I was driving and heard a loud pop. Looked at my passenger seat and saw the head rest came off the plastic holding in airbag. The bag did not deploy as far as i can see. I was in motion when it popped. I called to see if dealership would fix but they want me to pay since there is no recall but i feel when it comes to safety it should be fixed with no charge to customer especially when it was a malfunction on car.

Between in the middle of september til now. I purchase this vehicle on a monday with $500 down. 2014 dodger avenger with 74k and bought the other$500. So in total $1000 down. And when i bought the car up to the dealership. It had to get expected, no receipt for it or nothing so i don't know what they had expected. Therefore, everything was good. I had to bring it back to dealership after i called them about the problem. I have paid two cars off and this is my worse experience i had with a vehicle i was driving. It was good while it last but the second time same thing happen first time. I would like to get my down payment back along with the notes i was paying. Thank you and god bless. This happened while car was in motion to were i would have had a little traffic behind me. Since saturday night it's been parked and monday 10/14/2019

Head rest has separated while not driving. Since the time it separated the airbag light in my car will not go off. I have not been able to reset it on my own and seems that it was not part of a recall that was an airbag issue with the dodge avenger identified in 2016. My car has not been in an accident, in good condition, but i have an airbag light on constantly and my headrest is "popped". This is not safe to have happening in ordinary driving conditions. This part should be recalled by dodge. There are many complaints about this all over the internet for 2014 avengers. People could get hurt. I have not had the part repaired by dodge, but have been quoted upwards of $500 to fix a headrest! the headrest is what is setting my airbag light off and not knowing if my passenger will be protected is not comforting. Dodge needs to fix this issue. It was an issue for 2010-2013 models and that is no different for the 2014 models either.

Additionally, my husband was in an accident on 11/29/2017 and the air bags did not deploy. He was a tboned from someone who ran a stop sign and is suffering from neck and back issues caused from this accident.

The airbag light kept flashing on and off and eventually has stayed on. There's a connector with two wires that have separated due to constant in and out of the vehicle as used for. There are no current active airbags in the driver or passenger side seats due to this reason. Labor and part costs are more than income can handle; this is a safety issue that needs fixed.

Everytime they say they don't have the parts to fix and now the airbag light keeps going on and off. I called to schedule an appointment for one of the two recalls and not they are saying there is no record of a recall for my car.

Takata recall. While i'm told my airbag is takatai'm now told it is "s61".in any case, today my airbag light came on while driving locally in town and highway; on and off infrequently. I called dodge and spoke to a "glenn" who gave me case # 32033318 for the airbag. However, he said the "airbag light" is a separate issue, case # 32033352. He called a local dealer "fields dodge in sanford, fl" after telling me dodge will set up a diagnosis at no charge, and put me on line with "tom" at "fields dodge." he said there would be a $89.95 diagnostic charge plus whatever they find. I told him what "glenn" told me and he told me "glenn" was only a call center employee and was mistaken. I told "tom" i would call dodge back. I called and spoke to a "quarneka" this time who reviewed the notes and could not find "glenn" telling me no charge for the diagnosis to me. I asked "glenn", "quarneka" and "tom" what the risk is of driving with the light on and none had an answer. My question to all, unanswered, is that "isn't it strange my 2014 dodge avenger has a known airbag issue and all of a sudden the airbag light comes on for the first time and there is no relation? what a dodge and dealer ripoff.we just made a 4,000 road trip from florida to new england and back with no issues.

My 2014 dodge avenger has a faulty tipm. This has caused my car to lose all electrical power including engine stalling, lack of power steering, and no lights while driving down a busy highway at night. This happened several times. Once it happened while i was turning through a busy intersection! now it has caused my wipers to stop working! this is and has been a safety hazard. Chrysler has known about this and has tried to ignore, deny, even cover it up since before 2008. Hundreds of thousands of owners have been dangerously affected by this. I don't know why this hasn't been front page news! as an uber and lyft driver i can't make a living now because of this. Chrysler has already been sued over this and need to be continued to be held accountable. They have given no effort to recall all of the affected vehicles yet, only a few models that were heavily mentioned in the lawsuit. This is an outrage. This part costs at least $1000 for the consumer to replace only to be endangered by it yet again. Chrysler has acted lazily and unscrupulously regarding this matter and i need my vehicle fixed. American consumers deserve better than this. This kind of behavior from a car manufacturer is unacceptable. We must have a no charge recall asap.

I purchased my car brand new 0 miles on it in february me and my granny i have a white on she has a black one soon as she purchased her car the charging port was flashing on and off and it went out and just two weeks ago my cars lights was flashing on and off the car wouldn't go past 40mph without thecar shaking and the lights flashing i even got pulled over i hate the car.

Lightning bolt comes on traction control light flashes loosing all power 20mph top speed. Dealer has no idea brakes sqeek while backing up and have been replaced twice. Started in september then stopped now it is doing it again. Engine light comes on testing shows leak in gas cap. Replaced now it's coming on again.

Issues over the years since purchasing include happened many times: dummy lights flashing on/off at their pleasure, clock always being off time and having to be reset every couple of days, random accelerations not provoked by driving or incline while on cruise and off, warning lights come on while speedometer stops working yet rpm is correct, andcar completely shut off while driving

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While parked, the vehicle failed to start and the engine and tire pressure light illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Not getting enough gas. Car would not go over 23 mph. Became non-drivable even when gas pedal was all in the floor. Mechanic said it was throttle body control.

I was driving on the highway when the electrical throttle control light came on. It flashed then stayed on. My vehicle wouldn't go past 30mph. I took it to be looked at and they couldn't find anything. The next time this happened i was driving on a street. The electrical throttle light and the electronic stability light came on. My vehicle will not move past 30mph. If i have to stop it won't go past 10mph until i'm over half way down a block. This has happened multiple times now on highways and streets. Sometimes the lights just flash and go off. Now the lights are on when i turn the vehicle on, without any motion.

Crystal chrysler dodge jeep of brooksville (14358 cortez blvd, brooksville, fl 34613, (352) 597-1265) stated that fluids leaked into the radiator during vehicle production, which caused debris around the heater core. The dealer indicated that the vehicle would not be repaired under warranty and further testing was required. Additionally, the heater core needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

The car engines lights came on while driving the electric throttle body light and ecs lights came on. The car is losing oil and overheating while driving. I took the car to a shop and they found an oil leak but don't know exactly where the oil leak is coming from. Oil is spilling all over the transmission. I contacted dodge since the car has 89,000 miles on it and they ignored the problem. The car sputters in the middle of intersection it drives at 2000 rpms without gas pedal being press. The brakes depress on their own. Why is there no investigation done on these dodge avengers. Do someone have to lose their life in order to fix these issues?

I was driving on the beltway and the car just stalled.i was doing 70 mph at the time.the car randomly stalls/won't crank and it has less than 4000 miles on it.i just purchased the car and have been back and forth to the dealership and they will not help me.it shuts off with no warning and all the gauges get stuck.i am afraid for my life and i can't get in touch with the manufacturer.because i have to get on the highway to go to work i am afraid it is going to happen when i don't have a way to get to an emergency lane and it is going to cause a fatality.no one will tell me where to turn and this is my only mode of transportation.

While driving my car it shut itself off while in the drive position and then turned itself back on.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the vehicle was hesitant while driving various speeds and was difficult to start. The contact mentioned that the instrument cluster flickered with various indicators illuminating, the radio shorted as well, the function buttons failed, and the vehicle jerked several times upon coming to a stop and stalled several times. In addition, the brakes made an abnormal noise when engaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times and the failure was unable to be replicated. In addition, while the vehicle was parked, the key fob failed to unlock the vehicle. The contact noticed dark fumes were in the interior of the windows, the door was opened, and flames were inside the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police report was not filed, but the contact had a fire inspection report of the incident. The vehicle was unable to be driven due to the failure. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v043000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was towed to a dealerby the insurance company to determine the cause of the failure and repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

Electronic throttle system icauses a rapid change in speed.

Had to replace computer in my car twice. Front driver side headlight wiring keeps burning out. Afraid this car will catch fire with myself and my family in it. Vehicle stopped in moving traffic almost causing accidents. Back and forth to dealerships for guess work. No faith in dodge anymore. Stopped several more times after leaving the dealership. Was without a car for so long almost lost my employment. Car would start most mornings just turn but not crank. Will upload documents when i go pick it up from the dealership yet again.

Passenger side air vents blow only cold air when using heater. Driver side blows heated air with a electric burning smell.cruise control will not stay engaged.traction control continually engages while driving on dry roads.

While the vehicle is moving and with my feet on the gas pedal the rpms drop, the car shudders. About 5 seconds later the rpms jump up but doesn't gain speed. Also the car jerks before accelerating very slow. No codes but clearly there's a problem.

At first the buttons on the radio would only work part time.eventually the buttons quit working all together. I can use the round buttons to turn volume up and down and change the station. Cannot use bluetooth or uconnect. Cannot power off radio at all. It even stays on after the engine is shut off.

This has been going on now for over a 1 year. My car engine just shuts off for no reason. I have taken it in had it towed in and multi dodge dealership mechanics looks at it. Nobody can figure out why it does it. They have duplicated the problem lots of times but don't know why it happens. Every mechanic refuses to document in the systems that this is happening because they can't fix the problembut i make them all right on my copy of the service paperwork that they did duplicate it and what they did to protect me.the only thing they have every change is the erg valve but it still happens to this day. This is a huge safety issue.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and the horn sounded without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 64,000.

The first time this happened i was turning and car just shut off. No warning light. Took it to dealership, they said nothing found, just a quick flash to reboot computer. Three weeks later it happened again, first it kicked back, then i turned and it shut off again. Took it back to dealership, they said it was a relay switch, and was replaced. I'm scared to drive this brand new car anywhere.

It started with the blinker shorting out the lights inside the car and the problem is persistently getting worse. Now the horn goes off without notice while driving, now the horn is no longer working at all. I was nearly in an accident because i couldn't warn a vehicle they were entering my lane. I am concerned that my car electrical system will completely malfunction while driving as the electrical system is essentially the brain of the vehicle. Numerous dodger owners have expressed that it will only get worse, even to the point of completely cutting off while in traffic.

Shifting has become a major issue have to use a pen or knife to put pressure on a switch to shift out of park. Was told by local dodge dealer it is a issue with the challenger but not this model. They are the same shifter. Also the light that illuminates the shifter started to catch fire but i was able remove before fire ignited. I saw the smoke and smelled electrical burning. Luckily that started right before i went to struggle and put in drive. To even get it to losses up to drive you almost have to slam the shifter up and down rapidly and somewhat rough to even loosen it up to give a week or 2 of it not causing problems. Was told by local dealer not covered under warranty and it would be around 800 to fix.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving, the vehicle experienced a loss of power and prevented the vehicle from accelerating past 10-15 mph. The etc warning indicator and traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure occurred approximately six times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. The vin was not provided.

Was driving vehicular slowed down almost to a stop and jerked forward as if i wasn't getting any power. Engine light came one. Took to mechanic said it was the throttle acculator control system(per what the code showed) dealer says not under warranty this car barley has 80,000 miles and only 4 years old. This could have caused a bad accident. Scared myself and daughter bad. This was a very busy road.

There has been a loud whistling/squealing noise coming from the left front end of the car since 1/5/15 and has not been able to be repaired. Also i was driving and in the process of making a left hand turn into a parking lot my car shut itself off in the middle of the turn. An accident almost occurred because of this. Transitowne dealership in williamsville ny is giving me a hard time fixing my car since i did not buy it from them and since they could not diagnose a problem on 3/24/15 they didn't feel the need to look it over again until i mentioned the phase i'm calling my lawyer and they will be in touch and they had a change of heart then. Please help before someone gets hurt with this car it is a death trap.

I have a 2014 dodge avenger and on october 17 i fueled at the station and proceeded to travel on my way home. When i stopped at the light my son and his friend were talking. The light changed and i tried to go the car wouldn't go. It had shut itself off. Prior to this my son and i were going down the interstate and we could here a screeching whistling sound coming from the front of the car. Later that day the radio changed stations by itself. The changing of the station happened again on october 18 with me and my wife in the car. This prompted me to look into the recall factor and i found more complaints of the same type. If there is a problem someone needs to address it now before there is an accident and someone gets seriously hurt or dies. My situation could have been bad because people were expecting my car to start moving and i had no idea it wouldn't, and i was on an uphill incline. Please look into these problems and getsome info out to the public.

Loss of power and prevented the vechile from accelerating past 10-15mph.ive been going into dealers for same type of items.they just keep resetting code.send me away.today i was stranded. Need help.

The first time the throttle control warning light came on, i was mid-turn into oncoming traffic when my vehicle stalled, completely stopping almost causing another vehicle to t-bone me. Car shut off and when i restarted it, it automatically accelerated. Arrived at my destination within a mile and later that day when i turned on my car to go home, the light was off and no issues. A couple days go by, on my way to work again, i am trying to stop for a red light, throttle control warning light comes on and car accelerates instead causing me to run the red light. Throttle control light stays on for the rest of the day but when i go to drive it the next day its off and no issues. Took car in to get oil changed and other unrelated work done and they don't find any issues. About 3 weeks go by, don't drive the car for 5 days, it drives fine the first day and then today (the second day) on my way to work, i went to slow down for a stop light, when i pushed on the gas to accelerate again, throttle control light comes on and i have the gas pedal to the floor but car won't go above 13 mph. Drove this way for about 3 miles, making no stops worried that i wouldn't be able to get it to go at all, until i was somewhere safe that i could park the vehicle. Just went to go turn it on after about 4 hours and light is still on.

I had started car and put in drive. When i pushed on gas the car shut off. It had done two times earlier in the month. I took back to dealer i purchased it from and the mechanic said it was the sensor which kept vehicle running and i was lucky i wasn't going fast because i would have probably had an accident because i wouldn't be able to control it.

I was driving the car down the road when all of a sudden the wheels locked up and pulled hard left and my steering wheel locked up as well and i crashed

In april 2017, the engine control module failed and the vehicle would not go over 10 miles per hour.yes the part was replaced by wickstrom chrysler dodge in barrington il.on april 18th 2019,the same part failed again. The vehicle was drive on the a local highwaywhen it lost power and wouldn't go above 10 mph both times.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn with an abnormal sound. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was slowly driven to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred twice. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

While traveling on the highway i noticed a pulling/shaking of the vehicle felt as if the car did not want to follow my control. It will also feel as if it wants to attempt to stall or switch gears while driving

Electrical system has critical internal errors where car will just shut-off completely. I've been on highway many times where my 2014 dodge avenger se v6 has lost power and completely idles. The battery is still working but car will no longer start. I have infant child and this defect has become a source of anxiety every time i drive this vehicle. Also, the nuts and bolts seem to come undone from the side frames below the driver and rear doors, as well as bolts under hood such as on the engine compartments. Finally, royalty auto informed me that the oil filter housing unit on this vehicle is stocked with plastic, when it should be made from alloy metal to ensure quality and safety.

With electronic stability control (esc) on the 2014 avenger r/t self steers under heavy acceleration, when lane-changing, and when turning left onto highways.when this happens the car is all over the road.dodge provides an esc off switch.with esc off the car is stable and safe.the dealer is aware of this problem but says they are not allowed to permanently disable the esc.their advice is to press the esc off switch each time the car is started.

It started with the blinker shorting out the lights inside the car and the problem is persistently getting worse. Now the horn goes off without notice while driving, now the horn is no longer working at all. I was nearly in an accident because i couldn't warn a vehicle they were entering my lane. The vehicle stalls and jerks violently during acceleration at take off after a complete stop. It struggles accelerating through intersections also at making left n right turns. At random times the vehicle stops in the middle of an intersection after take off and causes cars behind you and those who choose to proceed to run the red light going the intersection to hit you. The car is unsafe to drive making it a safety issue. Come to find out online that alot of dodge avengers are having the same issue. Car also does this while making left and right turns. It jerks n loses acceleration randomly no matter high roms or low rpms. On the highway or street you can't gain acceleration to pass or to get over without risking an accident due to not moving with the speed of traffic. Also am unknown oil leak appears had the car valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket replace and still looses oil. Oil is shooting all over the engine and engine making unknown sound that doesn't trigger a check engine light. But there is a ticking sound coming from engine. Took it to a dodge dealership they found nothing wrong with the engine or transmission. I believe dodge acknowledge these problems but refuse to fix what majority of their customers complaints about this same issue.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the vent control function was not working properly when attempting to heat the vehicle.

On november 3rd my car over heated. I have to get it towed away to the dealership. Same dealership i bought my car from. After they diagnosed my car they said the hose broke and over heating melted my sensors. They asked me $773.55 for repairing. On good faith i took my car from the dealership. Just after 2 weeks, a day before thanks giving my car over heated again. Again i have to get it towed away again to the dealer ship. My car has been in the shop for more than 12 days. At first they are saying that my gas kit blew and then later they said they have to replace my engine. My concern here is that why was it not done on the first attempt. I borrowed money against my 401k plan and i cant take another loan to get it fixed. My wife is stage 3 cancer patient. We do not have enough money. I believe renton car pros dodge and chrysler should be responsible for the repair. They should have fixed it on the very first time. They actually sold me a defective car. Which car really breaks down within 4 years.

Car is overheating rapidly, air is warm on one side, cold on the other. Engine will begin steaming almost as though it is about to catch fire and there is often times a smell like something is burning coming from the engine. If the car idles for even just at a stop light or the car is slowed down, the car begins to overheat rapidly. It has also been overheating while being driven at 70 mph. The fans are not always kicking in either.

The oil filter housing in the 3.6l pentastar v6 is a notorious design flaw that has affected thousands of consumers across the globe in vehicles such as the dodge avenger, dodge charger, chrysler town and country, and jeep grand cherokee.online resources regarding this flaw are not hard to find.all it requires is a simple search on google to find the hundreds of reviews and postings of similar situations regarding the oil filter housing by owners of vehicles using the 3.6l pentastar v6.the sheer number and frequency of this problem reinforces the legitimacy and credibility of this complaint.this design flaw however, is not only specific to the weakness of the plastic connecting cap on the oil filter housing (which is prone to chipping and cracking) but in the placement of this weak part deep within the engine ' requiring mandatory professional maintenance to be administered.this oil filter housing is effectively a ticking time-bomb within all 3.6l pentastar v6 engines which sadly awaits all consumers. Not only is this an inconvenience for consumers ' having to pay dealerships $600+ to have the part replaced, but a major safety concern on many levels.a few examples are: (1) the leaking of oil caused by the inevitable cracking of the oil filter housing causes the engine to reach dangerous levels of heat and degrade at a much faster rate. (2) exposed oil resting on the engine near the housing may ignite causing an engine fire. (3) more specific to my situation, the loss of oil may occur while driving in mountainous terrain ' where the responsiveness of your engine may be directly correlated to your chances of survival.it is unfathomable to think that after the many thousands of similar instances consumers have faced regarding the flawed part, that a recall has not been put into place.especially when the flaw poses such an incredible safety hazard.

I bought this car at a dealership on july 30, 2018 with 58,200 miles.it was parked in the garage from 9/7/18 while waiting for the permanent tag because the temporary tag expired.after a week i noticed oil on the floor and decided to take it to a dealership.i was on the highway when the vehicle stalled without warning.luckily, i was not speeding, the car was pushed to the nearest dealership.the next day after diagnoses, we were told it was the engine and we need to take it back to the dealership to fix it because we just bought the car from them.the dealership told me, i need $6,000.00 to change the engine.the mileage was about 61,000 when the car was returned.now, i don't have a car and in the hole for over $11,000.00the dealership is just giving me the run around at this time.don't know what to do.dodge does not participate arizona for lemom law.

On december 10, 2016, i took my 2014 dodge avenger in for diagnosis/repair because the engine was stalling/shutting off when stopped or getting ready to stop. Nothing was found. On december 13, 2016;my vehicle shut down twice while driving 45 mph coming very close to getting hit in the rear of the vehicle.i was told that the tipm (totally integrated power module) needed replacement. My vehicle is still under warranty, thankfully! !this part has a 2-year warranty only!once told of the tipm issue, i went online and researched this part. I saw many models had the same problem and that chrysler had settled a lawsuit over thousands/millions of 2007-2014 chrysler vehicles with defective tipm's.just last week i saw a dodge charger on the side of the road and wonder if this was the same issue as mine. At this point, i can't refer anyone to buy any chrysler vehicle.....such a shame because i really love my car, but after this ordeal, i'm paranoid wondering what else will go wrong!!

Temperature gauge alarm came on while driving and noticed the gauge showed it was really hot. Pulled over to let it cool down and noticed the fan under the hood wasn't running to help cool it down.

The throttle and engine light lit up on the dash. Car has trouble accelerating and sputters til lift off the gas pedal. Sometimes when starting it will sputter and try to quit. It will also accelerate by itself when my foot is not on the pedal at all.

I was driving my car and as i came to a light my car started to idle really rough like it was going to stall the rpms went all the way down to almost 200rpm then i put the car in neutral and hit the gas a bit so it wouldn't stall and it revved up to 1000 rpm and then shut off completely and the electronic throttle control light flashed at me . Then i restarted my car and there were no lights on . The car was idleing really rough. I have the 2.4l i-4. Its never ran that way before so i continued to drive and about twenty minutes later it did the same exact thing. I am out of my bumper to bumper warranty so a dealer wanted 100 just to take a look at the car i went to autozone to have the computer scanned and he said their were no codes. He told me he didn't know what the issues could be either . This is the 5th time this has happened to me . The other day when i was backing pulling out of my driveway i went to put it in reverse it wouldn't go into reverse then all of a sudden as i was giving it a little bit of gas it slammed into reverse it almost felt like the transmission fell out of the car. And it chirped the tires. Then after i backed out my engine stalled and the etc light came on. ( electronic throttle control)then i attempted to start my car and it drove fine like nothing had happened.

Car will stall at various speeds without warning. No dash warning lights illuminate prior to stalling. Driver losses power steering when engine stalls and car cannot be maneuvered out of traffic. Very dangerous situation. First occurred on state highway at 50mph in busy rush hour traffic.

Was notified by my mechanic that there is a nationwide shortage on dodge avenger engine manifolds. The manifold in my car had a huge crack and was emitting exhaust fumes into the cabin of the vehicle when starting up the car while the engine was cold.we could smell the fumes and it was making us sick. Our mechanic was not able to get a replacement for a brand new part and had it sent to a professional welder to fix the damage manifold in lieu of waiting a long period of time to get a new manifold sent to him.

I keep my car maintained on schedule. I took my car for a routine oil change, was advised of needing to do a flush. Ever since the flush was done, my car has not driven or performed as should have. The check engine light went on and does not go off. I do more highway than city driving so it isn't noticed on highway. The vehicle does run rough at a stop, as a stop sign or red light.

Engine failure twice in a year and caused by parts that was apparently not under warranty.

Heater won't blow hot air. Can't defrost my windows on cold mornings to be able to see.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving, the engine and wheel sensor indicators illuminated. The vehicle would not accelerate over 35 mph. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure could occasionally be duplicated. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I have a 2014 dodge avenger rt 3.6 vvt... I purchased it with around 32,000 miles and rightaround 55000 miles my ac wentout im being told its the evaporator and is gonna cost 700 hundred dollars to fix and now at 70,000 miles its starting to makes this tapping noise they say it's probably the lifters or something but it soundslike its low on oil but its not the dealer basically wants money

My dodge avenger is at 58000 miles the heater core went out and my car overheated i've only had it for a year no reported accidents..

My engine starts shaking when i cut my car on

I was driving and the car just cut back, it act as though it wanted to stall. It did this a few times. I had to go to the dealership and have my warning lights on the dash reset 3 times. They always had a reason why this happened. I will never get another avenger that's for sure. I love dodge but i have always had a caravan used and this car had 9miles on it when i brought it dec 2013 i have not had it a whole year yet and i've been to the shop 4 times already.

Car hesitates when trying to get up to speed on the freeway to pass or even at a complete stop.has happened multiple times and multiple speeds.

I was in a car accident as of march, i had front damage hit pretty hard at least the passenger air bag should have deployed but after i got my car back it started cutting off for no reason. I took it back to auto shop that fixed it when the check engine light came on due to revving up between the 3 and 5 rpm and barely moving the lightest touch it would stay stuck between those even slowing down to less 25 mph as soon as step on the gas it will shoot right back up between 3 and 5 rpm and rev.. I would have to pull over turn my car off and turn the key really hard to turn on and it would go back regular. My car randomly cuts off when stopped at lights or when coming to a stop. If i am in reverse and start to back up it stalls, jerks then cuts off . The dealership and auto shop are not finding anything"wrong" with it. Unknown of what paticular system this is i was told fuel line but i think its the engine the check engine light will come on and then go back . It is happening on and off and no one will look at it unless im paying out of pocket this started happening around 30,000 miles.

My vehicle will randomly stall. No check engine lights or anything. Normally it will be when i need to turn, i will slow down almost to a stop and then hit the gas. It has stalled twice now and the other times it feels like it is going to.

My seatbelts will unlatch whenever it feels like it, the seatbelts won't go in by themselves anymore, amd this all happened after we fixed the recall. Then all in a year the throttle body quit working, the alternator stopped working, it will not keep a charge, and sometimes when your driving for no reason at all the inside lights will dim and brighten. This all happens while in motion except the battery constantly dying even though the alternator and battery are new.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving at a low speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel seized. The check engine and abs warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. While driving 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to come to a halt. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact sustained minor bruises that required medical attention. The front passenger did not sustain any injuries, but required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the crash scene to an auto body repair center where the mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle based on the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

6.1.17 at roughly 7:50am, my 2014 dodge avenger lx with rallye package completely shutoff while doing highway speeds - 70mph cruise, flat land. Power steering was gone and thankfully no other cars were on the road. I placed the car in neutral and was able to get it started to continue on my way to work. Over the past year, we've experienced numerous issues such as: random accelerations without cause, dummy lights flashing or coming on and then disappearing on their own, acceleration issues where car will not go over 40, etc. Issues have not been able to be replicated and has not been brought to the dealership for that purpose as i had a friend experience the same and the dealership told her they couldn't recreate so there was no issue. I have contacted my dealership and have an appointment for 6.5.17, and i have also contacted chrysler regarding the issue so they can get a case manager assigned. I no longer feel safe driving myself or my children in this vehicle, as i have found several have experienced the issue without remedy.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed as having a faulty electronic throttle body control system. Apex automotive services (located at 1131 south harrison rd, stone mountain, ga 30088) repaired the vehicle by replacing the throttle body. After the repair, the vehicle shook while driving various speeds and would not accelerate beyond 30 mph. In addition, the electronic throttle body warning indicator displayed after the initial repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that there was no recall or warranty coverage available. The failure mileage was 75,000.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle loss motive power. The contact stated that there was fuel leaking from the vehicle onto the ground. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that there was a faulty fuel line that needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

I was trying to reverse after making a u-turn on a business avenue in queens, ny and after turning around, i put the car in reserve to go back a little bit to complete my u-turn, and my car would not reverse, instead moves forward, even though the vehicle was put into reverse position. I turn off the engine and turn it back on, put the car in reverse, and it continues to do the same thing. Someone help me push it back while in neutral and i then put it in drive and it was ok after that. My children was in the car with me and this happened on a busy ave. I am concerned for the safety for everyone. My children are always with me in my car. Please take a closer look at this problem with my car and many others. Thank you.

Hit a few deer head on it took out both sides and complete front end and air bags didn't deploy and it was a pretty hard impact ill be surprised if they don't total the vehicle out we were on hwy 45 in bloomington indiana

Electronic throttle control is not working my car loses power and won't go over 25 mpg if that which could cause a accident if i am driving along then all of a sudden that light with two lighting bolts come on and the power goes. I have seen on the internet several people with this same problem and wonder why dodge is not doing something about it. They must know because this part is under warranty for only three years and that is when it goes is after three years warranty is up. I like dodge and will probably keep buying there but i wish they would look further into this problem and fix it they could gain a lot more loyal customers if they did. This problem happens when in drive or driving some where and it will not go up hills at all stalls out when this is happening.

The brakes suddenly failed.i was able to stop the car by standing on the brakes. I if i had been in traffic i would have crashed.the engine was shaking very hard and it would not accelerate to get it off the road. Two lights came on. The electronic throttle control and the one that shows a picture of a car on a slippery road.the next day the lights were off and it behaved normally. Then it reoccurred.i am taking it to a dealer but sudden loss of braking is unacceptable and from what i read on the internet a lot of people have had this same issue.

While the vehicle is moving and with my feet on the gas pedal the rpms drop, the car shudders. About 5 seconds later the rpms jump up but doesn't gain speed. Also the car jerks before accelerating very slow. No codes but clearly there's a problem.

Loss of power and prevented the vechile from accelerating past 10-15mph.ive been going into dealers for same type of items.they just keep resetting code.send me away.today i was stranded. Need help.

No fuel to run over 10 miles an hour. This seams to be a problem with dodge avengers i have checked out

The throttle and engine light lit up on the dash. Car has trouble accelerating and sputters til lift off the gas pedal. Sometimes when starting it will sputter and try to quit. It will also accelerate by itself when my foot is not on the pedal at all.

I was less than 1 mile from home. I noticed the throttle wasnt responding as it should when i pressed the pedal. The etc light was blinking and the traction light was on. I was not able to drive over 20 mph and i was almost rear ended by the vehicle behind me. After having it towed and having two mechanics look at it, they determined it to be a throttle body failure. This was replaced. I picked the car up. Less than 1/2 a mile from the shop, i lost power again and the same lights reappeared with the engine light now lit up. I took it back. He ran the code and it was showing possible an vacuum issue. He kept it over night to take a looked at it again. It was determined their was no vacuum issue and now a code for the map sensor was being reported. It was replaced and the mechanic drove it three times at different distances. No issues. I pick the car up. I get almost home (3 miles away). Etc light blinks, engine light on, traction light on. At this point the mechinca believes it to be the pcm which he says is a common issue with dodges. So at this point he is going to put the old throttle body and map sensor back on and replaced the pcm.

My dodge avenger is at 58000 miles the heater core went out and my car overheated i've only had it for a year no reported accidents..

Just bought the car, within a month the brakes were grinding. Took it to the dealership and there was a power train leak which they replaced. A few days later, i was at an intersection turning and my wheel completely locked, causing me to hit the car in front of me and the air bags deployed. An officer happened to be on the same road and saw that my car was also smoking as well which may have been due to the previous power train leak. I looked at other recalls and sure enough, there are some on the 2011-2013 regarding steering and brake systems as well. They definitely need to check the 2014 dodge avenger as well for similar issues. Now the front passenger area and my axel is ruined and needs to be replaced.

Power loss in the gearbox , when you accelerate the car it happens everyday at anytime.

I keep getting notifications in the mail that my part is ready, and am being told to contact my dealership. I physically went down to the dealership per my appointment and they claimed no part or software was available to fix it.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v668000 (seat belts, air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. I wrote previously on the brakes not working resulting in accident but i can't find where to update my previous complaint so i'll add to it here.we have since learned the speed at time of accident was 21 mph, red light came on when brakes were pressed and there were no brakes.this is the 3rd time it happened.the other 2 the brakes came right back.the accident did result in the vehicle being totaled.thank goodness no injuries but whatwe have since learned is the airbags did indeed deploy, thank goodness, but the driver seatbelt did not hold.when they got him out of the driver seat, the seatbelt was across him but no longer buckled.it was just laying across him, between the airbag and the driver.i did receive a occupant restraint controller notification saying there is a recall but it says they don't have a fix yet.this is beyond scary.especially since we own two of the same vehicles.we couldn't afford to park the vehicles untila fix was made available sodriving the other avenger is very scary.i sure hope there is a remedy soon.the recall is also for the airbags which i thank my lucky stars at least they did deploy.the accident happened 11/16/2016.photos attached.

I bought my car and like a month later was notified of a recall it was for the airbag , however my seatbelt would just come unlatched. I took the car in for the recall to be fixed and did mention it to the dealer. I than received the car back and i am still having the same issue. I will be driving down the road or freeway and you can hear it unlatch and comes off. It has been happening more often and no one knows why.

Issues with seatbelts which pop out when tension or force is applied on the belt. Passenger seat belt had first started to show signs of failure when the seat belts safety button would unclasp when braking. Now, after some time and usage the passenger's belt does not clasp fully at all and takes a good minute for it to catch. Driver's seat has started to show signs of this as well as when i had to brake hard and when pressure was applied to the belt, the clasp had given way and popped out.

The passenger side seat belt buckle stopped working in the middle of driving and hasn't worked since. There's no indication of obstruction inside the device; it's kept clean at all times. Major safety issue.

Takata recall i was in an accident and my air bags did not deploy nor did my seat belt restrain me.i had no idea my vehicle even had a recall on it.

Takata recall. Seat belts will not click and come undone randomly. My car went limp and would not drive over 10 miles per hour due to mechanical failure while driving. Also the car shut off another day while on the highway in motion. Car needed to be towed to vip. Suspension system required replacement.

Takata recall. Also i would like the brakes and or the rotors be investiagated as well. I had to have the brakes repaired 3x times since 2016 for the same reason with in 3to 4 months of each otherand the rotor replaced . I saw that i am not the only one have this complaint as well as the roofing material is coming off and the car seems to be having a slight electrical issue where we lose power.

It is the airbags but i'm not sure if it's considered the takata recall. But i've received two to three different letters about the recall and i've gone to the dealership numerous times. Everytime they say they don't have the parts to fix and now the airbag light keeps going on and off. I called to schedule an appointment for one of the two recalls and not they are saying there is no record of a recall for my car.

Bergstrom chrysler of kaukanuna (2929 lawe street, kaukauna, wi 54130) replaced the orc sensor a second time because they believed it was the source of the failure. The contact stated that none of the air bags were functional and the air bag warning indicator illuminated again. The manufacturer stated that they could not assist and advised the contact to keep the receipts for possible reimbursement if a recall was issued. The failure mileage was 49,400.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving approximately 45 mph, the passenger side headrest padding separated and pushed forward. The contact pushed the padding back, but it did not latch back to the frame. The contact scheduled an appointment with the dealer (jt's jeep, dodge, and chrysler in lexington, sc: 803-220-3725). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Also, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v668000 (seat belts, air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 25,200. Parts distribution disconnect.

Driving down the road the headrest snapped hitting me in the head. Almost made me crash.you are lucky i didn't cause i would have sued your ass.

While driving down interstate 75 s @70 mph driver side headrest detached from the back. Making it very difficult and dangerous to drive. Purchased brand new off the lot in 2014. No accidents with the car past or recent. No bumper damage. Pulled over and could not get the front to reset back into the frame. Called the dealership, because the vin is out of the range of a previous recall dodge won't fix it. We haven't gotten a quote yet for what out of pocket expense will be.

Both of my front seat headrests deployed as passengers were getting out the car and pushed against the seats to get out the car. The car was never involved in a car accident so i don't understand why the headrests deployed like they did. Since the pins are no longer in the headrests, it appears i will have to order new ones to correct the issue.the upholstery on the right passenger door has lifted.

The back of both head rest have popped open.

While the car was at a complete stop (stationary) with no other cars around, the headrest on the drivers side snapped open jerking the drivers head forward.

While sitting parked at a traffic light the active head restraint popped out. I spoke with someone about it at my local dodge dealership on how to retract it and they pointed out that the bracket had broken and the head rest needed to be replaced.

Passenger reactive headrest deployed on its own due to weak and faulty plastic. The pin pulled through the plastic on its own allowing the headrest to deploy, while the pin was still locked down.luckily it happened when opening car door, if on drivers side while driving would cause an accident.

Passenger side headrest split.open but was never in an accident. Car was in motion at the time but no one was in passenger seat. Can not get headrest to push back closed.

Both of my headrests deployed without any type of collision.the first happened a few months ago, my passenger side deployed overnight when the car was parked in the carport.the plastic clips were broken.then on 7/15/2020, the drivers side headrest deployed at some point during the 8 hours my car was parked at work.thankfully no one was in the seat either time because that would have resulted in injury.i have researched and found that there was a recall on the 2011-2013 avenger models, but apparently they decided not to change anything for the 2014 model, there are tons of complaints, some with injury, most with ridiculous repair bills and all this is due to faulty cheap plastic clips that apparently just snap during normal use.we should not be responsible for this, chrysler should be held responsible, this is a safety issue and should be recalled and replaced with a better, more substantial system.

Haed on guarlrail and airabg and seat belt didn't go off plus driver seat slid forward hitting chest shoulder and head on windoe steering wheel and knee hitting dash breaking artificial knee

Important note : my wife's vehicle was never involved in an accident.the active head restraint on the vehicle decided to spontaneously deploy.we are not sure when it happened, but thank god it wasn't while she was driving with the vehicle in motion.the force of the headrest opening appears to have broken some plastic retainer pieces, and now we are faced with replacing the headrest.i called the dealership to be sure there were no safety recalls, and was informed there were not.i asked if they would replace a faulty safety device that decided to malfunction and was told that the only warranty we had on the vehicle was for powertrain and therefore, this would not be a covered issue.we were then told the cost to replace the defective headrest would be $625 plus tax for the part alone!i asked for the area representative's name and contact information and they were only able to provide me with a name.i called jim brown dodge in tampa and they refused to provide me with the information and they refused to take my information to relay to them.i called the customer service number for dodge and they refused to do anything as well, saying it was not a covered part.the service manager at jim brown told me he sees this 5-6 times per year.why are customers being charged for replacements of safety devices that are failing?furthermore, if the headrest is deploying with such force as to break the parts inside, what would have happened if my wife had been driving at the time?!?

I was leaving work on friday, march 19,2021 around 4:05 p.m...stopped, my car was not in motion, i was waiting for on coming traffic to clear, when i heard what i believed to be gun shots or either a car had crashed into the back of me at a high rate of speed, there were no vehicles behind me, i was so scared, i went to my mechanic, and he discovered the horrible noise was my head rest had exploded.it is cut in half and has started rattling. My mechanic advised i call dodge dealer on monday morning 3/22/2021. I called this morning at 9:11 a.m. (eastern time).i did receive a call back, i explained in great detail what happened, i in no certain terms told the dealer, i will not be paying for this, and was told, there are no open recalls at this time, that i would need to bring my car in and leave for the technician to check for parts and it might be covered under an extended warranty, i also requested they checked the drivers side head rest, stated, they might not be able to do that. I stressed i am somewhat afraid to drive my car now especially not knowing if the drivers side head rest will deploy when i am sitting or driving my car. I scheduled an appointment to take my car in the morning at 7:00 a.m. And all of a sudden, the person i was talking to changed the reservation to wednesday

The passenger active headrest restraint popped open while the vehicle was stationary and the plastic pieces inside of it broke making it unable to reset.

I was moving my seat back and the headrest popped out. The clips inside broke and it won't go back into place. This could've happened while i was driving, which is a major safety issue.

While the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the headrest deployed and the head restraint that was supposed to prevent whiplash in a rear end collision popped off the seat. The contact was not injured. The dealer (shottenkirk chrysler dodge jeep ram, 200 liberty blvd, canton, ga 30114, (678) 535-3417) was called and denied any knowledge of the failure even though there were past incidents reported on the internet. The manufacturer informed the contact to go to another dealer and pay the deductible since the vehicle was under an extended warranty, which could possibly cover the repairs. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 78,000. Consumer stated corporate office is aware of the problem.

I purchase a 2014 dodge avenger sept of 2013.january 2014 we begin to hear grinding or constant squealing during backing up or braking.took it back to the dealer and they stated they were waiting on the manufacture to making new parts for these brake ok,so every month i'm taking it back to the dealer and getting the same answer nothing yet.no i have to drive a least 2 1/2 hours some day for work and just this pass week, i had to push real hard on the brakes to get it to stop.and the nose is getting louder and louder and the dealer still telling me the manufacture has not sent replace for these brakes they are making new one for all these cars.in the mean time this is my only source to get back and forth to the and i am afraid those brake are going to give out while driving.

I got my front breaks done with aftermarket brake pads and rotors weird grinding squealing sound the place told me it was my transmission probably. I took it to the dealer for a diagnostic, and they said it was after market parts causing the noise and recommended that i get factory parts put on the car. I went back to jiffy lube, the original people who placed the aftermarket parts on and when they replaced everythin with factory parts, the noise still occured. I took it back to dodge, informing them that their diagnostic that was recommended was handled and the noise still occurs. They, came back with the same answer "your front brakes". How is it that you diagnose my car and tell me it's one thing, and when i get that one thing fixed, it's still the same issue? at this point, i am convinced it's not jiffy lube, but dodge not doing proper diagnostics because i also complained about my car jumping when i break and it takes long to shift into gear. They didn't even diagnose that and when i complained, they said everything was fine with my transmission. I own a 2014 dodge avenger and i got it from folsom lake dodge.

My abs light and traction control light came on and once it went off the brakes stopped working then it came back on and the brakes started working again this is very scary and i feel like something wasn't done properly there is no reason for this to be happening hoping someone can figure this out soon. This all happened while driving it doesn't matter if it's on highway or dirt road.

Brake light illuminate on and off intermittently in vehicle when vehicle is in motion.

My car is a 2014 doge avenger that has the occupancy restrain failure code. I have done some research and found out the gm put only a certain number of these cars on the recall list: however, my car was not placed on the list. Unfortunately for me, i am having that issue. I would like to ask if there is anything possible you could do to get my recall service by dodge.

When driving the car it sways side to side and also kicks to the right when going over railroad tracks at approx. 15 mph.i have to drive with bothhands firmly on the wheel so that it does not pull one way or the other.

Steering wheel jammed all of the sudden out of nowhere while in motion on a city street after 3 years of owning it,causing me to not be able to make a right turn. Mechanic says rack and pinion needed replaced and was dangerous for the problem to appear out of nowhere. Also said it should not have happened for a 2014 model and it was a manufactur default but our warranty had expired 2 months previously.

I was driving the car down the road when all of a sudden the wheels locked up and pulled hard left and my steering wheel locked up as well and i crashed

Hit a few deer head on it took out both sides and complete front end and air bags didn't deploy and it was a pretty hard impact ill be surprised if they don't total the vehicle out we were on hwy 45 in bloomington indiana

While i was driving, the hood of my car became unlatched and inverted onto my windshield and warping to my windshield, and denting the roof of my car. These cause the hinges, roof, hood and latches to be replaced. Nearly 4000$ in damage.

I was involved in an accident. My car had 21000 miles. Someone ran a light through an emergancy lane the front of our vehicles collided. No air bags deployed, my engine ended up on the ground as well as my radiator. It was a total loss. Shouldn't there have been airbags deployed?

I was not notified of this recall! i logged onto my credit karma (today 3/14/2018) and they notified me that 3 recalls were issued for this vehicle back in 2016. Additionally, my husband was in an accident on 11/29/2017 and the air bags did not deploy. He was a tboned from someone who ran a stop sign and is suffering from neck and back issues caused from this accident.

The etc warning indicator and traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure occurred approximately six times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. The vin was not provided.

"takata recall" i got a letter for a safety recall on my 2014 dodge avenger sxt for safety recall #61/ nhtsa 16v-668 - occupant restraint controller. Everything was going fine until june 1st when all sudden when driving my air bag icon would flash on and off. Tried bring it back to local dealership that had fixed the recall saying something was wrong and that i had just brought the car in not long ago for a recall. They looked it up and seen that i was just in but wouldn't just look at car for the issue.

Having problems with heating the car warm on driver-side, cold on the passenger side. I was told to replace the heater coil by the dealership. If it the heater coil why is it heating on one side?

Passenger headrest deployed without cause or accident and hit passenger in head. Resulting in headache and pain.

The heater core got clogged around 50,000 miles, which causes heat to come out of only one vent and cold air out of the rest. Extended warranty will not cover it since the part is not malfunctioning it's just clogged. Seems to be a pretty common problem and the manufacturing company will not do anything about it either. So it leaves you with about $1000.00 fix

Exploding headrest!! i am sure your organization is aware of this safety hazard (google-dodge avenger exploding headrest).the front passenger headrest blew apart while i was driving on a city street.please note that the headrest ejects forward into the back of your head. Safety hazard??? hell yes! i don't want to be driving when the drivers side explodes and causes me to lose control, or knocks me out! the dodge dealership said they see this frequently and had no concern except to ask for $150 for a diagnostic fee and quote $700 to fix it. Are you serious? this is a dodge problem not a consumer problem. I need help and answers! how can this not be a serious safety hazard. My mechanic wont't touch the headrest because of possible involvement with other systems. Do you really want consumers trying to fix the problem themselves and potentially causing more serious safety system issues with their vehicles and then driving them on the roads and highways? at my quoted price of $850, you can bet consumers will resort to self help. Someone needs to have a word with dodge, this manufacturing defect has the potential to cause fatalities.

On june 28, 2019 around 5:15pm central time, i was on the highway 60 mph driving home from work and heard a loud noise around my head area, after stopping to check what made the noise i noticed my driver side head rest had ejected, i checked for a recall for the head rese and nothing was noted about it.

I own a 2014 dodge avenger in which only cold air comes out on the passenger side.i took the car to the dealer and they told me what i had expected all along, a clogged heater core.i have done a lot of research on this and found out dodge is and was well aware of this manufacturing defect.clogged heater core because of faulty flushing of the water jackets on the v6 engine.i am very limited on driving my car in the winter because my windshield will not defrost on the passenger side, which is a hazard.this fault is not because of misuse of the vehicle but a manufacturing fault of dodge.guess what, they will do nothing about it.this is a safety issue that should be corrected by the manufacturer and not by the consumer.if dodge knew of this defect and the consumer wasn't notified isn't it fraud.i need help..

The heater core is working and the bend door actuators are working but the heat only works on the driver side and not the passenger side. I've seen many forums of people saying the same things about 2012-2014 models. This seems to be a big issue with this car. It is winter now and only half the heat works, as well as only half the defroster as well. The car only has 105k miles on it and i've had no issues till this and other recalls. Dodge should recall these as it's a issue with many avenger models. The vehicle does it just idling in a park spot or driving. Not sure if it's defective actuator bending doors or the heater core itself?! plz look further into this and hopefully this issue can be considered for a recall.

Drivers side of car blows heat. Passenger side blows cold

Passenger side air vents blow only cold air when using heater. Driver side blows heated air with a electric burning smell.cruise control will not stay engaged.traction control continually engages while driving on dry roads.

The passenger side of my avenger is blowing nothing but cold air.the heater and defrost on the drivers side works great.in winter driving the passenger side window will not defrost and this causes a very dangerous situation.i have read where many others have had the same problem and chrysler corp. Will do nothing about it.i believe it has something to do with debris coming from the water jackets around the engine.it is not the blender door as i have had it checked.flushing or replacing the heater core is probably not an option since it will just clog the heater core again and this is very expensive.until enough people complain this will just keep happening until dodge figures out how they can fix it permanently.this is dangerous in winter weather and it is a mystery, after spending 100's of dollars on a car you should expect to get what you paid for.

Takata recall. Seat belts will not click and come undone randomly. My car went limp and would not drive over 10 miles per hour due to mechanical failure while driving. Also the car shut off another day while on the highway in motion. Car needed to be towed to vip. Suspension system required replacement.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle began to decelerate without warning. The vehicle was towed to monroeville dodge (3633 william penn hwy, monroeville, pa, 15146) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body system failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. While the vehicle was in park, the vehicle sputtered and stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the sensor in the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 40,500.

The throttle and engine light lit up on the dash. Car has trouble accelerating and sputters til lift off the gas pedal. Sometimes when starting it will sputter and try to quit. It will also accelerate by itself when my foot is not on the pedal at all.

Electronic throttle system icauses a rapid change in speed.

This is the third time the electronic throttle body has failed.the dealers keep replacing that specific part and there must be more wrong with the vehicle .the vehicle is unable to accelerate,it bogs and jumps and is very dangerous to drive.

While the vehicle is moving and with my feet on the gas pedal the rpms drop, the car shudders. About 5 seconds later the rpms jump up but doesn't gain speed. Also the car jerks before accelerating very slow. No codes but clearly there's a problem.

: "window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin)."does not matter if vehicle is moving or parked.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the vent control function was not working properly when attempting to heat the vehicle.

While traveling on the highway i noticed a pulling/shaking of the vehicle felt as if the car did not want to follow my control. It will also feel as if it wants to attempt to stall or switch gears while driving

The tireseparated and exploded, this is a fairly new car,i could of had an accident. This should be recalled right away.
