The car started doing a rear wheel hop in second gear change as already reported to dodge. Dodge has offered to replace the car prior to the accident via a mr mike macdonald. This wheel hop was previously reported to 3 dodge dealers who said this was "normal". On the offer to replace the car i was told to continue driving the car until the replacement came. I should have not taken that offer. The car almost killed me. The air bags did not deploy. The seat belt did not restrain me, as my head slammed into the steering wheel. Multiple cases of air bags on these cars not deploying has come up in google searches. Both driver side tires ruptures when the car went sideways for the second time after what i can only imagine was the throttle being stuck. I can provide images later after the hospital of the tire hop marks. Dodge should be held accountable for selling a coffin on wheels.oddly, mr. Mike macdonalds phone sends me straight to customer service now.

My headlights intermittently went out. Sometimes one side, sometimes both. It happened last night while i was driving. Both headlights went out. Luckily i was right down the street from my house. Pulled in the garage to find that both headlight fuses (fuse 15 and fuse16) were burnt. Upon further research on forums and websites dedicated to my car, many other people are also having issues with this. This has happened to multiple times. Luckily this time i was not on a busy street, but i was on a state route a minute prior to this. Both my lowbeams and high beams were affected.
About a week or two ago i remote started my vehicle with the factory remote starter. I entered the vehicle which was stationary, pushed the start button to complete the activation. The vehicle started and ran normally, about a minute or two later the vehicle idled roughly and shutoff, all the dashboard cluster lights and side mirror proximity lights came on. The push button was also illuminated in the "run" position. I tried to push the start button and nothing happened, i tried to open my drivers door and it would not open as the window would not roll down to allow me to open the door (frame less door), if i had forced the door open the window would have broke. I was stuck inside my vehicle which was stationary and not in drive. I then pressed the unlock function on the key fob and the car made all the noises to unlock, i again tried opening the door and the window would not roll down. I then tried pushing the start button and the button would not come out of "run" mode. I pressed the lock function on the key fob, the vehicle made all the noises of locking (horn, flashing lights, actuator noise for lock) but the door still would not open as the window would not roll down; the vehicle start button was still in "run" mode. I pressed the lock and unlock button a few more times until i was finally able to open the door. Once the door was open i continue pressing the lock/unlock button on the key fob, the vehicle finally let me push the start button to take it out of "run" mode. Once the vehicle went "off" i was able to start it by pushing the start button. On may 22, 2018 i took the vehicle to gresham dodge dealership, they ran a quick diagnostic and said there was no event stored, that i would have to let it happen again before they could do anything.
Battery failure light brought up on dashboard, battery voltage healthy but dashboard readings read otherwise. Over time car stalled out, disabled abs, electronic stability control and brakes. Speedometer went up and down and power steering shut off. Burning smell from engine near the alternator

When shutting the trunk with the key fob in my pocket the locking actuator will engage and unlock the trunk. This happens several times before it will stay locked. Also when this happens 2 other issues present. When locking the door using the lock button on the door panel and closing the door while standing outside of the vehicle with the fob in my pocket. The door will unlock its self, the horn will beep and the lights will flash this issue will happen several times before it stops, or i will use the key fob to lock the door. Also after these 2 issues present, when starting the car with the key fob in my pocket the display on the dash will read key fob not in vehicle and the car will give the audible tone as if the key was not in the car. All issues presented while the car was parked and will not replicate everyday. These issues happened a few weeks ago and i called carson city dodge in nevada. Appointment was made and i left the car with them for a full week. I was notified by the service advisor that the issues would not duplicate. The car was returned to me on 5/10/219. I was told if the happen again to call. I will be doing that today 5/13/19. These issues started on or about 5/1/19.

My 17 year old son's 2016 dodge challenger turns off while car is being driven. The ignition switch usually goes to acc (sometimes run). Also, the steering wheel locks up, the headlights go out, braking is difficult, heating/cooling turn off, and according to the manual the airbags become inactive in acc. My son has nearly hit a tree and he has crossed lanes into the opposite direction when the steering wheel has locked. The problem started happening at about 2500 miles 04/2016. It has happened from10 mph to 70 mph. It has happened 15 or more times and seems to happen after the car has been driven over 20 miles, parked, and then driven again. It has happened on all types of road--residential, city and highway. It has occurred while being driven straight and when turning, on level roads and up hills.the dealer could not duplicate the problem. The dealer contacted chrysler detroit without success. They installed a special data collecting switch which we manually activated when the car stalled. The data was forwarded to detroit for analysis. I have attached service records. We have supplied photos of the instrumentation after the car turns off. My son started driving with one hand on his iphone making a video recording of the car stalling in late september 2016. The video recording is on youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se5tagu6my8&feature=youtu.beon october 7, 2016, i met at our local dealership with the general manager, service manager, and head mechanic to discuss the problems and to review the video. They stated that they did not know how to fix the car and had to rely on chrysler. The new video was forwarded to chrysler and a master mechanic was to review it but nothing has happened.further, they recommended that the car should not be driven as it is too dangerous. Since then, the car has been parked.
Lost power steering, lost stability control and abs brakes driving on interstate 695.systems cycled on and off eventually remained off.car difficult to drive.
Chrysler maker of dodge challenger 2016 and other models and other yearsare aware of a major defect. The oil filter housing on many makes and models leak lots of oil. As of right now there are 40,000 of this part on back order. They leak oil over the top of the engine and transmission. The burning oil putsfumes in the car as you are driving. This can make you sleepy and the car cancatch fire in the right environment. You cant take a picture of the part without removing the uper and lower intake. I sent a pic of the oil in my drive. Please google this and see that this not aisolated thing but a common always gonna happen thing. The burning oil makes me feel sick.

When i opened the cap of my coolant expansion tank, i noticed what looked like rust around the bottom of the cap. I inserted my finger into the tank and found rust inside the coolant. I brought the car to the dodge dealership. They could not find any problems and claimed there was no rust. We went to the dealership and showed the cap to them. The dealer replaced the cap with an aftermarket cap. When i went to my mechanic for an oil change, he notified me that there seemed to be oil in my coolant. He proceeded to do a hydrocarbon test which resulted 483 ppm which was bad for emissions. We brought this information to a dodge dealership who claimed there was nothing wrong with the vehicle again.
Lifter noise very bad after sitting still ticks when warm was told by dodge they all do that

2016 dodge challenger 392 engine. When shifting the manual transmission from second to third gear, there is a severe hesitation that lasts a few seconds. This hesitation is so severe that i have nearly been involved in 2 accidents. Once while turning left in front of on-coming traffic and once while trying to merge onto a highway. The engine loses all power for about 3-4 seconds before responding. This problem has also been reported by other owners on challenger car forums on the internet. Problem has been identified on 2016 & 2017 models with manual transmission only. When car was only 3 weeks old, dealer kept car for almost a month trying to fix the problem. April of 2016. Problem went away for almost 18 months but now has returned in november of 2017 worse than before. Dealer, lee dodge in westbrook maine unable to fix the vehicle even after their experts drove the vehicle. They do not know what is wrong even though they can duplicate the problem. Car is dangerous to drive in this condition.

When braking my headlights will go on and off randomly for 5 seconds and come back on. Note this isn't the hid headlamps this is the halogen headlamps.
Noticed headlights flickered once in awhile when driving down the road then someone said my passenger headlight was out, my upgraded headlights are so bright i didn't notice while behind the wheel.i took it to dodge dealership to change the $1200. Mopar bulb when they found that was not the problem, the fuse had melted into the wiring harnesses. They told me it's a $700 part & 14 hours laborbut the part is on back order with no eta 68273736ae so i couldn't fix it anyways. So i started looking it up & thousands of people have had this problem & chrysler had this issue on recall back in 2011-2012.

Driveline clunk noise in rear of vehicle when coming to a stop between 3 to 6 mph downshifting.this happens no matter what the road surface your on. This is a new vehicle with less than 500 miles, after i went to my county probate office to get my licence tag, this occurred every time i came to a full stop at a sign, light or behind a vehicle in front of me.took vehicle to dealership, service manager came out to see if anything was loose in trunk, spare tire, etc. No problem found, i was told to bring car back monday morning for further diagnosis where techs can find problem. I have heard others complain of this issue with their challengers but no avail, or they would tell the owners that this was normal. No this is not normal in the driveline, please investigate this issue so it can be resolved with chrysler wether a recall or tsb needs to be enforced to solve this driveline issue.thanks for your time in this matter.
Caxmax sold me a car that my mechanic described as flood damaged up to the body line just below the window. Rust from the engine to the exhaust tips. Rocks and sand in all body cavities on the underside of the vehicle. I conveyed this information to my salesman who facilitated a refund. I included photos. A week later it was back on the carmax south sacramento website (where i bought it) with updated mileage information and no mention of the flood damage. As it is in 'unavailable' status it is likely being resold to another unsuspecting consumer.
Rear differential makes a grinding noise when i make turns. Dodge issued a star number and fixed it before

Slowly pulling out of carport area making an inclined right turn i get a distinctive screeching sound.something is slipping almost sounds and feels like im braking and hitting the gas:as in burning rubber.just had powertrain updated and she still does it.please note that the incline is relatively mild, i do not have a sharp turn, so i am not cranking my steering wheel, i've tried to shift into first, go super slow, use traction control button (which indecently does not turn on anymore after powertrain recall update). The mechanics at two separate nissans dealerships cannot find an error when testingthey cant find an error or error code. One other note is that this was a contnious and embarrassing daily problem.after powertrain update it is inconsistent but 80% of the time she squeals) once again, i barley touch gas am not yanking wheel. It happens from a dead stop to me turning or me coasting without stopping.hell, ive even tried to gun it (it was worse) here tires are in very good condition and are inflated properlydon't know if this next piece of info will help?:she seems to have a slight lag in in her ability to accelerate when i floor the gas peddle to speed up to pass someone or jump on freeway.she didn't do that to start with, after.powertrain update recall, she is a bit smoother.ithank you for you timeagain i love my car (barley over 30k miles ). Iand just a side note:i do let my her warm up, until she is drops to a perfect 1r :) for date it happened i'm putting the today. Its been happening for 1.5 to two years, slowly increased from occasionally to constantly . And once again it is after the power train update, it stopped doing it every time but it is still frequent. She does it if i'n turning slowly up other inclines.again im putting todays date so you know it is a present issue. Thank you.

The contact took the vehicle to poway chrysler jeep dodge ram (13811 poway road, poway, ca 92064; 858-218-2213) where it was diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case numbers: 30285247 and 31041577. The manufacturer also sent an investigator to view the brakes. The investigator stated that the brakes were not in need of repair. The contact returned the vehicle to the poway dodge regarding the transmission, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the transmission failure and opened case numbers: 32657810 and 32920890. The failure was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to the same poway dodge dealer regarding the air bag warning sensor, but they did not diagnose the failure. The brake pads and rotors were replaced twice, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired for the transmission and the air bag warning indicator failures. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

The contact owns a 2016 dodge challenger. The contact stated that the steering wheel made a creaking noise while driving or turning. The contact took the vehicle to el cajon ford (1595 east main street, el cajon, ca 92021, (619) 312-4107) where the brake calipers were cleaned; however, the failure was not corrected. The contact also took the vehicle to carl burger dodge (8355 hercules street, la mesa, ca 91942, (619) 463-9321) where it was test driven. The dealer duplicated the creaking noise and diagnosed that it was due to the steering wheel bushing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 31,000.

The door panels are separating from the doors.
The contact rented a 2016 dodge challenger. While driving 70 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle became uncontrollable and pulled to the right. The contact was unable to regain control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier. The vehicle spun around several times and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the upper control arm fractured and separated from the vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the face and lost several teeth, but medical attention was not required. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000. The vin was unavailable.
I bought this car and after i signed the papers they let me inspect it. I saw some rust on the joints and screws that held the tires. They said it was surface rust. I took it home and examined it closed. I found that the rust is very extensive. It included the metal that held the tire to the car and it goes deep. The rust flaked off in my hand. I took the vehicle back the next morning. They told me i could exchange it for a similar vehicle but that all of them had the same rust. I took pictures of some of the rust. I told them to keep the car and i stopped payment on the check. I then went to the dealer in ontario and i found the same extensive rusting on all of their challengers. I believe the defect lies with dodge and chrysler. Why are they allowed to sell new vehicles with extensive rusting to the public? i did some research and found that they have been having rust problems since at least 2007. I also found that many owners do not find the rust as soon as i did and they suffer because dodge has denied responsibility. I think there should be an investigation and a recall to fix these problems. I feel bad for everyone who bought these cars without knowing about this defect. I took some pictures.
The contact owns a 2016 dodge challenger. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and using the paddle shifter to shift to an up gear, the vehicle would down shift instead. The contact stated that the when the failure first occurred the vehicle was taken to both an independent mechanic and whitten brothers of richmond located at 10701 midlothian turnpike #100, richmond, va 23235, phone number: (804) 378-0707, where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that he then purchased a dash-cam and upon recording the failure, the vehicle was taken back to the local dealer whitten brothers of richmond 10701 midlothian turnpike #100, richmond, va 23235 (804) 378-0707, where both paddle shifter buttons were replaced. The contact stated that the failure had recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,007.

Door weatherseal strip, bought car late 2016, since 2017 i get a loud sharp swisle noise at 70mph in open area with side winds, noise it so loud & sharp & fast that i have almost wrecked because it comes on so fast & then goes away, dealership has finally determined it's the weatherstripping that is obvious a manufacturer defect but because it's out of warranty & my extended won't cover it & the dealership wants to charge $300. I figure many other people have this issue also.

The contact owns a 2016 dodge challenger. The contact stated that the factory eom windshield had a crack when the vehicle was purchased. The dealer (east hills chrysler jeep dodge ram srt, 2300 northern blvd, greenvale, ny 11548, 1-(866) 386-2702) serviced the vehicle, but had not specified if the replacement oem windshield was replaced with a newly designed oem windshield. I have the 6y type wheel on my car and one has cracked from the inside edge inward. I see on dodge forums several instance of this type wheel cracking. I have spoke to both a dealership and fca customer service and they are not willing to replace it. Stating its out of warranty. The car has approximately 65,000 miles on it. Here is a search results im speaking of.https://www.bing.com/search?q=dodge+challenger+wheels+cracking&form=edgsph&refig=c6656aca600e4b56a05d3f675a0adeb3&mkt=en-us&msnews=1&pc=lcts&sp=-1&ghc=2&pq=dodge+challenger+wheels+cracking&sc=1-32&qs=n&sk=&cvid=c6656aca600e4b56a05d3f675a0adeb3
