The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan. While parked, the contact noticed that the air bag light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
The airbag light turns on at the beginning when a child or a light load is in the passenger's seat.it then turns off once i start going.i don't know if that means that it is on or off and am concerned.secondly, i recently had to repair the runner on the drivers side back sliding door.the wire that went through the middle of it was in jeopardy of getting damaged if i didn't.i had to pay $350 to get this repaired.it looks like i'll have to be repairing the passenger's side in the future as it is showing signs of deterioration.
Consumer states complaint against chrysler. Consumer was hit head on and airbags did not deploy *tgw
The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan.the air bag light illuminates intermittently.the light remains illuminated for 20 seconds or 30 minutes.the contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer on approximately four occasions.the first time, they performed a diagnostic and the vehicle passed.the second time, the dealer replaced the clockspring.the third and fourth times, they could not duplicate the failure.the failure mileage was 3,618 and current mileage was 9,000.the consumer stated since the incident was reported chrysler refunded one month's payment and repaired/replaced the clock spring again on 10/17/07 or 10/19/07. And yet again on 11/02/07 the air bag light has since illuminated. The dealer stated rear hatch, passenger sliding door and fog lamp switch were inoperable. Updated 12/12/07
Airbag sensor light on dodge caravan 2005 was indicating, had to spend 122.42 to get it replaced. Sounds like nhtsa ea06003.
The check engine light has been going on and off randomly since the car was 3 months old.purchased new.told by a dealer in reno and a dealer in las vegas that it was nothing, they could not find a problem.now after replacing the air conditioner condenser, and a new engine the whole body control module is going crazy.the whole panel goes on and off - abs light, engine check light, air bag light, etc,the speedometer gauges etc--sometimes they work other times they shut down.this is dangerous not knowing your correct speed or if there is a problem with the automobile.both automatic sliding doors quit a year ago and the lock on the passenger slider door quit working.
I drive a 2007 dodge caravan. The passenger side window motor has gone out. We have called around for a replacement and have fount out that these years are very well known for this problem. My van only has 8,797 miles on it. Why has there never been a recall.. All vans of this make and model have had to have there motors replaced.. My mom was looking at one and they dealer told her the motors have been replaced.so now i have to spend 200.00 to get a entire replacement part. The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan.while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would completely shut off and have to be restarted.the vehicle was taken to a dealer on three separate occasions, but they could not duplicate the failure.the current mileage was 24,629 and failure mileage was 21,829.
I have the same problem of intermittently stalling that others report after fueling. It comes and goes.
I bought a 2007 dodge caravan, the drivers side window switch seems to be burning out not allowing me to roll the window down on the electric switch and when it does, has a hard time trying to go back up. Then my drivers side passenger van door has a button on top in the front that you can hit it and its suppose to open that side of the van door, the van door also doesn't open from the inside it has to be opened on the outside posing a dangerous issue. But the other switch opens the passenger side van door fine. My 3rd row seats don't want to stay up , they want to lay down posing safety hazards. My bearings or something sound bad, and my passenger side door has to be opened on the inside and wo'nt open on the outside.
Dome light bulb socket had burn marks form overheating and contacts overheated and plastic melted making the bulb inoperative. Appears to be a fire hazard.
The two overhead map lights stopped working. Upon investigation it appears that each light bulb and holder were severely scorched at the electrical contact. The plastic was melted and was black in color, indicating possible arcing. Further investigation showed that the main housing was melted enough to deform the plastic, further evidence of potentially a small fire or electrical arcing.dealer refused to fix or replace damaged housing without a charge.i left the bulbs out, as i do not feel safe with my wife and grand daughter in the vehicle that could catch fire.i have searched online and found many incidents similar to mine, yet not recalls are found for this unsafe condition.
I pulled into the gas station and filled up the fuel tank.tried to start the dodge grand caravan and it didn't even try to start.i just put in a new battery before the trip, so i had plenty of electrical power, it was acting like it would if you left it in the drive position.put it in neutral, same effect, back into park, no luck.pushed it out of the gas pump area, tried again, no spark.i had to have it towed to the service station.
2007 dodge caravan ignition tumbler spins very easily and vehicle can be turned off by just tapping or bumping the bottom of the key.in my instance, we just bought this van less than a month ago and my knees bumped the keys that were attached to the key in the igntion. Subsequently the car turned off leaving me with no brakes & steering. This occurred twice just a couple days after purchasing it and it has been in the shop ever since.luckily when this occurred, the vehicle was in a park position. Same problem was also noticed by the tech crew at the dealership on my vehicle and all the other 2007 caravans at the dealership.dealership replaced the ignition in my vehicle twice as well as tried manually tightening the ignition cylinder with no success. Dealership said they have no other recourse because chrysler engineering dept. Is vowing there is nothing wrong with the parts and that it works as expected. I have gone through the various channels in the chrysler "buyback" program and ultimately spoke with the district manager who stated they do not see any issues and no one else has complained so they will not buy back the vehicle.the suggestions i have received from the chrysler staff said i should adjust my seat, remove extra keys from the one in the ignition and if that doesn't work purchase another vehicle for this is not their problem.normally i like caravans for i have owned another one for 10 years and the ignition on my old van is nothing like this one.ultimately i would like to have some type of fix put in place for i don't think the key should be able to spin that freely. This could be a deadlyconsequence for not only would someone loose braking & steering but i wonder if the vehicle airbags would also be disabled. I would also like to warn other owners of this potentially deadly consequence not only for their safety but for those driving around them.

After refueling our 2007 dodge grand caravan, it stalled after going less than a mile.we were making a turn at the time.we lost power steering since the engine stalled & the check oil light came on.we were able to get it to the side of the road.after turning it off for a little while, we got it to restart but after driving less than a mile & turning again, it stalled again.this has been happening after refueling off & on for the past six months.once we were in an intersection & it happened.thank goodness we got it restarted & out of the intersection.it was a very scary situation.we brought it to a dodge dealership & they had never heard of the problem & didn't find anything wrong with it.we just don't know what we are to do at this point.i'm scared to drive it myself let alone let my 15 year old drive it with her learner's permit.
Van sputters/stalls after refueling.
Unknown.after refueling, if you fill up the tank all the way the car wll completely lose power once you start driving.this may happen immediately or after you have been driving for a few minutes.you will lose all power steering and power brakes, making it difficult to control the vehicle. If you have any speed at all, it is pretty impossible to slow down. There are many other descriptions of this problem posted by many people at http://m.carcomplaints.com/dodge/grand_caravan/ 2007/fuel_system/fuel_propulsion_system.shtml

The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan. While the vehicle was parked, engine oil begin to leak. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the crank shaft seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000. The vin was not available.
I am currently the owner of a 2007 dodge caravan. On march 8,2010, i noticed oil gushing from the bottom, right hand corner of my 2007 dodge caravan. I immediately drove it to the nearest garage to have it looked at. At this point i only had 30,941 miles on the vehicle the repair technician told me i had a blown cam seal. I contacted chrysler to see if i was still under warranty. Chrysler informed me that my warranty was three years or 36,000 miles and that my warranty had expired on december 6, 2010. The garage replaced the camseal, the head gasket, the timing belt, and the oil pan seal. Less than a month later i had another oil leak in the same area. I drove it back to the same garage that i took it to last time. This time they looked for the underlying cause of my problem. They took out the oil pan and the oil pump and took a look at the crankshaft. The crankshaft was badly dug into and it appeared to be defective straight from the factory. Additionally, there was a defective thrust bearing on the crankshaft. This, they informed me, was causing the crankshaft to wobble or "walk" thereby busting the seal on the oil pump. The garage also informed me that the engine on my mini-van is also the same one that dodge put into the neon and the neons were having the same problem. The particular engine in question is a 2.4l dohc. The garage ordered an after market crankshaft kit and replaced my crankshaft. As a result of both visits to the garage, i have had to spend a total of $1,691.77 to have my vehicle fixed.
I have a 2007 dodge caravan 2.4 engine i bought it new only 3 years old now the warranty ran out 2 days before the car broke the crank seal keep popping out this is my 4th time 2 times i had to change the oil pump and 2 times i have to change the seal i am going out my mind i love the car so much i put so much in it and dodge say there are no recall.
Well i bought this van brand new when it has 32000 miles it broke the front crank seal. I took it to the dealer and has warranty on it they fix it. Now it has 72000 miles and broke again the front crank seal. Right now i don't know what i can do because i don't have warranty on it. I been searching and i found a lot of people having the same problem. If this is the case the dealer should fix this problem for free, because it came bad manufacture problem.
Front crank seal popped out causing oil to pour out.
The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, he heard a loud knocking noise. The vehicle was inspected by a certified mechanic, who diagnosed that the motor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance because the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 66,000.
The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan. While driving 35 mph, there was a strong exhaust odor and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (putman chrysler jeep dodge, 3 california dr., burlingame, ca 94010) where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter failed. The vehicle was repaired. After the vehicle was repaired, the contact would become sleepy while driving. The contact believed this was due to carbon monoxide entering the vehicle. She also stated that the floorboard was very hot to the touch. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The failure mileage was 128,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan.the contact stated that the air conditioner did not blow cool air when the vehicle was purchased.she waited two weeks to return to the dealer because she thought it was due to the vehicle being new.the dealer installed a new compressor.after the repair was made, the air conditioner worked properly in the front of the vehicle, but not in the rear.the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and they adjusted the air conditioning system and stated that it should be working properly now.on september 5, 2007, the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer and the air conditioning is currently working properly.however, the tire pressure monitoring lamp remains illuminated.the contact also stated that the front passenger side door lock was not working inside the vehicle.currently, the locks for the sliding doors are not operating with the remote or from inside the door panel and can only be operated manually.the powertrain was unknown.the current mileage was 3,171 and failure mileage was 500.
Loss of headlight illumination nhtsa preliminary evaluation #pe10022low beams very dim, high beams only work when turn indicator is held in a forward location. Without high beams i can not drive at night, holding the high beam on via the turn indicator causes dangerous driving. If driving or stationary the low beams do not work. We purchased this vehicle used in 2015, the problem did not happen until 2016, so we were not aware of the recall, as the recall was considered closed in 2015.

2007 caravan with 11300 miles. I have had trans problems since 800 miles. Dealer calls it a bump stop however can't fix it because no service light is on. Now hearing strange sounds from drivers side rear (electric fuel pump) dealers mechanic says change it but dodge corporate says no light again so don't fix.
After filling up at gas station (dte showed 68mi) pulled onto street - engine sputtered and would hardly run.next fillup - approximately 2 weeks later about same dte drove about 1/2 mile and vehicle stalled and difficult to get started. Very dangerous -to be in traffic and stall. Have read online - am not the only one this is happening to - something with a part in the gas tank that is not able to be replaced -only solution reported was to replace gas tank. Looks like this is issue on other dodge products - sounds like design flaw - whatever it is it is very stressful for an older person driving in a high traffic area.
Gas leak by gas tank, and further up fuel line.
The gas tank has been replaced twice due to cracks at the fuel pump. Gas cap light and check engine light come on. Had it replaced a week ago and it has come on again after paying $1,800.00. When ordered from the dealership they shipped it out cracked and the mechanics had to hunt down another. We have been driving this vehicle not knowing this was a known issue.. Mechanics state this is a common issue with the make and model. How is this not on a recall?
Everytime we fill up the car it stalls and dies when you drive away.the problem only happens when you fill up the car.the scariest time it cut out and stalled we had just filled up.we were at a stoplight turning left. You have to yield to the oncoming traffic (which has the right of way)which is traveling 55 mph.we pulled out to turn left the car died.and the oncoming traffic had to lock up there brakes and swerve to avoid hittingmy family and i. We have been filling only half way up in gas tank around town. Which is really annoying. We just took a road trip and it was necessary to fill up all the way to make sure we had enough gas in between towns.we would have to get gas only were we could easily hop on and off the freeway. It would die as we pull out of the gas station. I would restart and drive away.it would than be fine on freeway.once up to speed.this is a huge safety issue for obvious reasons.i hope that someone will figure out the root cause of this issue and no one gets injured from it.i called dodge who said they had no reported issues of this problem.please get to the bottom of this asap before someone gets hurt.
I have the same problem of intermittently stalling that others report after fueling. It comes and goes.
Car stalls after refueling.stalling mainly occurs when tank is near empty and tank is completely filled.
After filling up my gas tank i drove away from the fuel place, and i was at a green light making a left turn and during the left turn my van stalled!! another time after this, directly after filling up gas i was idling at a red light not far from where i fueled up, when my van surged forward! this is apparently an "extended warranty" up to the 2005 dodge caravan for a faulty vapour/liquid separator valve that is built into the gas tank. I contacted dodge and they said that because my van was a 2007 not a 2005 that they couldn't recall it. This is so extremely dangerous and unbelievable that they won't extend this warranty.had someone been coming when i was turning left and my van stalled i would've been t-boned. All of this occurred on a city street.
Van sputters/stalls after refueling.
Vehicle would stall after every fuel fill up at stop lights or slowing down to park.now vehicle stalls at highway speeds and loses all power.i brought it back to dodge dealer when it was new and they said there was nothing wrong.now after doing research online people are having there fuel tanks replaced because of a roll over valve that's a permanent part of the fuel tank.after each fill the roll over cuts fuel off from the fuel pump causing the car to stall.the dealer wants almost $1200.00 dollars for the part plus $500.00 dollars labor.this problem has been going on with other dodge vehicle's having the same problem and they were recalled and fuel tanks replaced.i feel that this is a very serious issue that should be addressed. Thank you
I pulled into the gas station and filled up the fuel tank.tried to start the dodge grand caravan and it didn't even try to start.i just put in a new battery before the trip, so i had plenty of electrical power, it was acting like it would if you left it in the drive position.put it in neutral, same effect, back into park, no luck.pushed it out of the gas pump area, tried again, no spark.i had to have it towed to the service station.
Vehicle hesitates and stalls immediately after a complete fill-up.this could cause a dangerous condition in heavy traffic. Similar symptoms to a 2005 chrysler town & country i had which was recalled for a defective fuel tank sensor.
Engine light came on and the van stalled out.

Vehicle sputters and stalls after filling tank with gas. This only happens when filling the tank full. It happens so frequently that we only fill up at gas stations that are off of side streets. That way when it stalls it's not in a main intersection. My mechanic said he has to replace the whole tank to fix the problem and said it's quite common. It's roughly$1000 in part's and labor.
Driving down the highway at 65mph the automatic side door on my dodge caravan opened up automatically.personal items fell out of the car and were destroyed. My son was seated next to the door. This has happened before at slower speeds and was supposedly fixed.

Dodge caravan sxt, 65,000 miles. My car since new on 10-30-03.left front brake hose ruptured at the flexible/rigid tube connection closest to the wheel in my driveway. Immediate loss of braking occurred. Dealer d'ambrosio dodge repaired the car and told me that there was no safety recall. This is a serious manufacturing defect.

My car is nowgetting its third transmission when i have only owned car for two years. I don't know why my car is rejecting the transmission. Was wondering if there was some kind of recall on this car? this could have killed my three kids and me due to the fact we were on a main road driving and then my car just died without any warning.

The contact owns a 2007 dodge caravan which was purchased on december 28, 2006. While approaching a stop sign she noticed that the vehicle began to idle excessively. The vehicle was taken to her independent mechanic where she had a transmission flush performed. After the transmission was flushed, the vehicle would not proceed beyond 40 mph while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic where they performed a diagnostic test and found that the transmission was failing. The mechanic also presented a technical service bulletin for the same failures and recommended taking the vehicle to the dealer to have the transmission replaced. The current and failure mileages were under 48,151.
Bought new 07 dodge caravan. Found transmission was defective the day i drove off the lot. Took back to dealership and was told transmission was bad and chrysler was aware of it but had no fix for it.was told it would be ok to drive and a fix would take place in 60 to 90 days. Was told a fix would take place on 10-09-07. Took vehicle to dealership and was told that the fix was not there. Said it would be most any day. I've waited 102 days and i think it's long enough. Keep saying that the government is holding it up.they say they have to change the settings in the computer and when they do this it changes emissions on the vehicle and epa has to ok this. Transmission has a hard shifting down and a hard shift taking off.
All 4 rear seat belts failed the massachusetts state safety inspection.this is too soon for failures to occur.

This is the fourth set of brakes i have put on the van in 3 years,i just put the last set on last year.it seems dodge has many others unhappy after research.i checked and the rotor was scarred and the pad rubbed to the metal.the brakes have less than 15,000 miles on them and there is no excuse for this.this would be a serious situation if my wife could stop with my kids in the car.the brakes had started squeaking last sunday and i replaced again last night.this is a safety issue as they are going out way too quickly.

Almost total loss of braking ability. Brakes also wear out too fast.the minivan has only 35000 miles and just had the second set of pads at 31000 miles. Yesterday while driving in the mountains the brakes over heated and almost caught fire (a lot of smoke). I was staying off the brakes as much as possible and in 3rd gear not od. I have never had this problem with other vehicles. I was able to use a long turnout to slow down in and stop after smelling the brakes overheating.

Power steerig become noisy after being drivena few miles at higher speeds
On the way home from a nice vacation (until this happened)with son and grandkids we were getting back onto the highway (thank god it happen before entering highway the right front axle fell apart caused a fire as well.there was no warning at all. Van had to be towed. It cost me 400.00 for the repair and had to stay in a hotel for 2 more nights.my son had to get a rental car to drive home to get back to work.the garage said he's never saw this happen. I read this has happened on a 2006 dodge caravan as well.

The vehicle has an unusual amount of rust on the door panels and bottom chase. I've had to replace the muffler due to rust and you can visibly see near the door panels a hole is forming due to damages from rust/corrosion. The vehicle is typically kept indoors and should not be experiencing these kinds of damages.

Individual was trying to close the rear door of the van by pulling it down. The door suddenly stopped and snapped back and upward forcefully, hitting the individual, breaking a tooth and lip open.
2007 dodge caravan rear hatch problem.this problem first occurred in july of 2007 and is becoming worse.the rear hatch door seems to beeffected by temperature.when it is hot the hatch will not open with the use of the electronic key fob or buttons located in the headliner above the driver.when it is cold the hatch will open appear to come to a stop in the open position and then on its own will close.it does not sense when a person or object is in the way and will continue to close.it will also close and reopen when you attempt to close the hatch electronically.all 3 of these conditions are when you are using the key fob or buttons located in the headliner above the driver.the car has been to the dealership 7 times and they have not been able to reproduce the problem or fix the problem.on 2 occasions they have cleared an error code in the computer but this has not fixed the problem. We have a friend who has a 2005 with the same problem.unfortunately they have not attempted to have this problem fixed.

I was about to take my vehicle out of town and had my oil changed on march 10, 2010.my husband said he would change the oil at dodge dealership and at the same time, check why the steering wheel was shaking.the write-up tech or adviser told him without looking, that the cause was due to the tire.since the dealership was closing and we have warranty on our tires from sears, he headed there for service instead.after the technician from sears couldn't figure out why the tires were causing the shakiness, my husband wanted the tires balance to see if the shakiness will stop.during that procedure, the technician came to found that the tie rods on both side (inner and outer) were damaged.this was causing the frontsteering wheel to shake.the tires may go in different directions.this is on a 2007 dodge grand caravan model.we are getting sears automotive to order the new part and replace the old ones.we also talked to other people who has the same vehicle, and they have the same problem.therefore, we want to report this to you.
