I have a dodge caravan 2012 and taking it in for several electrical issues. When it was sent to the dallas dodge in dallas, ga there was an issue with car killing two brand new batteries. Brought a third one and finally call to have it picked up so they could check it.he then called me and said it was the driver seat wiring systems and to fix it would by $500.00. I advised him if that was the issue and it would be working properly go ahead.i picked up my car and got it home. The next morning the battery was dead. So i had it sent back to them and they check it again and did not find anything. I got it back the next day which was a saturday after sitting there making sure they check everything. Basically they said the battery was dead and nothing was wrong. I told them if i had any issues i would bring it back on monday. I advised i will remove the battery cable to at least go to church the next day. When i got home from church i did not take cable off and battery died again. So on monday 8/17, i was at the dealership again. They said the put it on a computer system for several hours and only notice that my battery was have way drained. I still no answers to what caused it to drain. I notice that a motor in the rear area would not stop running. The car would completely turned off. Me and family don't feel safe in the car, now we are experiencing stalling while we are driving. This is not good service if you know there is an issue and there is a recall for this part.

Ok. I've only had this vehicle for 2 1/2 year and i've found after a year, it was hard to keep gas in the vehicle even though i filled it up at times, it would still go out , the doors have gotten jammed, the windows stuck because of heat, last year the seat belts in the back stopped working and now i have a transmission problem and the vehicle will only go backwards. I never knew those things could happen to this vehicle. Also the alarm no longer works after 2 years. I have to take the key out just to open the vehicle. When i got the vehicle , there was a cd stuck in it and radio didn't work and couldn't be fixed.

Installed a curtis towing hitch and wiring harness for trailer lights, two wiring harness modules for trailer lights have gone bad after only a short time of use, curtis manuf. Says that they are experiencing this problem only with certain dodge models and seems that mine is one of them. They said that a recall may appear dealing with the ecm and system under the heading of "tipum". I have contacted dodge about this but they don't reply. This has been on -going problem for about a year. Curtis manuf. Has replaced the light module unit twice. If the problem is with the car replacing light module isn't going to do a thing except keep going bad. If the problem is with curtis manuf. And they aren't owning up to it, what would be my option to proceed? thank you for any help you can provide.also the vehicle hasn't had any issues before or now even after having two light modules for the trailer lights have gone bad, with the lights or electronics on vehicle.

2012 dodge caravan continually stalls while driving around on the highway.usually happens when we come to a stop.often, the vehicle runs rough and stalls after idling.the check engine light comes on repeatedly, nearly weekly then goes off after three successful starts. Have taken the van twice to lithia in medford to check and they located a recall on the header.the header was replaced but the problem persisted.the check engine has logged multiple "mis-fire" errors and no other errors.the problem, to this day, has not been located and thus they tell us there is nothing they can do.meanwhile, we continue to have "mis-fire" errors and stall out in intersections all over the place.on the first visit, nearly two years ago now, lithia also disconnected the rear window controls for a recall.the part was not available and the vehicle was sent home.just over a year ago we returned the vehicle to have the mis-fire problem checked and lithia stated they still did not have parts for our rear window recall. They told us they added us to the waiting list.its been nearly two years, i've received my second notice on this recall and i still don't have control of my rear windows.i believe two years is very unreasonable to wait for a recall fix.

Spontaneous combustion - while stopped at a trafficlight -- of the driver-side switchbox that controls the windows, doorlocks & outside mirrors. Flames erupted from the armrest making escape from vehicle difficult. Fdny was called &extinguished the fire. This happened early friday morning/snowing. Insurance company examined car & authorized repair. Chrysler sent an engineering safety inspector who had vehicle towed to a dodge dealership where investigation was performed. We received a "safety recall notice" [ p25/nhtsa 14v-234] later that same day. Chrysler has ignored my calls & live-chats for the past month. Dealership still has the vehicle but can't get a response from chrysler either. Incident occurred 4 weeks ago! have been forced to rent a replacement vehicle -- at my expense -- for transportation purposes.

Van stops abruptly. Will die while driving, wheel will lock up and and van powers down. Will start back up as soon as its stops.

The problem is autonomous acceleration.when my car is moving slowly at idle speed while i'm pulling into or out of a parking space or my home garage and i apply pressure to the steering wheel to guide the car, the engine rpm speed surges by about 400 rpms causing the car to suddenly accelerate forward or backward, depending on the gear selection.this has caused a number of near accidents, including nearly striking children at an elementary school when i was picking up my granddaughter.i reported the problem to the local dodge dealer, but the dealer found no problem after checking the car.yet, the problem persisted intermittently, but i learned to "live with it." however, the autonomous acceleration is now suddenly growing more frequent.my fear is that this autonomous acceleration problem is a precursor to someday my having a runaway car that results in serious injury or death.

The problem with my 2012 dodge caravan is driving along easily on city streets because with this problem it cant be put on the interstate, when getting ready to go up a hill and it goes out of gear, the rpm hand goes as far as it can go, sometimes easing of the gas the rpm hand will go down to 1 and the transmission will knock, check engine like will come on and it'll go back into gear, but sometime you'll have to pull over and put it in park and turn it off and start all over again, just for it to do the same exact then, and remind you, you can't go over 50mph if 50. I've had the transmission sensor flashed and that didn't help, i had it put on a machine and it reads 6th gear out of ratio

The vehicle had been pulled out of the garage put in park, turned off but did have the key left in it.this was intended to only take a moment while we moved a lawn tractor into the garage ahead of the parking spot for the minivan.while we were busy moving the lawn tractor the minivan rolled about 30 yards away from where it had been parked.it settled on some rocks resulting in damage to the underside of the vehicle.the concerning part of this incident was that the van was still in park and turned off when it landed on the rocks.i have brought this incident to the attention of chrysler and after their inspection of the vehicle they found "no evidence of a malfunction which would cause the vehicle to move by itself."i am very concerned that this could happen again possibly resulting in bodily injury or damage to property.

No we notice that we having delays in starting the car like fuel is not get the engine. After a couple of minutes trying to start, it would stall out and then finally start. So again i had to take battery cable off until the next following monday - 8/24, i this time they advised me it was the timp module and it will cost me $1000 to fix it. Me and family don't feel safe in the car, now we are experiencing stalling while we are driving. This is not good service if you know there is an issue and there is a recall for this part.

The contact owns a 2012 dodge caravan. The contact stated that the bezel clip that supported the driver's seat was broken. The contact stated that when the bezel clip was broken, the seat would not provide support to the contact while driving. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have the bezel clip replaced six times. None of the repairs remedied the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and the dealer refused to replace the clip again. The failure mileage was 21,000.

The contact owns a 2012 dodge caravan. The contact stated that the driver front outer seat shield failed twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 25,287.

Driving only 10 miles the brakes smelled hot. Stopped and checked, touched the lug nut and burned fingerthey were so hot. Had it taken in and rotors were turned and new brake pads. Old pads were gone. Now at 31600 miles the same thing. Talked to dealership and they will gladly charge us for new rotors and pads but admit the calipers do have a problem.so for over $400 and a tow bill they can help us. Called dodge customer service with no results.

The contact owns a 2012 dodge caravan. While driving 5 mph with the brake pedal depressed, an abnormal squeaking noise was heard. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the failure would occur each time when depressing the brake pedal. The contact called the dealer cassens & sons chrysler dodge jeep at (618) 656-6070 (3333 il-159, glen carbon, il 62034) where an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing and repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,184.

I purchased a new van on july 5, 2013. On july 8, 2013, i drove 4 miles, and stopped at a red light. I accelerated to approx. 40 mph, when suddenly the van shifted to the right momentarily, upon which i regained control immediately.suddenly, the van jolted right again, jumped the curb, climbed an embankment, and would not stop accelerating.i kept pushing the emc controls forward....but it would not stop the vehicle.it is not that the vehicle kept accelerating, but rather, the vehicle would not stop accelerating.as a result, the vehicle only stopped when i crashed through a large evergreen tree (front right passenger area). The van continued to accelerate until i ran head first into ahardware store, which ultimately stopped the vehicle. There was an analysis performed, and i expressed great concern over the lack of information disclosed in the report.the accident occurred on july 8, 2013.today is december 31, 2013, and i cannot believe that it is taking this long to replace a new van. There was information discovered from the initial mechanic who received the van after the accident, inclusive of photographs, who was told by adjusters to withhold and not disclose the noted information. This concerns me greatly. I do not want another person to endure what i endured, or worse, an innocent person hurt by equipment, or installation of equipment, that may cause a driver not to have control over his/her vehicle.in the report, the specialist used language indicating that the driver "lost control over the vehicle."that is a completely erroneous statement.a thorough investigation needs to be engaged to determine why an experienced driver, who has an excess of 13 years driving experience with emc/aevit controls was placed in a perilous situation, where the braking system would not stop the vehicle, and the van continued to accelerate, until impact.

My wife while driving slammed on the brakes and the van shut off it however restart right away.this was very scary and could put her life in danger if someone had run into her van back.

Faultly brake calipar - keep hanging up and causing tire to get hot and smoke comes out very hot.

After smelling brakes during a 10 mile trip to local store i looked at rear drivers side rotor to see it glowing cherry red in the night.extreme heat was coming from the wheel well and wheel camber appeared to be affected from excessive heat.working on trying to get it in for a warranty check, but to me this is ridiculous for a vehicle 2 years old with 25k miles.sounds like mechanical failure of the caliber which i could replace myself, but from what i've read online this is a repetitive issue and a huge money pit.

The contact owns a 2012 dodge caravan. The contact stated that driver of the vehicle attempted to slow down but heard a whistle like noise as the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where stated that the rear brake pads, routes and calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,958. Updated 11/26/13*lj

Rear brakes worn out, scraping metal.called dealer and they said there was nothing they can do under warranty. I've been a mechanic for over 40 years and this is just plain equipment failure. The calipers are bad and chrysler will not admit it because they don't want to pay for a recall.very dissatisfied with vehicle because the brakes need replacing again at 44000miles.

Rear braking system worn out, need them replaced prematurely.the brakes were grabbing, not releasing, vibrating and not stopping like they should. Took it in and sure enough i need to have the rear brakes, router and a piston/ sensor replaced30,000 for brake wear out. Highway driving not city driving i was told rear brakes only last 25-30,000 miles.

The key is stuck in the ignition and dealer states it's wind module issue wich was a recall for 2008-2010dodge caravans but excludes 2012 dodge caravansperhaps this should be looked into.

Dodge caravan. Consumer would like to know if there are any existing factory recalls on vehicle. *ld

While vehicle is in drive, the car will stall and the vehicle will shut down. Everything including radio, air conditioner and panel shuts down. This happens multiple times without warning. I then have to turn the key to off then restart. It mostly happens when vehicle is making a turn.

My van showed the battery light i went to get the battery checked out. The test came back bad battery. I bought a new one everything checked good. The next day the check engine light, air bag light, abs light and battery light lit up. After that the van would not start. We checked fuses they were good. The van will not start, it will crank like trying to start but will not. We only have 55000 miles on it and are being told the room is bad.

I bought my 2012 dodge grand caravan in march of 2012, and by the end of that same year had to have new tire put on the front of the van, (they were completely worn).i have had problems with the electronic drivers set not working in fact has not worked properly since i have had the van, and when i took it to have it looked at they of course could find nothing wrong, to this date it is stuck in the same position and will not move.the sliding automatic doors, at times do not work for great periods of time and sound very grinding when they are working.then with in those same few months in 2012 the van started to rust inside the gas door.it has been fixed twice already at dealership and still rusts! i have also had to replace the breaks and rotors on the back and now they are needing to be done on the front.i have approx.30,000 miles on my van.the other complaint with van is the lack of a/c power, and that it sometimes feels that the engine is bogged down with no load, or is hesitant jerky.

2012 dodge caravan suddenly shuts off while driving losing the ability to brake or steer, with no warning signs from the vehicle. After research, this is a common problem for dodge caravans resulting in serious safety concerns.

2012 dodge grand caravanstops running suddenly while driving. On several occasions over the past week the vehicle will just cut off while driving. So far this has only happened on city streets and not on the highway. On a least one occasion i noticed that i bumped the key. Maybe an ignition problem? this is very dangerous as it happens without warning.

I was driving to work and the van started speeding up and i was going almost 50 mph, i turned the key off, pulled over to safety and stopped.the smell was very strong.the vehicle was towed to the dealership and i was told could not duplicate concern.

On interstate at 65 & while accelerating to pass slower car my accelerator stuck at full throttle. Braked to control speed and after short while pedal unstuck and normal operation. This happened again the next day but, although gas pedal was stuck to floor, the vehicle slowed to about 60. Exited highway to service area with pedal still stuck at ft & shut down.car wouldn't restart with pedal at ft.afterseveral minutes, the pedal "popped" back and restarted with normal operation thereafter. I each instance the cruise control was probably on and a large redsymbol appeared on the annunciatorpanel which extinguished when the acceleratorpedal " popped" back up. No messages appeared in the driver information center.this is a very dangerous condition which internet searches show is occurring to other dodge / chrysler minivans and needs to be addressed.
