Dodge dealership in watsonville ca told me never to bring my car to be fixed by them again, mostly because i have a lifetime warranty and purchased an additional small parts lifetime warranty and every time i take it in to be fixed , it comes out with the same problem . But i digress.. I do not beleive they will call me at all for the recall airbag driver's side repair. It has been at least a year and a half , since the recall was issued.

I towed to hollywood chrysler jeep for car repair. They said they would fix take care of everything. 3/5/16 received a phone call from them at about 2:00 and was told that they had fixed the car and only had to replace the wire harness. I arrived at there between 3:30-4:00 on 03/05/2016. I paid they then gave me a business card for l.a. Towing told me i would probably need a tow soon. The steering wheel was upside down when i received the car back. I started the car it made a grinding sound and kept cutting off while i was driving from starter left loose.asked why they didn't fix it just have it towed back when it breaks down again.on 03/ 07 the car broke down again completely. From the time i received it from hollywood chrysler jeep the car kept cutting off at almost every ten minutes. On 3/7/16 it wouldn't crank anymore so i had to leave the car there. It got towed about 4-5 days later by ems towing. It is still there. The customer service supervisor he stated that they were not obligated to fix the car only to get it running and that's it. He said that they were not obligated to put the steering wheel on correctly even though they performed the recall. I then asked him to show me proof of the wire harness replacement and he stated that they repaired not replaced the wire harness. I then asked about the estimate to show exactly what was the issues because their description of the problem on the estimate page was only a reiteration on my observation. He stated they didn't have to tell me what was wrong, only get the car started that's all. He stated that they were not under any obligation to fix what was wrong, though the only reason i towed to them was to have it repaired.asked why did his mechanics leave the starter loose because that was the main issue that i brought the car there for. He said you don't expect for us to fix the whole car do you.

Driver airbag inflator recall:we have been trying to get our dealer in anderson sc to fix this recall issue since sept. 2015, it is now may of 2016 and dealer still says they do not have parts. I want to know why it is taking so long to get this repaired.

In the last four months, my 2009 dodge charger has stalled three times without warning.it doesn't sputter, then die.it just shuts down.the first two times, i was driving straight.this last time, 12/08/14, i was turning in a parking lot.i lost my power steering and my power breaks.i hit the concrete base of a light pole hard enough to blow out my front driver-side tire and bent the tie rod. There is quite a bit of damage to the front quarter panel, bumper and broke the headlight.not to mention, it has given me whiplash.i have not seeked medical attention at this time, but i have had it before, and am quite certain i have it again.i am not certain as to why the airbag did not deploy???i have read that this is a known issue, but there has not been a recall.i have seen other issues listed on this site regarding this particular car.i have had to replace a tpms on one of my tires as well.i haven't look at all the complaints.but i also have an ongoing issue with my car not starting, numerous times a week.i have taken it to the dealership at least three times, and they cannot ever get it to duplicate.when i turn the key, it just turns over like it is going to start, then shuts down, without a single sputter.kind of like how it is just shutting down while driving.the dealership replaced the battery in my key thinking that was the issue, nothing has helped.i would like to add my information into the group of individuals who have had problems with this particular car.after today's incident, my husband wants to get rid of it.i love my car, i just don't love the issues i am having with it, especially now that i am hurt.i am just thankful i am did not hit or hurt anyone else, due to this mechanical failure.

My family and i were involved in an accident and the airbags did not deploy, not one and it was the front end of car that was impacted on us hwy 19 in the rain. We did sustain injuries and are still working on our recovery, but had the airbags went off we may have been saved from some of the damage to our bodies. I just wanted to let you all know and i have already passed the info along to my lawyer, i just hope something is done so that when airbags are needed people receive them deployed on time unlike ours that never eventhought about coming out.

2009 dodge charger sxt, purchased back in may 2010, starting having check engine light problems in october 2010. The check engine light reads that i have a failure within my oxygen sensors. Purchased car used at 36, 252 miles. Woo hoo, the warranty on this car expired at 36,00 miles. I took the car into the "authorize" chrysler dealership of whom charged me $99.00 just to even look at my car, they called it a diagnostic fee from which they just hook car up to a portable computer and let the computer read the engine code. (the same thing that autozone or advanced auto parts does for free). They ran there machine on my car, read the code, and made me wait for about hour just so they could make me think they were actually doing something special when clearly i can see what's going on in the garage. Finally when they figured that i've waited long enough, the only thing they told me was that i had a bad oxygen sensor, shocker, since i already knew this because i took it to autozone were they ran the code, for free. Chyrlser said it would be around $300 to fix this problem. I was livid when they told me this and asked them to break down the $300 cost because i knew for fact that the parts were know more than $50. They told me parts were $63, and the rest was labor. Are you for real. It takes literally 2 minutes to change out an oxygen sensor, all you do is unplug the old one and insert the new one. I would do it myself if i had a car lift. I eventually ended up taking the car to an independent mechanic who preceded to fix my car for only $100. Surprise surprise, 2 days later my check engine light comes back on. I take it back to dodge who again charges me another $99 only to tell me that the mechanic "changed the wrong on", really, ok, not. Took back to the other mechanic who changed out other o2 sensor for free. Check engine light came back on. Took back chrysler dealership and they said he change the wrong one again, really, know really. Dodge/chrysler/jeep sucks.

All of my steering column components quit working, i have no turn signals, wipers, brights, cruise control, horn or power mirrors. Now the taillights illuminate only when they want to but brake lights work. I was stopped and informed that i had no rear lighting at all and that is was very unsafe. I've spent a lot of money replacing parts but nothing is getting fixed not too mention the safety aspect of it all with no turn signals or windshield wipers and the taillights or running lights not working unless i unhook the brake light switch which i also replaced. The airbag light comes on here and there as well. I believe it's the tipm but i need something done about this. It's been months since i've been able to drive the car and having everything working properly. I also take care of my vehicles and keep up on routine maintenance.

The win module has trouble communicating with the key fob and the vehicle shuts off while driving. Loose all power to dash. Happened to me on the highway and on the street while driving. Almost had an accident. Win module stops working all together

My electronic control throttle light continues to come on. I have read forums of this being an issue in dodge and chrysler cars from 2000 to 2011 models. I think at this point there needs to be a recall on the defect on all these cars. I am sick to my stomach on the costs to fix this issue.

I have had another incident where the automobile has had another mechanical malfunction.i was slowing down to turn at a stop light.it died, right before i started my turn.this is now the fourth incident with the same issue.thankfully i was not hurt this time.though i am still suffering from the incident from december 8th.my daughter was with me again when this incident occurred.she said, "mom the light is green".i said, "i know, the car is dead".i would like to know what is being done, before someone gets killed.

July 2012 i was in the left lane on highway 635 in dallas. I noticed my wheel was locked. Looked at the speedometer it was zero. Thats when i noticed my car had shut off. The radio was still playing and no code lights came on. Luckily no one was behind me the car stopped in the middle of the highway and i put it in park and it crank back up with no hesitation. It is now may 2013 after taking my car to the dealership 3 times they still cant find anything wrong with it. Since july it has shut off on me 10-15 times. I fear for me and my daughters life. I say a prayer everytime i get into my car. I have no other means of transportation. I've contacted chrysler corp and now have a case number. There is lawsuits against chrysler for this problem but not my particular car. Shuts off no warning very dangerous and scary.

Ignition won't turn off.

Engines shuts off without warning. Happened several times while parked or at stop lights.happen last while driving on interstate. Luckily, was able to pull off road without incident and the car restarted. Took it to dealership and they had to replace the win and have keys reprogrammed to system. My car is past the warranty so the repair was very expensive. Have heard from other dodge owners with similar problems that have had these parts replaced several times. I have researched and found multiple cases and not one significant cause as to why this keeps occurring. Why hasn't dodge recalled these cars for this potentially very dangerous problem?

Since december, i have experienced a very noticeable flicker of the headlights and dash lights. This has caused oncoming drivers to flash their headlights in response to the flickering. The dealership has replaced my battery and checked the electrical system.when i googled"dodge charger flickering headlights", there were posts by a substantial number of charger owners experiencing the same problem, some are experiencing headlight failure.i believe this is a safety issue worthy of investigation.

S10 appropriate handling-email from re problem with her 2009 dodge charger.*tgwthe consumer stated while driving, all of the dash lights illuminated and the vehicle completely shut off. She lost control of the steering wheel and the vehicle decelerated quickly.the consumer stated she realized she need to do something, so she turned the key off then back on.the vehicle started to hesitate and then started moving again. The consumer immediately took the vehicle to the dealership, but upon inspection they could not find anything wrong. However, they did order a new computer to be installed. The new computer was finally installed and it was assumed everything was fine, until the vehicle started exhibiting issues one morning as she was leaving for work. It took three tries to start the vehicle. So, the dealer performed another repair which was the replacement of the ignition coils. A representative from chrysler was scheduled to test drive the vehicle. Prior to him arriving, the dash lights illuminated on the dashboard again. The consumer was informed again, they could not find any codes to fix the problem.

Change tires and the low tire light doesn't come off. Trunk will not unlock from key fob or inside car. Key hole to open door easy to break into. Car keep cutting off while driving on several occasion. Cut off while in the middle of intersection.

Our 2009 dodge charger was in the garage, i noticed smoke on the outside of the house and went into the garage and our car was engulfed in flames.the fire caused extensive damage to the garage and smoke & water damage to the entire house.this the summary from the fire inspector that was sent out by our insurance company:based on scene observations, witness interviews, and information received, the cause of the fire was most probably related to an electrical failure involving wiring and or components of the 2009 dodge charger.more specifically, the fire occurred in the engine compartment on the driver side.the cause of the fire was an electrical event occurring in the origin area resulting in the ignition of combustible wiring insulation and other combustible materials within the engine compartment area left side.

2009 dodge charger. Consumer states vehicle lost all power while driving *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle stopped abruptly, the power steering was disabled, the radio died and all the lights on the message board flashed.the engine was completely dead. The next day, the vehicle was taken to the dealer.the consumer was informed the intergrated power module was not working properly and had to be replaced. The service advisor explained that the intergrated power module is the computer that controls the fuse box.when the proper signals can not make it to the computer, it causes everything wired to the fuse box to shut down.unfortunately, the problem occurred again on july 6, 2010. The consumer was on the highway, when the vehicle lost power and shut off.the following day, she started the vehicle, switched the gear from park to drive, the engine shut off, all power was lost and all the message board lights began flashing. She applied the brake, put the vehicle back into park and turned off the ignition. After a few minutes, it started with no difficulty.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. However, they were unable to find any error codes and they were not sure what the problem was.

Had to replace the tipem, win and have key fobs reprogrammed to system. Have heard from other dodge owners with similar problems that have had these parts replaced several times.i believe parts are defective causing these problems with the vehicles. I have researched and found multiple cases and not one significant cause as to why this keeps occurring. I even asked the dodge mechanic and he stated the he doesn't know what would cause this to happen. As new as these vehicles are with maintenance upkeep this shouldn't happen and it usually occurs when the warranty has expired. This seems to occur most with 2006 thru 2009 models.

In august 2015, my car would not start so i had to replace the ignition module and purchase a new key ($1000). On october 30, 2015, i was driving on the highway at night in the rain when my car just shut off. I was not able to steer at all but i managed to pull off the road.everything else in the car worked (lights, radio, everything on the panel) the only thing that did not work was the car. My car will not start back up. I had to tow the car back to the dealership. How could something like this happen when i replaced the ignition module that seems to be the cause of this problem?i am very lucky we were not involved in a terrible accident or even cause a death.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v567000 (electrical system) and 15v313000 (air bags) however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had experienced a failure but could not provide details. The failure mileage was unknown.

Wireless ignition node shorted out.

Driving at highway speed my car suddenly lurched as it lost power.i was able to pull over to the shoulder and turn the car off but it would not restart.

Prior to my mishap i had no signs of malfunction i was driving early one morning in my car just shut off and will not restart come to find out there's a recall on my tipm but the recall was only for a certain timeframe and my car was manufactured literally few months after the recall dates ended no i have a really problem under the fuse box and i feel it's not fair that the recall was only for a certain time. When i have all the same parts as the recall car is dead my car was manufactured in december 2008 but got the 2010 tipm dude box i spent a large amount of money trying to diagnose and fix the problem and so we realized it was the internal relay .is there anything i can do about this

Tipm failure causing remote start failure

Fob:car will not start

I was driving my 2009 dodge charger about a year ago and the car just cut off while going down the road. I was able to pull over (lucky i avoided causing an accident) and it restarted with no problem. I have had no other problems until a month ago i came out of the mall to go home and the car would not start. Finally after 10 minutes of trying and praying, the car started right up and got me home which was about 50 miles away. It would not start again after that. I have replaced the battery and many fuses. The car started one time when we first replaced the battery but as soon as i turned it off it would not start again. We figured out how to start the car one more time to get it to the dodge dealership. I am having to replace the ignition module and purchase a new key. I am looking at a $960.00 bill. There was a recall on this exact part for the manufacture date of may 2007 - may 2008. My car was manufactured august 2008. I believe this faulty part was also used on my car. After reading all the complaints for this year model, we should be included in a recall. $960.00 just to replace a key!!!!

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. While driving 20 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch and ignition harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The keyfob will not crank the car. It is detected in the ignition but will intermittently not crank the car. This, in turn, making me late for work. I am a nurse and a single mother and can not afford to risk my job nor can i afford the $300 it is was quoted to replace a key that may not even work.

My 2009 dodge charger would not start dealer indicated the ignition module is defective a friend of mine who owns a repair garage told he had seen this on a dodge charger three times in the past 4 weeks.this may explain why it is taking the dealer 4 weeks to repair waiting for the part.

I came out of the store and turned the key fob to start the ignition, the car started and then shut itself off, arming the anti-theft system and locking me out of all functions of the car.

Vehicle is a 6 cyl. Used police package unit with 107,200 miles.on several occasions, vehicle has "shut off" while driving requiring putting vehicle in neutral and restarting engine while pulling to a safe location without power steering or power brakes.the key automatically turned to the "off" position each time, causing the engine to shut off.also, key could not be removed and while in the off position, all accessories still worked.finally was able to remove key and took vehicle to dealership.service advisor could not remove key.appointment made to check problem (1st one 4 days later), and when home, had to disconnect battery to shut off everything.only other recall is for the takata airbag replacement where parts are still not available after almost a year.very dangerous with vehicle shutting off while driving, particularily for a novice or insecure driver. Frustating and unsafe to have to leave key in vehicle and having high dollar battery go dead...just replaced it last month for $215.00...

I own a 2009 dodge charger. When cranking engine all the check lights came on (including engine, coolant, tire check, etc.). The temperature gauge was also all the way cold.i cut the engine off. The engine was slow to crank but did crank. I drove not even a half mile and the temp gauge was going from cold to hot and then the engine stopped. When i opened the hood i found my car was smoking and the coolant was almost bone dry. Prior to this incident no check lights have appeared. I took my car to landers dodge in southaven, ms they ran a check and performed maintenance to my car and added coolant. Now, a month and half later my car is smoking again and coolant is extremely low. While my car is smoking and almost no coolant, temp gauge is not detecting my car running hot. I believe my sensors are not working correctly and have a faulty coolant container. Thanks!

The radiator fan connector is burnt. Now radiator fan won't turn on, causing car to heat up and coolant to boil.

While driving on a highway i heard a rattle in the engine, then it heard something break off, my brakes became hard i was having trouble stopping.after i couldn't accelerate and the car turned off. While trying to restart my car i could only hear a click then the engine started to smoke. I had recently experienced a harsh gear shift while driving.

My electronic control throttle light continues to come on. I have read forums of this being an issue in dodge and chrysler cars from 2000 to 2011 models. I think at this point there needs to be a recall on the defect on all these cars. I am sick to my stomach on the costs to fix this issue.

The engine is making noise. My mechanic said the timing chain is bad. The oil pressure is low.

The vehicle engine shut off while driving the the expressway.this incident was very dangerous. There was no warning. It just shut off. Please give me some guidance with this matter.

The dealer refuses to honor the recalls on the engine light and tire light on, and is claiming that it does not affect my vehicle. I just brought this car from them and now i getting no where with this people. I paid 95.00 dollars for nothing and the lights still on and they told me that the reason they wont refund my money back is because they have to paid the mechanic, i believe that sold me a lemon. My resolution is to fix this car and refund my money. Thanks.

The win module has trouble communicating with the key fob and the vehicle shuts off while driving. Loose all power to dash. Happened to me on the highway and on the street while driving. Almost had an accident. Win module stops working all together

After taking care of this car i've notice that the manufacture has failed me. I began to think i was the only one that this has occurred to. And after further review it seems to me that most all chargers are having the same issue. Which i think that dodge should be held accountable for replacing the engine in the vehicle. If anyone is like myself you hate to give up such a beauty. But at this time i'm almost heartbroken to say it must be done. I feel whoever is responsible for making this engine should consider replacing not the same model in the vehicle but give a better brand. Or is that can not exist be considerate enough to give the owner have of what they have invested into the vehicle. But you must show proof. Dodge its not right and someone should be held accountable especially if we have to pay a car payment or cash in hand for this beauty. Please consider this letter to uphold your end of the bargain. It is only fair. My engine is gone. Sign unsatisfied costumer

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. While driving 55 mph, the timing chain detached from the engine and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun out of control and almost crashed into oncoming traffic. There were no warning indicators illuminated; however, a lightning bolt icon flashed on the control panel after the failure. Within the last month the vehicle has been difficult tostart, then whiledriving it suddenly and without warning, completely stops running. Then it is hard to steer and has no brakes.this is frightening and happens without warning.the service dept at the dealership diagnosed and scanned for codes and tested fuel pressure and found pressure was good and found no codes. They installed a new battery and cleaned the throttle.the vehicle started and ran well for one week, using it for short trips to the store.however, using it to go 20 miles away, the aboveproblem showed up again.at the top of a hill the car engine stopped, going 30 mph going down the hill.no brakes, no steering, and luckily no accident!!! this if very frightening!!!this vehicle is going back to the dealership on wed, mar. 11, 2015.this 2009 vehicle, according toyour website, has had this dangerous problem since 2010.this is hazardous and should be eligible for recall.

I'm writing to complain about the hemi tick that chrysler seems to keep overlooking knowing that there is a problem with the lifters not getting enough oil to them and causing them to eat away at the camshaft this is costing us a lot of money to replace these and i think that chrysler should be held accountable for this issue and that they should be made to cover the cost of parts and repairs for this its a shame we have to pay for something they know is an issue and they just cover it up as (oh that's common with the hemi) no its not common because its a hemi, its common because its an issue with the lifters they won't fix even though they know what it is i think this should have been recalled by now something needs to be done they should be made to recall and repair this problem it happens when stationary on any street or highway its an issue by far its been going on since they brought the hemi back in 2005.

Our 09 dodge charger timing chain broke and we had to pay $5500 to replace the engine! we always changed the oil every 3,000 miles. How do i get our money back???

The vehicle was taken to the shop for a coolant leak. In the course of the repairs, significant engine sludge was discovered in the engine. Once the repairs were completed, the engine ran for approximately 30 min after repairs completed before being unable to start and going back to the shop. They now say that a complete engine overhaul is needed.

While driving the car at 40 mph on the highway the fan blades broke off and went through the radiator. This was a problem on our 2008 dodge chargers and there was a recall initiated by dodge for the 2008 models. Dodge stated there was no recall on the 2009 dodge chargers for this problem. The is on the police package charger with the hemi.

While driving home (city streets - 30-40 mph), i noticed that the temperature gauge in my '09 charger rt began to climb. I had to stop a few blocks from home to let it cool down. A couple of hours later i added coolant & drove the last 0.3 miles. At first i thought a radiator hose had failed, but i found that the plastic blades on one of the twin electric cooling fans came apart & destroyed the radiator. A web search showed that chrysler issued "customer satisfaction notification l08 - engine cooling fans " in 2011 for the 2006-08 model years describing the exact problem i experienced. I called chrysler & opened case # 59502947. After a few days of phone calls i was told that my car wasn't part of that recall & fca would not assist with repairs or even supply the parts. A local dodge dealer stated that the replacement fan kit (cbhzl080aa - cooling fan package) cost dealers about $10, but was not for sale to customers; i had to by two fans individually for a total of about $70. In addition, i had to buy a radiator, thermostat, hoses, clamps, and a radiator cap which added up to hundreds of dollars. I spent the weekend gathering pats & then repairing the vehicle.

The problem is with the 2.7 timing chain and engine. Chrysler had issues with this problem and had filed for bankruptcy. There was a class action regarding this issue. However, chrysler corporation still exists and the customers with the problem still have the same engine issues. There should be a recall for the 2.7 engine.

My 2009 dodge charger and many others i know about will stall for no reason at any speed. It has happened to me on several occasions which results in loss of all power, steering, brakes etc. Have taken to dealer but since no computer codes were thrown, unable to find problem, help!!!!

I purchased this vehicle used in september 2010.the vehicle had a clean car fax report when i bought the vehicle.i drove the vehicle to work on saturday and back home saturday evening and parked the car in the driveway.when i went to start the car on monday to take my kids to school the car did not start.i had the car towed to an independent mechanic assuming it must have been the starter.to my dismay the mechanic told me i needed a complete valve job for $2,000.00he told me to take the car to the dealer to see if the car was under warranty for engine failure cause it is no way a 2009 should need a this type of work this soon.he charged me $84.00 for his inspection fee and diagnosis.i had the car towed to jeep /chrysler dodge dealership in ontario california where they told me the same diagnosis except it would cost any where from $2,000.00- $4500.00 for the repair.the dealer charged a fee of $384.00 just to come up with the exact same diagnosis the independent mechanic previously told me for a fee of $84.00.i have contacted chryslers corporate office 12/07/2011 and expect a call back within 24 hours.to add insult to injury i had the dealer attempt to include the repair of a timing belt and tensioner for $400 that i did not even need.fortunately i had inspected the belt myself and was told by the independent mechanic that the belt and tensioner are in perfect working order.i addressed this with the service advisor and he told me i might as well get it done because it is due at 100k miles.i am disgusted that the dealer would try to take advantage of a customer in need of help. This unethical attempt to get more money from me made me question what other fraudulent repairs are on my estimate.i believe dodge should stand by their product and do the right thing.i am prepared to go to the media if chrysler does not do the right thing.

I bought my car used approximately 3 1/2 years ago. It was driving fine up until about 6 / 7 months ago when it started stalling on me while driving. It has done this to me at least 15 times since then and lately has started to not start. There is hesitation at times and sometimes it just dies. The most concerning to me is when it dies while i'm driving, no warning, and then i lose my power steering. The last 4 times i've been able to pull it over and restart it but i have a 4 year old child and i am fearful of this happening and loosing control of the car. I will be calling the dealer this week but after reading the complaints and their outcomes i'm not hopeful that this issue will be resolved. Very concerning that this issue does not seem to be considered important to the manufacturer.

This is a dodge charger in the austin independent school district's police force fleet. After performing routine maintenance and upon start up, the auto began to have a hard engine knock. After further investigation we found that a valve seat had failed and entered the piston cylinder causing a catastrophic engine failure. The engine is a 5.7 hemi. This is the second dodge 5.7 hemi to have this type of engine failure in less then a year, and at about the same engine mileage. These cars are pursuit vehicles, and if this failure had been at a higher speed serious injure, or death could have occurred.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed that white smoke emitted from the underneath the hood. The temperature gauge suddenly increased to hot. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and towed to an independent mechanic. The engine cylinders were replaced due to a defective head gasket. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact experienced the identical failure on the day it was repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic for the second time where the head gasket was replaced. The failure occurred for the third time and the vehicle was currently being repaired by a different independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Vehicle made loud bang from engine compartment and began to loose speed from 58 mph. Vehicle completely shut off after emitting an acrid burning smell. Towed to thomasdodge who states"engine locked up".

Two weeks ago i purchased a 2009 dodge charger. On tuesday october 21, 2014, i attempted to start my vehicle and found that the engine would not start. On the instrument panel i could see a red light blink indicating the theft system was activated, the mileage displayed, and the open doors indicator was activated. My remote allowed me to lock and unlock my doors and open my trunk.i attempted to jump start the battery which worked perfectly. I took additional steps to insure the problem was not the battery by having it tested. The result was 100%. Upon researching the symptoms online, i found there is an ongoing problem with the win module in my vehicle. I found more than 100 complaints and youtube videos by owners with the same problem yet no recall has been created.when will chrysler llc be held accountable for this known and well documented problem with 2009 dodge chargers and give them some relief? it should also be noted, a recall was made for 2008 dodge chargers for the same problem. I'd like to know what steps i need to take for a recall to be done. My vehicle is currently sitting idle. I fear having the same experience gm customers have had where the company is aware of a manufacturing issue that they refuse to address.i have already spoken to chrysler llc and my dodge dealership and they refuse to issue a recall even after acknowledging this is an ongoing issue with 2009 dodge chargers. One employee even stated, "i'm surprised they haven't done a recall yet. I've fixed this problem over 1000 times in the short time i've been here."

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. While driving unknown speeds, steam emerged from the hood of the vehicle and there was a coolant leak. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The contact researched the failure online, repaired the vehicle, and determined that it was a design flaw. The contact sent the manufacturer a bill for the repair. The failure mileage was 102,000. The consumer stated the cooling fan blades exploded and cut holes in the radiator causing a major coolant leak.

I purchased a 2009 dodge charger in 4/11.i just performed the first oil change for me on 8/28/11.i noticed while removing the oil plug, that it was very tight and hard to loosen.after removing the plug and oil, i installed the plug back into the oil pan and it would not tighten all the way.i realized there was a lot of aluminum debris on the seal of the plug which would be from when someone cross threads and strips the threads of the oil drain plug hole.the last entity to do an oil change on this vehicle was the dealer i purchased this car from.when confronted about this, the service manager at the dealer told me it was "common" for these drain plugs to strip out after a few oil changes.this is unacceptable as i should not be already having to replace the oil pan on a vehicle with 52000 miles on it and a clear violation of safety for the environment.weakly built oil pans can be easily stripped and end of leaking oil out onto the ground which is unacceptable and hazardous to the environment.

Dashboard lights not working anymore. Sometimes it fades in and out and sometimes nothing at all.with the engine, when i 1st start it while cold i'll wait 30 seconds or so and put it in drive and it sounds like it wants to die on my kinda but doesnt.was told wait til car is warmed up and muffler noise will go away once it warms up. All of this while it is parked in driveway.

In august of 2011 i hit a large piece of semi tire tread. I realized before we returned home to iowa that i had no tail lights.in january 2012 i took my car into the dealership where i purchased it to find out why the car had such a bad shiny and the tail lights were not working. The frame was bent from the tire, the transmission also tsome damage and of course the car was seriously out of alignment. When the car was returned the tail lights were working. About a year later i was pulled over and given a warning because my tail lights were not working. I took the car back to the dealership because of the tail lights. Once again they worked when i picked it up and i didn't think about it again. Then recently i was pulled over again, no tail lights and a warning. I made an appointment with the dealership, took my car in(third time), lights and trunk were working properly. I decided to check my lights when i got home and guess what, no tail lights. I now drive with my flashers on since the last pullover. I am taking the car back on thursday, december 18, 2014.this is try no. 4. I also found out with that my life time warranty on my car no longer existed. I had received a card to bring my car in to have it checked out. I called the dealership three times leaving a message each time which included my phone number but never received a call back. At this point i decided it must not be a big deal since no one was returning my calls. I don't believe the car saying anything about this affecting my warranty. I do feel fortunate that i don't have to drive my car a lot after sundown and that i have not been awareness in the dark. I was injured in 2001 and don't need any further injuries to make my pain levels worse than they are now. I saw a young girl on television tonight and is now paralyzed because someone hit in the rear end of her parents car.

Car is having afuel leak from the top plastic part that connects the fuel lines to top of the passenger fuel pump. This seems to be a common problem from the research i have done and it is a huge fire hazard. These cheap plastic parts with little protection other than just the seat should not be happening. I am afraid to drive my car as there are multiple stories of people being burned alive due to fuel leaks.

Auxiliary fuel pump module recently started leaking. (behind passenger seat) after closer inspection the top of the fuel pump is leaking...the plastic itself. Not the line or connection. I have seen numerous complaints and there is does not seem to be a recall. This happens whenever my car is running.

I have repaired the entire front suspension system, brake system, sway bar bushing, water pump, etc. Now the head gaskets blew... Are there any recalls or ways you can refund me?

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. The contact stated that when she attempted to change the gears, the vehicle failed to shift out of park.the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 88,000.

The computer in the transmission is making my car jerk from 1st gear to 2nd gear. I have a lifetime power tran warranty yet they say that there is no "fix" for my car, basically i have to either drive it like it is or buy another one and i do not think that is fair for a loyal customer like myself.every time i call, they manage to loose my lifetime warranty, this last time the customer service person told me i didn't get my transmission serviced for the 10 year mark, i told them i did in march when dodge said it was due - he now tells me that i got it done too early to make my warranty valid. What kind of mess is that. I just want my car fixed yet dodge is telling me that they are not going to provide a patch or even create one. When i drive, mainly early mornings, my car will do a hard shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear. No matter uphill, downhill, rounding a curb, straightaway, highway or streets.

I have been chasing a abs/eps light issue since the dealership did an airbag recall. Replaced all wheel sensors, rotors, brake pads, calipers and finally returned to the dealership for them to replace the angle sensor. 5 minutes after leaving the light came back on. Returned and they said the steering column measured 37mm instead of 34mm. This item has never been replaced or damaged and without replacing this item then i'm being told this sensor will continue to be an issue. This vehicle is not my daily driver because i have been concerned on safety issues. Now i know it was a manufacture issue. Chrysler refuses to help me because they stated the dealer has not determined this to be a manufacturer defect. In 2010 and 2012 this issues has come up in the media and the manufacturer was placed on notice but failed to recall because not enough cases were located.

My brakes on my 09 charger make noises when i stop or drive a slow speeds. I only have 5,000 mi my car.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. While driving approximately 50 mph, the brake calipers broke in half. The vehicle swirled in the opposite direction so the contact pulled over. The left rear tire was punctured as a result. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who replaced the brake caliper. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000 and the current mileage was approximately 67,400.

I was driving down a residential street coming back from the grocery store traveling between 25-30 miles per hour and had to make a left turn coming up, i put on my left turn signal to turn at an 4 way intersection and the switch was hard to push down, which never happened before. I proceeded in making my left turn and as i was turning i could hear something in the steering wheel popping constantly and the turn signal stayed on and the esp light sounded and the orange esp icon light appearedon the dash. As i was turning the wheel back to the right, hearing the popping the steering wheel locked up on me and i couldn't turn the wheel at all.i had to come to a stop, put my hazard lights on so traffic could go around me. I put the car in park and tried to turn the steering wheel back to the left then back to the right and the steering wheel came free but the steering wheel you could still hear the popping.i precededto go home and the steering was okay.i checked the steering fluid and it was fine once i got home.when i use my turn signal, the turn signal gets stuck and will not turn off.if i try to turn the signal off by the switch it just turns on the left signal and vice versa. I drove it later on that day and i didn't have any more problems.i thought maybe it was just some fluke or ice stuck underneath the car from the winter weather.my wife drove to work yesterday and she stated on her way home she tried to make a right turn and use the switch to turn right and it was stiff like it didn't want to turn on and she proceeded to turn right and again the esp light came on and the steering wheel starting popping again and it got stuck in her making a right turn.she stated she had to turn it back to the left really hard so she would cause an accident.is this something that may be a recall? ....updated 02/06/17

When operating steering became difficult to control.examination by a certified mechanic disclosed a leak in the power steering hose which was found on later year similar vehicle engine.crimping was faulty.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph and making a right turn, a popping noise was present coming from the steering column before the air bag and traction control warning lights illuminated. The steering wheel suddenly could not be turned in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that clock wheel needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2009 dodge charger. The contact stated that the tire pressure sensor repeatedly illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to two different independent repair shops and the contact was informed that the light would stop illuminating if she continued to drive the vehicle. The contact also stated that the vehicle was being examined for routine maintenance when she was informed that the tie rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failures continued. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 66,000.

Driving car when using blinkers the steering would lock up when you gave itquick jerk it would snap and be ok to drive took it to shop they tell me i neednew steering column .that mine is too long for the cartech measured 34.5 max is 34+/-.7. Then tells me the housing was broke and clock spring was loose they put a new clock spring in and told me i still needtwo more partsscm and sas .this was at a dodge dealership.quoted me 2850.00 for new steering column don't think so. Just for the clock spring put in cost 530.93.

I was pulling into a parking spot at work when it felt like i lost power steering.i was able to force the car to turn to avoid hitting another vehicle.however, because the parking lot was almost empty, i did try driving to see if it was actually loss of power steering.every time i turned to the left, i heard a clicking noise, but it didn't feel like the power steering was gone anymore.right after work i drove the car to the garage i deal with.while driving i noticed that the turn signal would not disengage.the mechanic found that the clock spring was broken.he informed me that the clock spring controls the airbag along with other features.i feel this is very dangerous!it could have been a disaster if i had been traveling at a high rate of speed when the clock spring broke.the mechanic told me that the clock spring is made of plastic.i'm not sure why something so important wouldn't be made of something a little more durable. I feel there should be a recall for this part before someone is seriously injured.

The column shifter disengaged while i was driving. Luckily it happened while i was parking because i had both my children in the car with me at the moment.

Power steering line blew out at the crimp. Lost all power steering. Damaged pump. Major safety issue while driving.second line to go bad in 2 years.

Have a leak in the power steering line at the crip.

Key stuck in ignition.....have to wait approx. 5 to 30 minutes after i stopped the vehicle and it is in park .....and then my dear $ 60000 car decides to release the key.

I was taking a left hand turn at aprox 15 mph an oncoming car changed lanes from a turn only lane and sped up through the intersection ( police estimated her speed at 35-45 mph ) she t boned into my passenger side. My car is being totaled. I have side impact airbags and headliner airbags. None deployed. My structure is twisted and bent facing the back of my car. My frame, my suspension is mangled.

I had the right of way driving and a lady t boned me on my driver side. My car was declared totaled but at no time during the collision or even after did my airbags deploy.

While leaving the gas station i heard a loud cracking sound coming from the roof. I did not pay any attention to the sound until later that week when i washed the car and saw a quarter inch crack on the roof next to the sunroof. I took the car to a local dealership to show them the crack and i was told that it was nothing they could do because my car was out of warranty. I did some searching on line and came across many customers with similar issues. I didn't press the issue because i didn't know what options to take. My roof is starting to leak due to the crack and i developed another crack on the opposite side. The occurrences of the cracks in my roof are due to extreme flexing in the frame of the vehicle. In my opinion, this is a structural issue and a safety concern. I believe the vehicle is structurally unsound and i would like dodge to fix it or replace it.

Rear chassis bolts on front main subframe where it joins to the main chassis (entire front suspension mounts to this subframe) failed from what appears to be internal corrosion. Bolt failure led to 2" drop of the rear of the sub-frame. Inside of washers had corrosion, outside edges did not. Steering was diminished, binding and sluggish.

The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, he heard a loud abnormal noise. The contact immediately realized that the rear driver's side tire had blown. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where he was informed that the sensors on the inside of the vehicle exploded and caused the tire blow out. The failure recurred three months later on the front driver's side sensor and tire. The vehicle was not repaired for the recent failure. The failure mileage was 67,000 and the current mileage was 70,000. Updated 5/7/13updated 06/10/2013

The passenger side rear tire pressure sensor broke apart causing the sensor to fall into the tire and resulting in a flat tire on the highway, within seconds. I went to the location and put on the spare. When i found the cause of the flat tire, i checked the rest of the tire pressure sensors and found another sensor with the nut that holds the sensor in place cracked. I then took the car to the dealer where i bought it, and told them about what happened. At first they were not going to help me. Then i said, "let me get this straight your place sold me an unsafe car", at that point they reimbursed us for the sensor i had fixed, and replaced the sensor that had the cracked nut. That was great, but they installed the same defective sensors. These sensors corrode after time and could cause a fatality on the road.

Valve stem corroding had one replaced already.

I was traveling down the interstate and the valve stem on the left rear tire disappeared causing rapid deflation of the tire.i was traveling at highway speeds and this happened on a bridge that was a mile long with no place to stop.after installing the "donut" spare i entered tire into my gps to find a location for repair since i was still 500 miles from home.the tire shop i first stopped at dismounted the tire and diagnosed the cause as the nut that holds the valve stem / tire sensor in the wheel came off.he informed me that the tire was ruined and he had no replacement in that size available.advised me to the nearest shop in another town that might have a tire my size.he also inspected the other valve stems and found 2 of the 3 remaining retaining nuts cracked and advised me to get my vehicle in a dealership for repairs due to immanent failure of more parts.

I own a 2009 dodge charger with tire pressure monitor valve stems and by putting chrome valve caps on them it caused the 2 back ones to adhere to thestems causing them to break. I was never told when i bought the car brand new i couldn't change valve caps by the dealer, in dodges manual,or in their warranty, only after the fact was i told by a dodge dealer that i wasn't suppose to dress up my car with chrome valve caps cause they cause problems with the valves rotting to the caps. Dodge wont fix it claiming its an aftermarket part, theirs nothing wrong with the aftermarket part only with their part, the front are fine with no adhesion what so ever. Dodge knows about this problem just check the internet with dodge customers complaining the same way. If i was told this or read it in their manual i would never put something in my car that would cost me 300 dollars in damages. All the new chargers have rubber valve stems nor tpms stems cause dodge knew there was a problem. The have concealed this problem from their customers and now refuse to warranty it,their section in their owners manual about the tpms valves states nothing about what valve caps to use or any warning about problems with chrome aluminum caps. They are ripping off consumers who put their trust in them. Now i have to drive my car with a flashing dash light due to this problem and its quite dangerous not to inform the public about this problem when one can adhere and blow while your driving. The dealer knows about this problem but doesn't tell you till the problem occurs their negligence and should repair this issue. Theirs no way id cause this problem if i was told when i bought the car. I also see there was a recall on the tpms on 2009 chargers i was never informed about this problem.

The ignition is the car is on recall on other vehicle same year and make /model and i'm experiencing the same issue where there is an issue with the ignition switch on this car.

Fob:car will not start

Had to replace the tipem, win and have key fobs reprogrammed to system. Have heard from other dodge owners with similar problems that have had these parts replaced several times.i believe parts are defective causing these problems with the vehicles. I have researched and found multiple cases and not one significant cause as to why this keeps occurring. I even asked the dodge mechanic and he stated the he doesn't know what would cause this to happen. As new as these vehicles are with maintenance upkeep this shouldn't happen and it usually occurs when the warranty has expired. This seems to occur most with 2006 thru 2009 models.

Car died while driving. Made a right turn and car killed.

At the smog place in ca, the mechanic showed me that the vin could not be read through the windshield because the "defect" is that the foam rubber between the windshield and dash has separated covering the metal label of the vin number. He used a long thin tool like a knitting needle to push the foam out of the way to view the vin number.

I have dual climate control, the passenger side does not produce heat when the thermostat is set to heat and instead blows only cold air which fogs the passenger side of the windshield. This happens when the car is moving or not.

Valve stem corroding had one replaced already.

Tire pressure sensor problems:7/6/2012 - right front tps cracked and leaking airreplaced. (mileage 33,700)fair oaks dodge, chantilly, va5/12/2016 - left front tire pressure sensor cracked and needs replacement.this is a safety issue.only a dodge dealer can replace the tire pressure sensor.in the event of a flat tire or anything else,it cannot be serviced and repaired but by a dealer.this is an impossible situation when you are traveling.i have contacted dodge headquarters in michigan only to be told there is 'no recall' on the item and no warranty so nothing will be done.i have owned vehicles for over 50 years and this is the only vehicle this has ever happened on.the fact that this is now the third timethe tps has to be replaced certainly makes me question why? i realize that i am in deep trouble if i have a flat and also i cannot even have my tires rotated because of this. It is over $200 every time you have to go to the dealer to have it replaced.what a ripoff.again, this is a safety issue and i feel dodge is negligent.

Tpms tire pressure monitoring system. Driving 60mph. 50f. Highway. Tpms light came on after i heard a "pop". Tire completely deflated within 1/4 mile. Tire shop reported tpms failure, and could replace it for approximately $75.00. Simple math? $300.00 for four tires. This is supposed to be a "safety feature" on the car, but it seems like the tpms is more dangerous than a standard tire stem.
