 weeks ago.i was driving my car and the abs service light came on and the battery light came on and some other symbol came on. I drove the car home stopped it. Turned motor off. Waited started car again and all sorts of lights came on and off then the service abswarning light came back on again and the battery light .taking off the battery negative terminal would reset ecu. 1 week later i am driving to the store and light came on saying that the engine was overheating. Now as i was driving home the needle started to go back down and the light turned off.when i got home i checked my coolant level and it was just fine. So why did it do this? another thing now just last night, nov 11th, saturday night, i went out to the garage to start my car and it would not start?when i tried to start it i heard a clicking sound that was coming from the radiator area. The emergency flashers were flashing and the car would not even turn over. I got my multimeter and checked my battery and it was completely dead. So i charged it over night. I tried to start it next morning it would not start. My charger has a alternator check setting on it and it said it was charging. Still would not start. When i put on the battery cables? the flashers and horn would sound off? i pull the fuses on both and tried starting it again no luck. I then used the engine start feature on my battery charger and the car started right up no problem. I put the fuses back closed hood closed trunk and took car out for a drive for about 5 miles no problems.came back home stopped car and turned off engine and re-started it several times with no issues. It started up fine. Does my car fall under the safety recall p60 / nhtsa 14v-634 alternator - 2011-2014 dodge chrysler & jeep.do i need one of those new alternators?

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. Upon exiting the vehicle, the contact noticed black smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment. The failure occurred without warning. Courtesy chrysler jeep dodge ram tampa (9207 e adamo dr, tampa, fl) replaced the alternator. The contact communicated with the dealer again and was informed that the vin was removed from the recall. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 65,208.

The vehicle began to make a whining noise and smelt like burning fumes.the battery saver mode light came on and the car began to stall.the car completely shut off.the alternator failed with no issues prior to this.there was a recall for the same issue for the sameyear, make and model of my vehicle but only applied to alternators with 160amp, mines it's a 180amp.

The denso alternator caught on fire smoke was real bad and it burnt the battery up the battery was so hot you could not get it out with your bare hands.its a denso 421000-7040 with a 180 amp alternator. The car has 70,698 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that the doors unlocked without warning when the vehicle was parked. The vehicle could not be diagnosed. Every 3 months since purchasing the car the battery will be dead. When i have battery checked will test good. Put battery back on and will last 3 more months and then dead again! ever since purchasing vehicle in june 2013.battery saver mode comes on message screen regularly. Whenever battery saver mode is on message screen am not able to use radio or other items on 8.4 inch radio/nav/phone screen... When accelerating at light, car hesitates when pushing gas pedal and then when is pushed a little further car lunges, not smooth acceleration. Always starts out slow and smooth then hesitates (seems like going to stall) then lunges.

When at a stop for more then three minutes, car will stall. Car appears as if it is still running but it is not. When i proceed to move forward with traffic, car will either not move until being restarted, or if on an incline will roll backwards.

This started with a burning smell and radio not working. I tried to get car into dodge dealer in tallahassee but due to hurricane they were backed up. I drove car home from work and in seconds a terrible smell and black smoke filled up the car and out from hood into car. I had aaa and emergency service, car was towed to tallahassee car care center. I am just past my warranty with mopar dodge but this is not typical and should not happen with only 22k miles. This was dangerous and scary and could have caused a crash on the road.

Was driving dodge charger sxt on the highway going approximately 60 mph and heard a whining noise. All of the lights on control panel went on and offand there was a smell of burning rubber. Car suddenly stopped with my pregnant wife and 1 year old in the car and almost cause a major incident. Car went completely dead in middle of highway and wouldn't even turn over, but luckily caused no incident. Dealer said it was a faulty alternator issue that completely drained battery as well. There is a recall p60 on alternators for the make, model, and year of the dodge challenger sxt, but our vehicle wasn't covered. This could have caused a major incident. It doesn't seem to be a coincidence and dodge needs to add additional vehicle coverage under this recall before a major incident happens.

A recall for an alternator on my vehicle is said to be fixed but the alternator on my car doesn't match with the alternator replacement in the recall letter. I currently am having electrical issues needed to know if my alternator was fixed and with the correct part

My 2013 dodge charger rt (5.7l v8) starting making a whining noise coming from the engine while running. When accelerating the noise became louder. A burnt smell inside the cabin of the vehicle was noticed. The next day attempting the drive the car, the noise continued and several lights on the dashboard came one including brake, front crash system, etc. After car was turned off vehicle's battery died. After charging the battery, car started but smoke and a strong burnt smell started coming into car. After opening hood smoke and a small flame was visible spewing out of the alternator. After turning the vehicle off the alternator continued smoking and making crackling and popping noises for 15 minutes after the engine was turned off. Battery died again and no longer powered the vehicle requiring the car to be towed into the dealership. Waiting for chrysler's investigators report to determine of dodge will cover the repair of the parts.

While driving my "awd" charger down my hill in the middle of a snow storm my "awd" system failed on me and illuminated a message stating "service awd".i pulled over to the side of the road and put the car in park and restarted and awd was still unavailable.with only rwd i drove the car to the dealership with it spinning out multiple times for them to take a look at the system however when i arrived at the dealership the system began functioning again after shutting my car off there and turning it back on.the technicians were unable to replicate the issue and were not able to find anything wrong with the system.this is dangerous as anyone could be driving and have the awd system fail on them at any given point intermittently or permanently and needs to be investigated more deeply.

Bluetooth is not working in hundreds of thousands of vehicles. Needs a very expensive module to be replaced. This alone can cause numerous accidents and possible death due to using your cell phone not on bluetooth!

Vehicle screen dash flash white off and on and car shut down and wouldn't crank for about 30-45 minutes. Is there a recall on the alternators?the "etc" light also came on.

Electrical system failure. Entire car shut down. Given 8 speed electronic gear shift, car locked into park while in operation. It was just determined the alternator failure was the cause of this total system failure. No support available at this time.

Vehiclehad a multi-system failure while driving away from a parking lot.engine did not stall at first.initially the steering became hard from power steering loss, "service awd" light came on, "service power steering" light was next, followed by brake system failure.car was still a little driveable and then it stalled as i was stopping.this vehicle is very dangerous.vehicle would not restart even though the button start system was telling me to step on the brake and push start.waited 3 hours for a capable tow truck (due to the awd). During the wait, the car's instrument panel would come alive, the panel gauges would swipe one time and various noises could be heard as if the car was starting but nothing was going on.this car is extremely dangerous.

Vehicle will state "battery saver mode" and start a high pitched whirring nose. At this point the alternator will either get stuck or short and will begin to overheat followed by a drained batter and stalling of the car. In my instance i had been driving the car on a city street when the message stating "battery saver mode" turned on then started turning off and on the radio, signaling low battery, abs active with them turning on an off before the high pitched sound began from the engine. I drove 2 blocks to my job parked and smoke billowed from under the hood directly from the alternator.i turned off the car and allowed it the smoking to stop. Once it was off i noticed all power in the car was drained and it would not turn on in any way or even open the trunk. It was towed to a mechanic who confirmed an issue with the alternator and had to replace it with a 180amp alternator to solve the issue.

I was driving normally on side street at 35 - 40 mph.i approached andwas entering an interstate on-ramp and as i started to accelerate the radio and ac turned off, abs light and anti-skid icon appeared on dash, exterior lights acted erratically dimming and then coming back on, message envelope appeared, bells were ringing, car lost substantial power on ramp as i was trying to accelerate onto interstate and then "battery saver mode" message appeared. I could hear a high pitched whining noise that started out of nowhere but seemed to subside after a few minutes but the car seemed to shake or shudder some but not horribly.almost like a rough idle but as i was driving. I was able to drive appx 5 miles to get off the interstate and park. Once i stopped and turned off the car, i did restart it to see what would happen and it started normally but after about 2 minutes, "power saver mode" came back on so i took car to dealership the next day and they said it was a faulty alternator. Alternator is model 4801778-ai, 180 amp model. Similar symptoms to recall p60 on 160 amp alternator.having this happen while i was trying to accelerate onto the interstate almost caused me to get rear-ended!

2013 dodge charger 50000 miles just driving down the road and i start hearing a whining sound i never heard before then 10 minutes later a message pops up and says my car is in battery saver mode.alternator went out suddenly with no warning the same that happens with the v6 models but crysler only recalled v6 models not v8. Thankfully my dad who had the exact same problem with his 2013 v8 crysler 300 warned me to park before i damaged my battery or my car stall on the side of the road like his did 4 months ago. It is irresponsible for crysler to only do a recall that covers half the cars that is affected with these bad alternators

Currently having issues with the abs and traction control light.vehicle was on recall for the alternator and the esc light came on. The recall notice stated that the alternator could cause the esc light to come on but when the alternator was replaced the light stayed on. Call dodge, they said that the light should reset itself but it didn't. This problem was not covered by the recall; however this problem was caused by the defaulted alternator which led to the other problems that i'm having. The abs caused the master cylinder to go out. Now i have to replace the esc module and master cylinder at my own expense.

If the alternator fails, the vehicle stall without warning, took the car to the dealership and been told that recall p60 is only for 160 am alternator and my is 180 but the same problem happen to my car.

I was driving down the freeway and a warning light come on saying traction control was turned off after about 10 mins it went off and then it came back on again. It has done this before and the dealership has replaced a sensor in the car now its doing it again.

Code p0303 which is cylinder three misfire, changed out coil on cylinder threebad camshaft and bad valvessteering wheel stiffens up doing left turn

Alternator recall. Engine interiors lights flash while off, car intermittently will go off. Power steering not available. Chrysler mechanics would not look into my power steering issues. Told me my alternator is fine.i do not feel my alternator is fine and want it replaced. I do not feel safe driving with my children.

Traveling on highway, cruise control turned off, abs/traction control light came on then check engine came on and the car stalled and would not go anywhere. I am thinking a faulty alternator. Needs to be on recall for alternators.

I was on the freeway when my cars lights started flashing and would get on battery saver mode and was hard trying to steer on to emergency lane until it completely shut off on me. Luckily i was half way on the slow lane and safe lane. It would not turn on and it started smoking when i tried getting out i was completely locked in and could not turn on the car to place it on park or open the doors. I had to get out through the window that i already had down. I then had to call my boyfriend to pick up the car in a trailer. When i was out the car i noticed red/pinkish water coming out of the car.

I was driving home on the highway and the car shift into neutral while i was driving

While driving, car started smoking and suddenly stalled giving a burnt smell.the car has no power what so ever. Car was towed home at own expense and towed to dealership after holiday. Was told by dealership the alternator was bad and so was the battery.

My dodge charger 2013, is having problems shifting gears. I put in another transmission and it still experiencing the same problems. Gearshift also sticks, while i'm in motion....

The abs light came on and thestability light is on too.got the car parked for the last two day.not sure if my break will go out on me. We had got rain everyday in north louisiana

First the abs lights came in then the traction control light came on took it to the delearship and had it repaired now its doing it again. Drive down the road at any speed the traction control light comes on.

48hrs after i received and oil change i was driving to victorville california from san bernardino california and as i was exiting my exit my car turned off as i was driving. Car would not start. Tried to jump it and the engine would not turn over. I towedit to the shop after some troubleshooting they said it was the engine.. It had locked up. I was quoted $2500 for repairs

Check engine light blinking and dealer told me the codes pointed to electrical wires ans censors but after checking the entire system there was no problems detected.they advice me to replace pcm and tune up which is normally due around 100.000 miles.

Update 03/11/2014: so i finally contacted the ?chrysler customer service" number and was advised that they were aware of the problem and would be forwarding my complaint to "the back order parts division". What the heck is that??? i had to return the rental that was covered in my warranty because it only provides for 5-days of coverage. (yes, you have a minimum of 5 days coverage even when parts are back ordered three weeks. I didn't know detroit was that far away). The customer service person then told me that the service manager would be calling me. Five days later, i still have not heard from the service manager. I did however, get a call from chrysler advising me to call the service department. Why should i have to do that? i'm the customer. They should be servicing me. So as of this date i have owned the car for four weeks, driven it for three days, and it's been in the shop ever since with no estimated time of repair and no compensation for my time lost at work, vacations cancelled, and extra incurred expenses of substitute travel. Not to mention that i'm still on the hook because chrysler won't even stand behind their product enough to at least buy it back. Thanks chrysler!!!

My car has cut off and turned right back on several times. I have taken it to the dealer and there are 0 issues.

The alternator diodes experienced a rapid failure resulting in a complete shutdown while driving on a city street at 50mph.low battery indicator light came on and within 1-2 minutes lost all car functions including antilock breaking, electronic stability control, and power steering.upon coming to a complete stop, could not put the car in park.car eventually reset and put itself in park.experienced a burning/melting smell. Had car battery jumped and car appeared fine.resumed driving, but experienced a complete repeat of events within just a few minutes.had car towed to dealership for repair.this appears to be the same problem as stated in recall p60/ nhtsa 14v-634.upon researching on the web, it is obvious that many others with the 180amp engine are experiencing the same issue; however, it is unclear as to why the recall was only for the 160amp.i can only presume that it is because there are less of the 180amp engines sold. This is an extremely dangerous situation!

While driving my 2013 dodge charger daytona at 60mph the vehicle just stopped working.the power just failed, i had no break or steering andjust had to pray no one pulled out in front of me or i would have hit them. The cooling system radiator water pump heater core is giving problems in a lot of theses cars the mechanic at the dealership says he sees it all the time the radiator in mine is coming apart at the seems and a police friend of mine says they have lost 3 due to the same problem then running hot and blowing up

Engine light came on, code was cam positioning sensor, had that replaced, dealer also told us we needed the computer re-flashed. Did that also, car ran good for about two weeks then died on freeway, took it back in they said it is the main computer, ordered that, waited two weeks for it to show up, got it installed, still wouldn't run. They dug in dealer and found that the timing chain guide shattered and the timing chain broke. Reading on line this was common in the 09 - 12 models, why isn't the 13 covered?

I brought this 2013 dodge charger with 86,000 miles usedin 10/20/2016 from south chicago dodge and when i got it, the car used to jerk when accelerating and i took it back to the dealer and told them about the car problem that i had. 1st time they had fix the transmission, 2nd, time the had put a new transmission in and now 2018 its having the same problem, its just somthing with this transmission or wut ever its connected to keeps burning out or keeps damaging the transmission. I don't know but i had a lot of problems with this car

The contact parked, exited the vehicle, opened the hood, and saw smoke. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact called the dealer (larry h. When i first purchased the vehicle it had a tick i asked the dealership what was that they told me it was a (hemi tick) that all chargers had that sound so i drove it to around 100, 000 miles and while driving down the road it begin to make this loud noise sounding like a truck . Now i took it to another dealership and they told me before looking at it what was wrong come to find out i have the same vehicle as every sheriff in our town and he has fixed everyone of their vehicles with the exact same problem this sounds like a problem that is going on with a lot of these chargers and this is just weird to me it's no coincidence that i have talked to at least 20 other people with the same car as mine with the same issue. I want to know what can i do about this problem.

When accelerating, the car lunges forward instead of speeding up smoothly like other vehicles. Seems to always occur at between the 1000 and 2000 rpm range. Has happened regularly since purchasing car

Radiator keeps going out causing vehicle to run temperature

Completed the recall on campaign 14v634000 , for the alternator.less than 2 weeks later, driving on a two lane road, going 35mph, the vehicle looses all power.after getting it to a dealership, now informed that it is a bad starter.the issues with the car have been all electrical: door window button stopped working, air conditioning does not work (dealer is unable to figure out problem).these are significant electrical issues with a 2 year old vehicle.

I am havingdifficulty with my dealership regarding the repair of t36 safety recall t36. I have contact the dealership several times regarding this repair, each time, i am told it is on order.this began in september 2017 and is on-going.

Vehicle developed rocker arm tick or 'pentastar tick' from the left side head during a highway trip , vehicle experienced loss of power when accelerating and slightly shook car at idle. This failure and the cause of the noise is due to faulty rocker arms

Having multiple problems with my charger which only has 7300 miles on it. Like others have mentioned, when at a complete stop, the car will jump forward.feels like transmission shifting late.then when driving and getting up to speed, the rpms will jump up but the car does not speed up.the last time the rpms increased, i quickly took my foot off the gas pedal, and the rpms continued to rise to 5k.both issues happen sporadically.have taken to dealer 2x.first time they had for 2 days, reprogrammed the transmission and said they fixed it.i took it home over the weekend and both issues still happened. Took car back in on monday and this time they had it for 4 days and gave me a rental car. Today i was told that chrysler is aware of the problem (valve body separate plate part) and is working on a fix.the part/fix was supposed to be available at end of may/early june, but since it's already 6/5, obviously that date was not an accurate time frame. (star case no. S1421000013date 4/9/14) the dealership states they cannot do anything to fix this until the part is available. They could not let me keep the rental car (warranty coverage time max out), and gave me back my charger to drive until they can fix it.i worry about the problems and what else could go wrong, or if the rpms will cause problems with my speed, cause a wreck, or just cause further damage to the trans/engine. Not a happy new car owner.

I was driving on the expressway at 60mph when all of a sudden the alternator light came on and the car rapidly decelerate from 60 to 19 mph. I smelled burning smoking smell and had to quickly get out of the middle lane and to the right to get off the expressway. I turned off the air conditioning even though it was a 100 degree day and the car regained a tiny bit of energy and continued forward at 25 mph.i managed to get it the few miles home but was smelling burning smoke the whole time. I could have been killed instantly when it shut down in the middle lane of the expressway.

Brakes- total brake failure of my car isn't heated up to the third line. Engine- loud ticking. Mechanic said 1 out of 12 lifters in driver's side cylinder has collapsed.power train- when i accelerate in over drive my check engine light comes on for a couple days. When i diagnose it, it says torque converter failure. (overdrive failure) so i'm guessing i have no overdrive until the check engine light shuts back off. (who knows)dodge/chrystler needs to check into the quality of the cars they're producing. I will neber buy another dodge/chrystler/jeep

Engine shut off while driving on the street. My safety was at risk as cars behind me almost rear end me and just avoid me as i did not break myself . So i did not have break lights on because engine just shut off not yet made an appointment to have it check not yet , need it to be check by dealer no light no warnings at all

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that the dealer (anderson toyota, 6510 showplace ave, lake havasu city, az 86404, (928) 764-2886) failed to mention that there were five manufacturer recalls on the vehicle before the vehicle was sold. The dealer (anderson chrysler dodge jeep ram, 3920 az-95, lake havasu city, az 86404,(928) 764-5153) was unable to determine when the manufacturer would be able to provide the remedy and repair parts for the recalls. In addition, when using the car jack, it was structurally unable to hold the weight of the vehicle and would collapse to the ground without warning. The manufacturer recalls were for the air bags, power train, and electrical system (alternator assembly). The manufacturer provided case number: 32367806 and indicated that they would follow-up with the contact. Headlight defect. Brand new vehicle. Drivers side high beam much too high. High beam only serves to light trees in front of vehicle when used. Reported to selling dealer, and left car for service. Service writer stated that they had corrected the problem. By "adjusting the high beam". After picking vehicle up, and testing the headlights, i found that what had been done is adjusting the entire driver's side headlight down such that the low beam was unusable. In effect, what they had done was adjusted the driver's side headlight so that the height of the driver's side high beam matched the passenger's side high beam. I returned to the servicing dealer, and showed them photographs of the light patterns resulting from their adjustments. They were at a loss as to how to correct the problem. They state that they have contacted the manufacturer in an effort to get permission to replace a defective headlight assembly. Upon last checking with dealer, manufacturer had not given permission to replace the defective headlight assembly. Searches on the internet show other instances of this problem for this specific vehicle type. It apparently can affect either the driver's or passenger's side headlight.

I put the car in reverse when trying to make a legal u-turn, when trying to put the car into reverse, i step on the gas only to realize the shifter popped back into neutral or park.when making a u-turn there is no oncoming traffic.by the time i'm able to complete the u-turn and place the gear into reverse there is oncoming traffic.i've been behind some big trucks that decide they want to back up.with a normal shifter you can quickly place the car into reverse.with this shifter i feel i'm going to get hit. This popping out of reverse has happened multiple times.this is a very dangerous shifter.i like the car although i've had to take it to the dealership for many repairs and it's only 3 years old.this car i feel may get me in an accident or kill me by not being able to shift quickly enough.i didn't know what to do until i got your website.please check into this. Someone is going to get hurt when you can't put the car into reverse because it pops out. Thank you

At times when driving either on a city street or highway, the transmission will downshift to low gear out of nowhere.ex:i'm driving on the interstate at high speeds and i hear that sound...like it has been thrown in 1st gear. At times have been driving 60+ mph when this has happened.the only way to "reset" is to hurry and pull over and restart vehicle.it has happened numerous times, but sporadically, during the past couple years. The most recent incident, just a couple of weeks ago in april 2018. The service engine light does not comes on.i notice a recall for transmissions, but my vin does not show it is needed on my model car.

2013 dodge charger sxt (awd) recently experienced strange "popping" noise when shifting from park into reverse, or drive into reverse.also, there was a strange noise/"thud" while driving whenever the "eco" mode would engage.after the noise got increasingly worse i took the vehicle to the dealership for service.the dealership discovered that the left rear axle nut was very loose.once the nut was torqued, the problem was resolved.unknown cause.vehicle is in good condition, with no accidents, and just under 30,000 miles.

On my way home from reno, nv i was getting onto the i-80 freeway when the check engine light came on suddenly and the car manually shifted to neutral ( in the middle of the freeway) the car began to loose power and then there was a loud bang in the rear of the vehicle.luckily, i close to an exit and was able to safely pull off.the car rmps were very night though the car was stalled. The dealer later diagnosed the car and was told the problem was the transmission and would have to be replaced.so far i've had 6 recalls with this car and 3 repairs under warranty.

Chrysler issued a recall on my vehicle in december 2013 but as of today cannot tell me when they will know how to fix it. I believe that this is unreasonable.also, they have not once told me whether or not it is safe to continue to drive my vehicle.i believe at this point i should be entitled to a full refund on this vehicle.

Ihave twovehicles of the same year. The same thing happened to both vehicles. Froma stop to increase speed, transmission sticks in first gear. I have since learned toeither stop and start againor place in neutral and then back to drive.

I was driving my 2013 dodge charger on the highway doing 75 mph when the rear differential locked up. The vehicle just passed 100,000 miles.

I just bought this car had it for 8 months and the transmission went out there is a recall on the 2013 dodge charger but not my vin number i would like with somebody to look into this thank you

I've check with jim burke dodge several times regarding the recall on the transmission for my 2013 dodge charger. As of today january 15, 2018 nothing has been done. I'm being told their isn't a fix at this time.

Twice i pulled in my driveway and thought i put the car in park and went to gather my things before shutting the car off and instead of being in park the car continued forward. The first time it scraped my side fence and the second until it hit my chain link gate- bending the posts and taking the fence gate off the posts. The fence gate them proceeded to fall on top of the hood of the car. Because i was gathering my items off the seat i didn't notice the car moving until i heard the crunching sound.

Started about 2 years ago. When going from 3rd to 4th gear car rpm would spike high then violently shift gears. Past few months it's starting to do it from 2nd to 3rd gear also. Also sometimes will not down shift to first gear after coming to complete stop. When this happens will start off in second gear will not shift from 3rd to 4th at all and will not let you shift manually. Have to pull over put it in park and turn car off. This has fixed the problem in the past but it is extremely dangerous and dodge really needs to look into making things right.

E-shift issues, indication comes on screen saying the e-shift needs service since purchase! also, pulled up at atm and put in park, check engine light came on and listed e-shift issue, car would not go into gear.mentioned e-shift issues with dealer since purchase and yet to be looked at or resolved. Every time i mention it, dealer employees seem puzzled and state that they've never heard of that before.

The car has no get up and go! there are millions complaints about this! driving the car will go in d1 by itself! car runs rough at times and good at times ... I took the car to dodge several times abs they keep saying nothing is wrong

When stopping the vehicle, the vehicle lurches badly right before it stops. The dealer says there is not a fix until the end of may/early june. We were told to pick up the car and continue to drive it until somebody notifies us. It is very alarming every time you go to stop.

Seat belt malfunction. Driver side seat belt malfunctions from time to time, where it does not release when pushed to disengage. It seems to get stuck in the middle, but the button also somewhat stuck in halfway position and only remedy is to push the buckle back in and try to to push to release. Minimum of 3 attempts before it actually releases.obviously in a parked position when this occurs. But besides frustrating, time consuming...it can be quite dangerous when per say your alternator catches fire and you cant seem to unbuckle your seatbelt...or any tyoe of accident where taking off your seat belt is crucial to your survival. Or another example, unable to exit vehichle when instructed to do so by law inforcment. Although quite extreme examples, such do occur.

We were driving on the interstate and my five year old son was quiet all of a sudden. He was sitting behind the drivers seat in a booster seat, seat belted in. He managed to grab the center shoulder strap of the center seat belt and wrapped it around his neck. He had begun to struggle trying to free himself and the seat belt tightened. I called 911 and at the same time was waving cars over to see if anyone has a knife i could use to cut it. Finally a gentlemen pulled over with a knife and i cut the belt to free my son.

Traveling on highway, cruise control turned off, abs/traction control light came on then check engine came on and the car stalled and would not go anywhere. I am thinking a faulty alternator. Needs to be on recall for alternators.

My car still moves after placing dodge charger se vin: [xxx] into park along with emergency parking brake then turning off motor. The car still moves on it's own, sometimes even after sitting over night. I start to open one of my doors and the car starts moving on it's own. All of this is done while being parked on "even surfaces", such as my driveway at home (stationary with motor off. Please help me someone. It's been doing this since i bought it off the showroom floor brand new. I am the first owner of this vehicle. Thank you. After car is started and you put the car into gear the brake paddle becomes rock hard and the car will not stop. There are times where under normal braking everything is ok. Under hard braking the brakes will not stop the car.

The abs light came on i took it to mr tire on 09/13/2019 to fix the problem and they said there machine to read the abs lights could not read it they disconnected it can i get a bag it read it saidthe left rear tire was having problems they connected back couldn't read it again it said it was fine but the abs light will not come off still on they did not charge me because they couldn't figure it out because the machine kept on saying they couldn't read it then it read it and when they tried to clear codes they couldn't so they think it is a recall problem the light is still on i took it to a autozone before i took it to mr tire but they couldn't read the sensors to and nothing came up on there's machines not reading the abs sensors. I don't know what to do any more about this abs like i'm scared that my brakes are going to lock on me and it will cause me to have a accident. This has been going on for about 2months know ikept taking it to different-autozoneand o'reillys to get it checked and it always says nothing comes up on there end but the abs light is still on i want to know if there is a recall on the abs

Power steering will intermittently quit working at first start, when driving down the street or highways and turning for the last 6 months.

Whenever i am driving and i turn left and the steering wheel is so hard to turn it seems as if it's stuck. I have come extremely close to hitting medians because the car just doesn't seem to want to turn. It only happens with left turns. The right seems to be okay. I don't feel safe driving my children knowing that the car doesn't operate properly. I checked recalls but there doesn't seem to be one. I have checked other forums and several 2013 charger owners have experienced the same issue.

The steering started grabbing and sqealing around 81k miles when i turn.sometimes it would become very hard to control when slowing down to turn such as at red lights or in a drive thru. No lights or sensors ever came on. From what i have read online there are several 2013 dodge chargers with the same issue.this is very dangerous and expensive to have repaired.i opted to have it fixed but i feel this issue should be looked into.i had the gear rack and pinion and power pump replaced.

My issue with the vehicle is the rack and pinion locking up on me when i turn left. I took it into dodge and they didn't want to do anything with it because the problem wasn't happening at the time that it was brought into the shop, this was when i had warranty that i paid extra for and everything. After it got worse, i lost control of it making a left and i hit a curb, which caused me to have to get a new tire. As i am driving to class or work, i go to make my regular left and my car keeps locking up as i turn so i have to force it out of the left turn. I would get the problem fixed, but the issue with this is that it is over $1000 to get fixed. Now my mother drives my car sometimes, and she has a problem with driving my car because of this, so she does not drive it anymore. This issue could be a problem for someone else because it can lock up and cause a bad accident, kill or seriously injure someone. This problem should not be happening considering how new the vehicle is and i think they should be investigate because they didn't fix it during warranty because the issue was not consistent. Based on forums, i also see other people have a similar problem. Now it is every time i turn on the car it locks up when i turn left, it is very unsafe.

When driving, power steering randomly turns off and displays "service power steering system". It decided to shut off power steering midway through a right hand turn causing me to drive over the sidewalk and almost into a parked car in the parking lot on the other side of the sidewalk. This is absolutely ridiculous, i dont feel safe letting my kids ride in this car at all, especially since i never know when my power steering is just going to randomly stop working. I was so excited when i bought this vehicle because of all of the positive safety ratings, however, because of this issue, dodge/chrysler has lost all of my business. Especially when a new power steering pump is $1280 which is more than a complete motor for some cars. The lives of my children are worth more to me than they seem to be to dodge. Unless dodge can do a recall on this part and fix it, since i am not the only person who has had these issues, this car will be going to a scrap yard, im not willing to sell it to someone else and possibly have their lives on my conscience.consumer testimony is longer than 2000 characters, please see attachment.

When turning left, power steering went out completely, i was unable to complete turn and went across two lanes of highway traffic and crashed into a ditch. Vehicle preformed fine prior to incident. There were 3 injuries in the accident.

My air bag for my steering wheel is defected, my controls that control the cruise, horn and radio, does not work at all.

Alternator recall. Engine interiors lights flash while off, car intermittently will go off. Power steering not available. Chrysler mechanics would not look into my power steering issues. Told me my alternator is fine.i do not feel my alternator is fine and want it replaced. I do not feel safe driving with my children.

My steering wheel got locked up on a highway going about 55 mph it was so hard to turn the steering wheel but i managed to pull over , the abs, light came on and it said service power steering system, i turned the car off for about a minute then turned back on and it was back to normal, but a couple weeks later it's doing the same thing in my driveway but now it won't even turn on at all and it just says service power steering system, so i thought maybe the steering pump was bad so i purchased a used one on ebayinstalled it but still no luck it still wont turn on...

I was driving home from work around 2am on tuesday morning 10/22/2013. I was just coming out of a construction zone and it just turned back to 55mph. I was going approximately 45 mph when all of a sudden i heard something in the front end and the steering wheel began to shake and it started moving back and forth without me moving it. I lost all control over the vehicle and it shot me over towards the right and slammed me into the guardrail. I continued to try to move the wheel to the left to get the car away from the guardrail but the whole car slid up against the guardrail before i could regain control and move the car away from the guardrail. This car was bought on 10/10/2013. I didn't even have it for two full weeks before this happened. There is almost $12,000 worth of damage done to the car. I have filed a claim with chrysler group regarding this and they inspected the vehicle but according to them there was too much damage to tell exactly what happened so they aren't willing to do anything for me. I am a very experienced and safe driver, someone who has driven tractor trailer over the road for 5 years and if you look at my driving record it would match up with what i am saying. There was something very wrong with that vehicle that night and i could have been seriously hurt or even killed. The fact that my wife and i bought this car less than two weeks before the accident and chrysler wants nothing to do with it is very disheartening. And i now have to keep driving this same car and worry every single day that something like this is going to happen again.

Transmission shifter sticks, difficult to move automatic gear from park, drive, reverse neutral..etcsqueaking noise in steering column

I was driving home and stopped to allow another car to turn in front of me, i flashed my lights once to alert the other drive to go and my windshield wipers came on at a high speed.i tried to turn them off and they would not stop, i turned the wiper switch backwards and forward and they still would not turn off.i had to drive home (in broad sunny daylight) with the wipers going very fast on dry glass!very annoying and upsetting - with no warning.when i arrived home, i turned the car off and back on and the wipers were still going.i contacted the nearest dodge dealership and they asked me to come there.i had to drive to them from my home about 10 miles to dealership with the wipers still going on dry windshield (very embarrassing and upsetting).once i arrived at the dealership the only way they could get them to turn off/stop, was to remove the fuse from the box that controls the wipers.i checked to see if there was a recall or some type of warning i should have noticed prior and there was nothing!this is a huge problem.my husband and i have not had any other problems with this vehicle since we bought it 5 years ago.we maintain servicing and take very good care of our vehicles.i'm very disturbed that this is not something that we should have been made aware of.is there anyone else that has had this problem?now we are being told that it's the steering column module?and its about $800 to repair! that's ridiculous!

When leaving on drive today steadingwheelhard to turn and was making vibrating noise hard to turn left to right

Loss of power steering..when stationary and when in motion.. Extremely dangerous and scary ...i have also heard from others owners of the pursuit model having the same problem...this should be a recall!

2014 dodge charge police car loses all power steering when turned left. We have 4 of these models at our police agency and all 4 are doing the same thing. After speaking with several other police chief's, they all stated that the electrostatic power steering pump was bad and it was a multiple thousand dollar fix for them. Our local dodge dealer says to fix each fleet car, the cost will be over $2000 per car. With this many issues, there should be an investigation and a recall. Further, when the vehicle is in motion and the steering wheel is turned left, all power steering is lost.

Power steering failure while i was driving. Luckily this did not result in an accident. No lights or warnings just went out

Without any warning or signs of failure, the power steering will completely go out when making a left turn. For younger drivers that have never driven a vehicle without power steering, this will make them crash. This is a police pursuit vehicle, so we make left turns at higher rates of speed than average driver. This could kill a pedestrian, the driver, another driver of a car they would hit. Reading forums, this is happening a lot and very expensive to fix for the average person. Please get this to recall status. We service our vehicles frequently and it gives no warning that it is not working, just steering failure.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated while reversing from his driveway, the steering wheel ceased with an unknown steering wheel warning light illuminated. The contact stated he turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to park the vehicle. The contact stated he continued to experience the same failure a week later. The contact called the local dealer as well as north star dodge chrysler jeep ram fiat (7242 san pedro ave, san antonio, tx 78216:(210) 249-7500) and the dealers were made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,250.

2013 dodge sxt 3.5 awd w/ 75k miles.rubbing noise in the steering column when turning, thought it just needed to be lubed (had that done at a non fca service site a few years earlier) had it at the dealer a couple months ago and they said the steering column to rack joint was worn out and about to come apart and needed to be replaced. It was replaced at a cost of $2kif it had been left further, the dealership said the steering column would have been disconnected. If this had completely come apart, it would have resulted in inability to steer. This would have been interesting to say the least. Owned the car since new, not abused, raced or wrecked. Called fca, they said that the defective joint was not covered under warranty and they had no other complaints. They offered no assistance and said that since it had been paid, they would not assist.has anyone else seen this? wonder if there is a class action, a recall or i just got a defective part

Driving in the city or highway the power steering will stop working and becomes uncontrollable/hard to get to the edge of the road. This condition is very unsafe and could cause an accident. The power steering will intermittently not work first start in the morning and turning corners. Checked and topped off the fluid level. It worked fine for two or three days and starts acting up again.

My 2013 dodge charger has power adjustable pedals. After owning the car for about 6 months, the pedals began to randomly move on their own. As i always kept the pedals in the fully retracted position, this meant that the pedals would move towards me and if my foot was on the accelerator pedal, the car would accelerate as the pedals moved towards me. The occurrences were random, sometimes happening multiple times within a few minutes and sometimes at low speeds and sometimes at highway speeds. Sometimes it wouldn't happen for several days, then start doing it again. I took the car into a chrysler dealer in early january, 2014 and they said they couldn't look at it for several days. I didn't take it back and put it on my to-do list as there were a few other things on the car that i needed fixed and was doing a lot of traveling. Regardless, the condition stopped in late march and didn't occur for over 3 weeks. As it was extremely cold in michigan, i thought that the weather might have been a contributor to the problem. But then, it started happening again in mid-april when it was warm, sometimes 6-10 times within several minutes. When trying to move the pedals back to the fully recessed position with the switch on the side of the seat, it wouldn't respond and i had to move the seat back and forth a few times before thepedal switch worked. There are and haven't been any obstructions even close to the switch and the car was in perfect condition. I suspect a switch problem but don't know yet.

I'm sorry but the the checklist that for the defective items on the vehicle and you guys were asking what defective items do you have and it wouldn't let me check mark the boxes him but pretty much everything that you have on that screen is wrong with my carit has broke down lost power all power i was driving about 45 miles an hour i had no control over the vehicle i had carbon monoxide a poison and i'm getting my blood work right now as we speak and i just disused this issue with one of the representatives there and i feel like this car is going to catch on fire because it's been overheating so i don't think it's real safe for me to drive it and take it to the shop yesterday and they told me come back today so it's running around and is buying parts for his car and it's hiring somebody to install it you know him but nothing majora certified mechanic has to do it and my engine it it's it's something wrong with that my emissions never been done the smog has never been done it's keeping miles and also the suspension iis not stable, these corrosion needs to be taken care of its on the top roof towards the front window. Also the suspension is squeking and rocking back and forth which it's n the rear end of the car... Also it's getting 11mpg 9mpg city it's not correct it should get 20mpg in city i drive with castion is getting about 9 to 10 miles a gallon in the city and that's not right i'm doing it by calculating because i don't this this cluster works .... Please call me

My 2013 dodge charger's door handle open and stays in the up position and you have to open from the inside to get the door open. The vehicle was in the park position and upon trying to enter the vehicle the handle lifted and was stuck in the upright position without opening the door. It has not latched since the initial incident and the door has to be opened from the inside of the vehicle in order to enter the vehicle. It is the driver's side door handle.

The trunk kept opening on it's own, without the key fob anywhere near it. I googled the issue and it looks like it's a very common issue on the charger and challenger models yet the dealership had never heard of it. It was 199.00 before tax for parts and labor for a new trunk sensor. The scary part is that it opened while the vehicle was in motion backing up as well.

04/15/2015 there was a mutual accident or faulty due to second driver being blinded by atruck on a merge into a drive thru banking at pnc bank n 87th and cottage grove chicago, illinois.i was sitting in the turn and the other car hit the vehicle at 45 mph on a 30 mph speed limit.there was minimal damage to the other drivers front bumper, also structural damage to mine.however, the entire bumper fell off the vehicle, there is approximately 4500 dollars worth of repairs to be done.at any rate the bumper should have sustained a dent or crack not the entire bumper fall off and all plastic pieces holding it together either.what it is with a 20k + car that a hit even at that speed would take the entire bumper off a car and all pieces have to be replaced along with the condenser.that's a really bum deal for a car that supposed to be safe.it can't handle nothing.but an older car can please investigate car structure for defects. Obviously there is and not fair at all please allow manufacture to do repairs not fair at all.who makes a bumper on any car plastic and the screws too.please help not fair

The trunk of the car opens intermittently. Does not open will driving.

The camber settings are not correct and they are not adjustable you have to buy a replacement camber kit to adjust camber to prevent tire wear on the inside this is not noticeable to someone just looking at the tire without getting underneath the car this causes you to replace your tires way before you need to.

Premature wear of bushings which caused replacement of complete suspension system.$3000 later i hope my vehicle will be safe to drive again.i purchased this vehicle in 2015 and have only put 17,000 miles on it since owning it.vehicle started just suddenly making very loud metal on metal clanking sound and lots of vibration.bumps in road made the noise worse.i was afraid to drive vehicle until i could get it into dealer when they had an appointment available because i did not wanna injure ourselves or others.i have read in other forums that i am not the only one this has happened to.is this a design flaw?is there a suspension issue?i am scared of my car now.

While making a left turn, from a dead stop, in the middle of the turn the complete wheel and assembly detached from the vehicle causing the vehicle to accelerate by itself and complete loss of control of the vehicle causing a one car accident and severe damage to the vehicle, hitting a road sign.this was a city street.there was a police report written in ashland virginia , 11/30/19,at 4:30 pm, # 18-46277. The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that within a week of owning the vehicle, there was an abnormal noise heard near the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (riverland chrysler dodge jeep, 601 belle terre blvd, laplace, la 70068, (985) 652-9600) more than twice and they had been unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The dealer had completed three unknown recalls prior to the motor turned on and hot air entered the vehicle and the vehicle stalled. The dealer replaced the alternator assembly but the contact was unable to determine if the recall repair remedies may have caused additional failures. The vehicle was not repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.

I have a 2013 dodge charger v6. At around 45k miles i noticed a wobbly sound coming from the front end of my car when driving straight at a slow speed. The car didn't feel or drive wobbly it just sounded wobbly. Because my car is no longer under warranty i didn't want to have to pay the outrageous fee the dealership would charge to diagnose the problem so i took it to local mechanic shop instead. They told me the lower control arm bushings needed to be replaced. I was a bit surprised to learn this because bushings going out at only 45k miles is very premature. I did some research on this specific issue to find that lots of people are experiencing this problem. Police officers who drive 2009 - 2014 dodge chargers are having to replace the tension struts on both sides every 15-20 thousand miles due the bushings being torn. Chrystler should be responsible for the financial burden of replacing these parts not the consumer.

2011-2014 dodge charger tension strut.i am the fleet parts manager at a municipality in texas.we currently have approximately 100 dodge chargers ranging from 2009-2014.we are having to replace the tension struts on both sides every 15-20 thousand miles due the bushings being torn.dodge will not recognize this problem and will not warranty these tension struts after the first time...something really needs to be done as the failure rate is alarming to me and the officers that drive these cars everyday.

The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

On august 18, 2017, i started my 2013 dodge charger and discovered that the uconnet system was no longer working. My hands free system could no longer be connected. After contacting uconnect, it was determined that the bluetooth module had stopped working. This is a problem when you are constantly in your vehicle for work purposes and depend on the hands free driving.

The car has no get up and go! there are millions complaints about this! driving the car will go in d1 by itself! car runs rough at times and good at times ... I took the car to dodge several times abs they keep saying nothing is wrong

The tpms system has failed.3 of 4 tires show a pressure but is not accurate, seems to be frozen on a prior pressure reading.4th tire position shows "- -".recently had a nail in tire that caused deflation.driver did not notice severely under inflated tire causing poor handling and increased risk of accident.passerby notified driver of low tire pressure condition.subject vehicle also has failed bluetooth module which may be related?vehicle has also been to dodge dealership for charging system, battery and alternator issue, even though subject vehicle is not included in current recall campaign for same issues.is there a correlation between overcharging condition and failing modules?

To whom it may concern, i'm writing this complaint about my agency failing to set an appointment and following back in order to get a recall appointment set. I'm in desperate need of assistance and guidance as to what steps i should take next for the recall on my car to get fixed. I called may 4th 2015 to south point agency 5210 ih-35 south austin texas 78745 [xxx] and got in contact with the so they say person in charge of recall appointments. Her name is [xxx], she was not very polite and communicated with me that there was a very long line and she would call me when the part was in. No name, recall number, car vin , no information was taken down. I called one week later due to not receiving a follow back like promised about my status and she yet again mentioned she would call me back. It's been a month now. She has not followed back, no appointment has been set, i'm concerned for my safety and my vehicle has been acting differently. Please guide me to what step i should take next. I will send this complaint and call the manager of the agency at this time as well. Thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The vehicle can no longer support the hands free safety features that are essential for mobility connectivity and safety during phone calls. Users are unable to reboot radio devices on this vehicle requiring dealer visit for diagnosis.diagnosis indicates failure of bluetooth module located near steering wheel.this appears to be a common problem for dodge biased on info boards, install videos and oem parts being sold to repair this.i have vehicles twice the age of this dodge with bluetooth still active so this feels like a premature parts failure that is putting my teen driver at risk until repaired due to lack of hands free connectivity.

My dodge charger 2013, is having problems shifting gears. I put in another transmission and it still experiencing the same problems. Gearshift also sticks, while i'm in motion....

While driving the battery saver mode warning illuminated. Within seconds the car made a loud boom sound and i could not put it into park. I had to apply the emergency brake and keep trying to get the car into gear. As i was doing that the car was flashing to blank screen and then suddenly the car turned off. I had the car towed to the dealership to see what is wrong.

Transmission shifter sticks, difficult to move automatic gear from park, drive, reverse neutral..etcsqueaking noise in steering column

Air conditioning system began smelling like mold/mildew after less than one (1) year of use. We have taken it to the dealership more than 3 times for this issue without resolution. There is not any water coming into the passenger floorboard that would indicate a simple condensate drain clog.first recommendation was to run the a/c on recirculate for 10 minutes, then fresh air for 10 minutes and repeat 4-5 times, then run the vent without a/c for 10 minutes.second recommendation was to change the cabin air filter (which has a recommended replacement at the 2 year mark).third recommendation was to spray an anti-microbial/fragrance solution made by bg into the evaporator housing.none of these recommendations have resulted in a resolution of the issue. My $40,000 car still smells like a barn.this is ridiculous to me considering i also have an 18 year old honda civic that has never, ever had this issue before, but my previous 2008 charger had this exact same problem after 3 years of ownership (also purchased brand new from the dealer). I am starting to think there is a problem with the manufacturing process where they are failing to adequately spray the evaporator components with an anti-fungal agent prior to installation into the vehicle which would prevent this issue from occurring.

While in motion on a city street it highway the speed control will no longer turn on when on/off button is pressed.

Cruise control switch will not turn on/off, and cancel button won't function, have had cluster replaced, and software updated twice(once at dealership, then at my mechanics), the "repair" only lasts for around 15,000 - 20,000 miles before it starts to act up again. Most times after turning on the vehicle the steering wheel/cruise cluster needs to get hit violently multiple times to engage(turn on) the cruise control, regardless on if vehicle is stationary, or in motion. Some times i end up making a 25 min drive(or more if it is happening on a road trip) on the freeway with out it even engaging(if it takes more than 3 min(time to freeway) to try to get it to activate, then i don't risk trying to get it active, but will try every couple of minutes to turn it on with out success.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving 1 mph and parking the vehicle, it suddenly accelerated. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a wall and pinned a caregiver. The air bags did not deploy. It was difficult to shift gears, which prolonged the injury. The fire department was notified, but a police report was not filed. The caregiver sustained minor injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The body damage was repaired. The manufacturer not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While reversing the vehicle, it accelerated on its own from 15 to 50 mph. As a result, the contact's vehicle struck three other vehicles. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed. It was unknown if a dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. In addition, the vehicle jerked before accelerating. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v240000 (power train). The failure mileage was 113,000.

The vehicle's cruise control was engaged and was set to 67 mph on an open, rural straight highway.a single tap and release of the + cruise button was initiated.instead of incrementing the speed up by 1 mph the accelerator remained engaged and the car quickly accelerated uncontrollably to 90+ mph.a hard press on the brakes was required to get the car to disengage the accelerator.quite shocked by what just happened i informed the passenger that was with me of the event that just took place.i then engaged the cruise control a second time and then again initiated a tap and release of the + cruise button.again, this should have incremented the cruise speed by 1 mph but instead the car again went into an uncontrolled acceleration until i stopped it by a hard press on the brakes.this condition was witnessed by myself and a passenger that was with me.the vehicle has 16,000 miles on it and has never had any maintenance other than what is performed at and by the dealer.

My dodge charger 2013, is having problems shifting gears. I put in another transmission and it still experiencing the same problems. Gearshift also sticks, while i'm in motion....

The adjustable gas and brake pedals move while the vehicle is motion without any type of activation by the driver, this causes acceleration or braking issues with the vehicle, when this occurs the pedals always move towards the driver not away, it occurs without warning and there is not apparent cause for it happening

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle erroneously accelerated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,900.

The car has no get up and go! there are millions complaints about this! driving the car will go in d1 by itself! car runs rough at times and good at times ... I took the car to dodge several times abs they keep saying nothing is wrong

Traveling on highway, cruise control turned off, abs/traction control light came on then check engine came on and the car stalled and would not go anywhere. I am thinking a faulty alternator. Needs to be on recall for alternators.

Wipers came on by it's self while driving down the street and will not go off i have had to take the fuse out jus to get them off and place it back in when it's rain it has also happen to a dodge journey that some one owns in my family also please fix the problem

My windshield wipers will not turn of while the car is runningf. They cannot be adjusted and the windshield wipers spray doesn't work either.

Back up camera is intermittent

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. While driving at various speeds, the windshield wipers would remain on and could not be shut off. As a result, the fuse required to be detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The camber settings are not correct and they are not adjustable you have to buy a replacement camber kit to adjust camber to prevent tire wear on the inside this is not noticeable to someone just looking at the tire without getting underneath the car this causes you to replace your tires way before you need to.

In motion going over a railroad track on mcmillan ave (city street) in north charleston, sc. There was a pot hole at the railroad track. While going over track/pot hole, heard a loud thud. Tire pressure sensor came on almost immediately. Took tire off and put on my spare. Took my tire and rim to tire shop to purchase new tire, it was then that i found out my rim had cracked, and that i would in fact need a new tire and rim.
