Received notice ofloss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment in a crash. Repairs made to the suspension, tyi-rod totaling over $1000.00 in repairs and loss of a car so could not make it to work. This car iis not safe and i am not comfortable driving it with these known recalls. I believe i should be given a safe, comparable replacement. Why am i asked to place my life at risk as well as any one that would accompany me in my car? i am requesting a full refund or a new car. While making a turn on a circle, i car completely spun around.atruck was behind me and i was lucky that time but who knows about the next time????

I was made aware of safety recall s61/ nhtsa 16v-668 via mail on monday the 21st and have made multiple calls and emails to the fiat chrysler automotive company. As of right now there is no firm eta for the repair as parts are not available or in existence yet. They think january but are not sure. I do not consider 45days a "reasonable time" to wait for a safety fix for a vehicle. They have offered to reimburse me for a rental but i am not in a position where i can put out $1,200 per month and await to be paid back for the next several months.

There is currently a recall regarding the airbag not deploying in case of a crash. I was in a head on accident in 2014 and i had wondered why my airbag didn't deploy. Is there a monetary compensation for companies whos airbags don't work due to a proven technical problem?

The occupant restraint controller must be replaced. The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in such crash events may increase the risk of injury in a crash.
I own a 2011 dodge caliber with a recall for loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability. I do not want to drive my car due to this safety issue in addition to having children in my car. I cannot even get a reasonable trade offer due to this. I am told that the parts my not be available until june 16, 2016. This is a serious danger to my family and a huge financial loss for trade in. Dealerships should at least give maximum trade for this vehicle and they can wait for the repair parts until they can sell it rather than put the public at risk and financial loss due to the lower value of trade tothis situation.
My airbag light has come on and it stayed on.
16v-668 safety recall complaintthis recall is now 8 months old, and there is no parts available to fix issue.how long is an acceptable time to have a safety recall addressed by a manufacturer.lives and safety are at stake.could any assistance be provided, or pressure placed on fca to complete the repairs?
I've waited for 10 months for them to make the repair part.and they have not. How long do i have to wait.her is their message to me:remedy:the occupant restraint controller must be replaced.recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available
Dodge ram caliber mainstreet had both driver and passenger faulty air bags. They sprayed a mist that burnt the occupants skin!
My vehicle has had a recall since september 2016. It is now almost may 2017, and the remedy is still unavailable for my vehicle. Not only have i had to drive around an unsafe vehicle, dealerships will not accept my trade because of the nature of the recall. I feel like i am stuck in an unsafe vehicle and i worry every time my family and i get into my car because we are not fully protected if an accident were to occur. Please help!!!

Intermittent recurring electrical outage while driving.all chimes will sound and all dash lights will come on.the power is lost, a dash lights flash and turn off and we loose the instruments (speedometer, rpm, etc....). Experience lose of power can barely get it pulled over safely.air bag light comes on and seat belt does not lock.dealership can not repair even with having it for 42 days time before last.have only been able to drive 334 miles since dealership delivered car to me when they drove 170 miles and could not get it to reoccur in august 2015.i'm afraid to even drive it to dealership.total miles put on car since purchase june 2013 is 11394.current mileage 38234
Open recall that manufacturer has not yet found a fix for.the vehicles may experience loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in certain crash events due to a shorting condition resulting in a negative voltage transient that travels to the occupant restraint controller via the front impact sensor wires.

I purchased this car january 26, 2016. 2 weeks after purchase i contacted the dealer because a weird noise came out of the bottom of the car, like a clink. I was told nothing is wrong, that the car was thoroughly inspected prior to sell and according to them, everything was fine. I suffered a minor crash 3 weeks later on the drivers' side front near the tire with my family and seatbelts did not work, nor airbags were deployed. Because the accident happened in tijuana mexico i could not report it to the insurance. I have read that this car has a lot of issues with frame as well, so i feel i was ripped off by the dealer for selling a car that had issues in the first place, and the issue with the airbags had been consistent prior to the issuing of the recal s-61.

2011 dodge caliber 2.0. Has stalled 5 times while driving. Just stops! the ignition sticks as well. This car only has 1200 miles on it. The stalling occurs just while driving - no specific warning..just shuts down.
Transmission constantly over heats dispite having the fluids flushed and changed. The inside light flash like they are going out and the transmission whines and whines at 60 to 70 mph. I've had this car since 2013 and have had 3 recalls. These vehicles seem to be extremely unsafe and i'm not sure why they're still on the streets. All of this happens while driving anywhere.
New parts , problems still exist. New battery being drained and/shorting out. Negative terminal is getting hot. Has burned up 2 new altinators! battery light comes on shortly after new battery installed. New alternators and batteries are being ruined. Prior to all this car would stall in traffic. This car is unsafe! also can smell something burning under the hood even when ignition is off.i have disconnected the battery in fear of this car catching fire. Faulty ticm? i'm at wits end! money pit! should have a recall. All ground connections are good and both battery terminals have been replaced. Nothing i have done has solved the problem.
Driving home from work around 8:15pm. On wednesday, february 12th, 2014.i was making a left hand turn onto one of the streets the leads me to my home as i always do.as i am making the left turn i felt my steering wheel losing control as i am turning and the car shifting to the left of the road onto on coming traffic.in order to prevent the car from going into the on coming traffic i tried to turn the steering wheel of the car to my right and i can see on my dash board of the car that my skid light was blinking on and off trying to stabilize the car but no success at this time i am not getting much cooperation from my steering wheel and to avoid the parked cars on my right as i am pressing the break the car or right wheel of the car made a hard impact with the curb of the side walk.i immediately put the car in park with my hazard lights and i get out to access the damages and there was no visual body damage at the time.i managed to get the car home which was just a few blocks from the accident site to discover that steering wheel was not operating properly it was like it was doing 360 turns and the left wheel of the car was very unstable.a few days after the weather was breaking i was able to call my insurance company, tow truck and mechanic to assist with the damages.the damages where alignment front wheels, steering wheel, steering column, right fog light, right wheel, bumper over and bumper splash guard.
First incident occurred in the morning, vehicle stalled and restarted on it's own going around a curve. Later that day in the afternoon, vehicle stalled going around yet another curve this time not restarting. After being towed to a dealership, the pcm was flashed and i was told all would be well. Stalls on off ramp of interstate 30 miles later going 55 mph. Towed again, tipm module was replaced. Vehicle stalls again and restarts on interstate five days later going 75 mpg, dealership claims no problem this time, no codes and cannot duplicate issue after a 148 mile test drive. Stalled again a month later going down a hill at 15 mph, pcm flashed as no error codes were stored for repair at 9,931 miles. 12/08/11 vehicle stalls again going 70 mph on interstate on a bridge over a river with heavy traffic at 10,542 miles. No accident, car will not start for owner with two attempts, turns over once and stalls for two driver on his three attempts. Car started once towed to dealership. Dealership states started for them to pull into garage wasjust notified chrysler engineers believe the problem this time is a win module. Car has stalled whilst moving now 5 times and has been disabled over 30 days total.
I have a dodge 2011 caliber..i recently bought it back on may 4,2011..within one week i had a water leak on the passenger side. I took it into the shop and they fixed the problem. About two weeks after that i was at a stop light and the light turned green and i went to go and my car didn't move. I had cars behind me so i started my car up again and it went. I called the dealership and they told me "don't bring it in lets do a time span to see if it happens again."two weeks after that i was taking a right hand turn onto a street and it shut off again. I called the dealership and i took it in to them the next day. They had it for almost two weeks and said they coded the abs module and i thought that was weird because my light didn't come on. So they went ahead and put a new one in. So i got it back on the monday and on the friday i was taking a left hand turn and my car cut off again. That was about three weeks ago and they still have my car. They called and told me that they are going to update my software. As of right now i really do not want that car back. It is a very unsafe car and i don't understand why i have to have it if the same problem still occurs. I have contacted chrysler but they said there is nothing they could do about this according to lemon law.
2011 dodge caliber has stalled three times and starter has remained engaged when starting vehicle in the timespan of one week since vehicle was purchasedapprox. Three weeks ago. Vehicle has been in the service dept. For one week and no resolution has been made.
Electronic throttle control light illuminates and vehicle goes into "limp mode". Replaced throttle body and dealership cannot find the issue. Happens when on city roads and highway. I have to pull to the shoulder, shut the engine off and restart engine to gain full capacity of vehicle. This occurs twice daily on average.
Car shuts off while driving check engine light comes on car will bot drive ofer 20 mph. It is very dangerous to just shut down. Seen many issues with the dame thing and it is being said it is tipm. They dealer has said they go bad repeatedly due to corrosion because of a bad design. It is crazy having to pay 2000+ dollars to replace the same part multipletimes to be just shut down in the middle of a road or interstate while driving. Has happened 5 times so dat.
I was driving on the highway between 50-60 mph and my car suddenly lost power.2 warning lights came on the dash and i pressed the gas pedal to the floor and still my car would not accelerate.the air conditioning stopped working and again i could not increase my speed.i pulled over and put on my emergency flashers. Reviewed my manual and was able to read about the warning signs. I turned off my car and started it back up and i was able to make it home safely.very scary drive!i had my 2 grandchildren in the car too.i have now read about many instances of this happening. I may try my dealer but i don't know if i will keep this car.

1. Ignition switch slips and shuts car off when turning or with slightest touch such as momentum made when turning by attached keys or light knee tap. Occurs on any highway design that with a maneuver causes force on switch. Loss of control on highways occurs when car then shuts off. Has happened since purchase.for example: with a lanyard and additional keys, when taking an exit off a highway with a loop the- car shuts off suddenly and slows without control of steering and full brake power. (45 mph on highway-30 mph off-ramp loop)second example: bumped the attached keys with knee (while going over speed bump) and car shut off. (25 mph- 15 mph) [speed bump and knee causes]worst occurrence of this issue occurred at 55 mph with a slight knee tap to keys on a high way. Being a stick shift model-could restart in motion without having to come to a complete stop.have since removed all keys and only use the key by itself which has greatly reduced the occurrence, but a safety concern. Nothing clearly states this is something to be aware of and obviously, it seems to be an issue for others as well and with other models of vehicle produced by the manufacture.
Headlights have been an issue with this vehicle. Example: low beam goes out ( thought to be normal conditions). Replaced properly and worked for a while, but not long after harness melts. Harness is then repaired and works for a while again before developing issues high beams. Harness repair does not solve the problem. Tipm may be faulty in design and causing issues with what will work in the case of headlights which is a safety concern.
Original complaint was filed as this number 10662585 for preliminary diagnosis.when i had it towed to the dealer, jeffy wyler chrysler jeep dodge in springfield oh, they called the next day and told me the fuse box had entirely shorted out and would have to be replaced by me because the car was out of warranty for $698.i had to repair the car.my complaint is this car stopped working at 21485 miles no matter that i have owned it for just now 40 months.this car has been babied over the course of my ownership since purchasing from the dealer as a new car, no other owner.for the fuse box to fail at this low mileage tells me it is a factory problem, not mine.
I was driving on a highway going about 55-60mph when lights on my dash came on and my rpm dropped drastically. All of the sudden i could not accelerate and my car lost speed almost instantly. The first incident i was able to pull off the road to safety. This issue continued a few times after and finally it caused another vehicle to hit the rear bumper of my car. There was no damage or injury since we were at a slow speed but it could have been worse.i had my car to dodge dealerships and they could not find the issue until recently when i took it and they said my throttle body was bad. I only have about 79,000 miles on the car and this is not a part that should,d go bad that fast.
Engine will stall while turning at low speeds, will also stall with a/c on while sitting. Has done so 5 times
For the last two weeks i have been losing throttle control. I have replaced both electronic throttle bodies. Nothing is helping. This vehicle is unsafe to drive because yoy never know when it is going to shut down on you. It could be at a red light or going 65 on the highway. This needs to be a recall
Ignition sticks on initial daily start up and after sitting for several hours without being ran. There is also a whining noise coming from front end when vehicle is first driven and subsequently after it sits for several hours. It has been to the dealership twice for both issues. Dealer couldn't duplicate.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving approximately 15 mph. The check engine and throttle body control warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled over and manually restarted the vehicle. The failure recurred after 3 1/2 hours while driving approximately 55 mph. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic where the failure could not replicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 60,200. The vin was not provided.
On my 2011 dodge caliber, i was driving to work as usual, then all of a sudden my vehicle started to flash a bunch of lights. Then shut off. My rpm went up and then down. I was able to pull over for safely this time. But it happened several times after i've gotten into an accident because of it. My 2011 dodge caliber has sat in the middle of the road for several minutes to several hours. Sometime i can start it back up in just a few minutes and sometimes it takes hours. Had to get it towed a few times because of it. Missed several days of work and when i do get rides i'm always late. On the edge of getting fired because i not reliable anymore since i cant control when i get there. Got it towed to a dealership the brain wasnt working for awhile once the brain connected to there computer he,fixed what they was wrong wires and cleaned up the engine. It started so he assumed it was fixed. But i didnt even have it for more then a day and it started doing the same thing. But this time lightning bolt came on. Did research found out it was etc electric throttle control system. Also just looking it up there has been several complaints from various sights about the same thing. I've seen about 1000 plus complains. This defiantly is an issue for this make and model and year. Recall should be in order. Already put in a lot of money into it for the issue not even being fixed. I'm not sure why there isn't a recall yet. Not safe to drive for that matter my research has said not to drive at all strongly recommend it being towed to a shop. Very dangerous for you and other drivers. Since found out the problem car hasnt been just sitting in driveway. Highly recommend investigation and a recall to come out sooner then later.
Went out to start my car, inserted key in ignition, car cranked without stopping continuous, check engine light came on and red lightning symbol for ect failure.turned off looked in book.tried several other times to start, same result.

Takata recall 4 different times this problem occurred! driving on highway car decelerates on its own with no warning. Could be fatal pulling onto highway! instantly lose rpms car goes into "limp mode" does not accelerate over 20mph or 2,000 rpm lights on dash lightening bolt, traction light, engine light. Had the throttle body replaced 3 times this would be the 4th time as my car still sits unfixed!! dodge replaced the throttle body with a non factory one thinking that may have been issue. Now that my warranty is up no-one will do anything for me including aubrey alexander located in shamokin dam, pa. No-one stands by the vehicles they sell anymore. Its a shame i'm a single mother of 2 children, and work hard for everything i have, and i don't have money to continue to throw awayto fix the same exact problem multiple times. This is so not fair. I will be contacting wnep & action news if this problem is not resolved for me. I lost a job and had to take leave from college due to unreliable transportation. Funny the very first thing i asked for when i walked in the dealership 5 years ago was a reliable vehicle i didn't even care what it looked like. Such a shame that dodge themselves wouldn't, and couldn't fix the issue.
The etc (electronic throttle control) light comes on more and more, causing the engine to lose power at low and high rpms. I had it checked and i get codes of u1407,(implausible engine torque request signal received) u1424,(implausible engine torque signal received) u1425.(implausible pedal position signal received). Rough idle occurs at start up. Etc light comes on at low and high rpms even after the car has been running for some time.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving at 45 mph, the check engine light and the electronic stability system light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure.

When the car is i'm motion or standing the vehicles engine begins to race the engine light as well as charging light comes on and the cars speed drops below 25mph and if headlamps if being used the flicker off and on . The oil was recently change but the change oil light comes on repeatedly.. Headlamps that were replaced blew in 2 months . The car repeatedly need to be jumped eventhough nothing was left running or on in the vehicle..
Front sub frame completely rusted and split in half. Causing steering issue, shaking and loud clunking from drivers side and uneven tire wear. Also....having issue with etc, electronic throttle control kicks into limp mode often while driving. Causing near accidents while on hwy or pulling into traffic.this car is now unsafe for my family. Dealership has been uncooperativebecause no recalls are listed. Looked on several blogs plus this site....several complaints about the exact same issues. Very surprised and dissatisfiedthat more is not being done to fix known issues.
My abs not working. And ichange already speed sensor - its doesn't help.and cruise control doesn't work to. What i need to do?
My car suddenly decelerates to 2mph when etc light comes on. It happens about 5 times a day and i have to immediately pull over and restart my car. This is incredibly dangerous and i cannot even drive on the highway.
The car while traveling the engine will suddenly race and loose power and will stall.the only solution is to sop the car put in park and restart the engine.highly dangerous on a crowed road or making turns.i have taken the car to three different dealerships and now the car is at james brown dodge in tampa, fl and i am renting a car until they fix this car again.the car has been fixed by this dealer and two other dealership with no solution.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle caught fire without warning. The air conditioner failed prior to the firethe contact was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The dealer was unable to provide a diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified the failure mileage was unknown. Updated 03/07/17*lj
I got my oil change done at 67,000 miles and since then my car jerks and feels weird when i drive it. I'm worried that it may stall on me when driving on the highway or city and that's dangerous for my kids and others on the road. Please investigate the transmission as it's made by nissan and nissan has a lot of problems with their cvts.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact was attempting a turn when the engine stalled without warning. The failure recurred on five separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer however, they were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the engine malfunction. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.updated 12/21/12*lj updated 1/4/2013
I have had a problem with anti-lock brakes. I could not control my vehicle; my steering wheel was shaking, front wheel felt like it was bucklingand i could not control my vehicle; almost got into an accident. I have brought this to the attention of the dealer and he told me thats the way the brakes are; terrible he said. This was done when it snowed. I do not like anti-lock brakes because of that reason; i drove a chevy malibu and when i applied the brake pedal, it didn't do what my car did. Any suggestions would be helpful. I just won't be able to drive in the snow, that sucks!!!!!when i'm driving on the highway i hear a moaning underneath the vehicle, the dealer didn't hear anything; probable didn't take it out for a ride.
Driver was going 70-75 and running a/c when oil overheat indicator came on and car automatically decreased speed to 30 mph. After sitting on side of freeway for appro. Hour to let cool down made it to destination. Took car to mechanic and no defect was found. After it happened twice more, was informed by dealer that this model of car sometimes has an issue that the oil overheats and trips sensor that forces car to slow and then stop. Can not be driven long at higher speed. According to mechanic there is no fix. Also had issue with a/c compressor.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving approximately 50 mph, the engine stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart after two attempts. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed that the springs and front axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
I was driving on a 45 mile per hour road and the engine completely died. I had to get over 2 lanes in order to exit into a bank driveway. Turn signal and it did not work and the "check engine" light never came on.i was able to pull into the driveway, out of traffic before the car completely stopped. After i settled down and called someone for help, he told me to turn off the air and try to restart the car. I did and then pulled it into a parking space, put it in park and revved the engine. I did not turn on the air-conditioning and drove right to a dealership and they test drove it.the incident did not repeat and the diagnostic test showed no failure.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle experienced a loss of engine power and independently decelerated even after the accelerator pedal was depressed. Also, the check engine and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to beyer chrysler dodge jeep ram (200 ridgedale ave, morristown, new jersey) where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 64,000.
Every so often my car just loses power. I will be driving and then if just slows down its like i can floor the gas pedal and it goes no where. It seems to be happening more and more. This car has cost me so much money while paying for it and having to put it in the shop as much as i have. I haven't ever had a car where i was driving and the car just loses to power. I don't know what's going on with it but it seems whenever it gets checked they can't find anything wrong with it.
This is the third time since i have had this car beginning in september 2014 with about 60k the car suddenly stalls making the car very difficult handle.i think the technician called is cvm module, or something similar, i was in north carolina at the time since my grandmother was passed away.i paid them over an hundred dollars so that i could then take the car to a dealer near my home in tampa florida.i then took the car to courtesy dodge in october with the same problem and sudden stall in dangerous traffic conditions.i am in a chapter 13 and courtesy was very rude and slow about returning the car to me with another hundred dollars out of pocket.friday nov 7 i spent a terrifying trip of about twenty miles stalling and restarting the car and brought the car to jim brown dealership who was more friendly to my poor financial condition.
Driving to massachusetts from nh...3 hour ride...just outside of springfield, ma on a very busy highway, the car suddenly deaccelerated, lost power, and dash warning lights came on. The car went from approx 75/80 mph down to 30mph and lower. I was in the middle of the third lane, and had to try to get over to the break down lane with a car full of kids. This is not safe, and several vehicles were swerving around me to avoid hitting me in the rear end. When trying to accelerate, i would put my foot to the floor on the gas pedal and nothing would happen. It was like it suddenly went into neutral. Very, very dangerous. Also, the shifting lever often shifts my car into manual operation instead of automatic without me even realizing it.
When i first start my car, the engine will first rev past 2500 rpm; this is not normal as it revs around 1800 rpm. The car will vibrate, and the electronic throttle control light will come on (flashes when vibrates). After restarting the car, the light will go away. Between 35-45 mph, the car will either feel like or will go into a stall. The light will come on when the vehicle goes into a stall. The previous week, i took my car to the dealer to have the map sensor and the pcv hose replaced. A flash update was also performed; neither replacing the parts, nor the flash update fixed the problem.
After making slight turn (either direction), and hitting small bump. Ie, transition between highway and side street. Vehicle stalls. Loose all steering and excelleration. Have to quickly put into nuetral while coasting and restart engine. No accidents yet. Maybe dodge needs a few more deaths on their hands to consider fixing these issues. Has happened multiple times over last 2 months.
Just turned a corner, engine light came on, then stalled. Car would not restart. Had to wait about 15 minutes then car would start. Made it almost to destination and then stalled again... Had to coast downhill to make it to my destination.
As i was driving the vehicle it started to decelerated and would not regain power and then the ( etc ) light came on. With the pedal to the floor, i had to go up a hill to get it back to my car and my car just kept getting slower and slower to the point where i was afraid i was going to start drifting backwards down the hill even with the gas pedal all the way to the floor. If that hill was any bigger then i would have not made it over it. Went to the dealership in the morning and they said it was the throttle body, after replacing the throttle body had no more problems.
I came to visit my son for a spring break in west virginia and i have noticed/heated a very loud noise. I asked my son what is that loud noise? i made an ocular inspection under the car and found very rotten condition sub-frames. I immediately very worried and took the car to the nearest car service repair to take a look at the rotten sub-frames. I noticed the car was very unstable while driving to the shop even at a low speed. The mechanic emmediately concluded that the sub-framed is so rotten and worried it would collapse. The mechanic recommended that the sub/frames be replaced. The mechanics called part supplier to order needed sub-frame parts. The mechanic was told my car has a recall for sub-frames and suggested to bring my car to the nearest dodge service center in morgantown west virginia. Again it was very frightening driving the car to urse fidge authorized service center.i discovered that my car has two recalls: s60 and x69. I left my car st dodge service for necessary repair. I told them that the car is very dangerous to drive. Another issue with the car is the engine losing power while my son was driving to west virginia university. I was driving and following my son's and suddenly he drove his car along the side road. I thought he was just resting but found later when arrived st the university that the car slowed down along i-68. This really convened me also because it is life threatening. The third issue i exprienced while driving the car, is the brake. Break bounced back and doesn't stopped instantly. This really concerned me si much also. It's a safety hazard.after experiencing the safety concern of this car which can cause lives. I'm really afraid driving this car. I would like to recommend that dodge company must need to buy-out the cars that are out there to prevent injuries and preserve lives.

I thought the battery died as a result of a light being left on, but attempted to jump start the battery and would not start even after charging battery. It would not even make no noise trying to start it. Was in the process of having it towed to a dealership and driver was able to get it started. Then on 8/12/2012 was at gas station after getting gas and it would not start madeno noise while attempting to start it, finally started after removing and reinserting the power plug located under stealing column. Taking into dealership in morning hoping they figure it out.
Was driving car , took a left hand turn and car died in middle of intersection , had enough momentum to carry car through intersection so there was no accident. The car stared right back up seemed fine. The a/c was on but that should not have an effect on it. The car did the same thing 3 days before this and i was not turning , i was stopping behind a car that was turning. Each time this has happened the a/c was on and it was within 5 miles of first starting the car. I did notice the rpm drop and then it seemed like to catch itself and rev back up. Seems like it is related to the torque converter in the transmission or with the programming of the ecu. Bringing it to dealer first thing in am.

Car has stalled roughly 7-9 times. Several times it has stalled while completely stopped behind another vehicle or at a red light and 2 times has stalled while making a left hand turn and i almost got nailed by on-coming traffic. The ignition is sticking when starting and the car is hesitating like crazy. I notice the car hesistates a lot and some time that day my car will stall. The air-conditioner is usually on when the vehicle stalls. I've had it back into the shop 2xthis week today will be my 3rd within a 10day time period. They can not find anything wrong and i'm terrified to keep my 2 yr old in this vehicle!
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact was driving 45 mph when the power of steering seized and the vehicle stalled. The 2011 dodge caliber i purchased had seven(7) miles on it when i test drove it.the vehicle has stalled without warning at the stop light and while in motion.most of the stalls were experienced after making a turn. It has stalled five times. I have not reached thirty days of ownership. The ignition switch has stuck while attempting to start the vehicle at least eight times. The vehicle has been in for service twice.the dealerships stated they are unable to duplicate the stall or the ignition sticking on the first service visit. On the second service visit, they again reported they were unable to duplicate the stall, but did acknowledge the ignition sticking and reportedly replaced the ignition. The ignition stuck when i started the vehicle to leave the dealership and stalled two days later. I have experienced nearly being struck by approaching traffic as i made a legal left turn andbarely cleared the intersection.

Engine will stall while turning at low speeds, will also stall with a/c on while sitting. Has done so 5 times

I bought this car on 4/11/2011, and this car shut off while driving the first time at 402 miles , it has happened anotherfour times. The car dies like the key was shut off no warning of any kind. I took it to the dealer 06/22/2011 and as usual they could find no problem with it. I do know that dodge had this problem with the 2010 caravan, (falty win module) so i would think that someone would be able to figure out that this is the same problem. This situation must be taken care of before someone get's killed because their car died while in traffic
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle restarted within five seconds. While making a slow speed right turn (into our driveway) the steering locked/ car stalled. The vehicle is a one week old 2011 dodge caliber with 516 mis on it.the same thing occurred about three days ago when making a slow right hand turn adifferent location.normal function returned after turning off and restarting the car each time.
2011 dodge caliber has stalled three times and starter has remained engaged when starting vehicle in the timespan of one week since vehicle was purchasedapprox. Three weeks ago. Vehicle has been in the service dept. For one week and no resolution has been made.
2011 dodge caliber 2.0. Has stalled 5 times while driving. Just stops! the ignition sticks as well. This car only has 1200 miles on it. The stalling occurs just while driving - no specific warning..just shuts down.
Sealed tail lights leaking water inside , won't pass state inspection.
The headlight housings and the taillight housings have issues with the seals which allow water to enter. The water became deep enough to contact a headlight bulb causing the bulb to fail. The water in the taillight crates enough to condensation to greatly diminish its visibility. After checking the forums, this is a very common problem.
Etc light coming on with check engine light. Locks out gas pedal and leaves you coasting on the road hoping not to get hit. Just bought the vehicle and had to take it back to dealer immediately. They said parts (a sensor) was already ordered for it. Picked up 2 days later after repair and immediately done it again when driving out. Took back and dealer replaced computer. Picked up a week later and started again after 50 miles. Took back to dealer and they replaced gas pedal but did not resolve. Car i purchased is still at dealer after 3 weeks and although working with chrysler engineers they do not know what is causing the issue. We were almost hit by other vehicles several times because you pull out on the road and suddenly have no gas pedal. This happens at random no matter what your speed, leaving you trying to get off the road and out of the way of other drivers hoping they don't hit you while car is steadily slowing due to no gas pedal input.
We bought the car new in 2011, since then every summer when we travel more than 30 miles on the hwy when its over 110 degrees out the transmission light goes on and car goes into limp mode (cvt transmission).i have been to dealer multiple times for this and advised that dodge knows and that i am to pull over and let it cool down.we live in lake havasu city, az where its over 110 degree's 3 or more months of the year.my wife was coming back from road trip on i-40 on june 21 and car went into limp mode and wouldn't go 10mph.she had to sit on side road for 30min for trans to cool before would let her resume.this is a safety issue leaving motorists stuck in 110+ degree weather on side of the road.i am still under factory warranty took it back into dodge and they did full check on trans said its fine.i even had trans flushed before the trip.i understand nissan has same issues with the cvt transmission and yet both company's continue to use these transmissions knowing the problem.
I have been noticing slipping between gears. I tried taking off from a stop light and it wouldn't go any faster than 15 mph almost getting hit from behind. Then the rpm would accelerate however speedometer wouldn't justify the increase. Also it's sounding weird, kind of like vacuum. But definitely loss of power and sucking up gas . This is a serious problem and judging by all the other reviews/complaints, i'm not the only one with this problem. You need to do a serious recall on all affected vehicles and stop having us pulling money out of our pocket to cover an obvious defect with said calibers.
Ignition sticks on initial daily start up and after sitting for several hours without being ran. There is also a whining noise coming from front end when vehicle is first driven and subsequently after it sits for several hours. It has been to the dealership twice for both issues. Dealer couldn't duplicate.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact stated that while driving, the traction control and the throttle body warning lights illuminated. As a result, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who performed a diagnostic testing which located a failure code at the throttle body. The throttle body was replaced twice and the accelerator pedal was also replaced however, the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was taken to the dealer which locate a failure code at the power train control module and the traction control module. The dealer advised that the positive crankcase ventilation hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 91,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact was driving 30 mph when the vehicle failed to shift properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 27,000 and the current mileage was 27,200.
As i am on the highway and traveling at a speed of 70 to 75the car suddenly start loosing speed to the point i need to put my blink and stop in the side of the rood, then i have to turn it of and turn it back on and start heading, this happens regularly. On a trip of a distance of 90 miles i have to do that like 3 times. Its dangerous because of the vehicles behind me that are traveling at that same speed can come and crash behind me.
Just turned a corner, engine light came on, then stalled. Car would not restart. Had to wait about 15 minutes then car would start. Made it almost to destination and then stalled again... Had to coast downhill to make it to my destination.
My dodge caliber 2011 is junk.the cvt transmission is shot, little over 115000. They say the transmission cannot be worked on only replaced.driving down the highway,my car quickly decelerated to a point i almost got rear ended.then the car could not go above 3000 rpm. Read in many forums about people having the same issue yet dodge will not help at all.funny the same transmission is put in nissan cars and they extended the warranty on the transmissions and is looking for a fix.i'll never buy another dodge product again.if i would have been hit, dodge would be getting a lawsuit
I have a 2011 dodge caliber and it just turned over 100,000 miles. Was driving home form work and started to make a noise. I took it to the garage and told me the bearings in the transmission our going out. It is a 5 speed

Driving up hill rpms jumped up to 4000 would not shift gears pulled over transmission fluid leaking from transmission.had been to dealer complaining of same type noises they always said no problem found. 300 dollar tow to nearest dealer. Sitting there now. Waiting to hear from them in the morning.

Dodge recall # s61/nhtsa 16v-668my air bag started comoing on and off each time with a audio warning, got a mailer "urgent safety recall" "free" repair.scheduled an appointment ith glendale dodge glendale ca. Service person said he had to do a diagnostic to verify recall eligibility, repir was made.then i was presented with a $ 150.00 charge for the diagnostic (what was free?) and told that the recall was completed but the air bag light and warning would continue, that wou;d cost me another $ 712.00! the airbag light still comes on and the warning is sounded. My free recall has cost me $ 150.00 and to complete the repair will cost me an additional $ 712.00 .i had received the recall notice prior to warning light alarm sounding, so why aren't bot items part of the recall? I was made aware of safety recall s61/ nhtsa 16v-668 via mail on monday the 21st and have made multiple calls and emails to the fiat chrysler automotive company. As of right now there is no firm eta for the repair as parts are not available or in existence yet. They think january but are not sure. I do not consider 45days a "reasonable time" to wait for a safety fix for a vehicle. They have offered to reimburse me for a rental but i am not in a position where i can put out $1,200 per month and await to be paid back for the next several months.
Fca recall s61 currently shows as incomplete but repair parts are not available.dodge acknowledged the issue in october 2016.why are they not moving forward with this recall?

Starting january 2019, i had spent $5k of underbody replacement: bent/rusty axle-f, 2 f-tires; front brakes & shocks, rear rotors, brakes & shocks, front & rear arms. The rear right wheel was locked & i was driving that way with both of my young grandchildren 3 months after i had tires replaced. I kept being told by a friend & my son, 'have you had your car fixed yet?' the suspension sucked; i felt every bump & pothole! the noise in the front to right took over a year to fix.
Squealing brakes from rear brakes started after 9,000 miles. Drove it to dealership and they stated it was not a major issue and was common. Several days later the problem continued to occur and took it to a different dealership and the issue was loud squealing when stopping. They inspected the brakes and could not resolve the problem and had no fix for it. My car now has 11,800 miles and the issue still has not changed. People can hear this from several feet away since it is not a quiet sound.it is getting to a point that if they cannot resolve the issue, i will get rid of the car.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact stated that the brakes were exhibiting a loud squeaking noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the brakes pads were ground, but the repair did not correct the failure. When driving the car sways and it jerks the steering wheel it wears tires out every few months it does this on all highways
My daughter was driving our 2011 caliber back from college on st rt 14. As she went to turn right onto our road, the tire on driver side buckled under. It was later determined that the front crossmember broke.the reason for this was the metal had rusted completely away from defective metal. We were never issued a notice of this potential dangerous defect. No recall was issued only an extension of the cars warranty, which again we were never notified. The damage was extensive, tires were destroyed, front crossmember was replaced, front axleandreplaced, lower left control arm replaced, flange head and shaft-axle half replaced. Because this was a warranty issue and not a recall,we had to pay for most of the damage out of pocket.which had we known about problem we would have had repaired. Upon this happening we have notified everyone we know that own this vehicle. Of the ones that have had there cars inspected all are experiencing the same metal rusting in different stages. This is a recall issue and needs to be addressed.had my daughter been going the speed limit [70 mph] and this happened my daughter would have been seriously injured or even killed! i am now putting dodge and you on notice of this defect, so that if just one person gets killed because of this, they have legal recourse.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact was driving 20 mph when the steering wheel locked, causing the vehicle to stall with the illumination of the traction control warning light.the vehicle was turned off when restarted, the steering was reset. The contact stated that the failure recurred three times.the vehicle was driven to the dealer who replaced the computer bu the failure recurred within one week. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who advised that they would have to replace the computer a second time. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle could qualify for a buy-back program but the failure would have to recur at least four times. The vehicle was being repaired under warranty. The failure mileage was 1,600. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle pulled to the right and occasionally to the left. Once a month, the tires had to be replaced because the tread wore out unevenly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a tire alignment who stated that something was wrong with the steering column and referred the contact to the dealer. The dealer agreed with the mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

While looking at the under carriage of my 2011 dodge caliber, flakes of black pain peeling off the front subframe. Upon further investigation, the front subframe that provides structure for important components such as engine mounting and suspension and steering is being succumbed to rust. The vehicle has only been serviced at the dodge dealership where i purchased it from and strangely this subframe which a "certified mopar mechanic" would have to look at just to drain the oil appeared to pass the safety inspection. Listen, any competent human knows rust just doesn't appear on a cars under carriage overnight but somehow in my case it happened to be when the warranty expires.
I brought my car into suburban tire on 02.06.21 for a stearing wheel shacking issue.it wasn't till after it was fixed that i still had issues. Brought it back and was told about the front sub frame as rusted out and chrysler extended warranty expired 3 months ago. Why???? this is a safty issue and could have killed me or my family all because they choose not do a recall!!!!! very angry and now i don't have $2-$3k to get it fixed!!!!!
Rusted out sub-frame. I've had the car for a year, it's had all of it's servicing done prior at dodge dealers and no mention of rusted out sub-frame. Was driving this morning when my tire seized then started to wobble while in 45mph traffic on a divided highway. Thankfully i was able to pull off and park before getting into an accident! it's now sitting at my mechanic's shop waiting on an investigation and pricing. This needs to be brought to the general public's knowledge! this sub-frame rusting out this quickly is going to kill someone! i'm collecting pictures and statements from my mechanic and the tow truck driver and will contact the press if i have to!!

The ctossframe broke on me and i dont have any money for the other parts that totaled out to be 2,200 this car should have been fixed as it's only been in my possession for less than 6 month and at 160,00 and i have towing bills and many other expenses well driving down the road it broke and could have been very bad so me being the defensive driver i am i used caution now to find this out. Can i get a decent amount of money for people passing the bucket as they day its bot their problem.thank you and god bless
The subframe is completely rusted on the front and rear of the car. This is a known issue with the car as dodge extended the warranty for the sub-frame by ten years. My issue manifested itself after those ten years but it is an issue that should be addressed with a recall.
My son was at a stop sign on a residential street.he accelerated to make a right hand turn, heard a loud pop, the car jolted and pulled in the opposite direction. Behind the driver's side tire, the suspension broke.took to a garage and was told the entire frame was pitted and rusted through.was also told by the mechanic that this was a known issue with our make and model car.he told us that my sons were very lucky that they were not on a highway or traveling any faster, as they would have been in a very bad accident!!!
I just purchased my 16 year old daughter a 2011 dodge caliber with approximately 75,000 miles on it. Great shape. She has drove it here and there for 3 months. 2 nights ago while driving she started hearing a noise so we took it to the shop to be told the entire cradle/frame is rusted and not safe to drive. This car has close to the same amount of miles my 2018 car has and clearly has been well taken care of for the entire frame to be rusted. To then be told itā€™s not safe to drive and i had my newly licensed driver in this car itā€™s heartbreaking. This is going to cost $1500 to repair on a car with less than 100,000 miles. After hearing about the issue i look online and see a lot of complaints about this same issue on other calibers of different years and this year as well. Dodge needs to fix this asap. This should be a recall. Someone could get hurt or killed and have no clue. The sound isnā€™t even that loud just sounds like a bald tire so thankfully she did stop and tell me and we took the car some people may not do that.
Wife complained on the way home about her car making a strange noise up front... We got out to eat, come home and i put the car on my lift and my jaw hits the floor!! the front crossmember isbarely there... For a car with 90k miles, this is beyond embarrassing. See the pictures for yourself... We purchased thos from a chrysler dealer here in franklin indiana 4yrs ago and now they are telling me though the part is a part of the recall... Your car is made in canada so we dont have the warranty coverage to fix your car... Shame shame shame. Someone will end up killed if they dont start recalling these frames.
Re: rusted front and rear crossmember extended warranty#23-012-14t.s.b. 23-012-142011 dodge caliber falls under, and qualifies for the replacement of both subframe crossmembers due to rust. He dealer has been authorized to replace the crossmsmbers. However, dealer wants to charge me $211 to replace additional parts that are directly related to the replacement of the crossmembers, due to said parts being difficult to remove and re-use..
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the vehicle would start shaking and vibrating. In addition, the vehicle would drive rough and there was a loud noise present. The contact noticed that the tires were worn out but were purchased new with six months of use. The contact also noticed that during rain weather, the front driver and the passenger floorboards would become wet. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was informed that the an alignment was unable to be performed due to the ball joints and tires needing replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Took car into dealership for routine oil change, tire rotation was informed front cross member completely rusted through, also both rear upper lateral links and both rear toe linksand bolts are loose and worn . My car has 68,000 miles on it cost for this repair1,360 dollars . I am on limited disability why doesn't auto makers recall this, as they did the other years? i am told it is because they don't feel responsible as i live in michigan and the salt does this. Then why haven't they made the parts to handle this issue or should southern states just buy them and manufactures off scott free . I cannot afford this . Also my oil pan is rusting out but not leaking. Am i forced to trade in a different style vehicle from different manufacture? likely [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Only 117,500 miles the subframe is rusted out and cracked.
Crossmember frame rusted out front and rear could cause a mayoraccident if the frame broke down itā€™s a safety issuesconcernabout this situation .

The occupant restraint controller must be replaced. The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in such crash events may increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Floor on passenger side (front and back seat) are wet. Carpeting and floor mats are soaked through consistently. Seems to get worse during rainy weather, but is consistent.
Subframe has rotted out while the was in motion ( while driving).
Subframeis or has rotted out. The car is a 2011 new from dealership but , was purchased may of 2012. Car was in motion at 20 mph on a city street. No one was hurt, luckily. Would like to know if this is under warranty, would part be replaced and if other components are effected by the frame collapsing, would those parts be replaced andrepaired at the expense of the car manufacture?*dt
I have experienced my car suddenly decreasing speed to around 30 mph after the throttle body light comes on. The second time i was on the freeway, the other times were on the street. Once i turn off my car and restart it is fine, unfortunately this is occurring more frequently. I bought my car new, it is only 3 years old, this should not be happening. It only has 56,000 miles and gets serviced on a regular basis. It does not matter what time of day, if the heater is on or off, it just happens.

My car suddenly decelerates to 2mph when etc light comes on. It happens about 5 times a day and i have to immediately pull over and restart my car. This is incredibly dangerous and i cannot even drive on the highway.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge caliber. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle lost power. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The electronic throttle control warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
My abs not working. And ichange already speed sensor - its doesn't help.and cruise control doesn't work to. What i need to do?
I have had this happen to me twice now. The first time back on 9-4-13 and again now 11-18-13. For some reason while driving it i will loose acceleration it won't go more than 5 miles when applying the gas. The first time i was a light getting ready to make a left hand turn. After my turn i notice the car would not go faster then 5 miles, even with the pedal to the floor. And again the other day, i got in it and backed up, put in drive and the same thing. The only way to correct the problem is to turn the car off and restart the car.now dealership is saying again there is nothing wrong with it. Plus i have filed a complaint with chrysler and not getting much from them.i do not feel safe in my own car, i have a child. This is a accident waiting to happen.
Car jerks extremely bad when on accelerator. Doesn't do it all the time. Just when it wants to. Left me stuck in the middle of a main highway while trying to pull out into traffic. Looked up the cause and i believe it to be the electronic throttle control.
Electronic throttle control failed 4 times, 2 times in hazardous situations.i.e. No throttle control on a high speed interstate.the unit was replaced at owners cost of $600.please note nhtsa action number pe10012.looks like chrysler had the problem with 2007 caliber and has not solved the problem yet.

For the last two weeks i have been losing throttle control. I have replaced both electronic throttle bodies. Nothing is helping. This vehicle is unsafe to drive because yoy never know when it is going to shut down on you. It could be at a red light or going 65 on the highway. This needs to be a recall
