There was a recall on the airbag system, which i have taken to get fixed. There is a airbag light now flashing on and off and i am too afraid to drive it. When i asked about the dealership ship shewed me away and said maybe it's the wiring, well hell i didn't wire it myself. I want it noted i called about this issue also reported it was told it's not part of the recall. So i guess they wait for something to happen first, then recall it?!?

I was coming into a turn and a dog ran in front of the car very fast and i jerked and hit the curb as i hit the curb the car went on top of it than back onto the street i tried to hit the brakes numerous of times but they went stiff and all steering went away it was locked i lost all control of the vehicle. The car hit another car, damaging it and my insurance totaled out the avenger. Now we are without a vehicle due to this. I went to the hospital with my passenger who was injured as well, doctor diagnosed me with a cervical strain. Since this incident i am still having headaches. My mother is the owner of the vehicle and still is shaken up about this.

On 10/1/2016 a recall for called for my 2010 dodge avenger sxt. The recall number is 16v-668. They stated that the vehicle may experience loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in certain crash events. I called my local dodge to see what could be done, and told them that the occupant restraint must be replayed. They toldme that there currently arent any parts available, and they have no clue when they will be available. That poses a huge safety risk because in event of a crash airbags are supposed to help save lives. With these issues going on and if i were in a wreck my life is at steak. I asked her about loaner cars, or if anything else could be done to increase safety. The only thing she said that can be done is just wait it out. With my safety being at risk every time i drive, i could be killed before parts even come in. I don't feel safe at all just waiting it out, and putting my life in the hands of dodge. I feel like if they cant currently replace the parts, they either need to replace the car or loan one that works efficiently. Also before i purchased this vehicle there was a recall on the breaks on 2010. It stated that these vehicles may have been built with an improperly formed or missing brake booster. This could result in brake failure without warning which could cause a crash. Checking the car-fax that i was given this was not replaced or looked at, and now i'm having issues with my brakes. So not only is this a safety issue with the airbags and breaks, but a huge safety issue with my life being at risk.

Has a recall on this vehicle with no remedy was told by dodge dealer ship that there is no remedy and its unsafe to drive

Etc light came on and car started acting like it was running out of gas. Rpm gage jumps from 1k to 1.5k. Vehicle would not go over 20 mph. Brought vehicle home reset the computer light stayed on but problem went away for a little over a week. I was on my way to work when the etc light started to flash again. Pulled over attepted to reset like the manual said to, no such luck, called in and took the car to dealership. Diagnosed as electronic throttle body needing to be replaced. As i have been reading through complaints on this vehicle i have seen over 10 complaints on this part but no recall on them. Chrysler needs to recall this part. No excuse for it to be happening to so many people. I understand parts get old and worn out but no way this many. Recall please.

The car would sputter like it was having a hard time accelerating then the electronic throttle body light came on.i was on my way to a dealership to find out what was wrong.i was merging onto a busy interstate when my car went from 60-65 mph down to 30-35 mph while i was still trying to speed up to merge onto the interstate. This incident came very close to resulting in me getting rear ended.the next day i went and had the whole throttle body replaced (january 2013).in october 2013 i started to have the same problems, the throttle body light would come on and the car would sputter like it couldn't pick up speed or it would rev up while i was slowing down.i had the throttle body cleaned and it ran okay for a week or two.then september 2013 i took it to a dealership yet again, they said it was old codes causing the problem.they cleared the codes and it was fine for a little bit.then around april 2014 it would start up again. It would run fine and on occasion the throttle control light would come on.but in august 2014 it started acting up again.the rpms would rev up from 1 to 3 while in park.i would be sitting at a red light with my foot on the brake and the car would rev up for no reason.it has completely stalled out on me two days in a row.luckily it was when i was in parking lots.this is a newer car and there is no logical reason to have this much ongoing trouble with the throttle body except some kind of defect.it is also very dangerous.because it will act up a day or two then be fine for a few days making it difficult for a shop to actually see what the car is doing.the light comes on and it acts up and sometimes when you turn the car off and back on it'll be fine.but the fact that it will stall out or decelerate with no notice is very dangerous especially since i drive on a busy interstate at least twice a day.

Car would start and run for a bout 3sec the etc light and check engine light would come on. Sometimes it would start right back up other times it took multiple starts to stay running...sometimes it didn't do it at all and would run and start fine for weeks. Took the car to an independent shop. They couldn't get any codes off the car and couldn't duplicate the problem. Car was repaired with new spark plugs, new air filter, and a throttle body cleaning. Problem persisted the same dayit was "fixed". Drove the car for a about 2-3weeks with the same problem intermittently then while driving about 40mph the car lost rpms although the peddle was being pressed and car eventually stalled and shut off leaving the abs and power steering inop so the car was difficult to turn and stop and almost resulted in an accident. The car was moved to a parking lot and left off for about 10mins. Tried starting it but it would start and stall and idle rough before it stalled out the check engine light with the etc light came were on. Took about 10mins and about 7 tries to get the car running and the car was dropped off at a repair shop. Looks like a common problem within the throttle body with the throttle positions sensor with 2008-2010 model. This needs to be recalled!!!

I drive a 2010 dodge avenger and have a few problems with it... Window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin). My hazard light also do nit work... Hazard switch includes the heated seat button and the whole thang sees to be dead and not working at all. I've checked fuses and all connection everything is okay but still nothing out of the switches at all.

Rolled the window down on the driver front door and there was a loud bang, the window would not roll back up. Thought the glass had broken.went to a repair shop and was told the glass was not broken, the window regulator had broken.had just pulled out of my parking space in front of my door.

I need some answers to this major safety issue. I have been experiencingissues with my 2010 dodge avenger. These issues are while driving the vehicle on the roadway, highway vehicle just cuts of without any warning signs with cars going at least 45mph following. Vehicle has also not started on over 15 occasions. I have taken it to the dealership who intern has made repairs stating that the issue was fix, but when i get vehicle home after an enormous repair bill it won't start again. The dealer has told me that they don't know why vehicle is abruptly going dead while driving.this is a major safety issue. Last occurence was in october 2019. Vehicle is still a repair shop.

2010 dodge avenger.consumer writes in regards to vehicle fire, after it was started.the consumer was given a replacement vehicle.

On or about 09/07/17, my son was driving my 2010 dodge avenger. There is a major electrical problem. When starting to drive, the gauges and speedometer and warning lights when crazy or stopped working. Nothing worked like it should. Then at a stop the vehicle died and wouldn't restart. Got the car jump started and was brought home. Upon investigating the problem by my other son a mechanic, there seemed to be an issue with the battery, alternator, or pcm. Once the battery was replaced everything appeared fine for about a 30 minute drive, then same issue. Vehicle then was taken to a dodge dealer who after a week couldn't diagnose the problem. Replaced the alternator, not the issue. Final result is the pcm is faulty. Ok, just one problem. When trying to get one from the dealer on west coast, i was informed that the pcm's are on back order. In fact over 365 are on b/o. Contacted 3 other chrysler suppliers/warehouses around the nation, and was advised that there were over 700 nation wide on b/o and none are to be had. Contacted auto part stores, (orielly, auto zone, napa, etc) and was met with the same results. This issue seems to be a nation wide problem and safety issue with the vehicle just stopping/running and no readily available fix for the problem. I contacted dodge customer service and made my complaint to them. The dodge rep agreed that this would appear to be a major warranty issue, due to the amount of back orders and availability. He gave me a campaign # 32502195 as he opened an investigation into this issue. I did find one auto computer rebuilder that may be able to repair my pcm, could take up to 10 weeks (+) to get it back. This issue resembles the recall on the 2008/09 avenger pcm issue. Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a 2010 dodge avenger which i purchase in april of 2015. And in 2015 i had to put it in the shop to replace the throttle control body because i was losing acceleration while driving. Here we are 1.5 years later and i am having the same problem. According to the mechanic that was working on my car, after 2 unsuccessful attempts to fix it, they contact a dodge dealership, which stated this was a known problem with the vehicle. After driving my car for more than 10 minutes, the electronic throttle indicator light begins to flash. I am unable to accelerate past 20 mph. Or if i am stopped, the car jerks forward while trying to accelerate. This is very unsafe especially when driving on the highway.

While driving my 2010 dodge avenger, the electronic throttle body warning light will flash on and then go off, when it is on the car drops speed quickly and will not accelerate. This has happened to me numerous times over the last month. It has happened to me on major highways in heavy traffic and has almost had me get hit by other vehicles as my car drops speed with no warning. The light never stays on long enough to pull any codes from it. I have researched this issue and there is numerous complaints online about the electronic throttle body's being faulty that dodge is putting in 2008 - 2010 avengers. I have notified dodge of my issue and they basically told me they were sorry for my issue and that was it. This is a major safety issue, as someone can end being hit by another vehicle when their car stalls like this with no warning. This part is faulty as people have had them replaced and not even 6 months later they have had to have them replaced again, as the only replacement part available is from dodge, which shows the parts are faulty.once the car completely stalls out, it loses power steering and braking capabilities which is going to cause an accident and get someone killed. Please recall this part on the cars before someone gets hurt or killed, i do not want it to be me or one of my children riding in my car that ends up getting killed from an automobile accident because dodge was not made to recall these faulty parts on their avengers. I plan on pursuing this issue until there is some sort of resolution for customers that have these model cars from dodge.

2010 dodge avenger sxt 4l engine - 01-04-2016 no start in home driveway. Car towed to brewbaker dodge and kept for two (2) days with no trouble found at great inconvenience to myself.extended warranty would not pay due to no trouble found.i had to pay for towing charges at $65. And dealer waived diagnostic due to previous problem. Dealer offered free towing if problem recurs.

While driving my vehicle at 60mph, my gas pedal simply stopped working. My rpms on the dashboard went to 0(zero) and my vehicle began slowing down. I became stranded in the middle of the freeway with cars honking at me. I could not do anything but turning off the vehicle, then turning it back on. When it started up, i began driving for about 1/2 of a mile and it stalled again. I was able to pull off to the shoulder, but the steering became difficult to turn, and so did the brake. It's as if i was forcing the car to come to a complete stop, and the brake was fighting against my foot. I sat for 10 minutes before starting the vehicle again and quickly exiting the freeway. I took it to a private mechanic, and he pulled a code stating it was a faulty throttle body. After inspecting it, he recommended a complete cleaning of it. So he cleaned it. I went to drive home and the car stalled again, this time as i was coming to a stop sign. With cars behind me honking, it became embarrassing, so i exited the vehicle and pushed it off the side of the road as my passenger steered the vehicle. They noticed the same difficulty in steering and the hard brake. The problem has not been resolved, due to my inability to do so due to financial reasons. Upon doing some research there are many other 2010dodge avenger owners facing this same safety hazard. As well as this issue, my car will randomly 'honk' on its own. Just the other day, while sitting at a red light, it started to aggressively honk. The vehicle in front of me started driving(though it was a red) and almost ran into oncoming traffic. A nearby officer saw this and pulled me over. I was given a verbal warning and told to get the issue resolved immediately. The officer was being kind, and told me, he could have had the vehicle towed away for not functioning properly. The vehicle only have 129,000 miles.

More then (30) times intermittently electrical issues occur causing flashing (numbers/deck/fuse/blank) odometer, power for radio/time goes out, security system does not shut off or will not unlock the car, the car stalls while driving, the windows wont work, and starting the car can take several cranks. More importantly as a major safety issue, me and my daughter were stuck inside my car for an hour and a half because the electrical issue would not allow any of the doors to unlock. The 2008-2010 dodge avenger is known for electrical issues and electrical fires. Dodge is not covering these electrical issues under warranty. I did everything possible to unlock the doors such as the door panel button, turning on and off the car, switching gears, driving through the parking lot to trigger the auto speed lock, giving the key to someone through a small gap in the window to have them use the key manually, pressed the unlock on the key remote, none of this worked to unlock the car. I was even on the phone with the dodge dealership while this occurred and they could not tell me how to get out. We just had to wait out the electrical "fit" the car has. This issue has been impossible to diagnose because it is intermittent, however the car will be at the dealership this coming tuesday at my expense. It is a huge risk to drive this car due to the possibility of an electrical fire. I don't want my daughter, (still in a car seat) myself, or my husband to burn to death stuck in this car due to the lack of responsibility from dodge or manufacturer because its hard to diagnose. This should be recalled as there are thousands of complaints online specifically electrical with this car.

Received recall notice in sept 2016. As of july 2017 still no fix available and parts affected by recall are major safety concerns.

I was driving ,it was rainingso the a.c. Went out came back on and went out again never to come on again there was a faint smell of rubber.i took it to the mechanic. After the diagnostic he recommended i take it to the dealership.my car a dodge avenger 2010 is only four years old.

Driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle stalled briefly and when the gas pedal was pushed did not accelerate. Immediately following the lack of acceleration the electrical indicator light appeared. The car was driven approximately one (1) mile and parked at no time did the vehicle accelerate to a speed higher than 15 mph and the indicator light continued to be present.once the car was parked a call was made to a local dodge dealership and an appointment made to immediately take the vehicle in for a diagnosis. The vehicle was driven approximately 10 miles to the dealership at no time did the electrical indicator light appear and the vehicle accelerated without incident. Upon examination of the vehicle it was determined that the issue was with the throttle body which was repaired. This was the second incident in which the throttle body was replaced approximately six (6) months earlier the vehicle experienced the same issue... While driving 35 mph the vehicle lost power and refused to accelerate the vehicle was towed into the dealership and upon examination it was determined that the throttle body needed to be replaced. Please note that both times the vehicle was taken to the same dealership for repair.

I bought the car from rydell san fernando on 12/2013 and the a/c, heater, wipers went out on may and they would not fix it.then on 9/2014 the breaks went complete out without notice now the vehicle has been in and out the repair shop multiple times and it has been at david ellis chrysler for over 2 weeks and they can't fix the vehicle, it is a lemon and i still owe 12,000 on it.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that when the left signal turn was activated, the windshield wipers engaged inadvertently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Problems reading speedometer dodge avenger 2011.speed is indicated in a "font" that is square.it is the same font that is used on the name badges on the car.in addition the manufacturer included all of the speeds i.e 40, 50 ,60 etc, on the dial creating a very crowded dial that is nearly impossible to read while driving.most manufacturers only indicate every second speed, i.e20, 40, 60 mph for clarity.the car was very difficult to drive and keep at posted speed due to this defect.a quick glance at the squared letters all crowded together made it nearly impossible to figure out at what speed the car was being driven.the 50 and 60 mph indications were basically identical when read with a quick glance which is typical in normal driving conditions.manufacturers should keep speed indicators as simple as possible. Dodge did a very poor job with these speedometers which tend to confuse drivers.i would recommend that better standards for speedometers be enacted to prevent drivers from making mistakes when reading the speed at which the car is going.i have take a picture of this speedometer which i would be glad to provide to you.thanks.

The vehicle on three separate turn arounds did the same thing after 3 plus hrs of driving stopping shifting into reverse then drive. Near the end of the rural/local 4 straight hrstransmission appeared to not shiftout of first gear. Each time the vehicle came to a complete stop while applying brakes. The car was then shifted into r(reverse) and the brake pedal was released and gas pedal applied approximately. After reaching the reversed turning destination the brake was reapplied and car came to a stop. Car was shifted into d (drive) from r (reverse) and all three times the car accelerated to 30 -34 mph rpms staying at 3 andthe automatic transmission did not did not go into normal 2nd year mode. All three times the car was completely stopped. The gearshift put into p(park for 5sec.) then gear shift put into d. The car ran fin again until time to turn around. On the 3rd attempt the check engine light came on and immediately the car was driven home under 40 mph 4rpms. After the vehicle has set for 2 plus hrs the fluids were checked and none appears low the car also drove as normal as it had at the beginning of the last trip. The car was only driven for 5-10minutesvand all gears seam to work fine fluids are normal and the check engine symbol is still lit.

Takata recall. My car honks at all times, driving, parked, at night, in the day. It makes the sound of me holding the horn down non stop also as if i was pressing it on and off. When parked it also makes the sound of the alarm being set, also the sound of the alarm going off as if someone tried to break into the car. But what is mostly bothering me is the honking while driving, i almost caused 2 other vehicles to crash n run red lights due to my car repeatedly honking at themat the red light, i been cursed out and one time a female was trying to fight me in front of my children for the same problem. I have taken the car to gmc buick (which is where i purchased the car) and buick mechanic came back saying the computer did not see a problem. This is something very serious specially with all the road range going on right now. Also my hazard lights constantly come on on its own without turning off after hours later. I have had this vehicle for 2 years and i have replaced the battery 3 times due to the car giving me problems to turn on.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the esc warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,400.

I was driving along pacheco pass in the night. At one section there was large white paint strips (bigger in footprint when you compare it with the traffic divider broken lines) when the vehicle passed over this painted section on the hwy because of the smoother slippery surface. I seemed to lose control, the steering became too fluid, and later if i exceeded 65 miles on a normal road i felt that i was loosing control, something weird had happened to the automatic stability control system. I would like to also mention that it was very windy, but smaller vehicles were zipping past without any apparent problems.i realized that if i drive below 50 miles i didn't experience this problem of stability and loose steering. After some distance i pulled over, stopped the car, turned off the ignition and then started and began driving, i didn't experience this loss of stability after i did this. It seemed like there is some kind of a software glitch in the automatic stability control of the vehicle i was driving in. Which was a rented dodge avenger 2010i'm posting this in the hope that nhtsa takes up the matter and researches stability of vehicles when driving on pavement which has a painted section & also looks into the trigger mechanisms of the automatic stability control when encountered with such a case.

For months now my car keeps stalling i have 62,000 miles. I will be at a stop light and car will stall. It will start back up and then stall again. I took it to the dealer and they could not replicate and said nothing appeared in the codes as there were no issues. I contacted chrysler and they claim they didn't know what the issue was and that they rely on the dealers to diagnose. Today my car stalled again i was able to get home and i shut it off and started back up again while recording it on my phone when the engine stalled my electronic throttle warning light and check engine light both came on and the off. This is very dangerous and would like you to please document and let chrysler know this is a safety issue. I've read many instances online of this happening and consumers replacing the etc just to have it act up again. The cost to repair is somewhere around 400-800 dollars. At 62k i feel that they put a vehicle on the market and now should have enough complaints from the consumer to investigate and issue a recall.

Engine light came on. Got it diagnosed and code suggested changing the crank shaft sensor. Purchased part and had it installed by an independent mechanic. An hour later the engine light returned and the engine knocked while stopped at a red light and the car turned off. The car would not go above 35 mph. I was able to restart the car and drove it to a second mechanic. The codes suggested changing the sensor, and a misfire of the 1st and 4th spark plugs. The crank shaft sensor was changed, the throttle body cleaned, and all spark plugs changed. Still the same issue. The car will not go above 30 mph despite the gas pedal being pushed all the way down. Knocking engine and stalling. Took car to dealership. They suggested i allow them to take the engine apart for 800 dollars with no guarantee that this would fix the issue. Car currently over 80,000 miles approximately.

My avenger blows heat out on driver side and cold air on passenger side. I was told it was the blend air door actuator but i have changed it. Now my car heats up and still blows cold air until i start moving and then it still takes a little while to blow out heat.. I've seen that other owners are having the same issue with their avenger.

The catalytic converter was very old on a car that's only 6 years old. The car engine lights keeps cpmimg on fromtge catalytic converter and the car runs strange. The transmission is also going bad and the car is not that old. The car jumps bad. The transmission is not that strong for this car.

Electronic throttle control (etc) warning light comes on sporadically. Still runs ok. The etc warning light did not come on for the dealership (so they claim). I had a coolant system leak and had to replace 2 thermostats, coolant housing and have the coolant system flushed and filled at dealership. Not covered under warranty. Not cheap. Picking up the car tomorrow.

Driving at very slow speed. Vehicle stalled. Could have been very dangerous. Car was restarted. Just bought car day before. Informed dealership, and they did not return my call.

Car cuts off while driving.driving in the interstate at 55 mph the vehicle shut off. No warning signs were given, the car would not accelerate when pressing the gas.

I bought my car from a dealer, and they say it passed safety and emissions, well my hazard lights don't work,i noticed right after they did the test,i then wanted it fixed because in order to pass that's one of the things that has to work, now there trying to say i have to pay them to get it fixed, when they should have caught it in there safety test,it should have not passed,it's been a few months and i'm sick of fighting with them.

Car was having trouble starting but would always go, then one day needed to have it jumped since battery died. Assumed it needed a new battery. Next day driving on the highway when car started accelerating sluggishly was struggling to reach 60mph and rpms were about 7-800 higher than when normally at that speed. Called local dodge dealership to schedule repair and the service tech stated that they had numerous problems with throttle body. After checking this websites complaints and recalls section i see dozens of similar complaints where the throttle body was the core issue. There should be a recall since failures are nearly identical with this model.

The electronic throttle light came on and the car would not go over 15 miles per hour.i pulled over, turned the car off and it restarted.the light eventually went off and kept coming back on with the car not being able to accelerate over 15 mph.i took it to the dodge dealership today and they stated that the throttle body needs to be replaced.the cost of the part alone is $257.00 which is on back order.there are over 1200 on back order at this time.they also checked to see if this part would be included in the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty which it is not.this is part of the powertrain and should be included in the warranty through dodge.there should also be a recall on this part.evidently there are more people with the same problem since there are 1200 on back order.

After pulling into highway, accelerator ceased to work once speed hit 15 mph and etc warning light flashed.pulled into parking lot, turned car off and back on, and same problem repeated.research revealed numerous instances of the same problem all leading back to problems with the throttle body.cleaned throttle body and problem went away until three miles down the road when it returned--this time accelerator worked until 30 mph.

Knocking engine and stalling. Took car to dealership. They suggested i allow them to take the engine apart for 800 dollars with no guarantee that this would fix the issue. Car currently over 80,000 miles approximately.

While driving at about 35 miles per hour, i lost speed down to about 15 miles per hour. I had to stop, turn off the engine and restart. The issue did not reoccur, but there have been a few more times when the acceleration has decreased and then just started again and i took off faster than i wanted to go.

The electronic throttle control light comes on and off randomly . Sometimes when driving it will experience loss of power and or rough idling . Sometimes it will seem as if the gas pedal is being pressed on its own . Sometimes it will lose power and only do 10 mph even with the gas pedal floored . Sometimes the car dies completely . Usually turning the car off and back on again will somewhat fix it where it will at least drive .

While driving at about 35 miles per hour, i lost speed down to about 15 miles per hour. I had to stop, turn off the engine and restart. The issue did not reoccur, but there have been a few more times when the acceleration has decreased and then just started again and i took off faster than i wanted to go.

I just began having this problem and i am very concerned. There is not a recall yet, however i am hoping with taking the time to report my concerns and problems there will soon be a recall. After about 45 minutes to an hr of driving my vehicle there becomes a clunking noise on the left front end of my car. You can feel the noise/malfunction in the left lower part of the steering wheel while driving. Steering feels shaky and unstable. My vehicle is maintained monthly at the same place each month. The longer you drive the louder the clunking sound. After, realizing this problem was not going away and could become very serious i took it to my local dodge dealership and was told that there is not a recall issued for this problem and it would cost me about $600.00 d/t also telling me warranty would not cover it. After, extensive research i have learned that chrysler themselves have placed a concern in regards to this problem, however are not issuing a recall for this problem and that this is only a problem with vehicles manufactured before 7/2010 which mine was manufactured 8/2010 and i am having this current problem. I am very scared that if this does not get recalled and fixed there are going to be bigger problems than just complaints. I have read several incident reports placed with nhtsa with the same exact problems. With that said why is there nothing being done about this and why should i pay $600+ to get this fixed when this is clearly a chrysler/dodge issue and conveniently warranty will not cover this particular malfunction. I have 2 young children and if something happens to us while driving my car after numerous reports have been placed there will be problems bigger than a recall. I am very disappointed in chrysler/dodge and not sure that i would buy another dodge vehicle after this.

Vehicle fails to react when gas pedal pressed from a stop or just after vehicle is started, occurs at random and intermittently, dealership recommended switching out throttle body/throttle position sensor.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that there was transmission failure and referred the contact to a transmission specialist. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,272.

Crankshaft position sensor goes out car shuts off during driving in traffic or at light without warning very dangerous, noticed other people with dodge journey had same issue please help. Happened usually when in motion

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the gear shifter cable became loose. The contact was unable to shift gears and the vehicle became stuck in traffic. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle while in traffic and reconnected the cable. The vehicle was taken to five star chrysler dodge jeep ram of macon (3068 riverside dr, macon, ga 31210, (478) 345-8899), but was not diagnosed or repaired. After driving the vehicle for 30-45 a clunking noise begins in the left front, which gets louder the longer the vehicle is driven during one driving period. After parking the vehicle long enough for it to cool down, the problems starts again.took vehicle to mechanic who said was common problem but need to take to dealer for correct diagnosis - after 3 days the dealer determine rack & pinion needed replaced. I bought this car new & drive 90-95% of the time on the highway.also, when braking the car shimmies and shifts.they state this is not included in the power train warranty.my previous vehicle was a 2008 dodge with 110,000 miles on it at trade-in, i drove more in-town driving with it & it never needed any kind of repair.

When raining, the vehicle tends to want to "slip out" of gear. It could be at a stoplight or even while i am driving; it feels like when driving a manual car and you're about to stall it, that is how the transmission/gears feel. I have been driving down the road going approx. 30 mph, it was raining; the rpm's will stay where they are at, but the mph will fluctuate almost as if it is about to stall. However, i have an automatic car. I have been told by several people to take the car in, and have called cutter dodge (pearl city, hi) about my warranty, but they don't seem to care too much about my car. Not sure if others are having this issue, but my car is still a "puppy", only has 35,000!! this incident has happened any time it rains, not just on the date given.

Vehicle is stuck in park on the gear shift used troubleshooting with the pink thing in the console to shift gears however the dashboard is reporting that the car is in neutral the car will not drive anywhere from research we have found that this is an ongoing dodge problem not necessarily with the 2010 but with all the other dodges.stuck on the side of the road not able to go anywhere as car is stuck in park and showing neutral we were able to shift the car from park to other gears still reported in neutral

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the etc warning light illuminated and the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle did not accelerate over 15 mph. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

It has been months since i received the s61/nhtsa 16v-668 recall notice,as of todayi haven't received any updates on this matter.i checked online and it said the manufacturer hasn't been able to come up with a solution for this problem,i am very concerned because i drive this vehicle every day and it isn't safe to drive.if they cant fix it they should supply a safe loaner car that i can use until they canmake the necessary repairs.

When i go to brake from speeds of 25 mph and up, the car starts shaking violently. I have to press the brake pedal slowly and holds the steering wheel strongerto counter the shaking and not lose control of the vehicle. This is not always possible to do when braking. The faster the vehicle is going, the worse it shake swhen applying the brakes. I have taken it to the dealership and several other car places to have the brakes checked and they cannot find the problem. They've changed pads, rotors, etc. On multiple occasions in a short period of time and the problem remains.this is very dangerous and there seems to be no fix.

I keep having the vehicle fixed and then they keep telling me nothing else needs to be fixed with it. It keeps pullingn when i come to a stop and then decelerates while i'm driving and i have to pull over on the highway or pull off the highway and start the car again. No lights come on there's oil in the car i just had an oil change i just had to brake pads fixed even though the brakes keep squeaking the rotors are new xcetera. This isn't the first time it has decelerated i had to have a part replaced a couple years ago because it was doing the same thing. Trying to figure out if there's any recalls on the car in order to get those recalls fixed. It did the same thing last year and when i took it in they fixed another part. It's never the same part that the mechanics fix and say is causing the problem.

Rack and pinioni was progressing down hill. When i heard a loud pop in front end of my vehicle. The popping gets more frequent as one drives.so i took the vehicle home. And i placed in on driveup rampsand had someone twist the steering wheelback and forth well wouldn't you know the closer i placed my hand next the drivers side of the rack and pinion ( closest to the rack itself )the more pronounced was the feeling pop pop pop.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. While driving various speeds, the contact heard a knocking noise coming from the steering column. The dealer stated that the steering shaft was leaking fluid and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

On monday february 23,2014 i turned my car on and after a couple of minutes it made a loud noise. I didn't know what it was so i decided to park my car in my driveway. When i put the gear into drive i felt my steering wheel stiff, and i saw power steering fluid stains on the ground. My car is leaking power steering fluid and i don't know why. Would chrysler cover these costs? i had the same thing happen before as my power steering hose broke a few months ago.i took it to a dodge dealer and they told me there was no recall for that and they would charge me $200.00 just to look at it. I decided to take my car to my mechanic he was able to replace the hose for me, but this problem isn't solved yet and now i'm scared it might keep happening.

First my passenger door opened and then would no close.once we got it to close it will not open at all.4 weeks later i opened my drivers door and now it will not close.i contacted chrysler and was told there was no recall on this model year althoughthere were recalls on previous years for the same issue.

The contact was unable to see when it was necessary to merge or change lanes. The dealer stated that they could not assist. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 13,000.updated 02/23/11 the consumer stated there was no failure, just a potential for a failure of the metal pillar blocking too much of the rear view.

We have never had a flat tire until we bought this car, the monitoring valve stems have to be defective. We have had three blowouts all on the highway within the past three years due to these stems. Is there a recall?if not there should be. We would get rid of them but they tell us the light on the dashboard will stay on. There is no warning, the light does not come on and we check our tire pressure. I see dodge has had recalls on these stems but not for the avenger. Each time we lose the tire too, by the time we can pull out of traffic on the highway. It costs us $120 dollars each time for the tire new monitoring valve stem, having it programmed and a tire, already $360.00 and the possibility of getting killed changing the tire each time. Can you help us? we have one original one left and we know it is going to go? the car was purchased from milford chrysler dodge jeep dealer, milford pa 18337, phone number [xxx]. Thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I parked the car and went back to it and the front tire was flat, due to the tpms (tire pressure monitoring) sensor had corroded, causing it to break off and the valve stem to go inside the tire and wheel of the car.a further inspection of the rest of the tpms sensors revealed that the right rear tpms sensor was also corroded and half broken, and could have snapped off while driving, causing an immediate blow-out of the tire and a potential crash/injury.

The interior cloth headliner is coming unglued and is beginning to hang down across the rear window.not able to see all objects clearly in the rear view mirror due to this problem.this is a real safety issue.never seen a vehicle less than 10 years old do this before.very poor design.

Almost 2 years ago, my car would not start.since it had about 55,000 miles on it, i had a new 5-year warranty battery put in on april 5, 2015.had it serviced on april 18 and 25 because it would not start; after having to have it jumped a few times replaced battery on august 28.after several times it not starting, took it to dealership on october 29, 2015 and they replaced the battery again.on december 1, 2016, it would not start, took to dealership said there was corrosion.would not start dec. 5, dealership shut the a/c compressor off on dec. 6.february 12, 2017, my car would not start, once jumped, dropped it off at the dealership where it is now.when i am home, i always keep my car in a garage every night.i am the original owner of this vehicle, live alone, and extremely frustrated with this issue since it has less than 70,000 miles on it and i have taken it to a reputable mechanic 3x and the dealership 4x for this issue.

See star case s1207000008 - heat has gone out on the passenger side of the vehicle. This is a huge safety issue, as i cannot defrost half of my windshield or the passenger windows.

2010 dodge avenger stx4 cy. At about 64,000 check engine light came on with codes p0700 and p0760. Had transmission overhauled. Changed fluid filters etc. Was driving veh with odometer at approx 101,000 miles while driving at approx 35 mph. Veh all of a sudden started as if engine was racing or excellorating and then jumped hard into gear, check engine light illuminated and veh would not change gears while driving. Veh would not pass first gear. Droveveh home approx 1 mi. Check codes and came up with codes p0760 and p0700. In process of having transmission serviced.

The catalytic converter was very old on a car that's only 6 years old. The car engine lights keeps cpmimg on fromtge catalytic converter and the car runs strange. The transmission is also going bad and the car is not that old. The car jumps bad. The transmission is not that strong for this car.

Takata recall the transmission gear selector is stuck in neutral. Gears when our shift into drive or park the dashboard. The gears will not shift into drive but the car will turn on. By reading other complaints it's been a happen thing with dodge avengers 2010automobiles it need to be on recall for the transmission gear selector.

The trunk lid holds water, so when youopen the trunk it leakswater every where.now my trunk smells like mildew, which my kids and grandkids have to breath in when in the back seat. You can also smell it in the front seats too.

Car was parked in a condo parking lot and had not been driven for 3 days.walked out to car and saw signs of fire at the gas input on the outside of the car.opened the gas input door and gas cap was melted and destroyed, fire ash, etc. Visible.

I came out of the grocery store on 11/03/2015 .started the car nothing happened, battery, lights, radio, starter everything was tested and working great..had to call a professional locksmith service to program a new key to the vehicle..there was no indication or warning when this happened

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who recommended that the electronic throttle box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,250. The vin was not available.

Etc (electronic throttle control) has cause my car to be out of operation twice in the past month alone. I had the car repaired and it is already broken again within a months time.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. While driving approximately 50-55 mph, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact restarted the vehicle which functioned properly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who could not duplicate the failure. The failure continued and the dealer was once again able to duplicate the failure. The throttle was replaced on the third visit but the failure continued. The manufacturer had not been notified. Also the contact stated that there was a problem with the brakes as they were noisy when the contact was driving in reverse. The brake pedal extended to the floorboard and popped back up when depressed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 13,000 and the current mileage was 17,386.

2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate over 20 mph. *ld

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph when the vehicle began to lose power and stalled. The etc warning icon illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder and restarted the vehicle. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic advised the contact that the throttle would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 46,800.

Electronic throttle control warning lights came on while driving 15-20 mph. The light stayed lit while driving on an interstate highway. The car has less power train compare when i bought it. I have concern that the car will stall while driving on the road.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the throttle control light illuminated on the instrument panel. The engine then began to lose power, but did not stall. The contact also stated that vehicle would experience a hesitation when attempting to accelerate. A mechanic informed the contact that throttle issues were a common problem for this model year vehicle. The vehicle had not been inspected. The failure and current mileages were 32,000.

Takata recall 2010 dodge avenger. My lights blink on and off inside my car. My throttle control light came on. My car pauses at intersection like its going to just stop. Like it can't make it down the road. I'm worried for my childrens safety also my own.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate over 20 mph. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the thunder bolt warning icon illuminated and the vehicle decelerated independently to 15 mph. The vehicle then became resistant to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the contact was informed that the throttle body would need to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred the following day. The vehicle was returned to the dealer and the contact was informed that the throttle body would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 68,000.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. While attempting to start the vehicle, the throttle indicator illuminated and the engine stalled. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle control failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was repaired a third time. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The contact owns a 2010 dodge avenger. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph the electronic control warning indicator illuminated with a sudden reduction in engine rpms. The accelerator pedal was engaged but there was no response. The vehicle was coasted into a nearby parking space and the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not driven after the second failure occurred nor was it diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 64,800.

The etc body has been replaced twice within 6 months and now needs replaced again. The car accelerates on it's own, stalls out and doesn't start consistently. The car has been running and stalled, the car has been at a stoplight and thrusts forwards on it's own, making it unsafe to drive
