The first time; the vehicle suddenly stopped running, had no brakes or power steering and my wife was barely able to safely coast to the side of the road. After catching our breath, it restarted on the second try. The next time it completely shut down i was driving and we were in traffic traveling about 65 mph, i quickly placed the shifter in neutral and tried the key and luckily it restarted. The next time the vehicle randomly shut down we were almost hit from behind and then nearly sideswiped while trying to escape the traffic, and we waited nearly half an hour for the vehicle to restart. After replacing the fuel pump, the fuel pump relay, ignition wires, spark plugs, egr valve, crankshaft position sensor, oxygen sensors, and a whole bunch of other parts that i discovered may possibly be the problem- it still randomly shuts down whenever and wherever; but somehow always in traffic! this vehicle has low mileage and appears to have been maintained in an above average condition. Unfortunately, it is a rolling coffin, or would "deathtrap"be more appropriate. After thorough and extensive research i have discovered thousands of other disgruntled dodge owners that are experiencing precisely the same issue. I am amazed that absolutely no one has figured out the specific reason for the problem in fifteen years!

Bought this van used 3 years ago & what a hunka junk!! not only did it have almost every problem listed on the internet (had to replace intake manifold gasket & pan, radiator, electric window "regulator", ball joints, tie rod ends, distributor, steering worm gear & box, plugged catalytic converter, etc, etc) but after $6,000 dollars-worth of work being done, the frame has rusted out to the point that the main steering arm bracket is about to break off & then, i'll lose any & all steering!! i really hope it won't happen going down the freeway @70mph! the garage i had all the balljoints & tierod ends replaced at won't even look at it if i have a problem anymore due to liability because of the rusted out frame! i now have over $10,000 invested over the last 3 years & am "in too deep" to be able to get any money back (except junkyard price of $50!!) since noone wants to buy it since it can't be fixed! i can't even get a metal fabrication shop to try to fix it as they're all scared of "liability" if the repair fails! i now have a fine-running nice van, but one that is unsafe to drive ... And...this is yet another common problem on these vans according to my search on the internet and yet another serious problem that the manufacturer (mopar) refuses to acknowledge or recall as the vehicle is "out of the warranty period"!once again...class action lawsuit anybody????

I was driving with my family on 10/29/2011 and suddenly the van started to loss power without any warning or symptoms. I pressed on the gas even more and the engine continued to rev high but the van continued to slow down rapidly."check engine" light went on as we were pulling over the right shoulder.i stopped the car and turned off the ignition.fortunately, we were on the right lane.had we have been on the left lane, this potentially could have been a fatal disaster.the "check engine" came back with a p0720 code and apparently, after googling code p0720, the output speed sensor (oss) malfunctioning is very common with dodge automobiles. If you check the web, many dodge, plymouth and chrysler owners have had near misses because of the oss malfunctioning and without any notice. This present a very dangerous situation which can lead to a fatal, fatal disastrous accidents. This requires further review and investigation.there should be a recall done based on safety issues.the vehicles stalls without warning traveling at any speed.now try imagining left lane on peak hours.
